Ho ho ho! It’s that time of year again. Here’s JHK’s holiday classic: A Christmas Orphan.

11-year-old Jeff Greenaway hears his mom and dad argue one night after an office Christmas party. He infers from their garbled squabble that he is an orphan, found in a willow basket on the welcome mat outside their New York apartment. Thinking now that his parents are imposters, he steals away to Grand Central Station and buys a train ticket to Drakesville, Vermont, where he intends to start life all over again.

Cue the corn pone Nazis. Enter, stage left. Well, what did you expect?

With the various authorities in this culture incessantly applying “white privilege” noogies to the public’s skull, sooner or later they were sure to provoke a lizard-brain response from the more limbic-oriented low orders of honkeydom. Of course, you couldn’t stage-manage a more stupidly arrant provocative act in the State of Virginia, guaranteed to bring out the raging yahoos, than threatening to remove a statue of Robert E. Lee.

There’s a depressingly tragic overtone to this whole affair that suggests the arc of history itself is driving this story — a dark animus in the national soul struggling to resolve its contradictions. And the Charlottesville incident, which left a woman dead and many others badly injured from a car-ramming, has the flavor of a “first shot” in a new civil war.

The echo civil rights campaign of the moment — a strange brew of Black Lives Matter, “Antifa” (anti-fascist), latest-wave feminism, illegal immigrant sanctuary politics, and LGBTQQ agitation — emanates from the college campuses and creeps through the culture-at-large like a miasma, poisoning group against group, in an orgy of victimization claims of the sort that inevitably lead to violence. This is how tribal and religious wars start in primitive societies.

There is also a funk of phoniness about this campaign that should alert the higher centers of judgment in the brain. The Michael Brown killing in Ferguson, MO, that kicked off the BLM movement was never a convincing case of injustice, but has been widely regarded as if it was, despite state and federal inquiries (under Obama’s DOJ), that concluded otherwise. The figment of “white privilege” is not responsible for the extraordinary black-on-black homicide rates in Chicago and Baltimore or the black teen flash mobs in malls around the country. What is suspiciously at the bottom of it all is the spectacular failure of the original civil rights campaign of the 1960s to alter the structures of poverty in black America, as well as the grinding guilt among white Democratic Progressives over the failures of their own well-intentioned policies — converted perversely into racial self-flagellation.

The latest iteration of feminism comes out of campuses that have been largely taken over by female Boomer pedagogues, especially the non-STEM departments, and is now fait accompli, so that the grievances still pouring out seem manufactured and hysterical. It also has a strong odor of simple misandry, and the whole package of ideology is wrapped in impenetrable grad school jargon designed to give it an intellectual sheen that is unearned and dishonest. The grim fact is that sooner or later even some intelligent men might notice this, and get pissed off about it.

The “Antifa” movement would be funny if it wasn’t itself prone to violence, since it espouses exactly the same kind of despotism against free thought that it pretends to fight against. It wants to shut down and stamp out debate in the public arena and trample over principles that make it uncomfortable, for instance, the First Amendment asserting the right to free speech. It makes a mockery of the battle cry for “diversity” (diversity only for Antifa-approved ideas). That so many current college students subscribe to the movement ought to make thoughtful people very uneasy about the politics of the coming generation. In their black battle garb and masks, they resemble the very fascist mobs of the 1930s that the name “Antifa” supposedly evokes as its enemy.

The illegal immigrant sanctuary movement is just plain insane, starting with the refusal by officials to even make a distinction between citizens and non-citizens. There is every reason to think that mayors of “sanctuary cities” and administrators on “sanctuary campuses” should be prosecuted under federal law. It has reached such a pitch in California, where state college deans are shepherding “undocumented” students into special programs, that they are sure to provoke the cutoff of funds and perhaps the destruction of their own institutions. The movement is the very essence of lawlessness and a disgrace to the supposedly thinking class.

The LGBTQQ movement, an offshoot of Feminism 3.0, seeks to erase biology itself as applied to human mammalian sexuality, at the same time that it wants to create new special social and political entitlements — based on various categories of sexual desire that they insist are biologically-driven, such as the urge of a man to equip himself via surgery to behave like a woman. The movement has now gone so far as to try to shame people who place themselves in the original biological categories (“cis-gender,” another grad school metaphysical jargon clot), and especially heterosexual men. Everybody else gets brownie points for being “cutting edge.” One really has to wonder how long this nonsense goes on before it provokes a reaction among the biology-literate.

If we’re entering a new civil war, don’t make the mistake of thinking that it is the product solely of extreme right-wing yahooism. These Nazi and KKK bozos are rising up because the thinking-enabled people of the center have been too cowardly to stand up against the rising tide of idiocy festering at both ends of the spectrum, and particularly on the Left with its direct wiring to the policy-making centers of American life, dictating how people must think and act, and what they should care about.

What we can’t really tell yet is whether these battles will remain joined and even escalate after the financial clusterfuck that the nation is sleepwalking into, or if the financial crisis will overwhelm them like a tsunami and leave all the stupid, tattered battle flags washed up on a lonely beach.

And let’s not forget that one of the litmus tests of the so-called “Progressives” and the left is to be anti-Israel and pro anything Muslim. It’s ironic given that the only country in the Middle East that doesn’t discriminate against women, kill gays etc. is Israel, but that’s the one they choose to demonize. I don’t think the Feminist queer sorts would fare too well in most(or any) Arab countries. Makes no sense to me but there you have it.

    • ladros August 14, 2017 at 9:44 am #

Totally agree, very good point. Also Israel has the best technology with regard to agriculture, water usage and growing things in the desert…

I was once a die-hard liberal but it was oldschool values like hard work, no war, pro environment. I was kicked out of the democrat party by all the man-hating, ‘white privilege’. It is unfortunate that no one espouses these views any longer.

          FallenHero,
Oh, a huge majority of us working-class mutts espouse just those “oldschool” views (at least ’round these parts), it’s just that we aren’t in positions of wealth and power.

Wrong. Old fashioned Whites were for their People, not just their individual selves or amorphous “community”. Having a People is part of being a viable, happy individual. And being able to advocate for your People is an individual Right – or should be.

You are against all of the above.

As is usual, vladdie knows and talks shit. (And we all knew what kind of poo he’d be flinging as soon as he got on shift.)

    • Zoltar August 14, 2017 at 9:58 am #

While identifying the bullshit and villainy rampant on both ends of the political spectrum these days, let us not pretend that Israel qualifies as “good guys.” It is a despicable little theocracy, continuing to impose a brutal and vicious apartheid that would be shocking even if it weren’t for the irony of the Jews having suffered similar treatment at the hands of the Germans not so long ago.
Add to that the immeasurable damage that AIPAC has done to this nation in terms of foreign policy and Middle East relations. America has no worse “friend” than Israel.

      • Mountain gal August 14, 2017 at 10:20 am #

You’re entitled to your opinion, however misguided it may be. Israel has it’s issues and has put off for far too long dealing with some major problems as there are no good alternatives. I fear that you’ve drank the kool-aid though and have been mainlining your Israel “news” from our liberal controlled MSM. Given the locale and their neighbors, they are up against far more than any of us in the cushy US have to confront, with an ocean between us and those who would harm us.

        • hmuller August 14, 2017 at 10:34 am #

The MSM I’ve seen all these years has been pretty darn supportive of Israel. Maybe we live in parallel universes, Mountain gal. LOL

The problem is that there’s no way to be an occupying power over a couple million violent, angry people without being dragged down into committing cruel and violent actions. One atrocity leads to another and both sides argue about ‘who started it’ like kinder garden children.

I lament the death of the Jewish ethical and wisdom tradition, killed by Israel’s perceived need to exercise power over another people.

          • Zoltar August 14, 2017 at 11:06 am #

Well put, H. Mountain Gal is delusional in supposing that Israel has not benefited from enormously favorable treatment by an American press which it has long influenced to the detri
            ment of objective reportage.

Absolutely. Parallel universes. It never ceases to surprise me that anyone could accuse the Left of being anti-Israel with a straight face.

In that alternate universe, apparently President Obama never called for unity like Trump did during a national crisis:

beantownbill, why is Israel’s survival by any means necessary the whole ball game? I thought ZEN meditators cared about justice (not “Just Us”) in the world. Or does Chosen People privilege prevail over all else?

          • aibohphobia August 14, 2017 at 5:26 pm #

The real irony and tragedy with Israel is that Israeli Jewish people are indistinguishable, biologically, from Palestinians. In terms of genetic markers of heredity, the Palestinians are the other 11 ‘lost tribes of Israel.’

Further, Palestinians are despised and mistreated throughout the Arab world–They only get support from other Arab nations so that they can destroy their own people going after Israel.

If Israel (or Palestinians for that matter) are to survive, their only hope is to realize that they have more in common with each other than with the B*st*rds that surround them or manipulative allies, and come up with some way to live together.

            Seems very unlikely..

“It’s ironic given that the only country in the Middle East that doesn’t discriminate against women, kill gays etc. is Israel”

I don’t recall them killing gays in Lebanon. Now, “discriminate against women” requires some definition. There are tribes in Israel and Lebanon that restrict the choices for their women, but it’s not law. Perhaps you mean there’s no law against those tribes doing that?

Quibbles aside, I don’t see too many Arab Muslim citizens of Israel departing for Muslim-majority lands. Watch what people DO, not what they SAY.

          The answer is “no”.

          en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marriage_in_Israel

When I visited Israel about 5 years ago, my guide explained that there is a large tourist trade with Crete where Jews and Goim (which in many cases are Jews that are not as orthodox as others) are married. Israel recognizes marriages from foreign countries and people exploit that loop hole.

I don’t see the poor, besieged Palestinians getting into boats and pouring into Europe, either.
That situation (Gaza) reminds me of the common situation of small siblings fighting, with the older kid swinging his fists and yelling “I’m not doing anything!” while the smaller kid just has to walk right into it.

        • SvrzoH August 16, 2017 at 1:03 am #

You would love to see them sailing away in dinghies ? Why ?

The movie ‘Inglorious bastards’, shows what the Jews would have loved to do to ‘them’ after all lines of oppression were crossed. Now they get angry if a few, mostly rocks, are being hurled in their direction, and we all know the response.
Your ‘siblings fighting’ analogy, or, as presented in the media, some kind of temporary misunderstanding between two parties and where oppressed one is a ‘trouble maker’ is an insult to true suffering and wrecked lives of Palestinians.
It requires a special mental gymnastics for Mountain gal above to create a rainbow picture of a of a State which would not last two minutes without massive US backing.
To a cry: ‘We did not have our own State’ the World never asked a question: ‘Why didn’t you ?’. Every, even the tinniest
nation carved their own borders without use of other nations might (OK, maybe Kosovo Albanians are exception) and soldiers that you despise (Guy who pronounces word ‘world’ as a ‘v-r-l-d’ was clear on that).

        Dr Tom,
Unless I’m mistaken, Syria’s Basher Al-Assad doesn’t go around looking to kill gays either. The same cannot be said for those he is valiantly fighting – the ISIS/Al Qaeda head choppers who have been given billions of our hard earned tax dollars so that they can overturn one of the last remaining secular governments in the Mideast, and turn Syria into another radical Jihadi hell hole.

    • uslabor August 14, 2017 at 11:06 am #

So much for your litmus test. At the risk of being labeled a “progressive” (oh, the horror) I am not anti Israel or pro -anything-Muslim. I am, however, anti -Zionist, of which JHK seems to be a card carrying member. Israel may not kill gays, but they do kill as many Palestinian women and children as they please, with USA blessings and financing. Israel continues to build settlements where they are not supposed to and so continues the theft of Palestine from it’s indigent people..

As for the Muslim world discriminating against women and gays, that sounds suspiciously feminist and ,dare I say, LGBTQQ.

You’re not a feminist, are you?

      • Beryl of Oyl August 14, 2017 at 11:33 am #

You don’t make any sense, JHK used the term feminist several times, and then you pose a silly question like tat.

          • Beryl of Oyl August 14, 2017 at 12:13 pm #

It is no longer a feminist position that the Muslim world discriminates against women.
Witness Gloria and the abominable Linda Sarsour at a ‘Women’s March’. Witness the bastardization of the iconic HOPE poster, into a woman with the American flag used as a headrag, a symbol of oppression.
As I’ve said, Gloria and Hillary are just fine with it.

          • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 1:23 pm #

Feminists have betrayed themselves just like everyone else has (Labor, Environmentalists, Christians, etc) – all to have a seat at the Table of Power.

She’s right: of the main organizers of the Women’s March is a Jihadi infiltrator. They just don’t care.

        • GhostOfHam August 14, 2017 at 3:07 pm #

          And Ms. Steinem was C.I.A.
          See how that feminism works?

      • sophia August 14, 2017 at 5:17 pm #

Maybe it isn’t feminist. Maybe being stoned for adultery or even being killed by your father and brothers without trial for coming home late at night or being whipped in the street for uncovering your head isn’t a great way to live.

        • sophia August 14, 2017 at 5:20 pm #

Yeah, some of the above commentary shows that in many ways feminism was always about rich white women whose concerns were never those of the middle or working classes.

      • fairguy August 14, 2017 at 6:42 pm #

Ironic that a blog post on the supposed rise of modern day fascism and the failure of critical thinking on both ends of the political spectrum, elicits knee-jerk and partisan talkbalk on the topic of Israel’s role in the world.

Here, a prime example of the “I’m not anti-israeli, just anti-Zionist” meme that the prog-left spouts. It’s supposed to mean, I’m not an extremist right wing corn pone anti-semitic fascist, no – I’m a kind, progressive, humanistic person who sides with the global oppressed, and in this case the Palestinians in the Israeli occupied territories. But me the Israeli thinks, here is just another anti-semite in sheep’s clothing, selecting Israel to be his whipping boy for all matters wrong in today’s world. Proof, the number of anti-Israeli UN resolutions vs anti-any other oppressor.

On the other hand, the knee-jerk defenders of Israel’s modern day policy of settlement expansion at the expense of – not just the Arab minority – but also the environment and the chances of peace.

In summary, to conduct an intelligent discussion on the topic of Israel, one must be aware of a few realities, and approach it with an open mind. The realities are:

        – Israel’s existence and political system are geared more after the European nation-state model, and the English parliamentary system, than that of the USA. By design, it is a nation of the Jews (not a religious state but a national one) which grants equality to all other nationalities. Like it or not, that is its design.

        – It is in many respects, a true democracy which has evolved to not persecute gay, LGBT and religious minorities. The first two in that list are fairly recent developments, but are there to stay. The IDF happily has gays and trans individuals in combat units. Israel has not lost its mind in that respect and understands that intellectual and cyber capabilities – not sexual orientation – are what matter most in the realm of modern defense.

        – To my mind, it has unfortunately chosen a corrupt and nepotistic leader (Mr. Netanyahu) who will soon be brought down by his avarice. In a wider spectrum, it has mistakenly bowed to the religious nationalistic right in its policies since his election. This is hopefully a temporary phenomenon which may shift with the next election. No, you won’t see the Israeli Labor pary rulng any time soon, but you may see a coalition of pragmatist forces come together.

So, hold the hatred and keep the discussion real is what I ask.

Israel continues to build settlements where they are not supposed to and so continues the theft of Palestine from it’s indigent people. – uslabor

        ============

Yes, the Palestinian people are definitely indigent, meaning poor and needy however I believe what you meant to say was ‘indigenous people.’

Indigenous people are people defined in international or national legislation as having a set of specific rights based on their historical ties to a particular territory, and their cultural or historical distinctiveness from other populations that are often politically dominant.

Sorry, I missed the connection between today’s post and Israel, other than another opportunity to run hasbara for Israel.
Be that as it may, Israel is “the only country in the Middle East that doesn’t discriminate against women,” err, except in public transportation as Orthodox Jews demand to have women move over to the back of the bus? Or in the case of Ethiopian women of the Aliyah? or Israeli Arab women? Or Palestinian women and little girls fried under a heavy rain of white phosphorus, every time the IDF “mows the lawn”? If reacting to facts on the ground is “demonizing” Israel then so be it. Since you and many others are fond of touting the uniqueness of Israel, let me concur with that assumption: Israel is the only country in the ME and in fact in the world, that operates the biggest open air prison which doubles as a “kill box”. That’s very unique in my estimation. In fact the words of General Rafael Eitan … “All the Arabs will be able to do is scuttle around like drugged cockroaches in a bottle” have become prophetic 35 years hence. In the same theme Rabin said “We will reduce them to cockroaches” Kind of a fixation with roaches here, no?

Excuse me Mountain Gal, but your comment is not only incredibly naive, but it reeks of racism. To claim that Israel is “the only country in the Middle East that doesn’t discriminate against women, kill gays, etc.” is just wrong. Israel is not a democracy by any stretch, much like other countries in the region. The protections implemented under law are for Zionists and do not hold for Muslims. Muslims and even Christian Arabs/Palestinians are considered second class citizens and are discriminated against, be it women, men, gays, etc. Your comment is like saying Nazi Germany didn’t discriminate against “their own people.” Well yeah, that’s true, if you ignore non Aryans and non-party members.

The pro-Trump group Patriot Prayer had a rally here yesterday (Seattle) and Citizens against Hate held a counter rally. The police kept the two groups apart and this required much pepper spray and loud explosions to keep the Citizens against Hate group from kicking Trump patriot ass. Notably absent is any comment from Trump on any of our hot summer troubles percolating beneath Americas sunburned and tattooed skin anywhere. Not an ‘August’ presence at all but his racist ass does not concern himself with the rabble unless they are voting for him and they already did that. At this time it is probably best he keep his pie-hole shut anyway.

If you think Trump is part of the problem you don’t understand the dynamics truly at work here.

BLM is not looking for blood. Sheesh. Neither is Antifa, unless it is Neo Nazis. If you want someone to blame that isn’t on the right, go ahead and blame the neoliberals. It is their policies, with support from the conservatives, that have lead to the economic mess we are in. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton are a good start for finger pointing. As far as the cultural backlash going on, some of it is justified, but some of it is way over the top (you know, as Greer says, the opposite of a really bad idea is often a really bad idea), and simply serves as a recruitment tool for people like you into fascist ideology.

Seems like you’d agree that it’s anti-Trump protestors (or anti-pro-Trump protestors) bringing the violence. In the sickening video of the car running people down in Chancellorsville, when the car stops after hitting people it’s immediately set upon by bat- and club-wielding people who break its rear window.

The police ought to have arrested EVERY person brandishing such a weapon, Nazi and Antifa alike.

      • uslabor August 14, 2017 at 11:16 am #

As if attacking a car with sticks is equivalent to assaulting a group of people with a speeding Dodge Charger. Dr, your racist Unite the White stripes are showing.

        • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 11:35 am #

How did baseball bats and clubs become “sticks”? They seemed to be pretty prevalent, wouldn’t you agree?

I’d imagine that that young man driving the car is going to go away to prison for quite a while. If he intentionally drove through the crowd to kill people, I would understand the state of Virginia executing him, though I might prefer long-term lockup.

If, by contrast, he had a gang of people pounding on his car before he drove away in a panic, would you consider that a mitigating circumstance? Or would you prefer he become a new Reginald Denny? What’s your thinking here?

Oh, wait: you’d rather call me a racist than agree that disarming large, riotous crowds is a proper role for police.

          • uslabor August 14, 2017 at 11:53 am #

Okay, not sticks, but baseball bats, and AFTER the racist plowed his car into the crowd of peope, killing one and injuring many more.

Yeah, I would have preferred him to become the New, Improved Reginald Denny, beat to within an inch of his life by white folks, just like himself, than to see him injure all the people he did. Yeah, I would have preferred that, and yeah, I do think you must be a racist, too, dr.

Okay, not sticks, but baseball bats, and AFTER the racist plowed his car into the crowd of people, killing one and injuring many more.

You forget he was also on those psychoactive drugs, too. Anyone depraved enough to adhere to a defunct ideology like National Socialism already has signs of mental illness. Good thing you’re not letting that issue cloud your judgment about him. I’ve yet to see video of what was happening around his car before the murderous/manslaughterous drive.

Yeah, I would have preferred him to become the New, Improved Reginald Denny, beat to within an inch of his life by white folks, just like himself, than to see him injure all the people he did.
Would you also make that choice if surrounded by a crowd of “Nazis” who were threatening you? Just to be consistent, of course. Unless, of course, those “Nazis” aren’t people? If so, you remind me of the Catholic priest who preferred not to fight off and kill a hypothetical mugger, since killing a criminal in that state would mean sending him to hell. That’s admirable.

yeah, I do think you must be a racist, too, dr.
Oh, wait, you’re clairvoyant! You’d never get into a situation like the one I mentioned. Can you also share a stock tip?

      • elysianfield August 14, 2017 at 11:33 am #

“The police ought to have arrested EVERY person brandishing such a weapon, Nazi and Antifa alike.”

It was, at one time, illegal in California to wear a mask in a public place. I have spent time in riot formation, and believe, to this day, that any protester involved in a demonstration wearing a mask should be targeted with rubber bullets and bean-bags…given one warning and then dropped immediately.

        Anyone.

        • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 11:40 am #

Do police still act like that in the face of crowds in the USA? The protests against Trump at the inauguration didn’t become violent like this. Maybe because it was Federal police who didn’t have to worry about DoJ looking over their shoulders?

          • elysianfield August 14, 2017 at 12:18 pm #

            Dr. Tom,
Police do what they are told to do by higher authority. Mask wearers do so for very few legitimate reasons. Police are directed into crowds (usually) only after red lines, clearly delineated, have been crossed. Lay the blame for violence at the feet of civil authority who make the decisions.

“Do police still act like that in the face of crowds in the USA”

Well, human nature has not changed in the last 50 odd years, and neither has effective methods of crowd control. Spend some time in these “dynamic environments” and watch sausage being made.

I cannot remember, even once, considering the DOJ in the midst of one of these events. The mind is focused elsewhere….

          • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 6:55 pm #

Thanks for the view inside the bubble, EF.

I get that most police have a commitment to order, and order is what’s needed. Large gangs going around with clubs, mace, and guns is not a good situation. Perhaps they needed more police overall.

One young woman would still be alive, I think.

I saw video that showed people attacking that car prior to him running into people!
And yes if you get stopped and swamped it is very easy to pull someone out of a car and beat them to death.
I also hear first hand how Antifa had water balloons full of urine/poop, paint and various chemicals they hurled at the other side.
The alt right march was largely peaceful until these events.
Antifa and BLM always resort to violence which is odd because they have become and are using the type of tactics as the fascist types they claim to abhor.
We become that which we hate!

      K Dog,

You don’t come around to Greer’s blog any more, and he has retooled it, but I think you and y’all ought to go read his week before this one post called “Hate is the new sex”

      ecosophia.net.

      • K-Dog August 15, 2017 at 9:44 am #

Thank you sophia. JMG was timely with that missive.

      • K-Dog August 15, 2017 at 10:24 am #

Greer did his usual ten thousand word column I see. Considering brevity is the soul of wit he could do better if his pieces were shorter and more to the point. but that would not be Greer.

He exploited a similarity as the ‘Love Trumps Hate’ crowd are all out there hating as we know; but hate and sex are really not comparable.

For most people! For some it is indeed pretty much the same but I’m not writing here about freaks.

Before Trump there was hate and after Trump there will be hate. The significant thing is that hating Trump became acceptable because he is an outlier and was not supposed to win. Hence for a while hating him is fine within some groups because hate is used to enforce social boundaries.

Both hate and sex have been around for a very long time and were they to vanish sex would have to go first.

Sex was ‘hated’ because the celebration of sex as we know it was impossible in a world without birth control. To get all to comply with having babies at the appropriate time and with the appropriate people sex had to be demonized. Also all venereal disease was once like AIDS, incurable so demonizing sex was also a health issue.

Greer went on and on about sex being ‘hated’ in Victorian times but the truth is people were hating on other people who they saw as rule breakers. The idea of a common social standard was reasonable to earlier times. For them all we needed to do was to to tear down the tower of babble and get there. Having god’s word told to all the ‘ignorant savages’ they could find was a big part of that mission and finding fault with people who don’t toe the line was another big part. Some things never change.

They were not hating on sex itself though naturally the dim totally confused the issues so there are plenty of instances and situations which can be quoted to show me wrong. But that would be missing my point.

Greer saw a similarity and ran with it. I see another. The very people who are trying to re-define sexual orientation are like modern day Victorians in that they think they can legislate morality and humans behavior just as the Victorians tried to do.

        Foolishness.

        • sophia August 16, 2017 at 10:18 pm #

Hmm, not all societies in older eras were repressed about sex. You’ve got some good points, though, about the need for greater regulation without birth control.
So he’s saying that there are certain ways in which societies behave when they are repressing and not being honest about certain human feelings that you can’t legislate ought not to exist. Right now it’s hate, and yet those very people do a lot of hating, just as the Victorians often had their sexual outlets.

My answer to your question is that the financial collapse upon us will be the catalyst for widespread civil disorder, as the underpinning of our degradation will disappear. The result, I think, will be resurgent nihilism, survival of the fittest with little regard for God or man.

    • K-Dog August 14, 2017 at 9:50 am #

The ‘fit’ will be concerning themselves with their lives and own personal business and staying away from the emotional release of frothing at the mouth angry crowds be they the hating crowds of crowd of white identity politics or the hating against hate crowd screaming out.

“Cops and clan hand in hand. Cops and clan hand in hand. Cops and clan hand in hand….”

To which I hope that any young black man pulled over by the police while driving anywhere in America anytime soon will keep their hands on the wheel, be polite and do what they are told. Copping of attitudes for changing of lanes without signaling or any other legitimate concern of the police by which they may want to find out what people are up to and doing is not a political act or a line in the sand that has to be crossed.

I would like to thank JHK, For explaining this mess all i have been seeing on tv is ” it is all Trumps fault’.

If I may throw my 2 cents in. What we saw this weekend in VA. started with Reagan in 1980 when he go in bed with the Religious Right for votes[pun intended]. So over the past 37 years we have witnessed this weird melding of Politics and Religion that has resulted in Conservative Justice Warriors who defend their Political Beliefs with a Religious Zeal.

This is also an expression of the Anger that elected Trump. People realizing how they have been screwed by the Financial System they believed in and now have nothing. We are going to be seeing alot more of this.

So, go get a job picking lettuce.

        • JimInFlorida August 14, 2017 at 12:48 pm #

When the wages go up to where they should be, then you’ll see Americans picking lettuce. For that matter, the price of lettuce will go up to its proper level.

Cheap lettuce carries a very high cost. Those costs hidden in free medical care for immigrants, disruption of the White social fabric, welfare benefits, anchor babies, disconnecting Americans from understanding where their food comes from, and moral tragedy as cheap imported labor is abused.

If migrant labor is not respected and paid properly, then what’s to stop the abuse of all other domestic wage-labor? Thirty-six years of Reaganomics has spawned a malicious contempt for labor and the plummeting standards of living prove it.

        • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 1:27 pm #

Labor used to be against illegal immigrants since they destroy the very modus operandi of the strike. But Big Labor has sold out just like everyone else, hence your inane comment.

      • outsider August 14, 2017 at 7:55 pm #

No, malthuss, “the beginning of the end” was the passage of the Hart-Celler Immigration Act of 1965. It opened the floodgates to millions of unskilled from the Third World so that business could keep labor costs down and outrageously increase their profits. The front man for this tragedy was the old drunkard Teddy K – the “Lion of the Senate.”

    • thenuttyneutron August 14, 2017 at 4:42 pm #

      BINGO!

I would extend this description to most of America. People are in pain and pissed off. These people are in a vulnerable existence and will listen to any charlatan that appears to have any interest or concern for them. These charlatans are fanning the flames of anger and bringing what used to be a simmering cauldron of emotions to a rolling boil of violent outbursts.

The problem is that people don’t know who to be angry at and are lashing out at the wrong people! Keep in mind that this is happening during the “good times”. What the hell if going to go down if people are hungry? How are people going to keep their composure when they have children incessantly crying due to hunger pains?

      • outsider August 14, 2017 at 8:07 pm #

Who are the “charlatans” anyway? Richard Spencer? David Duke? If one goes to the trouble of actually listening to what they say, instead of writing them off based on media propaganda, you might find that their world view makes more sense than anything spewing forth from the DC swamps – or academia for that matter.

    • sophia August 14, 2017 at 5:53 pm #

Always do a 180 on the media. If they say it’s all Trump’s fault, it means it was the opposition’s fault. His opposition will stop at almost nothing. Since I am not at all allergic to conspiracy theories, I would not be surprised.

In the larger context, the conflict serves as a diversion to the accelerating corruption of the globalists.

The stand down orders directed to the Charlotteslville police were issued by corrupted politicians, starting with the mayor, and issued by governor Terry McAuliffe.

  6. ozone August 14, 2017 at 9:55 am #

    JHK,
Excellent observations this week; thanks for putting some comic bite into the tragic circumstances.

    Two things:
This is why I’d *prefer* that financial collapse to be the first portion of the Long Emergency to sweep this benighted land, because only then would we realize some of our COMMON predicaments. As much as some of the posters on this very comment section would like, a civil war (y’know, like lots and lots of killin’) over these really stupid “issues” is the most foolish exercise in flexing the reptile-brain that I could imagine. — Unless we’re simply wishing for a handy way to reduce the population, supposedly resulting in larger pie-slices…

The second thing is that this kind of eventuality (shithead-on-shithead violence on a *newsworthy* scale) plays right into the hands of those wishing for a reason for a Big Crackdown, curtailing even more of the “inalienable” rights. (We’ll probably get to witness just how “alienable” they might really be… as the Cheney-Bush regime to the present day hath shewn.)

    • ozone August 14, 2017 at 10:04 am #

      …*it* is the most…

    • Mountain gal August 14, 2017 at 10:25 am #

I think that many who wish for a civil war and that sort of collapse tend to believe that they are smarter than the average dude and that they and theirs will survive and thrive. Someone I know who espouses the notion that we are overpopulated and that 1 in 3 needs to “go” has never stopped to consider that there is absolutely no guarantee that he or his loved ones will be among those who survive. But that’s human nature I guess……

      • malthuss August 14, 2017 at 10:38 am #

wishin and hopin and thinkin and prayin.

      • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 11:06 am #

There’s a certain wish for the solidarity that grows out of hard times, and that’s perfectly understandable. When Superstorm Sandy knocked out power to our area in 2012, I had a blast going around helping neighbors, securing gasoline, being my own little electric company off a generator I managed to buy before they were all sold out.

It was the same with a lot of the men in the neighborhood, white and hispanic alike. No crime, no bitching: just DO, don’t think.

I think most women and children would be terrorized by a civil war, justly so. For a significant number of men it would be the most alive they’ve ever felt. I refer you to Sebastian Junger’s book Tribe, where he interviews people who survived the civil war in Bosnia who miss those times.

        • Mountain gal August 14, 2017 at 12:34 pm #

Agreed. This friend I mention believes that he would be finally recognized for what he has to contribute as opposed to how badly he has fared economically and otherwise in our current society. I think he has a lot of company; men who haven’t done well in our modern times but think they would do well come Armageddon or some variation thereof when their “gifts” would finally be recongized. And as a woman, anarchy with violent sorts armed with weapons has little appeal…..

          • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 9:30 pm #

It’s natural to the male side of mankind, MG. Most men can never be the heroes of science or programming or,the other heroic opportunities of late LongEmergency society. But a small amount of chaos? Each man can set some order to that.

Creating such small chaos without setting the whole society ablaze is the challenge.

        • Beryl of Oyl August 14, 2017 at 12:36 pm #

          That’s interesting.

I met a woman who did very dangerous work during WWII. In speaking briefly with her, I got the sense that her work then, was the time of her life.
I think it has to do with a sense of purpose, and not just purpose, but a sense of duty as well.
          Nobody thinks about duty anymore.

Yes, I understand the need for a sense of purpose. I’m just saying that I think there are a lot of people, mostly men, who just aren’t making it in today’s America(or for that matter any of the ME or African countries) so they welcome anarchy and disruption or join ISIS in an attempt to be “a man” or what they think a man is. They’re not going to earn millions coding for google or something so instead they become a Nazi.

I know what you and Junger mean, Dr Tom. Sad to say, the only time in my life that I really felt alive for an extended period was when the Army sent me off for good times in Europe – 45 years ago. If I wasn’t so old, I’d be ready to start rockin’ & rollin’ on the streets with the boys myself. Life in the multi-cultural USA is madness.

Agreed and nicely put. To turn it on its head: might the current social disturbances even be at least loosely engineered by those who know that a financial collapse is in the offing (possibly even engineered as well)? Worth considering, whether or not you go in for conspiracies.

So you think TPTB could be using their control over American media to manipulate us for their own evil ends?

Perish the thought. Our leaders are kind and thoughtful and would never do anything to hurt us. They will gladly put aside their self interest for the long term public good. People go into politics to serve the public for exactly that reason and are good people.

My third grade teacher told me this years ago. I have it on good authority.

DA, I read Loewen’s book “Lies Across America” and found it fascinating.

I got quite a laugh about the Daughters of the Confederacy (DOTC) placing their idiotic monuments all over the nation even in states / territories that never sent a single soldier to join the rebel army, i.e., Montana Territory.

Though history is mostly written by the victors, the DOTC tried their best. I’m sure they’d be agog at the thought of removing a statue of Robert E. Lee from the town square in Charlottesville, VA, where the Army of Northern Virginia so proudly marched off to war … too bad any of them survived Gettysburg.

The American Civil War left much deeper scars on all sides of the divide than we were ever able to admit and it continues to haunt us still. The fact that we’re a culture of victims now (some of it legitimate, some of it entirely specious) certainly doesn’t help things either. Civil War 2.0 promises to be a rollicking wild ride for all on board.

To paraphrase an old saying- You might not be interested in politics but politics is interested in you. Demonstrations strike me as counterproductive political action. I didn’t think that as a Vietnam War protestor in the 70s when I saw half a million young people in the street but it’s the lazy man’s way of political change. Its a media celebrity event rather than a political argument about something. It “signifies” and is just a Rorschach test for hate.

Sigh. Not sure about all that. The thing is, we’re stuck with each other, and was it people like you who thought it was a great idea to rob Africa of her people and bring them here? We made our bed and now should figure out how to live with it.

You have said you want an ocean between. Well, there was one. But now there ain’t, and whose fault is that?

I’m not a Catholic, but a true Gnostic.

          • Janos Skorenzy August 15, 2017 at 1:29 am #

Rob Africa of her people? That’s rich considering they’re spreading like locusts. You do know that they came from all over Africa to sneak into the racist state of South Africa, right? Where their numbers quadrupled in fifty years? Likewise they thrived in America. Being brought here was the best thing that ever happened to them – and the worst for us.

And btw: very few Americans owned slaves. Of course you think the White Race has to die because of it. You are only beginning your journey out of Liberalism. You have a long, long way to go before you reach the Truth. Again, we can’t live with them unless we are on top. Otherwise they will seek to destroy us. If it was going to work, it already would have. We are just too different.

  7. Walter B August 14, 2017 at 9:56 am #

If the way to take a bridge is to attack both ends at the same time, then the way to destroy a society is to assault it from every possible aspect, every angle, every segment of that society simultaneously as well as without. I am certain that we all remember those who started this nation writing that the corruption would begin in the cities, the urban areas, where corruption quickly becomes the rule of law(less), and then spreads outward. This nation, this system is rotting and collapsing from within, and also from without and if it all does not simply burst into flames shortly a lot of us out here will be scratching our heads and wondering WTF is keeping it from not doing so.

Anyone who whines about all of this not being positive enough or more upbeat should attack me here with proofs that viable corrective solutions have been put forth somewhere that I have missed before they simply try to wish is all better with happy thoughts and unicorn spoor. I see nothing on any horizon that even purports itself as improvement, solutions, or even a better way. Nobody really cares, no one is doing anything to correct it and it has absolutely zero possibility of getting anything but worse before it dies, sorry. But heck, why be so glum when football season is just about to begin, right? That or some other bread and circuses distraction should make it all better, right? .

If a man living alone in a house built near or on a fault line returns to his house some morning and sees his home in disarray and in ramshackle he could assume that his house had collapsed during the time he was away. After all, he says to himself: everyone has been telling me for decades that someday the fault will slip, cause an earthquake, and so destroy my house, my home.” This becomes the normalcy bias. People gossip about it and auto-confirm it in rumor. He comes to expect the long “arc of” natural “history” to collapse upon him. Yet when the man approaches his house’s entrance he finds that someone has sealed the still-attached front door, so he enters into his home via a broken side window. To the person’s dismay he finds that everything under the picked-though detritus of his house has been stolen — all his patents, all accoutrements, his property, all his production, and all his privacy has been stolen or attached and noted and titled as the property of another person. He collapses to his knees, looks back out the window and notices his neighbors’ home in the same condition as his, and he realizes that the collapse narrative and rumor which he believed (loved) was a preliminary conditioning to the advancement of the greatest criminal fraud and theft of wealth in human history.

As for the “antifas”, I can’t think of anything more ironic and dangerous. Except, well, actual fascists. Those of us against extremism in all its forms, who still believe in free speech (yes even for these inbred neo-nazis) and anti-violence gotta stand up and be heard.

Perhaps a resurgent morality of a hard work, no war, pro environment mindset would help. This is only a thought experiment since America has shipped the opportunity to be normal overseas along with its jobs but the problem of the crazies coming out would not be happening if traditional values were widely held.

There is a vacuum in America and the vacuum is being filled with insanity. The worship of self fuels the insanity and this worship has pervaded America for decades. It will be a long time sadly before a resurgent morality could take root so unfortunately corn-pone Nazis is what we will get instead.

          • Graycenphil August 14, 2017 at 4:37 pm #

K-Dog, have you forgotten already? I’m thinking of all the facts you got wrong in the last session: price of gas in th ’70s, price gas today, cost of energy, cost of electric cars, etc, etc. Then there was the bit about needing a charging station, but not being able to buy a charging station. Amazing – you were wrong twice in one statement.

Those are the kinds of false beliefs that lead you to false conclusions. And then name calling.

          • K-Dog August 14, 2017 at 10:35 pm #

My my your peanut gallery is busy. You did not mention that facts you want to quibble about were from last week. And you are presenting them distorted. I’m not interested but I will say that installing a 220 VAC. connection is beyond the ability of most homeowners so yes they will have to pay to have it installed. Further while it may not be illegal for an average person to buy a charging station it may be difficult to get one for LIABLITY reasons. A seller is not going to comfortably sell one to someone who is not an electrician and who they do not know. I know of one person who had to try twice before he was able to get his charging station and it was not cheap. Gas prices were dealt with last week loser. Maybe you need to reread the transcript.

Have some more respect for our host. He wrote something to comment on this week and you are stuck in last week. Move on.

It is rare for any ‘facts’ I put out to be wrong because mine come from reality. I only deal with reality as much as is humanly possible and that is something you can’t say.

          • K-Dog August 14, 2017 at 10:37 pm #

            A dispicable liar.

          • Graycenphil August 17, 2017 at 4:03 pm #

K-Dog, how can you be so consistently wrong? I did mention that he facts were from the last session, which was last week. You were wrong last week and you’re wrong this week.

We did deal with the gas question last week; you still didn’t pay 17 cents in the ’70s, even though, as you say, you painted your car brown. I have no idea why you think that would prove how much you paid for gas, but I’m not surprised you tried.

Most will pay to have a 240 volt line installed; I said they could. But you also said you needed a charging station (wrong) and that you could not buy one (wrong). There is no shortage of companies waiting to sell you one. It is not difficult; you pay them and they give it to you. There is no liability issue.

You are not entitled to your own reality; your facts are just plain wrong. Nobody needs a charging station for their electric car, anyone who wants one can buy one, gas is not almost $4 a gallon and you didn’t pay 17 cents in the ’70s. You may have painted your car brown, but I’m even beginning to doubt that.

The Political Correctness Movement is basically a totalitarian ideology which espouses a belief that Reality (Gender, Race, Biology, and material limits) can be overcome by sheer Will and enforced Dogma which can “Transform” people and society. It is preoccupied with “transformation”, particularly with transformation of the individual (transgenderism, denial of age limits in espousing sex education for 4 year old kids, etc.) which is the supreme value over society. Basically, Political Correctness is the 180 degree antithesis of Nati..onal So,,,..ialism, except for the totali,,Tatian Utopianism. Like all Utopian movements it will end in complete disaster. In the EU, its geographic heartland is Germany. Go figure….

It is important that this ideology be developed to its fullest or we will never be able to run our cars on water when the oil runs out. To defeat the laws of physics will require intense concentration and a single minded dedication to purpose. ‘Visualizing’ and imagining the world as you want it seems to be the only way forward. Nobody has a better answer so we have to think it so.

The Michael Brown killing in Ferguson, MO, that kicked off the BLM movement was never a convincing case of injustice, but has been widely regarded as if it was

This is the shocking thing, really. In the fall of 2014, there was also the Tamir Rice killing, where some 12-year-old black kid was simply executed within 2 seconds of police arrival by a cop whose qualifications were rejected by a few departments. ANYONE could see that that was wrong, and it could have started a focus on de-escalating police violence against citizens. It’s the same with the dash cam video of Philando Castile getting executed in Minnesota, followed by that Australian woman.

Instead, we were supposed to accept that a man who fought with a police officer, tried to grab his gun, and refused to surrender was a victim. They never let up on it, or went to the obvious case of injustice, like Tamir Rice. That means they’re not looking to address injustice, but to demonstrate power by making people say things they know not to be true.

      • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 10:56 am #

“Tamar had a toy gun that didnt look like a toy.”
They took how long to determine that?

        From the 911 call:
A man called 911 to report that a “guy with a gun” is pointing it at people at Cudell Recreation Center.

The man was calm and told dispatcher Constance Hollinger that the person pointing the gun was “probably a juvenile” and that the gun is “probably fake.”

        Bad procedure #1:
The problem was that dispatchers didn’t tell Loehmann and Garmback that Tamir might be a child and that the gun might be fake.

        The following relates to Minnesota:

Loehmann got out of the cruiser and fired his service weapon twice at close range. Loehmann said he shouted warnings to Tamir to drop his firearm, but the whole interaction lasted less than two seconds.

The city, since this shooting, has worked with the U.S. Justice Department and an independent monitor to re-draft how officers use force and try to de-escalate situations. While the new policies still leave officers a lot of discretion, it also says officers must take every step necessary to avoid using violence before using a weapon.

This could include slowing a situation down or moving to escape danger.

Had BLM focused on the unjust killing instead of the justified one, we might have had reviews for conveying information (part of the Castile killing), and focused on calming down jumpy cops. Instead, we get 5 policemen killed in cold blood in Dallas by a man focusing on false narratives of police brutality.

        • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 1:48 pm #

That’s the point Doc: you don’t have time in such scenarios. Two seconds is an eternity. It’s Darwinism in action: the kid was a hardcore dummy not to drop or hide that “gun” when the police showed up. And being that dumb and vicious, in a few years he would have gotten the real thing and started a life of crime.

          • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 11:49 am #

Yeah, but Philando Castile simply possessed a gun, and did not brandish it. Didn’t help him.

One has to have some sympathy with the police officers who killed Tamir: they were misinformed, and one was not qualified to be a police officer. They were undertrained. That lack of training and escalated response later wound up killing two people in Minnesota.

Had we focused on jumpy police in 2014, instead of Michael Brown and the proper police response to him (oh, and how having police fines constitute 25% of a city’s revenue source [be nice if Jeff Sessions would do away with asset forfeiture] is simply legalized highway robbery), we might have avoided those two Minnesota deaths.

I propose as a society we stop using the following terms: 1. “White Privilege” (as if all white people are created equal–in all honestly, the white working class people I know have a LOT more crap to deal with than the Asian and Latino people I know—see my book recommendation below) 2. “White Trash” (offensive, imagine if we used the term “Black Trash” or “Latino Trash” openly) and 3. “Third World” (an offensive term to describe non-white Earthlings). I read a very good book this week “White Working Class–Overcoming Class Cluelessness in America”. It’s new and it’s a quick read and quite insightful. I tune out the media for the most part but noticed two particularly clueless things this morning on the car radio: Demonstrators singing “Let It Be” (the 1970 Beatles song) as a response to the Charlottesville rioting. “Let it Be” is a song about acceptance—why would you sing a song about acceptance as a response to the riots? How stupid. And I heard some politician commenting about Charlottesville and stating something about “we’ve jumped this shark”—“Jumping the Shark” means something else entirely, that’s a complete misuse of the expression….

I’d recommend a book in this regard, JHK. Defying Hitler is the tale of a right-wing opponent of the National Socialists, an old-line Prussian nationalist disgusted by the uncouth thugs of the NSDAP. Two points from the book stand out in this regard. 1) The Nazis became popular when they would go out onto the streets to battle the left-wing thugs assaulting ordinary Germans, because the state would do nothing to stop left-wing violence against bourgeois Germans. 2) After the Nazi takeover of power, the fight just went out of the Socialists entirely, and they rolled over.

It’s not the losers waving Nazi flags we need to worry about. It’s the organizational geniuses figuring out how to use a new SA to take over the whole country. Antifa will find out, as Alinsky wrote, that the action is the reaction to them. And after they’ve spawned a Nazi state, they’ll do nothing to fight it.

Except this Nazi state will have its hands on nuclear weapons.

Do Whites have rights or not? If yes, that means to advocate for ourselves as a group just like Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, et al.

What is the problem? I know, I know: White Dispossession is the very essence of America now. But the easy stuff is over. From here on in they’re going to have to fight us. Now you know very well that statues of Lincoln and Washington are next. Is that right or wrong? Face it, Doc: we’re on the right side and the Establishment is not. If you can’t openly support us, do so secretly.

      • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 4:46 pm #

Suppose I were white, and of Slavic background, Janos. As a Pole or Russian, would I have rights? The numbers of Slavs killed as a direct result of Nazi actions so far outnumbers whites killed by any number of others that it makes the comparison ridiculous.

The worry is that weak leftist violence, uncontained by the state, will spur some radical right wing groups who will be manipulated into being the muscle for a group at the top. A middle class, its hopes destroyed by inflation and its fears raised by uncontrolled left-wing rioting, throws its support behind that group.

I cannot begin to imagine the destruction that results from that. i would prefer that the state do its job and stop the violence now.

          • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 9:50 pm #

            Of course we have rights.

My worry is the unencumbered Federal state. I don’t think it’s anti-white as much as pro-banker. Denuding the country just affects more whites now.

The Long Emergency means we don’t have the excess energy or money to pour down the Federal gullet. When that happens, soon we hope, there will likely be areas in the USA where whites cannot go and are not welcome. I won’t have a problem when that happens, so long as I can choose to live in an area where disconnected outside power with no skin in the game doesn’t tell my community how to run.

That’s been a disaster for all but the top echelon.

What galls me is the choice of Robert E. Lee’s statue removal as a cause.

I’m currently reading Shelby Foote impressive trilogy about the Civil War. Robert E. Lee was the kind of man who deserves to be honored and recognized for the extraordinary person he was. The cause he fought for was NOT to preserve slavery even if that was the intended purpose of the politicians and wealthy land owners who precipitated the secession.

Lee besides what skills he had as a general was a thoroughly decent and admirable human being. He forbad his soldiers to plunder, rape, and otherwise victimize civilians and the men under him complied because he was so highly respected. He treated all people with respect whether above or below him in status. He was kind, he was humble – there is every reason to respect him and honor him with a statue and it is a perversion to associate him with the evils of racism.

    • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 11:58 am #

There was a 7000-comment thread over at the NYT about this. The considered opinion: Robert e. Lee fought on behalf of a slave-holding society, and so ought not to be present anywhere on earth.

I, for one, think they ought to take this logic to its final ends. Take down all statues of Washington. then, find ANY soldier who fought on the side of slavers. Take those statues down; goodbye, Marcus Aurelius. Slavery was practiced in ancient Israel? Set hammer-wielding madmen to work on Michelangelo’s sculpture of Moses. Destroy any remains of ANY society where slavery was practiced; that should solve the problem of the Elgin marbles. Blow up the US Capitol: it was built with slave labor.

      • Bruce E August 14, 2017 at 12:35 pm #

Taking “this logic to its final ends” is a very specific form of logical error that has a name: the “slippery slope fallacy.”

The Confederacy wasn’t merely a slave-holding society. It was a society whose founding principles were rooted in the right to own slaves — and not just “slaves” in the general but rather very specifically black African slaves — and whose economic success was predicated upon the continuation of that practice into the long-term future, probably forever.

        • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 2:03 pm #

The slaves had a better life in many ways than the Northern factory workers.

          • Bruce E August 14, 2017 at 2:29 pm #

And the Northern factories profited more on the backs of slaves than did the Southern fields by getting artificially cheap raw materials and a downward-pressure on the cost of their own labor. Slaves that escaped to the North were more than happy to work for a pittance and drive wages down for everybody.

Yes — you are correct. The entire foundation of the economic success of the United States, both North and South but moreso in the North, was predicated upon slavery.

It still pays dividends to this day.

          • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 5:30 pm #

You’re right, Bruce. By running high tariffs, the North could get the benefit of a balance of payments funded by Southern agricultural products, while the South never got the benefit of importing cheap manufactures from overseas.

Lincoln, of course, promised to raise tariffs higher. Surely you know that that, as in 1828, had a lot to do with secession. And the idea of free-trading southern ports was the real threat to his union.

He didn’t care a fig about the slaves in1861.

Oops my comment went awry. I simply do not understand the mentality that would allow one human to morally or ethically justify owning another. I fail to see why, logically, erasing the statues of people who fought for slave-holding societies ought not take place everywhere.

I assume you’re in favor of removing statues of Lincoln, too, whose originally proposed 13th Amendment meant to keep slavery legal (in this regard, I’m glad the South seceded and attacked, setting off the Failed war for Southern independence, instead of accepting the deal. We would still have that odious amendment.)

Or perhaps do you see that a man can do evil and yet also be recognized for the good he does?

Hey doc how do you explain that all of central and south America as well as many parts of the Caribbean also had slavery AND none of those other areas had to fight a long costly war to do away with the practice?
Slavery died a very quiet death almost everywhere in the west in fact only parts of the middle east and Africa still practice chattel slavery.

I suspect had it died a quiet death like elsewhere some of the racial animus would not exist today on both sides.

Unless it can be proved that Lee voluntarily suffered military defeat, like a boxer who takes a dive in the 12th round after showing he could have won because a mobster who bet against the odds holds his wife hostage, in order to keep the South from enshrining slavery into the cornerstone of their fledgling Confederacy, there is no amount of “he was a good man in his heart” that can properly divorce him from the likes of Jefferson Davis and the Constitution of the Confederate states:

      jjmccullough.com/CSA.htm

People still erroneously view racism as a moral flaw of the individual rather than recognize it as it is: a functional flaw of an institution or society. It does not matter, even if it is true that Lee was a good man and did not harbor racist feelings. What matters is that he was a linchpin of the success (or lack thereof, in this case) of a racist institution whose founding principles were centered on the enslavement of black Africans and whose economic success was predicated upon the continuation of that enslavement.

If history has taken away the shine of an actually good man, then we can just chalk his good name and his memory as a casualty of a horrible war, whatever Lee as an individual may or may not have “deserved” in terms of a legacy.

      • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 2:06 pm #

There was an anti-slavery movement in the South and Lee endorsed it: slavery was bad for ordinary Whites as well as being immoral in itself. I know that wins no points in your Negro worshiping heart, but other might be interested to know that he was a thinker as well as a great soldier.

Do you care that Whites are facing genocide in Zimbabwe and South Africa? If not, why not since you are all compassionate and shit?

        • Bruce E August 14, 2017 at 2:26 pm #

Of course slavery was bad for the working-class, whether or not they were white. What Lee endorsed with words and what he was supporting with the application of his great soldiering and thinking to the art of war supporting politicians like Jefferson Davis are two very different things, and the key here is that racism isn’t what might or might not been the affect of Lee’s heart, but rather the practical results of his efforts — had he been successful in the prosecution of the war.

The whites in Zimbabwe and South Africa are not relevant to how this country treats its own — its citizens as well as the non-citizens that are living right here and right now within its borders. Again you want to reduce this “racism” to a particular quirk of the feelings of the individual rather than to recognize it as the practical consequences of our collective actions.

And as to “your Negro worshiping heart,” are you kidding me? Do I have to hold out hope for every asshole on this thread, that Poe’s Law enables me to think there is a remote possibility that people like yourself (and thwack) are poorly-trained satirists trying to accomplish… what, exactly?

          • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 3:10 pm #

Everything starts in the mind and/or heart. The Chinese have a character called Heart/Mind that is useful. Thus what people are feeling and thinking is most important. From that flows values and only later, laws.

If you think all Whites are evil then that matters. If you think Whites who want to live are evil, then you are evil and my enemy.

          • Bruce E August 14, 2017 at 3:14 pm #

Does it help you to make-believe that I, and people like me, “think all Whites are evil”? Does it help to dehumanize me in that way. Will it help you deal with the pains of guilt after you’ve killed me?

Is that what you are preparing for, with this fiction of yours?

          • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 5:20 pm #

Stalin was no doubt a mass killer, with the Holodomor killing millions of Ukrainians. Evil man, with a body count only exceeded by Mao.

Zhukov was a general who fought for this evil man, and survived Stalin’s ill-timed purges to become the supreme commander of Soviet forces. When his homeland was invaded by forces commanded by a man who had no problem with slavery, he fought back bravely and well, despite killing millions of his countrymen. His armies committed mass rape on their march westward.

Should the Russians be permitted to have statues of this man who fought for an evil regime? What do you think of Zhukov?

          • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 5:23 pm #

By the way, I admire the way you can see through the fog to what’s really behind things. Slavery served the needs of the upper crust of Confederate society, and keeping the white and black working classes from recognizing class interests they have in common keeps people fighting amongst themselves, instead of focusing on the new slaveholding elite that profits from all of us.

Have you read Debt, by David Graeber?

          • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 7:52 pm #

Bruce: You people say all Whites are racist – and even teach it in Universities. I’m not imagining anything. Anyone around academia knows how mad it is now because of your folks.

          • sophia August 14, 2017 at 10:16 pm #

Bruce, it’s probable that Lee was not fighting for slavery, especially if he thought it ought to be abandoned. There were other reasons for the secession. You are too narrow.

          • Bruce E August 15, 2017 at 1:12 pm #

Janos, I don’t believe all “White” people are racists. I believe ALL people are racist. The only cassette tape I ever owned before I was 20 was Eddie Murphy’s “Raw.” The fact that Eddie is black does not make the jokes on that show any less racist, any less offensive. The fact that I laughed with Eddie rather than at him does not make me any less racist. The fact that I now know that those jokes are racist and offensive, combined with the fact that I still find most of them funny, means I’m still racist in a limited way.

Once you identify this about yourself, things start to clear up. Once you admit the problem, face it, own it — only then can you start to fix it.

The difference between me and you is not that you are a racist and I’m not. We’re both racists. The difference is I know it’s wrong and am trying to fix it, starting with myself, and you either don’t see it in yourself or you do and you don’t see anything wrong with it. In fact, it seems you want to revel in it, claim it as your “heritage,” parade it out front for the whole world to see, and then act surprised when people push back at you — even as you hoist a fucking swastika on a banner in their face, as if your intent when doing so wasn’t to incite a (violent) reaction.

      • DrTomSchmidt August 14, 2017 at 5:26 pm #

He did fight the war poorly, and with Southern ideas of nobility. The South had no chance in a war of attrition against a wealthier and more populous north. So in a sense he did voluntarily suffer military defeat.

By the way, how do you feel about the USA being a part of the UN?

        • Bruce E August 15, 2017 at 1:24 pm #

What mythos one subscribes to when it comes to Robert E. Lee is a Rorsach test that tells you something about the subscriber. It is not clear to me why some people want to paint the most-optimistic picture upon him and ascribe near-sainthood to him, given his role in our history.

If, however, it could be proven conclusively that Lee threw the fight in order that someone like Jefferson Davis couldn’t get his way with regards to the continuation of slavery, then I would love to read that history. If it is convincing to enough people, it will be the KKK and the Nazis destroying his statues rather than venerating them…

I’m not sure why you bring up the UN right now. I’m not connecting the dots and perhaps you can help me see why that question is relevant. It sounds, perhaps, like another Rorsach test question.

Do I consider the US’ sovereignty as more important than our role in a community of nations in the world? No. I’m not a “patriot” in that sense. I’m not a nationalist. In fact, I think nationalism is a much more destructive force than is racism. I think, at least as it stands now given our veto power, the UN has little leverage other than rhetorical over what the US does or does not do, but perhaps that little bit of leverage is enough and I wouldn’t call for more, at least at the moment. In some senses, I would think the world would be better off, and the US worse-off, if we were “taken down a notch” by giving the UN more leverage.

When 5% of the world’s population consumes 25-30% of the energy and enjoys the largess of a third of the world GDP, and also leverages that inequality to run roughshod over the world during a time of energy and economic contraction, as someone benefiting from that inequality I recognize that it would hurt me directly if there was any movement towards economic and political justice by even reducing the magnitude of that inequality by a little bit.

          Did I answer your question?

          • DrTomSchmidt August 15, 2017 at 2:46 pm #

Part of the mythos has to do with being a good loser. Lee did not ravage the Maryland and Pennsylvania countryside like Sherman did Georgia, and his surrender at Appomattox had a lot to do with his soldiers being dismissed by Grant to return home with their weapons; Grant knew that Lee’s status would carry enough weigh with his soldiers to end the war then. One could imagine a South full of soldiers like the Japanese who fought on into the 70s.

I Think his “nobility” and “chivalry” had a lot to do with the South’s losing, but he didn’t intentionally throw the war. He did free his own slaves in 1862, if I recall correctly. In some sense, having people with Nazi flags celebrating him is just: both losing causes.

The interesting thing is that you’ve recognized how much the North benefited from Slavery, especially through the mechanism of profits. This sense, it was a colonizer of the South, even more so after the war. You might investigate whether the UN, of which the USA is a member, supports the rights of colonies to revolt, and of the rights of peoples to free themselves. The Confederacy would have had that right, especially considering itself a distinct people. Likewise, the slaves in the South and the North would have the right to rebel.

I assume you support Hawaii’s right to secede? The UN certainly would, if undertaken by native Hawaiian people.

Jane Jacobs pointed out that in 1950 the planet consisted of 50 sovereignties, when Norway broke away and began increasing them. We have far too few at this moment, so i have to side with the UN in favor of the rights of peoples to throw off colonial domination.

We’re about 4% of the planet, Bruce. We are desperately fumbling about, trying to pay for a military and a global dominance we cannot afford. We starve and underinvest in our people so we can kill others. As declining free energy causes economic collapse, we won’t be able to do that anymore: as JHK points out, we are too big.

If we are too big, we need to get smaller, as you yourself point out. Cut the defense budget to 100$bln and the average American not be endangered at all. The people who get to Lord it over the little people elsewhere in the world will lose out, of course, and hey hold the reins of power.

Of course, one way to get smaller, and to make the world safer, is for peaceful secession. Walk away from Omelas.

          • Bruce E August 15, 2017 at 3:33 pm #

Thanks Dr. Tom, especially for your reference to Omelas. That was the very first thing I read that inspired me to read philosophy and history; it still to this day has a strong effect on my thoughts.

One thing that Trump has done to me is turned me into a freaking 10th Amendment conservative. Not only do I want Hawaii to walk away from Omelas, but California and New York to lead the way out.

I wonder if a secession would be peaceful, or if the ideals of Lincoln still hold sway and the Union will be preserved at the point of a spear if necessary. Some days I think a state like California or New York or Texas could secede simply by refusing to read Trump’s Twitter feed…

But yes. I agree that walking away from Omelas, however that works itself out in reality rather than metaphor, is a possible way out of this mess that doesn’t involve someone like Janos shooting me.

          • DrTomSchmidt August 15, 2017 at 6:47 pm #

Ah, you have the right idea, Bruce. Your notion that you are racist, because each human is racist, strikes as more likely to have people come to a successful conclusion to the issue.

I made a recommendation elsewhere here, and I’ll do so again. Do read Debt by David Graeber. A rightist might think it a left-wing book, but it’s one of those tomes that debunks so much of the mythology underlying the current economic structure that it winds up supporting arguments also made on the right. Once you see the weak foundation that underlies neoliberal economic thinking, you’ll see why the system requires race conflict to keep running.

One thing that Trump has done to me is turned me into a freaking 10th Amendment conservative. Not only do I want Hawaii to walk away from Omelas, but California and New York to lead the way out.
I got there by Catholic subsidiarity. I read too many comments in the NYT decrying Lee as a “traitor” for secession (do read the definition of treason on that one) and pulling for the unified, centralized government in DC. I’d hope that those people will see that by forcing the two sides in what has been a simmering culture war for a while to be subjected to rule by the other, they’ve created the possibility of NY being ruled by Texas or Alabama. If the Left can see that this is possible, hopefully they’ll re-energize the 10th so we can all go our own way peaceably. To lose the same percentage of population now that we did from 1861-1865 is appalling to consider.

If you want to understand conservatives so that you’re not drawn into a zero-sum war with them, Jonathan Haidt’s The Righteous Mind would be the next text to read.

I always look at things as if I’m an alien observing Homo sapiens from afar. What I see is a bunch of hairless monkeys jabbering at each other and flinging poo around.

We’ve always had these societal issues; only the terminology has changed. We are not suicidal, just ignorant, so I don’t believe we will end up directly offing ourselves en masse.

The rise and falll of empires and changes in alliances and social mores always occur, and over time ultimately mean nothing as human life goes on.

Where the rubber meets the road is the consequences of our ignorance. Overpopulation leaves us vulnerable to mass infections, and altering our environment both unwittingly and willfully can introduce factors that will cause us much misery.

My modus operandi is to keep my head down, live my life and hope for the best while preparing for the worst.

So true, beantownbill. When I see Trump and Kim “communicating”, I think of rival primates performing dominance displays: chest pounding, shrieking, barring teeth, flinging poo (or Twitter messages). I want to laugh, but unfortunately a lot of people could die because of this nonsense.

Step back and look at how North Korea has been handled up till now.
Norks start misbehaving, sabre rattling and they are paid to be good and about every five or six years the start up again.
Now they are not being paid to be good and they are screaming even louder and displaying threat tactics like a large gorilla throwing shrubs and leaves as they vocalize loudly and charge about.

Time to stop paying the norks to be good Trump is 100% correct in this regard.

Whoa, James, sorry to say it but you are WAY OFF base here. Its not a both sides did it. Its one side MURDERED a young woman by ramming a car into her. That man, James Field, is an Alt Right White Nationalist who LOVES Nazis, KKK and killing liberals. What did the counter protesters a/k/a the UVA students do? Well, they did NOT burn anything, did NOT riot and didn’t kill anyone either.

So its one side who’s to blame — the white supremacists. They need to be denounced loudly by Donnie Trump who won’t because then he loses his base. And if he loses his base, he’s got nothing. During his presidential campaign, Donnie said he would give financial help anyone who beat up liberals. Do ya think he’s gonna pay the bail for Jimmy Fields? My guess — no, Donnie doesn’t live up to his promises and he’s a cheater in every way.

But the real hatred poor, underemployed whites like the Alt Right White Nationalists have for anyone who is tan/brown/black would probably vanish if the economy were in better shape. Read an article in the New Yorker where tech billionaires are planning for various apocalypse situations by buying nuclear hardened apartments in underground silos and such. Seems to me if those self-centered creeps like Donnie Trump and Peter Thiel would spend less time trying to give themselves HUGE TAX BREAKS and instead invest in the infrastructure, repairing things that need repairs and giving local people good paying jobs, why the whole racist tension thing would go away. But I won’t count on Donnie or Thiel to act like decent human beings. They lack any sort of soul.

I could not agree more. I have a wife of Asian descent and a couple of kids, and even though I should naturally be aligned with those opposing the Skinheads, I can’t help feeling the best outcome would have been a missile strike on the whole stinking mass of skinheads and antifa.

The “White Nationalists” have a valid point about the demonization of Whites and Western Culture by the Marxist left today. If I actually believed that was their true intention in protesting (and not eventually bringing violence to my family) I could be sympathetic. Of Course, underneath the rational explanations is the same old tribal nonsense. The Antifa, on the other hand, are just as Jim says, a collaboration of marxists, reverse racists, illegal immigrant advocates, and sexual perverts.

I would care more if I didn’t know how bad the coming resource collapse is going to be, and that any political action at this point is futile. This is end of empire stuff mixed with John Calhoun over population behavioral changes. At this point, I am beyond caring about society as a whole, and am strictly in lifeboat mode for my children. Their survival is all I care about any more.

          • KarlDehrmann August 15, 2017 at 8:45 am #

No talk about self defense groups as far as I know. However, I learned years ago that discussing finite world issues elsewhere than the internet is a prescription for social ostracism, so I keep my mouth shut.

What they do have going for them is a certain clanishness. There is an expectation to help (even distant) extended family. For instance, my father in law allowed several siblings and their families to live with him when they first moved to America. He paid for everything, which allowed them to save money for downpayments on houses, and to purchase used cars for cash. Another example would be a wedding I attended in Belize earlier this year. My wifes first cousin married a Belizean girl. He had cousins he had only met once fly in from England to “represent” that branch of the family. Of course this sort of clanishness can lead to nepotism and carries reciprocal duties as well as rights, but on the whole, I admire it. I suspect it was the status quo everywhere pre-industrialism.

That being said, most Indians in America are the children of intellectuals that came over for college after the 1965 immigration changes (hence the high levels of degree attainment and income, we essentially skimmed the upper class). They thus are pretty progressive minded and not predisposed to preparedness ideas. They also dont have a martial tradition, much firearm ownership, or many farmers/tradesmen in their ranks.

One thing that they do have is a memory of many of them or their family members facing persecution in Africa (wifes uncle born in Nairobi). That older generation wont hesitate to circle the wagons when things get rough, likely while the average American is still waiting on the national guard.

        I am White.

Believe it or not, We received more push back from her family than mine, though it wasn’t much from either side. More concern about the “unknown” and cultural differences than racism. We started dating in 1999, and didn’t get married until 2008, so everyone had time to get used to the idea. It helps, I imagine, that we are from educated and irreligious families. You know, rational types. 🙂

We used to get more stares from strangers in the late 1990’s, now days, not so much. We live in the Midwest, where people in general tend to be more laid back (Though the Charlottesville car murderer was admittedly from Ohio).

Race is a funny thing. Americans (or at least the media) seem obsessed with it. My wife and I have both remarked how we “Forget” we are of different backgrounds. It just doesn’t come up in daily life. I think this is because we are both fully assimilated to American culture. I have colonial stock on one side, but relatively recent German stock on the other. I have no cultural affinity to Germany. Similarly, even though my wife is first generation Indian-American, she is fully assimilated. I honestly believe that if Black and Latino folks did the same a lot of our racial problems would disappear. Cultural differences seem a lot more divisive than racial ones to me. The powers that benefit from keeping the racial narrative going won’t ever agree to that, though.

Im sorry Karl, but you side stepped the main question:

did any white people (family, friends, strangers…) express opposition to your decision to marry a non white person?

          Can you answer this question?

          • JimInFlorida August 14, 2017 at 12:59 pm #

White people aren’t allowed to take notice, let alone protest marrying a non-White finance.

He DID answer your question by dancing around it, as a White Kulak is required to.

          • KarlDehrmann August 14, 2017 at 1:10 pm #

No one expressed opposition to my decision to marry a non white person.

Once, early in our relationship and after a few glasses of wine, my mother asked me why I couldnt find a white girlfriend. In fairness, several years later when the relationship hit a rocky patch, she also talked me into sticking it out.

My mother-in-law, also early in the relationship, told my wife that she “wanted an Indian” as a son-in-law. She now trusts me over the Indian Son-in-law to help manage her substantial retirement savings.

Early in the relationship some extended family members (predominantly on her side) expressed some reservations. By the time the engagement and marriage rolled around, both sides were fully supportive (Or kept their opinions otherwise to themselves). Nobody refused to attend the wedding or anything like that.

When I asked my father-in-law for her hand in marriage, he hugged me and we drank a toast of scotch. His only admonishment was that they did not believe in divorce (my parents are divorced). I promised him I wouldnt be the one to initiate a divorce, and 9 years and 2 kids later, so far, so good.

            Jiminflorida,

I may be a white kulak (extra points for the obscure reference, I had to look it up, which I dont often have to do).

That said, I come from blue collar stock, and looking at the neck tattoos, broken families, and drug addiction in the old neighborhood, Ill take the class hostility that comes with success. Theres no more nobility in the white lower class than there is in the lower class blacks. I treat everyone I meet with courtesy, but truth be told, I do hold the lower class (black, white, or other) in America in contempt. You’re largely a bunch of naked poo flinging apes who havent the intellect or spirit to turn your eyes up from the ground and look around. Hopefully the lot of you will be the ones doing the dieing when the bottleneck comes.

            You’re either thick or trolling:

I repeat: “No one expressed opposition to my decision to marry a non white person.”

NO ONE (including all of the various types of Homo sapiens commonly referred to as White, Black, Asian, Hispanic, or other) and also including family, friends, strangers…, expressed opposition to MY decision to marry a non white person.

Now, if you’re virtual signaling and mean to imply that someone, somewhere, unbeknownst to me expressed a general objection to interracial marriage, then you can go Fuck off with JiminFlorida. Either way, I’m done answering.

            Janos,

Thank you for calling me a “Big Chief”, it’s nice when people acknowledge their superiors!

I agree that tribalism is the natural order of things, and that we are evolved for it. I also believe that industrialism and over population have largely rendered it obsolete today.

Tribes will return, assuming the coming collapse is not an extinction level event. The thing is, I doubt any of the current nation states or any of the traditional “Tribes” will survive what is coming. The coming collapse will wipe out the majority of EVERYONE, regardless of race, and the survivors will be forming tribes with those people they trust that surround them. If you think, after the collapse, that White will not prey on White and Black on Black as well as interracial predation because of some sense of racial solidarity, I think you are going to be very disappointed.

There isn’t going to be some return to idyllic village life, “just like the old days” with all of us wearing lederhosen and dirndls after the collapse. A couple of hundred years hence the customs and probably the languages of the people that survive will be alien to anyone alive today or in the past.

As far as my marriage preferences, I would think that you of all people would be supportive of my right (as an educated, property owning, White man of course!) to do as I damn well please. In any event, I already have assumed that Thwacks brethren and your fellow Klansmen will be knocking at my door, and have made appropriate contingency plans. Hopefully you all succumb to starvation or violence before you make it to my vicinity. Cheers!

Great article, but may I say one thing to Mr. Kunstler:

You used the term “well intentioned” to describe the Liberal/Left policies of paying dollars to black women to produce illegitimate babies and chase the black men out of the family. That seems to be the norm, almost like saying “pretty coed” or “fine trimmed lawn.”

And maybe, on the street level, the amateur Democrat level, that term applies. But I really don’t think it applies at all to the Democratic Party higher-ups who pushed for those policies.

I think they knew darn well what they were doing to the Black Family structure, and did not give a hoot, They wanted the black vote, and if that caused a 72% black illegitimate birth rate, sooo what??? That just guarantees that QUOTE, “the n*gg*rs will be voting Democratic for the next 200 years” like LBJ said.

I mean the whole concept of “barefoot and pregnant” is not a hard one to figure out. Every wife beater knows that one! Keep ’em poor and needy, and they will then “need” you. I assure you that LBJ was smart enough to figure that one out.

So please, maybe in the future, leave off the “well intentioned” phrase. Because there is a good chance it was never well intentioned.

    Thank you!

People’s inability to know themselves, to understand themselves and their fellow humans, to be disconnected from their true essence–their spiritual aspect– is the cause of all of humanity’s woes throughout all of its history on this planet (and maybe other planets).

This is the breakthrough that must be made if we are to truly love, cooperate, thrive, prosper, expand into the future, and create the wonders that we are capable of.

  28. wolfie52 August 14, 2017 at 11:31 am #

Actually Neuroscientists (see the book BEHAVE by R Sapolosky) show that Jim is incorrect here: “…“white privilege” is not responsible for the extraordinary black-on-black homicide rates in Chicago and Baltimore or the black teen flash mobs in malls around the country…” Actually indirectly, it is. Anger displacement (a simple explanation, see the book for a detailed explanation) is EXTREMELY common in the primate world. I am not saying white privilege explains it all, but it IS AT THE ROOT of this b on b violence.

Jim is such a good writer, but his focus is very limited. He keeps saying there is NO INVOLVEMENT by Russia in our election….on that he couldn’t be more wrong! How many spy agencies saying there was and is Russian meddling and stories about Trump officials meeting with Russians often in secret, or at least they tried to keep secret, do you need to hear about?! The problem is business ties and conflicts of interest. DO you need more proof? Just look at the way Trump treats ANY Russian, and compare that to how he treats Angela Merkel. Russia is and will try to influence our elections and it is a real story Jimbo.

I have read Jim for 15 years now. He is a great writer. But he has been so wrong, so many times I no longer take him seriously. He does make me think and that is good. But his ideas do not hold water.

    • Beryl of Oyl August 14, 2017 at 11:58 am #

Anger displacement is common among the not-quite-socialized males of any race.
I just the other day heard someone parrot this talking point after a number of men got into a brawl outside a local convenience store.
The woman interviewed on the news claimed that these men didn’t have enough to do because society or something, so they were left with no options but to fight in front of a convenience store.
The problem with this notion, as I see it, is that I know for a fact that the brawlers were only a tiny segment of the young male adult population in that area, and in fact, it tends to be the same few, over and over, who instigate this sort of thing.
All the people in that neighborhood, many of whom are white, “suffer” from the same lack of somebody coming and giving them something to do, once they reach adulthood. The vast majority somehow manage to find more productive ways to occupy themselves.

You think the way treats Russians versus Angela Merkel constitutes “proof” of Russian collusion or connections or whatever they are calling it today?
You are aware that Hillary’s people came up with the “it’s the Russians!” scenario to explain away her embarrassing defeat, aren’t you?
Anyone else notice, this riot in Charlotte came just in time to give the MSM something to focus on, when the Awan brothers IT scandal started getting too hot to ignore, btw?
If they could just make one last, desperate attempt to get the POTUS out of the way, maybe they could get that cat back in the bag.

It isn’t true that President Trump hasn’t responded about the engineered violence in Charlotte, btw.

It’s discouraging to see so many commentators wading into the civil-war-in-the-making JHK describes, instead of remaining rational and staying out of it. More than ever in my lifetime of 68 years, I find myself without a horse in the race when it comes to major social and political issues. I fondly remember the radicalism of the late 60s and early 70s, when those of us on the left could engage in civil and often entertaining conversation with the resident “Nazi” in the dorm, and when racial segregation and an unjust war provided clear and worthy targets for protest and other activism. In surveys of religious belief, more and more people are choosing the “none” category, not necessarily because they have no spiritual inclinations but because the current left and right wing forms of religious belief simply do not speak to them. Similarly, in light of the current polarization fraught with potential violence on a mass scale, I think we need a lot more “none’s” when it comes to social and political beliefs as currently framed..

These Nazis showed up with guns, sticks, shields, pepper spray, and torches. Things got out of hand and people got into fist fights. One person purposefully drove a car into a crowd and killed someone.

They all went home alive, even the murderous driver of that car, while he didn’t go home, he went to his new home alive.

For those who don’t know, that’s what we call “white privilege.”

Can someone state for the record the actual make and model of the car?

      Is it a Challenger?

      or a Charger?

The mainstream media can’t seem to make up their minds.

      Thanks.

Because we’re sick of the Antifas stomping us. No more easy, painless victories for you people. And you know very well that you will lose in combat against us.

The police herded the Protestors towards the Communists and Anarchists where they were attacked. Naturally, they fought back. The Police just watched, making no effort to keep the parties separated. As I already said, they encouraged it. Then with the pretext established, they declared an Emergency and cleared the streets. They never intended to let the rally happen even though the Judge had ruled in our favor, and ACLU supported our claim. Law Suit time.

      • Bruce E August 14, 2017 at 2:52 pm #

To defeat idiots like you, we need not fight you. We apparently only need to “herd” you into a place where your true selves show through, and you defeat yourselves.

Sure, you’ll claim this murderous asshole using his car to mow down a crowd is an aberration, a “bad apple” or whatnot, but everybody knows the score now. Your masks are off — literally-so for the KKK. We see you clearly now.

Bannon’s on his way out. Ivanka/Jared are back on the rise. Trump has already started to turn his back on you.

You think this is about “combat,” in military terms. You’re an idiot. You don’t understand wtf is going on and how these things are resolved. You probably picture yourself, holding your gun, shooting me right between the eyes. One shot. One kill. Never miss. A fucking hero with a gun.

You don’t understand that you’ve just shot yourself, and in something more-critical than your foot…

Of course you have build your John Lennon/Coca Cola Castles in the Air, but no one with any brains believes that crap, least of all the “Divine” Couple.

          • Bruce E August 15, 2017 at 1:35 pm #

People like you put Jared and Ivanka in charge, not me. You even had Bannon in a position of influence, and you let the “mangy attack dogs” trick you into showing your true selves and kill his spot. After Bannon goes, Miller will follow. What will be left is everything you say you hate. Libtards like myself had nothing to do with it. You did this to yourselves.

You know nothing of my philosophy. I, like JHK, see a future of economic and energy contraction. I see that 5% of the world’s population cannot go on bogarting 25-30% of the word’s energy, so we are set up to take a double-hit — first the same hit everyone else in the world will take as energy consumption (and GDP along with it) contracts mercilously by a percent or two each and every year for at least the next century, and second by our share of that energy/GDP going down from 25-30% towards and closer to 5%. We may never get below 15-20% and still have more than our proportionate (to population) share, but the movement in that direction will crush us psychologically, even though we will still have it better than most of the rest of the world.

In such a contraction, the LAST thing we need superimposed upon that is the racist/nationalist/fascist bullshit that folks like you are espousing. That’s just suicidal.

Maybe that’s where we’re going, though. We’re a depressed people. Suicide by nationalism would certainly not be the first time a depressed people chose such a path to ruin…

The kid will be thrown under the bus in the name of “Justice”, a sop to a howling crowd. Were I in his situation at the time of the crowd’s assault, I would have reacted similarly…slower in reverse, perhaps, but I would not stop.

When we say various cultural authorities who are we talking about? To my mind it’s not only campus faculties and their speech police auxiliaries but also print publications that also assume for themselves the mantle of moral arbiter and assigner of blame.

It’s truly astounding but these self-proclaimed magistrates, who purport to be the most enlightened of society, the best of the best, the pinnacle of what civilization can do, have been out busily fomenting for a while what we saw in Charlottesville. A lot of people have been saying it, enough with the insults and inflammatory rhetoric. But no, it was full speed ahead.

And so now the self appointed magisterial proclamations all shriek the same shriek: condemn the neo-this, alt-hat. OK, but did the self-appointees happen to notice the guys carrying clubs in the anti-fascist contingent? Clearly visible they were in that video of the car-ramming. What do we suppose the clubs were for? Applied to human skulls these age-old devices can accomplish pretty much what that car did.

Time to have a talk about the shit that pass for wisdom. Should media shut down hate-speech? OK, there’s a lot of hate-speech that maybe needs to be shut down. So maybe start with the butt-hole leakages from supposedly “progressive” media and campuses because if that stuff ain’t hate-speech then find me a better word.

    • Janos Skorenzy August 14, 2017 at 2:40 pm #

Yes, believe it or not, even the idiot who rammed his car may have a case. Some say that his vehicle was being pelted with stones.

Complete silence from the media. Absolute unity against Whites and Trump has bowed to it. This bodes very, very ill for the United States.

Chronicles of the Civil War in the US: McMaster vs Steve Bannon

The state of Virginia declared a state of emergency in connection with the clashes between the so-called alternative-right, which the liberal press characterizes as neo-Nazis, and the AntiFa, whom it describes as extremely leftist, although in fact they are neo-Trotskyites.

And with all my dislike for the neo-Nazis, it was they and the AntiFa who showed yesterday that the liberal blah-blah that they can rock the boat for as much as they want, without eventually overturning it, is a pure idiotism.

And their religious faith that the people will suck it up if the liberals manage to overthrow Trump by manipulating the judicial system, resembles not 1991 in the USSR, but February 1917 in the Russian Empire. And in order to stop this madness you need to start jailing not those who felt their chance that the boat has already rocked quite strongly, but those who have been rocking it for 25 years with a break for Bush and 3 years for Obama.

Moreover, they continue to do this and in the events in Charlottesville they saw an excellent reason to accuse Trump of supporting neo-Nazism and racism on the grounds that he accused both sides of these events, and they demand that he declare alternative-rightists terrorists, and give a pass to the extreme left and Trotskyites and not only in Charlottesville, but also on all future unrest, which they will arrange and meet resistance.

And if Trump succumbs to this pressure, it will be interpreted as repenting that he is supported by neo-Nazis, that is, recognition that he is a protégé of neo-Nazis.

All this translates into a confrontation between the chief strategist of the White House Steve Banon and the adviser for national security McMaster, who was shown on all TV channels, saying what Trump does not want to say, since the special services obviously reported to him that both the “Nazis” and “KKK” were as if from Hollywood and paid for by Soros, and the Trotskyites, who where the initiators of the unrest, apparently paid from the same source.

And when McMaster is outraged by the support of alternative right-wingers by Steve Bannon, who in his films in hatred of Nazism rises to “Ordinary Nazism” by Michael Romm, and in the depths of understanding surpasses him, it’s somehow difficult to forget that McMaster was imposed on Trump as an adviser on national security after the clintonoids succeeded in dismissing General Flynn from this position for ensuring the timely evacuation of Russian diplomats from the United States on January 1, 2017.

And it’s also hard not to remember that these same people, outraged by neo-Nazism in the United States, for some reason, with the same passion, are supporting the outspoken neo-Nazis in Ukraine, Poland, the Baltics, Romania and the republics of the former Yugoslavia.

So do Whites have the right to protest and organize on their own behalf or not? Today’s post describes any such White as a mouth breathing, limbic monster. Thus our whole history is dismissed because assuredly, the Founders were FOR their people and against the Indians and the Blacks. This was prior to any political battle they might be having with other Whites like the English, French, or Spanish.

I watched the first few mintues of the first video, but wasn’t in the mood for the rest. But yes, well done and beautiful. I get the same feeling you describe from old movies, particularly Jimmy Stewart, particularly the murder mystery set in San Francisco. I’m blanking on the title right now.

I regard many sources of “journalism” to be corporate tools, and most journalists to have shit for brains, yet I am still shocked at the across-the-board incomprehension in the press today. They are all trying to sell us the notion that our atrocious president is the cause of the rise of right wing radicalism, when it ought to be obvious that he is merely one of its byproducts.
The right wing assholes duking it out with left wing assholes in Charlottesville yesterday weren’t there hollering because Trump told them to; they were there because the system has hosed them so comprehensively that there is no foreseeable path for their situation to be ameliorated. Voting for Trump, like brandishing swastikas, was just another way for them to express their impotent rage.
Not to be indelicate, they are generally more comfortable with weapons and with the idea of violence than liberals are. I find them more loathsome than the left but, if I were a betting man, I would not bet on the lefties in future skirmishes.

    • tucsonspur August 14, 2017 at 4:36 pm #

Most of the political violence during the last year and a half has been initiated by the Left.

Simply put, the Liberals are mindless pussies. Show them a gun and they’ll start to denounce it as the symbol of phallic dominance, and then go into a diatribe about male insecurity and latent homosexual tendencies.

“…has the flavor of a ‘first shot’ in a new civil war” JHK

It will be flare ups and skirmishes only, until one side or the other decides to purge, and that doesn’t seem close to happening. How would it be organized and carried out?

But the Left continues to attack. Even after Trump specifically called out the KKK and Nazis, the likes of Carl Bernstein and other media mouth pieces aren’t satisfied. And Bernstein is saying that many in the military and Congress consider him unfit for office, hinting again at going the way of the 25th. That would purge Trump only, not the Right. And then, watch the civil volatility index skyrocket.

The modern world is approaching some very important milestone. This is evidenced by the analysis of the world news feed. The fact is that the news tape has been loaded with a variety of information noise, and this, in principle, is a common thing.

But what has been observed for the past six months, after the election of US President Donald Trump, does not fit into any framework.

Information noises have become so strong that they blow out any small attempts to see the real outline of events. And the Russian central mass media in this respect do not lag behind the global ones, which try to obscure the processes that really occur in the world as much as possible, or give absolutely ridiculous to insanity interpretations of what is happening.

The situation in the world has become so acute that two global world parties, both having their center in the United States are ready to go from a cold state, to attempts to jail the leaders of the opponents, either through a coup attempt or a Civil War.

In early August, the political struggle in Washington went into a new plane. Now the administration of the White House and the Trump loyalists, on the one hand, and the opponents of the President, on the other, has set about developing criminal cases against each other.

Thus, the head of the House’s special committee, Devin Nunes, called on the US Attorney General to appoint a special prosecutor on cases involving improper handling of confidential state information by representatives of the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton’s entourage.

If the US Justice Department takes this step, two independent special prosecutors will work in Washington at once. One is on the RussiaGate, i.e., will continue to investigate the surroundings of Donald Trump, the second – for those alleged violations committed by people from the Hillary and Obama teams, as well as from the leadership of the Democratic Party.

    This is an unprecedented case.

In fact, two political forces (not necessarily strictly affiliated with the two leading parties) will investigate each other.

You are deliberately mischaracterizing my proven cure to deter WW3. Upper management is often wicked and insolent but, they are nothing but hirelings for the REAL POWERS of the world.

I am appealing to Vladimir Putin to do his moral duty and eradicate the evil, the avaricious, and THE GUILTY. The ones who have the SOLE POWER to kill off billions for their psychopathic globalist designs! The billionaires.

I AM BETTER for demanding that The Universe mobilize whoever is put on this Earth to combat and eradicate them.

I’ll cite the epic story of ancient times, the Mahabharata. Lord Krishna heard the Earth PLEAD to be relieved of her burden of incarnated demons. To do so would require war on a scale that has not been seen since those ancient times (5000+ years ago). Sometimes, a collective evil is so powerful that extraordinary means are necessary to deter or eradicate them.

Finca, which is better? The deaths of billions following WW3, or, to DETER WW3 by terrorizing and EXTERMINATING (if necessary) the PRIME CAUSE of geopolitical forces driving the world towards nuclear war? The billionaires. The Top 0.1%.

Big deal in the news about teachers dealing with an unruly Autistic kid. I worked in such a school once: no one would bat an eye at this. It’s just what you have to do when they slip into an animal state. The utter disconnect from reality is so typical of our Establishment now. Of course “mom” buys into it, the self righteousness is just impossible to resist.

The rest of the news is nothing but how evil Whites are, including White cops. Their heroism in Cville was only conditional. They have to be hurting Whites or helping Blacks in order to justify their existence.

An open question to Thwack – and Janos – feel free to contribute – I appreciate the candour of you both in your commentary on controversial matters. At the risk of sounding facetious I think my learned colleague, onehunglo might be inclined to say of you both, ‘you wise one(s) indeed’ So my question, Thwack you were asking an earlier commenter (karl dehrmann) if anyone in his family voiced displeasure or disapproval of his marrying someone not of the same racial stock as himself. I did not find your question impudent Thwack, but I do have to ask – have you – for want of a better phrase – tasted the diversity rainbow? That is to say, conducted relationships (intimate or otherwise) with others of another race? Why/why not? If yes, have these experiences altered or challenged your perceptions of racial matters? I ask purely out of interest, not to be insolent or to provoke.

Well…………..for something like 50,000 years the two primary authorities were the family and ( some sort of ) religion .

Then somebody got the bright idea that some stranger who doesn’t even know me might better manage my daughter than I , for some reason , any reason , or really no reason at all.

for a long time after someone got that bright idea, granted , it didn’t really amount to much.
But then people invented flintlocks and safety matches and , I dunno, I guess it went to their heads and they started to think themselves Gods.

” let me own your daughter for a week ‘

Being top of your class at West Point does not make him a good man. It makes him a good cadet. Historians have pondered for years on why General Robert E. Lee has been given a pass. What is the cult of personality around General Lee? Nobody knows. He owned slaves. He fought in the courts to keep them. He was most certainly not an abolitionist. His military exploits are thin at best, and his orders at Gettysburg to take the high ground were idiotic. I have searched and have found no reason to honor this man. None. Yes write about him in the history books, but there is no need to name schools or highways after him.

          Wolfie,
Well, it certainly defines the potential to be a great one. I do recall from the ’60’s that businesses would immediately hire a washout from any of the academies, on the premise that the person had to be of such obvious quality just to having been admitted that they would be far and above the quality of usual applicants.

So Lee owned slaves… All of our heroes have clay feet of one sort or another…Jesus, you act like he was a founding member of NAMBLA. Slaves were, I am sure, a status symbol…just like a pair of Jordan’s, or Thwack’s two Cadillacs. Accounts of his life I have read seem to indicate he was a decent, intelligent human being.

Let the record show that I never owned a slave, nor a pair of Jordan’s…but I did once own a ’57 Caddy…a pink ’57 Caddy.

again I will point out , according to the U.S. governments own census, 90% of those who fought for , suffered for, and died for , the Confederate States of America were not slave owners.

The implied , but never spoken, implication is that to defend yourself when your territory , your neighborhood, your very home, is invaded , is too mean and selfish a motive to warrant respect.

But to invade the home of another, never mind that we don’t even fucking know those people , for some ” Good Cause ” , we cannot trumpet that loudly enough.

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”–John F. Kennedy

On December 6, 1969, the Altamont Speedway Free Festival was held in Northern California, featuring Santana, The Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, and The Rolling Stones. It was supposed to be a West Coast version of Woodstock, which had been held four months before in upstate New York. But Altamont descended into violence and mayhem, with one murder and three accidental deaths, plus countless brawls and petty crimes. Along with the Tate-La Bianca murders a few months before, the events at Altamont were widely trumpeted as the death of the Sixties counter-culture.

I fear that the Charlottesville Unite the Right rally on Saturday, August 12th, will go down in history as the Altamont of the Alt Right. Unless, of course, we do something to stop it.

No, it is not fair. But it wasn’t really fair with Altamont, either. First, you can’t discredit a whole cultural movement by cherry-picking a few unflattering events and proclaiming that they somehow reveal its “essence.” Second, the “murder victim,” Meredith Hunter, turned out to be no victim at all. Hunter, stoned out of his mind on meth, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the crowd, at which point Alan Passaro, a member of Hell’s Angels who had been hired to provide security, stabbed him to death. Passaro was arrested and charged with murder, but the whole incident had been filmed, and he was acquitted on the grounds of self-defense. But by that time, nothing could undo the mainstream media’s narrative, which had taken hold of the public mind.

Fortunately for us, the establishment has lost a great deal of its media control. The truth can get out, if we work hard enough.

So what is the truth about Charlottesville?

First, we need to hold fast to the larger truth that the true cause of racial hatred and violence is, of course, the very diversity that our enemies proclaim as our greatest strength and highest political value, trumping freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and freedom of assembly. White Nationalism is a movement of peace, because we are the only movement that offers a workable solution to racial and ethnic violence–namely, to create racially and ethnically homogeneous homelands for all peoples. Until White Nationalists get our way, there will only be increased racial and ethnic hatred and violence, which the Left will do its best to conceal and to blame upon whites.

Ethnic violence is a feature of diverse societies. The greater the diversity, the greater the violence. Whites are told to learn to love it when Muslims and other non-whites are raping, stabbing, and blowing up whites. Did the Left really think that whites would not fight back? Diversity simply means fewer white people. Did the Left never imagine that we would eventually say no? As non-whites continue to flood our societies, more and more whites will resist, and it will inevitably turn hateful and violent. But that’s not the world we wanted. It is the world that the Left wanted. They’d better learn to love it. Or they can listen to reason and allow us to create the world we want, with separate homelands for everyone. Until that day comes, the political establishment bears 100% of the blame for the hatred and violence that are the inevitable and predictable consequences of their policies.

Second, although the lying press is working overtime to foster the impression that Unite the Right started the violence, blame has to be laid at the feet of the police, the city government, and the state of Virginia. Unite the Right followed the law at every step of the way. When Leftists in the city government pulled the permit for the rally, Unite the Right went to court, and the city was ordered to let the rally continue. At that point, the city government decided that if they could not stop the rally, they would not protect it from the Leftist thugs — antifa, Black Lives Matter, etc. — which, predictably, led to violent attacks against Unite the Right. As Unite the Right entered Lee Park, the police did not separate them from Leftists but made them walk a gauntlet of screaming protesters. When Unite the Right was attacked with pepper spray, as well as potentially lethal weapons like bricks, acid, and an improvised flamethrower, the police did not arrest the attackers. Then, to compound the outrage, the state of Virginia declared Unite the Right an unlawful assembly — even though they had followed the law — but allowed the lawless Leftist mob to continue its work. The police then broke up Unite the Right and dispersed its attendees — again with no police protection — into the arms of the Leftist mob.

At about 1:45 pm on Saturday, 20-year-old James Fields, who had attended United the Right, was involved in a car crash that killed one woman and injured 19 other people. Based on video of the event, Fields was driving through Charlottesville at a normal rate of speed when his car apparently came under attack by the Leftist mob. Perhaps fearing for his safety, Fields stepped on the gas and crashed into a car in front of him. At that point, another video clearly shows a mob of Leftist thugs rushing to the rear of his car, at which point Fields hit reverse and fled the scene. Fields has been charged with second degree murder. Of course the legal presumption of innocence has been completely discarded by the establishment lynch mob, both Left and Right, who are declaring Fields to be a “terrorist,” and are referring to him as “James Alex Fields” as if he were Lee Harvey Oswald.

I hope Fields kept his mouth shut and asked for a lawyer, because if he did, I think he can make a very plausible case that he acted in self-defense. White Nationalists should do everything we can to help him mount an effective defense. As for the victims, they were members of a violent mob, and if that mob attacked Fields, none of them are innocent. Ultimately, though, the city fathers of Charlottesville are to blame.

But let’s consider the worst case scenario: James Fields really is a murderer. Again, we must blame the Charlottesville city government, which turned its city over to violent Leftist mobs. Their goal, after all, was not just to allow Leftists to attack White Nationalists, but to goad White Nationalists to fight back so that the mainstream media could paint us as the aggressors. Even if James Fields is a murderer, it was very much part of the Leftist plan. Moreover, even if James Fields is a murderer, “not all White Nationalists” are murderers. Nothing James Fields did can in any way erase the necessity and righteousness of our cause. Even if James Fields is a murderer, that does not imply that the white race must die.

The lawlessness continued into the next day, when on Sunday the 13th, Jason Kessler, the organizer of Unite the Right, tried to give a press conference. He was attacked by a mob and silenced while police again did nothing.

If the city of Charlottesville had done its job to protect the constitutional rights of Unite the Right to assemble and express its political ideas, there would have been no deaths, no injuries, no violence of any type. Everyone involved in Unite the Right needs to sue the city of Charlottesville for engineering this fiasco. (You can be assured that the Leftists who were injured will try to sue the city for gibs.) We need to get the city government and police brass under oath, find the ringleaders, and demand that criminal charges be pressed.

Unite the Right is being portrayed as a hideous eruption of Right-wing violence. This is a complete inversion of the truth. The problem with Unite the Right is Left-wing violence and Left-wing censorship and deplatforming.

We demand an end to Left-wing violence, censorship, and deplatforming.

We demand that antifa and Black Lives Matter be declared terrorist organizations.
We demand that Air B&B, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon.com, YouTube, and Google be regulated as public utilities so that they cannot deny service to any paying customer on the grounds of ideology.
We demand legislation forbidding all US companies from adopting politically correct terms of service and employment. All private companies must be forced by law to respect freedom of speech and thought.
This is a call to arms. In the coming days and weeks, I want every one of my readers to both speak the truth about what happened in Charlottesville and also use this as an opportunity to impeach the credibility of the mainstream media and the political establishment. You need to speak out among your friends and relatives. You need to speak out on social media. You need to raid comment threads. You need to call into radio shows. You need to hone your talking points and share them with our comrades and allies. And you need to steel yourself for a long, hard fight, because the enemy never sleeps, never takes a day off, and never flags in flogging its lies to the masses. But it will feel good. It will give us back some of the unity, purpose, and camaraderie that we enjoyed during the Trump campaign.

This is only a setback if we allow it to be. We must seize upon it as our chance to expose the lies and hypocrisy of the Left and reassert the righteousness of our cause. This is an Übermensch moment for our movement. An obstacle has been thrown in our path. We need to surmount it. We have been presented with a crisis. We have to turn it into an opportunity.

So what are you waiting for?

Altamont was hailed as the end to the 1960’s because it happened in December of 1969. Duh? Occurring as it did the same weekend as “The Greatest Game,” between Texas and Arkansas for the national championship and attended by Nixon and George HW Bush, and the last major college football game where participants on both teams were all white and the Monday morning arrest of the Manson Family, it makes quite a bookend to the JFK assassination.

      • BackRowHeckler August 15, 2017 at 11:11 am #

Interestingly enough a book came out about Altamont recently; now that really was a Clusterf-ck!. Jagger had a romantic notion about the Hells Angels and a grudge against the police and insisted the Angels and not the cops provide security at the event, so law enforcement was not even aware a concert was occurring until the last minute. The concert was hastily thrown together by shady promoters, some of which were conmen and actual criminals, in a defunct auto race track outside Livermore about 50 miles east of San Francisco. Altamont was about the 3rd choice of venues but all that was available at such short notice. No amenities, no traffic or crowd control and the crowd right up against the bandstand, rampant drug and alcohol abuse, paranoid Hells Angels in charge of security — a job for which they were not even remotely qualified — all tweeked up on meth and beer, it was a recipe for disaster, and disaster did happen. So ended the vaunted 1960s and the Summer of Love, in a bloodbath.

And 400 miles south the Manson family had put their point on the fabulous 60s in their own particular way a few months earlier.

I would like to suggest that we stop referring to stupid people who blindly attack or lash out at others as having “reptile brains”. Most reptiles will shy away from aggressors. Reptiles are most content while basking in the sun, munching on a few tasty grasshoppers (I’ve had them deep fried and lightly salted and they are DELICIOUS!) and tend to scurry away as fast as possible when approached by those who would do them harm (if you approach in a cautious, respectful manner, the will often simply stay put and simply do a few push ups). Now if these latter attributes can be accepted as a proper definition for “reptile brain”, I would have absolutely no problem being referred to in that manner, thank you very much!

Al Sharpton is a man of very…limited gifts.

        • Q. Shtik August 15, 2017 at 6:53 pm #

He DOES have a gift for losing significant weight and then keeping it off. Oprah should be so gifted.

Fox News headline: “Kim Blinks”. Up, down; up, down. One day we’re on the brink of nuclear annihilation, the next day, Kim blinks. Does anyone with a discerning mind really pay attention to this manufactured news bullshit other than to chuckle? If the American public was a marionette, it’d be herky-jerky lurching across the stage, back and forth, back and forth.

In the meantime, world population is shooting up like a rocket leaving the launchpad, our topsoil and cheap oil are being depleted, and virologists around the world are sweating bullets waiting for another lethal virus to make its appearance. But the public’s attention is focused on this weird, little fat guy with the strange haircut because the MSM is diverting Americans’ attention away from the things that really matter. Soil depletion and overpopulation aren’t sexy news, and everyone knows sex sells.

People generally have enough to eat and enough gas to drive down to Walmart’s, so what’s the problem? The most relevant fable now is the grasshopper and the ants. Guess who the grasshopper is?

Survive. Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best. The world will keep spinning its merry way around the sun. We still got 300 to 400 million years before the increase in the sun’s luminosity boils off the atmosphere and oceans. That ought to be enough time to live a productive, happy life.

    • BackRowHeckler August 15, 2017 at 11:25 am #

      Wait a minute Bill.

      400 million more years?

A lot can happen between now and then.

Anyway, you are a voice of reason here my friend.

That’s because we’re not his people. Duh. And his Americanism is provisional, based on how pro-Jewish we are. Do you really think he’d be this calm and cosmic if we were talking about Israel? C’mon guy, get a clue.

      • malthuss August 15, 2017 at 9:58 pm #

Hope for the best. Obama gave the term ‘hope’ a bad name.

Do any of you CFNers remember so much consternation, handwringing and paranoia when, just in the recent past, a BLM inspired street action in Dallas ended up with 5 police officers murdered, Ferguson, Mo got burned down, and in St Louis, during the Ferguson riots, a Croatian immigrant was dragged from his car by a negro mob and beat to death with hammers?

I know, I know, those atrocities were committed in the spirit of righteous indication, wholly understandable, whereas as the action in Charlotte was based on hate and racism. Am I correct on this?

A gold star BRH, for having a memory of something that happened before yesterday.

    • messianicdruid August 15, 2017 at 5:31 pm #

They were all caused by hate, racism and righteous [v]indication.

Needed a few days to digest the proceedings in C’ville.

The forces of historical revisionism are going for the knockout, with their removal action to an equestrian statue of one of the greatest Virginians, but have over-reached with the grave insult to Marse Robert.

Those who do not understand that the War Between The States is integral history to the development of the modern U.S.A. and that it required the mollifying effect of time plus the serious consideration of the valor, courage, and prowess of both adversaries to come to a mutual respect of persons and law. Not good enough for the Social Engineers.

The disparate groups that JHK outlines in his missive do not respect much, as he well point out, at all except their own selfish needs:

    – Colleges do not respect freedom of speech or thought. Just do not permit “conservatives” such as Anne Coulter (whether you like her or not) to speak at the UCal Berkeley.

    – LGBTQQAZ does not respect my right to have a public space free from overt sexual practices parades. Sex practices parades? Well that’s what a “Pride Parade” is, isn’t it? Or to pose the existential conundrum of “what toilet to use today?”

    – Immigration advocates in American and Europe think that their pitiful hordes must be taken care of by those who can better afford it. Why should Third Worlders be responsible for their own political instability, poverty, diseases and, most importantly, population overshoot?

Peoples with an understanding of their own history, cultures and traditions do not like one-bit, politicians, at the behest of “business interests” (Evil Bastard Globalists) to destroy peaceful, prosperous communities or larger societies. Bring in the Somalians and Syrians anyway they direct. WIthin living memory people are becoming well aware that that the program could be labelled European-American demographic destruction. The more visible model would be the demographic destruction of Western Europe itself by powerful enemies of the people – in the cases of the U.K., Netherlands, France, Germany and Sweden: it IS the State which is the enemy itself.

I am expecting some outside influence to provide some gasoline for the next major gathering of the “White Nationalists” (the term utilized by the Ministry of Propaganda.) Perhaps the Pudgy One of Best Korea or our friends over at the JV ISIS club will bring some more potent party favors and get things really going.

The amount of ressentiment and seething anger across the American spectrum, from where I stand, and almost daily experience (roads, stores, at work,) is astonishing — even palpable. An inflammable mixture ready for ignition.

    DEFENSE DE FUMER!

    • BackRowHeckler August 15, 2017 at 11:37 am #

Its a strange thing P, seeing these century old monuments being pulled down. We have some beautiful Civil War monuments here in Connecticut, most of them erected in the 1890s. Who knows, some day this ‘new left’ may turn on those, for whatever reason, and demand their removal and destruction, perhaps the same way, right now in England Winston Churchill is condemned as a ‘fascist’ in some quarters, when in truth he stood alone against fascism for almost 2 years.

Witness yesterday a Confederate Memorial destroyed in Durham SC, and the mob kicking and punching like it was flesh and bone.

There’s some real hatred here, mixed up with hysteria, and in some cases mental illness. Its very disturbing to say the least.

I’m reminded of reading Douglas Southall Freeman, when writing his landmark biography of Robert E Lee, would salute Lee’s statue in Richmond each morning on his way to his office.

Saw a video: the Blacks were pleased but calm. The feral, awkward White goofballs, both male and female, were in a hysteria.

        George Washington owned slaves too?

Are they gonna pull down all his statues too?

Not only that, but he personally vetoed states enlisting “negroes” in the Continental Army; and he used some racist language to do it.

        But,

        but,

while he was telling other people they couldn’t use slaves to help them; he had his own personal trusted negro man servant by his side everywhere he went.

This negro is even in many paintings of Washington.

This black man had so many opportunities to slit Washington’s throat and change history?

He could have killed him in his sleep and galloped off to the British lines in the middle of the night and be a hero to the Crown?

He could have poisoned George Washington and changed the course of the war and history forever?

        Just sayin

        • seawolf77 August 15, 2017 at 3:09 pm #

Most of the Founding Fathers did. All of them, dyed in the wool hypocrites. You can’t write the history of America and not lie, and that has not changed one iota in 250 years. Manifest Destiny. I mean George Orwell himself must have come up with that one.

          • Janos Skorenzy August 15, 2017 at 5:44 pm #

Realists who had to placate the idealistic fools the Puritans were already turning into – aided by the Quakers and other churches as they turned sour (secular).

You can find honest men back then who admitted they conquered, were conquering, or were going to conquer this continent. Far more than later, certainly. But yes, the hypocrisy was there even away from New England. Jamestown was dedicated to Christ and converting the Indians. Some shoot their heads since the colony was founded by adventurers and profiteers. But that couldn’t be admitted. And truly, the Myth gives power by holding people together. As has oft been said, hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to virtue. Far less holds them back now that it is gone.

I found this to be a very good read and it paints a far more compelling truth than what we were taught in school.

What a great man – the nigro that is. Why don’t we pull all Washington’s statues down in favor of him? He didn’t kill a White he could have killed! The nig was a fucking Saint, Sage, and Hero. All of Washington’s virtues flow into him by NOT killing him (Thwack has reversed the primitive believe that you got your enemies virtues by killing him and/or eating him – the earliest beginnings of evolution?).

          • thwack August 15, 2017 at 5:39 pm #

Billy Lee was probably the only person (other than his wife) that George Washington could trust?

The Crown had a price on his head; and we are all familiar with how ambitious white people are always ready to stab each other in the back.

            You know how it goes?

*they smile in your face; all the time they wanna take your place*

Yet we have civilizations and you don’t. You all just never get that far – too “individualistic”. Actually you all tend to be exactly the same: lazy and bad tempered. And proud to boot.

          • seawolf77 August 16, 2017 at 9:04 am #

Pull all of them down. Jordan. Ruth. Pol Pot. Stalin. Ignatius O’Reilly. We don’t need no stinking statues or monuments. We can rename the Washington Memorial to The Big Hard On.
