It’s a pleasure to welcome back Jasun Horsley, who presides over the blog Auticulture and The Liminalist podcast. Jasun is a UK ex-pat now living in rural British Columbia, Canada. He describes himself as a “high-functioning Aspergian” and his work often takes readers and listeners to the further outposts of culture where neuroscience and the occult shake hands with politics and show biz. Jasun is a hard-working professional intellectual who brings an original worldview to the events of the day.

Jim,
are sophisticated, complex explanations of German culture really necessary to explain the origins of National Socialism?
It seems to me that when faced with the threat of INTERNATIONAL Socialism ( right on your front door step); National Socialism is the only logical compensatory behavior?
Who is to say one form of collectivism is better than another?
Gee whiz James, I am 30 minutes into this podcast and what comes up but Pizza Gate! Amazing! This interview needs to go viral. I am listening as type and I have not head the phrase Satanic mentioned yet, but those who worship Baal have always been believers in the abuse and murder of the young as a means to “prolong” their own pathetic lives (and perhaps delay the punishment as well). It is a sign of the times as they say that so much effort has been made to suppress the battle against this, the most vile of all of the evils of our society. Write this off as hooey if you will, but it IS truth, and it is real.
Your last question of what a successful society would look like was a rhetorical one, right James, because you did a very good job of describing one in your World Made By Hand books so you certainly knew the answer to that one, didn’t you, you sly dog you….
Hi Jim & Kim listeners.
For those who might find some of the claims I make here new, here are a couple of MSM introductory links:

Not Kim, Jim! where’s the edit button. :/
I don’t want to be dismissive of these claims right off the bat, but it is incredibly difficult to believe that something so utterly sinister can not only exist, but persist, within the highest levels of class, breeding, sophistication and civilization. It is almost impossible to resist Occam’s slash and simply rule these allegations as far too impossible to be true.
But then there is the Papal Pederasts club from Hadrian’s mausoleum down to the smallest church outpost. Still alive. Still hidden.

“in this business, you gotta have a little dirt on ya in order for anybody to trust you”
Whats dirtier than abusing children?
The scenario is perfectly rational if you understand trust as the most valuable currency in the known universe?
Look at it this way; you know how gangs make you commit a murder or some vile act in order to prove yourself to the other gang members?
Well its the same thing but on a much higher (vulgar) level
Im a little more skeptical about the ability to control people thru childhood trauma but I do understand the foundation its based on; because parents use it on their own children all the time.
The main reason I can’t relate to some of my older siblings is because they are still stuck with all these unresolved issues of our parents manipulation of them.
For example, I never really understood why my older sisters were so angry and full of vinegar towards men; until I considered the possibility my father passively aggressively expressed his disappointment at his first 5 children being female… and how my sisters internalized this and to this day try to take that crap out on me AND my two brothers.
None of us really know my two oldest sisters?
My two brothers and I are very different; but we are all shat upon just the same by our two older sisters?
Its much easier to forgive them now that I understand what happened; but I wish somebody explained it to me earlier.
BTW, I found Jim’s reaction at one point, I think he said “Jesus!” to be awkwardly amusing and just the right amount of levity for a topic so depressingly vile.
Is it because Jews aren’t supposed to say “Jesus Christ!” when they are surprised or shocked?
What are they supposed to say: “oye vay?”
I haven’t heard the other thread of this discussion/interview; however, it sparks a lot of nerve impulses having to do with delusion and fantasy as manifest through our physical environ whatever that may be from what we watch, read and construct – our social constructs because we are social animals inspite of how much we hurt each other. Looking at things through a scientific lense – being removed as a god like observer, cultures require some kind of control system in order to thrive. It is delusional to think the human life form can exist outside the petri dish of the Earth. It is difficult for humans to thrive within a medium that is toxic to the organism. Also the biological processes we can never escape that include the Intense drives to procreate and how those drives can bring chaos and dysfunction when not controlled either internally or externally. I propose that Hollywood culture has become an organized religion in many respects: having stereotypes and predictable/safe outcomes, explaining the human experience by holding up a mirror, the fourth wall being God, etc. A lot of cinema is directed at teenagers and young adults whose brains are still forming and suspend disbelief more readily than an adult brain.

this is one of the lectures I Googled on Youtube (these two servers/companies have merged some time ago..maybe around the time of the video: 2013).
Social justice is in the Bible at Exodus 22:21 – 26. It is written to protect the afflicted or disadvantaged (orphans, widows, foreigners/strangers) in order meet God’s standard of compassion.
Usury is specifically condemned in verse 22:25.
Jesus said that the poor would always be with us and he and his family were poor and did not view this as bad nor a sign of laziness as the religious leaders tended to think and continue to think even to this day. What’s condemned is how people treat the poor; treat each other based on their economic advantages or disadvantages.
Jesus and his family poor? Think again. Read JAMES BROTHER OF JESUS. Google it. Been out about twenty years. One more Church myth dies.
Why would Horsley say confusing statements like animals don’t have culture? Culture by definition is a human manifestation. Animals would exhibit ‘animal culture’ if you will. And they do – unique to each spices. Very disconnected and blurred to me.
I very much enjoyed the interview with Jasun Horsley. This is one of he best podcasts you have presented Jim. I was quite impressed with Mr. Horsley. This really made me think on a variety of topics.
Many of the things Mr. Horsley discusses regarding Ideology sound very similar to the philosophy of Zizek. As a fan of cinema and philosophy, I highly recommend (to him an others) “The Pervert’s Guide to Ideology”

Also, it’s great to hear Marshall McLuhan brought up in a conversation. Nobody talks about him anymore and I find his insights into media still quite valid and important, particularly as the gates of the global village close in around us.
Cheers for the great podcast.
I love the Horsley podcasts. I picked up on him after his first interview with Kunstler and have now listened to all 100 Liminalist podcasts. Initially, I thought it was a bit weird but now I really enjoy the thought provoking nature of it.
