It begins to look like The USA will litigate itself into Civil War Two with the first battle being half the lawyers in the Department of Justice prosecuting the other half until Anthropogenic Global Warming puts the DC Swamp completely underwater and all parties concerned scuttle off into the deep blue sea.
It was rather a shock to see the photo lineup of all those familiar faces — Comey, Hillary, McCabe, Loretta Lynch et. al. — in the criminal referral “matters” sent over to the DOJ by congress on Wednesday, as if they were some mob of goombahs caught running a waste management kickback racket in the Hackensack mud-flats. But the evidence trail has been in plain sight for more than a year that Justice Department officials of various ranks and stripes colluded to bring off a legalistic coup d’etat against the loathed and despised winner of the 2016 election — with a little help from (of all things and personae) Russia, as in that political smallpox blanket known as the Steele Dossier.
Mixed metaphors aside, it looks like all the clones of Ricky Ricardo and Lucy engineered in some CIA black lab will never satisfy the amount of ’splainin’ that needs to be done, and that the ensuing trials may last longer than the lifetimes of millennials still struggling on campus with their gender presentation. There may be even more line-ups to come. I’m thinking players like Susan Rice, the Podesta brothers, Huma Abedin, John Brennan, James Clapper, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and perhaps the gentleman who preceded the Golden Golem of Greatness in the oval office. This melodrama will make The Lord of the Rings look like a knock-knock joke.
Meanwhile, the Republic actually whirls around the drain, both as a legitimate polity between Montauk Point and the Farallon Islands, and as an actor on the world stage. The Washington bureaucracy is not the only swamp that needs to be drained. There’s also the reeking Okeefenokee wasteland known as the US economy, led by its financial avatars on Wall Street who engineered the orgy of asset-stripping that chewed through the industrial states like some flesh-eating bacteria.
There is nothing left in Flyover-land. I drove through part of it yesterday on a book-reporting chore: the “quiet corner” of northeastern Connecticut south of Worcester, Mass, a valley of decrepitating mill towns and opiate addiction, like some place out of H.P. Lovecraft’s demon-haunted imagination, where the sun comes up twenty minutes later than anywhere else, and a dwindling population of malevolent diseased imbeciles shriek their lonesome agonies of failure and destitution to a God that never returned from lunchbreak one day in 1985. Their parting shot to an unjust world was voting for Donald Trump. Next time, they won’t even be around.
Anyway, Trump may emerge briefly from his triumph over the Swamp-led coup-d’etat only to find himself in his fated other role as designated bag-holder for the next crack-up of the banking system. At least he’ll be in his natural element: bankruptcy, presiding over the biggest ruined casino the world has ever seen. Who will bail America out then? Hint: the Federal Reserve is out of tricks — except maybe turning the US Greenback into a Bazooka Joe comic. That act of this national Grand Guignol awaits in the second half of 2018.
Meantime, my head is still reeling from the shenanigans in Syria last week. How many of our missiles were shot down exactly? I’m not too confident we’ll ever get a straight answer about that from the generals. Nor why they decided to blow up a suspected chemical weapons factory which, you’d think, would disperse a residue cloud of chemical weapons all over the Syrian landscape — and since that didn’t happen, was it actually a chemical weapons factory at all? And what of the shockingly credible claims from many quarters that there was no chemical weapons attack on Syrian civilians in any case? Judging by the front-page of The New York Times today, that nearly world-ending incident has already been shoved down the memory-hole.

BTW, I just listened to your latest interview and I have to say that besides the fact that the entire event was great listening, I have never heard a more level headed, intelligent discussion on the firearms control issue. If this could be broadcast on a national level there might actually be some hope that an intelligent solution could be worked out. I will not hold my breath. I understand that there is little to nothing that constituents can do that those in power will listen to GA, but when those who rule are admonished in a civil manner they think it is flattering and keep on as if they have passed the right to be uncorrected and incorrigible, content that they are feared and that no one dares to reproach them. For those paying attention, the recent and ongoing Syria fiasco plainly reveals the utter bankruptcy of American foreign policy and military projection capabilities. Both of those old nags are now at death’s door and ready to be shipped off to the pet food factory. Let’s hope it happens soon.

They allied themselves against Trump because he was an outsider. He had not been pre-indoctrinated by the political process, and he refused to agree as to what he could and could not do before he was elected. He was an interloper they feared they could not control so they attacked him. But as the recent events in Syria shows he CAN be controlled. He can be coerced, manipulated and sold just like the shyster real estate mogul he likes to tout himself as to Forbes Magazine by impersonating his own staff.
Whether you like him or not he is resisting the permanent state and he may actually win that battle with the DOJ and FBI. But he does not understand history, international events and geo-political policy and he has not shown he can or will think on his own going forward. That is partly controlled by the Russia investigation. He knows he cannot be perceived as friendly or cooperative with Putin and Russia.
I think this will be the tone of his Presidency for the next 2 years. Of course, I am assuming the US will make it over the next 2 years.
After the fireworks show in Syria a week ago, I am left wondering how many times can we do that before the bear pinches back with their hypersonic anti-ship missiles.
The way I see it, Russia either overstated their capabilities or they are afraid of the situation getting out of control and escalating to a nuclear exchange.
Congress stands by and does nothing about the illegal use of the Military to wage an undeclared war on another sovereign country. I wonder if they will finally do something about it if Russia were to arrange a meeting of our ships with the Roman navy at the bottom of the Mediterranean sea.

The US has engaged in illegal and immoral actions in other countries for decades, and we are currently killing women and children in Yemen with our ally Saudi Arabia. But we are suddenly outraged by the alleged use of chemical weapons and justify our attack by claiming Assad has broken international law and has to be removed from power?? The rush to judgment was immediate and precipitous, and there is evidence of German and UK supplies (smoke bombs and chlorine) in Doumas where the alleged attacks took place.
Somebody please tell me again. Who, exactly, are the criminals?

I think it’s the latter, so much so that I think it likely that there was some sort of coordination going on behind the scenes – maybe even clear down at the military theater level – to make sure that this little tit for tat public relations exposition remained just that. I doubt anyone in either military – below the rank of general at least – wants to see things get out of hand, since they know that they’ll likely be the first to die.
It’s probably a little of both.
But so much of this is Kabuki Theater it is hard to see the truth. That is one area in which the permanent state is supreme – obfuscating.
I am 64 years old. When I look back at the 50s, 60s and 70s – even the 80s – it surprises me that we have survived so many miscalculations.

Out here in the middle earth of flyover country, central Iowa, the economy perks along nicely, feeding mostly on what could be called an outdoor factory. That factory employs lots of workers operating heavy construction machinery, and consumes as its raw material some of the best land on earth. That land is converted to junk development at a rate so fast that it seems there must be a deadline to meet. The cheerleaders in the media take delight in all this destruction.
Also big in the central Iowa economy is finance and banking. Wells Fargo has a massive presence here. They are the gang of thieves recently fined a billion dollars for cheating people.
The other outdoor factory in Iowa, of course, is the farming enterprise: a toxic chemical-applying, fossil fuel-consuming, GMO-planting fiasco.
Such is our economy now.
Bees and insects are dying at an alarming rate and soon there will be very limited pollination.
The bees are still Ok in the cities from what I can see. So if the destruction in the farmlands ceases, they should be able to recolonize it in time.
Out here in the West Jersey woodlands the honey bees have been taking it in the shorts for years. Many of the hives have died off even with efforts to repopulate them. Sitting on my deck on a mountainside far from any fields or places normally frequented by honey bees, I have the little buggers land on the side of my cedar house and wander about aimlessly. They seem very disoriented and never have pollen sacks with anything in them.
I live about 25 mins’ walk from the centre of town and have been living in this block of Victorian flats since 2002. Every year around this time a queen bee comes around our back door in the corner of the garden looking as if it’s looking for something.
Obviously it’s not the same one, but my husband reckons he read that the colony memory of bees is phenomenally long and that there must have been a nest here before the flats were built in about 1890. If it’s not fanciful, it’s amazing.
It’s quite sad to see her looking to no purpose.
They’re amazing creatures. I read once that if they all died, we’d be gone 4 years later. Let’s hope that’s fanciful.

There is a pesticide, I do not remember the name, that hits their nervous system and causes disorientation. Sounds like the symptoms you mention. I have noticed another large bee killer, swimming pools. Here in the desert, water is a premium for all life. Bees try to get a drink by landing on the pool and the chlorine gets them.
Another factor out here is that when a bee swarm is noted, it is assumed they are Africanized. These aggressive bees are taking over a lot of territory and if we believe in nature’s powers of adaptation, they will hybridize themselves across the USA. Hope they lose their cussedness.

The Long Emergency will come on but slowly, in steps. The reaction to the downsteps will be lots of wailing as people find out there is no solution. A large step downward will be when the big social net programs take giant downward plunges because there is no revenue to fund them and people actually want some of their money back from the debt in response. Along with Social Security will be huge reductions in all those pension plans when their underfunding becomes obvious. Again, the populace will hit their bond funds where their is no money, just a house of cards. A significant downturn in the economy will start and over a period of decades erode down to WMBH. We are the leader of the world, economically, so we will be hit the hardest. But the rest of the world will ultimately share the same fate.
And you think you see illegal immigration now. Just wait! We are going to spend some of our last national capital on building walls everywhere trying to keep the international parasites from stealing our “national nest egg”. Do not worry about politics by then, both parties will self destruct in answer to all the enraged voters when neither side has no answers. The popular apathy will no longer exist as people start to starve. The dissolution of the US as localization starts to occur will begin in earnest. Why? Because there will be no reason for cohesion as all the phony patriotism erodes away.
Pretty grim, but challenge the scenario with any positives. What can reverse the trend that I do not see? The Swamp will not just float away, it will be blown up by a furious public. The Swamp is the accelerator but ultimately history will put the blame on the Mob, i.e. Us.

As if re-writing history ie lying about what happened, changes the FACTS.
Because, no matter if we’re talking human history or physics, facts are exceedingly stubborn things. Re-writing history to put malefactors in a better light or to deny their actions doesn’t in the slightest change what they did or the results on the ground.
It’s like saying the WW2 mass-murder of Jews is fiction or dismissing it as Le Pen did as a “detail” of history. Minimizing or denying doesn’t obviate the eradication of European Jewry. Denying camera footage, tons of documentary evidence and eye-witness accounts doesn’t make them re-appear in Europe as a living polity.
Similarly, minimizing the demolition of the US economy or attributing it to vast impersonal forces or denying it altogether doesn’t remove the resultant Mad Maxian Okeefenokee wasteland of ruined communities. It doesn’t deter survival responses like electing Trump or forming armed militias or, as the Arch Druid calls them, “war bands”.

Nope, just like the bosses and readers of the NY Times insist, it was the deficiencies of Trump voters at the bottom of it, like their bred in the bone racism, in complete disregard of the FACT that hundreds of counties that voted for Trump had previously voted TWICE for Obama.
The disregard of FACTS is the road to the status of failed arrangement and it’s historical FACTS ie human actions, that make that determination.
Hillary still thinks she lost because too many women are weak and voted the way their husbands and boyfriends told them. The unspoken presumption is that if one has a vagina, one must vote for a vagina or be branded a disloyal outcast. Other concerns are dismissed as trivial.

You can only hope that another FDR will come to the fore but it seems that the opposite is happening. How else do we explain the respective presidential nominees, two ludicrously incompetent election campaigns, the Democratic Party managing to lose an eminently un-loseable election, the “intelligentsia” (and posters on this site for that matter) proclaiming their impatience with the gripes of fly-over losers, the preposterous series of events that unambiguously indicate an attempted coup… it all points to imminent bone-cracking head-shots.
Still, a modern-day FDR may yet point out what the late FDR pointed out, that the system, as it is, is unworkable, and for the sake of their own self-preservation if nothing else, steps need to be taken by those hoarding wealth and wielding power. If they don’t do it, someone else will. History is most instructive in this.
If nothing else, this lawsuit by the Dems may increase the number of TWATs. Final numbers depend on the extent of backfire.

Soon, in many urban areas, the homeless will take over and the filthy bathrooms will be open for all – no purchase necessary. Henceforth, how dare any manager tell anyone they have to buy something to use the restroom! But the Yuppies, with their lattes and their laptops, will be gone for more promising coffee shops. What we need is to get the message out. Starbucks is the new gathering place for the idle urban street rat.
A large part of managing retail space in any urban environment is shooing away various vagrants and panhandlers (mostly black) from the premises. Now this company will train its staff to allow them to remain as policy. I fully expect homeless blacks to discover that they are free to loiter and camp out at all times in Starbucks facilities, and if chased away – discrimination lawsuit. In fact, we should be encouraging this. I would love nothing more than every Starbucks to be filled with loud, smelly, aggressive, erratically behaving blacks, or those sleeping on the tables, drumming buckets on the sidewalks, and selling their mixtapes to customers in line. Make it to where no reasonable white person wants to shop or work there.

The UK is about to legislate against knives and acid. Apparently one will no longer be able to order a knife on the Internets and have it home delivered…(You don’t need a knife to kill bambi, why you can use a sharp stick…).
The proposed law will also prohibit anyone from carrying acid in public, as well as closely monitoring where acid is sold.
Would you please use your good offices to contact someone of responsibility and advise them that acid…sulfuric acid…is the liquid component (at least a pint) in an auto battery…available anywhere there are vehicles…and usually found in public?

I wish I could say I know you mean well. This harping by you and brh about knives and acid is getting tedious. We know that car batteries contain acid and that, if you’re so inclined, you can do serious damage with a steak knife. I think we can trust the law enforcers to take ‘in public’ to mean ‘on the sunny side of a car bonnet’ (I believe that’s a ‘hood’ over your way), and to know that if you’re caught wandering the streets with your mates with a steak knife in your pocket it’s probably not because you fear being caught unprepared near a pie shop.
So it won’t be illegal to own a car just because its battery contains acid. But once you drain the battery, put the acid in a container and take it for a walk, you will then be subject to prosecution if you are stopped and searched and can’t provide an acceptable reason why your are strolling around with battery acid. But in your heart of hearts you know that.
I know you get great fun out of the fact that a country that doesn’t allow guns nevertheless still sees people murdered and maimed, albeit not in such great numbers, leaving aside a couple of major cities (I believe Manchester has quite high rates of knife crime – my daughter lived there for years, so I thought about it). I’m sorry that it pleases you so much, but there’s nothing I can do about that, so just carry on getting your fun where you can.

There’s no real reason for an hereditary monarchy. The British will probably eliminate the expense of maintaining the institution some day. Does it pay its way, perhaps as a tourist attraction, much like a roadside reptile farm? It’s not clear what the monarch actually does. An elected executive such as we have in the US would be more efficient. (Of course, the US could equally benefit from a parliamentary system with most power stripped from the executive and returned to the legislative branch. Perhaps in a future re-imagining, the US will adopt such a system.)

Today (April 20th) I noticed a posting on my local Nextdoor.com that stood out. I have previously mentioned here about how safe my neighborhood is. But I have not mentioned that my neighborhood has been going through a slow transition over the years. You may understand what I’m referring to.
A gathering of eight to ten police cars was seen at the local YMCA, which is adjacent to the greenbelt/creek/hiking & biking trail. Finally a poster came forward with the [not quite] full story. It seems that the police were looking for a twelve-year old boy on a bicycle. At first, this was misunderstood, as though the youth had simply gone missing, LOL. Finally, another poster told the [still not quite] full story. It seems the youth had tried to high-jack the car of a woman sitting in her driveway texting on her cellphone. He held a knife to her face and that explained the mass-gathering of cops. Well, they caught him hiding in some bushes. Naturally, the kleenex was produced and weepy wishes exchanged on the social network by the ladies hoping the lad will be able to get the professional help he so desperately needs. Now, what is the [full] full story? I don’t know but I suspect, being the bigoted racist that I am, that difficult though it may be, eventually we will know the full story. I will continue to report.
It turns out that this kid is 11, not 12 years old. He is well-known to the police. He was released yesterday from Juvie without a full evaluation, first court date in two weeks, being charged with felony menacing & aggravated robbery. No further information about his background.

This isn’t a wishful thought, I’d rather things go swimmingly along with jolly techno-wizardry and happy folk all helping each other out to build a peaceful and sustainable, resilient world, but let’s face it, there would have to be a huge awakening for that to happen. Yalta set up Eastern Europe as a vassal State to the USSR. Churchill warned FDR that an Iron Curtain would divide Europe if Stalin got his way. FDR was already weakening from the effects of his chronic diseases and was no match for Stalin. Definitely a setup for the Berlin crisis in 1948 that led directly to the Cold War.
Potsdam was Truman and he informed Dear Joe that the US had successfully set off a bomb at Trinity site. I imagine Joe went berserk with the knowledge that the US had the strategic advantage. Definitely a cause of the split that developed. Joe went full bore trying to get the nuclear technology to Russia and probably stole it, He actually had folks in the US that believed that Russia should have the technology to balance the power in the world.
Both conferences set up the contentious feud that led to the Cold War.

The latest issue of the Skeptical Enquirer has an article by Stephen Pinker featured on the cover which discusses one’s attitude about the future. I haven’t read it yet, but I intend to. In any event, I can’t help but be optimistic.

One thing that bothers me is that I think that we are worried about the wrong folks. And not only knew, but apparently went to Wikipedia and looked up the biographies of these gentlemen.
Personally, I could not imagine such a thing a week ago.
And now imagine that after such shifts in consciousness they experienced, when in social networks and forums 15 minutes after Trump announced the beginning of the bombings, rumors started to spread that on the destroyer “Donald Cook” there is a strong explosion and the destroyer is sinking. And then rumors came that Russia destroyed 11 nuclear submarines of Great Britain and the United States and attacked the aircraft carrier Nimitz.
Personally, I am very glad that I did not endure that night.
In any case, purely from a military point of view, such a scenario looks more than likely. What’s the use of sinking a couple of destroyers and an aircraft carrier, and then sitting and waiting for a nuclear response or a quick global strike? But having lost 11 nuclear submarines and a couple of air carrier groups in the first minutes of war, the United States would be thinking hard about whether to respond with a rapid global strike.
Of course in a few minutes “it became known” that it was an accident on “Donald Cook” and no one died, and this discredited rumors about sunken nuclear submarines.
And I did not know anything about this and my imagination did not go further the sinking of Donald Cook and the relevant debate in Congress on the issue of declaring a nuclear war. But when General Mattis and General Dunford appeared for the first press conference, something similar arose in my imagination.
Mattis was pale as a wall, and when asked about the American losses in this operation, he replied that he did not know anything about losses, but became white as a sheet.
However, the suspicions that something extraordinary happened struck me when the live broadcast of the war stopped on almost all channels except CNN. It became clear that there was a Russian response, but it was so convincing that the American General Staff in the first few hours was thinking only of how to hide from the American public what had happened.

Eric Kaufmann has a book coming out later this year called “Whiteshift: immigration, populism and the myth of majority decline”
Kaufmann studies white anxiety about immigration and its political manifestation in phenomena such as Brexit or the Trump vote; but he is not a detached scholar, impartially surveying his field. Instead, he seems to see it as his mission to advise elites on how they can best cajole whites into accepting their own ethnic extinction.
His specialty is A/B testing. He’ll find a group of goyim, present a message in two different ways and see which ones gives the better result. For him, the “better result” always seems to be defined as a willingness to accept more immigration.
Once you have the best of the initial two, you take the winner and pair it with another option, continuing to refine the message into optimal white genocide acceptance is achieved.
For example, he offers these options to British voters:
(a) Increase skilled immigration from Africa and Asia, keeping net migration at 275,000, raising the skilled share from 40% to 50%.
(b) Decrease skilled immigration from Africa and Asia, decreasing net migration from 275,000 to 125,000, lowering the skilled share from 40% to 20%.
He finds that the wording “from Africa and Asia” produces a much more negative response than “from outside Europe”, so policy makers should avoid this phrasing. Then he throws in a bit about demographic projections.

When the demographic projections are included, immigration acceptance falls dramatically. Again, policymakers should avoid this, he advises.
Kaufmann tries to find a message that can appeal to conservatives.
(A) Immigration has risen and fallen over time, but, like the English language, Britain’s culture is only superficially affected by foreign influence. According to Professor X of the University of London, a large share of the children of European immigrants have become White British. Historians tell us that French, Irish, Jews and pre-war black immigrants largely melted into the white majority. Those of mixed race, who share common ancestors with White British people, are growing faster than all minority groups and 8 in 10 of them marry whites. In the long run, today’s minorities will be absorbed into the majority and foreign identities will fade, as they have for public figures with immigrant ancestors like Boris Johnson or Peter Mandelson. (B) Britain is changing, becoming increasingly diverse. The 2011 census shows that White British people are already a minority in four British cities, including London. Minorities’ younger average age, higher birth rate and continued immigration mean that late this century, according to Professor Y, White British people will be in the minority. We should embrace our diversity, which gives Britain an advantage in the global economy.
He finds that the B message stressing diversity or demographic change alarms conservative voters.

I am not real familiar with cyber security but it seems to me that the screens and secrets between nations are breaking down due to increasing ease of hacking through the security systems. Solutions
Welfare, of course, only encourages feckless whelping. It would be foolhardy to point out that this is a disproportionately non-white failing, and Prof. Hardin is brave but not foolhardy. Living Within Limits is therefore tentative about solutions, but all its suggestions are sound.
Prof. Hardin discusses the evils of immigration, whereby rich countries suffer because poor countries cannot control their populations. He is also adamantly opposed to the debilitating “diversity” that immigration inflicts on the United States. True diversity requires separation rather than amalgamation. Population control is a national, not a global problem, and each nation must take responsibility for its own policies.
Optimists believe that voluntary contraception will eventually end reckless procreation but Prof. Hardin explains that contraception is self-limiting. Even when it is available to all, only people with foresight and self-restraint practice it. Whether the effect is genetic or environmental, women from large families go on to have large families of their own. Therefore, voluntary contraception only reduces the number of people who are wise enough to control reproduction, and as their numbers dwindle, they are replaced by intemperate breeders. “Like it or not,” writes Prof. Hardin, “the issue of coercion must be faced” — but he does not face it.
Something else he only hints at is the dysgenic effect of voluntary population control. As Prof. Arthur Jensen has pointed out, a certain level of intelligence is required for any means of reproductive control, and stupid people are incapable of it. Without coercion, Prof. Hardin’s message will be heard and acted on — voluntarily — by those who are already having too few babies to replace themselves.
Today, the people who worry most about “saving the planet” are intelligent white people. Most of them are socialist dreamers who never think about population, but eventually they will heed Prof. Hardin’s message. Although they will go to any extreme to save Spotted Owls or Snail Darters, they are blind to the necessity of preserving human diversity. They are perfectly prepared to let Europeans be displaced by North Africans, and white Americans by blacks and Hispanics. Thus, in the absence of coercion, it will be whites who gamely curtail their reproduction only to be replaced by Africans and Hispanics, who are the ones reproducing at rates that threaten the planet.
Although Prof. Hardin says nothing about this, population control is not just a matter of numbers but of quality. To quote Lenin — of all people — “better fewer but better.” In a world of strictly voluntary population control, whites will do away with themselves for two reasons: First, they are the only people who have lost their sense of racial solidarity and are therefore the only people willing — even eager — to lose ground to other races. Second, it is only they who show real concern about the planet and its resources. Whites will do their ecological duty even if it means their replacement by others. Of course, their sacrifice will have been in vain, since the peoples who supplant them will not scruple to plunder the planet.
Indeed, the issue of coercion must be faced, and the sooner the better.

“The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,” so they say. Usually, a statement that definitive is expected to come with some kind of evidence. Failing that, it should at least come in for re-examination when something in the real world contradicts it as clearly as this incident does.
You’d think, but I’ll lay money you’d be wrong. The 911 dispatcher could not be bothered to give the police patrol the description of the vehicle the kid was trapped in although that and a clear explanation of the location had been given by the victim.
And the police, well they wouldn’t have seen much of anything – not leaving their patrol car during the perfunctory patrol of the school parking lot. And way too much effort would have had to have been expended to ask the dispatcher for a description of the vehicle.

No. Mr. Rove’s statement says that actions will be taken which will not be explained thus excluding the wishes of all others. That is not justice. Justice is inclusive, it does not and can not exclude. Justice does not shape-shift and jump from one false reality to another. Justice is characteristic of the one true reality or it simply does not exist because it characterizes the health of human relations.
Personally I think being placed in an environment to create justice is why we are here but I realize this is my personal aberration.
