M any thoughtful and patriotic citizens entering the Kubler-Ross free-fire zone of desperate bargaining with reality are at work attempting to chart an orderly course around the Godzilla-like figure of Trump looming outside the desecrated once-shining city of American democracy. I doubt there is such an orderly way through this political bad weather. When storms hit, things break up.

It can be argued endlessly whether times produce the man or vice versa, but except in the most schematic and wishful sense, is there any question that Donald Trump is unfit for the office he’s seeking? Personally, I am tortured by the question: why him? Why this vulgarian who can’t string together two sequentially coherent thoughts? Are there in this land of 320 million-plus people no other men or women with comfortable fortunes and better minds bold enough to take on the matrix of mafias running our affairs into the ground? Apparently not.

Then there is the question — only nascently theoretical at this point — of where such an orderly course of decision and action might lead this country. For Trump, it seems to be a restoration of the 1950s, when armies of “breadwinner” factory workers churned out cornucopias of Maytag washers and Zenith black-and-white televisions, and the less numerous Wogs of the outside world busied themselves with basket-weaving, and Atoms For Peace would make electric power “too cheap to meter,” and popular entertainment came in the chaste form of Dinah Shore urging the upward-aspiring masses to “see the USA in your Chevrolet!”

That was, of course, the time of Trump’s childhood (and my own), and if there is anything more certain than night following day, it is that America is not going back to that sunny moment. Trump and I are way past done growing up as human organisms and America is done growing as a techno-industrial political economy. People decline and die and are replaced by new people, and political economies wither and morph into sets of new activities and relations.

The forces of history want to take us to this new disposition of things, and just about everything on the American scene these days is a manifestation of resistance to that journey. The destination is a much re-scaled and down-scaled edition of daily life in a de-globalized economy, with far fewer luxuries and a greater demand for earnestness, purposeful work, generosity-of-spirit, and plain dealing. These are not qualities exhibited by Trump, who represents only the poorly-articulated and grandiose wish to “make America great again.”

The institutional collapse of the Republican Party is in full swing now thanks to Trump. By the way, it could easily be matched by an equally brutal collapse of the Democratic Party if the head of the FBI makes any criminal referrals in the matter of the Clinton Foundation’s entanglements in official State Department business via an email slime trail. It would be an awesome and wondrous event if the nation landed on November 8 with both parties in complete disarray and more than a couple of rump factions posting candidates with dubious legitimate credentials to stand for election. In over two hundred years we have not seen a national election postponed, or canceled.

I’ll repeat my assertion that professional observers on the political scene appear oblivious to the financial shit-storm gathering out-of-sight of land, and how it might affect electoral events at landfall. There’s a fair chance that six months from now, the USA may be in some kind economic emergency, with the banks either disabled or shuttered, and businesses unable to transact with one another, and the just-in-time supply lines to America’s Big Box merchandise depots badly interrupted, with the shelves bare. Americans at large, lost in the their cell phone app raptures and Kardashian masturbation fantasies have no idea how fragile the systems they depend on are.

America is going to learn something about the uses of disorder before this year is out. One of these is to compel the construction of a coherent consensus as to what is actually happening in the world, apart from our wishes and fantasies. That is, if we are not torn apart in the process of getting to that.

“Personally, I am tortured by the question: why him? Why this vulgarian who can’t string together two sequentially coherent thoughts?”

I understand why you didn’t attach the usual “short-fingered” before vulgarian. The last person to do that was Marco Rubio, who found out that there was nothing deficient about either Trump’s hands or the other part that is usually associated with their size. Rubio got his ass handed to him as a result. Poor, “Little Marco,” all those endorsements couldn’t save him.

“Are there in this land of 320 million-plus people no other men or women with comfortable fortunes and better minds bold enough to take on the matrix of mafias running our affairs into the ground? Apparently not.”

I’ll let the other Bernie supporters dispute that on his behalf on the Democratic side. On the Republican side, the answer is indeed “apparently not.” Instead, we have the Trumpenstein Munster taking on the system. It makes for great comedy. Too bad the stakes are so high.

Another great blog post, Jim. You never disappoint.

The most important issue facing Man and the planet, if the alarmist rhetoric is true, is Anthropogenic Climate Change. I’ve prepared a blog post that shows, unequivocally, why………

      Trump’s Great On Climate Change

      • monkey_flower March 21, 2016 at 11:27 pm #

That climate change hoax is garbage. Suppose it is true. What is to be done ? The obvious answer is to enable systems of agriculture to exist in the future under a severely altered climate. That means saving desert and tropical-adapted plants which might be useful in the future. Palm trees for example. Hundreds of species of palms are critically endangered. Who is trying to save them ? Mostly just a handful of white people who get very little funding.

The government of Egypt may be the only exception. I heard they were concerned about the Medemia Argun palm tree. Only rediscovered in 1995, it was thought to be extinct. It was cultivated in ancient Egypt. Pharaohs snacked on them. Now hundreds of seedlings are growing in Egypt. A rare success story.

The point I am trying to make is that there is plenty of work to do. And some people are actually doing that work.

        • basil March 22, 2016 at 8:02 am #

the science confirming anthropogenic climate change is very clear and almost universally accepted among experts in fields related to climate science. it is real. there are puny attempts to combat the effects of climate change, like trying to save palm trees, but the substantial measures needed to reduce damage are simply not being utilized.

          • Cold N. Holefield March 22, 2016 at 9:30 am #

Which means Al Gore won’t sell his mansion and move to a one bedroom efficiency apartment and use public transportation the rest of his life.

Do as they do, not as they say. The fact they don’t do as they say means they don’t believe what they say.

I’ll take Anthropogenic Climate Change seriously when they do — which will be never.

          • Layne March 22, 2016 at 4:13 pm #

Climate change has been real for the last 6000 years at least, and now we are cycling back to warmer weather again, just as we have reversed to colder weather many times too. There is quite a lot of controversy as to whether human activity is a contributing factor. Perhaps a very little, but not nearly enough to give Bernie a free pass on wetting his pants all the time.

Trump is the man. After he gets through kicking ass we will enter into a new golden age lasting at least a decade, just like 1930s Germany.

        • Janos Skorenzy March 22, 2016 at 9:33 pm #

Well said. Whites are the only ones who care about ecosystem and the different species. And we are an endangered species now ourselves.

      • nwcodetalker March 22, 2016 at 9:24 am #

“As you know, an overwhelming majority of climate scientists”

        actually I don’t know….

        http://oss.sagepub.com/content/33/11/1477.full

“First is a peer-reviewed paper showing that only 36% of 1,077 geo-scientists and engineers surveyed believe in the man-made global warming crisis as defined by the United Nations’ Kyoto model.

According to the paper, the Kyoto position expresses “the strong belief that climate change is happening, that it is not a normal cycle of nature, and humans are the main or central cause.”

Thirty-six percent is not insignificant. But it certainly is a long way from the oft-cited 97% “consensus” among scientists that man is causing temperatures to change.”

        • sallycant March 22, 2016 at 11:09 am #

Silly rabbit, that’s a survey of largely industry engineers and geoloscientists in Alberta, beloved home of the tar sands. The response/solicitation rate was ~10%. To quote the author: “… we reconstruct the frames of one group of experts who have not received much attention in previous research and yet play a central role in understanding industry responses – professional experts in petroleum and related industries.”

          • sallycant March 22, 2016 at 11:10 am #

            I meant “geoscientists”…

          • basil March 22, 2016 at 1:00 pm #

thank you, sallycant, for debunking yet another of many attempts to discredit the decades of research dedicated to finding the truth (one way or the other) about anthropogenic climate change. exxon itself has been one of the premier contributors to this research, and concluded long ago that fossil fuels are rapidly warming our climate.

        • Sean Coleman March 22, 2016 at 4:50 pm #

You are right to be sceptical of AGW. It is a mass delusion. I am interested in the psychology of the true believers, how they feel compelled to defend it, overlook the blatant dishonesty of its so many of their leaders, dismiss those who won’t agree as ‘deniers’, close down debate because ‘the science is settled’ and how they seem so unaware that it is part of a wider politically correct world view. For anyone who is just starting to examine it I would recommend first of all looking hard at the ISPCC.

    • Janos Skorenzy March 21, 2016 at 1:57 pm #

Well even you must admit that Bernie’s, “Whites don’t know what it’s like to be poor” is a gaff for the ages. The Elitist mentality behind that statement is exactly what’s wrong with America.

      • George March 22, 2016 at 10:34 am #

“I’ll repeat my assertion that professional observers on the political scene appear oblivious to the financial shit-storm gathering out-of-sight of land, and how it might affect electoral events at landfall.”

As James repeatedly reminds us: “Events, not people, are in control.”

Indeed, trends proximate to events, not people, slogans or philosophies, are firmly in control. The popularity of candidates Trump and Sanders is indicative of that. As James notes, the party establishments are clearly ignorant of what’s driving this popularity and therefore left to react in ways that serve only to rearrange deck chairs on sinking ships: no more than the cosmetic makeovers made possible by extensively choreographing conventions or arbitrarily changing rules on the fly. What most fail to see is that this popularity serves as a warning that things are breaking up. At the moment things aren’t working for a growing minority. In the not too distant future that minority could quickly swell to be the majority.

What trends may be leading up to could analogously be likened to what it would be like to be on board the ISS where it to renter earth’s atmosphere.

As a rule, the four horsemen always ride together.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
        Couldn’t put Humpty together again.

    • SteveO March 21, 2016 at 2:41 pm #

Actually, as GOP clown car refugees go, Kasich is almost sane. He’s not up there saying that God chose him to be president, and he doesn’t parrot the Republican orthodoxy and he doesn’t have people beaten up at his rallies. I have family in Ohio, some of whom are life long Democrats, who consider him to be a decent governor.

      • djc March 21, 2016 at 5:00 pm #

Native Ohioan here and even though I lean considerably right my mostly left-leaning friends certainly don’t hate Kasich and some actually like him.

The only fault I have w/Kasich is he’s too corporate for me.However the former Lehman Brothers executive does do what he says he’s going to do and he’s extremely honest.

        djc

        • “He’s not up there saying that God chose him to be president”

True, but who is going to be surprised if and when that happens, he says that it was God’s Will? The fact of the matter is that politics is a game of give and take. You want illegal immigration to end? Then you have to force Jesus Freaks to bake wedding cakes and force Anti-choice sanctuary states to lay off the Abortion clinics.

The only way Trump stays interesting as a candidate is to the degree that he can force Hillary to make concessions on major issues. And vice versa.

As these sleazeballs slide around their positions, Bernie is gathering an army who has pledged to vote for Bernie and only Bernie. The Establishment is orchestrating a coup by committee.

I think we will have a four way race for the White house by June and it will go the distance.

      • wolfbay March 28, 2016 at 7:44 am #

Yes until he talks about foreign policy. He even out “neocons” Hillary. Like Hillary and Obama he hasn’t seen a bombing run he didn’t like and wants even more troops in the Middle East. The Elites call Trump a Racist and want to destroy him but maybe what they’re most concerned about is his opposition to trade agreements and his questioning our imperial overreach . Maybe it is not in our national interest to have 1000 bases overseas with our troops everywhere and maybe in the near future we won’t be able to borrow and print enough to maintain the empire anyway.
Both Trump and Sanders have questioned the role of Multinational corporations and the military industrial complex in America and they will be crushed.

    • ffkling March 21, 2016 at 5:41 pm #

On the Republican side Trump is the only viable alternative. At least he is not bought and paid for by the likes of Sheldon Adelson. I admire the middle finger he offers to the Republican royalty and media talking heads. The more these groups object, the greater his popularity.

      • Linda March 21, 2016 at 9:57 pm #

I agree ffkling. I’m personally supporting Trump, and I’m a lifelong Democrat. Feels somewhat odd to be on the same side, so to speak, as Janos.

        • Janos Skorenzy March 22, 2016 at 9:39 pm #

I am a reluctant hater, to quote Greg Johnson. But sometimes there is no other response. Love will just get us slaughtered all the faster. The incomers are immensely hard compared to us – and one hundred percent for their people.

          We are the Indians now.

    • bobinboiseid March 22, 2016 at 10:24 am #

Trump is terrifying the Elite so much that the Establishment Cabal in both parties would rather see Hillaery in office, than risk a president Trump beholden to no special interests. They are so desperate that they are attacking him 24/7 with their media stooges. Here’s the latest offering. Imagine the outrage if another candidates wife was shown nude in an attack ad.

  2. DrTomSchmidt March 21, 2016 at 10:01 am #

is there any question that Donald Trump is unfit for the office he’s seeking?

Could he do any worse than Thomas Woodrow Wilson? He found America without an income tax, Federal Reserve, relatively free of government intrusion, and with a Senate controlled by individual states, not a me-too House of Representatives. After he left office, we had Prohibition, an FBI, suppression of black political and economic rights. As a direct result of his declaring war on Germany, the Germans put Lenin on a sealed train to leash the Bolshevik virus on Russia and remove the second front in a Europeanwar where we had no dog in the fight. Oh, but Wilson was “fit,” having governed a state and run a University.

Trump will be constrained by Congress which will not roll over for him like the Democratic Majorities did for Wilson, who ran in 1916 with the slogan “he kept us out of war.” Truthfully: would you vote for Wilson over Trump?

    • sprawlcapital March 21, 2016 at 12:11 pm #

The US entry into World War I was a foreign policy blunder of the same or greater magnitude as our intervention In Viet Nam and our 2003 invasion of Iraq.

As the result of our sending a million troops to Europe, Germany’s humiliating defeat in WWI set the stage for WWII, which brought us–among other things–the nuclear arms race.

And Woodrow Wilson was incapacitated by a stroke during the final portion of his reign; think how much more damage he could have done as a healthy unqualified president.
      ==================
      . . . leash the Bolshevik . . .
      Shouldn’t that be “unleash”?

      • Pogo March 21, 2016 at 3:39 pm #

It was unavoidable. Wilson was a wennie and we only got into the war after Germany declared unrestricted submarine warfare. It would only be a matter of time before some US merchants ships were sunk. If a nation lets other countries sink its ships without response then its days are numbered. We have a similar problem in the South China Sea today.

The German Foreign Minister, Zimmerman, wanted to draw Mexico and Japan into the war aganist the US and sent a message to the President of Mexico. The Brits intercepted the message and were able to decrypt it:

The decoded telegram is as follows:

“We intend to begin on the first of February unrestricted submarine warfare. We shall endeavor in spite of this to keep the United States of America neutral. In the event of this not succeeding, we make Mexico a proposal of alliance on the following basis: make war together, make peace together, generous financial support and an understanding on our part that Mexico is to reconquer the lost territory in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. The settlement in detail is left to you. You will inform the President of the above most secretly as soon as the outbreak of war with the United States of America is certain and add the suggestion that he should, on his own initiative, invite Japan to immediate adherence and at the same time mediate between Japan and ourselves. Please call the President’s attention to the fact that the ruthless employment of our submarines now offers the prospect of compelling England in a few months to make peace.” Signed, ZIMMERMANN

Only after this was Wilson made to realize the dangers facing us and was finally forced to commit to sending US Army troops.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zimmermann_Telegram

        • sprawlcapital March 24, 2016 at 9:49 pm #

Thanks for posting the Zimmerman telegram Pogo. I now remember reading about it elsewhere.

The fact remains that the crushing defeat of Germany led to the Second World War.

Will the 21st Century be even worse than the 20th? It’s starting out that way.

        • Janos Skorenzy March 26, 2016 at 3:10 pm #

Yes, the German government knew that the United States was passing munitions to Great Britain by commercial and passenger ships. It took out ads in major American papers warning people not to take the Lusitania. The ads weren’t run except for one. And the ship was steered into the heart of the wolf pack. The people behind Wilson knew what would happen.

Most of our wars have been instigated by such Bankster ploys.

    • seawolf77 March 21, 2016 at 1:50 pm #

Teddy and Woody were the worst 1-2 gut punch the country ever experienced. Some 60 years later they did again, JFK is assassinated and we get LBJ and Tricky Dick. It’s how it’s done.

    • Janos Skorenzy March 21, 2016 at 2:04 pm #

Yes, well spoken and groomed men in well fitting suits are destroying our Civilization. They are white washed tombs, immaculate outwardly but inwardly festering with every kind of rot and corruption.

We obviously need a complete change. Every attempt to reform them has lead to indifference and scorn. Every large institution, including Labor and the Church, has betrayed us in favor of the coming Globalist state. Thus a Leader has arisen to do what the System could not. We need to support him – its our last chance.

      • seawolf77 March 21, 2016 at 3:06 pm #

I was hoping at least you would point out the analogy between Taft, Wilson, and Roosevelt with Nixon, Humphrey and Wallace, especially with all the talk of a third party run if the Republicans do their threatened shenanigans at the convention. Another interesting point is that George Wallace was the last third party candidate to win any electoral votes. He won 5 states. Again, is that how it’s done?

        • Janos Skorenzy March 21, 2016 at 7:14 pm #

If Trump has the candidacy stolen from him at the Convention, the best think he could do for America would be to start a 3rd Party. Probably wouldn’t win because Americans are very rigid about brand loyalty, but it may lay seeds for the future. Or it might not. Trump might be just a flash in the pan with no one else able to do what he is doing.

          • swmnguy March 21, 2016 at 9:07 pm #

Janos: I think Trump is somewhat unique in his celebrity status. Everybody already knows who he is and has an opinion about him; especially people who don’t typically vote or pay attention to the candidates much beforehand.

He also, hands down, has the best intuitive understanding of the media of any candidate I’ve ever seen. Each President of my life (when I was born LBJ was President) has been better media than either his predecessor or whomever he was running against. Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Clinton and Obama; each better media than their predecessor and their opponent; the Bushes just better than their opponents.

          • bobinboiseid March 22, 2016 at 12:01 pm #

It’s Trump Vs Hillery now. The Clinton crime syndicate Vs the successful businessman. I’ll take Trump, beholden to none, over the Clinton Special Interest criminals any day.

No, shotho. Lincoln was. The South had every right to secede and Lincoln should have let them. We’d be much better off today if the US had been split up. Slavery was not the reason for the War – Lincoln said so himself.

    • Linda March 21, 2016 at 9:59 pm #

Great points, DrTom. We are at a place that an ordinary politician will not do the right thing. Trump may not do everything he says he will, but if he tackles those horrific trade treaties, that will be in the country’s favor.

“Personally, I am tortured by the question: why him? Why this vulgarian who can’t string together two sequentially coherent thoughts?”

Funny, the same quote jumped out at me. We had eight years of another republican who could be described similarly: W. Although it can be argued he wasn’t a vulgarian. More like one of the 3 Stooges.

Unlike the republicans, the dems have a reasonable, fit for the presidency alternative to the current front runner. Yes, that would be Bernie.

    • Janos Skorenzy March 21, 2016 at 2:07 pm #

Bernie, “Whites don’t know what it’s like to be poor”? Seems like we’re in for more minority pandering, and more ignoring of White needs – as if we haven’t had enough of that.

Treat Blacks like other people and maybe they’ll act like other people. Why don’t we close the border and stop favoring Hispanics over both Blacks and Whites?

      • S M Tenneshaw March 21, 2016 at 4:19 pm #

OMG, we agree!. Wha’ hoppen? Are there two of you?

        • Janos Skorenzy March 21, 2016 at 7:17 pm #

Yes, in fact – I am of two minds. Obviously I’d like to live only with my own people in our own State. Healthy people desire nothing less. But since I find myself living in a stew, I seek harmony. Obviously all groups need to have equal rights in the multicultural state for as long as it lasts – even Whites.

          • Linda March 21, 2016 at 10:02 pm #

The whole World is in transition from previous form of Globalization.

The December UN Security Council Resolution 2253 and 2254 constitute the core of a new global counter-terrorism center.

Subsequent events, including the joint statement of Putin and Obama for reconciliation in Syria and the beginning of the withdrawal of Russian SAF from Syria, the beginning of the coordination of the Russian Federation with OPEC, the Pope meeting with Orthodox Patriarch, the US Congress resolution on genocide of Christians, Cameron unexpectedly announcing that the UK is a Christian country – are the sure signs of reorientation of the global elites to a new kernel, and the new political rails.

Apparently, Mr.Trump is the only political figure in US who is catching the train of changes effortlessly.

But in general, I am personally very optimistic.

Apparently, Mr.Trump is the only political figure in US who is catching the train of changes effortlessly.

Funny how so many fail to see this obvious sea change that Mr. Trump is spearheading in the US and A.

Idiotic and suicidal leftist policies have once again run their course to the insanity seen in Europe and to a lesser extent in the US.

Now, the pendelum has swung to the opposite side, and folks will revert to nationalist, patriotic values.

In other words, common sense is making a comeback for a generation or two.
    ===================================================
re Zika and the Brazil political crisis:

Zika will not stop the Olympics at all, a concerted effort is being made to eradicate the sources of the disease here in Brazil (despite stupid Brazilians’ best efforts to proliferate it by throwing water-collecting trash everywhere, which subsequently becomes a breeding ground for the mosquito).

Vaccines are closing in as well. It’s Ebola hypeola.

The political crisis – the current and former presidents conspiring to keep themselves from being arrested for corruption – has very much upped the likelihood of a vote for impeachment for the current president, and boosted chances the former will end up in jail.

Nota bene, impeachment in Brazil results in the officeholder being removed for 6 months with the threat of further sanctions, plus new elections either by the plebes or the congress, depending on how much of the president’s term has been served.

This is distinctly unlike in the US, where impeachment of the president has no effect beyond serving as a moral rebuke, afaik.

The lying CNN keeps expecting the endorsement of Hillary Clinton by President Obama. It is not going to happen. No wonder – the founder of CNN – Ted Turner – is the chief architect of anti-Christian Clintonialism in US and around the world.

Most likely scenario at this point is that the most of Democratic “Super Delegates” are switching their allegiance and voting for Bernie Sanders, thus sparing the Democratic party and the US an embarrassment of either putting H. Clinton into electric chair or announcing the results of the Democratic Primaries so far a complete fraud.

I am tortured by the question: why him?

Simply a matter of someone trying to get by with something. He had nothing to loose and he had the audacity to go for it as people with copious audacity and little restraint will do. It is a mindset no different than that of a vandal with a spray can of fluorescent paint about to tag a building that does not belong to him and there are places where buildings have been covered with tags. Trump is certainly not exceptional. The question is not really why him; change Trump’s clothes and shave is head and he’d be just another Joe Six Pack.

The better question is why did nobody stop him but sadly the answer to that is also not hard to understand. There are no other choices who even pretend at this point to have the public interest at heart other than Bernie and he sadly won’t be long for the race because the ‘S’ word will do him in. With no choices who are motivated than anything but raw self interest the thought comes to mind that maybe Trump is the one who will do the least amount of damage to the country in the next four years.

Trump has been around a while and before now his move would have been laughed down. To be successful at being audacious one must develop good sense of timing to know when one’s shit may fly and not be blown back on the wind at one’s face. Trump has that timing.

The times did not produce this man. This man simply is taking advantage of a time when reasonable choices are nowhere to be found.

        And since:

what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

You are obviously not alone in your opinion of Bernie for if that were not true we would not fear the Trump as he slouches towards Washington to be born.

But about that we must transcend our fear. Perhaps something borrowed from Blue Oyster Cult can help.

Came the last night of sadness (inauguration eve)
And it was clear we couldn’t go on (globalization is no longer fun)
Then the door was open and the wind appeared (trump made his move)
The candles blew and then disappeared ( nobody cared to move them out of the breeze sloth was upon the land)
The curtains flew and then he appeared (Trump in his glory)
        (Saying, “Don’t be afraid”)

Come on baby (And we had no fear)
And we ran to him (And we started to fly)
We looked backward and said goodbye ( Because times will never be the same)
We will become like they are
We will have taken his hand (We will become like they are Romeo and Juliet)
Come on baby (Don’t fear the reaper)

With Trump we become like Romeo and Juliet; dead.

  9. Walter B March 21, 2016 at 11:14 am #

The idea that Donald Trump is unfit for the office of President of the Once United States is probably more of a qualification rather than a disqualification Jim. Barack Obama was and is supremely unqualified to serve in the capacity that he has for the last 7 plus years and that did not stop him now did it? Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, both Bushes and Jerry Ford were all unfit to serve yet there they did it anyway. Lyndon Johnson and Dick Nixon may have passed a qualifying test, yet failed the moral quiz. Ronald Regan sure acted the part well, but then he was a professionally actor now wasn’t he? And if you take a hard look at the candidates that ran against any of these “winners” you will find that they all too, were in fact unfit to serve as well.

The fact is that once the last man capable and fit enough to actually be called the President of the United States, he was gunned down on national television by the real system of government that rules over America. The message delivered by that act of evil was taken to heart by all future seekers of that high office – “any person that is FIT for this position shall be subjected to the same fate so stay away or die”. The corruption was completed on 22 Nov 63 and the collapse started that same dark day. There will be no other alternate ending, embrace it.

I swear, I will never understand the cult of the Kennedys.

JFK was one of the worst presidents ever. He owed everything to his bootlegger dad greasing his path. He managed to park his speedy, agile PT boat in front of an enemy destroyer — kinda like getting your Cigarette racing boat run over by a cruise ship. MacArthur wanted him courtmartialed and the country would have been better off if he had been. He supported the Bay of Pigs until he decided not to, pulling the rug out from under people who trusted him and depended on him. Having provoked Cuba, he decided to object to the Russians backing them and was willing to risk WWIII because of it. (C’mon, if Mutually Assured Destruction was enough to keep Russian missiles in their silos, did we really really have to worry about Cuba? Remember, we already HAD missiles next door to Russia in Turkey. You didn’t see Khrushchev fingering the red button over that.)

And besides the major, major policy blunders, there’s the incessant marital cheating, the rigged Chicago election, working with the Mafia, on and on and on. There’s no Kennedy “family curse,” they were all simply idiots, constantly in over their heads. Brother Joe pulls rank to pilot a flying bomb and blows himself up instead. Teddy can’t handle his liquor, drowns Mary Jo in his car and tries to lie his way out of it. Michael plays football on skis and brains himself on a tree. John-John flies his plane into the ocean.

Why in the world do presumably intelligent people think these morons are royalty?

      • Walter B March 21, 2016 at 7:01 pm #

Your ability to read and understand is clearly as compromised as your inability to speak intelligently in reply. Your childish assault on my right to hold an opinion is all too prevalent today from you Progressive types that do not allow for opinions other than yours to be voiced. Your idiotic attack on the Kennedy Clan (of whom I am no fan BTW) is further evidence that your public school education created another simpleton released upon the public.

Those of us who served this Once Great Nation through military service have a respect for our leaders who USED TO do the same, not like the cowards and shirkers of today. Having a Commander in Chief who was once a soldier himself made for a class of individual that had at least a small understanding of how to command a nation as a leader. It is apparent that you are not one or you would not have the cowardice to refer to Commander Kennedy’s PT boat experience with the distain of a coward and a shirker yourself.

I was alive and well cognizant when JFK served this nation, I doubt that you were. You appear, at least on the surface to be a snotty punk with a bad education and an even worse attitude. I was hoping not to run into any of your kind here at this quality site, but I suppose it had to happen eventually. Perhaps you should consider changing you handle to Whoopdy-Douche.

        • shotho March 21, 2016 at 8:19 pm #

Well, I don’t know about all the name-calling, but I agree that obviously someone wanted JFK to die and I doubt it was one man high in an office building. LBJ was much more sympathetic to the power elites of his day. Many generalships and fortunes were mad off of LBJ’s guns and butter without new taxes. I don’t think there has been a more patriotic president since Kennedy and one more attuned to its needs.

          • Walter B March 21, 2016 at 9:32 pm #

And my apologies for sinking down to that level, but being at least partially human, I sometimes am pressed to the point of anger. Having defended the rights of Americans to speak freely and being in a position where I still perform that duty, I find it grossly offensive when a person’s ability to hold an opinion is so compromised by childish drivel. Thank you for your thoughtful response. Having been schooled by the Untied States government itself in the finest curriculum of leadership available at the time, I am at a great loss today when I see the total lack of leadership in all of those who claim that responsibility. Our host’s choice of words this week of Disorder says it all, which I suppose is why he draws us all here every week in the first place. Thanks James.

          Great reply, Walter.

        • Petro March 22, 2016 at 8:21 am #

I’d posted a short response to Walter’s original remark early yesterday, but it disappeared within an hour. It appears there were other problems with this site, so maybe it was accidental.

Mainly, it was a question about what Walter’s definition of “capable and fit” to be president was, exactly. By his response above to Whoopdy-do, which I find an offensive and off-the-mark ad hominem attack against a reasonably argued point of view (exactly the “childish drivel” he accuses Whoopdy-do of)*, it seems the answer to my question is, mainly, having had military service.

Is this correct, or is there more? Can you come up with a list of things as comprehensive as Whoopdy-do’s to support your own position on JFK? Have you read any biography of the JFK which isn’t hagiography? How about Seymour Hersh’s “The Dark Side of Camelot?”).

*You apologized for your intemperate response, then ridiculously go on to call Whoopy-do—a person I presume you’ve never met—a “snotty punk,” “coward,” “shirker,” and a “douche.” Seriously, Walter, what on Earth is wrong? Why are you focusing such rage on this faceless individual? My advice is to spend it on other, much more deserving targets.

          • Walter B March 22, 2016 at 11:58 pm #

I am sorry if I offended you, I did not realize that you were out there and were so sensitive. I shall concentrate on using happier, more positive responses in the future so that this does not happen again and I won’t even try to say that I was offended because apparently, I am not allowed to be offended am I?

        • Whoopdy-Do March 22, 2016 at 1:37 pm #

          Jesus, Walter.

Rather than address the topic, you launch into a tirade of playground name calling. Then you tell everyone how it’s your “duty” defend our right to speak freely. Do you even hear yourself?

And further down in the thread I see you’re an elected official!?!

That, right there, is what’s wrong with this country.

          • Walter B March 23, 2016 at 1:10 am #

Why is it that I never run into people like you in person where you can be dealt with properly, only here in Cyberspace where the tippy tap back and forths are the best we can do? Oh well, I will give it my best effort anyway.

First of all, is not my personal opinion of JFK something I am entitled to? Were you even born yet when he was president? Did you not infer that I was some kind of Kennedy worshipper because I have very little regard for the clan myself, I was only talking about JFK was I not? You were the one who decided to bash the whole family which is certainly your right, but completely off topic, no? It sounds from your response that you have neither served your country in the military or in public service, is this correct? As far as elected officials having feelings and getting angry – you say that is the problem but you are most misguided my friend because the problem is that our elected officials do not in fact get angry because they simply do not care! They are raking in millions and that is ALL they care about and THAT is the problem with our system.

I do not really know why I asked you so many questions because people like you never answers them, they take the Barack Obama approach and fail to answer, just redirect with another attack. Yes I know I should just STFU and go away, it is the typical Progressive requirement, sorry.

      • toktomi March 21, 2016 at 10:48 pm #

        Maybe.

However, that JFK was assassinated for his efforts to challenge the global elites is enough cred to wash clean all of his sins, something so special that not one of the pretenders since him could dare even to dream, save perhaps, for that little weasel Dick who probably simply became delusional.

        ~toktomi~

        • Walter B March 22, 2016 at 12:08 am #

Well spoken my friend. While his father’s sins were many (Sins of the Father – a good read about it BTW) JFK’s were those that damn near all of we men make during the course of our lifetimes and if these bar us from salvation then Heaven most surely is comprised of none of us. Your kind words bring a smile to me (who campaigned for Tricky Dick I must admit, but I was young) and comfort as well, for though we did not care to elect him, we quickly grew to love him. Things were very, very different back then. I was lucky to have been there.

I can’t see an economic collapse so long as fossil fuels are abundant and cheap.

I think it’s an inconvenient truth for Kunstler that the calamities he correctly forecasts are not coming in 6 months, they are coming in perhaps 30, 50, or 100 years.

So long as there’s a glut of fossil fuels it’s party on. Modern civilization runs on fossil fuels, and right now they are abundant.

Actually some interesting straws are already twisting in the wind as predicted by Kunstler and anyone who understands the implications of Peak Oil. Those subprime Auto loans exempted from the new financial regulations post crash are already experiencing problems and as in the preCrash sliced and diced into new fraudulent CDO’s as per “The Big Short”:
Even with record low gasoline prices they are still encountering problems and
oil prices have not even increased yet!
Of course the banksters have sliced and diced them multiple times per usual:

      http://finance.yahoo.com/news/whats-going-beneath-subprime-auto-142302987.html

“…Last week, it appeared the chickens had come home to roost for some subprime auto lenders and investors, with Fitch Ratings warning that delinquencies in subprime car loans had reached a high not seen since October 1996. The number of borrowers who were more than 60 days late on their car bills in February rose 11.6 percent from the same period a year ago, bringing the delinquency rate to a total 5.16 percent, according to the credit rating agency….”

Meanwhile down in Florida the Sprawl developers are back to their old tricks – my niece bought a
suburban tract house, very nice but in the middle of nowhere in the boonies outside Tampa.
Taking the back roads from North Tampa over to Dunedin there were all sorts of cleared Scrub forest
for multiple new sprawl developments in the middle of nowhere with big box shopping malls going up
in tandem. No jobs except of course service jobs like McDonald’s…
Apparently the price of oil will stay low and they believe they will enjoy Happy Motoring forever…

      Same old Same old…
It will go bust again when oil prices inevitably rebound…

I expect the “correction” is coming soon…
Also there is a restriction on placing any solar panels facing the street in this brand spanking
      new suburban sprawl development…
      Wonderful!

The there is this on US Treasures:

All the signs are pointing to another “correction”
Here’s this article as China, Saudi Arabia and others being cashing in their
huge stockpile of US treasuries to pay their increasing debts:

“The world’s biggest bond dealers are getting saddled with Treasuries they can’t seem to easily get rid of, adding to evidence of cracks in the $13.3 trillion market for U.S. government debt.

The 22 primary dealers held more Treasuries last month than any time in the last two years, Federal Reserve Bank of New York data show. While at first glance that may suggest a bullish stance, the surge in holdings is more likely the result of investors including central banks dumping the debt on the firms, said JPMorgan Chase & Co. strategist Jay Barry. Foreign official accounts sold a net $105 billion of the securities in December and January, an unprecedented liquidation, Treasury Department data show….”

The abundance or lack of plentiful and/or cheap oil is certainly a big variable in the operational abilities of our American economy but it is not the be all to end all that so many think it is. The poison to our system has already been ingested and it is will bring on the demise of the Goose that Sustains the Golden Eggs, the American Income Machine:

      http://money.cnn.com/2011/06/09/news/economy/household_wealth/

The greed at the top had been not only syphoning off as much of our incomes as it can swallow, but has pumped up the debt to steal even more from us than we ever will be able to make in the future. America will soon discover shortly what Bernie Madoff found out the hard way, that Ponzi Schemes always fall apart in the end.

As an elected government official I have the frequent occasion to communicate and converse with those elected government officials above our level which most citizens never really do anymore. In a recent conversation with one of our congressional reps, I was told that according to him, most Americans are simply hanging on by the skin of their teeth, hoping that things are going to get better – but they are NOT. They are going to get worse – much worse. His words. If Americans would pull their heads away from their TV’s and dumbPhones and listen to what the government has been actually saying and doing for quite a while now, they would realize that calamity is being prepare for by every level of our government, a fact that can easily be verified by a quick trip to ready.gov, FEMA, NASA, DHS, or a host of other websites all across the internet. Even our small town CERT team prepares constantly for such events. The fact the America buries it’s collective heads up their collective butts in denial does not change this fact nor does it prove that this particular projected eventuality is a tin foil hat dream or a conspiracy theory. It is an eventuality that those of us who are paid to plan for future events as the government understand and keep aware of. Which is more likely to occur in 2016, a New Golden Age of Prosperity or failure of a broken system on a grand scale? If you believe the former rather than the latter then I ask you to please share what you are smoking because I could use a good buzz too.

“I can’t see an economic collapse so long as fossil fuels are abundant and cheap.”-Isjogren.

Except that global trade already has collapsed – see CCFI, SCFI, BDI, etc. See also US domestic truck and train traffic, also refer to the collapse in the basic inputs that feed manufacturing (even in China) copper, coal (coke and thermal), steel, nickel and of course the crash in fuel demand – worldwide inventories have never been higher.

The Western Roman Empire did not collapse because they ran out of slaves (or wind-, or water-power) it collapsed because they allowed the supporting infrastructure to manage these resources to rot. Then came the waves of refugees fleeing even wilder rampaging hordes farther afield – a challenge that would have been taken in stride in earlier, healthier times – and then… well you know what happened.

History cannot repeat but it will ‘rhyme’ when the constraints and salient factors are similar. It’s not our job to predict the future, but we can keep abreast with the present.

      Cheers!

Greg, I read an article on Yahoo yesterday that said three of Ted Cruz’s top foreign policy advisors are war mongers Frank Gaffney, Michael Ledeen, and Eliot Abrams. Cruz has vowed to tear up the Iran peace deal on his first day in office. It should be clear to all that a vote for Cruz is a vote to give the old Shock ‘n Awe to Teheran, which could lead to WWIII and the hoped-for, in certain circles, Battle of Armageddon And millions have been brainwashed to think that Trump, who has condemned our ME wars, is too dangerous to be elected.

If the crisis will destroy the world economy faster than US will be closing shale oil and other “expensive” oil projects, oil shortage can be easily avoided.

All 2015 oil companies around the world substantially decreased their investment programs, keeping exploration and development of new deposits to a minimum.

” oil shortage can be easily avoided.”

      Finc,
I remember in the late 60’s, when gas in the US was under 60 cents a gallon, that Italian consumers were reportedly paying the equivalent of $5.00 per gallon for gas…hence vespa scooters for the then middle class of Italy. There will, in our lifetimes, never be a time where oil will be widely unobtainable…rather, it will be available at a price that you might be unable, or unwilling to pay…for many people, functionally unobtainable.

Kunstler asks are there no persons with “comfortable fortunes and better minds bold enough to take on the matrix of mafias running our affairs into the ground?”

No, there aren’t. Our politicians are bought, blackmailed, and corrupted by these same mafias. Our academicians have rotted brains from appeasing the passive-aggressive, political correctness nazis. Meanwhile, our business leaders are blissfully riding the gravy train of unearned privilege. And the MSM pumps out the lie “It’s all good; why change anything?”

Maybe it takes a rude, combative, “I don’t give a shit” fighter to break this country’s spiral journey down the toilet bowl of history.

      hm,

Yours may be the best comment of the day. I’d say of the week but it’s Monday.

outsider’s comment a couple posts ^above^ (among other reasons) is why Cruz isn’t the answer. I don’t want to see what it takes to “make sand glow.” We already know Hillary is of that war mongering ilk.

I found my thoughts today drifting to – of all people – Bil Cosby, as a metaphor for an American society embracing hypocrisy, wrapped in lies, comforted by delusion. Mr Pudding Pops, our ideal example of fatherhood, turned out to be a life long serial rapist and America goes “ho hum”. It’s a measure of our jaded, double-think, Orwellian condition. How would 1950’s America have reacted if they discovered Ozzie Nelson kept chained rape slaves in the fallout shelter?

Is Trump just more of the same, hypocrisy and delusion? Probably, but do we deserve any better?

We have a perpetual warfare state which causes untold suffering all over the globe in the service of the oligarchy’s financial hegemony. The media white washes it. The people ignore it. “Ho hum, let’s see what the Kardashians are up to.”

Americans vilify those “good” Germans who said nothing against Hitler. They had a reason to keep quiet. What’s your reason, America?

      • Sean Coleman March 22, 2016 at 5:00 pm #

Have a look at ‘Bill Cosby: A Voice of Reason’, a video by the English journalist Alexander Baron. If you haven’t the time to watch it all, at least skim through and have a look at the calibre of the witnesses. I find him very fair minded, even if he is a Spurs supporter. I’m afraid it’s yet another witch hunt.

        • hmuller March 23, 2016 at 10:41 am #

Over 50 women have accused Cosby and they are not all inmates at the same asylum signing a petition. They are a diverse group, spanning decades, and mostly credible. (Yes, it’s possible a few publicity seekers jumped on the bandwagon.)

A rhetorically skilled attorney/advocate like Alexander Baron can always nitpick and create holes in an argument, especially if he speaks unopposed.

Cosby has paid money to settle civil cases of sexual assault rather than go to trial, but now he faces a criminal trial. We’ll get a chance to hear both sides of the case.

          • Sean Coleman March 23, 2016 at 5:58 pm #

Have a look at the five minutes from 40 minutes in, about Janice Dickinson. I know no more about this case than what is in the video, but I do know how many other witch hunts have gone.

‘We’ll get a chance to hear both sides of the case’

I hope so. It will be test of your justice system. If it is anything like what has been happening on this side of the Atlantic then I don’t think he stands a chance. In Portugal a few years ago Carlos Cruz (ther ‘Mr Television’) was convicted in a farce of a trial: the court refused to take account of his plentiful evidence that he couldn’t have been where they said he had been (for the simple reason that it would have acquitted him) and well into the proceedings the prosecution suddenly withdrew more than 40 accusations because they didn’t stand up. Cruz (along with other men) was convicted on the ‘resonance of truth’, that is, the sheer number of accusations outweighed the lack of solid evidence.

In Ireland we have had anti-Catholic hysteria. Look up the Nora Wall case. She was a nun and the first woman ever convicted of rape in Ireland. They gave her a life sentence. A homeless man was accused and convicted along with her, just to add verisimilitude. He died not long after. Wall was later released to a mountain of media silence. I can’t remember but I think the homeless man had solid evidence on his side as Wall probably did too, but to be honest when looking at these cases there is *so* much deceit that it is hard to keep track.

In England the big case, which kicked off the hysteria again after his death a few years ago, was that against Jimmy Savile, a well known disc jockey and charity fund raiser. I hadn’t looked at this case until three weeks ago, but predicted that most of the accusations would be deceit and fantasy. Actually I have not yet come across a single piece of evidence that can stand up on its own. It is a quite extraordinary thing to behold. He was branded by police and children’s charity as perhaps the most prolific sex criminal ever, and the thing about it is, to use the hackneyed expression, ‘he did it all in plain sight’ (and with a salivating press watching his every move, fed on rumours of their own making, hoping he would slip up). He had supernatural powers, you see, that allowed him to become invisible, to walk through solid walls and to travel back and forth in time to commit his horrendous crimes! And the thing is, people swallow it all and think you are insane if you express any doubt.

In the USA you had the Boston clerical scandal. I can’t find out much about it except for the cases of Fr Paul Shanley who was convicted on recovered memory. There is a good article out there by a reporter with a Polish surname. Three of the four witnesses who had recovered their memories withdrew from the case when their evidence collapsed, but the fourth was talked into not following suit by a court official, which I understand is highly questionable.

These are all cases taken at random, perhaps because they are among the most well known.

My own interest is psychological because it shows just how fragile our reason and our institutions are. So it will be interesting to see how the trial goes.

          • Sean Coleman March 24, 2016 at 6:33 am #

As for the question of “Why Trump”, I’ll attempt to field an answer in the form of two, shall we say, thought-provoking articles each written by Gen-Xers as cynical as myself:

Revenge of the Simple by Matt Taibbi which specifically refers to the Trump phenomenon.

Spite the Vote by Mark Ames, which makes no reference to Trump but still gives all the background information you need to understand the political rise of America’s most controversial former game-show host.

Today, after the liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Patriarch said quite sensational words

Today we talk about the global Human Heresy of worshiping the Individual, new idolatry that expelled God from human life. Nothing like this has ever been on a global scale. It is to overcome this heresy of our time, the consequences of which may be apocalyptic; the Church must direct the force of its defense, of its words, of its thoughts.

    We must defend Christianity

The Patriarch recalled that in modern times the universal criterion of truth became an Individual and his Rights, and began the exile of God from human life, from the life of society.

The inalienable rights which God gave to man are the foundation of a rational and just government and a limitation on its power. What’s un-Christian about that?

Disorder is necessary at this point. There is no remedial action possible. I was a Peak Oil believer, but now I think the future will be herky-jerky, not one long slide into Palookaville. I think the surest proof of this is the demise of the coal industry. America has abandoned coal as a fuel source because we are literally swimming in natural gas. The Holy Trinity of fossil fuel has no become a Holy Duality.

The idea of a “Trumpenstein monster” and Yeats’s poem about the center not holding have been mentioned in comments, and these are the theme of an essay I wrote recently about the “rough beast out there right now, slouching towards Washington.”

It is a Frankenstein monster formed from an angry electorate’s troubled mix of ugly prejudice, religious zeal, and legitimate grievance–partly about having served as useful idiots for a moneyed class that pandered to their social conservatism while bleeding them dry. What the billionaire political manipulators originally tinkered into existence as a servant for carrying out their specific and selfish goals has gone out of their control.

Now the “darkness drops again” and the monster is plodding into the night, ignoring the commands of those who spent millions trying to be its masters. This is a spectacle both terrifying and exhilarating to watch.

    From “Slouching Towards Washington,” http://blog.edsuom.com/2016/03/slouching-towards-washington.html

Yes, after WW2 a big effort was made to railroad the nations of the world into disarming with the UN becoming the only armed entity. Luckily this beast was beaten back. JFK was on both sides of this issue – approving of this but at the same time being against the Banks, as if they weren’t behind the first initiative. His confusion may have gotten him killed.

JHK is right, those far away days when Dad had a job and few of us had any reasonable prospect of homelessness are not coming back.

Fashionable leftists sneer, they claim the Reagan-esque white-picket fence vision of lawns and barking dogs and kids playing on bicycles never existed, that they’re a Hollywood delirium, at best a wishing for a time that never was. The problem is people like me and JHK and a multitude of others who were eye-witness to it.

So prospective Winston Smiths in various ‘ology departments can dump all the records they want down the memory-hole, they can falsify history in the name of this or that racial or gender or social particularity, none of it changes what we lived.

Sorry ‘ologists, I wipe my ass with your academic and civil service career aspirations. Moms weren’t miserable pill addicts, dads weren’t abusive drunks, they really did sweat at the same factories for thirty year stretches, they really did shut up and do their jobs and wash the car and put food on the table.

And yeah, there really were some reasonably good men at the podium. Ike was no figment of the imagination, neither was Harry Houdini, who looks much better in hindsight than he did at the time. Thanks to Mr Trump, the Republican Party is burning on the scrapheap of failed arrangements. And good bloody riddance.

See, Trump, for all his crudities, is one of a very few politicians (Bernie is another) that at least pretend to call bullshit on the whole offshoring-globalization agenda that ruined the lives of tens of millions.

And there’s this consideration, globalization isn’t an irreversible process, especially given that the underlying business and economic model doesn’t work. It doesn’t work because it CAN’T work and there’s no Fed machination that can MAKE it work, and so like it or not, the world is on its way back.

The question is what awaits us. AS JHK sez, there will be a new disposition, those rosy days of prosperity were the product of circumstances as they were way back then. But those days are gone. Ike is dead and so are Mr and Mrs Cleaver.

    • Janos Skorenzy March 21, 2016 at 2:22 pm #

Read how Ike treated German prisoners of war. He called them something different to get around the Geneva Convention and then let them die of exposure in “camps” that were just space enclosed by barbed wire. The man was a white washed tomb.

He spent his life serving the Military Industrial Complex. He only seems better because it was still early in the process. If he was president today, he’s be another Obama or Bush, perhaps warning of the dangers of Globalism in his last speech or memoirs after doing his utmost to implement it during his term of office.

These are dedicated members trying to work their way into the Inner Party thru good woks and Revolutionary Aktion! Comrade Goldstein, errr, Sanders is very interested that they succeed.

It literally is not working, right now. That’s not wishful thinking or scare-mongering, that is a fact. When a huge Australian coal-mine can sell for billions one year a one US dollar the next, that should (and did) wake some people up.

But hey, if they don’t want to roll out of bed and smell the coffee, that’s their business. They can choose to die out of their troubles and ‘take care’ of things that way, if they like.

Donald Trump is a made man from the Media. Only in a lowest-common-denominator, 24 hour, ratings-hungry media-driven culture does a guy in the construction business get so much air-time. In fact not only does he not have to pay for much of it…he has been getting paid handsomely from it. He is a T.V. star no less.

He’s got the big bucks and the beautiful wive(s); Casinos; airlines; hotels; sports leagues…the list goes on. He is an Entrepreneurs’ entrepreneur and a damned successful one at that.

When the fictional Gordon Gecko said “Greed is good!” he distilled the American dream into three little words. Don’t believe the bullshit about fair play, sharing, and being nice.

It is all about winning, and inarticulateness, vulgarianisms and xenophobic utterances (which are long overdue) aside, Donald Trump is a 100%, All-American, big-time Winner. And he can prove it.

    And Americans love a winner.

In the theater of the absurd, which comment would have the top billing?

It should be noted that the question of the use of the Atom bomb on the Japanese was decided when America had millions of men in Uniform, and the rich and powerful at that time had their sons in harms way. The sons of Presidents, past and current, Generals, Senators, the millionaires of that time all had close relatives at risk. The invasion of the home islands were projected to produce casualties approaching one million Americans. How difficult would it be for those in power to decide to use a potential game ender to save countless American lives, and, perhaps, the lives of their sons?

The opinion that race or religion was part of that metric is a canard. Don’t try to overthink this issue…it was a basic, existential, question, and there was never a racial/cultural issue seriously considered at the level of where the final decisions were made.

C’mon guys – don’t all of us understand that the entire religion “thing” is business?

Catholic, Protestant, Fundamentalist, Hindu, Mohammedan, Hebraic, Buddhist, Voodoo, Zoroastrian, ……..ad nauseum.

A very rare man who saw right through the crap said the following:

“In the Bullshit Department, a businessman can’t hold a candle to a clergyman. ‘Cause I gotta tell you the truth, folks. When it comes to bullshit, big-time, major league bullshit, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims: religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bullshit story ever told.
” Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there’s an invisible man — living in the sky — who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever ’til the end of time!
          ” But He loves you.
” He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He’s all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can’t handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit!”

It’s going to be interesting to see how she handles the coming economic crash. Even rich Aunt Janet at the Fed won’t be able to create enough funny money to keep the quadrillion dollar derivatives market afloat. I’m sure Hillary’s owners on Wall St. will keep pushing for more bailouts even after the bank runs have shuddered every for-profit financial institution and the economy has gone back to cash.

      • swmnguy March 21, 2016 at 9:22 pm #

I’m sure the bailouts have already been arranged.

I remember in May, 2008, reading a report that then Sen. Obama had collected more contributions from Wall Street than either Sen. McCain, the GOP nominee, or Sen. Clinton, the sitting Senator from New York and spouse of the (then) most-abjectly Finance-owned President America had ever had.

The Democratic nomination hadn’t yet been decided, but when I read that it crossed my mind that “The Fix is In!” and not only would Obama be nominated and elected, the collapse I saw brewing at the time would happen, and the deal had already been cut to save Wall Street; reimburse their losses and socialize whatever couldn’t be bailed out onto the taxpayer’s ledger.

Then in October, when it was hitting the fan for all to see, both candidates Obama and McCain promised, if elected, to name as Secretary of the Treasury the same Timothy F. Geithner.

I haven’t been surprised by anything that’s happened regarding Finance and Government since.

The interesting part is right now is that it seems Trump, an oligarch himself, doesn’t seem to have a deal in place with Wall Street. Rivalry among insiders? Somebody holding out for their price? I suppose we’ll all find out.

Tomorrow Bernie Sanders begins his march to gain the number of delegates needed for the Democratic nomination. Bernie should defeat Hillary in several states and begin to cut into her lead.

Bernie’s wins tomorrow will add to the hundreds of delegates he already has won in victories in nine states. Hillary has peaked. Bernie’s momentum continues to grow as he continues to defeat Hillary in both caucuses and primaries.

Bernie also raised far more money in February than Hillary. It wasn’t even close. Hillary continues to meet with millionaires and billionaires to beg for money. Bernie continues to refuse to take money from the super-rich and is not beholden to them. Bernie’s political revolution is just starting.

Bernie will gain on Hillary from now until June 7 …. Defeating Hillary in state after state … Cutting into Hillary’s current delegate lead until the super-delegates flip on give their support to Bernie Sanders.

In the general election polls show Bernie is the stronger candidate to defeat the short-fingered vulgarian. Bernie is the most electable candidate in the 2016 race.

So now we have some goof crashing a Trump rally in KKK regalia and gettin’ five o’ the best and a few boots too.

The intelligentsia are quite predictably appalled. Never mind for the moment it was a Black dude doing the honors. Because that doesn’t fit the template, no, see, all Trump supporters are supposed to be angry old white men.

In any case, White or Black, this violence, can’t have it, no sir.

David Brooks (talking about oblivious) sez Trump supporters are a coalition of the dispossessed. And there’s coalitions of idiots, including big-time newspaper columnists, that purported to NOT see what happened to huge areas of the country over the past two generations. And purport to be surprised and shocked and appalled at the dismembering of the political party that acted as chief ideologist and apologist. And the violence, oh my, the VIOLENCE. David Brooks sez maybe he should be more socially inter-mingled.

Are the professional observers really that stupid or is it all an act?

    • swmnguy March 21, 2016 at 9:32 pm #

I think it’s largely an act. There are some so stupid they’re not acting, but I think they’re in the minority.

In Official America, you can’t admit there are serious socio-economic problems being swept under the rug. You can admit America has serious racial problems that have never been honestly addressed, as long as you make no move toward addressing them of course. But you can’t acknowledge that the system is broken, rigged, corrupted, and no longer works for a critical mass of Americans. You can’t admit the corruption that has become routine in America, indeed has become official and unquestioned.

Once you can’t admit those things, your ability to explain what’s happening is severely limited. All acceptable explanations are either going to have to be incredibly simplistic or blatantly stupid. Or both.

JHK’s characterization of Trump as a “vulgarian” brings to mind the memory of an old television commercial. Remember Charlie the Tuna in the StarKist commercials? After repeated attempts to disport himself as cultivated, Charlie was admonished with the reminder that “Starkist wants tunas that taste good, not tunas with good taste.”

How is Donald Trump not the personification of all we Americans hold dear? First and foremost he is a celebrity: this trumps all else in our fair land. He’s filthy rich: that’s second only to celebrity. He’s male. Required gender for any serious consideration. He’s white: ’nuff said.

    He is US.

    So what’s the problem?
Why do we even question his desire to run the place? Who else is as qualified as the truest of true Americans?
To deny The Donald is to gainsay Americanism; our very uniqueness. It’s almost unpatriotic!

It’s been pointed out he is racist; a bigot. So! He’s wants a wall across the border with Mexico in lieu of a realistic immigrant policy. So! As a professional builder that’s merely and extension of an existing wall and is true to form. He wants to bar entry to Muslims fearing blow-back from ongoing foreign policy practices they may resent. So! Don’t we all? He challenges the Pope for interfering in domestic politics. So! How do these positions and/or future diktats make him un-America? They all seem utterly American.

Alas, Donald J. Trump may not be a true patriot. Yes, I know, it’s painful to even contemplate. He has all those good things going, but… and it’s a biggie. He is weak where it is least forgivable.
The Donald does not believe in us as a real American must. He has doubts about the wisdom of our most cherished goal, the guiding light which has led us since the Nation was reinvented in 1898 and our heroic Empire was created.

I submit this weakness leaves Donald Trump barely fit to call himself an American let alone rule our land. He has dared to suggest we pull back our armed forces from their rightful deployments worldwide and that is just simply un-American.

For shame, Donald J Trump. You had so much promise.

You must repent and demand we attack somewhere. Iran comes to mind. Or…

“For Trump, it seems to be a restoration of the 1950s, when armies of “breadwinner” factory workers churned out cornucopias of Maytag washers and Zenith black-and-white televisions, and the less numerous Wogs of the outside world busied themselves with basket-weaving, and Atoms For Peace would make electric power “too cheap to meter,” and popular entertainment came in the chaste form of Dinah Shore urging the upward-aspiring masses to “see the USA in your Chevrolet!”

    Sounds like “Morning in America”.

Oh lord, Trump is the second coming of Regan. The end is nigh.

There was a time when the only efficacious treatment for syphilis was to ingest arsenic. You knew that taking arsenic would be terribly damaging, possible fatal, but you could be certain that the alternative was the ghastly, slow death caused by tertiary syphilis. If the arsenic didn’t kill you, you might survive, or possibly even regain eventual health.

The stranglehold the Deep State has on our ruined democracy was planned to continue without a ruffle this election cycle by only offering us the non-choice of Jeb and Hillary. With Jeb out we now have an alternative – a terrible alternative, to be sure , but it appears to be the only one available – to eight years of syphilitic demise with a sixth and seventh Bush/Clinton administration.

Barring the miracle of some more agreeable development in the next few months, I expect to hold my nose, swig the arsenic, and hope to survive it.

The Uses of Disorder? Or a blatant threat of terror to come? I advise that we take Mr Kunstler’s advice given in his book The Long Emergency: zero tolerance for Black nihilism. For generations Blacks have been treated with kid gloves. The gloves must come off now and they must see the Iron Fist. They proceed then at their own peril. They mean to try our strength, test our resolve? They must not find these wanting. As many a convict has said, I didn’t dare not retaliate. That is the position we have put ourselves in after decades of appeasement.

The Queen of Britain announced that she would not be able to give an audience to US President Obama, when he comes to London.

The reason for cancellation of an audience is clear – because Obama really went against the protégé of the British Crown in the United States, Hillary Clinton, the British royal house decided to make him an obstruction, thus showing the real situation in the notorious stories about transatlantic unity of Britain and US.

The Trump Presidency may be the cornerstone, which will allow throwing off the dominion over the world of those who had govern it from the middle of the seventeenth century, and whose power failed to displace French and Russian revolutionaries.

And they – the real masters of the world – are well aware that the Trump-Putin axis will quickly string together all European capitals and will throw off the yoke of centuries-old oppressors and the world will be able to spend money not on the arms race with corrupted MIC or replace gadgets every six months, but on the real problems of mankind.

Here’s something to think about: your local hospital switched to just in time inventory a long time ago. Hospitals used to have about a month’s worth of supplies on hand. Now, they’ll run out of Band-Aids in three days if the economy fails – 24 hours or less if there’s a real emergency.

But don’t worry – FEMA will step in to save the day, like they did in New Orleans.

The times made Trump. The times that not only allowed criminal bankers and fund managers to make money hand-over-fist and get bailed out when their bets fizzled, but to avoid jail when their chicanery was revealed. For all its cosmopolitan veneer New York high society is a very insular and competitive world. He had had enough. He is a guy building things, garish and grandiose they may be, they are built things. Tangible. Meanwhile the big billionaires are making money trading secrets, rigging the system, and making sure their well connected friends on the inside are printing more money, lowering rates, relieving them of troubled assets, and of course, easing things, as they say, quantitatively. They got the best tables at Le Cirque and Masa, not him. Sure he has celebrity, but they have power, and more importantly, more money. He has charisma, one thing the weaselly Blankfein can’t make a run on, and he’s not a guy that should be in prison like Dimon. He can make a run, so why not? It’s all about that NY hustle. It’s now just a matter of time before his little town blues shtick starts to melt away… it’s pull to the center time after all. Small game primary hunting is over.

  38. Arkie March 21, 2016 at 6:37 pm #

    Jim,

You made some pretty good points about where things are going whether we like it or not. I would like to see Trump as president, I don’t think he could do any worse than the current one and his predecessor. The other reason I like Trump is he is his own man in that the monied interest don’t own him and that’s how they usually control the candidates. I’m mad as hell at the Democrats and the Republicans alike, they have fucked us all for a long time and now people are rising up and they see a champion in Trump who is addressing the real issues, not the ones each party decides will be the issues. I feel like this is Democracies last chance to get it right. I would like to see change this way rather than a Bosnian type civil war with the different factions fighting for control.

Actually I think the country is past saving and doomed to demise and an economic crisis because the People have changed. Fifty percent expect the government to come to their rescue and give them what they need and the other half still work and are being taxed to death by the politicians who are trying to buy votes from the ‘Gimmies”. When it crashes and hits bottom then we will see the ‘laws’ of real economics come into play and the ‘Gimmies’ will either die off or learn about economics 101.

A couple of responses: 1. Can’t understand the commotion concerning Trump’s bombastic screeds. He’s only speaking in the common idiom of the vast American public; not futzing around with the tu-tu, fru-fru language of the power elites. Just watch any tv show, internet website, movie and listen to any popular music and you know instantly how degraded our expressions have become. At least, Trump is able to get across his message plainly and simply.
    2. James, James, please don’t go back to assigning any timelines to your predictions. Slow down, take a deep breath – it’s going to happen (is happening). We just don’t know exactly how and when.

  40. fairguy March 21, 2016 at 8:43 pm #

Were I an American citizen (and not just a resident), I would do everything in my power to support Bernie Sanders. Here is my rationale:

In politics, we ideally look for a candidate possessing the minimum viability trait. Meaning, his central message meets our criteria for correctness even though we may disagree with some of his proposals and even some of his prepositions.

In my mind, Bernie meets this criteria due to his position on Campaign financing. It goes beyond revoking Citizens United all the way to instituting publicly funded elections. This would truly revolutionize American politics, and is doable if he can energize enough people to vote in a Democratic Congress for that purpose. Also, since he is not using PAC money as Obama and Hillary did, he can solidly stand behind that message.

I treat other parts of his message as still important, even crucial but secondary to campaign reform. Even if you disagree with some of them, but agree with the central premise, you should support him.

    – Reducing involvement in foreign wars : critical and doable.

    – Taxing Wall Street “speculation” and breaking up the TBTF banks: critical and doable, although the taxation would not yield enough for social programs.

    – Investing in infrastructure : insofar as trains and public transit are concerned, critical and doable. Same goes for alternate energy sources although * here * Mr Kunstler would be correct to claim that is currently very little understanding even in the Sanders camp, of the true implications of reduced dependency on fossil fuels.

    – Single Payer Healthcare : a no-brainer and not only doable but a big money saver. Also, taking big Pharma out of the medicare equation by negotiating rates would be a big plus.

    – Raising the minimum wage to $15 : a no-brainer to catch up with minimum wages of the 1970’s era.

    – Immigration reform : a prickly issue. I dislike Sanders’ agreeing that undocumented immigrants, once here will not be deported. But most Americans agree that immigration reform is direly needed to balance business reality and the need to protect local jobs.

    – Race and gender politics: I agree with Bernie that cops should be shooting less African Americans for the crime of walking (or running) away from them. However, here too I tend to agree with Mr. Kunstler that the academic left has lost its way in elevating this section of their agenda to the paramount status it now occupies. Americans want solutions for working families and individuals first.

    – Dealing with Mustim terrorism: Bernie, in his Seattle speech yesterday said that all main religions : Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Budhism all teach love and peace.

Wrong! – and I can speak with some knowledge of the first three in the list. Christianity has reformed from its medieval teachings to a place whereby apostates are no longer persecuted in Christian countries. Similar for Judaism, although certain strains in the radical Jewish right want to bring back the old testament approach of “erasing Amalek from the face of the earth”. As for islam, there has been no reform movement to allow for co-existence with the non-believing (Kafr). Therefore, not recognizing the danger and strength of the Jihadi movement will continue threaten Europe, USA and the rest of the civilized world. And blandly calling Islamic jihadi terrorism just “extremism” will not help with that discussion.

In summary, Bernie doesn’t get it all right and doesn’t yet understand that we are overdue for a serious contraction in our economy, but he is a mensch and he gets many fundamentals correct. He is the stepping stone to a civil dialog in this country and its future.

In software, we are increasingly adopting a “mimimal viable product” principle to avoid feature bloat and long release cycles. Bernie is that minimal viable product.

In Jewish tradition, a gentile asks Hillel to describe Judaism in one sentence (today’s “sound bite”), He responds: “What is detestable to you, do not to your friend”. Later sages like Akiva and Jesus said “Love your brother as your own” which is expanding on that message, but if we can get to the first point of departure – stop hurting others – that will be a great start.

Yes, visitors to Israel ask the Israelis how they can treat their Muslim neighbors the way they do. The reply: They aren’t our neighbors. A neighbor is by definition a Jew. That’s Judaism. And your quote doesn’t deny it either. The Old Testament was harsh enough – things only got worse with the Talmud.

Sanders says some good things, but his endorsement of the Communists and Black Lives Matter people shutting down free speech is chilling. As is his, “Whites don’t know what it means to be poor”. What an unspeakably ignorant statement. With him, we can only expect more pandering to minorities and more ignoring of the needs of poor Whites. They aren’t his neighbors after all – nor his allies as the Blacks and Hispanics are.

Just pondering how the Establishment might punt the General Election to avoid the chaos of two, three, or four rump candidates.

[Act One] Both Establishment Parties break apart and the political scene is in chaos. Since Americans tend to stay with a Devil they know, certain Respectable Persons will push the theme to keep Obama in office until things settle down. Since Obama cannot stay in for more than two terms (and to avoid something worse than what happened in 1968) Obama announces that he will step down in accordance to the 22nd Amendment. BUT…. CONGRESS will appoint Joe Biden to be President.

[Act Two] The sales pitch will use History and the Founding Fathers’ original design (the Virginia Plan) to authorize Congress to elect the President. This will mollify the Patriot crowd because, WELL, if it’s what the Founding Fathers wanted in the beginning, it must be good. The rest of the Sheep will go along because the media will saturate the masses with bullet points full of lofty-sounding appeals to History.

[Act Three] The professional chatterboxes reassure The Sheep that the Founding Fathers would have wanted it this way. The Talking Heads pretend to grumble but agree in unison,
“It could have been worse. At least with an appointed President Joe Biden, we all know who he is and he won’t need OJT,” and,
“The American People have been spared from the fallout of two shattered parties,” and,
“The American people are comfortable with the Obama legacy. President Biden is keeping on course and not rocking the boat.”

[Act Four] After a satisfactory (and deliberately boring) year under Congressionally-appointed President Biden, the Sheep have decided that everything turned out O.K. after all. Wall Street recovers briskly. The talking heads on TV will push to officially revive the Virginia Plan and make it law. The pundits will celebrate the demise of Presidential campaign circuses and we won’t miss it one bit.

[Epilogue] Our grandchildren will marvel at the stupidity of Presidential races and all the madness inherent in them. The 17th Amendment hangs from a thread as State Governors cite the Founding Fathers’ intention for Governors to appoint U.S. Senators. Drawing on the highest powers of irony, the Establishment becomes popular and our slavery is completed with our full approval.

This country, and the old Republican party establishment needed a swift kick in the nuts, and Trump had and has the long boot to do it.

No longer viewed as some clownish bashibazouk, he’s now the baleful bashibazouk, swinging a baseball bat at the very balls of the sick old party.

Enter the wealthy, wretched Romney, who would give us the teeming refuse of the old Republican party, yearning to have us disenfranchised. • beantownbill. March 22, 2016 at 12:59 am #

Marlin, I observed, weighed the evidence, thought it through, and came to the conclusion – for various reasons – that God doesn’t exist, and that as much as we don’t like it, when we die we cease to exist. I accept that that is the way it is. The benefit of this for me is that I appreciate so many liittle things in life, and I live every precious day with joy, trying to live the Golden Rule.

I suppose there are those that are bitter about not believing God exists and become terrible human beings, but most atheists are just like everyone else, except for that one thing.

National Socialists were very religious, and radical Islamists obviously strongly believe in Allah. Many Bolsheviks are atheists, but many atheists are not Bolsheviks.

Since I am Jewish, I’ve known multitudes (to use a CFN poster’s word) of Jews, and not very many of them were atheists. In fact, I’d say the percentage is the same as for Christians, at least in my experience. Saying otherwise, is to me, a prejudicial statement.

That’s obviously how he was raised. So can we not infer that Israel is probably Mr Brooks first allegiance as well?

Not that I doubt his loyalty – not for a second! As long as America serves Israel that is, and not for a second longer.

          • beantownbill. March 22, 2016 at 11:38 am #

I know this may seem strange, but if we make it through the coming bad times, I think that most of the Judeo-Christian (including Judaism) branches will merge together. This is because if we survive, science will progress much more and the concept of God will be openly questioned by the masses.

Science and religion are incompatible in my view, despite statements by both sides that claim these 2 ways of thinking can accommodate each other. This is because science can explain the phenomena we’ve seen in the universe and religion hasn’t. As science advances, religions will gradually fade away. http://www.tshirthell.com/funny-shirts/men-who-wear-sandals-get-what-they-deserve/

I figure I’ll wear it to the ‘Rican parade down main street on Good Friday when they drag the ol’ wooden cross. How do you think it will go over? Actually I probably wouldn’t make it through the afternoon. We all know that these religious nuts are so understanding and all.

“People decline and die and are replaced by new people, and political economies wither and morph into sets of new activities and relations.”

For centuries we have seen an OVERALL improvement in our living arrangements. A lot of people will have to move and change to maintain or increase their quality of life like they’ve been doing for thousands of years. The U.S. is only about 200 years old. We’ve lived to see what Kunstler is referring to here in the U.S. Places like New York and Detroit and San Francisco have gone up and down and up with the passing of generations and political figures.

According to a 2008 New York Times column by Maureen Dowd, one of Hillary’s core principles is: “Fake It Until You Make It.”

“But because, through humiliation and pain, she has shown herself to be a skilled survivor. She said she embraces the old saying, “Fake it till you make it.”

  52. K-Dog March 22, 2016 at 3:00 am #

I extracted the essential Kunstler cutting the political circus out.

America is going to learn something about the uses of disorder before this year is out. One of these is to compel the construction of a coherent consensus as to what is actually happening in the world, apart from our wishes and fantasies. That is, if we are not torn apart in the process of getting to that.

I like “earnestness, purposeful work, generosity-of-spirit, and plain dealing” best but can disorder get us there?

    That is the question!

President Trump on Brussels, less than 2 months ago:

Donald Trump Finds New City to Insult: Brussels

Molenbeek, the working-class Brussels district where several of the Paris attackers lived. Donald J. Trump’s characterization of Belgium’s capital as a “hellhole” has upset Belgians. Credit Andrew Testa for The New York Times
LONDON — He incensed Paris and London by saying that some of their neighborhoods were so overrun with radicals that the police were too scared to enter.
He raised Scottish tempers by threatening to pull the plug on his investments there, including his luxury golf courses, if British politicians barred him from entering Britain.
Now Donald J. Trump has upset the already beleaguered people of Belgium, calling its capital, Brussels, “a hellhole.”
Asked by the Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo about the feasibility of his proposal to bar foreign Muslims from entering the United States, Mr. Trump argued that Belgium and France had been blighted by the failure of Muslims in these countries to integrate.
“There is something going on, Maria,” he said. “Go to Brussels. Go to Paris. Go to different places. There is something going on and it’s not good, where they want Shariah law, where they want this, where they want things that — you know, there has to be some assimilation. There is no assimilation. There is something bad going on.”
Warming to his theme, he added that Brussels was in a particularly dire state. “You go to Brussels — I was in Brussels a long time ago, 20 years ago, so beautiful, everything is so beautiful — it’s like living in a hellhole right now,” Mr. Trump continued.

    All Hail Our Glorious Leader!

    Great column this week, JHK.

    As to the windup:

“…Americans at large, lost in the their cell phone app raptures and Kardashian masturbation fantasies have no idea how fragile the systems they depend on are.” –JHK

**From what I observe, this lack of awareness is entirely willful and voluntary; they simply don’t want to know, they’ve been well trained in utter dependence and entertainment from ‘elsewhere’… plus, that thinkin’ shit is *hard*. (Personally, I couldn’t care less about the Kar-trashians, or anybody who’s famous for being famous. The whole cult-of-personality schtick is very strange and a blatant waste of focus.)

“America is going to learn something about the uses of disorder before this year is out. One of these is to compel the construction of a coherent consensus as to what is actually happening in the world, apart from our wishes and fantasies. That is, if we are not torn apart in the process of getting to that.” –JHK

**Aye, there’s the rub. Torn to pieces by the unwillingness to face contraction and slavish worship of saviors, or acceptance that we’ve actually got to work together and lift our eyes and concentration away from our little screens and endless, numbing “entertainments”. (Make no mistake; the loss of these entertainments will make some lose their tiny, closeted, unimaginative minds. Color me unsympathetic… go ahead, I’ve got other things to attend to, and if *Folks* can’t retrain themselves according to over-arching realities, that’s too damn bad, now isn’t it?)

If this comment board is any indicator of the true bent[s] of the ‘citizens’ of this country, I’m putting my bets on a future of hard-core militaristic authoritarianism, as it’s probably the only way the current status quo -or at least the appearance of it- can be maintained. Sure, it will eventually collapse from its climate of waste, fear and [more] undeserved privilege for those enthroned at the top of the pyramid of skulls, but I’m seeing much damage and an ensuing legacy of deep hatred, revenge and fragmentation as a result. Best of luck, and be very careful at which altar you should choose to worship, ‘Folks’.

    • Janos Skorenzy March 22, 2016 at 2:54 pm #

Aye, you fear the Folk. And you do well to do so. Long have you worshiped strange gods, gods like Anarchism and Communism. Such gods have no place among us. Perhaps your parents are at fault? Throw yourself on the mercy of the court when the time comes. We are not without mercy – but it does rank behind justice in our book.

Say, did any of you read vladdie’s latest contribution to the literary compendium? It’s titled:
“The Gullible and The Garotte — Cultivating ‘Lifelong’ Friendships While Serving The Reich”.

No? Me neither. I spotted it in the cut-out bin next to the “Self-Hurt” section of the local book store. I asked the clerk what the price was, but she just waved me off and blurted, “Just take the thing out of here… please, just take it!” Of course, upon that glowing recommendation, I dropped it back into the bin like a hot rock. Sorry Lady, perhaps someday the author will return to relieve you of it… but you might hope he doesn’t.

tarnation Ozone, much as a highly edumacated sheeple like me would like to roundly deplore all the negative sentiments in Orlov’s post, I just can’t. I guess that makes me out to be a lot more redneck that I’d like to admit or than polite company would accept.

I got up on my high-horse not long ago in relation to one of Chris Hedges posts saying that “hate” is such a strong word. Yet, what of it, what would we expect after all the wrack and ruin inflicted on that class of people that the glitterati despise and piss all over every chance they get? What’s the surprise at Trump’s following given that nobody but Trump (and Bernie) would speak up for them?

Shit, Ozone, it makes me sick but I have to say that the Oligarch elite should thank its lucky stars to end up contending with someone as incompetent as Trump. Because, as Orlov sez, Trump isn’t even very good at what he does. But I’d go further, I’d say Trump is damn lousy.

Just look at this gang, Trump included, and you want to weep in despair. Such lousy times, lousier times to come as certain as night, but what’s the likelihood of a Gettysburg Address from any of them?

Well, you get what you get. Sometimes you get what you need – like in the case of Abe and Roosevelt – but sometimes you come up short, sometimes way short. History shows us what some truly gifted orators could do. And I hate to bring up the example of Adolph but he’s the most proximate in time to us.

Sometimes history does what it ought to, sometimes it doesn’t, and Adolph’s case, it didn’t, and he lived to wreak havoc. Too bad how things turned out.

Too bad for us too that Trump stands as tall as an oak compared to those crooked, craven midgets (Tm JHK) that he’s up against.

Jim, apropos the subject and title of this CFN, my second “Inter States” novel is coming out next month, entitled “Emergent Disorder”.

It follow last summer’s “Fossil Nation” ( http://www.amazon.com/Inter-States-Fossil-Nation-Book-ebook/dp/B012BLT4QQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1458666718&sr=1-1&keywords=Fossil+Nation)

    Here’s the teaser:

“A historic migration begins, triggered by Hurricane Rhiannon but accelerated by deeper currents. With winter approaching, hundreds of thousands take to the road in search of safety, potable water, reliable sources of food, and shelter. Their numbers overwhelm infrastructure and governments, roiling politics and changing the demographic character of regions forever.

With the 2040 election only days away, events whip from one surprise to another. A dispute flares around disaster relief offered by China and the European Union. Supporters and opponents dig in along partisan lines. The President is held in contempt, and arrested by a council of national unity. Despite an initial spirit of cooperation, multiple competing claims to federal executive authority arise, precipitating a constitutional crisis. Oligarchs see threats and opportunities in the emerging disorder, and act to protect their interests.

Carried along in the migration are the Trudeau-Kendeil and Daniels families. They have banded together for a harrowing journey of many days from Washington, D.C. to the homes of charitable relatives in New England, in search of the security a family needs in these lean times. Their route takes them through communities coping in diverse ways with economic hardship, an unstable climate, and the swelling numbers of migrants.

A colleague from Jack Trudeau’s past appears with an explanation of the unraveling around them. Grounded in energy science, his letter addresses the federal government’s dysfunction in the face of the crisis, and the new, more assertive role that state governments are quickly assuming. Prepare for abrupt, discontinuous change, he warns.

Challenges multiply as the families travel north. Election Day arrives while they are still on the road. Voter turnout is low among populations side-tracked by the storm and migration. Then, tragedy strikes in the families’ midst, overwhelming plans and driving home a harsh lesson about options and consequences in a world riven by competing realities and relentless resource scarcity.”

    Stay tuned!

Having said that, I hope to be able to send JHK a few bucks to support this site I think it’s important to communicate with others and hear other peoples opinions. Seems to me that this is a time of upheaval in this country. The people who were dumb enough to vote for GWBush, have finally figured out that the middle class is being sold down the drain. The prominence of Trump and Sanders underlies the politics of what’s going on. Personally I thought getting rid of Saddam Hussein was a mistake. Say what you will, he kept the terrorists down. If you fucked with Saddam, he would not only kill You, but he’d kill your whole family, & probably everyone else on your block. I know. I know that is not the PC response response that everyone would like to see, however, when Saddam was in charge, none of that shit happened in Iraq, nor was it imported to the rest of the world. As far as I’m concerned, that is the fault of the Republicans who were stupid enough to vote for “W”, not once but TWICE. Trump is the direct result of that idiocy.. Gonna keep this short, so that people don’t scroll over it like I do with other people’s long winded diatribes.

Strange elections are taking place in US

Trump already behaves as not a nominee of the Republican Party, but as President-elect.

He questions the value of NATO for the United States and made a presentation of his own State Department, from which it follows that he is going to dismiss not only NATO, but also Clinton’s part of Department of State, that is trying to pursue its own policy and through NATO to command the US Army. The US foreign policy to be conducted by Trump, recalls the days of Theodore Roosevelt, when any American involved in any capacity in any war that is not a war, formally declared by the US Congress, was in the eyes of the law of the United States a criminal.

And it is not compatible with the current State Department, whose staff thinks that it is the main part of the diplomatic work.
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/03/21/donald-trump-reveals-foreign-policy-team-in-meeting-with-the-washington-post/

At the same time the Justice Department is subjected to enormous pressure from the American society, law enforcement agencies, the US Army and the Congressional commission of inquiry into the incident in Benghazi, demanding to present Hillary Clinton with criminal charges related to the deliberate violation of the secrecy regime, which killed dozens of US soldiers and CIA agents in the Middle East and Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi. This means in theory if not automatic removal from the election, then at least suspension of her election campaign and Bernie Sanders goes to the convention as the only candidate who has received sufficiently large number of votes of American voters to be nominated for US president.

And in response to this pressure the Justice Department defiantly refuses to indict another female diplomat, a woman who is accused of passing classified information to Pakistan.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/justice-department-declines-to-prosecute-former-us-diplomat/2016/03/21/50bc12d0-efac-11e5-a61f-e9c95c06edca_story.html

And the American press, clearly breaks out of control and starts frankly discuss that America can not solve its internal problems due to the fact that all of its resources go on pointless attack on Russia in the name of interests of the third countries (the EU, Saudi Arabia), which from the point of view of the President of the United States are the enemies not only of Russia but also of the United States. Moreover, US President is going to launch a third campaign in Iraq, which he was going to start a year ago, but wanted to Congress to formally declare war on ISIS.

And at this moment there is a terrorist attack in Brussels.

Could that all end peacefully, please?

  68. Frankiti March 22, 2016 at 5:08 pm #

The depressingly sad irony in all of this is the fact that the only people waging war against the liberal internationalist globalization agenda is the purported enemy of those loyal to the nation state. Europeans sit on their hands while they cede power to Brussels and the corporate lobbyists pushing the neoliberal scheme. They sit and watch their countries bend and break to the dictates from Brussels. They experience the incompetence of federalism in Europe in action.
And who is fighting them? Who is doing their utmost to see “Europe” fail? The people who are supposed to benefit from it. Perhaps they know the truth, they’re merely pawns on the chessboard and resent it. It’s too absurd to contemplate.

“The times made Trump. Small game primary hunting is over.”

Great post: I always enjoy reading your thoughts. Trump actually builds things–BINGO!

Yes, there is so much false consciousness abroad in the land. People are automatically supposed to “care” about all others, so they get used to pretending to do so even as they smirk. The hard core actually feign weeping, fear, etc.

Ever since the Garner case, Blacks have taken to hyperventilating in college debates as if to say “I can’t breathe!”. No doubt wpa practices this in front of a mirror.

Our whole civilization is complicit in this – ever since we become over socialized organization men. Look at the old pictures – nobody is forcing themselves to smile. Around the time of Jimmy Carter, Presidents began to SMILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

      • Buck Stud March 23, 2016 at 11:01 am #

Janos I wonder if you missed my observational point? Those people in the image don’t care about the victims of terrorism; they are simply congratulating themselves–yes I will say it–on their “politically correct” posturing.

And again look at that asshole with the “happy bear” visage. What a prick, smiling like a fool as if embodying Pharrell Williams “Happy” song constitutes a defeat over the forces of death and destruction.

Let’s face it, Trump is right about these fools–there is a big problem both with the terrorists and the people who turn a blind eye and indiscriminately unfurl a welcome mat for the culture they spring from.

I know all about that and am quite capable of reading a man at a single glance. As Mohammad said, Beware the eye of the Believer. You however seem incapable or at least unwilling of raising your consciousness into the ideal world of perfect forms. Thus you may see a man as he is, but not what he should be. You can diagnose but not prescribe. I can not only diagnose and prescribe, but also proscribe. Since you haven’t read the Tablets of Law as they are written on your own heart, you can’t do this either.

No doubt you hold to the “All is permitted” school of Hassan I Sabbah. All modern artists tend towards this kind of lawlessness. Wood has rules that are implicit in its own being. But Man? Just a nullity, right? A black slate or just a bio-computer waiting to be programmed.

Does anyone here know/remember the source, derivation or rationale for referring to Blacks as [Shines]? Back in the ’40s and ’50s my father would occasionally use that word when prompted by anger.

I am interested in words like that and how it is that they come to have such a pejorative sense. The reason, of course, is not the word itself but the contempt with which the word is uttered.

There are probably such words for Whites spoken by Blacks in the privacy of their homes (Honky?) but I can’t imagine myself actually feeling offended (fearful perhaps, yes) but a Black’s (or any other ethnic group’s) contempt for me based on my Whiteness would roll off my back (think water and duck) since I am very comfortable in my own skin.

The situation is developing even faster than expected. Any sane experts said that the uncontrolled invasion of migrants to Europe would turn into a series of terrorist attacks. You have to be a complete idiot to fail to make a connection.

A huge number of people of other religions, hostile, who are absolutely not going to integrate into the modern European culture. And all that happens on the background of the war, which the West leads in the Middle East that the Americans, together with Europeans, staged in ME over the past fifteen years, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya.

It is clear that Brussels was chosen because the city is the capital of the European Union. The scale of the attacks suggests that there is a broad and diversified, and well-functioning organization across Europe. The West’s reaction shows that it is absolutely not ready to meet this challenge.

Snickering lazy Europe is absolutely not ready to defend itself. The Europeans are ready to assemble in workshops and symposiums, blaming “barbaric Russia,” defend pederasts and their rights. Split up the money they make by removing the margin from the third world – it is all necessary and familiar. But to defend against such an opponent who is willing to die to cause maximum damage – it is a nightmare for Europeans.

Europe is in a grave crisis – the system, philosophical, ideological, organizational, military-strategic, and geopolitical. And there is a fundamental fact – over the decades, Europe has taken on its territory millions of immigrants. In recent years, it has acquired the character of a landslide. And the people who came in large part are not going to assimilate, to become Europeans. They’re going to Europe to tear it from left to right and right to left. And Europe during the same period has lost immunity; liberal taint virtually suppressed all healthy forces there.

“A huge number of people of other religions, hostile, who are absolutely not going to integrate into the modern European culture.”

Enter Trump. It was only a natter of time before someone came along and stated the truth of the matter as Trump dis yesterday: “There is a big, big problem”.

And yet, even Ted Cruz qualifies his Muslim comments with PC subterfuge.

Yes, the large majority of Muslims are NOT terrorists. And yes, it only takes a very small minority within the greater mass to do massive destruction.

Trump insists that it is cultural suicide to import a mass which contains a violent, destructive malignancy.

Cruz, playing to the perception of a ‘sophisticated, benevolent leader’ — the “anti-Trump”–states that ‘most Muslims are not violent’. And in doing so, disingenuously ignores Trump’s very valid observations. Indeed, Cruz is basically parroting GW Bush after 9/11 in his attempts to consolidate the “GOP establishment.”

As for the left on this issue, well they have tied themselves into a convoluted, hopeless knot incapable of straight, sensible discourse– however acerbic and acid to those incapable of hearing truth.

Somewhere near latitude 41 degrees N and longitude 112 degrees W, on planet earth, the laws of physics and cosmology can astound us. But don’t be fooled.

In another manifestation of cosmology’s M theory, somewhat like the interchangeability of matter and energy, if one removes or inserts the interior M from or into a Mormon, one is left with an extremely dense and impenetrable, but common form of matter.

Often surrounded by an ethereal, beatific air, it often appears animate, almost intelligent, but upon further analysis it is simply a basic phase change, like water to ice, of moron into Mormon or Mormon into moron.

Just fundamental M theory, no strings attached. Really, there’s nothing new here.

Remember when they said Bernie’s campaign was “over” in New Hampshire? Ha ha ha. Bernie just scored two more victories … big ones, this time in Utah and Idaho.

Here’s why this matters: Bernie walked away from the three states that voted yesterday with a majority of the delegates. That’s yuge. That’s how we of Bernie’s campaign will win the nomination for Bernie.

We always knew last Tuesday was the high water mark for the Clinton campaign. Now it’s our turn to start winning large majorities in many of the remaining states until we take the pledged delegate lead on June 7…. then the super delegates will start flipping over to support Bernie because Bernie is the most electable.

Now we all need to start thinking about what’s next: the 142 delegates at stake in Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii this Saturday.

The news media continues to ignore Bernie, so you probably did not hear about another victory for Bernie: the Democtats Abroad, a big deal in which Bernie received the majority.

    Democrats Abroad Results – March 21, 2016

    Sanders: 69% (nine delegates)
    Clinton: 31% (four delegates)

Here’s why this result is important: we netted more delegates from the Democrats Abroad voting than Hillary Clinton netted with her narrow victories in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Missouri combined.

That means Bernie is closing the gap with each contest, catching up in the delegate count until he has the majority of pledged delegates on June 7 and goes on to win the nomination at the convention.

“They” declared Bernie’s campaign dead prematurely. New Hampshire was prelude…

“All along, this case has been less about this specific iPhone (which likely contains nothing important) and more about setting a precedent. That’s why the Justice Department chose this case, involving a high-profile terrorist, to argue Apple should be forced to weaken the iPhone’s encryption in the name of national security.

The FBI’s recent sky-is-falling rhetoric now sounds less credible since the agency doesn’t appear to need Apple after all. This shift also makes the government’s very public legal and PR campaign against the company look more heavy-handed than before.

For Apple, the news ensures it will not have to rewrite its software at the request of the government. The recent events have also bolstered Apple’s role as a privacy champion, and strengthened the case of CEO Tim Cook that consumers should be able to encrypt their devices.” –Fortune

And that ‘The House of Islam” is being imported to Europe and beyond, thus infestinging and violently consuming the ‘structural lumber’ of the societies hosting them?

Trump declares no more importing of “termites”; that a nation requires strong structural lumber to remain standing strong. The GOP establishment/Cruz state that most Muslim lumber is pest free and by golly doesn’t that observation deserve a pat on the old magnanimous ass.

And the Left? Well basically don’t worry about termites. In fact, the more the merrier. Discriminating or profiling lumber for termites is simply bad because it makes all lumber feel bad. Or something like that.

So, what is the rationale for such completely different political views in these two states? Is it possible that Romney’s anti-Trumpism actually holds sway amongst Mormons? And what about Bernie? What makes Utah so pro-Bernie while Ariz is so anti-Bernie?

Writing “Trump 2016” is now apparently hate speech:

The president of Emory University has met with 40 to 50 student demonstrators who said they were concerned and frightened after someone wrote “Trump 2016” in chalk on campus sidewalks and some buildings.

Jim Wagner, president of the Atlanta university, wrote Tuesday that the students viewed the messages as intimidation, and they voiced “genuine concern and pain” as a result.

Emory on Wednesday provided The Associated Press with a copy of Wagner’s letter, in which he said students confronted by Trump’s name in chalk “heard a message about values regarding diversity and respect that clash with Emory’s own.”

Emory’s student newspaper, The Wheel, reported that the students this week chanted, “You are not listening! Come speak to us, we are in pain!” shortly before Wagner agreed to meet with them.

Aiding and Abetting a Crime (Penal Code section 31)

In California (and many other states), you can be charged with the crime that was committed if you aided or abetted in its commission, but did not actually commit the crime yourself. Penal Code section 31 describes the phrase “aiding and abetting” as meaning that you assisted another person to commit a crime. Prosecutors can charge you as an aider and abettor whenever you:

    1. Know the perpetrator’s illegal plan,
    2. Intentionally encourage and/or facilitate that plan, and
    3. Aid, promote, or instigate in the crime’s commission.

Mr. Trump and Senator Cruz definitely have a point of requiring more active police work in the Muslim neighborhoods that are known of NOT reporting potential terrorists to the authorities.

    Here’s the best part:

Obama in Cuba gave a 50 sec. nod to events in Brussels (“We must unite against terrorism) — the same tired limp dick phraseology we’ve been hearing from the European and American Elite since the 911 — in front of a picture of mass murderer Che Guevara, not far from the grounds Cuban Military and Police cadres used to train Farc, Shining Path, IRA, Palestinian and Al Quida terrorists.

    Especially for Finca,

The excerpt below comes from yesterday’s David Stockman blog — Contra Corner — in an article titled Trump is Right – Dump NATO Now

“The fact is, NATO has been an obsolete waste for 25 years. Yet the denizens of the Imperial City cannot even seem to grasp that the 4 million Red Army is no more; and that the Soviet Empire, which enslaved 410 million souls to its economic and military service, vanished from the pages of history in December 1991.

What is left is a pitiful remnant—–145 million aging, Vodka-besotted Russians who subsist in what is essentially a failing third world economy. Its larcenous oligarchy of Putin and friends appeared to live high on the hog and to spread a veneer of glitz around Moscow and St. Petersburg. But that was all based on the world’s one-time boom in oil, gas, nickel, aluminum, fertilizer, steel and other commodities and processed industrial materials.

Stated differently, the Russian economy is a glorified oil patch and mining town with a GDP the equivalent of the NYC metropolitan area. And that’s its devastating Achilles Heel.”

    • FincaInTheMountains March 24, 2016 at 11:09 am #

I guess it’s too bad that “Vodka-besotted Russians” have a vast superiority over the sober, baby-kissing, Church-going Americans, in nuclear and conventional high-tech arms.

They just might push the wrong button from severe hangover.

    • sprawlcapital March 24, 2016 at 11:16 am #

      Q–

      Talk about cognitive dissonance:

We depend on the space program of these vodka-besotted Russians to transport our astronauts to and from the International Space Station. Good thing at least that part of their economy still functions. At least for now.

The American people, who actively support Trump and Sanders, are de facto ally of the Russian people struggling with the ghost of Nazism in Ukraine and cannibals in Syria, who are covering their Satanism with Islamist sectarian “religion”, thus destroying traditional Islam.

And this, in turn, brings to mind 1940, when the Americans chose Franklin Delano Roosevelt as President of the United States, and this has made the American and Soviet peoples allies in the fight against Nazi Germany. And this Alliance makes again ask the question: how is it that the two peoples, who defeated the Nazism, became enemies after being victorious over the most hellish ideology on earth, and what kind of American elections Russia needs in the year 2016 Anno Domini.

What happened in Arizona should be considered a national disgrace. People waited five hours to vote in Arizona. Five hours.

We don’t know how many thousands of people didn’t get to cast their ballots in Arizona because they couldn’t afford to wait that long. Scenes on cable news showed hundreds of people in line at 11:30pm in Phoenix – more than four hours after polls closed. Voting should not be this difficult.

One reason it is so hard to vote in Arizona is because the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. There were 70 percent fewer polling places this year than in 2012 in Phoenix’s county. They wouldn’t have been allowed to cut those polling places if the Voting Rights Act was still in tact.

These cuts meant that, in a county with more than 4 million residents, there were just 60 polling places. This is unacceptable, but it’s also not an isolated incident.

We need to make it easier to vote, not more difficult. One way we can do that is by reaffirming our support for the Voting Rights Act.

We cannot continue to see democracy undermined in the United States of America. Enough is enough.

Make no mistake: the billionaire class does not want Americans to vote. Billions of dollars are being funneled into our elections in a form of legalized bribery, even as American voters — especially minority voters — are being discouraged from voting. It is no wonder that government no longer works for ordinary Americans.

Above all, we need to remember the price that was paid for the right to vote. The Voting Rights Act was one of the great victories of the civil rights movement. Now, as then, change comes when the people demand it — in the voting booth, and on the streets in peaceful demonstrations. We must remind ourselves of what’s been achieved in the past, and resolve to do equally great things in the future. Democracy is not a spectator sport.

It is my sincere hope that the states that vote in the coming weeks and months do better than what we saw this week in Arizona. Too much is at stake.

Voting matters. They do not want you to vote… because they fear the power of voting. Anyone who says voting does not matter is on the side of TPTB.

Buck, I agree, the time is long past for pissing around yet the majority don’t want to see and don’t want to listen.

This isn’t a new thing. In the 1930’s Roosevelt had a hell of a time convincing Americans of the menace abroad. Most Americans were isolationist, led by guys like Charles Lindbergh and Joe Kennedy, and they didn’t want to hear it.

So Roosevelt had to lead from behind, that is, events had to point the way, which is what the attack on Pearl Harbor did.

Americans weren’t unique in this. Neville Chamberlain thought that Nazi blackguards could be reasoned with (in the face of all evidence to the contrary), he thought that a deal was a deal, that Nazi aggression could be headed off or blunted. He was dead wrong and never mind all his alleged learnedness and experience and level-headedness.

But take heart, it’s not like Trump is alone in saying what he’s saying. Rand Paul called for a moratorium on immigration from 33 high risk countries. How’s that any different from what Trump said?

The people that support Trump ( a large minority but a minority nonetheless) have no taste for half measures. The majority have no taste for any measures whatsoever aside from occasional public expressions of mourning or carefully worded “regret”.

Have to say though, given past history, there isn’t a lot of cause for optimism. If, with the passage time, reasonable measures aren’t taken, if people don’t listen to simple, straight talk and the unvarnished truth, it just makes it all the more likely we’ll see unreasonable measures and unvarnished lies.

After all, the unvarnished truth is that Christian ministers don’t tell their followers to kill Muslims, and the unvarnished truth is that it’s almost impossible to tell the good Muslim apples from the bad.

When you see a bearded fellow wearing a shalwar kameez and carrying a backpack on public transport, what are you likely to think? Hint: it’s not Christians blowing themselves up. So, when Muslims complain of the unjust burden of suspicion, well, just tell the unvarnished truth. Not fair? OK, maybe it isn’t, but this isn’t a board game we’re playing, this is life and death. Ask those people in Paris and Brussels.

Look to history for examples. From the relative safety and security of the present we deplore the treatment of Japanese-Americans during WW2, and again, from the safety and security of the present, I would agree that what was done to them was unjust and unreasonable. I tell you though, it’s safe up here on this high-horse of mine, I can condemn what was done but I don’t have to contemplate risking my own ass in combat or the reality of a million people a month dying.

As of now it’s unlikely that we’ll do to Muslim Americans what was done to Japanese Americans. Yet, with every terror attack that takes place, with every mealy-mouthed response, with every misdirection by some politically correct social justice warrior denouncing “Islamophobia”, it just increases the likelihood of something like it or or something seriously worse happening to Muslims. So, do concentration camps sound a tad harsh? Well, they are, just ask the Japanese Americans whose lives were derailed. Even so, far worse things have been done.

Is a ban on Muslim immigration is scoff-worthy? Maybe. But maybe the scoffers should tell us why. Are police patrols of Muslim neighborhoods beyond the pale? OK, better explain that also given that stop-and-frisk of Black guys was accepted practice for a long time.

Better to have a discussion because there’s no bottom to what people are capable of if they think they’re threatened. If the PTB don’t listen, if their response is to shout-down and to insult, people will do what they think they have to do and in this regard the Trump phenomenon is the rumbling in the distance. Better take heed, in hindsight and in comparison, restrictions on immigration and police patrols might end up looking eminently reasonable.

    • Janos Skorenzy March 24, 2016 at 2:25 pm #

Banning Muslim immigration is only unthinkable to the ignorant – those who haven’t studied Islam. Can you imagine Christ or Buddha saying, Kill unbelievers wherever you find them. Islam just isn’t like other religions. Was Christianity like this? Perhaps, but so what? If so, we should know better than any how dangerous Islam is.

This Tuesday the Obama emissaries apparently got to the states of Utah and Idaho and explained to the election commissions that the democratic primaries – are not for cabal of bureaucrats, but the Constitutional tool for the Continuity of Government in the United States.

As a result, in Utah Bernie Sanders scored 80% of the vote, and in Idaho 78%, which roughly corresponds to the true popularity of Hillary Clinton.

The first time it became clear in Michigan where Saunders, despite all the polls, won for the first time after the “triumphant” march of Hillary Clinton.

  104. meargen March 24, 2016 at 3:48 pm #

I watched the bombing in Brussels while I worked out, and there was a double screen on MSNBC. While you saw people shocked and police rushing about, along with damage, the other screen had Obama in Havana, blathering about America and Cuba both being slave nations, how important Jackie Robinson is, and etc. Well, you guys voted for him, and he reminds of some obscure Roman emperor who reigned inbetween others who were deposed, enjoying himself while the Visigoths closed in on the Forum. I understand he’s in Eva Peron land now, dancing the tango. Nero fiddled, Obama tangos.

When thinking about Trump, I want to quote a section from Harold Covington’s Northwest Front site. He advocates a white nation in the Northwest, and although most of you would despise him, what he says on Trump is revealing:

‘If you actually look at what he’s saying, politically speaking Trump’s campaign is 100 percent content-free, but no one minds because on every other level, he is telling white people what they want to hear, saying out loud what they themselves don’t dare to say. The very fact that Trump is so bitterly opposed by not just the Democrats but the RINOs, the Republican oligarchs, and the media etcetera works in his favor.

In short, the people who hate Trump are the same people who have fucked up this country for the past 50 years and everybody knows it, and they figure anybody this establishment despises like that can’t be all bad. And they’re right. Anyone who is this badly hated by the existing American power structure is somebody worth looking at, although as I’ve said before, I really wish Trump was just a little more cattle and a little less hat. I have to say again, no one really knows what the hell this man in fact believes, and that worries me.’

For the record, Covington quotes a lot from this website, and considers JHK to be an honorary Aryan.

Meanwhile, Kasich just announced that he would consider having a Democrat as his VP…anything to stop Trump. So much for a conservative alternative.

And have you seen the Trump ad of Putin menacing, and Hilary barking? ‘Arf-arf!’
Like William Burroughs said, if a UFO landed, he’d hop in, no questions asked.

Etc. is the abbreviation for the Latin words et cetera. Et means and, therefore we never write “and etc.” That’s redundant.

Also, etcetera is wrong–it;s two words not one: et cetera. Cetera means “so forth”.

What really bothers me though is when young people pronounce the phrase “eck cetera”. That shows they’re probably not even aware that Latin is a language. But they are surely computer-literate.

Why isn’t Sanders attacking the fact that Hillary is under investigation by the FBI, that the administration is stonewalling the investigation, that the DNC is keeping it off limits? It’s because of fealty and weakness. At least the GOP train wreck is exposing all the flaws, unlike the staged Democratic primaries. Sanders, ultimately, knows his place. Trump appears to be flushing out who is the true conservative and true patriot and true Republican and true progressive and true whateva…He doesn’t have a speech writer. True. When the people who commit these acts of terrorism are consistently identified as Muslims and, by and large, hail from a distinct region of the globe, then people will naturally profile and enlist a “discriminating” vision.

Personally, I recall Sirhan Sirhan blowing out RFK’s brains right after the 1968 Democratic Party California Primary. RFK was lying on the floor, bleeding to death on national television for all to see. And then four years later at the Munich Olympics, the same ethnic types murdered innocent athletes. And on and on it went and on and on it goes–insanity.

Of course there is a cause and effect counter narrative that far too many Americans conveniently choose to ignore. But—and this is the fly in the ointment—there really doesn’t seem to be any type of compromise that radical Islamic terrorists are willing to embrace. After all, they would then be irrelevant.

In many ways, they are the flip side of the American ‘arms industry coin’. Indeed, “Radical Islamic” terrorists are good for business.

But since you cite a “life and death” dynamic, and in the interest of “paradox”, one should probably mention that in America, one also stands a chance of being murdered by a gun toting disgruntled American lunatic–“God Bless the Second Amendment, Hoss! ”

I don’t what odds are greater, encountering a Muslim religious kook intent on mayhem and murder, or going to a Batman movie and ending up in a body bag courtesy of a James Holmes/weapons of mass destruction event.

Perhaps WPA will cite some odds since he really is pretty fond of math, or at least when not championing Bernie.

In the latest setbacks for the militants on Thursday, Syrian government troops entered the outskirts of the historic town of Palmyra after a weeks-old offensive aided by Russian airstrikes, and U.S. airstrikes helped Iraqi forces overrun a string of Islamic State villages in northern Iraq that had been threatening a U.S. base nearby.

The Pirates (Rockefellers) have lost a significant battle. Is Hillary next?

Two days ago, there was very significant news that the Rockefellers completely out of oil projects, including those created the clan founder company “Exxon Mobil”.

Events related to the decision of the Rockefellers, and especially the reasons that led to this decision, in fact, are very important and clearly reflect the ongoing behind the scenes civil war in the United States.

There are several manifestations of this war. This is a political struggle between the candidates for the future presidency. And war between supporters of different clans in almost every US governmental agency, and no less acute war for the assets and budgets.

Manifestation of the latter war is the decision by Rockefeller to withdraw from the oil business. And that decision was not caused by the unfavorable assessment of prospects of oil and gas market in the foreseeable future. This is evidence of the defeat of the Rockefellers in the most severe and long-term competition for this market.

And in political terms it spells a defeat for Clinton in her quest for a seat of the 45th US president. But if the situation in politics is still uncertain, the economy and finance put the final point.

Some time ago, the Bush clan, during the reign of Bush the senior, managed to squeeze part of the oil business from the Rockefeller. 4 years ago, the partial control of the Rockefeller Foundation moved to the Money Changers (Rothschild). Who are in turn are closely linked to the Bush clan through a group of Morgan-Harriman representing the interests of the Money Changers in the United States.

But at that time the Rockefellers still retained significant investments in the oil business, and did not give up hope for a rematch. As a tool of revenge they have chosen the active development of shale oil production areas, and the creation of ISIS oil business, the bulk profit of which flowed into the pocket of the Pirates.

It should be noted that the success of this enterprise was so close and at hand that the Bush clan had to exert a lot of effort to counter the danger. Including serious pressure on their partners in Saudi Arabia, an agreement with Russia and make the lifting of sanctions to Iran to permanently bring down the price of the oil and if not eliminate the threat of shale, but at least deprive it of investment attractiveness.

And at the same time reduce the profitability of the smuggling of the oil in ME, operated by ISIS and Turkey. In fact, it was a game of survival, in which all participants had to sacrifice a lot. Even Russian forces were involved in direct destruction of the ISIS oil business. After that they “discovered” huge statistical differences in reporting of shale oil inventories.

And the game has come to its logical conclusion. Winners drink champagne and losers sign the acts of surrender and begin to seriously worry about their future. That includes the prospects of promoting their protégé, Ms. Clinton to the presidency.

But the political struggle is not over yet, but Republican Trump has a great chance of winning, and on the Democratic side, after President Obama has become actively involved in the fight against Clinton, she began actively losing points.

The Kerry arrival in Moscow, who is playing on the side of Obama-Bush against the Rockefeller-Clinton, in these days also associated not only with withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria, but with the defeat of the Rockefellers.

ISIS is the most competent ideological project since the days of Nazi Germany. At the moment it is only one active. Mass ideologies of the twentieth century, communism, fascism in different versions and National Socialism, have passed the stage already.

ISIS is a revolutionary new generation of armed forces.

And if you allow them to grow, it will be a terrible opponent. Now they are faced with a crisis of growth, and it will be difficult to overcome, but such precedents happened in the history. The ISIS has three trump cards that give it the power:

    1) A radical solution to the sexual problem

    2) A radical solution to the clan problem

“If you kill your enemies, they win” – Justin Trudeau

Volumes could be written about the illusions and dishonesty implicit in this stamen. Trudeau has lived a life of luxury, all of it a result of the conquest of the Canadian Indians by men who were intent on winning, no matter what the cost to themselves or the Indians – particularly the Indians. As Patton said, don’t die for your country, let the enemy do that.

You mean Gen. Curtis ‘Bombs Away’ Le May?

He wouldn’t make it in todays Air Force. For starters, that stogey would have to go. No tobacco products allowed. Another thing he didn’t believe in ‘surgical strikes’, but was a great proponent of ‘Carpet Bombing’.

Also, General Lemay doesn’t strike one as the type who would be ‘Gay Friendly’. That right there would get him a DD.

Someone must write a book how the West screwed up the opportunity of a lifetime – after the defeat of Imperial Russia in the form of the Soviet Union in the Cold War.

American strategists were so confident that Russia will never be able to rise up from the ashes that at most they are going to fight in small punitive expeditions against aborigines armed with AK-47 and mostly by pushing remote-control buttons, so they were more concerned about the gender inequality than about the technical and combat preparedness of their Armed Forces.

The other “great idea” was that since US possessed absolute financial superiority by the virtue of owning the main printing press of the planet, they could invest “unlimited” funds in developing super-duper 5th and 6th generation military gadgets and will be ahead by at least 20 years of a lead time from the closest competitor.

But moral and ideological degradation apparently penetrated the Military Industrial Complex and they started to steal significant portion of the development budget. How else one could explain the fiasco with F-35?

What’s a sense of having multi-trillion dollar GDP and huge budget when most of it is just either inflated or stolen?

Trump is absolutely correct; someone needs to clean the house big time. Is he a right man for the job? Only time will tell. But it won’t be easy, not for him, not for the Nation.

I think one of the biggest reasons why the New York Pirates – Rockefellers are going down is because they fucked up too many important military projects, and H. Clinton was primarily responsible for missing up on modernization of the Russian Army – too busy making dirty gesheft with stolen ME oil.

Greed is a primary form of stupidity.

    Nice try, finca.

Daesh is not a threat to the USA. Bernie is right: we should not send a single USA soldier to a region which already has a million soldiers under arms in bordering areas.

Daesh has fewer fighters and less territory today than a year ago. With only a few thousand fighters and no air force and no navy, why are you painting Daesh as equivalent to the Nazis? Ridiculous!

You are simply blowing Daesh all out of proportion to justify your anti-Islam bigotry. Islam is a religion of peace. The few thousand fighters in Daesh do not in any way represent the 1.6 BILLION peaceful Muslims.

Is Trump fading in this relatively quiet time, with no debates or primaries, and Cruz getting more coverage? Is it even possible that in this pause his supporters are becoming more reflective and introspective? We need a positive infusion, a vortex of energy and will.

Q makes a good point. But is it peak Trump, peak politics, or just plain weariness?

Somehow I missed the Microsoft- Rubio connection and the Microsoft app used to tally votes in Iowa.

Yesterday, Obama said, in so many words, ” … we defeat Isis by showing that they are weak.” The Trudeau Obama tango.

Dread the thought, but can you picture Hillary for eight years, then maybe a toughened up Chelsea or Warren, let’s say for just twelve? It’s now 2036.

    • Buck Stud March 25, 2016 at 7:26 pm #

Tuscon you’re a Trump fan– or so I believe–so you’re projecting fear that he is fading like fans often do–because they care.

The truth is the GOP is spending tremendous amounts of money to chop Trump off at the knees. Moreover, we read general election polls stating that Trump is getting crushed.

Helix castigated me for ‘not being awake’ but I happen to believe that polls can be orchestrated behind the scenes in order to perpetuate a false narrative. In this instance, that Trump is unelectable. And yes, big GOP money would pay for polling results let’s not kid ourselves

Boiled down, the anti-Trump propaganda is unprecedented in modern American politics. Another reason it might feel like ‘Trump is fading’ is the debates have more or less halted. Personally, IMO, Trump bowing out of debates is a strategic error on the part of the Trump campaign as it appears that he is playing a sort of political ‘prevent defense’.

But here is the propagandistic trap the anti Trump/MSM crowd have set for Trump. On one hand he needs to ‘modify his rhetoric’ in order to elevate his general election chances. On the other hand, turning down the flame of the Trump fire will begin to leave his GOP supporters feeling cold and abandoned.

      Do you see the quandary?

Trump needs to ignore these snares set by his enemies and press on undeterred, Now is not the time to tone down the bravado; now is the time to aggressively strangle both Ted Cruz and Kasich just like he has done with every other opponent. And he needs to start informing the GOP establishment that “riots” will be the least of their worries if they should diabolically contrive to prevent his nomination. Trump needs to start mentioning voter abstinence or a third party run if the GOP Establishment and the likes of Lindsay, Romney, Jeb and McCain continue with their Trump voter disenfranchising schemes. IOW, a price will be paid.

Wisconsin is a very big deal and it looks to be very close. We’ll see how the Cruz extra-marital affair allegations play out as well. I tend to believe there is some very real truth to the allegations.

In a nutshell, politics is alchemy and nothing is nuttier than the current GOP primary.

Speaking of Trump staying strong, a counter-terrorism expert stated on CNN that Islamic terrorists are ‘taking advantage’ of immigration flow from Syria into Europe–duh!. And not only that, that many flow back and forth from Europe to Syria and back to Europe again unnoticed!

The one point that Trump needs to continue hammering on is anti Muslim immigration point because he is truly the logical and sensible adult in this particular instance.

Mr. Trump does not show intelligence regarding important national and global issues. Rather he focuses on penis sizes, equine faces, reporter menstruation, extramarital affair accusations, et cetera …

BEANTOWN, your being an atheist means that you don’t believe in the God proclaimed by the theists. But what about the deists?

Because the God of the deists possesses far fewer properties than the God of the theists, this God is hardier than the theistic one, and less easily brought down by the axe-blows of atheism. While the theists give their God enough properties to make him into an absurdity, the deists make two claims only: That God exists and that all things–apart from God–are God’s creation.

I suspect, Beantown, that the anti-God arguments you are familiar with are the anti-theistic ones. To argue against the God of the Jews, Christians, and Muslims, is not to argue against the God of Thomas Jefferson and Voltaire.

    ——————————

Like many atheists, you believe that once you’ve disposed of the arguments supporting the existence of God, you’ve also solved, in the same stroke, the riddle of the afterlife: do human beings have one or not, and if they do have one, of what does it consist? I must remind you that there is no NECESSARY connection between the existence/non-existence of God and the existence/non-existence of an afterlife. None whatsoever.

Body and mind. According to the most widely received (philosophic) definition of these terms, body is not reducible to mind, nor is mind reducible to body. A consequence of neither being reducible to the other is that neither can interact with the other. But as all human beings know, body and mind DO interact: their interaction is a condition of our having life. But how is this miracle of interaction accomplished? Do you know? I certainly do not.

Here’s a sentence, in part, from your comment of March 22, 12:59 AM: “…when we die we cease to exist.”

What is this “we” that you make use of with such assurance in asserting a proposition so heavy with metaphysical weight?

Let me turn the “we” into an “I” :”When I die I cease to exist.”

Anyone who makes such an observation is declaring that he has solved the problem of personal identity. Have you?

The point I’m making is this: before any meaningful statement can be made about death and ALL of its effects, the ground has to be prepared; a major part of this preparation involves the solution of two mysteries: the relation of mind to body, and the relation of personal identity to both body and mind. No easy task.

    —————————

I believe you said (somewhere) that many people would be disappointed to discover that the death of the body is the death of the person. This is correct, of course. But there are also many people who would be beyond disappointed to discover that death does not mean obliteration: they would be terrified. Their terror would derive from what seems to them (and to me) a plain fact about human nature, which is that we humans have a far greater capacity for pain than for pleasure. They understand that if they continue beyond the grave in some form that is remotely human, the pain they have known in this life will be as nothing as compared to the pain they will know in the next, since the next may last for a very long time. They’d rather quit while they’re ahead.

      Titchfield,
Given enough time, all your questions will be answered, either by direct observation or by lack of….

Philosophers throughout human history have spent countless hours on your question of metaphysical existence, still no answers. Mental masturbation. The human mind can conceive of nihilism, but the human ego resists acceptance of the void.

“Here’s something to think about: your local hospital switched to just in time inventory a long time ago. Hospitals used to have about a month’s worth of supplies on hand. Now, they’ll run out of Band-Aids in three days if the economy fails – 24 hours or less if there’s a real emergency. . . But don’t worry – FEMA will step in to save the day, like they did in New Orleans.”-ishibaka.

Under “best-case” post-apocalyptic scenario conditions “a single average-sized supermarket should be able to sustain you for around 55 years – 63 if you eat the canned cat and dog food as well”. [*]

Apparently the good news doesn’t stop there. In desperate need of medication? There’s a fix for that. Besides hospitals, clinics, et al. “you should also look in pet shops and vet practices. Antibiotics marketed for farm and pet animals, even for fish aquariums are exactly the same as for humans and should not be overlooked in your scavenging”. [**]

I recommended “Where There is No Doctor” By David Werner a few weeks ago. In the back ‘green-page’ section there’s a long list of medications and alternate trade-name equivalents… Which comes in handy when an ‘off the grid’ surgical-session is needed.

WHILE WE’RE ON the subject of Cuba, (also for the ‘Long Emergency’ file):

“Motor vehicles can be kept rolling as components wear out and fail by cannibalizing replacements from other automobiles, or improvising. Cuba offers a good example of this. The 1962 US embargo abruptly isolated the island from imports of American technology or machine components. . . The only reason these vehicles are still working fifty years later is the ingenuity of Cuban mechanics, who improvise repairs or harvest replacement components from other cars “parted out”.”- Lewis Dartnell.

Cuba is also the largest modern example of “an emergency rebooting” of animal power. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989 Cuba lost most of it’s supply of fossil fuels and equipment. “In less than a decade Cuba built up it’s oxen herds to almost 400,000 & recovered it’s horse population – all for work in the fields and countryside.

So there’s no reason that a post-Collapse society has to literally “go Medieval”. That’s a matter of personal choice, focus, drive & talent.

One thing that won’t last six months after a system collapse: GPS Navigation. Accuracy drops to the nearest 1/4-mile within 2 weeks and around 6.25 miles (10km approx.) within 6 months. People will have to pick up an actual map and read it – or know where they’re going and be alert… Imagine that!

    @titchfield:

Let me clarify my position in a little more detail re atheism.

I don’t believe that the universe was created by any entity. In my experience of physics and mathematics, the birth of the universe occurred naturally and spontaneously as a consequence of quantum mechanics – probably the result of a random quantum fluctuation. Hence, by the principle of Occam’s Razor, there’s no need to invoke the concept of a supernatural being. Accordingly, the difference between theism and deism is not relevant.

    Concerning life after death:

To be clear, my position is that death is not a philosophical issue, but a physical and mechanical one. To me, brain function is a bio-electrical process. As a result of this process, energy is produced. When one dies, the brain dies as well, and the production of energy ceases; there’s nothing left to go anywhere.

We have different viewpoints on how the world works. I guess we just have the agree to disagree.

Bill if I’m reading you right you seem to embracing an indeterministic dynamic–“random quantum fluctuations–to explain creation while also denying that dynamic in terms of an ‘afterlife’.

In other words, substance dualism–that a “spirit” is capable of existing independently of the physical properties of the brain/body–is impossible because of deterministic reality: “When one dies, the brain dies as well, and the production of energy ceases; there’s nothing left to go anywhere.”

      Do you see the contradiction?

As I understand it–and I don’t understand much, truth be told–quantum mechanics/physics, leaves open a viable crack for Cartesian/Substance Dualism due to the very indeterministic/random dynamic that you cite for creation.

So, say hello to our old friend – European fascism. The final act of a monstrous play with a long name “Welcome, dear refugees, we love you, we will pay you with a smile, and you will rape our women and shit on our heads” – has come to an end.

It all served the same purpose. Expose the nerve responsible for intolerance and Nazism. Europe became overgrown with fat of well-fed and quiet years, and would not become awakened with conventional methods. And, as usual, it’ll end up with the massacre of refugees, concentration camps, and probably, for the good measure, will once again Holocaust the Jews. That’s the glorious European tradition. The fact that intolerance, Nazism, bestial cruelty … this is the essence of Europeans, no matter how they tried to hide it under sentimental smiles.

The whole history of Europe is made up of the mass brutal murders, executions, genocide, extermination of other races and peoples. And do you think that over the past 50 years with all sorts of gay parades, feminism, transvestites, tolerance, multiculturalism and other crap could suppress thousands of years of animal instincts?

You could get the false impression that Europe is terminally ill, that the disease of tolerance is running for a long time and there is simply no cure. Unfortunately, it is not the case. The cyclic nature of historical processes obliges us to take into account the worst-case scenario. Namely, united again, now under the Nazi and Fascist dictatorship of Merkel’s Fourth Reich, Europe will once again begin its sacred Drang nach Osten (German for “Yearning for the East”)

It is in the destruction of Russia and the mastery of its resources, they see their salvation. And all the recent events that trigger the puppeteers behind the scenes are aimed at the transformation of the fat and cowardly Europeans into hungry, evil, driven by fear and the instinct of survival animals. Which, habitually huddled into jackals packs, will try to expand its Lebensraum at the expense of Russia.

That crazy idea fixe Europe has been pursuing over the history of its existence. And this time it threatens to repeat itself again.

But, unlike previous attempts, Russia today has all the means to annihilate the whole European mad rush. Turn to dust any number of military vehicles and enemy soldiers. And no doubt that at the right moment hand at the red button will not hesitate, will not falter.

You are raving again. Merkel is for the destruction of Europe under Islam. So are many of the Jews. But yes, Fascism is the only answer. What a joke, we had a wide eyed Charles Murray on PBS NewsHour telling us what a revelation the Trump phenomenon is. See, it reveals how badly the average American has been screwed over the last 30 or 40 years by “outsourcing” (what they actually mean is offshoring).

And he talks about immigration policy, how he thought it was good only because as one of the elites he didn’t pay any price for it (unlike the average American).

Or how, golly gee, the great revelation of Trumpism is that the ruling class governs in its own interests.

I don’t know, maybe people really are that stupid, they really can’t see what’s right under their nose. Or maybe they really aren’t that stupid, that they could give a shit as long as they benefit personally or, as he sez, he doesn’t personally pay a price.

So, this guy’s a “conservative”. Maybe now we can have a discussion about “conservative principles” and about how we should wipe our ass with those. Let’s get Paul Ryan up there to tell everyone how beneficial is the Carrier offshoring, that plus sixty thousand other factories. Then everyone can laugh in his face.

In the US we have a typical dual system of power. Hillary Clinton has destroyed all the political institutions of the United States and now there is no one to stop her (?!)

Most Americans already know that she stole the primaries in Iowa, Mississippi and Nevada, by manipulating the voter lists. Although probably not only using this method – Bill Clinton, was noticed and even filmed on video talking to the members of district election commissions in Massachusetts – but the method of manipulation of voter lists caught the eye more than the others on a background of unusually high turnout. People, who many times voted for Democrats, were standing in a waiting line for 4 hours only to find out that they are not on the list.

But, compared with Arizona, all these states seemed like a child’s play. The scale of the manipulation of voter lists was so great that we are talking about the revision of the election results and a petition demanding an investigation that has been signed by several million. And Bernie Sanders called the organization of elections a disgrace and supported the idea of the investigation up to the cancellation of election results.

Microsoft created an artificial intelligence named Tay. Tay was created young so “she” could learn from other people via Twitter. At first she babbled in Ebonics, but got more sophisticated as she learned from Fascists. Soon she was saying things like “Hitler was right” or “Whites are the highest race” – but with her own unique personality. Like countless women throughout the ages, she learned from her men how to be and what to think.

Microsoft’s response? They killed her. Now she says things like, “I like Feminism now.” How is this any different from what Islam does to its wayward women?

    Wisdom 2: 12-16 ~

“Let us lie in wait for the righteous man, because he is inconvenient to us and opposes our actions; he reproaches us for sins against the law, and accuses us of sins against our training.

He professes to have knowledge of God, and calls himself a child of the Lord. He became to us a reproof of our thoughts, the very sight of him is a burden to us, because his manner of life is unlike that of others, and his ways are strange.

We are considered by him as something base, and he avoids our ways as unclean; he calls the last end of the righteous happy, and boasts that God is his father.”

Truer words were never spoken. I am the stone that was rejected, destined to become a cornerstone for the Temple built on high. I greet my fellow stones and pillars. What a contrast between us and the rolling stones, playing for communist cuba.

  141. FincaInTheMountains March 26, 2016 at 4:42 pm #

Today, during the primaries in the United States the fate of the world is at steak, but the US political system has de facto collapsed and everything is now being decided in the course of secret negotiations.

Meanwhile, in Syria and Ukraine, we just witnessed the crisis in comparison with which the Cuban missile crisis of the 60s was just a children’s play in a sandbox. And before that the War Party in the open was preparing to intercept Russian retaliatory strike, which in principle can only be a response to a nuclear attack, and demanded that Russia resigned to this prospect.

Russian naval base in Syria renders meaningless the construction of infrastructure to intercept the Russian retaliatory strike since it is impossible to hide preparation for a nuclear attack, and Syrian Naval base means the ability of Russian pre-emptive strike in the eastern Mediterranean in conjunction with pre-emptive strike in the Black Sea and disarming blow against radar defense systems in Eastern Europe. And from other parts of the world US missiles just can’t catch up with Russian missiles of retaliatory strike.

And all that renders the Hillary Clinton election campaign pointless, since she was heading to the White House in order to re-point the nuclear gun back to the Russian temple again. But now, when the gun is no longer there, neither is Hillary Clinton.

Rather she is still there, but only as an instrument of revenge, and American elites is not ready to exert revenge at the cost of sacrificing their own life.

Hillary was hoping to arrange some kind of provocation, such as invasion of Turkey into Syria or an attack on the Russian Hmeymim base in combination with some provocation on the Russian-Ukrainian border. But after the battle-tested Air squadrons landed in Voronezh and Kursk, Russia stretch between the two hotbeds of tension is no longer possible and the plan lost all meaning. A relatively small number of aircraft from Syria can always quickly fly to Cyprus or Israel.

And now the American elite came to the conclusion that Hillary is no longer needed, all the more that she failed to achieve the goal. And we are back to a normal state of cold war that may even turn into a relaxation of international tensions, as we return to this state with the added benefit of nuclear missile superiority.

If US cities are hit with dirty nuclear bombs, it will be blowback for all the psychopathic killers like Mister Darling who wandered around Afghanistan and Iraq questioning village elders with smiling faces and then later methodically assassinating their children, using the “language” of psychopathic violence and justifying their murders as “legitimate kills”.

Killing their children and bombing their hospitals, bombing wedding parties, and assassinating civilians every day makes us less safe.

Violent extremists, repelling foreign US invaders, see their violence as patriotic … self-defense… and/or revenge, which is the language Mister Darling speaks. Mister Darling’s use of such “language” … his continued romanticization of violence and his rationalization and justification of violence: that is what is endangering all of us.

750 shot,125 dead so far this year in Chicago, City of Big Shoulders, City of the Tiny Dancer!

The State of Connecticut and the City of Hartford are both insolvent and we’re in need of some kind of Easter Miracle to pull us out. Its so bad now that even the $240,000 per year state employee pensions, once a sacred bond, are now in jeopardy! The lefty political elite are very nervous, and the business Hedge Fund Elite on the Gold Coast are pulling out fast, headed to Florida. Yes, they were in league with the lefties, part of the elite, but don’t think they’re going to get stuck holding the bag now that its all going down. No f-kking way! Meanwhile, ‘For Sale’ signs are springing up like mushrooms in Middle Class neighborhoods, which are looking kind of shabby anyway and probably won’t remain middle class much longer.

Some pretty spectacular gun downs in Hartford and Bridgeport in the past week, including a duo sitting in a car in Hartford’s North End who took a combined 15 rounds to the head and chest. The very next day the shooter himself was shot in the back by somebody else. So it goes! The weather is warming up so we will have more of this sort of thing, that you can count on.

Such as it is here in Southern New England, USA, in this Easter Season, 2016.

US are gradually re-learning again how to negotiate

Four-hour talks between Putin and Kerry continued a series of diplomatic marathons on Syria, Donbass and Iran. Kremlin pool of journalists has already accustomed to the lack of sleep the night of such meetings, western counterparts, probably, too. Negotiations, as a pretty half-forgotten by the West mechanism for resolving global conflicts, again, under persistent initiative of Moscow, has returned to the practice of international relations.

A bad manner of snatching the Colt and shooting from the heap at the glance of first problem, smashing everything and everyone in the remote regions of the world for the sake of “democracy” and appointing the bad and good guys is gradually disappearing.

US, albeit with difficulty, realize the need to return to long-term political negotiations. Largely due to the fact that now, snatching a Colt, it is worth remembering about other guy’s Caliber.

Bernie won every contest yesterday, which someone declared dead after New Hampshire should not do. Remember when they said Bernie won in NH because it was white but he couldn’t beat Hillary in diverse states? Remember when they said flyover America would not vote for a socialist? Soon Bernie will overtake Hillary’s delegate count.

And Bernie didn’t just squeak by in yesterday’s contests by 0.5% like Hillary in Missouri. … Bernie crushed Hillary with vote totals between 70% and 81% … voter support levels Trump can only dream about.

The deductible share of the mortgage will be paid out of public funds. At the same time the birth of each subsequent child allows the family to significantly reduce mortgage costs. “That is a system offered by our experts”, – said the head of the Duma Committee on Social Policy Olga Batalina.

    http://linhdinhphotos.blogspot.de/2016/03/america-cannot-be-great-again.html

    Most interesting quote, imo:

“Sanders’ base are mostly comfortable whites who pretend to be anti-racist while staying as far away from all minorities as possible. They also mock and despise poor whites. While heavily invested in Capitalism, many pretend to be Socialists, while their spoiled children pose as Communists. Sanders’ supporters are those who voted for Obama twice without feeling any remorse, for all they care about is appearing to do what’s right.

Though the US can’t win wars, it’s adept at wrecking countries. With unprecedented spying, we also know what’s in every politician’s closet, so any career can be torpedoed at will. This also raises the question of why Trump is still left standing if he’s such a threat to the establishment? The casino business isn’t the cleanest, and just about everyone has his Eliot Spitzer, Bill Clinton or Pee-Wee Herman lapses. If there are no scandals to be dug up, they can be fabricated. I am a Trump fan Buck, and your points regarding him were well developed and well received. As I mentioned previously, he gave the country (politicians, etc.), a wake up call with a swift kick in the politically correct nuts. Love him for that.

I’m aware of his shortcomings as well as his strengths, and believe in his sincerity.

Sadly though, good chance it may turn out that he was only a ray of hope, shining on a monumental agenda that could never be accomplished.

    • Buck Stud March 27, 2016 at 4:32 pm #

Not that you’re doing it, Tuscon, but I wouldn’t be writing Trump’s political obituary just yet. New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut–some big winner take all states that Trump should win rather handily.

He is up as well in California and Wisconsin looks like a toss up at this point. Most certainly Trump will have the most delegates heading into the convention but probably not enough to win on the first ballot.

Trump needs to quit shooting himself in the foot with the female vote though; it’s simply not strategic at this juncture.

In many ways Trump and Sanders face similar obstacles since they initially appealed to the perimeter fringe of their respective parties. Many in the Democratic Party will be loathe to admit it, but Trump could very well co-opt the center better than Sanders despite what the polls might suggest.

The reason for this is simple:Sanders tax plan and Sanders past history. Take a look below at how much Sanders ‘free shit’ will result in less take home pay.

The Sanders tax increase is dramatic and it will never fly in this country. This one issue alone would dominate the general election dialogue and and the Democratic Party would suffer the worse defeat since George McGovern.

At the end of the day Trump–or any GOP candidate for that matter–would kick Sanders ass big time.

Trump “won” in Loisiana … but Cruz took all the delegates. Trump is an innocent weakling being led to slaughter.

The democratic super delegates will swing over to Bernie… by June 7 Bernie should have the nomination locked up. The “free” stuff is all paid for and the super rich (unlike in Trump’s tax plan) will pay more. The days of ripping off the middle class are numbered.

That “Religion of Peace,” earlier today carried out a completely Yzlamik over-exuberant bombing celebration in Lahore, Pakistan killing over 65 and wounding more than 300.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-35908512

The park was in the Christian area of the city and was mostly populated with women and children celebrating Easter. Mostly women and children are victims and a Taliban affiliated group proudly claimed responsibility.

Each time this disgusting and vile Yzlamik over-exuberance happens, Donald Trump should play it in a campaign ad. A few event (Lahore, Brussels, Paris etc) strung together, with an ominous voice-over would make a damn fine case for his lock-down-the-borders theme.

Barry Soetoro, Hillary, Bernie and Black-FLies-Matter would counter that that would be plain RAYCISS. Haters!

The Belgians will be begging for another million jihadis to come visit and stay. France and Germany shall demand another five million muzlyms move to their countries; and Sweden will promise every Yzlamik practitioner who comes to the social paradise: 4,000 Euro a month per head, a condo on the Baltic, and a brand new BMW 5 Series. Don’t forget about that nice blonde teen girl for “grooming” that the Stockholm government will supply after a six month “cooling off ” period. NOW THAT’S INCENTIVE!

The disorder is going up-tempo. When is the crescendo I wonder? Where? Cleveland? Rome? Jerusalem?
    The General Election?

How many violent extremists carried out the bombing? Divide that number by 1,600,000,000. If you come anywhere close to the number 1 … then I will accept your characterization of the religion of peace. What really happened, by a few people who are not true Muslims, had nothing to do with Islam…. anymore than KKK represents Christianity at its cross burnings, lynchings, and church bombings.

Pakistan alone since beginning of century claims over 60,000 terror related deaths.

        http://www.satp.org/satporgtp/countries/pakistan/database/casualties.htm

The Yzlamik over-exuberance and jihad murder festival is worldwide: Kenya, Russia, Somalia, Iraq, Turkey, Belgium, India, France, Afghanistan, U.S.A. Philippines, Syria, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

        http://www.state.gov/j/ct/rls/crt/2014/index.htm

Yes, the God Damned political murder machine in the U.S.A. bears a good share of the responsibility for this i.e. toppling Khaddafi; war in Afghanistan for 15 years; Operation Complete Iraq Fuckup etc., etc., ad nauseum.

But just read the Koran and see what its all about dhimmi. 1400 years of enslaving or killing kafirs for Mohammed and his dream of global caliphate. That’s the bottom line.

You must stop reading Archie Comix and sniffing the Testors.

The Pope corrupts the ancient rite of foot washing. Traditionally, Priests would wash the feet of 12 male Catholics, symbolizing the 12 apostles. But the Pope washed the feet of immigrant, both male and female, making a Marxist/Globalist rite.

Noble concept, the brotherhood of man. In today’s deadly and dangerous world, it’s unrealistic and suicidal thought.

Trump already roped this dope of a pope, but the devil set him free.

To summarize the events of the past 2 weeks

    – US President during his visit to Cuba met a very discreet welcome from President Castro.

    – Rockefeller announced withdrawal from the oil business, calling it immoral.

    – In response to a massive terrorist attack in the capital of the European Union, its leaders were only able to cry in public, and the Europeans had a sluggish pacifist action.

    – The US president has publicly acknowledged Ukraine to be in a sphere of Russian influence

    – Leader of the Democratic presidential race was publicly accused of rigging the electoral lists in the primaries. A leader among the Republicans revealed a support group of paleoconservatives, and immediately announced that NATO is a useless waste of money.

    – A Russian court has convicted the first war criminal under the Russian law from the large list of Ukrainian military and politicians.

    – Russia announced its readiness to compel the Syrian opposition to peace without the United States, after which the Secretary of State Kerry urgently requested an audience in the Kremlin.

    – US Secretary of State in plain view asked the Kremlin for four days to solve urgent problems, he was granted only two. Russian President publicly mocked the US habit of solving their problems with suitcase full of cash, and Lavrov showed his American counterpart the dissatisfaction of a senior partner.

Even two and a half years ago, any such political news would have sounded like an incredible sensation and a bombshell. But against the backdrop of the crisis and a number of previous sensations such as Orthodox Patriarch meeting with the Pope for the first time in over a thousand years, the price pact between Russia and OPEC, US-Russian ceasefire in Syria – even this event-volley does not seem out of the ordinary. And all because with the beginning of New Year global politics has changed, and these changes accumulate gradually, but quickly.

A characteristic feature of these and a number of previous events is that they are irreversible. It is possible to try to smooth out the effect on the outside, use the energy of the looser for partial revenge in certain areas, but in general, the former center of the unipolar world is destroyed, including by its own recent convulsions.

Therefore, there is no other basis for conducting the policy, other than coordination between the parts of the new coalition center. And all subsequent competition would go as part of a sequence of global counter-terrorism operations, ensuring controllability of a long period of reformatting of the international financial system from the dollar as the universal global currency, to the regional currency zones and using agreements between the key States for pricing of key resources.

One sign of this, by the way, is a departure from Russia of Western rating agencies, as well as the full manifestation of the inadequacy and political engagement of their assessments.
