Just as Regan, the possessed tweenager in the horror movie classic, The Exorcist, vomited streams of green sludge at Father Merrin in the final hours of her extremis, so, in the final weeks of election 2020, the possessed US news media will be boofing “bombshells” against its loathed and detested adversary, the president who attempted to exorcize the demons of the Deep State out of the federal government.

Thus, Democratic Party legal imp, Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance, Jr., or someone on his staff, leaked (illegally) years of Mr. Trump’s tax information to The New York Times as a counterweight to last week’s Senate report on the international grifting exploits of Joe Biden & Family. The difference is that Mr. Trump’s doings represent compliance with the US tax codes while the Biden activities represent payoffs from shady figures in foreign lands for services rendered. The Times and its DNC patrons are calculating that the public will not understand the difference.

It’s whispered that The Times was hoping to unload the tax story much later in the campaign but needed desperately to provide some ammunition for Mr. Biden’s turn in the debating ring with the president on Tuesday night, when both these matters are sure to come up for review. That is, if Mr. Biden dares to show up. Those of you with a taste for history may recall the final hours of another Democratic eminence of yore, William Jennings Bryan, when he was vivisected on the witness stand by Clarence Darrow at the Scopes Trial in Dayton, Tennessee, 1925. Five days later, Bryan dropped dead, and his reputation as a humiliated old fool is much better remembered than his moment of glory in 1896 as a 36-year-old nominee for president (youngest ever).

If Joe Biden does show up at Tuesday’s debate, it will be under at least one severe disadvantage: the contest happens at night. Through the preceding weeks, Mr. Biden’s handlers have “put a lid” on his campaign activities at ten o’clock in the morning more days than not, and sometimes at eight-thirty a.m., before the press pool has even digested its oat-milk honey lattes. “A lid” means the candidate makes no appearances nor is available to the media that day. You have to wonder whether Ol’ White Joe can even function after sundown. Senile dementia typically presents more vividly in the evening. The Biden team may seek to counter that with doses of Adderall, an amphetamine. The side-effects are interesting: “mental / mood changes (such as agitation, aggression, mood swings, abnormal thoughts) uncontrolled movements, continuous chewing / teeth grinding, outbursts of words / sounds, prolonged erections (in males).” Watch for these.

Also watch to see whether Mr. Biden steps onstage wearing his trademark black mask. (Mr. Trump, of course, will not mask himself.) The optic will be two-fold: 1) Mr. Biden has something to hide, and 2) Mr. Biden is a weakling for playing up Covid hysteria. Then wait to see if he pulls the mask down under his chin as though he was acting the role of Abe Lincoln in a middle school history pageant. That will be a visual-to-remember! Also, wait for Mr. Biden to deliver a self-knockout punch to himself when he attacks the President’s Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, for being a Catholic.

There was an uproar of consternation across the red regions of the land on Sunday when Maria Bartiromo announced that US Attorney John Durham is unlikely to report any actions (i.e., indictments) before election day. There is a very good analysis at the news site RedState.com. It boils down to this: Mr. Durham and his fellow US Attorney on the case, Jeff Jensen, received testimony only ten days ago from an FBI agent named William Barnett which alleges in detail how DOJ rogue attorney Andrew Weissmann ran Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation as a “checking function” on the President. (Mr. Weissmann states this explicitly in his forthcoming book.) There is no constitutional basis for this so-called checking function. Rather, it suggests gross illegality. Days after William Barr was sworn in as Attorney General, the Mueller office was shut down. Mr. Barr, apparently, became aware of his old colleague, Robert Mueller’s, pronounced cognitive decline, and was indignant over the hijacking of his Special Counsel mission by Democratic Party activists on-staff. Now, with Mr. Barnett’s testimony, additional witnesses must be interviewed before any cases can be made. So, these matters will have to wait until after the election.

As a tactical election consideration, it is probably for the best, at this point, that there is no appearance of using the Durham investigation as a campaign weapon. It’s unfortunate that it took Mr. Durham so long to unravel the seditious intrigues of RussiaGate, but that only suggests how complex and far-ranging the scheme was, overlapping several agencies, the two houses of congress, and a host of sketchy characters outside of government. Mr. Trump will have to make his case for reelection by other means. Mr. Biden, or rather, his handlers and stand-ins, will make his case by any means.

My God, you’re deluded. You and half the nation that gets it’s information from compromised media “sources.” When 95% of the media coverage of Trump is negative coverage, you know there is widespread coordination of this dis-information, probably by the DNC and perhaps the Deepest State CIA.

The other lie that is not quantified is the lies of omission. Notice that the media is trying hard to ignore the outbreak of peace in the Middle East in recent weeks??? Not covering that is LYING. It’s just the most recent example

    • amb September 29, 2020 at 1:40 am #

No they won’t. What a feckless and inept party. Everything they do is a failure. Pres Trump will have a very big margin win in November. The Dems are circling the bowl and going where all human turds belong.

      • Doug September 29, 2020 at 1:04 pm #

I hope that you’re right. But the elderly Democrat leadership is in the most desperate do or die situation, so their eagerness to cheat knows no bounds. Truth or honesty are not values with The Left.

Biden will show up for the debate and probably perform better than expected, but remember that expectations are already low. However he performs, he will be declared the winner. Trump needs to make his case without seeming to intimidate the old man.
Isn’t it sad that our political system has degenerated to this point; that an electoral cycle depends on theatre?

    • sanspeur September 28, 2020 at 10:16 am #

agreed. POTUS must be very careful not to stomp Sleepy when he is down or he will appear more arrogant that he already does. Not that I wouldn’t love a good stomping of Sleepy.

My bet is that Trump supporters feel disappointed after the debate for missed opportunities while Biden supporters will be hold their breath the entire time Joe is on stage.

      • benr September 28, 2020 at 10:23 am #

I suspect most Biden supporters have not realized just how far gone Joe really is.

      • hmuller September 28, 2020 at 10:28 am #

My guilty wish is that Biden arrives at the debate so pumped up on drugs, he spins out of control into a Captain Queeg moment, raving about “Who ate the strawberries!” or some such incoherent rant.

Watch for it, along with the big boner in his pants (according to JHK). If he starts sniffing Trump’s hair, it’s all over.

        • PeteAtomic September 28, 2020 at 11:23 am #

Biden has 2 major debate problems, imho

Biden suffers from people easily triggering him so he shoots off his mouth reflexively. Trump is great at winding people up. So, Trump might be able to bait Biden into snapping at him and say something incredibly stupid.

The other trouble Biden has is the incoherent ramble. I think we’ll see that playing out, too. He will rattle off for too many minutes with long winded illogical statements that contain a bunch of topics that have no connection with each other.

So, if Trump is able to show (correctly) that Biden neither has the intellect or temperament to be President, he wins the debate.

        • abbybwood September 28, 2020 at 1:00 pm #

          Ha!!

I am hoping Joe will call Trump a dog-faced pony soldier and tell Trump he wants to take him out in back of the barn (as he gestures to the back of the studio) to kick his ass.

“I can kick Korn Pop’s ass and I can kick yours!”

If we are lucky, during the social justice portion of the debate, his wires will be crossed enough that we will get a variant of his now classic “hairy legs, brown kids and roaches” bit, as well as deeply poignant comments on whether “poor kids are just as bright as white kids.”

          I am pumped.

The Punch & Judy Show/theater requires voting for either Punch or Judy because it’s the Punch & Judy Show don’t you know.

Republicans & Democrats all belong to the same party as the media cartels only offer a one party system of oligopoly. If you don’t want oligopoly why are you going to vote for the oligopoly?

Seeing through pea soup is tactically difficult unless one wears special pea soup glasses like Jim wears.

Pea soup propaganda is the way of the world when the Fractional Reserve Banking System is poised to crash into the greatest depression ever bar none.

Frank L. Baum’s Wizard of Oz had paved roads of gold that led to the Wizard’s castle in Oz where one could ask the Wizard how to get back to Kansas if needed.

The Chicago School of Economics, Milton Friedman, and Leo Strauss pretended to be the Wizard of Oz whilst it, and they were still viable prognosticators. Today they are defunct entities and the questions have been answered via debt based asset accumulation where ‘only the little people pay taxes’ to the wizard of the accounts in the Internal Revenue Service just as Liona Helmsley famously stated before she became defunct like her hero Ayn Rand, and Alan Greenspan.

America needs an Exorcist for Jerome Powell as he is the individual with the spinning head that goes around in circles whilst spewing pea soup to taxpayers the world over all whilst informing us daily that Ronald Reagan’s Neoconservatives suck cock in Hell just like their mothers did before them.

If anyone votes for the behemoth serial felon marquee investment banks, or their betters in the Fractional Reserve Banking Empire of the fraudulent Federal Reserve they will be getting what they deserve of the Federal Reserve balance sheet USA deficit, and debt.

Americans have only voted for more debt since 1971. They vote every four years for more debt and less taxation because Americans want their cake as promised via history.

America has a prize for everyone and a piece of cake too as promised, but don’t forget to thank Uncle Sam for his benevolence and dictatorship with the two party system where everyone votes for the oligopoly every time without fail every four years.

P.S. Right-wing radio in CANADA is asking talk radio listeners if they think Trump is a confidence man due to revelation out of the NYT. When right-wing radio starts asking their listeners if they think the US President is a confidence man you know the jig is up for that president and the true fix is in via MSM propaganda campaign.

Biased partisan news and commentary is a bit much IMHO. What happened to the old days of journalism?

        Gone!

Do you recognize the decades long drive by the Left to eliminate the America way of life. They are just about there, the election will be the barometer for the future.

BTW, Trump has thrown a monkey wrench into the works, AKA Amy Barrett. Brilliant move! This Supreme Court is going to cancel the attempted Left swing the Libs want. For a long time

There are a lot of Dem gnashing of teeth. FDR was stymied by his Court for years. Balance of power, something the uniparty Deep State does not believe in.

Otherwise, why would they be screaming? Moral bitterness is a basic technique for endowing the idiot with dignity.

Infinitesimally tiny insignificant neurodork is obviously functionally illiterate if he really thinks ‘obfuscate the discussion’ is appropriate use of the word obfuscate in the instance he is using it.

Obfuscate means to deny by means of whatever bullshit one can peddle. I am in no way whatsoever denying that the USA is in an election year where everyone votes for their pick come November.

In addition, I am not paid to do anything at all as I am a Canadian hoser, eh. And as a Canadian hoser I do what hosers do. I smoke marijuana and drink cold beer whilst smoking contraband cigarettes from the local reserve of First Nations up-the-line in the Ottawa valley.

He has also stated he has all but failed in life because of his ego and delusions of being Brainiac. The fact he believes himself to be a superior intellect to almost anyone around him is his true cause of failure.

As if the rest of the world is going to cut Smoky Joe Bidet any slack.
Simple term “can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen”.

No Trump needs to come at Joe but not make it look personal or angry.

I just saw a Biden commercial where he came off out of breath and angry it was a terrible optic.
The main point of the commercial was to cast doubt on Trumps handling of the scamdemic.
The problem Biden has and the Democrat party has many of their members ridiculed Trump as a racist when he tried to shut down travel from China even as Nancy Pelosi aka twisty da Klown was wandering around parts of Firsco saying come on in the waters fine.

This from the lady that drew on eyebrows at least two inches to far up and halfway down her eyes.

“The difference is that Mr. Trump’s doings represent compliance with the US tax codes while the Biden activities represent payoffs from shady figures in foreign lands for services rendered. The Times and its DNC patrons are calculating that the public will not understand the difference.”

LOOOL!! Hillarious. But true. The left-wing media’s propaganda has become so low grade, so lacking in subtlety, that they betray so unmistakably their disdain for the intellect of the common man.

Or perhaps the ONLY people who still read the NYT are those who are willing to suspend critical thinking in all matters pertaining to politics, ideology, race and gender, and will therefore unquestioningly gobble up this garbage. This is a very REAL phenomenon. I know people whose intellect and judgement I have a great deal of respect for, but who still read the NYT. The marvels of the art of brainwashing! Above the fold in the NYT was the headline 200,000 dead from covid19. In a country of 325 million that makes the fatality rate a terrifying 0.0006. But this simple math is never mentioned nor is it stressed that over 40% of the people who died were in nursing homes.

And with the collapsing economies around the world it’s only logical that the death toll from starvation, exposure, poverty will rise past this quickly. I cancelled my subscription to the NYT years ago after reading every single opinion piece sticking completely to the company line. I’m not surprised they now report nothing else.

      • Captain_Marbles September 28, 2020 at 11:53 am #

Here’s some math for you. Pay close attention.

The US has 4% of the world population. The world is approaching 1 million dead. So, an average number for the US would be 40,000
        We now have 205,000

That orange grifter in the White House is responsible for the difference by any calculation, His tragic stonewalling and denial of science will result in the largest loss of American lives ever.

        Go ahead, spin that one.

        • Beryl of Oyl September 28, 2020 at 11:56 am #

          That 205,000 isn’t a legitimate number.

Mark Twain said there are lies, damn lies, then there are statistics. You like numbers? Google this from the CDC: 94% of US deaths due to Covid-19 had other health problems, co-morbidity factors, an average of 2.6 factors per patient. Then google survivability percentages by age for those who get the virus.

Net result is a typical flu virus, helping to kill mostly people in rest homes who were about to check out anyway. You do know tens of thousands of old people die with help from flu viri every year?

Quit drinking the kool-aid. The MSM lies every day and non-stop!

        • JohnAZ September 28, 2020 at 12:21 pm #

          Okay,

When Trump wanted to close the border with China, he was excoriated by the Left, called a racist and a xenophobic by people who had connections with China. Same with Europe. Once the Dems were done with impeachment, Trump reacted to the growing threat of the crud.

As you said, spin that historical fact.

        • SW September 28, 2020 at 12:36 pm #

This virus is endemic and Sweden recognized early on its low lethality and the need for humans to adapt and develop immunity to it. Elderly immune systems or people with chronic illnesses are going to have a harder time surviving and this is why nursing homes were hit so hard.

I understand why we had the initial lockdown while everyone was scrambling to understand the virus and make decisions but the point I was trying to make is a lot more information is now available for scientists. The numbers are in — it’s not that lethal. And people die from other causes every day, year in, year out. But conditions are now being put in place to cause worse suffering and death in the future.

The world population is 7 billion. One million dead of covid19 = 0.0003 death rate. That’s math too.

        • Mostly Disagreeable September 28, 2020 at 1:37 pm #

Viruses don’t behave like mayo spread evenly on bread. Many variables: health demographics, latitude, existing immunity, density of population, etc. What counts as a “case” is not uniform either. In some places classification as a case requires symptoms, not a mere positive test; you will get “positives” when the PCR test is run to 40+ cycles–and in many countries they are run to only 30 cycles. All-cause mortality excess deaths and recovery rates are what matter.

          Flu d’etat.

        • UN OUT OF USA September 28, 2020 at 6:38 pm #

Your math is based on false data. We do NOT have 205,000 covid deaths. We have had 205,000 people die where the “authorities” CLAIM is was due to covid. There are many, many articles out there across all states that prove they are over counting “covid deaths”. People who die in motorcycle crashes have been classified as “covid deaths”. People who died from diabetes have been classified as “covid deaths”. People who died from natural causes have been classified as “covid deaths” simply because they tested positively for covid, post mortem (even though it nothing to do with what caused them to die). “Go ahead, spin that one”. How about, grow up and pay attention. Your starting assertion is bogus.

        • jeff2002 September 28, 2020 at 10:12 pm #

The numbers are highly inflated for two reasons:

          1) The CDC in March issued new (and very broad) guidance on ICD coding for registering deaths, which oddly enough applied only to Covid-19 and resulted in “a very liberal approach to mortality” according to Dr. Deborah Birx of the White House Coronavirus Task Force. One study I read concluded that if hospitals had followed the standard Medical Examiner’s and Coroner’s Handbook, instead of the wonky new guidance, the Covid fatality count would be 90% lower.

          2) Hospitals were incentivized to diagnose Covid-19 for anyone displaying the very broad list of symptoms. Medicare reimbursed $39,000 for a diagnosis with ventilator treatment, and $13,000 for a diagnosis without. (Garden-variety pneumonia gets a paltry $4,600.)

Of course, cases are driving the mania now more than deaths, since deaths have long since peaked. The case numbers are also hugely inflated due to the faulty PCR test, but that’s another topic.

          Anyway. Spun.

      • Beryl of Oyl September 28, 2020 at 12:05 pm #

Speaking of the nursing home deaths, I saw somewhere that a couple of CEO types were arrested for endangering residents by mixing in sick people.
It was in the NYT, they called them “leaders”:
        https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/25/us/veterans-home-holyoke-covid.html?smtyp=cur&smid=tw-nytimes

Andrew Cuomo is still out walking around, he and the head of his health department are declining to provide public records on the upwards of six thousand deaths related to what was, at the very least, a poor decision.

It’s too close to the election. The head of New York’s department of health is not an elected position, last time I looked.

A lot is going to depend on the questions and how they’re phrased. The classic “when did you stop beating your wife?” can also be asked as “there are reports that you have beaten your wife — are these reports true or false?” My guess is there will be plenty of loaded questions to make Trump look like a junkyard dog and Biden, an elderly statesman.

And I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the questions were not given to the Biden team early to map out coherent answers. Donna Brazile did that for a townhall meeting for Hillary and got caught. Of course, she just blew it off as “no big deal.”

  16. PeteAtomic September 28, 2020 at 11:10 am #

One of the themes in the blog today is the cognitive decline of America’s top leadership.

Biden, Mueller, Pelosi, Schumer, McConnell, Trump– all of these people are elderly. Schumer is the youngest at age 69, and he is about to turn 70 in November.

In most fields or careers in the country, all of these people would have been retired years ago. However in the US, for whatever reason, we have people in advanced ages making the most politically important decisions. This certainly has advantages. Elderly people generally are wise, thoughtful, and prudent. But there are some disadvantages, too. Due to cognitive decline, elderly people can show a lot of unnecessary inflexibility & irrationality, and suffer from difficulty forming coherent opinions or arguments.

Joe Biden appears to display much of the latter, with little of the former of these characteristics. He is neither particularly wise nor prudent, although he maybe artificially shows kindness towards others on occasion. When he is unscripted & is more free to argue on his own– Biden more often then not appears confused & befuddled, and sometimes becomes wild eyed and almost hysterical, as in his “you know the thing” moment. He replaces argument with the phrase “c’mon, man!”

He is a man often on a form of cerebral auto-pilot. When I watch Biden speak, I wonder how much of the part of his brain just north of the medulla oblongata is in control– since much of his frontal cortex has been destroyed by too much Irish whiskey & the smell of the perfume women spray around the base of their necks.

    • Beryl of Oyl September 28, 2020 at 11:27 am #

The reason for that is, these elderly people are the ones behind the financial and other instances of criminality on a global scale.
Should they step aside for the next generation, as would normally occur, they can’t take the chance that someone not yet corrupted might get in there and start asking questions.

Hence that Hillary/Jeb non-choice planned for the past election.

Even Bernie was seen by the Democrats as too insufficiently compromised to be trusted, thus the rigging of primaries against him.

Look at the treatment of Tulsi Gabbard.

BTW, Bernie is as corrupt as they are, he just thinks that deceiving the public is okay when his side does it.

      Pete,

Nail on head, about age of our ruling class – a Geriatocracy. There have to be plenty of 40, 50 & 60 year-olds, capable of managing the country, with capable elders in a counseling or advisory capacity.

Only one woman I detest more than Nancy Pelosi, HRC. However, and this may sound sexist, but not – it’s not behavioral, it’s in my DNA – but I have a custom made t-shirt emblazoned “Pelosi: At 40 hot, at 80 not.” Meant to convey the same message, in a triggering sort of way. Gets a lot of mileage and tantrums du jour from the local Lefties.

Maybe it’s not the Adderall, maybe Sleepy Joe gets his prolonged erection from following Nancy Pelosi around like the gaggle of cucks including Schumer, Nadler & Schiff, that are always following her around, two steps behind in her entourage.

We’re becoming like the old Soviet Politburo, questioning whether some members are actually alive, or just being propped up.

So, let’s see if I got this straight – Mr. Kunstler – expert extraordinaire in every subject broached on these pages, has decided on the basis of his extensive tax expertise that the country’s premier grifter was 100% compliant in his returns, having not seen them and taking about 12 hours to decide the veracity of them.

Is that the sort of thing being peddled on this site today?

    • Beryl of Oyl September 28, 2020 at 11:19 am #

It is very hard to gauge what the general public thinks of Joe Biden’s candidacy.

Maybe that’s because the electorate is walking around in muzzles, kept apart from each other, and not allowed to gather anywhere they might be able to exchange ideas with people they don’t already know?

The Internet is only remaining town square. But of course it tends to be very segregated by site and censor. To really talk with someone, you have to share premises. Yes, that will undoubtedly be Trump’s legacy, just as penned by JHK. What a hilarious turnaround for you Jim. From tepid liberal to anti-wokester neo-con in just a few months. Sure, you make some valid points about Biden, but the “old white Joe” bit was funny once, but now it’s just identitarian drivel for Fox and Friends insiders. I guess that handout from The American Conservative showed you where the money was.

Artie– I’m leaving your comment up so readers can see how scurrilous my antagonists are. But I’m kicking you off the comment section from here forward. — JHK Admin

    • PeteAtomic September 28, 2020 at 11:47 am #

Mr. Kunstler can speak for himself, but I’d argue Jim is no neo-con. The neo-con position is pro-globalist, pro-multinational corporatist, and believes in the neo-imperialist control of geographical strategic areas of the world by direct US military power.

One example of a neo-con, among many (many of whom were in the Bush I and II admins btw) would be John Bolton.

      • hmuller September 28, 2020 at 12:23 pm #

True, JHK is no Neo-con. But if he start banning people for such mild criticism, he’s no better than the social media censors at YouTube, Facebook, Google, et al.

        • Robert White September 28, 2020 at 12:32 pm #

It’s Jim’s blog and he can ban anyone he wants to because he pays the freight, hmuller. It’s one thing to disagree with Jim politely as opposition, but to characterize him as being a toady is throwing down the gauntlet for a fight when one is not warranted because Jim is merely writing opposition research to combat what he feels is much more egregious opposition research from the other side of the coin that he is not going to vote for out of integrity for what he feels is better governance forward for his own country.

Don’t ever forget that Jim is American and entitled to his perspective whether it is liked or not by opposition punditry.
Additionally, Jim is a veteran writer that has been around the block more times than his detractors have by far bar none.

That why I follow him as a writer.

    • PeteAtomic September 28, 2020 at 11:57 am #

Trump is not a neo-conservative, either.

Trump is a populist, civic nationalist. There can be right leaning or left leaning populists. Teddy Roosevelt comes to my mind as a more populist President.

One of my major criticisms of Trump is that I wish he were more like Teddy Roosevelt– and be more of a trust regulator, amongst other things.

President Trump is crippled mentally by his overwrought text book Psychopathy whereas Roosevelt was crippled via disease that robbed him of strength in his legs, but not his mental faculties to govern peaceably. In Trump’s case his mental faculties have disabled him from leadership via a lack of predictability for what he might do next to get more attention for his failing self-worth measured in ratings from Hollywood.

I remember another time when masks figured into a post-911 attempt to instill fear into the populace.

Anyone else recall those risible color-coded threat-level charts during the Bush Administration?

We were told, at one point, that we ought to seal a room in our homes off with plastic sheeting and duct tape.
“They” were planning gas attacks, yes they were, don’t worry, the FBI is on it, we can’t tell you any more than that, just trust us to “keep you safe”, but as a precaution, get that room ready.

What confused me at the time was not just the talk of “masks” i.e. those dust mask thingies being somehow capable of providing any sort of protection at all in the event of such an attack, but that Sally Quinn, of all people, actually wrote in a column that we should all be carrying one with us at all times.

I’m not confused about that anymore, because she wrote this garbage in the Washington Post, and I am no longer confused about the Washington Post.

So, there you go, historic precedent for worthless masks being advocated, to instill fear.

Masks have one purpose, to block vectored flow of droplets when distancing is not possible. Mask wearing outside of this is dumb and unnecessary. The continuing spread of this crud is not droplets. Enough folks are mitigating to block this avenue of transmission.

Think airborne and get rid of politics. Acceptance of airborne so significantly changes the game plan that the polity is ignoring it. Why? Easy, there is no solution. Acceptance of airborne is a life changer.

Taxes have become oppressive in our society, so much so that corporation left in droves during the Obama years, encouraged To do so by the administration. They got what they wanted, people more dependent on the government.

It is the job of all the business base to minimize their tax load. Trump was doing his job hiring folks to decrease his load. Bezos, Gates etc, all the Liberal minions have not paid taxes for years of any amount reflecting their wealth.

Yes and as such Capitalism is utterly unfit to have much say on things in a viable society. Profit just doesn’t cut it. That’s the attitude that lead to offshoring our industrial base so a few people could make a lot of money.

      • sophia September 28, 2020 at 5:24 pm #

        Sredni,

How does national socialism control the greed of capitalists? Capitalism can work fairly well if they are reigned in. The issue with corruption in capitalism, it seems to me, is the tendency to eliminate the competition, which is the only way for capitalism to be a good system.
Also, perhaps our country really is too diverse in values. Money is the over riding goal. That obviously is morally bankrupt.

What do you folks think of the Platinum Plan? Bending the knee to BLM rioters or just pandering to get votes? reparations?

    • SW September 28, 2020 at 7:52 pm #

I don’t know what the Platinum Plan is but bending the knee whether to BLM rioters or on a football field is not for me. I’ve never asked anyone to kneel before me and never will — they may not be my “equals” in superficials but they certainly are as human beings, as am I, theirs. If we don’t ever get past this I don’t know how it can be resolved. MLK whom I know is considered a Marxist by some, summarized it in one sentence — We learn to live together as bothers or we perish together as fools. And that, to me, is the unvarnished truth. Ghetto culture is suicidal and nihilistic but only blacks can say so without being castigated and only they can reject it and fix it. White culture has been materialistic and shallow and all real education of children abandoned — look at the privileged students in the top universities and the inanities that come out of their mouths.

As for reparations, the history of America doesn’t support it. The South was agrarian and the wealth created by slaves was destroyed in the Civil War. The wealth created after it was industrial based on cheap energy such as coal. The conditions in the coal mines and the debt peonage of the miners and their families were also generational tragedies in some way comparable to slavery (though nothing was worse than slavery where family members could be sold).

      • elysianfield September 29, 2020 at 6:03 pm #

“(though nothing was worse than slavery where family members could be sold).”

        SW,
        Really? Nothing?

Millions of men were conscripted to fight in WWII…millions of men who were ripped from their mother’s arms, by law, put into harm’s way, and killed.

Slavery was ugly…but the worst? Read what the Japanese did in China during WWII. Read what the Chinese endured during their great famines…they, and their neighbors ate each others children, by agreement.

        Perspective.

    Seeing Through Pea Soup

The middle east is still ablaze from the effects of Sykes-Picot.
The far east is a tender keg from the machinations of the partition of Korea.

The citizens of the U.S. have been lied to about every dimension of finance and foreign policy since 1945, and those completey immersed in the fabricated reality are incensed by the lack of veracity exhibited in our current electoral cycle. Anyone remember Carlin’s remark about the American Dream?

Surely there must be some method the connect the leak of The American in Chief’s tax files and the fate of Mr. Assange. Naw that would be to close to truth, justice and the american way. Oh yea, that is the American Dream.

Yes, it’s unfortunate that it took Durham so long. It could cost Trump the election. He may be fighting a drugged up Biden and a warthog in Wallace.

Saw Donna Brazile, the former acting chair of the Democratic National Committee on Fox news again yesterday, somehow arriving there after scandalizing CNN by offering questions to candidates in advance of town halls or debates back around 2016. Anything goes, does it not?

Now sporting the look of a silvery sage with a stylish coif, she offered the usual barrage of banalities, saying things like Biden is okay in spite of his gaffes, and that the people know and like him because he’s been vice president for eight years and in the Senate for decades. A real well of wisdom, belonging more on a pancake box or maybe discharging her duties as beadle in some dusty old church.

She also praised Chris Wallace and then I really started to worry. I think that Mr. Wallace is more concerned about his reputation and his legacy than the fate of the nation, and so will pummel and press Trump on the virus, and now maybe also on taxes. If Trump responds with his usual ‘fake news’ fanfaronade, he’ll appear like nothing less than a purblind, paunchy, pathetic, punchinello.

He won’t be able to regain his grip on the TWATs (Trump weary and tired). Woke hordes will blaze and blade onto the ice that Trump himself has already begun to crack beneath his feet. Generals will be made cowards, just puffy poltroons with tarnished stars, by careers and the constitution. Is there enough patriotism left in the vox populi to save the day on November 3rd, or will it have been silenced by the fear and worry created by BLM and Antifa?

Trump’s New York hustle is becoming hackneyed, hair raising, and harrowing. Timely pre-election, paradoxical health care executive orders, talk of permanent payroll tax cuts and vaccines before the election, etc., all seem daffy, desperate and disingenuous. How many feel hi-jacked by his hustle. The hustle that may give us Harris? We’ll soon find out.

    • hmuller September 28, 2020 at 5:09 pm #

I remember in 2016 “debate moderator” Lester Holt jumped right in there and challenged things Trump said, effectively making it a 2 on 1 debate. He never questioned a thing Hillary said. Holt has demonstrated the same “journalistic integrity” (LOL) these past 4 years.

      • tucsonspur September 28, 2020 at 9:03 pm #

Trump simply can’t take any you know what. He has to whack the weasel Wallace if necessary and take control of the debate.

Back in the day, my grandma had what was then called a “nervous breakdown”. He’s lived a full life at 94, the details of which i won’t go into. Grandma lived ’til 96. Good genes?
Maybe. I prefer to believe faith and attitude made them strong.

Trump has attitude, for sure. It’s just ill-conceived and misplaced. it’s truly sad to watch this whole mess unfold and it’s wrecking our democracy.

    Hi Mr. Kunstler,
It is amazing how much “vomit” the NY Times can “bombshell” when it actually has things to “bombshell.” I have no doubt in my mind that if this had been shared about Joe Biden, you would see it as a vindication of everything you have ever thought of him! But, it is Donald Trump, so there is nothing to see there.

The Senate Inquiry you touted as being a nail in the Biden campaign a couple of weeks ago turned out to be a “whatever” moment no matter how hard the right tried to gin it up otherwise. Why do you think that this latest “bombshell” from Redstate will actually be a “bombshell” rather than wishful thinking?

As for the debate, Mr. Kunstler, I will make you a bet: if JB doesn’t show, I get to read a book (old-fashioned of me, I know) you want me to read (as long as it holds to commonly understood norms of propriety) but if he does show, you get to read something I suggest. And this would be done within a month or so (so the book can’t be overly large). We would report what we thought of the read–positive and/or negative–here on your site. You up for it?

    • Night Owl September 28, 2020 at 5:44 pm #

Pres Trump should’ve publicly refused to debate Biden on the grounds of compassion, fairness, and not to futher this blatant example of elder abuse. Then, when the Dems and MSM, attacked The President, for cowardice, etc. The President could’ve said something to the effect of, “Ok, if you insist. But I’m very much against this. Yet, this is all about my re-election, my MAGA agenda, my foreign policy, etc. and I must fight as hard and as effectively as I can to ensure this all goes forward for the good of the USA and its people. I must attack and take no prisoners. It is my duty. Thus, when Mr. Biden becomes collateral damage it will be no fault of mine; it will be yours.”

Engage in revolutionary acts. Cause Republican lawmakers to rush into ‘safe spaces’ and fear people they used to dismissively refer to as ‘sensitive snowflakes.’ ”

“Compensation paid to the Employee for the services rendered by the Employee as required by this Agreement will include a wage at a rate of $1,500 per week.”

“The Employee’s primary place of work will be at the following location: Any space where Republican lawmakers are attempting to hold a meeting with ‘Constituents.’ Employee shall be a ‘Constituent’ of said lawmaker, but won’t count because ‘Employee’ is a Paid Liberal Protester, as detailed in ‘Job Title and Description’ and as announced by frightened lawmaker.”

“The Employee will be entitled to the following benefits: Retirement Savings Plan, full health coverage and free tuition at qualifying Universities.”

“Employer shall not discriminate against any Employee as long as said Employee is one of the following: an anarchist, a Marxist, a communist or a member in good standing of the left-wing Socialist brigade.”

The good old Scopes Monkey Trial. A famous example of Fake News avant la lettre.

To me, this careful fakeness and it continued propagation is the most interesting part of the Trial: the amount and kind of all the deceit involved in its prosecution and then for the pile-on of even more deceit involved in its pseudo-re-telling in the Hollywood movie, “Inherit the Wind”, which is stil trotted out in propaganda today as if it were anything other than gold-plated bullshit.

The Scopes trial (1925) is also interesting because of the involvement of the ACLU, making an early appearence in its now-long history of supporting any project that undermines local authority, stable government, American sovereignty, and the right of the USA to control its own immigration policy. And of course that is not to overlook its longstanding commitment to making the USA vulnerable to communism.

People interested in the early days and first apperance of the ACLU might research the “Palmer Raids” – here is a link to the WIki account.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palmer_Raids

The Palmer Raids were a series of raids conducted in November 1919 and January 1920 during the First Red Scare [it was of course not some mere “scare”, but was in fact a highly organized campaign of communist revolutionary industrial action backed by terror- Kim] eras by the United States Department of Justice under the administration of President Woodrow Wilson to capture and arrest suspected leftists, mostly Italian and Eastern European immigrants and especially anarchists and communists, and deport them from the United States.

The raids particularly targeted [by “targeted” Wikipedia means “caught” – Kim] Italian immigrants and Eastern European Jewish immigrants with alleged leftist ties, with particular focus on Italian anarchists and immigrant leftist labor activists. [ Wiki fails to mention here that most of the 556 who were deported were members of the “Union of Russian Workers”, a terrorist group that had included Emma Goldman and Alexander Berkman and had been behind the attempt to kill Henry Clay Frick during the Homestead Steel Strike of 1892 – Kim]</b]

The raids and arrests occurred under the leadership of Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer, with 3,000 arrested. Though 556 foreign citizens were deported, including a number of prominent leftist leaders, Palmer's efforts were largely frustrated by officials at the U.S. Department of Labor, which had authority for deportations and objected to Palmer's methods. [Sound familiar?]

The Palmer Raids occurred in the larger context of the Red Scare, the fear of and reaction against communists in the U.S. in the years immediately following World War I and the Russian Revolution.[1] There were strikes that garnered national attention, race riots in more than 30 cities, and two sets of bombings in April and June 1919, including one bomb mailed to Palmer’s home.” [Again, sound familiar?- Kim]

Another related interesting factoid that mght be noted here is that in 1923 the US Communist Party had 15,000 members but only 5,000 of them spoke English! Of course, even in these early days, Comintern was already operating in the USA.

The basic facts of communist activiities in the United States are historically so consistent.

And so there are the roots of the ACLU.

But the material of the Scopes Trial was also interesting. The Scopes textbook that was under consideration in the trial was Hunter’s A Civic Biology, which

“divided humanity into five races and ranked them in terms of superiority, concluding with “the highest type of all, the Caucasians, represented by the civilized white inhabitants of Europe and America.”

A Civic Biology asserted that crime and immorality are inherited and run in families, and that “these families have become parasitic on society. . . . If such people were lower animals, we would probably kill them off. . . .

[W]e do have the remedy of separating the sexes in asylums or other places and in various ways preventing intermarriage and the possibilities of perpetuating such a low and degenerate race.”

The lab book, at Problem 160, asks students to use inheritance charts “[t]o determine some means of bettering, physically and mentally, the human race,”…”

    https://www.namb.net/apologetics/resource/debunking-the-scopes-monkey-trial-stereotype/

I wonder why the Hollywood filmmakers did not see fit to emphasize this aspect of this part of the classroom material that they otherwise so vociferously propagandized for?

    • hmuller September 28, 2020 at 7:24 pm #

Interesting. So if Scopes believed the textbook he chose to use, he was a racial eugenicist, what some might call a Nazi. Hope they put that into the movie remake.

    • BackRowHeckler September 28, 2020 at 9:24 pm #

Speaking of commies of that period, in 1920 the feds rounded up about 200 of them, (including Rosa Luxemborg) put them on a freighter, and shipped them to Russia.

I have a book here about Americans who emigrated to Russia 1920-1938, by force or willingly. Out of the tens of thousands, very few made it back, less than a half dozen. Almost all of them perished in the gulag archipelago, or in the execution pits around Moscow and Leningrad.

“….but that only suggests how complex and far-ranging the scheme…” is!

Indeed! The scheme is as big as not allowing for humans an understanding of the basics of Life – Energy and Energy scarcity – since early coal in the 1700s!

The Tragedy of the Commons is not something any particular system can claim the ability to fix, but rather a law of Physics and what makes Life tick.

It is much productive for humans to understand the root cause of the problem and live with it rather than leaving the civilisation playing an acrobat and juggler, like who plays chess with himself pretending magic that makes the problem go away – century in century out.

Control needed to keep the civilisation a one-body of governance and one social contract – is energy-intensive, well beyond the little remaining fossil fuels reserves.

The civilisation is required to dissolve itself peacefully and with dignity – Centralisation proves too much Energy-intensive!

Not dissolving itself leaves the civilisation delusional even more than its citizens – which turns the Tragedy of the Commons for all humans even more tragic.

    Wail.

The entirety of the formerly Ottoman regions have still not become modern democracies and I don’t expect they ever will.

What we are seeing is clan-based poliical activity, or in other words, gangsterism. There is nothing ideological or even really religious about it. It is just naked greed backed by naked violence.

It is like Chechnya, or Somalia, or Minnesota. There are a handful of clans who manage to get their hands on the levers of power and enrich themselves and exclude and potentially (literally in Chechnya) enslave all others.

Kim, in US cities that are going ahead with the ‘defunding the police’ agenda, Seattle and Minneapolis, and to a certain extent LA & NY, it is street gangs — some of them well financed and international in scope — that will emerge, keeping order, providing muscle, establishing authority … don’t want the windows smashed in your restaurant, anti racist mobs are storming your house, can’t drive your car on public streets: pay the Gangster Disciple rep at gang HQ on 3rd Street, he’ll take care of the matter.

Gangs will be closely linked with lefty Mayors and City Councils, providing security and muscle for them personally, too. Any criticism of the arrangement will be written off as racism and fascism.

Ilhan Omar is a perfect example of the diminishing returns of immigration AND yet another harbinger that democracy is a direct path to death. Why is Ilhan Omar, a person who has constantly and consistently stated that she hates America and wants to see it completely destroyed, allowed to serve in public office? She has brought a festering rot of third world tribal corruption and fraud into the political scene and it is the Democrats and the Republicans fault for all of it. Both parties have failed this country in totality. And thus millions of Ilhan Omars have easily gained access to the country and still do right now! But Ilhan Omar is also a perfect poster child for the billionaire oligarchs themselves. A person who has enriched herself off of the people consumed and killed each day with hopelessness, drug overdoses, and crime, all the while condemning the system that elevated her to power. A perfect parasite to represent all the power parasites. The Democrats and the Republicans are in breach of the social contract. That’s not just politics. The fact that someone like Omar is where she is proves that the system does indeed need to be deconstructed and dissolved. Only the foolish build their house on sand.

Right on. And she’s much worse than a Donna Brazile who I mentioned above. A Mao like purge, our own cultural revolution led by those who genuinely love this country and who can lead us towards true Nationhood is needed.

We live the nightmare however, and not the dream, knowing that we have been used and abandoned.

      • SoftStarLight September 29, 2020 at 11:30 am #

Yes, Donna Brazile is a major opportunist which actually speaks volumes about Fox News. And I agree with your impressions regarding Chris Wallace. He is ultimately a tool and shill for the Elite and he will assist Biden and hamper Trump at all possible points. Trump will win if he transcends their game completely. There is no where else for TWATs to go in the current setup IMO. There is at least a chance that Americans can organize and revitalize if Trump gets four more years. It will still have to be a revolution as you say. BUT If he doesn’t, we know “their” plan is to crush the remains of America to death for once and all.

      Good post.

If you let every ethnic group into this country, why are you surprised that the country loses its identity.

Culture is based on many more things than just the law. There is no American culture any more.

Do you think this might be a problem with the protestors? Looking for something to believe in, to identify with.

What does that flag represent to the younger generations.

Uncontrolled Immigration is the bane of a culture. It destroys every regime that allows it to occur.

Back in the day, I took a college course called ‘Religion In Primitive societies’ (I know, by today’s PC standards the title is unacceptable, but this was in 1965). We studied several religions, like the Cargo Cult. The relevant one is for the Hawaiians. A few hundred years ago, their religion was taboo-based. Certain things and objects were taboo. At first the religion was good and useful, e.g., it’s taboo to touch this poisonous plant. But as the years went by, more and more things became taboo until almost everything was taboo, and the society became dysfunctional. At that point, the populous revolted and overthrew the village elders and ended the religion.

Sound familiar? Today, our government has made society dysfunctional. It’s inevitable that our system will be kicked out and replaced by something more appropriate for the times. See, it can be very useful to study events through history.

    • SoftStarLight September 29, 2020 at 11:39 am #

Isn’t it ironic that the state constantly lectures and chides the population that there is no place for religion (code for Christianity) in the state, and yet the state enforces mandatory Wokester religion and Islam in all areas of life. So in addition to being an oppressive tyranny it is an openly hypocritical tiered system. It doesn’t deserve survival.

One Amazonian tribe converted to Christianity because their religion of “birds” was killing them. Birds were considered omen bearers of the gods. So if you saw a bird, you had to stop everything you were doing. So every time they tried to go hunter/gather, a bird would interrupt them. “Too many birds” was the reason the Chief gave for their conversion.

Now obviously this is a late development as in corruption. It couldn’t have always been like this or they would have died out long ago. It’s evidence for the general downswing even of cultures not associated with the dying West. It’s in the air or stars. It really is Kali Yuga or the Iron Age.

Lame Deer’s son, John Fire Lame Deer, talked about this trend among the Sioux. Animals can be message bearers of the spirits, but only when they are acting strangely. Otherwise they are just animals. He noticed his people making idols and spooks out of animals who were just acting like ordinary animals.

And just silly stuff like when the car wouldn’t work for a road trip to the Pow Wow it must be a curse. He would ask them, When was the last time you had the car serviced?

Long time ago I read a RAND report “Operational Code of the Soviet Politbureau” trying to figure out what dem damn Commies are up to.

There was a simple description of power balance in the Soviet Union:

A table with 3 legs is more stable than a table with 4 legs, hence the Soviet Triangle of Power.
There are 3 powers-Army,Party and the KGB.If one of them becomes too powerful 2 others conspire and put it back in place.

Say,after WWII Marshal Zhukov started making noises about Generals becoming Presidents in the US.Soon after those noises were overheard he was relieved of his Minister of Defence post, banished from Moscow and shipped to remote Military District.

Thats how power balance is presently maintained in Mexico:

Cartels & Local LE fight Federales
    next month-
Local LE & Federales make truce and start fighting Cartels
    month after that-
Federales and Cartels make unofficial cease-fire and start popping off corrupt local LE

It was supposed to be like that in the US:Executive,Legislative and Judiciary branches provide perfect checks and balances. But the way things are going now it looks like total absolute madhouse.

A Turkish F-16 shot down an Armenian, Russian made fighter yesterday. Greece and Russia have offered support to Armenia but haven’t deployed any troops yet; it appears armaments of both Azerbaijan and Armenia come mostly from Russia. Turkey is a NATO country, so I think if Turkey and Russia get into it, we would be obligated to assist Turkey. But this conflict seems to be shaping up as Orthodox Christians vs Islam as much as anything else. Iran and Syria have offered militia troops to assist Azerbaijan, which in itself, considering Syria just emerged from 10 years of Civil War, is quite astonishing. Jim has written about these east-west flashpoints — in Yugoslavia, at the eastern edge of the Med, in Georgia. This reminds one a little of events in Sarajevo in the summer of 1914, especially when one considers the high tensions that have exist between Turkey and Greece for about the past year. This little war on the far edge of the western world may just die out, or it may spread into something catastrophic.

    • Kim September 29, 2020 at 9:05 pm #

      @ BRH

The reasons for the start of WW1 have always baffled me, ever since I was a kid at school, so in recent years I have put some effort into reading all about it to find out why.the.fuck.

And you know what I have discovered? That it came about mostly because the leaderships of the countried involved were selfish, self-glorifying, narcissistic morons.

This is an unsatisfactory answer for me because I hoped or expected to discover that it was over someting sophisticated and perhaps multi-factorial issue/s like resources or trade routes or it was a consequence of modernizaton or demographic change or something like that.

But uh-huh, no. It all came about as it did because, in the first instance, Franz-Joseph I of Austria, Alexander II of Russia and Wilhelm II of Germany were all morons of the highest order. They were three royal idiots and were all masters of fucking things up. Everything they ever touched turned to shit.

All three of them was raised in a completely unrealistic, narcissism-affirming environment where they constantly wore military uniforms and played with toy soldiers. They were completely cut off from real life and what war would mean for real people. They were obsessed with impossible dreams of national and dynastic glory fulfilled on the field of battle. But of course, they would never themselves ever have to risk their lives in battle.

By the way, in the course of my reading mission I came across a great book on the Habsburgs.

The Habsburgs: To Rule the World by Martyn Rady

      You can get it here:

      http://www.ebook3000.com/Biographies/The-Habsburgs–To-Rule-the-World_640009.html

The Habsburgs are another one of those rather confusing things about European history. They were involved in everything but they had those spread-out, non-contiguous lands, they ruled in Spain and in Austria, and in the Balkans, in the New World, during the Thirty Year War…all very confusing.

Well, this book sorted all of that out for me very clearly. Well written. Informative, Highly recommended.

It really sucks, doesn’t it? Nothing from Durham or the phlegmatic, bloated Barr to help Trump at this critical hour, but the NYT can give Biden Trump’s tax records right before the debate.

I don’t see how Trump can win it tonight, up against the virus, his taxes, an earpiece or drug, and the weasel Wallace. It’ll be difficult for Trump to shake the little wormy weasel. But he’s surprised us before, and he just might do it again.

Will there be any openings for Trump, any segues to get at Biden where he is weak, that’s the question. Maybe start by requesting an earpiece check, go on offense, get under his skin from the outset.

My prediction for round 1; If Biden is braced, brassy, and pretty much blunder free, Trump’s butt is kicked from NY to Mar a Lago.

      Who’s winning? Really?
This isn’t any sort of a debate for exchange of views, edification, clarity of platforms or agendas, or any such thing.
You had a better chance of witnessing a fair and constructive debate back in high school.
This presidential “debate” exists in a world of power plays, special interests, greed, sabotage, propaganda, manipulation, et al.
Thus, the “debate” is meaningless. Invalid.

        – All three victims were taken to a local hospital, but the mother succumbed to her injuries

        – The grandmother and the small boy are both said to have non-life threatening injuries

Trump offers blacks a “platinum deal”.

        https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/09/25/donald-trump-announces-comprehensive-platinum-plan-for-black-americans/

But if you are white, study hard, obey the law, raise, feed, clothe, educate and discipline your won children, what do you get?

You get shat on from a high height.

Here is how Trump has decided to reward blacks for their personal and familial familures and anti-social behaviors and how he is choosing to incentivize more such behaviors:

The plan announces a goal of creating 500,000 black-owned businesses, increase access to capital investments, and add three million jobs for the black community.

The president’s plan for black Americans includes proposals he has already voiced support for, such as an annual $500 billion of infrastructure spending.

The plan also promises to prosecute the KKK and Antifa as terrorist organizations and make lynching a national hate crime and make Juneteenth a National Holiday.

The president also spoke about increasing opportunities for education and job training, including school choice.

He also committed to working on additional criminal justice reform legislation, better healthcare, and advanced financial literacy.

That is a full-to-the-brim bucket of sweet, blacks-only segregated welfare from Uncle Sugar. Do Africans fresh off the plane from Nigeria and Ghana get that too? I bet they do.

And what does whitey get? The middle finger. And AFHH. Because your white daughters will breed with the black man, cracker.

Trump was to aggressive and also refused to answer a couple of questions. There were times he actually helped biden focus as a result.

      Biden lost on several points.
He straight up lied on several points that there is video to prove it.

Chris Wallace also helped Biden and fight with Trump when he should have just stood up and walked off he literally lost the control to both these men.

Biden also got destroyed when Trump pointed out that both Obama and Biden knew about Russiagate being a hoax.

In the end Biden did better than I expected how ever he refused to take the drug test and confirm he was not using an ear piece.
Wallace was clearly favoring Biden and Trump called him out on it.

      • Sredni Vashtar September 30, 2020 at 12:04 am #

Yes, Biden rose to the occasion far better than I thought he could. Trump did alright, pressing him hard on some issues. Every time anything real threatened to happen, Chris Wallace broke it up. Such is the tenor of our society. Always the polite, happy face to cover up monstrous deeds, like those of Hunter Biden.

        • Night Owl September 30, 2020 at 7:12 am #

Not really. He never answered a question in any real detail. Most of his answers consisted of him chuckling and saying the equivalent of “oh stop, not that again.”

He was coached to avoid engagement, and the Fake Nooz moderator ensured there was no risk of it occuring in the event that Trump got more aggressive than expected.

On content, the debate was an absolute disaster for Biden. The Uniparty knows this, which is why the McMedia is shouting that only one debate is even needed. They know the danger that lies ahead.

      • Northern Neck September 30, 2020 at 12:05 am #

Vice President Biden, pale and old, failed to counter President Trump’s accusations of insiderism by his son Hunter. He also failed to
counter President Trump’s challenge to denounce Antifa and BLM violence. He is a weakend man and hopefully a loser contender.
I stand for President Trump, now and forever.

      • Kim September 30, 2020 at 8:02 am #

I did not know that Wallace married the daughter of the President of CBS. So he is the classic son-in-law so famous in Jewish humor. Explains plenty.

  61. Sredni Vashtar September 30, 2020 at 12:13 am #

This is noteworthy but it got by me at the time. Trump didn’t condemn the Proud Boys, only telling them to stand back and stand by. Now they are really proud!

I also missed it. Lost in the noise, I guess.

Stands his ground like a mighty oak.

Hail Trump, Grand Gladiator of Gotham!

  62. tucsonspur September 30, 2020 at 12:15 am #

Trump did better than I thought, partly because Wallace didn’t bite into him like a hungry rat. Trump dominated Wallace, not vice versa.

Will the $750 dollars in taxes come up again? Trump said he paid millions. Cool under fire….. liar?

Biden at least held his own, slight edge to Trump given his energy and aggression.

The debate, tv, media is all a show.

Message sent during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir (December ARSH 1950)

“Where the Hell do you put the bayonet?”
He said this while at a flamethrower demonstration. Apparently, Puller wanted to be ready to stab the men he set on fire. (ARSH 1944)

“I want to go where the guns are.”
Statement on his reasons for leaving Virginia Military Institute after his freshman year to enlist in the US Marine Corps (ARSH 1918)

“I want you to do one thing for me — write your people back home and tell ’em there’s one hell of a damned war on out here, and that the raggedy-tailed North Koreans have been whipping a lot of so-called good American troops, and may do it again. Tell ’em there’s no secret weapon for our country but to get hard, to get in there and fight.
I want you to make ’em understand: Our country won’t go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won’t be any America — because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.“

“Our Eighth Army headquarters is still in Seoul. I don’t understand how they expect the troops to reach the Yalu River without their leaders.”

In spite of Chris Wallace’s constant nanny assists for poor Biden or maybe because of it? Either way this was not supposed to be one of the outcomes. Lol 🙂

If it was a fight the ref would have stopped it in the third round by my count. Poor Biden should have never been put in the ring. I have to conclude the Dems are actively trying to throw the fight.

      • JohnAZ September 30, 2020 at 9:51 am #

The most humorous statement was Biden saying that He is the Democratic Party.

Illusions of grandeur, he is there as the dupe of the Left wing.

        Period!

      • SoftStarLight September 30, 2020 at 10:00 am #

To me Biden looked like a deer in the headlights. His eyes would get really wide and his imploring of the public that he feigned seemed so disingenuous and put on.

    Habsburg end, Hemingway beginning

During the war, in 1918 on the Italian front, Ernest Hemingway was wounded by an Austrian mortar round. An empire ends and a writer is being born.

He skied Austria’s Silvretta-Montafon in the early twenties, and from there came his inspiration for “The Snows of Kilimanjaro” and a redrafting of “The Sun Also Rises”.

    • Northern Neck September 30, 2020 at 3:24 am #

I believe you meant “Hapsburg” but I’m not certain what your point is.

  68. ohyesiam September 30, 2020 at 5:07 am #

Wow, JHK used to be a visionary writer on the tragedy of suburbia. Now he’s just one of Trump’s goons.

Anything for the clicks I guess.

Meanwhile, as Americans squabble amongst themselves, China is laughing all the way to the bank.

    • Kim September 30, 2020 at 8:00 am #

On the topic of visions of the future of suburbia, I would appreciate a Kunstlerian excursuson the shadow of AFHH that currently hangs over it. If he pleased. There is a lot to say on the topic.

But I don’t think he does requests.

      • JohnAZ September 30, 2020 at 9:46 am #

Yeah, if suburbia is so bad, where are we supposed to go?

    • JohnAZ September 30, 2020 at 9:47 am #

What I heard last night was inconsequential.

Instead of answers to the problems of our times, all we saw and heard was a rehash of the last year’s contest between two enemies, personal attacks, lies, avoiding answers, gaffes and moderator interference.

Pure politics, no substance, pure BS.

The exchange on Covid was typical. Biden had not a clue about what to do. More PPE and listen to the scientists was his solution. Exactly what Trump did in the Spring. This is typical of the BS Dems are getting away with. Blame Trump And give no real answers for anything. The debate was a showpiece for this tactic to cover a weak candidate and platform. Trump defended what had been done and his stance that keeping the economy open is no.1. No where was the idea that mitigation in the workplace could open things up was even mentioned. Trump wants law and order, enforce the mitigation requirements to avoid the surge roller coaster we are on.

America is in deep doo-doo. Think what the world thinks right now.

    • SoftStarLight September 30, 2020 at 9:58 am #

“Think what the world thinks right now.” – Who cares? That is the problem. We need a leader that cares about AMERICA. I’m glad Trump was angry. Most Americans are very angry that most of his term has been stolen by criminals who are never charged for their crimes while regular individuals would be placed under the prison for tiny infractions. The fact that Trump was so angry shows he actually cares. Biden doesn’t care because no matter what happens to regular every day Americans he and his family will always be protected and pampered. And he has directly made money from Russians and Chinese.

      • beantownbill. September 30, 2020 at 10:11 am #

SSL, your heart is in the right place, and I’m beginning to think I am acting like your father. You said most Americans are very angry that…

But you can’t say that unless you interviewed every single American, tabulated the results and found your statement to be true. A more accurate statement would have been MANY Americans must be very angry…

I’m just trying to get you to accurately and critically think so readers take you as seriously as possible.

        • SoftStarLight September 30, 2020 at 10:15 am #

Ok daddy. I’ll try to be more clear.

        • Sredni Vashtar October 1, 2020 at 1:04 pm #

The Americans who matter ARE very angry. Revolutions and counter-revolutions are affairs of the relative few. They are the yeast that makes the mass rise.

My time is valuable – to me, so I didn’t watch the debate between a doddering old fool who couldn’t find his own dick without help, and a rabid narcissist who knows the universe was created to please him. At the end of the day, what was the net effect of the debate? Nothing!

Oh, wait. Actually, there was something. The debate must have scared the shit out of Xi and Putin: “One of these two guys will have his finger on the button? Jeezus!”

The whole world must be shaking it’s collective head.

We needed a different moderator – say Pucker. Can you imagine how cool that would be? And the questions. Unimaginable, with Trump’s jaw dropping and Biden’s eyes crossing as the drool leaks out of his mouth.

So you are a globalist neo-con too huh.

      • SoftStarLight September 30, 2020 at 10:16 am #

In my effort to more clearly communicate, let me just say, that I meant to post….It seems as if you are speaking like a globalist neo-con here….

        • beantownbill. September 30, 2020 at 10:26 am #

Thank you. Much better. Speaking of globalists, just because I criticized an anti-globalist, does that mean I am a globalist? Or could it mean I think that we could have a more effective anti-globalist representative?

BTW, in an ideal world, globalism would be in all of the world’s best interests, with no loss off our freedoms and material wealth. Of course, we don’t live in an ideal world, so globalism isn’t for us. Too bad it’s so.

          • SoftStarLight September 30, 2020 at 10:54 am #

Well yes, I do suppose it could mean that you think we should have a more effective anti-globalist representative. I would agree with you that it would be nice too. But I guess our choices are limited as well. Also, I just recall that the full weight of opposition is being borne against our anti-globalist so I think the assumption of a calm debate in the matter is something that can’t happen. TDS is an extreme mental illness. Or let me say. TDS appears to be an extreme mental illness.

      • beantownbill. September 30, 2020 at 10:17 am #

So, you know me so well that you can determine my political philosophy? Try harder to be accurate, not snarky. You could have said that it sounds to me that you are a globalist. I know I’m picking on you, but you are young and need some instruction in your criticisms.

        • SoftStarLight September 30, 2020 at 10:21 am #

Well I said that because it seemed as if what the world thinks about us ranks as a high importance to you and I think many Americans are more concerned about what is going on right here in America. It is my opinion that most of our leadership is way too concerned about what goes on abroad and not as concerned about what is happening right here.

        • SoftStarLight September 30, 2020 at 10:21 am #

I’m sorry I was snarky to you.

          • beantownbill. September 30, 2020 at 10:54 am #

Good comment. I say that the world has.shrunk, and has many inter-dependencies, so yes it’s important what others think of us. But not to the extreme such that their opinions become detrimental to Americans.

There’s around 7.5 billion people in the world, excluding America. China has about 1.4 billion people, near 20 % of the entire human population. Middle eastern Muslim countries don’t like us. All told, without really knowing the exact percentages, a fair guess is that 30% of humans dislike us, or about a third of the world’s population – at least.

Now imagine that you as an individual, for whatever reason, determine that one third of your neighbors dislike you, maybe even hate you. How would that make you feel as you pass by them walking down the street? That is one reason why it’s important to be concerned about what others think of you, let alone how you interact with them. I believe it’s bullshit when others say it’s not important what others think of you. Nobody likes to be disliked. That’s just human nature.

A lot of folks on this site have a persecution complex. Been beat down so hard for so long by the dysfunctional society JHK has described so well for so long. God bless America…it needs it.
