A peculiar feature of the human condition is that a society in distress will call forth intellectual witch-doctors to put on a colorful show that distracts the supposedly thinking class from the insoluble quandaries that portend serious trouble ahead. This feature is on display these days in the person of freelance space pioneer Elon Musk. He intends to establish a human colony on Mars of one million people by 2040.

Musk, who is also developer of the Tesla line of electric cars and businesses that make solar-electric gear and batteries, has tested a series of space vehicles, most recently last week’s celebrated launch of his Falcon Heavy Rocket, said to be the most powerful in the world. It is just the precursor of the soon-to-come colossus Musk calls the BFR (“Big Fucking Rocket”) that will convey as many as 200 people at a time to their new home on the Red Planet.

NPR reporter Ari Shapiro was rhapsodizing about this “Space-X” project last week on the airwaves, lending it the media stamp-of-approval. And since NPR is a major news source for the US thinking class especially, you can be sure this meme of colonizing Mars is now embedded in the brains of the Pareto distribution (“the law of the vital few”) who affect to be thought leaders in this land.

There’s an old gag about the space race of yore that goes something like this (trigger warning to the ethnically hyper-sensitive):

The UN convenes a General Assembly session on space travel. The ambassadors of various nations are asked to talk about their space projects. The Russians and the Americans tick off their prior accomplishments and announce plans to explore the planets. Finally, the ambassador from Poland takes his turn at the rostrum. “We intend to land a man on the sun,” he declares. There is a great hubbub in the assembly, cries of “say, what…?” and “wait a minute now….” The Secretary-General turns to the Polish ambassador and says, “Your scientists must be out of their minds. It’s six thousand degrees up there! How can you possibly land a spacecraft on it?” A hush falls over the assembly. The Polish ambassador looks completely relaxed and serene. “We are going to do it at night!” he announces triumphantly.

NPR’s Shapiro interviewed blogger Tim Urban of the Wait But Why blog for the segment on Musk’s space program. Here’s a sample of their conversation:

URBAN: If humanity is, you know, like a precious photo album you’ve got, the Earth is like a hard drive you have it on. And any sane person would obviously back it up to a second hard drive. That’s kind of the idea here – is all of our eggs are currently on one planet. And if we can build a self-sustaining civilization on Mars, it’s much harder for humanity to go extinct.

SHAPIRO: And a million people is about how many people he thinks it would take for a population to be self-sustaining.

URBAN: Right, self-sustaining meaning if something catastrophic happened on Earth during some world war or something that has to do with, you know, a really bad-case scenario with climate change, maybe some – I don’t know – the species went extinct on Earth but ships stopped coming with supplies and anything else, a million people is enough that Mars’ population would be fine.

Not to put too fine a point on it, I never heard so much fucking nonsense in my life. There’s absolutely nothing that might make Mars a “sustainable” habitat for human beings, or probably any other form of Earthly life. The journey alone would destroy human bodies. If you think that living in Honolulu is expensive, with most daily needs of the population shipped or flown in, imagine what it would be like sending a cargo of provisions (Doritos? Pepperoni sticks? Mountain Dew? Fabreeze?) to a million “consumers” up on Mars. Or do you suppose the colonists will “print” their food, water, and other necessities?

Elon Musk’s ventures have reportedly vacuumed in around $5 billion in federal subsidies. Mr. Musk is doing a fine job of keeping his benefactors entertained. Americans are still avid for adventures in space, where just about every other movie takes place. I suppose it’s because they take us away from the awful conundrums of making a go of it here on Earth, a planet that humans were exquisitely evolved for (or designed for, if you will), and which we are in the process of rendering uninhabitable for ourselves and lots of other creatures.

This is our home. Can we talk about the necessary adjustments and arrangements we have to make in order to continue the human project here? Just based on our performance on this blue planet, we are not qualified to infect other parts of the solar system.

YouTube has defunded sites it considers politically distasteful – such as anyone who will tell us what the MSM won’t tell us.

Michics, if you’re implying that conspiracy theorists (we prefer to call ourselves “truthers”) are in it for the money, you better come up with a more plausible narrative.

Reminds me of C.M. Kornbluth’s “The Marching Morons” in which they did launch rocket after rocket of morons into space, including the salesman from our era.

    • Elrond Hubbard February 12, 2018 at 10:04 am #

Or the Golgafrinchans in Douglas Adam’s The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, who decided that a third of their population was useless. This third, consisting of middle managers, hairdressers, telephone sanitizers and the like, was tricked into getting on a space ark to colonize another world, leaving the other two thirds (the thinkers and the do-ers) to enjoy life without all these middlemen. The space ark ultimately crash-landed on an unknown planet and millions of years later, their descendants are known as Earthlings. The Golgrafrinchans left behind all died, in a plague transmitted by dirty telephones.

I grew up on the idea of space colonization, and I still like the idea. We would have plenty of resources to do it, without depriving anyone of anything, if only so much weren’t tragically wasted on military spending. (If only…) It’s not about practicality; it’s about facing the challenges of a new frontier. But boy, is space challenging. For example, up to 1% of the Martian soil consists of poisonous perchlorates. Mr. Musk might want to think of a different destination for his one million colonists.

      • TiredOfTheTreadmill February 12, 2018 at 10:37 am #

Never read The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Sounds good. Also sounds as plausible of an origin story as any I’ve heard from the major religions.

During my younger days I too believed we would already have space colonies and all the other science fiction goodies. However, I now trend more toward the dystopian versions of our future. Thus far all the techno gadgets and robots have not meant happier, healthier, more enjoyable lives for humanity. Rather the opposite seems more apparent in that as robots and gizmos replace humans in the workplace, the wealth goes right upward and those humans without jobs end up discarded like any other used up and thrown out item in our society. Hard drug use is up too. Escaping the sci-fi, economic wonderland seems more desirable to many than embracing it.

Also, after 56 years on this planet I now lean more toward viewing the dark side of technology. Sure, it may make a few things more convenient, but it’s also capable of imprisoning us too. Since we live in a culture that LOVES to punish people, most technology will seek that end. Or, it’ll be used for marketing to sell us more stupid crap. I am certain my inclination toward decline/collapse is due to my being fed up with all of the unescapable techno stupidity that surrounds us each day. I try my best to temper this bias when reading and interpreting what’s going. At least I know it’s there.

You’ve got to read Hitchhiker’s if you are going to get all the references! The humor is the usual British subtle kind, such as “this is the second book in a trilogy of four”.

Adams was poking fun at the preponderance of sci-fi trilogies at the time.

Then, when you ask a question and someone responds with “42” you’ll get it.

        • Janos Skorenzy February 12, 2018 at 2:02 pm #

Quite so: it’s only a boon when used for human benefit, not profit for the few.

One old science fiction meme is the advanced race who lives very simply. When first contacted, they look backwards. Only over time does it become clear that they are technically very advanced but live simply for pleasure and health.

        • SW February 12, 2018 at 3:34 pm #

The Sheep Look Up by John Brunner was written in 1970 and is on par with other dystopian classics but not as well known. Water is undrinkable, the rich live in compounds (fairly unusual 50 years ago) and shop at specialty grocery stores that sell only “organic” food.

          • LagingRunatic February 14, 2018 at 5:34 pm #

Yes, agreed! *The Sheep Look Up* and *Stand on Zanzibar,* also by Brunner, are *stellar* and should be read by all fans of this blog.

      • michics February 12, 2018 at 12:37 pm #

Jim is right. This colonization of Mars is the most absurb idea anyone can come up with. If we want some people to live on a dead planet we can just try it out on the moon for awhile. Of course if we want a fantasy then try on the conspiracy theory that NASA already has a base on Mars.

      • Janos Skorenzy February 12, 2018 at 1:59 pm #

Bravo Elrond. I didn’t know you had any of Prometheus left in you. But Mr Kunstler is right, for now at least, about Mars. The Way to Go if we do go, is habitats in space, mining the asteroids, setting Jupiter on fire, etc. Only much later when we have more advanced technology could we consider taking on Mars and seeing if we could terraform it. Who know? Maybe there’s still a lot of water underneath the surface. And it will warm up once we turn Jupiter into a Sun….

    • elysianfield February 12, 2018 at 11:28 am #

      TOTT,
Interesting that you mentioned Kornbluth…In my extreme youth, I read and re-read Pohl and Kornbluth’s novel of the dystopian future…”The Space Merchants”, detailing the rise of the Corporate state….

      • TiredOfTheTreadmill February 12, 2018 at 1:27 pm #

Yeah, Kornbluth died too young. Would have to read his take on all of this as he grew older. Always like Pohl too. I readily relate to their take on humanity.

        • TiredOfTheTreadmill February 12, 2018 at 1:30 pm #

That is…I would have loved to read his take on all this… Even with the auto correct off on this tablet it still does weird things when I type. Or maybe it’s just me these days.

  4. DrTomSchmidt February 12, 2018 at 9:43 am #

Yeah, I’d have skipped the Polish Joke. Potemkin villages in the sky would be a better metaphor.

Old joke: There was a resolution at the UN in 1979 to blow up Mars but the US and the West wanted no part of it. They decided to let the Reds Plan it.

Musk’s problem is the same problem we have had since Plato in the Wet and the Axial age generally: rationality, meaning the ability or desire to express everything as a ratio of two numbers. It developed as a consequence of coinage. The “rationalists” have been using their power over numbers (and their undeniable raw human intelligence) to stick it to people who are more connected to Donatella Meadows’ idea of systems thinking.

Pu simply: Musk doesn’t have a number to put on the value supplied to humanity by the blue-green algae creating oxygen, and all the other natural processes. So the number he uses is 0, pretending that mankind doesn’t need something he values at 0.

Of course, this same inability to value things outside a “rational” (and nowadays, with probability, irrational) model has caused all of our other miscalculations, starting with the meltdown in 2008. At least with Musk we get the dream of space.

  6. Paulo February 12, 2018 at 9:48 am #

Well said. Musk is the ultimate Flim Flam man; a real grifter. It is hard to believe people believe his bullshit with such fervour. In fact, it borders on a religious following and dare to be the one who criticises this new prophet over a dinner table. Talk about wishful thinkers…ooops, wishful non-thinkers.

Is it too much to ask people to just pick up their garbage on their way out? And turn off the lights? I kind of like Earth and accept we could do a better job as we wind our numbers down. Hopefully. We have to fuck up another planet, too?

    • JMR February 12, 2018 at 10:55 am #

Maybe Musk is actually doing us a favor by proving that none of this crap actually works or is sustainable. Maybe it takes proving that electric cars aren’t going to solve any energy or pollution problems, and that it’s impossible to establish a permanent presence on Mars.

With these magical technological solutions disproven, maybe people will see that we need to come up with more practical solutions to our problems.

      • elysianfield February 12, 2018 at 11:31 am #

        JMR,
You KNOW that object lessons are the easiest to understand….

      • bhnj13 February 12, 2018 at 1:59 pm #

i think it would make a lot more sense to have a base on the moon first, as proof of concept and to test and develop the means to colonize other planets and moons but why is it impossible to have a permanent presence on mars? i agree its probably decades away if we were to seriously pursue it now but why impossible?

        • JMR February 12, 2018 at 2:38 pm #

I guess it’s not totally impossible, but the probability depends largely on what sort of energy inputs we’ll have to get us there and to supply such a place and to power the whole operation. Nuclear? If you follow JHK’s line of thinking we’re not going to have enough fossil fuels to supply such endeavors. I don’t think it’s going to happen due to cost.

      • DrGonzo February 12, 2018 at 9:41 pm #

Indeed. What about Musk’s amazing high-speed underground vacuum tubes to zip cars around? I watched his stupid TED video. Get this: cars would queue up to get loaded into the tube like a shotgun shell ONE AT A TIME using an ELEVATOR.

Seriously? You don’t think there will be any BOTTLENECK of cars queuing up for the damn ELEVATOR, Elon? What an imbecile..

    • TiredOfTheTreadmill February 12, 2018 at 1:42 pm #

Oh, there are a ton of people who are just waiting for people like Musk to show up and be their savior. Remember the lunatics that elevated Steve Jobs to guru status with candle light walks after his death?

Contrary to JHK’s allergy to conspiracies, I put many of them in Agnostic/Don’t Know file anymore. There are a shit ton of people in this country who can’t handle the truth, don’t want the truth, and never ever want to get any truth on themselves. Ever. As such, maybe the deep state knows this and operates accordingly.

The one thing I do know is we’ve all had so much BS blown up our behinds, that determining the truth anymore is a full-time job and then some. Which is a conspiracy theory about the deep state CIA itself. That they get us to the point of not knowing what’s true and what isn’t.

    • Janos Skorenzy February 12, 2018 at 2:04 pm #

What about his electric cars? No good?

  7. Neon Vincent February 12, 2018 at 9:51 am #

I was wondering whether you’d write about SpaceX launch of the Falcon Heavy. Even Stephen Colbert, big space booster that he is, thought the image of sending a red convertible blasting Bowie’s “Life on Mars” into the dark void a winning example of a midlife crisis. To top it off, the dashboard read “Don’t Panic,” a reference to the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy books, radio show, and movie. That was enough to get him to crown Musk “King Nerd.” James Corden also remarked on the phallic imagery of it all, wondering if the rocket should be blurred on national TV.

As for “adventures in space, where just about every other movie takes place,” the current award-winning science fiction movies and TV shows aren’t set there. “The Shape of Water” takes place in the U.S. of the past, “Get Out” in Alabama (yes, that’s where it was shot) of the present, and “Blade Runner 2049” and “The Handmaid’s Tale” in an environmentally ruined former U.S. of the future. No space in any of them. Only “The Last Jedi” goes there, and it isn’t winning any Oscars.

    • Neon Vincent February 12, 2018 at 10:04 am #

By the way, Happy Darwin Day! May our thinking, like the Coywolves and “living fossils,” continue to evolve!

  8. Paul Ford O'Neil February 12, 2018 at 9:52 am #

    Hello James,

I could scarcely believe my eyes when I read the international news over the weekend and saw the behavior of VP & 2nd. Lady Pence towards the North Koreans at the ‘Korean Olympics’ and how US ‘newspapers’ spun this behavior.

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/vice-president-mike-pence-should-be-furious-with-south-korea/article/2648644

A ‘US resident’ attends an international gathering with the Korean family and then ignores their relatives as if they were ‘uncle fester’ & ‘cousin it’, causing much embarrassment to their hosts – and are supposed to be insulted that they were invited?

A real American would have greeted Kim Yo Jong and Kim Yong Nam warmly and wished them well – perhaps even wishing them peace and prosperity.

Instead ‘junior-prom night’ petulance forbade the VEEP to even acknowledge the ‘outsiders’ – much less act like a statesman!

    Three words people:

    RARE – EARTH – ELEMEMNTS

    https://thediplomat.com/2014/01/north-korea-may-have-two-thirds-of-worlds-rare-earths/

    Disgustedly,
    PFO

    • GreenAlba February 12, 2018 at 11:25 am #

I thought Pence was meant to be a big Christian. What happened to ‘Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you’? Translated into diplo-speak perhaps as ‘Be civil to your enemies and show them how grown-ups can behave’.

I’d like to think that I might be slightly less delusional than Elon Musk by just hoping that North and South might eventually get together and re-unite some (perhaps considerable) way down the road. I may be way off beam – and anyway it’s only in my own head so completely harmless. It must be a less damaging delusion than throwing a whole load of your resources into building a Walmart on Mars.

      • elysianfield February 12, 2018 at 11:44 am #

“What happened to ‘Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you’? ”

        Well….

“Joshua 10:19 King James Version (KJV)

19 And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the Lord your God hath delivered them into your hand

        Alba,
Best not to use the Bible as a an absolute to chart your path…always another quote that is contra-indicative of your premise….

        • GreenAlba February 12, 2018 at 11:56 am #

Old Testament, elysianfield. Not the same thing. 🙂

There was rather a lot of smiting in the OT.

And I’m not using it to chart my path – Pence claims to, though.

I still think visiting statesmen/-women should behave like grown-ups. Or they should decline to attend functions if they know people they can’t speak to will be there.

          • Janos Skorenzy February 12, 2018 at 2:07 pm #

Real Christians don’t reject the Old Testament and the Church Fathers never accepted pacifism as a social policy. I mean we’d all be speaking Arabic and/or Turkish if we hadn’t fought the Jihad. So stop being fatuous….

      • Elrond Hubbard February 12, 2018 at 11:50 am #

Voltaire dubbed religion ‘the name we give to our prejudices’. Indeed, how often Christianity is just a label, and how readily people make the label their substitute for being Christ-like. There’s nothing I trust less than outward shows of piety.

        • GreenAlba February 12, 2018 at 12:04 pm #

In fairness, I think it’s sometimes the name ‘we’ give our moral aspirations* as well, even when we know we can’t live up to them. Although you’re right about hiding behind labels too.

          “I smile when I’m angry
          I cheat and I lie
I do what I have to do
          To get by
But I know what is wrong
And I know what is right
And I’d die for the truth
          In my secret life”

*In terms of making up these overarching metaphysical stories in the first place, which wasn’t always knowingly devious, I assume.

There are who credit Him with all things and all misfortune as well. I am not one of those people. There are forces of evil and I know them well and I give credit where credit is due. I do not believe that we are handed down suffering as some sort of test or even as punishment. I do believe however, that we shall be judged on how we react to such things and how we deal with them. There are forces of good and those of evil. Credit for either must be properly placed before wise decisions can be made.

And what kind of God would God be if God never communicated with Man? Your denial of revelation makes God into an indifferent entity at best. Many of the Founders believed in this kind of Masonic entity though – with the idea that Man would make a better god…

          • Walter B February 12, 2018 at 9:13 pm #

JS, who said that God does not communicate with man? Who denies revelation or did you mean Revelation as in the Book of? You have not utilized sufficient words to communicate your point, at least for me. Could you provide more detail please?

          • Janos Skorenzy February 12, 2018 at 10:36 pm #

I thought you did when you agreed with Scratch about the evils of man made religion. By definition, the religions, or at least the true ones, begin as revelations – and not merely or only man made. As Aquinas said, the misuse of something says nothing about the thing itself. Ditto its corruption. That the revelations get mangled is not news since people are so corrupt.

          • Walter B February 12, 2018 at 10:43 pm #

Corrupt, indeed they are JS, indeed they are. That is why religion which is man made has very limited value. Fortunately for us, we are invited to go directly to Him and He always listens. He is always there and has fulfilled His promise to His people to send One To Show The Way. Cut out the middle man, he takes his spot for profit, not for function. The Word has been given. The Path is direct and available to all. Take it, it is the one least travelled. It leads home.

        • Newton Finn February 12, 2018 at 7:48 pm #

So also thought the now-forgotten founder of the Christian movement. “Beware of making a show of your religion before men.”

          • Walter B February 13, 2018 at 12:30 pm #

Because shows are meant for profit and entertainment and movements are best performed by an orchestra. The best we can hope for is to set an example and if that example has value it can be followed or not, it is not ours to determine only to present the best example we can maintain.

Mars has a few good qualities that would be good for us humans. It is on the edge of the habitual zone and has a day that is of similar length to Earth.

Mars however would not be good for us unless we could magically terraform it to have a thicker atmosphere and a molten core for making a magnetic field.

If we could do this, Mars would be the perfect place to live on as the sun ages and gets brighter at a rate of about 10% every 100 million years.

To get a thicker atmosphere we would have to bombard Mars with many billions of tons of rock from the asteroids and we don’t have that ability. We would also have to fill the center of the planet with enough actinides to form a planetary scale breeder reactor like the one that is theorized to exist in Earth. That reactor would have to power the heat needed to melt iron and form the magnetic field required to shield the planet’s surface from some of the cosmic radiation.

I agree that Elon is running a circus stunt right now. Terraforming Mars would be a process that would take thousands of human generations to complete.

We might be better off looking for an Orange Dwarf star nearby with a large rocky planet in the habitable zone and settling there.

I’d call myself a techno-utopian, but even I think Musk’s plan is ridiculous – for many reasons. I go back and forth on whether we should commit to a more vigorous space program or straighten out our messes here on Earth first. Your last sentence about infecting other planets is something I think about a lot. Space has existed for 14 billion years; it can wait for a long time more before it welcomes us.

BTW, what is it about Mars that makes people want to colonize it, rather than the moon or orbiting space colonies? If we want to utilize part of our global resources to proceed into space, these would be the most reasonable solutions. Still, it’s questionable we will even survive as a species. We got a lot of growing up to do.

I doubt that Elon Musk, or anyone else for that matter, truly believes we can have a colony of human beings on Mars.

But what he has done is to reap $5 billion in federal subsidies.

Not a bad take for a fairy tale.

  14. swhite February 12, 2018 at 10:11 am #

I don’t remember the details, but some decades ago one of the well-known science fiction writers wrote a story about humans inhabiting Mars, and in the story they trashed the place just like they had done to Earth.

    • Elrond Hubbard February 12, 2018 at 11:54 am #

On the bright side there’s Kim Stanley Robinson, who is also pretty well known. In his Mars trilogy, we end up making Mars a pretty great place to live.

  15. peakfuture February 12, 2018 at 10:12 am #

    Amen, Jim.

1 million people on Mars by 2040. It is 2018. In 22 years? Assuming a population growth rate of 4% of 100 people sent in 5 years (2023), this would get you a population of about 200 people in 2040; native growth won’t get you there.

If you were to just send people there (ignoring Mars births), starting with 100 people in 2023, a transportation growth rate of 50% (insane) would get you to 300K people by 2040. A 50% growth rate in anything, especially in something like space travel seems outlandish. Even Moore’s Law for semiconductors, one of the most amazing growth stories ever, had a doubling every two years.

Unless someone comes up with really cheap transport to orbit (on the order of having a space elevator, anti-gravity, or completely reusable spacecraft with costs on the order of commercial air travel), this is beyond comprehension. John Michael Greer has written a lot about Musk’s pronouncements and gimmicks; I can’t find the reference right now, but his commentary is spot on. If Musk is so confident in keeping a Mars colony going, it would be great for him to sponsor a research group trying to keep 1000+ people alive in a remote place on *Earth*, for starters (I think some place in the mountains of South America was suggested).

If you are planning things for the really long term, and you have even an inkling that mankind (or some other species) might colonize Mars one day, one long term bet would be to send tailored bacteria to Mars *now* to start some sort of terraforming process.

A million people by 2040 seems incredibly wild. I think this is an issue with people who have made it big in the software world. Hardware doesn’t scale like software does, and space travel is a lot harder than everyone thinks. Unfortunately, Star Trek and a lot of science fiction have handwaved a lot of that difficulty.

Elon Musk is gay, but not in a stupid way!

Flight to Mars is a cover story, his real goal is to establish a Helium-3 robotic base mining operation on the Moon and bring it back to Earth in economically feasible way.

As reported in an Artemis Project paper, about 25 tonnes of helium-3 — or a fully-loaded Space Shuttle cargo bay’s worth — could power the United States for a year.

    http://www.asi.org/adb/02/09/he3-intro.html

Flight to Mars will have to wait, since outside of the Earth magnetosphere any life will be killed by cosmic rays in about 15 minutes, and you need a superconducting double solenoid to emulate Earth magnetic field, which will bring the launch weight to about 64 thousand tons, not just 64 tons like on Space-X.

But he can’t say that for obvious reasons of casting a shadow on Americans landing on the Moon in 1969.

If he succeeds, he will turn US into an energy super-power exporting thermonuclear technologies and fuel.

    Fly, Elon!, Fly!

On the plus side, all that radioactive fallout should do a nice job of increasing genetic mutation. Considering that before things are all said and done we’ll have wiped out a majority of the biodiversity on Earth, those mutations should help species proliferate rapidly once we’re gone.

In November 1983 my father and I were talking about the recent TV special The Day After and about the nuclear freeze movement that was current at the time. (The Day After was about a nuclear attack on Kansas City, you may recall.)

My father commented, “Maybe it’s a bad species, meant to go extinct.”

The species he was referring to, of course, was Homo sapiens. He meant that evolution removes bad species, that is, those that are not able to adapt to conditions on earth.

Our host is expressing a similar sentiment.

Starry-eyed techno-kids like to dream of settling space! Going to Mars! But the actual reality is so stark. Imagine Antarctica. Living there is incredibly harsh. One can think of going there – for a few months. Well Antarctica is Hawai compared to Mars. At least in Antarctica you can… just breathe. You have water all around. You can venture outside with just clothes. In an emergency a medical evacuation to civilization or outside rescue team are possible. On Mars, nothing can be taken for granted. And any technical failure, any rare event could kill you or wipe out the entire expedition or base. And you would not be there for just a few months or even year. But forever. Your kids, if any, would be born and grow up there. The long-term effects of an alien environment on human physical and mental health are unknown. Would you, dear reader, sign up for it?

Kim Stanley Robinson, noted science-fiction writer, had a novel, ‘Aurora’, about humans going for the stars. Characters in the novel developed this thesis that the cosmos is so incredibly hostile to us earthlings who evolved for a very specific mix of gravity, temperature, chemistry etc. that finding a shelter outside of Earth is a pipe dream. That was a trauma to a lot of SF readers.

    • michael February 12, 2018 at 1:37 pm #

I admit I listen to National Propaganda Radio (and I’m still technically a Democrat) as I get ready for work, it is the most tolerable noise on the radio, but NPR needs to be called out for the shit it purveys. The anti-Russian hysteria boils over at times, the pro-Hillary-anti Trump bogusity, the stories about the first gay Trans-sexual person of color who’s gender is unknown from Alabama, it’s all to much sometimes.

I used to be an everyday listener. I still listen on the weekends to some of the music shows, jazz, Americana, roots stuff. They used to be a little more objective when people like Juan Williams hadn’t been discarded for telling the truth. They like most everyone else can’t handle the truth. I’ve never donated a dime to their cause. I had been tempted by some of the better programming in the past but never succumbed. Now I’m damn glad I never financially supported them. They have become an extreme bleeding heart, left wing, nut case bag of flaming faggots. There isn’t much middle ground in the media these days. Now I listen to satellite radio a lot and some internet radio for music. If I turn on NPR and hear Trump bashing, diversity preaching, gay pride bullshit I’ll switch to Breitbart. There I’m subjected to more extremes on the other end. Some idiot wanting to privatize social security, Hannity worshipping Reagan, who I never thought was such a saint, on the contrary he was a senile old fool who really left a big fucking mess. Good at public oratory though. So was Hitler. I’m still on the fence with Trump. I won’t comment on his oratory. Left wing media says he doesn’t know what he wants to do about immigration!!! I believe he has stated quite clearly that he and the sane American populace want a Wall, an End to chain migration, An end to the visa lottery and compliance with EVerify.

Going to space is a delusional joke. It has taken Earth 4.5 billion years to develop the biological infrastructure to support the level of life it now contains including us. We are the stewards of this planet, this mess that is currently occurring is our fault and our problem. Someone or something has given us the intelligence to work out our natural problems and folks, we are blowing it big time. We are a product of the biome of this planet. How the hell are we going to take the food pyramid to Mars that has no resources, air, oxygen, temperate climate to grow or produce anything? Any farmer will tell you that the growing conditions for crops have to be optimized for success. And as before mentioned, without the protection afforded to us by earth, namely gravity and the magnetic field and ozone, the sun will fry us alive. Space may be a great adventure, a place to obtain resources maybe but as a substitute for our beloved Gaia, forget it. And by the way, getting space resources, you think fracking is an expensive proposition, ha. Anyway, we better figure out how to coexist here fairly quickly, or we shall follow 99% of the former species on this planet.

Mars is a grand idea! And it’s only fitting that the richest among us should go first – like it or not. And in the interest of self-sustainability, I’d shoot for that million number right away as well. Let’s supersize the BFRs and start cranking them out as fast as humanly possible – and WTF! – let’s shoot for 10 million while we’re at it. The rest of us can stay here and “eat dirt,” just as the rich have always wished we would, and they can colonize Mars and eat… well, whatever it is that foolish humans hopelessly out of their element can find to eat.

If only Sir Isaac Newton had an access to Wikipedia, we wouldn’t have a bothersome Classical Mechanics, but instead a nice Wikipedia entry explaining why the law of gravity is impossible to formulate and you need a latest IPhone to shut up up and calculate.

Nope, FInca – Wiki’s fine for reading about Mars Bars – or resumes of films or books. Or a lot of other things.

Horses for courses… If I were studying Classical Mechanics, I’d be…well, studying Classical Mechanics.

Like many of musk’s ideas, we could probably eventually have a sustainable colony on mars, but the concept is so far from reality today that to make estimates on timing, expense, population etc. is foolish. 1 million people by 2040 is completely pulled out of his ass as was the the expected launch dates and production estimates for everything else he’s done. But he has done them – usually not on schedule or on budget but he’s done them. Having said that i do think the boring company will be a huge failure and will never “launch”.
I give musk credit though because he actively works on solutions for problems that he sees and he is pushing consumers in the right direction with his products. I know jim would say he’s missing the point because our whole system and way of life needs to change but musk makes people think it doesn’t have to, that everything can just be converted to electric which is untrue. Until we get to the point of systemic change in this country away from happy motoring (good luck!) more renewables and less oil consumption is the next best thing, which musk promotes.
His timetables are bs, his products expensive and his self-promotion shameless but i believe his vision and followthrough is real, which is something that is sorely lacking anywhere else you look in this country. We, as a nation, don’t do great projects anymore. We don’t. At least musk is trying. I think that’s why he’s so popular.

Coal is real and waiting for us. Steampunk future. Mechanics not electronics! Machines not replacing us but enhancing us – and not us, them. We won’t have to go to the gym anymore, your own home and workplace will be the gym what with all the gear and wheels.

It is mind-blowing that supposedly intelligent people think colonizing Mars is even a remote possibility.

    • FincaInTheMountains February 12, 2018 at 11:31 am #

The problem in your reasoning is that they not only intelligent, they are fucking rich!

      • Walter B February 12, 2018 at 11:41 am #

And that is what it is really all about, being rich and getting richer! The profits realized by those that supply this industry make larger profits that everyone else put together and are ALWAYS “subsidized” heavily by governments around the world. After all, really cool new weapons are always coming out of the research aren’t they? While the rich do not touch weapons themselves, their lackeys are always very well armed.

        • Janos Skorenzy February 12, 2018 at 2:51 pm #

The public and private sectors can never be kept separate. The Far East always understood that and set up Fascist states under the appearance of Western style democracies. In other words, the State should be the senior partner and not the Corporations as it is in with us. Under the rubric of Democracy, we are a Plutocracy. Democracy is always a cover for something since it is not viable in itself. The Founders loathed it needless to say.

          • SpeedyBB February 12, 2018 at 4:16 pm #

Amen, Mr Skorenzy. To talk about ‘democracy’ in places like Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore or Indonesia is beyond delusional, when you see clearly that it is money politics, backed by military muscle, that powers these modern Fascist plutocracies.

          • Billy Hill February 12, 2018 at 4:32 pm #

Was in Japan in January on business. The Japanese were having difficulty understanding the concerns of the American contingent with potential product delivery issues resulting from labor strife or civil unrest. “This is Japan. There is no civil unrest.” Ditto the rest of the Asian polities listed above. True, Japan’s cultural cohesiveness is a special case. Singapore is possibly the most diverse but it too has that orderliness we envy, until, as Americans, we time out and crave the sight of trash littering the streets and gunfire echoing through the urban canyon.

          • Janos Skorenzy February 12, 2018 at 7:14 pm #

No Speedy. Fascism is a thing – not a pejorative for any political system or politician you don’t like. And it is the exact opposite of Plutocracy where the Corporations control the State to maximize their own profits. Under Fascism, the State controls the Corporations for the good on the Nation. Get it? 180 degrees different.

Immigration is the perfect example: Japan has none because none is needed. They value themselves far too much to water down their genotype and culture with aliens. In contrast, America is being transformed into a 3rd World Country all because of the desire for cheap labor and welfare votes – the welfare the cheap wages make necessary. Of the original America and its people, nothing will soon be left. And you levy the final insult and call it Fascism?

          • Billy Hill February 13, 2018 at 6:52 am #

In Japan those performing menial tasks are all Japanese. Not Cambodian or African. They wear white gloves and take great pride in their work, whether changing bed linens or sweeping streets. It is a world of which we can but dream.

          • Billy Hill February 13, 2018 at 7:02 am #

            One last comment:
Was waiting to board flight to LAX watching the ground crew their orange batons shepherding the jets into the gates. The marshall brought his batons together slowly above his head signaling the pilot to stop and cut engines. With a flourish he brought both batons down behind his back and respectfully bowed to the jet.

          • Janos Skorenzy February 13, 2018 at 12:57 pm #

So I’m 100 percent wrong about Japan? That’s your contention? That replacement of the Japanese people is going on to match the replacement of the White race? Fatuous.

They’ve made their decision: they’ve opted for Life and to replace their aging workers with robots. But of course, that’s a danger too. And the other voices, those who want revenge for WW2, or the proponents of “Americanism” and Nihilism are present in Japan too. In other words, I don’t say you are 100% wrong, even though you imply I am. I just say you are largely wrong.

Question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how much pleasure would it give you to see Japan flooded with the 3rd World just for the sake of doing it – even though such people will not serve Japan in any way, shape, or form; Or for the sake of some nebulous “justice”, even though it would wreck and end forever an ancient nation.

          • GreenAlba February 13, 2018 at 1:16 pm #

You said their was ‘no’ immigration, so yes, on that particular point you were indeed 100% wrong.

I didn’t ‘imply’ anything. I just said you were wrong and you were.

The rest is your usual *fatuous* (your word of the week?) nonsense about my motives, my wishes, my expectations etc., which I thought you were going to stop. Basically you just don’t like being caught out telling porkies. Nobody does. Get over it.

It is the cornucopian mindset. The endless horn of plenty. The oil well what never stops flowing.

You think it is mind blowing but consider this. If you can pull the self-deception off and become a cornucopian you have no responsibilities at all. You can believe in any damn happy ending you want! No worries.

There are benefits to being an cornucopian, benefits to being stupid. This suggests your definition of intelligence needs a bit of work.

As does our overall definition of what a sociopath is.

I find the idea of colonizing Mars too stupid to talk about. I do like well written sci-fi and have no trouble telling the difference between that and real science. Real science iis cis-gendered. Male and Female. The Kng of Science is Physics and his queen is Mathematics. They make sweet music together.

If you know a bit of the Queens story you would not consider colonization of MARS by an energy starved world even remotely possible.

Why isn’t it? I don’t think it’s the best choice for our first permanent base somewhere, i think our moon makes a lot more sense. As to the possibility of it there are natural features on mars that would offer protection from radiation ie. caves and lava tubes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caves_of_Mars_Project)
Costs need to come down, public support needs to go up and we’re probably decades away but it is possible. We’ve landed plenty of rovers there in the past. We could have landed people there already if we built off of the Apollo momentum but we went to the cheaper space shuttle program instead.
Is mars a worthy investment? What’s the economic return, if any? Does it make more sense to try it elsewhere first? Those are good questions but it should be technically possible in the near future to have some kind of base there.

Instead of exploring the Solar System, we decided to take care of minorities instead. The more we feed, the more they will breed.

Imagine if we worshiped Bears and devoted ourselves to taking care of them. The bears would expand out of Yellowstone and soon be jacking people for their McDonald’s Happy meals in Caspar, as they do now at Yellowstone. And from every National Park huge numbers of Bears would spread into every town and village, killing and raping (well not raping) and shaking people down for their happy meals. And yes, invading homes and rummaging thru the fridge. People would make offering and run. Others, more devout, would dream of being killed for their fries or big mac.

None of the above is exaggeration. It’s exactly what we are doing with Black Africans and other minorities. We could have an advanced civilization or we can have a minority cult. Not both.

Elon Musk is a dreamer. He needs to be harnessed to put his dreaming towards practical subjects. Increasing the efficiency of batteries and solar systems is a great idea. Boring tunnels for transportation sounds good, but will it cause problems with water purity, earthquakes, or ??. Fracking in OK is causing quakes, what will tunnels do? But let him dream, we need his forward thinking.

The Church describes a place called Purgatory to punish the dead for their earthly transgressions. I have a new word for Putgatory – Mars.

What a special treat you have cooked up for us this morning Jim, thank you, it is a tasty one indeed. I do not pay any attention to the sources that tout such things as this Musky fellow and what he does and I certainly have no use whatsoever for Space Adventures either. Besides polluting the near Earth atmosphere with tin can satellites by the gazillion, the only thing that ever comes out of the space race is bigger and better weapons of mass destruction for use down here.

There is a subspecies of humans that exist here that believe not only in every form of technology that is dangled in front of their noses, but they actually believe that mankind, in all of its wonderfulness, will always solve any and all of the problems that they create with more technologies. Feed the hungry with 3D printers. Replace missing parts with bionic replacements. Install Artificial Intelligence so no one has to work or think anymore (not that they can anyway). They are what is called Techno-Tards., and because they lack articulated necks, they are incapable of looking back or to either side. Forward and “upward” is all they see. Writers throughout history (filmmakers only take the written and turn it into moving picture) have always consider was what, what is and what may or will be. They have given us The concept of space travel, voyages to the bottom of the sea, failure of resources and societal calamity, and artificial intelligence devices that wipe out mankind after taking over. Techno-Tards may be able to take such writings and such films and dream of unending Happy Endings, but they are incapable of understand exactly what they are inviting into the party.

“For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.”

I don’t have a problem with electric cars per se. I use hybrid buses and, along with the tram, they keep some diesel pollution from pedestrians, cyclists and even other drivers.

My little grandson goes to a school with a playground right next to a T junction where people stop, idle and start all day long at the traffic lights. It’s one of the schools the Council is monitoring for the damage the vehicle pollution could be doing to the kids’ lungs.

That doesn’t mean I believe in the ‘driving to Walmart forever’ meme – I don’t even have a car – but while people have them, I’m happy for them to drive electric ones rather than petrol or diesel.

The Green school of Communism is a big step up for Communism – and a big step down for Conservation and Ecology.

I might be alone on this blog in thinking Musk’s stunt was fun to watch, both whimsical and also clever advertising. It got our minds off the mire into which we seem permanently stuck, and it did not involve–between commercials–large overpaid men giving each other traumatic brain injuries.

Be that as it may, Musk is not the utopian nutjob he may seem to be, whatever implausible Martian adventure he proposes. That Falcon Heavy rocket is not nearly big enough for the Mars-colony launches. Instead, the car in space was proof that Musk’s big phallic tube can launch heavy commercial payloads a LOT cheaper than the equally subsidized competitors’ big phallic tubes.

DoD wants that, as do a lot of commercial outfits. Musk needs the money to subsidize his other schemes.

In other words, his was the best Superbowl ad that didn’t run during the Superbowl.

    • daveed February 12, 2018 at 12:14 pm #

I have read that Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, has built a super-jumbo aeroplane to take rockets high up into the atmosphere, from whence they would launch, thereby saving oodles of fuel that would normally be consumed during a launch from the ground. I would search for a link, but I’m worried that the source for the story might be NPR. And you can’t trust those Fascio/Gender-bending/Marxists with anything, apparently.

Bro Jobe: “The car in space was proof that Musk’s big phallic tube can launch heavy commercial payloads a LOT cheaper than the equally subsidized competitors’ big phallic tubes.”

The Falcon Heavy is an absurdly low-cost heavy lift rocket
The new SpaceX rocket seriously undercuts its competitors.

      https://arstechnica.com/science/2018/02/three-years-of-sls-development-could-buy-86-falcon-heavy-launches/

… “The Falcon Heavy rocket, with reusable side boosters, costs $90 million. For a fully expendable variant of the rocket, which can lift a theoretical maximum of 64 tons to low-Earth orbit, the price is $150 million. While it is not certified yet, SpaceX says its rocket can hit all Department of Defense reference orbits; however big and gnarly the military wants to build its satellites, and whatever crazy orbit it wants to put them into, the Falcon Heavy can do it.

“Only the Delta IV Heavy rocket, manufactured by the United Launch Alliance, also has this capability today. It is more expensive, but how much more is a matter of some debate. On Twitter this week, the chief executive of the Colorado-based rocket company, Tory Bruno, said the Delta IV Heavy costs about $350 million per flight. This figure, however, is strikingly lower than what Bruno cited during a congressional hearing in 2015, when he asserted that, ‘A Delta IV, depending on the configuration, costs between $400 and $600 million dollars.’ …

“The bottom line is that the Falcon Heavy is a more powerful rocket than the Delta IV Heavy, and by various measures the latter will probably soon cost the US government about five times as much. Put another way, the Department of Defense may have to pay half a billion dollars more for a single launch of certain military satellites on the Delta IV Heavy versus the Falcon Heavy.”

Trying to save money for the military-industrial-Congressional complex misses the point entirely. I fully expect the MIC to swallow the extra half-billion of expense in one gulp, burp happily, and waddle back to the trough for more. But surely Musk will find paying customers somewhere.

Have you ever noticed that it’s impossible to guess what Jim is going to write about? I would never have guessed it would be about Elon Musk and his Space X rocket trick. I would have guessed he’d be writing about the Winter Olympics and more specifically about the preternaturally graceful ‘male’ figure skater, Adam Rippon.

It’s a tossup as to who is the more flaming, limp-wristed, soy-boy, Adam Rippon or the last Olympics’ Johnny Weir(d). Johnny is doing commentary now with a coif that will leave straights scratching their heads.

This guy has too much time and money.

“Originally, the $100,000 electric Tesla Roadster, chosen by Musk as a whimsical experimental payload for the Falcon Heavy’s maiden flight, had been intended to reach a heliocentric orbit roughly the same distance from the sun as Mars, and orbit for a billion years.

On its new trajectory, the world’s first car-turned-spacecraft will take a months-long cruise through deep space before taking its chances in the circumstellar asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, where the risk of a catastrophic collision is greater”.

Will Musk soon try for the exoplanets? Thank God he’s not trying to build a Dyson sphere.

Brings back the old song, “you may leave here for four days in space, but when you return it’s the same old place”, except that isn’t true, it just gets worse.

My first venture on the moon failed miserably. I opened a restaurant there and it failed because it didn’t have any atmosphere.

In fairness to Musk and Shapiro, at 200 occupants per rocket, that’s less than five flights per week, assuming that the project begins today, to reach that goal of a million Martians by the year 2040.

Of course, there’s the small detail that there has yet to be a successful biosphere project, without people slipping out of the airlock at night to get a cheeseburger down the road, because the garden has turned to mush. But I’m sure Elon has those small details all worked out.

New York rumors or how to put pieces of truth into a single whole

The question arises: why should readers of this blog figure out the intrigues of the serpentarium sitting in the Washington swamp, and monitor Trump’s attempts to drain this swamp?

The answer is very simple – part of the serpentarium in this swamp has tasked itself to destroy Russia and for this purpose is ready to set the United States up for destruction.

And the swamp is called the swamp by the US president who is persistently trying to drain it, and his electoral base is persistently trying to remind him that the main promise of his election campaign was his promise to put Hillary Clinton behind bars.

The most interesting thing is that on Russian television people who for years have been calling for love of the Shining City on the Hill, when this hill was a swamp and a bunch if disgusting reptiles wriggled in it, without worrying about the possible draining of this swamp, suddenly became rabid anti-Americans when in the US came to power President, who does not hesitate to openly express sympathy to Russia and the desire to see an ally in it.

It seems that Russia has a powerful group of people that completely shares the goals of the serpentarium in the Washington Swamp and they are categorically not satisfied with America, which is an ally of Russia or even related to Russia neutrally.

Which is not surprising, given that the most valuable pieces of Soviet property were handed out by the American advisers who were sitting in Russian ministries when a big rat named Hillary commanded the serpentarium in the Washington swamp.

That’s why I try to inform people about Trump’s attempts to drain the swamp, but all the time I’m hampered by the need to comment on the events of primary importance, especially those that confirm my point of view on the administration of President Trump.

Well, for example, I can not skip commenting that the main pro-Trump resource “INFO WARS” today reported that in the crashed Russian An-148 plane flew high-level managers of Rosatom, who may be key witnesses in the case “Uranium One” – a company that develops uranium deposits in the US, Canada and a number of other places.

    https://youtu.be/FNA8013ezNQ?t=1632

I would especially like to note that it was the case of Uranium One that allowed Trump to turn in his favor the case of the intervention of supposedly Russian special services in the elections in the US, accusing Hillary Clinton and the FBI of cooperation with them. And I have very good reasons to believe that it was these “Russian special services” that organized the anti-Putin riots in Bolotnaya Square in 2011, and later the murder of Boris Nemtsov who was sacrificed to accuse the “brutal regime” of Vladimir Putin of his death and to organize the very threat to the Russian state, to which this state in its new military doctrine promises to respond by the preemptive use of nuclear weapons.

In any case, I remember how the expert of the Economist magazine, Lucas, in exactly this way, assessed the aforementioned warning of the Russian military doctrine in the sense that an attempt to provoke events in Moscow analogous to the Kyev Maidan in 2014 would be a nuclear casus belli.

And his opinion should be listened to, since it is from his reports that Yanukovych has in Sochi agreed on Ukraine’s accession to the Customs Union and not with EU, the aforementioned Maidan began at the height of the Sochi Olympics.

The fact of the matter is that this is all New York rumors, that is, the adventures of the body, and the adventures of the spirit are description of the emergence of pieces of truth from the bottom of the Washington swamp, and I naively believe that the description of these intrigues gives meaning to rumors = the adventures of the body that I do not describe in their entirety for the lack of resources.

For example, I do not have the resource to analyze the rumor about how Israel supported Russia’s position on the participation of the USSR in the Second World War, and why that repeatedly strengthened Trump’s attempts to drain the Washington swamp, as well as how the US and Turkey in Syria and Iraq were on the brink of military confrontation because of the Kurds, and Russia was on the side of the conflict, which is undoubtedly the most favorable position in this situation.

Suddenly, and for no reason, the supposedly Russian Private Military appeared in the area on the eastern bank of Efrat in the American zone of responsibility where they had a trap prepared for them, nullifies all the advantages of Russia in Kurdish politics, and Russia has always been extremely careful with the Kurds before that, which was one of its main advantages of Russia in the Greater Middle East.

In addition, after the killing of many Russian soldiers of the Wagner Group, Russia is drawn into such a whirlwind that all the advantages of its position are reduced to zero, and any attempt to answer as it is appropriate to this provocation will lead to an impeachment of Trump and a complete revelry of the serpentarium in the Washington swamp.

And after Israel was informed by its “friends” from certain special services that the Israeli aircraft was shot down by missiles that Russia, in violation of the agreements with Israel, transferred to Syria in revenge for the shooting of supposedly Russian PMCs, and also to demonstrate on the Israeli fighter its ability to shoot down American fighters, the peace in Syria, paid dearly for, began to look like the beginning of a big war, including in Ukraine, where Russia categorically did not want to participate in the horribly vile Ukro bloodbath, but now it seems it is necessary, since it is there that you can find American PMCs, whom you can send greetings from their Russian colleagues in Syria.

Interesting, who gave the order to the Russian fighters of Wagner Group to fish in the troubled water of Efrat, and has he anything to do with the Uranium One case and the Trump dossier, which allowed on the “legal” grounds to eavesdrop on Trump’s election campaign, as Nunes said last week, the congressman from the Congressional District specifically created for him and who has unwound the case of the Russian branch of the Black World Project?

Just finished reading it and did so quickly as it really set it all straight….

Page 608 – RFK launched his presidential campaign in the same chandeliered room in the Old Senate Office Building where his brother had declared his bid for the White House eight years earlier. But a more somber mood hung over Bobby’s announcement. Not only was the country—and RFK’s own party—more torn by war and racial divisions than in 1960, but there was an acute sense that his own life might be at stake. After Richard Nixon and several aids sat watching Kennedy announce his presidential run on a hotel room television, the TV was turned off, and Nixon sat silently looking at the blank screen for a long time. Finally he shook his head and said, “Something bad is going to come of this.” He pointed at the dark screen. “God knows where this is going to lead.” A few days after RFK’s announcement, Jackie Kennedy—who had begged him not to run—fell into a bleak conversation with Schlesinger at a New York party. “Do you know what I think will happen to Bobby?” she said. “The same thing that happened to Jack”.

Humanity has always needed frontiers and new challenges. Earth is getting to the point where no matter where you go you are regulated to death and hindered from experimenting with new things, either by government or by neighbors. Almost everything has been bought up by the new aristocracy and put off limits to us ordinary mortals. We do need a new frontier, whether it is the seabed or Mars or somewhere else doesn’t really matter.

In the 15th century, it might have been said of Europe, where the aristocracy owned everything and there were no opportunities for Joe Sixpack to get land, that they would have done better to seize and divide the land than to risk crossing the Atlantic and establishing new colonies over there, but if they had tried that we probably wouldn’t have the capability to get to low earth orbit today.

I expect Mars could be colonized in time. Getting there IS a problem – I read even Musk’s successful rocket is going to miss Mars and end up in the asteroid belt. You would probably need to build a much larger spinning-wheel ship in orbit to somewhat replicate gravity before sending colonists. Before even that, you should put refueling ships and supply ships in Mars orbit for the use of the colonists, and use robots to build a habitat for them on or under the surface. And before even that you need to have a reason to settle there profitable enough to attract backers. Columbus foolishly offered the prospect of gold to get the backing he needed. But he had no real idea whether there was any there or not, and it was discovered too late to benefit him personally. Today we can do better, by sending robotic missions to locate resources that are actually there before sending humans or not sending them if such resources don’t exist.

Well said. We need a Promethean Project. At least Nordic Whites do. Otherwise, we’ll kill ourselves with extreme sports. Blacks see Whites who participate in such things as crazy and dangerous. And they don’t “get” sunsets or Nature in general either. Close to Nature? Uh yeah – they are Nature!

The East Asians get nature to some extent, but are they just copying us in other areas, trying to keep up with the Jones’s? We go up, they go up, be it mountains or the moon? They certainly like wealth and power. So if those are to be had, no imitation necessary.

  50. DurangoKid February 12, 2018 at 3:03 pm #

Let’s put some numbers on Elon’s Pipe Dream to Mars.

    1. To get to 1,000,000 people in 17 years, you don’t have to start with a million. There will be 9 launch windows over the 17 year effort. If you send 79,580 people per window and get them busy at 3% per year you only need to send a total of 716,220. Nature can make up the difference.

    2. To feed all these people on the 7 month trip you’ll have to supply them with a minimum of 14,000 tons of food. Probably a lot more. I based my figures on hard tack. That stuff that keeps forever and fed our troops in the 18th and 19th centuries. Water will be a lot less as it can be recycled somewhat. Probably 130 tons.

    3. How much does all this weigh? A lot. Just the food, water, and passengers will weigh on the order of 40,000,000 pounds. The current launch costs are about 3,000/pound for low Earth orbit, LEO. Mars is a lot further.

    4. Then there’s all the support hardware. Suits, tools, computers, toilet paper. Speaking of which, all the toilet paper and related stuff will have to be stored up along the way. That may seem like a bunch of do-do to us, but for the new Martians it’s organic material worth it’s weight in gold. One of the first and most important tasks for the Martians will be making soil. And that won’t be easy. First off, the Martian regolith (I wouldn’t call it soil) must have the perchlorates washed from it. Only then could it serve as a substrate for agriculture. All that do-do must be composted and mixed with the clean regolith. The Martians will have to bring along soil samples and fertilizers to get the ball rolling.

    5. The next trick will be enclosures. Humans will have to spend most of their time several meters below the surface or face an early death by cancer, blindness from cataracts, and who knows what else. If you’ve wondered what it’s like to be a mole, here’s your chance. On the topside, imagine acres of crops under geodesic domes. Bucky would be so proud. But, there’s a problem. If the dome is sheathed in plastic, it will gradually go opaque from the radiation. Not to mention embrittlement. Hopefully, these settlements will be near the equator to minimize the effects of the inverse square law. You know, the brightness of the sun diminishes as the square of the distance? Plants might still grow, but their energy capture will be limited by the available sunshine, which will be about 43% of the Earth’s.

    6. On the business issue from item 1, it remains to be seen if humans can reproduce in a 3/8-gravity environment. If it’s possible to conceive and carry a fetus to full terms, what will be the effects of low gravity on its bones? Could it survive birth? What about the increased radiation? And how many women would sign up to be Martians if one of the requirements is to get preggers ASAP? Remember that to get the population of Martians to a million by 2040, it’s only necessary to sent 30% less than that. Considering the cost, that may be their only way.

    7. Who pays for all of this and what is the return on this huge investment? Even if the launch costs for LEO can be brought down to $1000/lb., the cost for a Mars launch must still be at least in the multiple thousands. My “guestimates” put the payload weight somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000,000 pounds per launch window. That’s close to ten trillion dollars every 26 months. And that’s just the launch cost. There would likely be several times that in the required infrastructure.

    8. What would medical care look like on Mars? For all the women who are expected to spit out children like cherry stones, this will be a big concern. Infant and maternal mortality is no joke. The release form for the trip to Mars might read something like ‘we can treat you for this, this, and this, but not that.’ Who would sign up for ‘that?’

Again we come back to the radiation environment. Children are a lot more sensitive to radiation. Instead of a few meters below the surface, it might be necessary to dig down a few tens of meters. One might expect that natural selection would someday produce a human adapted for Mars. On the other hand, it’s difficult to evolve immunity to a gunshot to the head. Mars may kill us quicker than we can adapt.

    9. What about the human factor? For Mars to become a colony, it’s going to have to be a one-way trip. For those who get a month or so into the mission and decide this isn’t for them, what’s their alternative? Who pays if they get cold feet? As the number of people per mission increases, the selection criteria must also decrease. There aren’t 79,580 test pilots or submariners to choose from. There may be occasional return flights to Earth. How far would someone go to get a seat? What would be the response by some presumed local authority? Living in a hole might just be too depressing for humans. We evolved to be hunter/gatherers on the African savannah. Can we thrive as mole rats?

The Musk family of companies – including SpaceX- could get a running start by enticing EBT card holders, Section 8 housing occupants, WIC program enrollees, Medicaid participants and Somali refugees to be the first to climb aboard the Red Planet Express. This will both help defray the extraordinary cost of the adventure plus provide empirical data on some of the more touchy scientific inquiries.

How cold does it get on Mars?

In the 15th and 16th centuries, when Europeans embarked on perilous voyages in rickety ships to distant Islands like Juan Bermudez off the coast of Chile or Madascar off Africa they had to be reasonably certain from previous reports that the island had fresh water and a food source, or else they wouldn’t go. Mars has neither.

Prince Harry and American fiancée Meghan Markle released new details Sunday about their upcoming royal nuptials, and thanked the public for the “good wishes” they’ve received since announcing their engagement in November.

The wedding will begin 7 a.m. EST on May 19th, or noon local time, at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace said in a statement. Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and Dean of Windsor David Conner will officiate the wedding.

The couple then will partake in a carriage ride to St. George’s Hall, where a reception will be held.

“They hope this short journey will provide an opportunity for more people to come together around Windsor and to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day,” the palace said of the carriage ride.

Got to give Elon Musk his props:

Developer of PayPal, interposing another layer of service fees between buyer – credit card – seller. Brilliant bit of Human Farming right there.

Utilizes (ripped-off) the personal name of a great scientist and inventor for his own enrichment and gratification. Why did he not name his auto company The Musk Co.? He could have developed a snappy electric pickup truck with the appropriate name of The Ox.

His fascination with all things outer space gets him to use the very facilites that all American taxpayers have paid for for over half a century. How much does he pay to use yours and mine, U.S. Government facilities at Cape Canaveral? How much pollution does his Big Fucking Rocket create in its escape into space? Why does no one ask these questions rather than fawning all over this guy like he can clean up Baltimore and stop fires, mudslides and earthquakes in California?

Because in post modern world, America especially, we have grown up in the Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Pothead, Universal Studios, Dizney modality of fantasy. They don’t call Disneyworld the “Magic Kingdom” for nothing.

And one fine day, as JHK likes to point out, objective concrete reality is going to visit everyone, even the Plutocrats like Elon Musk, and it will be be magic alright.

The descent stage then flew away to a crash landing,

Well hold on. Let’s not be too pessimistic here. If we can establish a viable self sustaining habitat closer to home as proof of concept that might go some way to taking the wind out of the nay-sayers sails.

All we have to do is create a habitat that needs no help from below at a mere 110,000 feet above the earth. A weather balloon that can accommodate a million people will do the trick nicely. A space elevator might work too. If we can sort out a helium balloon that can handle that, it’s only a matter of scale to incorporate the things on Mars that you won’t find in our upper atmosphere, such as water, carbon, silicates, etc. Say a grossly over-engineered balloon that can take 100 million people, but which is only going to carry a tiny fraction of that number.

And if it’s scale able, why not make it so that they can all have comfortable lifestyles. Might as well, since you’ve sent all that stuff up there.

The main result of last week was not the flight of a SpaceX, but the discovery of a multitude of fingerprints of Hillary Clinton on all pages of the Trump folder on collusion with Russian special services, the investigation of which is being carried out by the special prosecutor Mueller.

And if they are Russian, does not mean that they are pro-Putin, just like the US intelligence agencies are engaged in a frank war with the President and the bitterness of this war has reached such intensity that at times it becomes unclear whether they are doing anything else.

As a result of the publication of the Nunes’ memorandum and the interviews that he gave it became clear that Russia also has a Deep State which receives orders from Hillary Clinton, but who will give orders to whom in a month is not entirely clear, as Devin Nunes’ ongoing investigation in the State Department and President Trump’s accusation of a Democratic party of high treason left no doubt: Trump understands that he will either put Hillary Clinton behind bars or she will bury him.

Today Trump has no intelligence, no police, who would follow his orders, and only the personal intelligence of the construction magnate Donald Trump saves him from a very sad fate, but if the office of the special prosecutor for the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s crimes is established, then in cooperation with General Dunford, who is credited with guiding the Marine raid into the CIA building, this office will be able to submit these organizations into obedience to the US president.

In the meantime, Bastinda and her flying monkeys respond to these threats by spreading the rumors and trying to disorganize the work of the White House by accusing the nearest staff of President Trump in domestic violence, and yesterday I did not believe my eyes watching President Trump with the funeral expression fired his White House secretary whom his nutty ex-wives accused of domestic violence that happened ten years ago.

And all the channels yesterday voluptuously showed a bruise under the eye of one of them!

I now can not rule out the possibility that the bruise under the eye of a nutty broad could cause a nuclear war.

I think they made an original Star Trek episode about Elon Musk. And if Elon Musk wants to pretend to send people to Mars what harm does he pose in doing that?

People won’t board a spaceship to Mars even if Musk pays them to do it. He is merely toying with the idea so he can make money.

      What’s the Canadian way?

      • Robert White February 12, 2018 at 11:15 pm #

Our billionaires hang out in Toronto or Vancouver, and they earn their money in the US. Billionaires are far and few between in CANADA, but we do have lots of cheesy millionaires that act like they are billionaires. And the Canadian way is to live in a cultural backwater where nothing original, or interesting, happens.

In CANADA, the Canadian way is pretty much indentured servitude to our Chartered Banks and governments that tax Canadians more than any other country in the world. The Feudal Lords give us the bare minimum in terms of wages, and they threaten us with Welfare level living if we ask for more than subsistence wages. Most people in CANADA make less than $80k per year, and they can’t afford to build their own businesses on slave wages. I have always been penniless, and I am educated more than most. CANADA is a nice place if you don’t mind being penniless & poor all the time.

The Canadian way is cheap weed and television.

That said, Toronto has more German Italian and Japanese luxury cars running around its streets than there are in Germany Italy and Japan. A real idiot fest, which is sure to pop Ol’ Scratch eyes out, with his dumb ass Lamborghini tractor American imitation.

Most of the drivers of these Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche, Ferrari, Acura, Infinity, and their various SUV variants, are driven by Chinese and Russian foreigners. Both these groups lease these cars as part of their business. In the Chinese case, the business model is housing a dozen or two dozen slave labor Chinaman per luxury mansion or condo apartment cash purchased. In the case of the Russians, the business model is employing Jamaican blacks to steal these cars and repackage them in the Russian owned auto garage for export to Russia. You also have the odd Maserati driven by an Italian mobster whose construction company has “won” yet another contract from the local Italian bureaucrats to rip apart and pave over another street that had the same Italian upgrade the year before and the year before before.

          And that’s the Canadian economy.

So, pretty much the same shit as in the US, except that to get some sunshine the “Canadian businessman” travels to Cuba and the Dominican Republic instead of Florida.

In Ottawa right now the Little Italy district is being rebuilt with
private condos to the tune of billions. The restructuring of prime RE is about to destroy well over 100 years of history with respect to architecture, and waterfront/shoreline on Federal Government of CANADA owned lands.

I joined a small group that is opposed to the restructuring & new condo builds, and we are standing up against a $4 billion dollar city building project that is making private investors a bucket load of cash off of the backs of the public.
In brief, the municipality sold their souls to Ol’ Scratch et al so they could inhale exhaust fumes from traffic congestion, and sip expressos whilst staring at the vista of commuter bus advertising instead of parkland, and the historic Canal which is a UNESCO site that has been a part of Ottawa for over a century.

          • Robert White February 13, 2018 at 2:38 pm #

Honey Sherman was murdered by the Mafia contract killers that killed her husband too. The mob was in business with Sherman, and they eliminated him for controlling share of the investments they were aligned on. Honey Sherman was murdered because she knew about the aligned investment with the very characters that snuffed them out. Moreover, the whole case will be covered up because of the Toronto Mafia links, and the fear that Mafia exposure brings to investigators working the case.

And her name was ‘Honey’ and NOT bunny. You are likely thinking about the movie Bunny Lake is Missing.

        • Robert White February 13, 2018 at 3:37 pm #

People freeze to death in CANADA almost every winter without fail. Governments are very serious about picking homeless people off the street in winter time. Crews of Social Workers work the streets in Canadian cities every year. They pass out winter coats, hats, mitts, and sleeping bags, every year, for FREE.

CANADA has winters that can kill in minutes. Charlie Daniels must not be aware that Canadians die every winter due to freezing temperatures.

There’s more chapters in this war in Syria, a war that seemingly has no end. No sooner has ISIS been crushed and things are now heating up between Iran/Hezbollah/Kuds and Israel. Today was pretty calm after last weekends air combat. But Russia lost a few soldiers in a firefight with US backed rebels today.

Syria seems to be the flashpoint where a 3rd world war could ignite. If Israel gets into it with Iran look for Saudi Arabia to attack Iran proper. Who knows how Russia and the US will respond? This could get bad.

Russia in Syria turned out to be a real winner, since after the end of hostilities the two largest militarily NATO countries, the US and Turkey, were on the verge of war, but several facts brought this victory to naught.

And these facts became the presence of rumors about the shooting of Russian Private Military Wagner on the right side of Efrat in violation of the agreement on de-escalation zones, as well as the rumor of a terrorist attack in Moscow that resulted in the collapse of the AN-148 and the death of key witnesses to the Rosatom Uranium One deal with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

I repeat: the fact was the presence of rumors about the shooting and the terrorist attack, and not the shooting and the terrorist attack themselves, but the effect of these rumors is present even if the underlying events never took place.

And these rumors are spread by such information monsters as the Washington Post and “Info wars” and all this is part of the election campaign of Vladimir Putin, in which Trump’s America and America of Hillary Clinton actively interfere in, simply because the outcome of these elections determines their very existence.

Very interesting finding by the Italian Dr Valter Longo correlating extreme longevity with the lack of growth hormone receptors found in people of diminished stature.

My theory is, that all things being equal, the greater a person’s body mass, the more likely that person is malnourished. The more malnourished a person is, the greater proclivity of such a person towards bad behavior.

Taking this a step further, and using Yan’s nazi logic, all people exceeding 80kg and 180cm should be shot dead for the criminals and potential criminals that they are. That mean all Dutch people!

Always happy to join in when the Bible comes out…. With the greater glory of the Musk in mind, let us regard Daniel Chapter 4 (The Great Tree being analogous to the USA for now) and V-15 “Bands of Iron and Brass” (let this be US remnant railway lines binding up the sad old roots in Chapt.. 4 “tree preserved from destruction”)…

Now comes a point of decision. Elon Musk must show some situational awareness, knowing the space adventure is at risk in event USA falls victim to prophecy in context of perfect storm aimed at America’s heart from North Korea coincidental with the Middle East slide into disaster. Iranian PDRK collaboration is no myth and portends likely impacts in North America. Expect it…. See William Forschen’s ONE SECOND AFTER primer on EMPHAMP event.

So a timely side gambit for the Musk is a strategic railway project situated to assist USA food distribution, a famine hedge, if you will. Following 1990 Cal Trans US 50 Rail Corridor Study. Musk and friends underwrite US 50 Corridor rail line to add food distribution capacity to the transcon rail network.. Signature feature and guarantor of project success is the ELON MUSK TUNNEL, under the spine of the Sierra from Strawberry CA, exiting near Genoa Nevada and on east through Carson City, etc. Near the Tesla Battery Works, by golly!

The Musk disdain for passe’ technology should be on hold when the full international threat level is brought to his attention. Food security is necessary for the grander schemes up his sleeves to proceed…. Multitasking is not too big a challenge for such a man, and the 50 Corridor train job dovetails with the 1869 Golden Spike Sesquicentennial. If Mr. Elon Musk already knows these things, he is without excuse.

China Energy Investment signs MOU for $83.7 billion in West Virginia shale gas, power and chemical projects

I consider today’s politics as the result of centuries of history and I see how the chain of events that began in the 12th century has a decisive influence on the events of today.

For example, when I read about the US-China gas memorandum, I immediately recall the Boston tea party, as a result of which the North American colonies gained independence and immediately after became for the first time ally of Russia of Catherine the Great.

The fact is that I talked a lot with Chinese intellectuals, and I know that tea, drowned in Boston harbor, was brought from China by the East India Company that organized opium wars in China and the result of these wars made such an impression on the Chinese that the memories of the invasion of Genghis Khan, the Boxer uprising have gone to a distant past, but the opium wars for them were yesterday.

And those who drowned tea in Boston harbor were employees of the West India Company, which competed on the battlefields of the Albigensian Crusade with the East India Company even before it was given the name.

And Catherine the Great responded to the Pugachev’s Rebellion in Russia with Armed Neutrality off the coast of North America and all this has a direct bearing on the gas memorandum and today’s politics.

We must start with the realization of the need to distinguish not only the geographical concept of “West and East” from the culturological notion “West and East”, which Kipling speaks about, but also to realize the difference between the Roman Catholic Church from both Eastern and Western Christianity.

What Kipling is talking about is connected with how the pagan Romans perceived the “rational West and the mystical East,” and this was reflected in the Shakespeare’s tragedy “Anthony and Cleopatra”, which played a decisive role in shaping the differences between the West India Company and East India Company.

And this, in turn, still determines the policy of the United States, in particular the confrontation between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, as the notorious Boston Tea Party was the destruction of the goods of the East India Company by the employees of the West India Company.

In addition, we should not forget the confrontation between the Western and Eastern Roman empires, because the British in all seriousness consider themselves the last fragment of the Western Roman Empire. With this is connected thousand-year-old confrontation between England and continental Europe, especially Germany, which considers itself to be the heirs of the Arminius’ Cherusci, who defeated the Romans in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.

But the most important thing is that the Western Black Project has matured from the union of Mithraism, paganism and Arianism within the Orthodox Empire of Theodosius the Great, which is well known in the West under the title “Great conspiracy” and is completely unknown in Russia.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Conspiracy

It is more commonly known as the “Battle of the Hadrian’s Wall”, which does not correspond to the scale of the event and reminds how Anglophile propaganda called the World War that the West lost, failing to destroy the Russian Empire, the Crimean War, which it allegedly won.

This is indeed the most important obstacle in understanding the differences between civilizations, in particular between the Catholic West and the Orthodox East, since the notorious Filioque was not the cause but the pretext for the Great Schism that the Black World Project formed precisely to drive a wedge between the Christian West and the Orthodox East, first tearing Rome from the Byzantine Orthodox Church in 800, and then forming the so-called Frankfurt theology, Protestant in spirit even before the appearance of Catholicism, alleged Protestants allegedly protested against.

“In addition, we should not forget the confrontation between the Western and Eastern Roman empires, because the British in all seriousness consider themselves the last fragment of the Western Roman Empire.”

Indeed, Finca. In pubs throughout the land on a Friday night after work, they talk of little else. Even if Man United is playing on the box above their heads.

Although getting the British to consider themselves in all seriousness is an achievement in itself.

So, with all seriousness – do you or you don’t?

What is the status of the City of London? Is it true it is not even the part of UK (or GB) and is still considered to be the capital of the Western Roman Empire?

        • GreenAlba February 13, 2018 at 8:29 am #

Of course the City of London (like the City of Westminster) is within both London and the UK. Administratively it is one of the local authority districts of Greater London – it’s just not called a London borough like the others and is considered a separate county within England – an enclave within Greater London while technically not part of it.

But it is still part of England and subject to its laws. Otherwise there would need to be portals and passports instead of normal streets running from one part of London to another. You can walk through the Square Mile just as you’d walk through anywhere else in London.

And no, I’ve never considered it *currently* the capital of the Western Roman Empire, even though I believe its boundaries corresponded historically to the area settled by the Romans, roughly speaking.

          • FincaInTheMountains February 13, 2018 at 8:45 am #

            Thank you.

We still need to consider the fact that the Queen of England needs to ask permission from the Lord Mayor of London (not the Mayor of London, who’s some kind of Pakistani) before entering the City, but of course it is just a part of old good English tradition England is so proud of.

          • GreenAlba February 13, 2018 at 9:49 am #

She’s the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in fact, although there remains some minor contention among people with nothing better to argue about in terms of the accuracy of her being Queen Elizabeth II of said realm (Lizzie I having been just Queen of England before the Union of the Crowns) just as the son of Mary Queen of Scots, James VI, was but James I when he became King of both territories.

I had to check up on the story about the Queen and the Lord Mayor and it turns out to be just a story. From a brief Google query:

“It is sometimes asserted that the Lord Mayor may exclude the monarch from the City of London. The *legend is based on the misinterpretation* of the ceremony observed each time the sovereign enters the City. At Temple Bar the Lord Mayor presents the City’s pearl-encrusted sword of state to the sovereign as a symbol of the latter’s overlordship. The monarch does not, as is often purported, wait for the Lord Mayor’s permission to enter the City.

“When the sovereign enters the city, a short ceremony usually takes place where the Lord Mayor symbolically surrenders his or her authority to the monarch by presenting the sword to them. If the sovereign is attending a service at St Paul’s this ceremony would take place there rather than at the boundary of the City for matters of convenience.”

So there, we are – yet another nice story relegated to the dustbin of anecdotery. And it’s all ceremonial nonsense anyway, since the monarch, as we have mentioned before, has no constitutional powers worth talking about, so her ‘overlordship’ means diddly in real life.

BTW the mayor of London was born in Tooting, London. I’m not sure what ‘kind of Pakistani’ that makes him other than an eminently British one.

Let’s see if there is a pattern and make a considered determination:

          – Three places that are their own administrative, political, and juridical territories.

          – Three places that have obelisks as a central outstanding feature.

          – Three places that are tiny but powerful, one a nation unto itself.

          – Three places where pronouncements can shake the Humanosphere.

          – Three places that have deep connections to extraordinary occult forces.

Call them The Vatican, Washington D.C., and The City of London.

Now which one is the capital of the West? Western Civilization?
Does it matter? All three places seem to hold sway over the West, but at the same time are crumbling due to centuries of waste, profligacy and debauchery. The color project is seemingly always Green Finca.

Well indeed, Pequiste. I have a copy of Nicholas Shaxson’s ‘Treasure Islands – Tax Havens and the Men who Stole the World’, which provides detailed information about the behind-the-scenes goings on of Deep Finance in the City, or rather the network that centres on The City. It’s equally good on the way the French have maintained their ex-empire as a money-laundering network in similar ways.

Apparently even his targets in The City apparently grudgingly (or perhaps admiringly) admitted the book had got it right.

I think the US gets a chapter too, although I haven’t even got half way yet, as I can only take so much detailed Deep Finance at a time.

    Ozone,

I think we need to put our grievances aside and combine our substantial intellectual potential to the noble task of figuring out the connection between the Boston Tea Party, the two Opium Wars in China, and the inexplicable reluctance of the Congressional Democrats to give Donald Trump some lousy 25 billion dollars to plug a hole in the Mexican border.

Feds Collect Record Taxes in First Month Under Tax Cut; Run Surplus in January

The federal government this January ran a surplus while collecting record total tax revenues for that month of the year, according to the Monthly Treasury Statement released today.

January was the first month under the new tax law that President Donald Trump signed in December.

During January, the Treasury collected approximately $361,038,000,000 in total tax revenues and spent a total of approximately $311,802,000,000 to run a surplus of approximately $49,236,000,000.

“This is our home. Can we talk about the necessary adjustments and arrangements we have to make in order to continue the human project here? Just based on our performance on this blue planet, we are not qualified to infect other parts of the solar system.”

Excellent point. Can we? Human overpopulation is a subject that is still taboo and misunderstood for many. The unquestionable belief system that places human superiority paramount is also taboo. This planet is our domain to serve us and so sayeth a bible. This is what humanity is up against: our own fairytales that we use to justify our treatment of this planet and its living cohabitants.

We simply are unable to accept that the pressures and burdens of an excessive human population with very modern and rigid expectations of quality of life have far exceeded carrying capacity. Carrying capacity that does not trigger system failure and deleterious effects.

We need to be true to ourselves, our shared living cohabitants, and the planet that granted us this great responsibility.

Janos is a perfect example of those racists who are both horrified and at the same time attracted to the Black Panther movie.

Is there a psychiatric term for this behavior?

They remind me of girls who have rape fantasies.

My money says racist like Janos will seek out and watch the movie; because even right now they can’t stop talking about it.

What is it called when a person is attracted to a phenomenon that triggers them?

Most of the alt right racism Ive observed seem to fall under the category of paranoid narcissism; and it goes like this:

    1. Paranoia: Someone is trying to harm/kill me?

    2. Narcissism: And its because Im white and white = good…

Its like the ugly fat girl worried about rape/sexual assault…

I suspect this type of deep existential fear is always rooted in the fact no one wants or cares about them?

Black people do it too when we claim “the white man is keeping me down…”

when the reality is, you are so insignificant, vapid and inconsequential, you don’t even show up on white peoples radar screens?

If “da white man” didn’t exist, we would hafta invent him?

Imagine a group of black people sitting around and one of them says

    Yo man

“The Big Foot”, Sasquatch, Yeti…. is keeping the black man down…”

Im finding it very important to detect and understand a persons existential fears, in order to really make sense of their behaviors.

We’re going to make a fortune selling tickets. We’re going to pimp out some old commercial vessels and fill them with Blacks. Once we’re underway, we’ll confine the Blacks to their quarters and reduce rations to get them ready for “Wakanda” or the real Africa. It’s a combination of reverse Camp of the Saints and How to Serve Man. We could use a jive talkin’ barbershop Black philosopher like you to sell this. And you could get free tickets for your friends at long as you sign a confidentiality agreement.

Admit it, at some level you really do believe in Wakanda!

      • thwack February 13, 2018 at 3:50 pm #

        Believe what?

That Africans know which bathroom to use?

Go ahead and admit it Janos; you are just angry because Wakanda is the celebrated National Socialist movie white people never got to have.

        Face it,

the Black Panther is both a super hero and a head of state; even your boy Adolph can’t keep up with that.

As Pequiste sez there’s going to be shit-storms of flying chunks of objective concrete reality. Actually, the concrete started flying a while back. Just look at the monumental extortion and theft in rackets like health care and education and the wreckage they inflict on people who either have no choice but to comply if they want to live a bit longer or who get taken in by educrat propaganda.

You just have to look at the degraded state of the American interior which suffered a barrage thanks to the Plutocratic class which bought out legislatures, perverted the political process and then set up a preposterously unworkable global production and trading scheme.

You read constantly in the coastal press and I mean CONSTANTLY, that what ails Flyover-land area is “inequality”. What ails flyover America is not inequality and never was. What ails it is the demolition of the economy that supported all those thousands of communities and tens of millions of Americans. The Fortune 500 sent thousands of factories that employed and supported that huge multitude of people to Mexico and China. When all this was happening did you hear howls of outrage from the White House and Congress? Did you hear even a peep?

Poverty? Ruined families? Despair? Thousand dead every year from opioids? If the Oligarchic clerisy aren’t up on their high horses looking down on people and insulting them then they’re inflicting this culture wars baloney to distract them from their disastrous state. If it isn’t evolution and religion and abortion it’s trannies and bathroom arrangements.

A while back I wondered what new diversionary scheme they’d come up with next. Well, by george, Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan popped up which started a parade of addled starlets telling us about the debauched ways of the leader of the most depraved community on the planet.

And if it isn’t women coming out of the woodwork with stories about what Roy Moore did decades ago, then it’s the Dreamers and Dick Durbin who tells us that he’s working full time for that small segment of the population instead of the people that are actually CITIZENS.

And if you get tired of that well then it’s this Elon Musk nonsense. Oh, and Black Live Matter. Biggest joke going. Black lives don’t even matter to Blacks. Just go to places like Chicago.

Russia’s about tapped out so what’s next you wonder. What new and worthy cause will grab the headlines? But look out because Reality and it’s catapult is relentless.

Putin cancels all public appearances because he’s got the sniffles

Oh, I do not like these Putin’s sniffles. Somehow reminds his vacation in Sochi after August, 12th, 2000 when he was gone for a week – had a rest in the main command bunker 3 km under the ground.

      Negro child with two heads

Pregnant woman in a white suburban neighborhood for a month wakes her husband at night screaming, and then complains that she had a dream in which she gave birth to a little Negro with two heads. The poor husband is exhausted to the limit, and now comes the time of birth, the husband running from corner to corner in the hospital, and the nurse finally comes out with a strange expression on her face and says:

      – Congratulations you have a son!
      – Negro?
      – Negro!
      – With two heads?
      – No one.
      – Oh…. Thank God!

And in this regard, I always think of the nuclear submarine “Kursk” and how Putin was accused that he refused to interrupt his vacation because of the fact that “it drowned.” And today, I think that we know perfectly well that Putin was informed about the attack by USS “Memphis” on the Russian nuclear submarine on the orders of President Clinton in response to Yeltsin reminder of Russian nuclear triad, and the question of how this report corresponds to reality, is again a question of the Negro child with two heads.

And in fact, Putin sat in Sochi deep underground at the command post with his finger on the red button, listening to all these accusations and thought about how and when he is going to push it, and what it would mean that the time has come. And what is happening now, he thought through then, and only now, perhaps, he mentally stepped aside from the button and took a deep breath.

    Ladies and Germs;

Jim Rikards is on his game today with a quick read that will explain Wall Street’s impending issues and define the mechanics of the upcoming outrage…

    https://dailyreckoning.com/the-threat-of-contagion/

    • janet February 13, 2018 at 1:59 pm #

Upcoming outrage? XIV. VIX. ETC. C’mon elysianfields, get real.

James Rickards is a scam artist. He writes “the end is near” books. He writes about finance. He wrote “The Road to Ruin: The Global Elites’ Secret Plan for the Next Financial Crisis.” When you read it (get it from a library), you will find that there actually is no secret plan. In fact, it’s the same old deal. Rickards is a con artist, like Trump.

Rickards makes money by conning people out of their money through fear mongering. He has warned of an impending “government’s secret plan to freeze your money.” False. Just like his previous false warnings about a ” 70% stock market crash”, “$100 trillion meltdown” and A “coming catastrophe”. None of these happened.

      • janet February 13, 2018 at 2:26 pm #

What Rickards really wants is your money. It starts with $39.50 for a one-year subscription to even more of his marketer-crafted blood-pressure-raising blabber.

For $79, you qualify for an ‘Executive Package’ that includes four books full of this fear-mongering.

Rickards also wants you to buy his book “Road to Ruin“. Don’t buy it. Get it from that commie institution, the public library.

As with his previous books, Rickard’s prescription to financial wellness during his coming Armageddon is gold, real estate, art, hedge funds and cash. Ugh! These are all very complex investments, with fine art being among the most challenging. No surprise then, that you’ll need to pay for his guidance to make it through the financial mine field that he’s about to lead you into.

        • tucsonspur February 13, 2018 at 3:31 pm #

Rickards speaks about a Mar a Lago Monetary Commission that will reboot the dollar. He talks about gold going to $10,000 an ounce, and how you can profit 1000% on a certain investment—–not gold. Pay to find out which one.

I haven’t found much practical help for the average or even above average Joe in his books. It’s just the usual remedy as you mention.

That being said, there’s a lot to learn from his books, and I think they’re worth the read. A real good ROI.

        • elysianfield February 14, 2018 at 10:59 am #

          Janet,
I do not read Rickards for his advice…I read him because he outlines macro-economic issues and does so in a manner that has a ring of truth. His books have well-defined the underlying issues, explains how we got into trouble, and usually will benchmark various economic indicators to watch for that the Fed and other entities watch by which they make their decisions.

I do not read touts for their economic advice…I made my own economic decisions which are definitely not mainstream,..in fact, I have never even heard of anyone “investing” as I have done.

Rickards is extremely well-versed in global macro-economic issues, and he explains them well. I could not give a rats butt regarding his investing advice, however.

“The Fortune 500 sent thousands of factories that employed and supported that huge multitude of people to Mexico and China.” –volodya

Nixon opened China. Reagan destroyed unions. That made it easy for the cisgendered, white, male, “christian” CEO’s to ship all those jobs out of the United States. The problem is not the politicians. Those can never be reformed. The problem is the corporations. Those should be expunged from existence.

Elon Musk was born in white South Africa of the 1970s. At age 17 he moved to Canada. Your inference is false.

I doubt Elon Musk ever had any meaningful contact with blacks. They certainly did not shape his intellectual life in any meaningful way. South Africa was a segregated society, especially back then. It still is.

The ANC is a thieving murderous commie mafia. The South Africa of today is just as racist today as it was back then. The only difference is that the roles of predator and prey have reversed.

The White South Africans should have made a bid for Freedom. Few Blacks lived in one part. If they had retreated to that part, what could the world have done? And historically, Blacks didn’t live in South Africa before Whites. They have no more right to it than the Whites do – even by that standard. And of course less rights by the right of who built it, much less too by the right of conquest.

One White Political Cuck asked Mandela for a White State. He said he’d think about it! Pathetic – World Conquerors begging a terrorist for their rights.

Referring to the link someone kindly posted last week regarding traffic to JHK’s site (as a whole, not CFN), the demographics are as follows:

        US 52%, Australia 18.6%, Canada 6.3%, Germany 4.6%, Norway 4.2%.

So (a) the readership is pretty much half American, (b) there is little representation of Europe at all among the ‘top 4’, and (c) the percentage of Brits (not to mention all non-Teutonic and non-Scandi Europeans) is so small as not to warrant any mention.

Given that people from here read JHK’s books, I’m sure you won’t begrudge us a word on his website. And cultural hegemony remains firmly with you (the US, not the xenophobics).

However, I’d also point out that there are over 700 people on the patreon site alone – total readers will be many, many times that. Most of those do not comment, or rarely. I visited for the best part of a decade myself before saying anything. So I don’t think you have any genuine basis for assuming that your ‘many of us’ category in any way represents a majority of the whole readership, or even of the whole American readership.

Life being what it is, though, the loudest and most bullying have a way of discouraging many people from commenting. Likewise, the more viscerally racist and anti-Semitic the comments, the more people with more moderate/balanced views are likely to withdraw from commenting, and possibly even from reading the posts at all (see previous comments from other readers about ‘angry old men’ and the site having ‘gone full retard’).

Regarding my comments on your own posts, I have done nothing more than respond to exaggerations and untruths (and rudeness). If someone presents Brexit, for example, as being about Muslim immigration, which it categorically is not and could not be, in the present circumstances, that needs to be corrected, because other people reading deserve to hear the truth. (As mentioned before, Brexit is logically more likely to lead to an increase in immigration from non-European countries with which the UK signs new trade deals, at the expense of (predominantly Catholic) Eastern Europeans).

Likewise, if someone who doesn’t live there tries to misrepresent the demographics of the UK for effect (2.8 million Muslims out of a population of 65 million) or even those of London (12.4% Muslim) – and in both cases total Muslims, rather than practising ones – then the readership deserves to see the hyperbole replaced with actual statistics.

Thankfully, most CFN-ers from the US don’t engage in such misrepresentation, even if their political and cultural views don’t entirely accord with a more European or British perspective.

But if your preference is for an echo-chamber/safe space, you should at least be honest about it.

And I’m glad we agree on the vileness of the North Korean regime, even if not on pragmatic diplomatic niceties at international sports gatherings. Speaking to people you don’t like can end up producing situations you’d prefer to see, as we found out ourselves in relation to the IRA.

The truth continue to emerge in the Washington swamp

    Finca February 9, 2018 at 5:05 pm:

President Trump knew in advance of the Clintonoid-induced fall in the Dow Jones and how they would be on the camera enjoying the fall of the indexes, reflected on the TV screens showing Trump’s performance in Cincinnati.

Flying Monkeys have been caught rigging the stock markets

How Wall Street’s ‘fear gauge’ is being rigged

The flaw allows trading firms with sophisticated algorithms to move the VIX up or down by simply posting quotes on S&P options and without needing to physically engage in any trading or deploying any capital. This market manipulation has led to multiple billions in profits effectively taken away from institutional and retail investors and cashed in by unethical electronic option market makers.

Jason Zuckerman, attorney at law firm, Zuckerman Law, who is representing the anonymous whistleblower, told MarketWatch that his client is concerned about unfair markets.

“My client is concerned about VIX manipulation that has already caused investors to incur massive losses and is eager to prevent further harm from investors,” Zuckerman said.

If Blacks are as smart as Whites, then they would have at least one advanced civilization. So to put it in a formula, If Black Equality or BE, then Wakanda (or its equivalent). So if BE, then WK.

Or do you relinquish the premise – as you seem to do above. Surrender in other words.

If Blacks are as smart as Whites, then they would have at least one advanced civilization.

          *****************************

          OK,

          (puts on Janos hat)

and if whites were as smart as blacks, they would know which bathroom to use right?

          (takes off Janos hat)

Janos, are you saying if one person is not as smart as another person; they are qualified to be abused and mistreated?

Are you saying if one person has less ability than another person; they are qualified to be abused and mistreated?

          Janos,

you need to finally come clean and reveal to us which people are qualified for abuse and mistreatment in your so called model civilization?

Because not being one of them is really all that people care about?

          • Janos Skorenzy February 14, 2018 at 1:47 pm #

So in other words, since you are changing the topic, you have conceded? I feel like the Lizard Commander talking to the injured Captain Kirk: I will be merciful. Your quietus will be quick.

In answer to your question: Of course not! Why do you think Whites ended slavery wherever they were? Did Blacks ever do that? It is to laugh.

Did a lot of people confuse that with equality? Both Black and White? Yes. And since Blacks are unequal (as you have all but admitted), do they really belong living with Whites – especially since they have never forgiven us for something they themselves are guilty of, namely slavery. Have they reformed? There is no reason to think so: the Blacks who returned to Liberia enslaved the locals.

Stop deflecting Janos, Im actually trying to help you move your agenda forward by giving you the opportunity to add some coherence to it.

The reason people don’t trust The Right is because they correctly suspect its going to be based on mistreating and/or abusing some group of people.

            Since The Right refuses to stand up and name/qualify that group of people;

we all have no choice but to assume it MIGHT or COULD be us?

Therefore, when push comes to shove, we have to hold our nose and support the left.

Now, maybe thats what you want?

            Is it?

            So to sum up,

Salesmen like you are the reason The Right has such a shitty PR campaign.

You need to get that look at, mmKay?

Invite a few million to come over to live like Effendi off the backs of dumb pure blood Negroes? She who is not with me is against me. There are no neutrals in this War. It will be Brother against Sister and Daughter against Mother. Far more so than the Civil War. And ultimately the War will cut thru our very heart. Do we value the Truth more than our Sister? Our Wife? Our Father? Our Mother? Only those who are willing to step over them will enter into Life.

    Roosevelt vs Truman

What people in Russia do not understand is that the US is NOT an ordinary state and they project on to it the principles that are characteristic of a traditional society, which is still a single organism.

And the United States is a country of permanent civil war and this is the only war they have experienced on their skin, the genetically programmed experience of what happens when enemy soldiers come to your house and start killing your loved ones is simply not there.

In Russia and in Europe it is remembered and felt by everyone – probably there is something like a genetic memory of the society, and in America this memory is not there – even the soldiers of King George during the War of Independence in fact waged a civil war between the East and West Indian companies. Even the ships with tea, from which the Boston Tea Party began to unravel, belonged to the East India Company.

Americans simply do not understand what a real war is, and all these overseas adventures of American soldiers are for the Americans just a movie and they think that losing a war is when many American soldiers die, and America will have to close its military base in a particular country and trade with someone on a less favorable terms than before.

They simply cannot imagine the situation when America will lose the war not because the war becomes too expensive and for America will be cheaper to close the base, because of which the war is going on.

I remember how I argued with one American who was peeing boiling tea about Putin and how Putin would save America from liberalism and the British.

(There is a lot of conspiracy in US, according to which the British burned the Library of Congress 200 years ago and along with it very important documents, because of which America is still a colony of England.)

So I told him, that the war in Vietnam was lost with a bang and that the US withdrew from Vietnam not out of nobility or antiwar protests, but because the Soviet SAMs destroyed all American planes and there was simply nothing to fight with.

He was completely shocked and thought that I had gone mad and wanted to call a psychiatric ambulance on me, and when I opened Wikipedia and showed him the figures of American losses, I began to fear that the ambulance would have to be called for him.

Meanwhile, I told him this not from sadism, but to show that Roosevelt America, whose ardent patriot he was, in Vietnam, in any case, did not lose. But I did not tell him anything about why, after analyzing the air battles in the Alley of Migs, Stalin began to concentrate troops in Chukotka near Alaska.

I will call one America Roosevelt’s, and another Truman’s, but for now understand that for the warring parties to the war all these battles of diplomatic and expeditionary corps are actually maneuvers in the civil war. In particular, not only the Korean, Vietnamese, and Afghan wars, but the whole Cold War was an attack of Truman’s America against the Roosevelt’s.

And all these talks about security are just blah blah. Americans simply can not understand the difference between protecting their interests and protecting the country’s security.

WASHINGTON ? Democratic consultant Jim Walsh resigned from both of his digital strategy firms on Tuesday, facing allegations of sexual misconduct.

HuffPost spoke with a woman who said Walsh sexually assaulted her over a decade ago, when she was 21 years old and was looking for advice about how to get into politics. She is involved in politics in Washington state, so she brought her concerns to the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, the national organization that the party works with.

    Diarrhea of the International News

It is necessary to pay tribute to the genius of Hillary and the Clintonoids.

Although it is the genius of Alois Schicklgruber.

They have almost achieved the impossible – to provoke in Syria a nuclear confrontation between three major forces that defeated Nazism in the 20th century – Russia, America and Jews.

And such a conflict is the biggest revanchist wet dream and the revenge of Neo-Nazism of the Clinton brand.

Three news feeds are full of the shooting of Russian “contract soldiers”:

The Russian news line is discussing the number of contractors killed – a spread of 20 to 1000, against the background of the officialdom trying unsuccessfully to deny either the incident or the information about it. Obviously time is spent trying to reconcile with Trump before it finally becomes clear to everyone that the yeast was thrown into the shithouse.

Jaroslav Hašek is said to have risen from the grave and writes the continuation of the The Good Soldier Švejk.

American news tape trumpet victory, but the sounds of the horns and the smell of the articles clearly remind of a diarrhea.

Hillary, as rumored in Union Square, is trying to spread the family over various bomb shelters, and the Pentagon looks like a bar on the Titanic three minutes before the ship breaks.

Especially impudent publications print opinions of military retirees, according to which the Russians, under the direct order of Putin, attacked the poor Americans who brought roses to the Kurds, but after being attacked by the barbarians they beat them to the pulp with the bouquets.

Looks like they agreed on something

In my Yahoo news feed from the top 10 articles 6 about the Russian “mercenaries” killed in Syria.

Most articles state that the number of dead is about 200. This is a lot and some people are frankly happy about this, but most are clearly frightened. It seems that journalists were warned – there will be an answer, then there will be an answer to an answer…. and then everywhere we go…

The main thing is unclear with whom Russia should negotiate – Trump clearly does not control those who conceived and carried out this crime, a special piquancy that gives the fact that the presence of Americans in Syria is illegal and regulated only by the agreement on conflict prevention, which after these events lost its meaning as in word absolutely.

And the US claims to protect its interests in Syria does not go too far due to the lack of US legitimate interests in Syria. That is, de facto United States entered the war with the Syrian Republic and the Syrian army, which for the first time in 35 years has proved its ability to shoot down F-16 and now can attack anywhere.

That is, Hillary implemented her plan, which in 2013 two million American bikers prevented her from carrying out, about which nothing was written in the Russian media.

Personally, I expected that Putin would at least declare martial law and the elections would be canceled, but an article appeared that states that Russia is preparing to officially register private military companies, which is clearly necessary for the settlement of the situation.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/russia-needs-law-private-contractors-lawmaker-says-114400924.html

    Very dangerous situation.

The Caribbean crisis in comparison with this situation is a fight in the children’s sandbox.

    So sez Janet.

And while I absolutely concur that the epidemic of school mass shootings is awful, horrendous, and probably demonic; there is a fatal flaw in taking away all the weapons that civilians are permitted.

That being that dictators LOVE an unarmed, and therefore a defenseless, citizenry — they can do just whatever the hell they want.

Q: Good question. I don’t have the hard figures – not even on Black men abusing Black children, their own or step. I don’t think the White stepchildren figures exist, but surely one could find the numbers on Black male abuse of Black children – somewhere, though I’ve never seen them. But given that they assault, rape, and murder at seven to twelve TIMES the White rate, is “imagine” the right word to use? Wouldn’t theorize be better – as in inductive logic? Think about it.

Contributing evidence: They are notoriously horrible parents, both the men and the women, epitomizing the r strategy as opposed to the k strategy of high parental investment. The men are famous for not wanting to support their children at all – just make as many as possible.

“That being that dictators LOVE an unarmed, and therefore a defenseless, citizenry — they can do just whatever the hell they want.” –pequiste

A dictator is helpless without popular support. Without support of an armed police, without support of the military, without support of the citizens, a dictator is harmless. For example:

494 B.C. — The plebeians of Rome withdrew from the city and refused to work for days in order to correct grievances they had against the Roman consuls.

1765-1775 A.D. — The American colonists mounted three major nonviolent resistance campaigns against British rule (against the Stamp Acts of 1765, the Townsend Acts of 1767, and the Coercive Acts of 1774) resulting in de facto independence for nine colonies by 1775.

1850-1867 — Hungarian nationalists, led by Francis Deak, engaged in nonviolent resistance to Austrian rule, eventually regaining self-governance for Hungary as part of an Austro-Hungarian federation.

1905-1906 — In Russia, peasants, workers, students, and the intelligentsia engaged in major strikes and other forms of nonviolent action, forcing the Czar to accept the creation of an elected legislature.

1917 — The February 1917 Russian Revolution, despite some limited violence, was also predominantly nonviolent and led to the collapse of the czarist system.

1913-1919 — Nonviolent demonstrations for woman’s suffrage in the United States led to the passage and ratification of the Constitutional amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote.

1920 — An attempted coup d’etat, led by Wolfgang Kapp against the Weimar Republic of Germany failed when the population went on a general strike, refusing to give its consent and cooperation to the new government.

1923 — Despite severe repression, Germans resisted the French and Belgian occupation of the Ruhr, making the occupation so costly politically and economically that the French and Belgian forces finally withdrew.

1920s-1947 — The Indian independence movement led by Mohandas Gandhi is one of the best known examples of nonviolent struggle.

1933-45 — Throughout World War II, there were a series of small and usually isolated groups that used nonviolent techniques against the Nazis successfully. These groups include the White Rose and the Rosenstrasse Resistance.

1940-43 — During World War II, after the invasion of the Wehrmacht, the Danish government adopted a policy of official cooperation (and unofficial obstruction) which they called “negotiation under protest.” Embraced by many Danes, the unofficial resistance included slow production, emphatic celebration of Danish culture and history, and bureaucratic quagmires.

1940-45 — During World War II, Norwegian civil disobedience included preventing the Nazification of Norway’s educational system, distributing of illegal newspapers, and maintaining social distance(an “ice front”) from the German soldiers.

1940-45 — Nonviolent action to save Jews from the Holocaust in Berlin, Bulgaria, Denmark, Le Chambon, France and elsewhere.

1944 — Two Central American dictators, Maximiliano Hernandez Martinez (El Salvador) and Jorge Ubico (Guatemala), were ousted as a result of nonviolent civilian insurrections.

1953 — A wave of strikes in Soviet prison labor camps led to improvements in living conditions of political prisoners.

1955-1968 — Using a variety of nonviolent methods, including bus boycotts, economic boycotts, massive demonstrations, marches, sit-ins, and freedom rides, the U.S. civil rights movement won passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

But the main piece of news, the fact that the sitting US President, Barack Obama, was overthrown by the Hillary’s Deep State on June 12, 2016, and Obama and Michelle, threatened by wellbeing of their daughters, were forced to act as a stand up clowns on Hillary’s campaign trail is still hidden from the American public and is waiting to come up.

Hillary’s Flying Monkeys are ready to do whatever it takes – sacrifice as many American children as it takes, start a nuclear conflict with Russia, just to hide it from the public view.

We are, perhaps, entering the final act of this Shakespearean drama.

    Stay strong.

Janet is correct, civil action is necessary to bring down the corporate commie/fascist dictatorship in the form of mass awareness mass disobedience and mass boycotts, starting with the Fake News MSM and the corporations that spawned and sponsor it. This is largely happening already, as they’ve been exposed for the lying thieving mass murderers that they are, and their credibility and viewership is fast approaching ZERO.

The shooting of Russian Wagner’s soldiers in a treacherous ambush in Syria and the shooting of Florida school children on Valentine’s Day are connected in the most direct way.

This is a map of school shootings, starting with the shooting of children of kindergarten age in Sandy Hook on December 14, 2012.

    https://www.vox.com/a/mass-shootings-sandy-hook

This day, from which the story began, ending yesterday with the conclusion of an agreement on compensation for the families of slain soldiers of Wagner group and the call of Ukrainian’s Poroshenko to Putin, President Obama called the blackest day of his life.

Every circle is a shooting. And if you go to this site, then pointing the cursor on the circle you can read where and how this shooting took place and what circumstances accompanied it.

Comparing these dates with geopolitical events one can arrive at very important conclusions, but even with an unaided look at the picture it immediately strikes that in those states where the people are armed to the teeth (except for Texas, the prime residence of ardent Clinton enemies – Bushes) and with both hands supports Trump and the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution guaranteeing the right to bear arms and the creation of a militia (and an armed uprising against the usurper) almost none of these incidents have taken place, but in Democratic states where the 2nd Amendment is wanted to be abolished, shooting executions take place all the time.

Most of the executions are where Democrats are fighting Republicans and there is almost no remaining strength.

Conclusion: shootings in schools are a by-product of the actions of Clinton’s propaganda aimed at distracting attention from events of a geopolitical importance.

May the victims of the executions rest in peace!

There are many ‘lions kill lions’ clips on you tube.
Female lions will kill the other prides lions, of all ages.

See National geographic special on ‘2 prides on an island.’

Males of a species (lion, bear), who would kill other males’ offspring to prevent future competition for females and get the mother in a heat again.
Pit Bulls may do this as well.

    • K-Dog February 15, 2018 at 12:45 pm #

Ah, Ah! A truly informative last sentence. You have been missed.

Joe Biggs quit Infowars over Jones’ cucking out on the Comet Pizza case. Can’t totally blame him – these are very big and very bad people who had ordered him to shut up or face a law suit. And he was involved in a death match with his ex-wife as to custody of the kids. And it’s a good way to get a hole in your head in any case. I still listen but I no longer believe him when he boasts about his patriotism and what he would be willing to do. He simply has too much to lose. It will take much bigger (in all ways) and harder men to bring these people down.

Brazilian drug dealer kidnaps medical staff, makes them vaccinate community against yellow fever

    https://www.myjoyonline.com/news/2018/February-14th/brazilian-drug-dealer-kidnaps-medical-staff-makes-them-vaccinate-community-against-yellow-fever.php

“Thomaz Vieira Gomes, also known as 2N, is considered one of the most dangerous criminals in Rio de Janeiro, but recently he actually did something decent, albeit still illegal, for once.

“He and his gang kidnapped two male nurses and made them vaccinate the poor people of his favela against yellow fever.

“For months, Brazil has been dealing with a yellow fever epidemic that has already left dozens dead. Despite the Health Ministry’s plans to vaccinate millions of people in the hopes of containing the outbreak, immunisation centres struggle to keep up with the high number of patients, and, as always, the poorest communities are usually ignored. …

“On January 27th, the young gang leader and a few of his cronies descended on a local state-run clinic in two black cars, took as many syringes and vaccine doses as they could find, and kidnapped two of the male nurses on duty that night.

“They then drove to the Amarelinho bar in Salgueiro where the two nurses spent hours administering yellow fever vaccines to members of the local community.

“In their report, the two health workers stated that the kidnappers were not aggressive and had only carried out the criminal action because many Salgueiro residents were not able to visit immunization centres to get their yellow fever shot.

“After doing their job, the two victims were reportedly taken back to their workplace.”

Not how I would have done it, but it sounds like there are worse things to blame him for.

    • K-Dog February 15, 2018 at 4:56 pm #

It got the job done and nobody got hurt. Would your way of doing things have been more effective and clean?

In the US brainwashing began long before the elections of 2016 and even before the elections of 2000. Adequate journalists were banished from television stations, and on average Joes they tried out some weird technologies of the 25th frame, as a result of which millions in New York in the early 90s suddenly jumped into the car at 2 am and drove in the unknown direction, creating on highways many miles of traffic jams.

My friend working as a cab driver at nights in 1993 was repeatedly amazed by these traffic jams in the middle of the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, and then, having found a normal job and starting to watch TV, he suddenly himself had an undeniable desire to drive somewhere.

But most of all I remember posters on the NYC subway calling for surrender to an anthropoid in a gas mask with an incomprehensible flag, hanging absolutely everywhere and advertising the very idea of submitting to the prevailing power.

Everything became clear when in 2016 the slogans from these posters and from the programs that caused a desire to ride in the middle of the night suddenly began to appear in political advertising explaining the inevitability of the victory of Hillary Clinton.

And now I see how these technologies began to be applied in Russia. For example, on the channel RTVi there is some kind of incomprehensible advertising calling first to run, to escape, and then all the same to submit to some incomprehensible force, and only at the end of the video it turns out that you have to submit and watch some kind of TV series.

I cannot think JHK is so lacking in comprehension that his gimlet eye has missed any aspect of the threat posed by the Evil Fuckers and their robots, A.I. now, A.G.I. very soon, and quest for personal immortality.

I do not see, however, the global reduction of human population globally, just in most advanced post-industrial nations.

On the racist blogs the white people are calling the Florida school shooter a “spic”; and claiming he is non white because his last name is “Cruz.”

But if its true he was adopted, doesn’t that make his last name meaningless?

Im not a white person, so I use a different metric to determine his race.

    He had a white mans body count;

I will take a wild ass guess that janet will disagree 100% with the blog essay published today by Fred Reed == Q

I will not disagree with Fred, but my problem with his latest article is that he’s describing the symptoms of the illness – a sour throat, running nose, pain in the joints, but he’s not analyzing the cause of the illness – the virus infection of the organism.

    https://fredoneverything.org/an-impolitic-slumgullion-diverser-is-worser-and-now-what/

America’s conquest and the construction of the United States was carried out by the quasi-religious organizations, which could be called “Masonic lodges”, and the Jeffersonian Democracy was formed as a way of peaceful coexistence of these lodges, of which the most influential was the lodge connected with the Anglican Church, the British monarchy and the West Indian company.

The basis for this peaceful coexistence was the gentlemen’s agreement of the leaders of the lodges, agreement that survived both the Civil War and the assassination of several presidents, but could not survive the bitching feminism of Hillary Clinton, who obviously hates all gentlemen’s reasons for existence since the time she was moonlighting as Deep Throat during free time off her college studies.

We could more or less time the beginning of this infection to the early 90s of the 20th century – the time of ascending of the Clintons to the heights of the US federal politics.

And Hillary started her ascend by breaking the most fundamental gentlemen’s agreement of all – the process of election to the highest executive position – the office of the President of the United States.

By running the Republican spoiler – Ross Perot, whose political platform was almost to a point identical to one of Bush Sr., except for his attitude towards the NAFTA, Hillary managed to deprive Bush from 20% of the Republican vote and hence make it to the White House.

That was a kick in the balls, an illegal in gentlemen’s boxing blow, which started it all.
