Behold: Seattle’s new Nordic Museum. (Museum of White Privilege?). Or is that just the box that the museum came in? Designed by Mithun architects. It comes with the usual symbolic narrative: “The new museum is organized around a linear ‘fjord’ that weaves together stories of homeland and the Nordic American experience,” the Mithun web-page declares. I’m sure. All the wearisome canonical tropes of Modernism are on-board: flat roof (check), horizontal windows (check), glass curtain wall (check), blank facades (check), industrial cladding (check). What a roster of original ideas! Perfect for a city of cubicle serfs (Microsoft… Amazon). Excellent opportunity here for BLM / Antifa activists to apply some spray-painted decoration to the otherwise boring building… if they don’t just burn it down. Thanks to Keven N. for the nomination!

Yawn! Please. . .Wake me up when they do the dedication ceremony.
Do you think they’ll rename it as:
The Caucasian Privileged Vikings Museum of Bad Behavior

Maybe a bit early to judge this one.
When they get around to removing that temporary facade, fencing and hoardings we should be getting the full impact of that nordic fjord on our eyeballs, I suspect.
A bit like the anticipation around assembling the contents of an Ikea flat pack.
I’m hungry for it, so bring it on.

I didn’t know fjord meant boring courtyard….that is awesome.

Also I want to know if they will have like a Viking hall of fame here…Eric the Red, Leif Ericson, and Fran Tarkenton can all be in the inaugural class.

I just love to buy such great authors collection since my childhood. I have got to know about them through ninjaessays prices writers books once, as i am eagerly looking forward to get some suspense thrillers from the same author. An unpredictable story is the best thing.

The right side of that iceberg reminds me I need to go change the filters in our air handling system.
