As the nation awaits the gruesome spectacle of the so-called debate between Trump and Clinton in an election campaign beneath the dignity of a third-world shit-hole, we are once again up to our eyeballs in manufactured racial strife led by the deliberately prevaricating New York Times. Read today’s front-page story: What We Know About the Details of the Police Shooting in Charlotte, insinuating that the police acted recklessly in the incident.
The facts in the Charlotte, NC, shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott are these: he was shot after refusing repeated loud verbal commands to drop a gun. A gun was found on the scene with his fingerprints on it, along with an ankle holster. Video recordings provide a clear audible record of these commands. Yet the Times story says: “Body and dashboard camera footage released on Saturday provided no clear evidence that Mr. Scott had a gun. In the video, Mr. Scott’s arms were at his sides and he was backing away from his vehicle when he was shot.
It happened that the various vehicles parked on the scene interfered with the all the video footage of the critical moment: dashboard cam, officer’s body cam, and the cell phone cam of Mr. Scott’s wife. But the insinuation seems to be that because the video doesn’t show a gun, perhaps there wasn’t one.
The police insist that Mr. Scott was holding a gun. Why is The New York Times bent on ambiguating this story? The officer who shot Mr. Scott was black. The Charlotte police chief is black. Does the Times mean to say that they are incompetent, dishonest, and reckless? Does the Times seek to reinforce a popular notion that police in general, including black police and their supervisors, are determined to oppress black Americans generally? Does the Times wish to sow even more distrust and animosity between black America and the police?
It sure seems that way. And what is The New York Times’s interest in dragging out the supposed ambiguity of the Scott case? I shall tell you why: because yielding to the obvious truth in the matter would not support the election campaign meme that Black America requires the protection of the Democratic Party against genocidal police forces across the nation.
One result so far is several nights of “protest marches” in Charlotte that led to the shooting death of another person, a black man, by another black man in the crowd, for reasons as yet unknown, plus a lot of property damage due to looting and mayhem on the part of the mob.
Why is it so important to political progressives to keep feeding the story that great numbers of black people are being unjustly murdered by police? The facts, of course, suggest that this is not true. Earlier this summer, The Washington Post could not ignore the study published by black Harvard economist Roland Fryer, Jr. How a controversial study found that police are more likely to shoot whites, not blacks. And why in the long-running issue is it such a low priority to ask the truly salient question in all of these fatal confrontations: how are the suspects actually behaving during the incidents in question?
As a blog-writer, I correspond with some interesting people. One of them is a middle-aged black man who has worked for a long time in the Baltimore black ghetto. He is one of those rare Americans these days not susceptible to pre-cooked ideas about what is actually going on in this country. He would prefer to remain anonymous for reasons that ought to be self-evident, but I want you to see his interesting theory about what is going on in the black community vis-à-vis the police shooting meme. The subject line in his email to me was “Trauma programming.”
Its a type of narcissism designed to compensate for [the] fact nobody (of any value) really wants to deal/interact with them; therefore, they gladly adopt this false narrative that “somebody is after us and wants to kill us…”
See how that raises their value by claiming somebody “wants us?”
Its like the ugly fat girls obsessed with getting raped/sexually assaulted.
Truth be told, because so many black people are not useful to each other and/or other people… they end up only a liability. Therefore, most people spend a significant amount of time trying to dodge them. (but the police can’t do this)
This increases their sense of worthlessness, which forces them to cling ever so tighter to this false narrative of “the police are after us and want to kill us…”
(nobody wants you and we wish you would just go away)
But wait,
it gets worse.
At this point, some black people decide, “try as you might, I’m NOT going to allow you to ignore me, because I’m going to act like a belligerent a-hole until I force you to deal/interact with me…”
NOW you gotta call the police.
And when the police show up, the black person says:
“see, here come the police; they are always after us because they want to kill us…”
But at the end of the day, the key is; the “Long Emergency” is generating increasing numbers of superfluous people; black people are only the most visible, vocal element of this phenomenon.

No life is superfluous, all valuable.
About 6 billion lives are superfluous right now. As in insufficient resources to sustainably feed them. Unfortunately, in the coming descent, some of the less useful lives will be spared while some of the more useful ones will be snuffed out.
I used to think life was precious. Then I grew up and realized that life is cheap. Any two idiots can get together and create a person without the slightest bit of effort or concern. We have way too many people on this planet and the herd will soon be thinned.
A lot of young white men are offing themselves with heroin overdoses as we speak.

Frankly, it should be categorized as Comedy — Tragic Comedy, even though the POTUS these days is merely the Face of the Nation and not much more. As we await the political version of Jackass tonight, here’s a little something to chew on to pass the time and clear the arteries.

The same irrationality which said O.J. was innocent now says that black people are being targeted by police. The descriptive word for the same irrationality when it grips whites and not blacks is called racism. I imagine the white hooded horse riding Klan member of a hundred years ago would have had no trouble chanting ‘white lives matter‘ on their midnight terror rides.
So Blacks can’t be racist? You just can’t get it straight, can you? You can’t even be fair within the limits of your little PC paradigm. I wont even ask for a definition of racism, because that would take you out of the paradigm and you wont go.
To be a bit more fair: your paradigm itself is unfair. You are just a true believer who wont question it. A Fundy.
Right now I’m not pissed at you Janos. Instead I feel sorry for you. We generally don’t agree on much but black people can be as racist as whites can be. It isn’t PC to say so but it is most certainly true. That is what I was saying in the paragraph you jumped on. You took the exact opposite conclusion to the point I was making.
It must be hard to go through life being so trapped in bigotry that you can’t even tell when an opponent is saying something with which you agree. I feel sorry for you for that.

Muslims are more united againt Kaffirs than divided by skin tone. Muslims are plenty racist internally.
Black Americans are the most-outwardly-racist people I have ever met, which is refreshing. American Natives (treaty Indians) come close to Blacks in how much they hate me before meeting. They hate me because I’m smart, determined, cooperative, skilled, charitable, and have the accumulated wealth & culture of dozens of generations before me. At least I don’t have Blacks sucking up to me in preparation of poisoning my food or stabbing me in the back when asleep, like so many jealous Whites are prone to.

It seems we need to officially define “suicide by cop” as a cause of death.
And it can be the official way that society gets rid of undesirable or incompetent people of any race who are not mentally fit sufficiently to submit to police authority. Didn’t Nazi Germany have a policy like that?
It’s probably the cheapest way to go, but then we also should invest expanding mental health benefits for cops. With proper propaganda techniques they can be convinced the people they kill are not fully human.
The transcript will tell you nothing. Tonight’s “debate” will be even less about facts, and the candidates’ command of them, than was the case in Nixon vs Kennedy or Gore vs W. Tonight’s debate will likely determine who will be our next president, based upon which of these repugnant people the voters find less unlikable.
If I were coaching Trump for this I’d tell him not even to worry about facts. “If they like you better than her tonight, you’re in.” Assuming, of course, that the likability factor is sufficiently large as to overcome the extent to which the Hilary campaign will be able to rig electronic voting machines.
If you look at JFK and Nixon or Gore vs W there was substance there. I have a feeling tonight will have precious little. There is just nothing to work with. A Wall. Email gate. The cackle. The hair. he Ban. Cough.
Maybe JFK versus Nixon. Gore versus W? Substance?
A transcript is not going to be any good if all you are watchng for is to see if she has a grand mal twitch.
I think she can control that somehow for the fifteen minute intervals, or there wouldn’t be fifteen minute intervals planned. I think the most likely symptom we might see is that eyeball turning in. I noticed in that video she made where she’s hollering at union workers, she keeps her eyes riveted on a fixed object, kind of the way dancers performing spins are trained to focus on the same spot to avoid dizziness. I figure that must have been a method to maintain control. It will look really strange on live TV.
I’m not going to watch the freak show though, as I feel that makes me a freak.
Perhaps her medical aid can give her medication to get her through so watching what she does to keep her eyes under control may tell us as much as if she actually does lose it.

I was disappointed last night. She looked and performed much better than the Trumpers had been projecting. Course, he couldn’t go all attack-dog against a woman on the first debate, now could he?
I think many will be watching to see if Hillary Clinton has a “health meltdown” of any kind.
Kinda like watching Olympics figure-skating to see someone eat the ice. Sweaty palms and all that.
I am going to go to Santa Monica to watch the debate with a women’s Republican group at their headquarters.
I figure the Hillary bashing will give me a good fix going into the week.
I am voting for Jill Stein because she best represents my domestic and foreign policy concerns (Medicare for All, no stupid “regime change” wars etc.), she appears “normal” and healthy and I believe she actually has a conscience, which obviously Clinton does not.
I am hoping that Trump goes for Clinton’s jugular and gets her really good. I hope he calls her an “un-indicted criminal” and questions her “judgement” and that when he pushes her buttons she has a meltdown in front of 100,000,000 viewers.
Yeah, I’ll be watching.
I will be watching with the same attitude and hopes as you tonight. I would also gladly vote for Stein, if that could serve any purpose.
Now that Trump has destroyed the Republican Party I am compelled to vote for him in hopes that his victory can destroy the Democrats.
You Republican women will need a new home. Let’s all meet at the Green Party after November.
I don’t think Trump has a chance. Remember all the pundits saying Romney was going to win in spite of the polls. They talk up the old white guy, that’s what they do. There are too many minorities now, and while they may not love Hillary, they’ll hold their nose and cast their vote.
Voting machines. It’s all about who controls the firmware.
That’s the spirit. Jill is a Marxist Socialist and Trump is a National Socialist, an American Firster. The Global Elite hate that and will try and destroy him. They can work with the silliness of a Jill Stein though, sincere as she may be. I mean Liz Warren is sincere too or thinks that she is. Many say the same of Clinton herself. Jim Jones was no doubt once good too. And Sauron was once beautiful. They all set out to do good but ended up doing well.
The humble (not so humble) Pride of a Trump is far preferable to the proud humility of a Stein, Warren, Clinton, Jones, or Sauron.
“Pride goeth before a fall.” The works of men often instill shame rather than pride. Calling a donkey a horse doesn’t make him a Pegasus.
Nor does saying “Peace, peace, where there is no peace” create peace. It’s a time for hatred and war. God wills it. Would you go against God?

I pray she has a meltdown but not because I am cruel. There is still time for her to step down and let a Democrat with a level head run in her place. Her health problems are serious and left to her own devices she will try and hide them and hand the election to Trump as she runs her campaign into the ground by so doing. Left to her own devices Hillary will not take the high road. We know her well enough to be sure of that.
Trump apparently heeded the advice not to go ballistic so well that he refrained from going after her numerous times where she could have been skewered.
The trauma programming is on the big agenda of the propaganda organs of the Evil Ones. It sensitizes the intended target (as Jim’s anonymous Black correspondent points out) – the Black Community – to their role as “victim,” while at the same time desensitizes the broader populace into understanding that these events are normal and run-of-the-mill. Hence we have places like CHicago and Baltimore, South Central L.A. and Liberty CIty, Miami, where violence is not only expected but encouraged by the very media machine that espouses to claim racism and bias are the causal problems. NOt to be confused with 70% plus out-of-wedlock births, an “entertainment” “cultcha” -Hip Hop – that glorifies drug dealing, prostitution, cold-blooded murder, and “Gettin Money” as the virtues of the Ghetto life. PLay some Tupac whydontcha.
Also don’t forget the “Terror” programming . ALthough Yzlamik terror in the West is not a figment of the imagination, it is being portrayed as a “workplace violence” issue; a lack-of-jobs issue, a radicalization of perfectly normal peaceful citizens instead of the reality of Yzlamik cult-yur. See the Washington Mall shooter suspect as portrayed in the Media as “hispanic.” Disgusting abuse of power.
The New York Times, as the flagship of print media in the United States, displays clearly its position as the tip-of-the-spear propaganda tool for the Evil-Fuckers-In Charge. To show how much they care, Hillary Rodan Clinton received a glowing endorsement for the presidency by the NYT just this weekend.
Living here I was very interested in the Cascade Shooter before he was taken into custody as Arcan Cetin. I am only a bit more than an hour away from the mall and it took a day for him to be found. It was disgusting to see every tenth word be ‘terror’ as I scoured the news for real info. It is scary to think how many thinking brains don’t appreciate the degree of manipulation to which we are subject but that’s another story.
The glorification of thuggery has sent some very bad messages to youth. Everyone is confused and it did not have to be that way but that’s how it worked out. No models, bad messages and a video education are the tool kit of our youth. Zombie people animated by emotions without memory walk the streets.
I could hope they don’t vote but it does not really matter and they are not the worst of it. The worst are the people on the edge who get pushed over the edge in the confusion of it all. Be it a bullies teen aged relationship gone sour like in the case of Arcan Cetin pulling the trigger on uncontrolled rage or something else.

I have said when it first became widespread that gangsta rap will be young black people’s downfall. But, I’m more angry at the media outlets that put that poison out there , they preyed on young impressionable minds, all to add to “shareholder value”. You didn’t see the black people who objected to that “art form” (and there were a lot black people) because like the majority of white people, we don’t own any nationwide media companies. I feel it was almost by design, get tough on crime laws and simultaneously glorifying the hustling life outside of normal society. I don’t care for the tactics of black lives matter, but then again I will not be asked for my opinion, or any other black that doesn’t help the media create an atmosphere of chaos and unrest. I know that there are people that want to think that this is a race issue and ignore the offshoring of jobs and, the shrinking tax base of the major cities, the FAILED drug war, and the rise of the prison industrial complex. You will see some black on TV with a caption denoting some type of leadership role in the black community. Most times the only blacks those black leaders are around is when they have a camera staring them in the face. The so called black leaders are like the rest of the leadership in the country. they are going to do what they are paid to do and that is to promote the policies of the 1%. It appears the policy now is more security (for them), more control (over you), more things that are against the law. They got you scared of ISIS although a couple of bombs went off in this country and some people were hurt, but that is nothing like what happens in Syria and Yemen every day and now they working on you with some silly black youths burning up a couple of stores. You’ll get scared and either from the right of the left, someone will offer another solution to take more rights away from you. We ask the police to do too much in this country. I want you to think about this, why are all these shootings becoming so prevalent in the media in the last year or so. I haven’t read an article where blacks being shot by police has spiked in recent years. The media is manipulating you. they are manipulating black people to think that that they need more protection. They are manipulating white people for more laws on the books, so you can build more jails. I worked in a prison for a few months, it was a female prison, I was struck by what is portrayed on TV and what the reality was. I admit it was a very well run system, I felt very safe, What struck me was the racial composition. State prisons are where they keep most of the violent offenders, federal prisons are mostly white collar crimes. I would say that in that particular prison 80% were white females. One day I was talking to a fellow nurse about their prospects once they get released, the reply was without an economy (jobs) to support them, they will go back into whatever they know. I am struck by the amount of people who have disconnected our economy from our social ills. People look at TV and think that crime and unrest is an exclusively black problem, but the white underclass is suffering too. “Well if they had morals, they wouldn’t be out there committing crimes”, funny I didn’t seem to hear much of that when the revelations on the business practices of Wells Fargo came to light. I have several young people come to me every week, on the streets asking me for money, white, black whatever, and I try to give them something, not out of fear but out of compassion. These young people are trying to eat, or help feed what families they have, but if they have a drug conviction in their record, they can’t get a job, or the jobs don’t pay enough to support themselves. We love to sort people out by race, class, or mistakes they have made in life, this country used to be about second chances, we have become weak, cheap and scared.
Get your enemies to fight amongst themselves. It is strategy that goes all the way back to ‘The Art Of War’. The privileged class knows how to do this very well.

But in this “anti-Establishment” election I can see The New York Times endorsement back-firing on Clinton.
There is nary one “establishment” figure who is NOT supporting Hillary Clinton! Even George H.W. Bush will be voting for her! All of Wall Street, the entire MSM (think Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes and Co., except for Sean Hannity and Co.), Michael Bloomberg, Mark Cuban, Warren Buffett, Condi Rice, and some dastardly types like Henry Kissinger and Neocon architect Robert Kagan.
Not to mention all the wealthy Hampton’s crowd and the west coast movie stars.
Haim Saban and his wife are supporting her strictly because she says she will always put “Israel First!”.
I think there will be a tidal wave of voters coming out on November 8th to vote for Donald J. Trump “the non-politician” with zero political experience and zero “establishment” backing.
People are in the mood to upset the apple cart and my prediction is that on election night the pundits heads will be exploding on CNN and MSNBC as their fancy electoral map turns red, red, red.
I just want to hear Hillary Clinton’s congratulatory call to Trump.
One poll shows Trump even with Clinton in Minnesota.
Clinton could well still win, but it is hard to think of what she can do to revive her campaign.
Whether one concurs with the assessment, after this debate, Hillary’s claim that Trump is unfit to serve compared to her is out the window.

Another way in which the Democratic race related meme is being supported , is through well funded leftist campaigns to sow chaos and discord by means of outside agitators coming to these areas to foment violence. In the recent unrest in Charlotte, a significant number of those arrested were from out of state. Ditto for Ferguson, Baltimore, ad nauseum . Of course, the Obama justice dept will not enforce relevant federal law that is designed to prevent just this type of interstate trafficking in unrest. another example of the rule of un-law that is our federal government.
FYI – the relevant federal statute:
Federal law (18 U.S. Code § 2101) makes it a crime to travel or to use interstate communications (which includes social media) “(1) to incite a riot; or (2) to organize, promote, encourage, participate in, or carry on a riot; or (3) to commit any act of violence in furtherance of a riot; or (4) to aid or abet any person in inciting or participating in or carrying on a riot or committing any act of violence in furtherance of a riot.”
It would help if they could even call a riot a riot. A big part of their obfuscation is to insist that all of these incidents are just peaceful protests that “got out of hand.”
Shameless for the NY Times to print such falsehoods in the face of the evidence. Pure political ploy.
The video they should be focussing on is the one we weren’t supposed to see, that cell phone video of a candidate for POTUS collapsing and being thrown into a van.
That wasn’t ambiguous, and the ‘explanations’ by an MD are an attempt at ambiguity that come across as pure BS.
Bottom line is black racism is penile. Would white people care if black men slept with white women if their penis’s were known to be smaller than average? I kind of doubt it. Remember the movie “Unforgiven.” The instigating event in that movie is a prostitute laughing at a man’s tiny little pecker, then it’s a war between the sexes, something like 10 people die because a woman snickered at the size of a man’s gear. That is how pathetic we men are. We had Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, proclaim on national TV he’s got a no problem down there. Now think about it. Wouldn’t it been better to just have ignored it. Wouldn’t that have been the adult thing to do. We have a child running for president of the country.

Why don’t you hate women too for their snickering? If women were so very moral, they wouldn’t select jerks with money and fame, but they do. Women are sex object, men are success objects. The reverse is true to a less extent as well. The penis size is even more secondary, coming in after good looks and muscles for most women. You seem to have a fixation. I live over fifty miles from Tulsa. The problem becomes sifting the details, from multiple incidents, in increasing quantities, while not watching football, eating pork skins and mowing the yard – our last defense against the wilderness.
Therefore, most people spend a significant amount of time trying to dodge them.

The “wow” factor is present big-time this week in your blog, JHK.
Why in the hell, here in central Iowa, is the best farmland in the world being destroyed by urban sprawl? It’s because the white people who live in those new strand-board McMansions, and work in those new office parks, and shop at the ugly new strip malls, want to get as far away as they can from the black people who occupy central Des Moines. The whites know they have an economic advantage over the blacks, who cannot afford such suburban “luxury”. So we have white flight away from the blacks.
We live on the outer edge of central Des Moines. Within less than a year, there have been four murders within a seven-block radius of our home. We are getting closer each day to moving out to the ‘burbs. (Yes, we are white.) (The homicides are all unsolved. It is not known if the perpetrator(s) are white, or black, or other.)

I wouldn’t blame the Times so much, as they were only following the (flawed) logic of the story. People were clamoring for the police to release the video. The police released it, and as is so often the case, the evidence is neither condemning nor exculpatory. The question is, should any accusations have been made in the first place? Of course it is possible that the gun could have been planted by the police, but without any direct evidence (not even hearsay) would a sane society have any justification to make these accusations (even now I’m sure many blogs are referring to Scott without qualification as “unarmed”). It is only the subsequent protests, and none of the known facts of the case, that make this a national story.
As for the fact that the officer and his superior are African-American, the explanation you will be given involves “institutional racism.” By this theory, it is not necessary for an officer (or anybody else) to be consciously racist, when their role in society compels them to racist behavior. That is why so many people who used to be heroes of the Left are now condemned as instruments of the white supremacist patriarchy. They can’t help themselves. Ironically, this lets genuine racists off the hook–they can’t help themselves either (a number of people complaining of “political correctness” really are deplorable bigots, and they are making things worse for the rest of us free speech advocates). It’s social determinism gone mad.
Incidentally, some large corporations are immune to Institutional Racism. That’s why an assistant football coach who wears a sombrero at a party, with no intent to incite hatred, is racist, but Taco Bell, which is about as Mexican as my Aunt Sally, is all right.
The video didn’t help Rodney King and wound up causing riots where 55 people died and 2,000 were injured and $1,000,000,000.00 in damage. What I saw was 6 white cops wailing on a man like he was an animal. Even if Rodney King killed somebody he deserved better treatment than that.
What I keep trying to tell people I know, is that by trying to make this a race issue we are obfuscating the problem. I saw a bunch of police so poorly trained they would have beat a man to death over a traffic infraction. Because it was “procedure”.
Rodney at that point was too drug-addled to comply. We see a too-large number of killings of people who are too crazy to comply as well. It is my belief that the mentally ill should not lose all of their rights just because of a condition they cannot help. Drunks, while they should certainly be held responsible for harm they do after choosing to drink, should not lose their right to their own life or physical safety.
I think of a local man who went on a steroid fueled rampage at a gym. He did assault a man, but at the point the police arrived, that man was safe and the ‘roid rager was merely assaulting furniture. Nevertheless, he lost his life when a cop who didn’t wait for backup for a situation she could not handle, tased him not once, not twice, but three times, which caused his death.
A shocking number of people have vehemently disagreed with me about that particular case.

A few years back, the news broke of a new group of fresh faced Idaho Police Officer Standards and Training Academy graduates who chose as their graduation slogan “Don’t suffer from PTSD, go out and cause it.” These guys were freshly trained and suffered none of the battle hardening that supposedly leads to out of control cops.
Part of the problem is encouraging and selecting ex-military forces to become cops. Part of the problem is training cops in legally defensible tactics such as beating the hell out of someone while yelling “stop resisting”. It makes me wonder, how many people are trained to resist the fight or flight instinct when being attacked?

My all time favorite: an elderly man was having a heart attack. Against his protests, his wife called 911. He refused to get in to the ambulance because he had no insurance, and was hoping to ride out the attack (risky, but not impossible). The Cops arrived and demanded he get in. He kept refusing so they tased him – a man who had just had a heart attack.
There are a lot of these tragedies on youtube. Terrible feeding frenzies where more and more cops show up, tasing, bellowing, and beating. Do they not realize the more they tase, the less a person CAN obey, since being tased makes you lose control of their body. Do they even care?

I recently finished reading, yesterday as a matter of fact, “White Trash: The 400-Year Untold History of Class in America” by Nancy Isenberg. My take-away, to paraphrase NPR, is that we have always been a society based on class and will continue to be a society based on class. We can call it different things, but despite our kicking and screaming that “WE ARE A CLASSLESS SOCIETY,” it is who we are. We can call it different things, and the fact that we now have the 99% vs the 1%, it is clear that privilege runs deep in this country.
And privilege runs the programming at NPR. Some even call it National Petroleum Radio. Be careful.

I think class is fundamentally about shame, and its frustrations are endurable as long as there are others lower than you for you to direct your contempt, while shame directed upwards as resentment is more dangerous to society.

If a group of scholars and sociologists were to adopt twenty newborn babies from the inner cities of Baltimore, Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta etc. and take them to an island to raise them all with good food and love and lots of books and an excellent education my bet is that regardless of their backgrounds they would all end up well-behaved and enlightened human beings having achieved “self-realization” because all of Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” would have been met.
Every “criminal” in the world was not “born” a criminal. They all learned to be criminals for a multitude of reasons.

When a baby is born into a household with no father and a mother who doesn’t have any idea how to raise this child and financial sustenance and a lack of basic education are missing, we end up with what we see now. It is an endless cycle that must be broken.

One of the Freakonomics first studies was to find very good statistical evidence that the reduction in violent crime was primarily due to ABORTION RIGHTS! When women and their partners are not forced to have babies they do not want, cannot afford and are not prepared to take care of, the reduction in unwanted kids leads to a drop in crime. Unwanted kids are more frequently abused, cause domestic strife and then grow up to have problems from being unwanted and abused. Why the Republican patriarchy is so adamant to force women to have babies they do not want when the world is already overpopulated is beyond me. Not only is it an issue of women’s rights to control their own body as the Freakonomic study shows unwanted children causes a host of other problems.
Killing children to prevent crime or ensure someone else’s socio-economic status later in life sounds a bit creepy to me, like a “blood-pact” with the devil.

As an elected member of government as well as an active member in the CERT Teams of two local Townships, I can personally attest to the fact that in any system of any kind, one of the most important tasks leadership is faced with is the control of people. Undisciplined, civilian crowds are an especially daunting task whether you are trying to keep them out of the streets during a parade or keep them from burning down the neighborhood. Control can be effected by words, laws, signs, sometimes programming, advertising if you will, or the manipulation of small fear can get the crowd to respond in the fashion you wish them to. Manipulators like Al Sharpton have been able to stir up anger and perceived oppression in black communities to manipulate crowds into violence which not only gives even more power of control to those tasked to maintain order but lines the pockets of such manipulators from opportunities that arise from such violence. Al has risen to the pinnacle of “success” in this field by his abilities to do this.. Those who have little have little to lose by becoming violent are quick to abandon peaceful methods Most blacks are probably just like most white and other races who simply want to live out their lives in peace, but there are far too many that are being manipulated into violence by whatever means or to whatever ends and this is a big problem. Of course, if you are a foreign power that already has US sanctions on you,NATO bases ringed around you, hostile US policies, hostile diplomacy, destabilizing covert actions in neighboring countries, and you have nukes, then maybe the calculus works out differently and it does make sense to throw some cash at destabilizing the USA. As for the rest of the post, I like the Trauma Programming Theory. It makes a lot a sense. This whole mess in Charlotte is a real shit show. I don’t know why NYT and other media are trying to make this a racial issue. As you point out, Mr. Scott is black, the officer was black and the chief is black. So unless the officer is a self-loathing black guy, I doubt it was anything racial.
As for the gun, I don’t believe the government (police included) when they claim anything until I see independently verified evidence that backs up their claim. Yes there was a gun on Mr. Scott that had is finger prints on it. If you own a gun and handle it, it will have your prints on it. Did he have his gun drawn when he was outnumbered by a couple of officers? I doubt it. Did he have any outstanding warrants or anything of the sort that would give him dire motivation to shoot his way out of a run in with the police. I haven’t seen the police release anything saying as such.
My take on the issue is that he wasn’t following their orders as they wished and perhaps made a wrong/sudden move and the office flinched. That’s all it takes. Once that first shot is fired, adrenaline and training take over and you have a couple/few more in quick succession.
So if I’m right, we have a shitty, unfortunate situation that resulted in a man losing his life and a police officer who has to live with that the rest of his life. Then to make matters worse, the media and provocateurs make it all about race and victim-hood. And then start mob riots and destroying property owned by people who had nothing to do with it.
I think that in a way sums up the human/community/social aspect of the Long Emergency in this country.

So if Mr. Scott refused to follow orders and then made some move with his body that looked like reaching for a weapon, then the police will react. It is their training (assuming they are well trained).

That seems to be the common denominator in all of these shootings. In some of them the victim wasn’t doing anything wrong and wasn’t a criminal. In others they were thugs that were resisting arrest and / or had a weapon. And it must be said, a few of them seem to have been out and out homicide at the hands of the police as in Oklahoma. Given all of the publicity of these shootings, why on earth wouldn’t you cooperate when to police are screaming at you to freeze or drop your weapon? “Hands up don’t shoot” shouldn’t be a protest chant, but is good advice to anyone being confronted by the cops. The irony of that phrase is that Michael Brown never said it, but might still be alive if he had.

It seems the particular issue of Racism could be set aside by sinking the Beagle! Sharing: Works until someone ruins it by taking advantage of it or . So then you have to “regulate” sharing. Or rather “enforce” it. (See: big government). Paul Craig Roberts says in a recent interview on Youtube with Greg Hunter that if the Pentagon Papers were given to the NYT times TODAY (9/20/2016) the editors would never publish them or anything else criticizing the Washington D.C. establishment. Any and all major news arms are bought and paid for by the oligarchy according to their lack of reporting of facts and lack of critical thinking in regards to national/international policy. He boiled everything down in U.S.A politics over the last 50 years to whether or not people and leaders would accept U.S.A hegemony in their international policy. He ended by saying only two countries need to withdraw from NATO to prevent thermonuclear WWIII with Russia/China.
On a side note…Paul Craig Roberts…an economist who served in the Reagan administration…says that when the Fed Reserve reported 34 yr olds still living with their parents; marks the end of prosperity for America. There are no jobs that can support anymore new householders. When the old householders all pass away, there will be no more savings or capital left for improvements in the existing infrastructure. Most of 34 yr old income will be spent on necessities like food, shelter, insurance and smartphones.
Eventually they will not have enough money for smartphones, nor insurance, nor anything NEW.
The resale/refurbish market will be all that is left in America in my opinion. We will see garage sales as a permanent fixture, every weekend starting on pay day Friday and running thru Sunday. Whatever can’t be bought will be swapped and more problems will erupt for the police to administer in regards to yard sales.
The future could be worse than that.

Kunstler dances around the topic of the “illusion of prosperity” when referring to suburbia. I don’t think he comes right out and says those words but he bluntly states that whatever value has been associated with that way of life is GONE. This is reiterated by the lack of jobs THAT CANNOT SUPPORT ANY NEW SUBURB and possibly many old ones. A lot of money has been moved out of older suburbs to support new ones. The “this old house”, “fix it and flip it” theater is never REALLY concerned about budgets or the actual work hours that go into projects nor whether anyone will buy the house at market value. They always seem to come up with the money to finish projects…probably because advertisers revenue is paying for everything. Home Depot and Lowes give the illusion of competition when they both sell the same stuff, with the same suppliers, for the same prices and were both recently built to support the recent renovation boom because mom and dad’s houses have now become outdated and energy inefficient. The gov’t even gave tax breaks to get people to fix up their homes, creating a temporary moment of prosperous economic activity with real work being done paid for by credits and HUGE savings in energy costs. So the reason why this is not going to work anymore for anyone, even the wealthy rentiers, is because you need real work with a real, regular income to pay for real stuff (general infrastructure) over a period of 75 to 100 years. That’s what governments should protect. They should provide a stable place for a home and businesses to be built in order to be self sustaining (pay for the infrastructure they need to function on a daily basis).
Most countries outside of the USA and it’s major allies could care less about keeping up appearances. Large overpopulated nations like INDIA, BRAZIL, MEXICO and AFRICA do not care about their slums. CHINA and RUSSIA and JAPAN have worked hard to create places that actually look half decent for poor people to live but there are no REAL jobs. Making plastic spongebob pencil holders or Iphone 6 zebra print cases or answering the phone for absentee network administrators for a dollar a day is not anyone’s idea of a real job that will support a family and pension. It’s designed to give one something to do and will likely lead to a deficit because fads often come and go overnight.
So, my followup question is…what are these 34 yr olds living with mom and dad expected to do in order to pay for their necessities of life and future social security benefits? Do they all join the armed forces and fight terrorism abroad? Do they learn basic plumbing, electric and carpentry so they can fix stuff for their parents for free and prevent paying a professional exorbitant hourly wages thus further depressing the local economy and possibly creating a mechanical catastrophy down the line? Do they all start programming for computer/internet based business, mining for bitcoin or thinking up the next great app for your phone that isn’t really new and uses existing information that is free to the public if they knew how to find it themselves (current maps, public databases, store discounts, public transit). Do they go into politics, volunteerism and activism fighting for policies that allow more liberal forms of living and working like growing “medicinal plants” for “alternative healthcare”, forming communes that practice a more tolerant religion. Do they become entertainers forming rock bands, professional sports teams or fashion lines with regular youtube channels and podcasts? How does this X, Y or Z generation make use of their parents dying system of things? Will the Clinton or Trump dynasties have time to figure it all out for us.

I have always waived the majority of co pays and deductibles because the insurance companies have paid me much more than enough. I completely agree that the medical industry is a racket combined with big pharma, the insurance companies, the medical equipment industry

I sit, covered with blanket as a French soldier in 1812 (I am under a weather lately), and watch the TV debates between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. I have before me the May leaf tea in the cup holder with Red Army locomotive, brown bread and a package of Russian drug with raisins (Russian Tvorog = Cottage cheese with raisins). I make notes in a school notebook, recording footage of the most remarkable moments.
At first I watched a shortened CNN version titled “The best moments of TV debates”, but it was something more reminiscent of Hillary Clinton’s commercial. Naturally I did not watch the results of the debate, since I knew what it says, and I can on this occasion observe that from the beginning the media attributed to Donald Trump defeat in all debates and unanimously predicting the imminent collapse of his campaign, and in a meantime his headquarters keep accumulating the best scientists and industrialists, and it always draws millions of voters to his side.
And the media is cynically taking advantage of this, as these debates thanks to Trump wanted to see more than 100 million people, almost twice the previous TV debate.
And it became clear to me why, when I started to watch the full version of TV debates. I naturally took notes, but Trump was so precise, logical and understandable, with the figures in hand talking about such stunningly interesting circumstances that I finished, simply outlining his answers for myself since I recently became interested in the economics. I do not know who Trump was talking to – Stiglitz or to the ordinary voter, but it was very difficult to catch something explicit in the Clinton’s speech, to make a note. A continuous stream of regular political gum that’s just lulls, and interesting facts (usually a blatant lie) as a rule, goes straight into the subconscious, bypassing the mind.

I just saw the debate. I think that Trump won even though the MSM tried to rig it against him. For example, the silly Birther question and no questions about the emails, the Clinton Foundation, etc. I think that Trump won.

Twenty governments commissioned an independent report in 2012 from the group DARA International to study the human and economic costs of climate change. It linked 400,000 deaths worldwide to climate change each year, projecting deaths to increase to over 600,000 per year by 2030. When scientists attribute deaths to climate change, they don’t just mean succumbing to a heat wave or, as Huckabee put it, to sunburn. Heat waves kill many, to be sure, but global warming also devastates food security, nutrition, and water safety. Since mosquitoes and other pests thrive in hot, humid weather, scientists expect diseases like malaria and dengue fever to rise. Floods threaten to contaminate drinking water with bacteria and pollution.
When the report looked at the added health consequences from burning fossil fuels—aside from climate change—the number of deaths jumps from 400,000 to almost 5 million per year. Carbon-intensive economies see deaths linked to outdoor air pollution, indoor smoke from poor ventilation, occupational hazards, and skin cancer.
Now, compare that to terrorist incidents between 2000-2013, compiled in the 2014 Global Terrorism Index by the Institute for Economics and Peace. There were 18,000 deaths from terrorist attacks in 2013, a peak year. Over the 13-year period studied, 100,000 people died. Unlike the widespread impacts of climate change, terrorist threats are targeted. Most of the attacks in 2013 affected just five countries—Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Syria.
The ultimate irony of TRUMP and Republicans brushing off the impact of climate change: Drought and extreme weather can destabilize developing regions, making climate change one of the factors that drives terrorism.

Among them: a dishwasher in Florida. A glass company in New Jersey. A carpet company. A plumber. Painters. Forty-eight waiters. Dozens of bartenders and other hourly workers at his resorts and clubs, coast to coast. Real estate brokers who sold his properties. And, ironically, several law firms that once represented him in these suits and others.
Trump’s companies have also been cited for 24 violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act since 2005 for failing to pay overtime or minimum wage, according to U.S. Department of Labor data. That includes 21 citations against the defunct Trump Plaza in Atlantic City and three against the also out-of-business Trump Mortgage LLC in New York. Both cases were resolved by the companies agreeing to pay back wages.
In addition to the lawsuits, Trump has been hit with more than 200 mechanic’s liens — filed by contractors and employees against Trump, his companies or his properties claiming they were owed money for their work — since the 1980s.
The liens range from a $75,000 claim by a Plainview, N.Y., air conditioning and heating company to a $1 million claim from the president of a New York City real estate banking firm.
On just one project, Trump’s Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, records released by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission in 1990 show that at least 253 subcontractors weren’t paid in full or on time, including workers who installed walls, chandeliers and plumbing.

I didn’t see the debate live since I was at work during the debate.
I read the MSM post-debate comments on the Internet, which gave the impression that Hillary embarrassed Trump. Late afternoon, I was quite surprised when I received an email from an American friend in the US who thinks that Trump won the debate.
I watched the debate last night via YouTube. My impression was that Trump held his own and Trump may have arguably won. Frankly, I was a bit surprised since Trump is just a real estate developer and TV personality. In contrast Hillary is a Senator, US Secretary of State, Corporate Lawyer. As such, Hillary should have wiped the floor with Trump. That did not happened, and Trump may have arguably “won” the debate, depending upon how you define “win”.
Anyway, it’s all just a big Freak Show now. As George Carlin said: “When you’re born into this life you’re given a ticket to the freak show. If you’re born in the US, you’re given a front row seat.”
Huge strategic win for Trump.

Germany could not have defeated the US without invading the US, and that was simply beyond Germany capabilities. Germany industry was no match for American industry; the US would have defeated Germany regardless of Russia. All of these degenerative conditions lead to excessive ecological spending, and Overshoot Day serves as a reminder that the global population needs to implement greener solutions before natural resources drop to dangerous levels.
GFN estimates that the current population demands the resources of 1.6 Earths.
The UN provided the first reliable statistics on the matter in 1961. Since then, humanity’s demand for resources has quickly exceeded the amount nature could provide, with the planet reaching global overshoot in the early 1970s.
In 2000, Earth Overshoot Day landed in October. It’s occurrence in August this year reflects the rapidly expanding demands placed on the planet’s natural resources.
The later the world acts on these changes, the harder they will be to reverse, according to Marco Lambertini, director general of the World Wide Fund for Nature International and Mathis Wackernagel, president of the GFN.
“Addressing resource constraints requires reshaping our use of resources like forests and energy, with profound effects on our infrastructure and lifestyles,” write Mr. Lambertini and Mr. Wackernagel.

Don’t worry, the Earth itself has a self-sustaining balancing system that will eliminate the overshoot. Unfortunately, it will bring a lot of suffering.
Define suffering. If overshoot causes a die-off due to starvation, then Mother Nature is beneficial to Earth and suffering is minimized. Humans dying starvation do not necessarily suffer. On the CNN Commander-in-Chief forum, the soldiers are grilling Obama. Based on the soldiers’ biases and prejudices and PC thinking, they are asking questions like these:
Why doesn’t Obama say the words “Islamic jihadists”? Why is Kaepernick allowed to take a knee and hurt the soldiers’ tender feelings? Why are mixed gender units allowed in combat?
Obama is patiently explaining to his troops why PC is not the way to go. My question is why does Obama continue to act responsibly as a president? Why does he subject himself to these insulting questions by ignorants soldiers? He should be out playing golf or at home enjoying his family. Obama has been a better Commander-in-Chief than the USA deserves. He has been far too dedicated to the troops, and only receives hatred for his efforts. Obama is a noble Christian soldier.

USA CONTINUES TO MURDER CIVILIANS IN AFGHANISTAN
Amid the latest ISIS resurgence along the Afghan-Pakistan border, US drones attacked the area in the eastern Nangarhar Province, killing at least 13 civilians and wounding 14 others, according to officials. The attack centered around a house that apparently belonged to a public health employee.
The Pentagon had previously announced a strike in Nangarhar, claiming 13 ISIS were killed. Afghan police dutifully reiterated this claim, saying 18 ISIS were killed in the attack. The Pentagon has since confirmed, however, that they are investigating reports of civilian deaths.
Afghan provincial officials have also said they are sending a commission to investigate the incident. This probe is likely to oblige the Pentagon to be at least a little transparent with their own.
This would mark the second bungled US airstrike in Afghanistan in a little over a week, after a previous incident in which US forces tried to “rescue” Afghan police on the ground by blowing up their checkpoint and killing eight of them.

There are any number of reasons that you might end up on the FBI or CIA’s watch list, but primary reasons include having a criminal record for terrorist-related activity; actually knowing or communicating with known terrorists or terrorist organizations; and of course the catch-all: “material support” for terrorism. According to the Center for Constitutional Rights the material support statute, otherwise known as 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2339B, creates a broad definition that includes any kind of support for blacklisted groups, encompassing humanitarian aid, medical training, expert advice, other services in just about any form, and of course, political advocacy.
It’s this political advocacy portion of the statute that places communication on social media sites, and search engines queries, namely Google, at the top of the list for creating these data-driven networks. Simply looking at a questionable web site, or tweeting something about Syria, Yemen, or anything to do with “radical” subjects, is reason enough for the government to give you a second look. With the powerful software developed by private corporations, it is now much easier to track your day-to-day life, both online and off.
While the civil rights and civil liberties issues here are important – due to near-indiscriminate surveillance of ordinary individuals based on generalized algorithm specifications – there’s another issue at work here: consolidation of power and control. What we’re seeing in the partnership between the feds and companies like Palantir is the nearly complete union of corporation and state. This sets a stage for increasing corruption and consolidation of power into fewer and fewer hands.

Do you remember a product called “Red’s Tamales” (Tuesday is Red’s Tamales day! was their advertisement)? It was a frozen tamale that was available in most grocery stores on the West Coast. The company was owned by the then mayor of Oakland, Mayor Redding. They had a plant on E 14th street at about the 100 block. The Panthers were then shaking down many business in Oakland, and threatening with violence those who would not pay. I spent several shifts sitting in the Red’s facility parking lot, guarding against the threats. Panthers were thugs, and I have first hand experience regarding this…information that you may not have read about in the Rolling Stone (My apologies to our host).

President Barack Obama has often said he’ll use the power of the pen to thwart a gridlocked Congress. On Thursday, he used it to advance one of his favorite agendas: paid sick days.
Making good on an earlier executive order, the Labor Department published a final rule Thursday that will guarantee at least some paid sick leave for workers employed under federal contracts. The rule is the latest in a string of new regulations aimed at improving working standards for those on the bottom rungs of the economy.
Under the rule, companies that have contracts with the federal government starting in 2017 must allow workers on those contracts to accrue up to seven sick days per year. Workers get one hour of paid leave for every 30 they work, capped at 56 hours annually. The workers must be notified each pay period of how much paid leave they have banked, and they must be allowed to roll their time over into a new year.
Workers can use that time to care for themselves or a loved one, not just in the event of physical sickness or injury, but also mental illness, domestic abuse and other situations.

Good News: Growth of Our Collective “Human Footprint” on Our Planet May Be Slowing Down
Humanity used up a year’s worth of the Earth’s resources in just seven months this year, calculate scientists at the Global Footprint Network. And, with the human population projected to hit 9.7 billion by 2050, that impact may only get worse.
But there’s hope, according to another group of scientists. Even as global populations continue to rise, the growth of our collective “human footprint” on our planet may be slowing down.
While the human population grew by 23 percent between 1993 and 2009, the overall amount of land impacted by human activity grew by just 9 percent during the same period, according to a study published Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications. This suggests that humans are becoming more efficient in our use of the Earth, and this may largely be due to urbanization.
The new study draws on satellite imagery, census records, and other data to examine just how much of the Earth’s land surface is experiencing pressure from human activity. The result is a set of maps revealing that 75 percent of our planet’s land is in some way feeling our species’ impact.
“Overall, things haven’t gotten better in the last two decades. Almost everywhere across the planet, the environment has degraded,” says study author Oscar Venter, a quantitative forest scientist at the University of Northern British Columbia, in an interview with The Christian Science Monitor. “But at the same time, if you look at it in terms of impacts per person, things have gotten better.”
The Global Footprint Network takes a darker view, calculating that we are consuming more of the Earth than ever, with Earth Overshoot Day falling the earliest it has since the organization began calculating it: August 8, this year. In seven months and one week, humans used all the resources that the planet generates in a year, they said.
So why are Venter and his colleagues still hopeful?
Because during the same 16-year period that the footprint grew by 9 percent, the global economy exploded 153 percent.
The researchers had expected the numbers to keep pace with each other, as economic growth is often linked to expanding infrastructure. But that wasn’t the case for all thriving nations.
While some countries’ footprints worsened as their economy strengthened, most did not. The secret: Strong governments and high rates of urbanization.
When a nation’s central government minimizes the environmental impact of growth, it pays off, Venter explains. In addition, “concentrating people into cities – what it effectively does is concentrate impacts.”
Cities allow people to share land and other infrastructure, thus relieving other regions of the population burden. People can ride public transportation, live in tall apartment buildings, walk the same streets, and share the same streetlights. With people concentrated in cities, Venter says, “We’re not spreading our infrastructure needs and our houses across the entire landscape, we’re sparing some for nature.”

a book just came out about Woodstock, NY, not the concert site but the town in the Catskills. It was a big creative music center back in the day. Bob Dylan, Todd Rundgren, Maria Muldauer, Levon Helm, Paul Butterfield, Janis Joplin, just to name a few, lived there. Many others like George Harrison and Elvis Costello recorded in Woodstock. What’s really interesting is that many of the houses they lived in had been the homes of prominent artists and writers from previous generations in the 19th and early 20th century.
Being a NY guy yourself, and Woodstock NY not being far from here, I was wondering if you ever worked out there with any of those musicians? If yes, you must have some interesting tales to tell.

I was originally from the faaaar other side of NY state, so I didn’t even know what a Woodstock was. Of course us scummy musician folk knew of the strange escape into the hollers of eastern NY of the famous and infamous when that was going on (I was also “in the area”). That said, there’s really not that much contact between working musicians aside from the professional studio sidemen. Yes, a lot of weird stories *anyway*, but nothing of much interest to persons who weren’t there at the time. Jay Johnson had quite a bit of opportunity to mingle in that rarified atmosphere due to his amazing talent, so he has many tales to tell, I’m sure.

I would institute a Progressive Tax Plan for Corporations with the Too-Big-To-Fail Corporations paying extremely high rates. Soon enough, there would no longer be any Too-Big-To-Fail Corporations and that’s a Good Thing, as Martha is fond of saying. Smaller, more regionalized and localized Corporations would manifest and prosper because they wouldn’t have to incur an onerous Tax Burden. This is not Rocket Science. The Sycophantic Experts who serve the Psychopathic Elite know this, and that’s why they’re the Experts — because they’ll never say it or think it in Broad Daylight, and instead they’ll spout lies and falsehoods in order to help maintain the status quo for as long as possible.
I am a proponent of Free Enterprise, not Capitalism. Competition is constructive, so long as it’s managed and kept in check and balanced with collaboration & cooperation for the greater good. Large, Too-Big-To-Fail Corporations are anti-competitive and contrary to Free Enterprise since they create organic and artificial barriers to entry and are monopolistic by their very nature.
Since, as POTUS, the government would be reduced significantly in size and scope, including & especially the Military, the tax revenue needed to sustain it would be greatly reduced and the majority of that burden, at least initially until there were no longer any Too-Big-To-Fail Corporations, would be funded by those behemoths.
Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations Firms and any News organizations would be taxed at 100%. News should not be in the business of making a profit. It should be in the business of properly informing the Polity. Advertisers, Marketers and Public Relations Firms, as well as law firms, are Evil and therefore must pass into history as a blight upon Humanity — a mistake we will not make again. As POTUS, I would set the wheels in motion to greatly simplify the legal & justice system to make it more fair, equitable and accountable. The days of millionaire lawyers will be over. What surprises me more than anything is the mood of the electorate this time around. It’s not like it used to be. I remember when Howard Dean wrecked his candidacy by yelping during his speech. That was enough to turn people against him. Contrast that with the behavior of Trump. It seems that he can say anything and get away with it. Seems to me that people have gotten so sick of politics the way it is going, that they welcome anyone who says he is against the status quo as it is currently practiced in Washington. Slavery is an evil, but not the ultimate evil. Confronting/experiencing evil does not absolve or justify failure, neither does a sense of victimization, earned or otherwise.
America has provided, in its history, many “reasons” for Jews to fail…yet they didn’t. Japanese were persecuted in the 40’s…”the little yellow devils” were certainly easy to spot in a crowd and were denied their liberty in camps…victims, indeed, yet they prospered.
Many blacks invest themselves in a very corrosive culture, one bereft of what you in Canada might call “civility”. Hatred of whites, (seen as their oppressors), a massive sense of victimization that is taught on their mother’s knee, dysfunctional families (70%+ out of wedlock births), education not necessarily accepted as a need for advancement and assimilation….

UN Says ‘Racial Terrorism’ Against Black People in the US Endures, Calls for Reparations

“There has been no real commitment to reparations and to truth and reconciliation for people of African descent.”
United Nations working group of experts has said recent killings of Black people by police officers are reminiscent of 19th and 20th century lynchings, months after a visit to the United States, in which they called for the distribution of reparations.
“Contemporary police killings and the trauma that they create are reminiscent of the past racial terror of lynching,” said the report by the U.N. Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent.
Police killings of Black people has become a major talking point in American society over the last couple years, after coverage of multiple high profile cases. This year alone, 195 Black people were killed by police at a rate of 4.88 kills per million people. That makes a Black person more than twice as likely to be killed by police than a white or Hispanic/Latino person and only just behind a Native American.
And as my colleague Alan Pyke pointed out last week, Black people are often regularly left to die?—?even after police officers disarm the wounded citizen (or discover there was no weapon at all).
In just the last month, three high profile police killings ended the lives of Terence Crutcher, 40, Keith Scott, 43, Tyre King, 13, among [with] more than a dozen others. Scott’s killing led to massive protests in Charlotte, North Carolina led by residents fed up with law enforcement’s lack of accountability and racist policing practices.
The U.N. working group said these were problems intrinsically linked to U.S. history.
“In particular, the legacy of colonial history, enslavement, racial subordination and segregation, racial terrorism and racial inequality in the United States remains a serious challenge, as there has been no real commitment to reparations and to truth and reconciliation for people of African descent,” the working group said in a statement from a trip to the United States in January. “Impunity for State violence has resulted in the current human rights crisis and must be addressed as a matter of urgency.”
But with a history so steeped in racial violence, the group said it would take much more than recognizing the effect of state violence. The group railed against the country’s treatment of people of African descent, said that white supremacy is still present in the American population, and called for reparations to be issued to members of the Black community.
“Despite substantial changes since the end of the enforcement of Jim Crow and the fight for civil rights, ideology ensuring the domination of one group over another, continues to negatively impact the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of African Americans today.”

So, what does the law of a possible recovery of the 911 damages using sovereign assets of Saudi Arabia really means?

The real meaning of the law – is the actual freezing of US government debt with a possible restructuring of it on conditions of the United States. For the Saudis, who are drawn into two wars and increased social spending on the background of the elite division and threats of the palace coup, the prospect to be left without payments on a huge debt as a hammer and sickle on their family jewels.
Adoption of the law is forcing Saudis to begin negotiating the terms of surrender to the mercy of the principal debtor of the planet. Other assets and payments on them at any moment could be arrested or frozen on claims of relatives of victims of the 9/11 for an indefinite period.
But if you go toward the White House, then any payment of interest or repayment of the bonds by the Fed are possible. And if you do not go forward, it will frozen for the whole duration of potentially very lengthy US legal process.

Last week, twice, when I got in and started the car, my windshield wipers were on, and not just the lowest setting — it was on the low setting, not intermittent. I was the last one to drive the car and it was parked in a closed garage that is locked. It was no training the day before when I drove the car in the garage and I have never, and I mean NEVER left the windshield wipers on in my life. I spoke with my family , and no one touched the wipers.
