Halloween’s coming super-early this year and it will be a shocking surprise to those currently busy looking for Russians behind every potted plant in Washington DC. First, accept the premise that your country has lost its mind.

This is what happens when societies (and individuals) can’t face the true quandaries of a particular moment in their history. All of their attention gets channeled into fantasy: spooks, sexual freakery, conspiracies, persecution narratives, savior fairy tales. It’s been quite a cavalcade of unreality for the past six months, with great entertainment value for connoisseurs of the bizarre — until you’re reminded that the fate of the nation is at stake.

The questions Americans might more profitably ask ourselves: can we continue living the way we do? And by what means? These matters of home economics have been sequestered in some forgotten storage unit of the collective mind for at least a year while a clock ticks in the time-bomb that sits on the national welcome mat. That bomb is made of financial plutonium and it’s getting ready to blow. When it does, all the distracting spookery and freakery will vaporize and the shell-shocked citizens will have a clear view of the bleak, toxic, devastated landscape they actually inhabit.

March 15 is when the temporary suspension of the national debt ceiling — engineered in a 2015 deal between Barack Obama and then House Speaker John Boehner — finally expires, meaning the government loses its authority to continue borrowing money. The chance that congress can pass a bill raising the debt ceiling to enable further borrowing is about the same as the chance that Xi Jinping will send every American household a dim sum breakfast next Sunday morning by FedEx. The US treasury will then be left with around $200 billion in walking-around money, at a burn rate of about $90 billion a month — meaning that that around June sometime the country won’t be able to pay invoices, issue salaries, send out entitlement checks, or do anything, really. It means pure government paralysis. It means no infrastructure spending jamboree, no “great” wall, no military shopping spree, none of the Great Expectations sewn into the golden fleece of Trumptopia.

Meanwhile, over the next few weeks, Janet Yellen and her crew of economic astrologasters at the Federal Reserve will have to put up or shut up vis-à-vis raising the interest rate on the basic overnight lending rate. The Las Vegas odds of it being raised currently stand at around 95 percent. So, they will be running that play around the time that the debt ceiling issue materializes into a live-action event. Of course, the Fed could welsh on its carefully-scripted previous hints and utterances and do nothing. But that option would probably extinguish the last remaining shreds of the Fed’s credibility, since they’ve been jive-talking about raising rates since they began “tapering” the QE bond-buying spree in the spring of 2013, i.e., a long time ago. The Fed’s credibility is synonymous with the dollar’s credibility. Look out below.

If those 95 percent odds are correct, the end of all that lovely cheap money will be the death of the Trumphoria stock market zoom as all algo hell breaks loose in Wall Street’s server farms and the trend is no longer anyone’s friend. Enter, stage left, the unintended consequences and diminishing returns of computer technology ripping apart the financial expectations of every banking official from Shanghai to 20th Street and Constitution Avenue. The American public will be left out in the parking lot with its head spinning.

So, enjoy the last few weeks of artificial Russia hysteria and LBGTQ bathroom neurosis. You’ll have other things to think about as the daffodils come peeping through the garden loam — like what to use for money to buy stuff if, perchance, the ATM machines go to lockdown, and anyway, after three days of that there won’t even be anything to buy (or steal)  at the local supermarket, given the fragility of our supply chains. I know this sounds a little extreme, like Zombie Apocalypse, but you won’t actually see any zombies around. They were just part of the perpetual freak show of the mind that is being shoved aside for the starker theatrics of reality.

First, accept the premise that your country has lost its mind.

Thank you, Jim. It’s somewhat reassuring that I’m not the only who noticed! 🙂

Good thing I’ve got half my garden planted in potatoes and half in tomatoes, along with a bunch of potted peppers. Did I mention a freezer full of venison, wild boar and cooked greens from the winter harvest? 15 gallons of beer and 5 gallons of cider? 8 hens a laying in the back yard? I can only hope the electricity stays on.

    • shotho March 6, 2017 at 10:07 am #

I recommend that you read Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. It doesn’t allow for your kind of complacency if civil order breaks down.

      • Lawfish March 6, 2017 at 10:42 am #

My attitude is not complacency, but vigilance. I have a number of plans in place in the event of civil disorder, one of which is bugging out to a place we own on a peninsula, which is easily defended due to the choke point. With several hundred other residents of the peninsula, it can be defended from invasion by land or water. The water tower also makes an excellent look-out point.

        • HaresOnTheMountain March 6, 2017 at 12:17 pm #

15 gallons of beer. Shiiit…that’s barely a good party with of 8 or 9 friends. ‘Commendable all the same.

        • SteveO March 6, 2017 at 1:05 pm #

“The Road” has a nuclear exchange. I don’t have the exact text, but it said something about huge thuds or explosions in the distance and the electricity going and staying off as well as the battery operated gadgets.

I’m more that a little afraid that the Tweeter in Chief would initiate that as his last, greatest, action.

          • BackRowHeckler March 6, 2017 at 4:57 pm #

You sure it was a nuclear exchange? That was never really clear to me.

Still, a nuclear exchange — with NKorea — remains a distinct and frightening possibility.

Lewis Black said something to the effect that North Korea shoots dishwashers and dryers into the air. Good luck.

          • DurangoKid March 6, 2017 at 8:30 pm #

Nuclear exchange with North Korea? How? They can’t lob a nuke farther than the South China Sea. Or did I miss something like the US annexed some atoll and we’re willing to start WWIII over it?

          • windward March 6, 2017 at 10:09 pm #

Maybe you know that Trump’s ghost writer Tony Schwartz said “I genuinely believe that if Trump wins and gets the nuclear codes there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.”

          • Janos Skorenzy March 7, 2017 at 1:55 am #

Windward: And you know that they’re all calling Jared Kushner a self hating Jew now, right? The Tribe hates Trump. Schwartz is doing his Tribal duty in talking like that.

Now consider: Trump has Jewish friends, family, and co-workers. He was the Marshall of the Israeli Day parade one year in New York. So now he’s an Anti-Semite? C’mon. An Anti-Semite is in reality one whom the Jews don’t like and wish to destroy, not necessarily one who hates the Jews.

          • lateStarter March 7, 2017 at 2:55 pm #

@SteveO: that was the impression I got although not stated. Dull thuds, electricity off, nuclear winter. If anyone hasn’t read the book, highly recommended. Just to add for those hesitating, it is not a book about doom, although that is the setting.

        • DarkMatter March 7, 2017 at 3:16 pm #

Not too late for a few solar panels. Better still jerk that meat! The night sky will look great again.

      • Lawfish March 6, 2017 at 3:07 pm #

Precisely my plan. My deep freezer and beer fridge are in my basement, which is built into the side of a hill. Only access for outsiders is through an entry door in a brick wall, which I will be beefing up soon. It’s all on a single circuit and it’s frankly the most pleasant place in the house when the power’s off. Stays in the 60’s in the winter and the 70’s in the summer. If I can get 1500 watts of panels, I can wire those into the basement circuit only and add some batteries. That way, we’ll have a lifeboat of sorts for extended power outages.

If it happens too soon, jerky is a real option. We make it now just for snacking, but if we got in a pinch, we could jerk it all or pressure-can it. I do a lot of that.

        • Frankiti March 6, 2017 at 8:06 pm #

and really what’s the point of living off jerky in your basement? To extend the human race that includes those now climbing over your ramparts looking to put you under the knife? Perhaps a better plan is to lure as many in and bring the extinction sooner.

        • windward March 6, 2017 at 11:00 pm #

I recall Darla in the dystopian novel “Ashfall” rigged up an alternator to a bicycle to keep batteries charged. Later, in “Sunrise” she built a greenhouse near a wind farm and ran the electric cables into hot water heaters in the greenhouse, providing hot water to warm the plants, etc. as well as power for lights, tools, etc.

        • bentley12 March 7, 2017 at 8:22 pm #

You sound really sick. I would rather die than live on beef jerky in your basement dungeon while constantly on the defensive against intruders, watching the pile of corpses outside your door grow higher and stinking more each day.

        • routersurfer March 8, 2017 at 5:06 pm #

Good plan. People forget we do this as a backup not a wish. Civ may not fall for 100 years. But, I am not willing to bet on that. For all those who want death…… it comes for all.

  3. observex March 6, 2017 at 9:47 am #

How do we think it happens that somehow or other the system keeps muddling through? On Jim’s predictions of the last five years, it would have happened that we’d be at Dow 5,000 and had 20 social breakdowns. This isn’t a criticism of his analysis but wonderment that what can’t continue this way, does anyway.

    • venuspluto67 March 6, 2017 at 9:58 am #

      1) The inertia of massive, complex systems and 2) frantic, red-hot funny-money-printing.

    • Peecan March 6, 2017 at 11:30 am #

      Exactly…

All bullshit…but it is entertaining bullshit and that’s what keeps people hooked on Jim’s prognostications.

      • Frankiti March 6, 2017 at 8:08 pm #

10-1 that if the comments sections were eliminated, there would be no hook to the “prognostications”.

        • cbeard March 7, 2017 at 9:05 am #

The comment section is the only reason I visit this site on an almost daily basis. I would probably still read JHK’s ramblings periodically, but the main draw is in the comment section.

          • Frankiti March 7, 2017 at 2:24 pm #

I love his podcasts. I think he is an outstanding, quality, interviewer. Very patient and lets people speak. Lets people speak as he, i assume, takes notes for follow-ups (his little pencil scribbling is frequently audible). I like his blogs entries that focus on certain aspects of modern life and society. The clapping over a death is one, tattoos and adults in tween clothing are classics.

      • bentley12 March 7, 2017 at 8:24 pm #

WOW. My sentiments exactly. A bit of projection on Jim’s part when he proclaims the country has lost its mind.

    • Ishabaka March 6, 2017 at 11:37 am #

@observex – that is a question I’ve been thinking about – and a recent study of tulipmania shed some light. Tulipmania lasted 36 years – a lifetime of investing – proving the old adage “the market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent”. Imagine if you were Dutch, and realized; 25 years in, that tulips were a bubble that would soon burst – you would have been wrong for the next 11 years.

    • SteveO March 6, 2017 at 1:21 pm #

An almost religious belief by the people that the system must go on.

It will go on until it doesn’t. Anything could start the stampede to the exits. If those idiots in Congress were to quietly raise the debt ceiling, we could get another few months until the next trigger. Most likely the triple witching hour for stock options that hits every October.

      • Frankiti March 6, 2017 at 8:11 pm #

Unless they could orchestrate something to mask the reasons for the crash. Coup d’état is already in progress.

  4. Bro Jobe March 6, 2017 at 9:58 am #

    Beware the Ides of March.

Just had to say that. As for preparation? Keeping some paper money handy for the short-term situation, silver for the longer-term troubles.

It will get very ugly. Who knows when? While JHK’s predictions of a market meltdown have been so premature that many of you suspect him of Chicken-Littledom, the hens will come to roost eventually. That level of debt + a broken political system = eventual catastrophe.

    • shotho March 6, 2017 at 10:08 am #

Not to mention moral disorder of a most egregious kind.

It is odd on one hand the establishment has told us tales that the Russians have their hands up the backsides of Trump and his merry band and then when it is obvious that the great national security agents of making us safe from bad guys is on the spot that no one has done a damn thing about Trump and Co’s red phone hot line to Putin.

You progressives (In your opinions) go get your marching orders from Kos, if anything to entertain me.

Since they cannot blame Obama the Phony for anything ever why not blame Trump for not wiretapping Trump?

  7. troutbum2 March 6, 2017 at 10:20 am #

The collapse of the USA has been underway for years. It’s slow motion process, if you’re expecting the big bang of collapse, that’s at the end, not the beginning of the process. And Trump is advancing the process forward on a faster pace.

    • Frankiti March 6, 2017 at 8:12 pm #

No, actually, the coup against Trump is.

  8. dweebus March 6, 2017 at 10:21 am #

There is massive inertia in the system and TPTB have every incentive to keep it functioning by any means necessary. The chances of a fast collapse in the summer is pretty minimal. Probably, Congress will push the debt ceiling right up to th e cliff in Jun, then raise it. The Fed will probably push interest up an inconsequential amount. And things will limp along.

But occasionally, you throw a 1 on a d20 (a “critical fail”). So yes, perhaps something is mishandled and blows up the system.

As far as the Russian stuff, where there is smoke, smoke, smoke, smoke, smoke, there may be just be fire. Trump has tweaked the nose of the media, Congress, the Judiciary, and the deep state over and over and over. This thing is now a slow burn, and they will cripple him at a minimum.

    • cbeard March 6, 2017 at 10:36 am #

Money, debt, economics. They aren’t forces of nature. They are inventions of mankind. Totally imaginary concepts.. A way to keep power and control of the masses perhaps. A monetary system works better than barter I guess. You could take all the debts owed between countries and big banking establishments and wipe the slate clean. I owe you nothing and you owe me nothing. As long as the wheels kept turning, the average workaday Joe wouldn’t even notice. Comparing monetary problems to the biggest one which is overpopulation, is like comparing a fart to a tornado.

      • dweebus March 6, 2017 at 11:02 am #

A debt jubilee has been discussed for some time as a relief valve that might buy time and cushion the landing.

As to overpopulation, here I agree with JHK, nothing will be done. The usual suspects will show up on their horses, and population will fall back within carrying capacity.

      • Skye March 6, 2017 at 11:29 am #

        That’s what I think.

      • outsider March 6, 2017 at 3:32 pm #

@cbeard – Money has been reduced to blips on a cubicle workers computer screen. If she is suffering from menstrual cramps and has a bad headache one day, she may decide to take it out on some millionaire’s account and eliminate a couple of zeroes. Or said cubicle workers could decide to silently organize and take down the 1%. I know it’s fantasy, the who can deny that the1% deserve it? If it’s not something you hold in your hand, money is just high-tech computer games.

        • outsider March 6, 2017 at 3:35 pm #

“but who can deny that the 1% deserve it.” Sorry.

      • DrTomSchmidt March 6, 2017 at 6:51 pm #

Read the book Debt by David Graeber. You’ll never fall for Adam Smith’s lie about barter again. Money NEVER replaced barter, anywhere.

One other thing in the book is that Smith stole the pin factory story from a medieval Persian writer.

  9. teddyboy46 March 6, 2017 at 10:29 am #

JHK as always is insightful and erudite. But to add my crackers to the soup. The scenario JHK outlines will surely come to pass but what will happen is the Military will step in and when you go to your local super market. A National Guardsmen will hand you a quart of milk and a loaf of bread, and you will only be able the shop on your assigned day so you had better make it last. Same with gas it will be rationed. Of course this will collapse our consumption economy.

This is what the Rs have been waiting for, a chance to install a dictator. History played a funny trick on the Rs because Trump was not the Dictator they had in mind.

        Wolfie,
America has treated you, and I pretty well. What other country, or entity, would do so? What other country or entity would act differently than America if given the power and opportunity?

        • seawolf77 March 6, 2017 at 12:23 pm #

America is just a continuation of the empires going all the way back to Babylon. It’s the military industrial complex. It’s the Beast of the Apocalypse. The British Empire was bad, but at least they hooked another country on drugs (China), not their own. Rome sucked too. They all stink. If they don’t man up, somebody else will. That’s the thinking that gets us empires.

American Samoa, Guam, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico … some f-kkin empire!

          • JimInFlorida March 6, 2017 at 6:57 pm #

BRH, your examples are of the old style of empire i.e. total control and occupation.

The ZOG-U.S. Empire is done by forcing foreign central banks to hold our debt-usury money. To keep X-billions in their central banks, they have to put up national assets for collateral and take away the national dividends being paid to the people (social programs, subsidies, and welfare).

We can then borrow back that money at favorable interest rates. It’s up to the enslaved holder to pay the interest for us. Money that would have been spent on the people is being used to pay for the privilege of being slaves to Washington.

It also explains why we have military bases all over the world. NOT for “democracy” or “human rights” but, to protect “U.S. interests” and enforce our claims. It’s the same reason U.S military bases are all over the 50 States. NOT TO DEFEND THE SHEEP but to protect U.S. Government claims on State land and related assets.

      • SpeedyBB March 6, 2017 at 10:24 pm #

Evidence of that in the perpetual fascination of the masses with the criminal classes, particularly the ‘organized’ segment. How else to explain the popularity of ‘The Godfather’ or ‘Sopranos’?

The Mafia apparently beats the [spectacularly unfair] system, the legal / corporate / political swindle which holds folks down. Until, of course, it does so no longer. You do not beat the house over the long run.

Note that in the early 20th Century it was much more the Wild West / cowboy epics that appealed to millions. Struggle of the individual to triumph over adversity. Old Shatterhand. Tom Mix.

That is clearly not going to happen, and the 1% is rubbing our noses in it (to their own catastrophic end, incidentally).

    • HaresOnTheMountain March 6, 2017 at 12:41 pm #

teddyboy46 – A quart of milk and a loaf a bread you say? Maybe some of those cheap, off brand oatmeal packets? Sounds healthier then what most choose to live on. In my opinion, there are about three generations alive today in America that could use a good mental spanking of that order.

The Deep State transcends Party identity. The same people contribute to both. We have a Donorocracy. And obviously Trump is a Nationalist and therefore hateful to these Globalists. Meanwhile, dumb ass Democrats, Communists, and Anarchists protest and revile him – doing the work of the Globalist Slave Masters. The Slave Masters want open borders and Dumb Feminists want open borders. They were even chanting Allahu Akbar during the Women’s march.

      • outsider March 6, 2017 at 3:41 pm #

If there is going to be an economic implosion it’s not apparent here in Southern California. Construction is going on EVERYWHERE. In my neighborhood, Hollywood/West Hollywood, massive 6 and 7 story condo/apartment units are going in every few blocks. They take up entire city blocks. JHK specifically mentioned my neighborhood in his book “Too Much Magic”—West Hollywood, east of La Cienega. Well, the small homes he mentioned are being razed and replaced with big boxy McMansions that push every building code to the limit. Same thing is going on in the suburban area I grew up in, near Pasadena. The mid-century tract houses are being replaced with gaudy pink and beige McMansions with tile roofs and enormous pillars. It’s 1955 for the (Chinese–from China) immigrants moving into the San Gabriel Valley. Great Expectations, indeed!

My wife and I have a good friend who lives in West Hollywood (originally from the Boston area). We’ve visited about 10 times, but not in the past several years. She lives about a block from Hugo’s Restaurant, so we’re pretty familiar with the area. The next time we go there, will we still recognize the place? Is Hugo’s still around? We loved their Pasta a la Mama.

      • Kevvia Knack March 6, 2017 at 11:39 am #

Hugo’s is alive and well. I live nearby. The Area near LaBrea is getting over developed. Two new complexes are going in near Hugo’s too. The community garden I belong to in WeHo is in danger of closing. Owner wants to build. Not sure who will be able to move into some of these super structures. Strain on the sewer system for sure. There is a growing anti-McMansion movement in L.A.

I saw something about ‘new apartments at 5000-9000 dollars a month.’

      I am not sure where.

Hollywood and the rest of USA may have a disconnect.
Elsewhere doesnt get as much chinese money.

    • SteveO March 6, 2017 at 1:38 pm #

I don’t know how old you or if you remember 2005, but construction was booming everywhere all the way up to the crash. It got more intense right before the end.

      • Kevvia Knack March 6, 2017 at 2:27 pm #

Yes that is true. Construction does sometimes accelerate right up until a crash. The developers and home buyers in the San Gabriel Valley (10 miles east of Hollywood and Downtown LA)are definitely mostly Chinese. Not sure who is building or funding all the development in Hollywood. “Build and they will come” seems to be the mantra.

    • Lawfish March 6, 2017 at 3:10 pm #

When the water in Lake Powell and Lake Mead dries up, you won’t be able to get a plugged nickel for those McMansions. We met some folks in our spin class who recently moved here (Florida) from California for precisely that reason. They sold into a sellers’ market and moved here with five times the money they need for a decent house. They foresaw the coming bust when the water runs out.

      • bentley12 March 7, 2017 at 8:37 pm #

Now I know you are not only sick, but full of bullshit. You have a bunker in the side of a hill, in Florida? And this hill is on a peninsula? Because there are so many hilly peninsulas in Florida. You’re as much of a load as Jim’s predictions.

I am torn, here in earthquake country salt lake county they are expanding into farm land like 2004 but west parts of the county have very ugly shacks that should be razed. I often wonder why someone would take on a mortgage for such a piece of shit home. This time will be different and JHK will be right at some point but I doubt there will be a format for him to proclaim I told you so, but those young enough and connected with old farts to help them survive or have the foresight will prevail. a lot of very smart people have underestimated the date of the collapse but it doesn’t mean it won’t happen, just like the certainty that there will be major earthquakes in both California and Utah at some point, please tell me when either will occur and I will support your cause.

    • benr March 9, 2017 at 3:42 pm #

The same thing is going on in Orange county (Irvine), Las Vegas and parts of San Diego.
The Chinese population has increased to the point they have taken over my local Costco.
They have not adopted many of the American norms rather they still engage in Chinese behaviors and if you have been around real Chinese people you know what I mean. Very odd culture downright rude at times.

Republicans are in charge of government so they will be blamed regardless of their choice. Will they violate their own prescriptions and raise the debt ceiling or let the nation’s government and economy go down the toilet? In my opinion they will never do the latter. That would end it all for for the Republican Party for a long, long time. They would rather take the flack and kick the can down the road for another 2 years. It would just be a little more pretend and extend.

The other choice would be to pick the former, declare a state of emergency, suspend civil rights and then declare martial law. That may happen eventually, but not this spring.

    • Dumbedup March 6, 2017 at 10:45 am #

Sorry, once again no edit button. I meant “pick the latter” and let the US default.

      • capt spaulding March 6, 2017 at 11:55 am #

Republicans were in charge for 8 years under “W”, remember that? Eight years after they ran the economy into the ground, and here they are in charge again. So what will be the difference this time? Do you actually think that the sheeple will be smarter this time around? I wouldn’t bet on it.

        • Dumbedup March 7, 2017 at 10:25 am #

I am not defending Republicans. In my opinion, the blame for what is coming lies squarely in their lap. They forced the discussion to be about spending by cutting taxes. Now it will be about austerity.

The Republicans didn’t have a majority in both houses of Congress during Bush II. This time they do and they will push through most of their agenda. But to do so they are going to have to raise the debt ceiling. The only other choice is default which will lead to a collapse of the American economy.

The other point is that they cannot possibly balance the budget over the next 4 years. In fact, they probably never will balance the budget or reduce the debt. But you won’t hear a thing about it. They are not going to complain about their own spending. Whatever awaits us will be blamed on Obama and Democrats. But if they are in power can they make that blame stick?

          • capt spaulding March 7, 2017 at 10:57 am #

Actually, I believe they had a majority in both houses from 2000 until 2006. So for six years they had it all, and were able to imprint their old battle cry of lower taxes, and deregulation. It’s the same line they’ve been using for as long as I can remember. I think you are right about fixing the blame on them.

          • Dumbedup March 7, 2017 at 4:22 pm #

For 4 years they have a majority in both houses (2003-2007) and they got nothing done except spend several trillion dollars on nation-building and wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

And neocons are not the same as Republicans.

          • Dumbedup March 7, 2017 at 4:22 pm #

            “had” not “have”

        • benr March 9, 2017 at 3:48 pm #

          Really Capt Spaulding?
So those wonderful Democrats didn’t mess with the banking industry and force sub prime loans?
They didn’t hide the insolvency in Freddie and Fanny?
Bill Clinton didn’t play all sorts of accounting games?
No credit default swaps and toxic asset bundling?
Get real I will grant Republicans didn’t do enough and often took part but to blame one side and not the other is foolish and a lie at best.

    • messianicdruid March 6, 2017 at 7:14 pm #

Why do you talk like “they” have a choice?

      • Dumbedup March 7, 2017 at 10:28 am #

It is a “Hobson’s Choice.” They either raise the debt limit or fail.

  12. PeteAtomic March 6, 2017 at 10:46 am #

I think they’ll pass legislation on the debt ceiling. There hasn’t been any immediate negative consequences for doing so in the past– and if there is one fantastic thing the US government is great at, it’s kicking the can down the road for a date of future crisis, hopefully when none of the current members are officeholders.

Of course, there is a time when the can gets kicked, hits the wall, and comes right back at you. So, I think the time bomb analogy is exactly right. It’s just a matter of time.

    • muddmike March 6, 2017 at 1:28 pm #

Of course they’ll pass the debt increase because it is “good” Republican debt, for military spending and tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. It is not the evil librul debt from helping the poor and average working people.

      • Billy Hill March 6, 2017 at 2:46 pm #

Oh please. Tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. Helping the poor. Meaningless babble.

The debt ceiling will be raised or abolished altogether and much meaningless babble will be expended in explanation and nothing particularly will change with fiscal or monetary policy until some exogenous event finally breaks the system.

        cf. The Triffin Dilemma.

The list of possible black swans grows larger, ranging from overt civil war within the Deep State, overt civil breakdown, false flag adventurism in the Persian Gulf or the South China Sea or Crimea, an errant North Korean missile, and on and on. Maybe all of the above. Yeah. All. Everybody gets a trophy.

I’m seriously doubting a big financial collapse. But just in case (being a recovering Mormon and all), I have a month’s worth of food on hand, plus a well-hidden stash of cash to get me through a few weeks, in case ATMs stop working.

There were a lot of his kind. Mike Ruppert supposedly killed himself.

      • My Point of View March 6, 2017 at 12:30 pm #

Per Wikipedia: “On April 13, 2014, Ruppert was found dead in Napa County at home just outside the Calistoga, California city limits. Ruppert died of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.”

Seems his predictions of calamity never panned out and perhaps he just couldn’t stand the prosperity all around him. After all, economists have predicted eleven of the last three recessions.

I don’t buy into apocalyptic predictions, we muddle through and come out the other side promising to do better next time, aka the “never again” vows of the victors after WW-II when all hell DID break loose.

When Obama was elected doomers were screaming ‘buy guns, buy ammo’ for what’s coming next because ITEOTWAWKI. Well, nothing happened. Nothing except the stock market started rising, hiring resumed, jobs started coming back, the auto industry survived with the Chevy Impala now being a Consumer Reports “Best Buy,” all those foreclosed homes got sold off and returned to the housing market and we now have employers scrambling to find talented workers with good skill sets. Oh the horror of it all.

No one would read a column called Let’s All Roll Up Our Sleeves and Get Through to the Other Side of This Shit.

If one wants inspiration we only need to watch Warren Buffet. During the dark days of 2009, Buffet made what he called his “all-in bet on America” and bought an ENTIRE railroad. For cash. He’s still bullish on America. So should we.

The only question is whether climate change rears its head before oil depletion.

Hey Jen Mormons built a massive structure in our town, just finished up a few months ago. People here think its a church; it ain’t no church. For one thing no services are held in it. What it is … is a redoubt, a fortress. A clue is the massive iron fence surrounding it and rifle positions where the steeple should be. When TSHTF this is where they’ll gather to wait it out. And I don’ for a minute this place is well stocked with guns, ammo, food, water, medical supplies and possibly shelter from an atomic blast or two. Here’s the beauty of it: it was built on a valuable piece of commercial land, and they don’t have to pay any property taxes on it.

It’ll be like the final scene in War of the Worlds (the 1st version with Gene Barry) the world coming to an end, except in this version Mormons alone will be huddled inside, everybody else out.

Gold and silver are money. Everything else is credit. How long will the petrodollar last? As long as the oil lasts. I think we are at Peak Oil right now. Once we get through the glut, it starts in earnest. As soon as the world sees the end of the oil age, real money will make a comeback with a vengeance. It was the illusion of abundance that allowed this to happen.

    • JimInFlorida March 6, 2017 at 11:08 am #

Gresham’s Law will never let gold and silver become currency again.

Even if one leaves out Gresham’s Law, unless a nation can practically corner the market on gold and silver, the price is vulnerable to hostile parties that can manipulate its value. A sound national currency MUST be stable and liquid. The ETF racket proved that gold is nothing but a glorified commodity.

ZOG-U.S. currency will always work because it is backed by the barrel of a gun and all the lies that can be stuffed into the breech. The U.S. dollar is literally powered by Satan and the Seven Deadly Sins.

Gold and silver bow low before such awesome power.

It’s interesting you call the US dollar satanic. I’ve been researching Roy Cohn since he was Trump’s mentor and the word that always seems to come up when people describe him is satanic. Eerie when you think about it. Roy Cohn was also described as the ultimate chickenhawk, so again there’s a pedaphilia angle, just like with Pizzagate. The fact that Trump called Obama wiretapping McCarthyesque is mind blowing. Trump’s lawyer and must trusted confidant (until he got AIDS anyway) was Joseph McCarthy’s lead counsel!

        • JimInFlorida March 6, 2017 at 2:23 pm #

The evil underpinnings of the U.S. dollar have been in place for many decades.

Some people pin it on 1913, when our monetary system was privatized.
Some pin it on 1963 when JFK’s plans to dissolve the Fed, and introduce the United States Note, were stopped by his assassination.
Some pin it on 1965 when LBJ devalued our coinage.
Some pin it on the dissolution of Bretton Woods and the rise of the petrodollar.
Some pin it when Reaganomics was hatched.

Regardless, the seeds of evil in our money were planted a long time ago and have been bearing bitter fruit the whole time.

Silver will be too valuable to be used as money.

  17. JimInFlorida March 6, 2017 at 10:58 am #

The 14th Amendment, Section 4, clearly states, “The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, …, shall not be questioned.

That makes the debt ceiling unconstitutional.

But, why is there a Debt Ceiling at all?

A Debt Ceiling is imposed by a creditor upon a debtor. We have NOT been under the legitimate organic U.S. Constitution (or the government created by it) since 1861. After the Civil War, martial law, and Reconstruction, we were put under a foreign power in 1874 (District of Columbia). The semi-private CORPORATION, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, INC.” is a managing company that holds the commonwealth of the 50 States in Trust for the REAL POWERS. Powers that literally OWN YOU and run this dump.

The debt ceiling seemed feasible because we had a sound money system at the time. That went out the window in 1913. Even afterwards, the national debt was manageable because we were a wealth creating industrial nation with a 90% White population. The national income, dividends, and social stability made it possible to service the national debt and keep it reasonable.

But, thanks to Reaganomics, deindustrialization, and dissolution of Bretton-Woods, our debt-usury currency became cancerous and made the debt ceiling impossible to keep. We can barely kite the interest!

I suppose Congress could repeal Section 4 but, because We Teh Sheep don’t understand what is happening, the Republicans would go apoplectic over that Sacred Totem of “fiscal responsibility” and “debt ceiling.” Hypocrites! They are equally guilty of setting the stage for chaos as the Demonrats.

    • seawolf77 March 6, 2017 at 1:42 pm #

It’s funny how history never tells the truth. We’re taught Lincoln held the Union together. But what really happened is that the Civil War was the end of America. They assassinated Lincoln, then Garfield, and then McKinley. A president assassinated once every 20 years! It was insane. But then they had us where they wanted us. Finally they got their man in with a 3rd party scam of Taft, Wilson, Roosevelt. Woodrow Wilson and LBJ are my two worst presidents. LBJ was quite possibly insane.

      • JimInFlorida March 6, 2017 at 2:31 pm #

A hyuge historical hole is often left out regarding the Civil War.

The Russian Fleet, under orders from Tsar Alexander II, guarded New York and San Francisco to PREVENT meddling by England and France!

Perfide Albion and Frogland were itching to break up the organic U.S.A. and retake their old holdings. Russia intervened and Navy Secretary Welled said, “God Bless the Russians.”

  18. DA March 6, 2017 at 11:16 am #

Hard to imagine Yellen being dumb enough to raise rates at this point unless there’s a larger agenda at foot to crash the economy now. She has to know that QE forever is the only reason the markets are levitating and that none of that money is reaching the real economy where actual production takes place. My guess is that the mere threat is meant to tamp down some of the infamous irrational exuberance out there these days, but that’s unlikely to work either. The smoke and mirrors economy is now a permanent feature in a land where actual productive work has been discounted so much that only illegal third world immigrants would agree to do it.

Fact is, the bubble has been blown once again and foolish participants in market bubbles behave according to their own brand of logic or lack thereof. But thanks to Obama’s non-response in 2009, the decision will once again come down to one of letting the big investment banks fail and take the entire real economy and peoples’ life savings with them, or replay the entire spectacle over again, which doesn’t seem very likely at this point either.

In short, I have to agree that this might be the long awaited scenario where we find out what happens when a global hegemon fails spectacularly. Hopefully Russia and China are standing by and prepared for the epic thrashing about that will surely ensue as the US goes through it’s rather unseemly death throes. If I didn’t live here myself I’d gladly say bring it on!

We all know we can’t run a system using debt at interest as money without infinite supplies of capital, resources, energy and markets. We all know we can only make capital infinite, and that only by making it abstract, which is what we’ve done.
Unfortunately, most of us still ascribe value to the “laws” of economics defined back when currency was backed by gold, or something quantifiable. In an age where currency is now backed by confidence, or at least the mightiest War Machine in human history, such “laws” are irrelevant except as propaganda or cover stories.
It doesn’t matter whether or not Congress raises the “debt ceiling.” They will, one way or the other. It doesn’t matter whether or not the Federal Reserve raises the nominal headline interest rates. If they do that with one hand, they’ll increase the rate at which they buy worthless assets with the other hand.
It’s a rigged system. And it will remain that way until one day, “confidence” is shattered, and that morning nobody shows up. That day is likely long off. Too many interests are too locked in to the current charade. There are no “laws” of fiat economics. Merely “guidelines,” which can be ignored at will as long as people go along with it.

    • beantownbill. March 6, 2017 at 11:58 am #

I agree with you. How confident can the rest of the world be in America when we’ve shown again and again that although we have the firepower, we don’t have the competence to use it effectively, as our military adventures since the 1960’s have shown? Sooner or later the world will lose confidence in us, then the dollar will fall, then American citizens will use gold and silver as money again.

Do we have the nerve to push the button to make our threats real? I don’t think so – for which I’m grateful. Yes, ultimate power works, unless it guarantees MAD, which has been the case for decades.

No, this ending has been in the cards since the Fed was born in 1913. Ya just can’t keep buying more than you make without an eventual unhappy ending. Our financial problems didn’t just start in 2008-2009, this has been happening for 104 years. Looking at it this way tells us that time is running out rapidly. Keep stacking, have a little cash and food handy and hope that somehow you survive the inevitable civil unrest.

If the molten pool of radioactive plutonium can be accessed via robots, I wonder if shooting control rod material into the mass would cool it down a bit.

I think Halfnium or Cobalt are used as control rods for nuclear power plants. It they were made into artillery shells, they could be fired at sufficient velocity to penetrate into the mass but, not go past it.

Granted, nobody knows the geometry of the mass but, that may not be necessary. Just keep firing moderating material into it, which will separate the mass and absorb the neutrons. In my mind, that would cool it down.

        • elysianfield March 6, 2017 at 10:57 pm #

          JIF,
Last article I read on the issue declared that a robot, anywhere near the core, would be destroyed within 20 minutes of exposure. The article quoted one scientist as using the word “unimaginable” in describing the radiation levels

The Japanese are not stupid, nor without resources…they are not dogging the issue. The article also quoted one Japanese scientist that stated that they were one 7 R scale earthquake, centered near the containment bldg., from possibly having to evacuate…Tokyo.

I recall your earlier indicating that you have some experience in this field?

          • JimInFlorida March 7, 2017 at 9:11 am #

Some specialized experience from my time in the U.S. Navy. I was on a nuclear SLBM submarine during the Cold War.

The concepts and theory I learned from our Westinghouse S5W reactor can be applied to other platforms.

If things in Japan are as bad as we think, then it might be a good time for the U.N. to pressure the Russians into returning the Kuril Islands to Japan. The Japanese island is already quite small for the population and they will need safe land to retreat to!

Putin could earn incredible political credit for returning the islands to Japan in a time of crisis like this. He could even pry Tokyo away from Washington with such a magnanimous move.

FBM (Fleet Ballistic Missile) submarine duty rotated between two crews. I was Gold Crew on the USS Kamehameha (SSBN-642).

Our patrols were often 100 days straight before we saw sunlight again. Sometimes 90 days and sometimes 105 days.

Sometimes, we might pull into port briefly for some special event (provide photo-backdrop for some Admiral’s change of command), for missile maintenance, or briefing for war games.

Regardless, at the end of our patrol, the turnover would take 4-6 days. Then the Blue Crew takes over and heads out.

“First, accept the premise that your country has lost its mind.” –JHK

    James,
I most assuredly accept that. I also accept that there will be dire consequences because of my country losing its mind.

“The chance that congress can pass a bill raising the debt ceiling to enable further borrowing is about the same as the chance that Xi Jinping will send every American household a dim sum breakfast next Sunday morning by FedEx.” –JHK

Although yet another symptom of our “leaders” having lost *their* minds, I don’t see them slowing down the Crazy Train (tm O.O.). The debt ceiling will be raised, or another accounting trick/fraud will be employed to allow the status quo to continue. (IOW, doubling down on the craziness and danger.)

  22. FincaInTheMountains March 6, 2017 at 11:41 am #

Trump will take care of foreign trade deficit, Mad Dog Mattis of foreign-owned debt. I agree there are lots of idiots in the Congress, but they’re mostly not suicidal. Debt ceiling will be raised, no US default will happen.

Apparently, Russians not only hacked US elections, they’ve managed to plant some totally wrong “collapse” theories into the public discourse, that such superpowers like USSR or US could collapse due “objective economic circumstances”, the only way that could happen is due to betrayal of all, or part of the elite.

That is why the artificial Russia hysteria and LBGTQ bathroom neurosis is much more important (and entertaining) than monetary policy of the FED, since it represents the real struggle for power between various US elite groups, and one of this group may actually cause an economic collapse (if it suits its interests) just like they did in 2008.

    • aNanyMouse March 6, 2017 at 8:29 pm #

Finca, I agree that debt ceiling will be raised, unless elites want economic collapse. But I’m curious, what makes you think that they caused the 2008 collapse, and how would they have done it?
Also, do you disagree with JHK’s general thesis, that the orgy of fraud in the system makes the system a disaster waiting to happen?

  23. janet March 6, 2017 at 11:55 am #

“I’m seriously doubting a big financial collapse.” –Jen in San Jose

Please don’t. Listen to our host.

The collapse began this morning. All the markets are falling. Dow is down. Nasdaq is down. S&P500 is down. This may be a slow slide now but we don’t have weeks or months. We are days away from total economic collapse. As JHK says our paralyzed government will not be able to come up with a debt deal by March 15… and that is only nine days away.

    • seawolf77 March 6, 2017 at 12:24 pm #

It’s the only way to keep the party going. Raise the debt ceiling.

    • My Point of View March 6, 2017 at 2:48 pm #

Janet, I think today’s stock market is just some profit taking after last week’s run up. I’m mystified that the market ran up so much after Trump’s big nothing of a speech.

All Trump gave us was just his basic campaign speech promising everything to everyone but no details on when, or how to pay for it all.

The market should’ve seen through his smoke but no, they priced the market to factor in his rosy scenario as if magic words are enough to levitate that elephant.

The rosy glow will wear off, gradually this year, as DEMs stymie Trump at every turn just at the GOP did to stymie Obama. Gridlock nation lives on.

I expect a correction in the market; this bull is way long in the tooth. All it will take is for consumers to throttle back on consuming. IMO that’s coming for the automotive sector after back to back record years. Our national garage is full of new sheet metal, watch car sales for the tip off. Layoffs in that sector will ripple through the economy, not quite a black swan, but for sure an ugly duckling.

“I’m mystified that the market ran up so much after Trump’s big nothing of a speech.”

You have to remember the big question on everyone’s mind, i.e. “What will other people think that other people are thinking about how this news will affect the market?”

Once everyone has become irrationally exuberant the answer to the that question is always “Buy! Buy! Buy!”

Problem solved in three words: platinum coin seigniorage.

  27. michael March 6, 2017 at 12:39 pm #

For diverse reasons the current state of the union is distasteful to many on this board. Therefore you long for a quick collapse of the system pinning your hopes on some money mischief.

This is unlikely to happen since holes (bankrupt banks,..) can be filled by simply printing money.
This would actually even work quite well except it means a redistribution of wealth causing much quarrel about who gets what.

It is this quarel that poses the greatest danger to the system and this points to a larger problem: once a society has degenrated into a state where nobody wants to make the slightest sacrifice or feels the smallest obligation to contribute to the whole and wherein the so called “elites” are a living example of moral depravity, problems that require cooperation and subordination of the self under a greater cause can simply not be solved regardless of the nature of the problem be it financial, ecological, racial or anything else.

In fact I do not want to chastise anyone who feels they have no stake in the system and feels little obligation to contribute. I feel that way myself. The forces at work are too large for any individual to make a difference. We should all have drawn the line a long time ago but we didn’t. A great cancer has now grown up and the economical implications are by far not the worst aspect.

The spiritual condition of our society is much more troubling and harder to bear.

    • HaresOnTheMountain March 6, 2017 at 1:01 pm #

“The spiritual condition of our society is much more troubling and harder to bear.”

Which is why, with all the other material and banking conditions at the edge of the big blow off, it pains to watch the attitude of peers. There’s an utter lack of a sense of transcendence and awe in the eye of the citizenry. Personally, it’s the only thing that helps me float above all this bullshit.

Well, there is some sense of awe in their eyes, but more along the lines of what you see in someone with brain damage and an IQ of 45.

      • Wrenching Away March 6, 2017 at 1:49 pm #

Well said. I gave up awhile ago at having any “deep thoughts” discussions with friends or peers, they always want to redirect to blaming either the right or the left. I’m so thankful to have my wife, as she keeps her eyes and her thoughts wide open in this world.

        • HaresOnTheMountain March 6, 2017 at 3:13 pm #

Wrenching Away – Oh, it’s goddamn hopeless. In fact, trying to break peers mental habits away from the left/right mirage is a good way to find one’s self ostracized entirely. My last fiasco in that department was in making a plea indirectly to some (now former as a result) friends that the Women’s March and Trump protests immediately after inauguration was perhaps short-sighted and funded by alternate motives that were working against their best interests. I said this in the most polite way. No blame or attack against the supporters. I was informed then by a Folk Arts Commissioner (former) friend that I needed to, “Trust Women.” I asked her what someone’s gender had to do with inherently trusting them? Her response, in disgust, “I can’t even…” and “thanks for throwing our friendship away after 10 years and that is the most offensive thing anyone has ever said to her.” Paying that card those people love to play, I informed her that I thought, that if that was so, she has been certainly “privileged.” This is someone with a Masters in cultural studies and she can’t even see through this shit. Later it occurred to me that she probably never held a job until she was through with her masters and instated at the head of this state arts commission. It’ll be a bitter pill in how it happens, but this pc-activist gloss will melt away when the eventual rubber hits the pavement.

Look at how they respond to the Muslim invasion of Europe: with maternal/sexual longing – even after the Cologne rape fest.

Any Man who is Man responds with the deepest alarm to see long columns of alien young men marching into their country. The columns went on as far as they eye could see. The refugees were dressed in designer clothes and anything but desperate. Did that not clue anyone in?

US will never default. It can print money. What will happen is 1) Peak Oil 2) Climate Change 3) China’s economy gets big enough and it wants reserve currency status. 1 and 2 are wild cards. And 3 is just like England and Germany before the world wars. America will do everything in its power to make sure 3 never happens. That is what leaders of countries do. It really never made sense that Europe ruled the world. Nor America. What makes the most sense if a China, Russia, India alliance. I think that is what are presence in Afghanistan is about. As I recall, many years ago I read that the Bush family had held a meeting of their clan. It was reported that the elder Bush, George H. W., reportedly stated in that Bush family gathering that the 21st century would be the Chinese century. If this be true (at the time I thought that statement seemed a bit extreme) then perhaps the ascendancy of the Chinese is meant to be. In other words, not so much as a result of their prowess as one might otherwise think. For example, many, many Chinese companies are highly automated. They are not so successful just because of their access to cheap labor. How did they acquire the capital for these automated factories? Who lent them the money? Let’s face it, CFNers, there’s more our relationship with the Chinese than meets the eye.

Just wondering how many people that post on this site think oil is endless? I know the end is near, but know not the time or day.

    • My Point of View March 6, 2017 at 2:59 pm #

It sure seems endless. Every time supplies get tight we hear of massive new fields found in far away places. (Send in the Marines!)

We have to get on with solar to power cars and homes. I hope Elon Musk succeeds with his efforts to make roofing shingles and tiles that generate electricity, coupled with ever improving battery technology.

If we can get to half our driving on electric power we will extend oil supplies by decades, or more.

The unknown factor is how much the vested interests can control congress to keep the oil scam going. Right now, with Rick Perry in charge of the Energy Dept, expect drill rigs on your lawn any day now.

      • HaresOnTheMountain March 6, 2017 at 3:20 pm #

We can make fuel with industrial hemp. Do a search for Henry Ford’s 1941 Hemp plastic car.

        • My Point of View March 6, 2017 at 3:56 pm #

Solutions abound. They can’t seem to get off the drawing boards because vested interests / congress find a way to block them, at least that’s my suspicion.

If I were the oil industry and saw that our nation probably has at least a trillion dollars tied up in drill rigs, mineral rights, refineries, ships, rail cars, pipelines and all the rest then you’d better believe I’d see to it congress is hard-wired to protect these investments.

Finding investment bankers willing to finance schemes is another deal breaker. Given their massive loans to the oil industry why do they want to fund competitors to the oil industry if doing that puts their other investments in jeopardy.

Elon Musk and a few other upstarts need to watch their backs.

          • HaresOnTheMountain March 6, 2017 at 4:04 pm #

Solutions certainly abound and you quite right about the vested interests. That solutions abound is why so many of us actually have a hard-on of hope for some sort of collapse.

“In 1953, Peron sent a message to Chilean president Carlos Ibanez, a fellow army general. ‘My dear friend: give the people, especially the workers, all that is possible. There is nothing more elastic than the economy, which everyone fears so much, because no one understands it.’ Trump, should he come to think about it, might stumble to the same conclusion.

Anti-populists in the US, the UK, and elsewhere must come to terms with the reality that bad policies pay off, both economically and politically, long before they become toxic. Yes, the excessive private and public debt, the loss of export capacity, and the weakening of institutions harm the economy (and the polity)–but only in the long run. If critics do not understand that and act accordingly, populists will have as long (and destructive) a run in the rich countries as they once had in Latin America.”

No, he seems like a real character, which I like, but I don’t care for the Libertarian Marlboro Man type politics. America was created by White Men working together against the Indians, the English, the French, and the Spanish. Tough guys by themselves got tomahawked for the most part. We could have never conquered the Indians with this philosophy. They were far more organized than that.

I like Charles Bukowski, who saw an empty elevator as a thing of beauty. He wasn’t overtly political, seeing mankind as just too flawed to care. He refused to fight in WW2, since the American Elite treated American workers so poorly. The War was here if anywhere, but he never would have given Communism a passing thought – it being nothing but utter hatred and resentment to the nth degree.

He pretended to support the Germans, but probably that was just a pose. He was of German and Polish descent, so it’s possible. But I think he was just playing with people.

The Mountain Men were the closest thing to what Ellroy is saying. They were cool, getting along with the Indians (or getting dead) but helping the Settlers. I considered making Jeremiah Johnson into a Patron Deity guarding over the Northwest, but he married Indian Women. And he sometimes ate people’s livers – finding it unbearable to see all that meat just going to waste. He fought a whole tribe of Indians to a standstill. He was also a master of the Frontier Martial Art called “gouging”. He once killed a giant Negro with one kick to the head. And a good friend to the incoming Whites.

So Bukowski wasn’t basically just a drunk who when lucid could put a few words together, like charles Olson or Jack Kerouac?

          • Janos Skorenzy March 6, 2017 at 8:21 pm #

What a terrible thing to say about these masters! Bukowski worked for years in factories all over America, finally settling down to work in the Post Office for decades.

He wasn’t a modern drunk trying to quit. The old timers had no intention of quitting, taking pride in keeping it under control but still enjoying themselves after work.

I know less about Kerouac’s life – more of a hobo certainly, though a great writer. I don’t know about Olson.

Just bustin yer balls about Bukowski Kerouac and Olson, Janos. I’m a fan of all three. Indeed all 3 were professional drinkers, and consummate writers. Those two characteristics often seem to go together.

But I understand your point, it’s well taken.

Janos, you commented on one of my comments up above regarding the Women’s March. Let me display the secret handshake and inform you that I am familiar and versed in the concept of the Red Pill. It’s a great concept in my opinion as long as one doesn’t fall into the mistake of being weak-willed and adapting it for the sake of being a pick up artist.

      • Janos Skorenzy March 6, 2017 at 4:39 pm #

Thanks. Is your name taken from a British Isles folk song?

I’m for women being disenfranchised. I know see Civilization as mostly a masculine endeavor: men are the yeast and women are the dough or material with which we work, the blank page on which we write. They will do fine if Muslims take over. What do they care? If Whites are too weak to fight, then their choice makes senses from an evolutionary pov. Thus all of Feminism is basically a shit test, an silent plea on the part of women to be put back in their place.

The Muslims will have no problem on that score. When the time gets near, some women will realize their mistake – too late of course. Just to be fair to the minority, I would let women run for office and have careers of course. But no voting. We know the few who have It – the capacity to reason. By definition, most women don’t. Most men shouldn’t be voting either of course, and for the same reason. Women can take consolation in that.

        • HaresOnTheMountain March 6, 2017 at 4:52 pm #

Ah, yes it is. Good eye, Sir. In particular the adaptation by Shirley Collins and Davy Graham. In fact I choose it because I see it as a display of the Red Pill logic. Men are not fulfilling their roles and therefore women are acting out. In a sense, it is only logical that they are acting out as they do now.

In the last verse Ms.Collins sings, “But the young men are given to frisking and fooling, I’ll leave them alone and attend to my schooling (feminism).”

I’ve been lurking on this board for over a half a decade, but I have decided to throw in my hat after some of the insightful comments you and other elders have displayed in the last six months.

Welcome, good sir. I don’t know much about the genre, but somebody turned me on to Steel Eye Span who sing that one. It’s great stuff, a wonderful tradition. Jerry Garcia preferred it to Rock, which he played for his bread and butter. Apparently he was a Jinn on the banjo.

There’s a rumor gone round that the Grateful Dead were on the CIA payroll. Some seem to think that the lsd revolution was a psych-op to neutralize the peace activists. There is a book, which I haven’t read, on the subject titled, “Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops & the Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream.” Apparently a good deal of the most famous musicians of that era had family members with ties to the CIA, FBI, and military industrial complex.

Steeleye Span had some good hits, but the real band of that era was Fairport Convention. Their albums Liege & Lief and Unhalfbricking will never grow old. Sandy Denny was their lead singer for many an album before she flew down some stairs in a drunken stupor and died. Her album with the Strawbs, “All Our Own Work” is up there with the two Fairport Conventions mentioned.

        • AKlein March 6, 2017 at 5:52 pm #

It has been my observation that most women do not understand the rule of law. Rather, they are generally driven by simplistic notions of “fairness” which in actuality is not fair at all. I’m really quite unsure whether a nation can actually be governed without the rule of law. I don’t believe it can be, at least not in any sort of modern sense. “Fairness” taken to the extreme precludes the formation of capital, because it would dictate that all surplus must be immediately distributed (to be “fair”), thus precluding any large projects which benefit the society as a whole in a leveraged way.
You can make you own conclusions regarding to what this leads.

He found out he was being spied on in the Trump Tower before the election. I don’t know what he is getting in a snit about. No count nobodies without much more than a pot to piss in get spied on and have their phones tapped all the damn time. So Trump, welcome to the club! At least in your case the investigation made some sense. Some of us get investigated simply so the investigators get paid. Since you found out that you were being spied on that does give you premium membership in our society of targeted individuals. Like me, But for you that is as far as it goes.

All it takes to get spied on is to hang around here and have personality passion and talents, yet Trump may think he is special. As a target Trump was only a blip on the radar. True targeted individuals get fucked with and Trump can’t say that he has been and if he was he would know it. There is no mistaking that circus once it starts.

After looking at the interview with the former head of the CIA Panetta, I came to the conclusion that the wiretapping of Trump Tower had taken place, and Panetta was somehow involved. He was very nervous, scratched his nose, and generally showed his inability to convincingly lie like General Breedlove, whom Obama had forced to give explanations about the deployment of NATO tanks on the border with Russia on June 22, 2015.

If the FBI or the CIA wanted to get a warrant for Trump’s wiretapping, they should have received it in a FISA court, which the head of all intelligence services Clark should necessarily have known, but he confidently stated in an interview with Channel 4 that there was no such warrant.

Hence, the wiretapping, if it was, was illegal, and this is a very serious crime, similar to the wiretapping, as a result of which President Nixon was forced to resign, and Detente of international tensions went to oblivion.

Hillary Clinton played an outstanding role in that, but then she got away with it, and even benefited, and this time President Obama will have to give explanations, and if it turns out that he did not give such orders, then the Hillary Clinton’s coup d’etat from Finca’s guess will become a political reality that will have to be considered not only by Hillary herself, but also by all who supported her.

The global dollar shortage grows worse on a daily basis. How can this be you ask, with the Fed and other central banks creating trillions and trillions of dollars of new money?

The shortage exists because on top of all the new money, the marketplace created 60 trillion plus of new debt along with hundreds of trillions in new derivatives. The new money is leveraged at about 50-60 to one.

So when things go South and default occurs and collateral declines, liquidation begins and people want their money back, but there’s not enough “real” money to go around.

James Rickards goes into all of this in his wonderfully accessible book, “The Road to Ruin”.

Here’s a quote: “the world is a minefield of bad debt waiting to detonate into a generalized dollar liquidity crises. It’s just a question of which landmine explodes first. More than $5.4 trillion of energy related debt was created from 2009 to 2015, most of it in the fracking industry. The sustainability of that debt was based on oil prices of $70 per barrel or higher. With oil prices below $60 from late 2014 through 2016, default rates on energy debt started to soar”.

Then he goes into corporate dollar-denominated debt, valued at about nine trillion. SDRs as an answer to Triffin’s dilemma and a cozy companion to ice-nine is also explained.

As evidence of the dollar shortage, he also explains the complicated web of prices involving 5 year TIPS, gold and ten year Treasury notes.

Read it and get ready to take on Stephen Moore and Paul Krugman.
    Simultaneously.

  39. FincaInTheMountains March 6, 2017 at 6:54 pm #

Stephen Bannon, Trump’s chief strategist, designed his economic nationalism into a full-blown ideology that places the focus on the confrontation between workers who have suffered from globalization and the elite. Bannon said recently that Trump brought “us out of the trade agreement, and our sovereignty will return to us.”

But the numbers show that Trump and Bannon may be fighting the wrong fight.

Employment, indeed, has declined sharply in the past decade, but the main reason lies in automation, and not in trade. It is the robots that perform the majority of the disappeared American handiwork, and not the foreign workers. People are simply not ready for a much greater wave of automation and even greater loss of jobs that await us ahead.

The most convincing figures were collected in 2015 by Michael Hicks and Srikant Devaraj at Ball State University. They showed that modern production in the United States actually experienced something like a revival. Despite the Great Recession, production increased by 17.6%, or about 2.2% per year, from 2006 to 2013. It was only a little slower than the growth of the economy as a whole.

But even when output of products, for example, manufacturing has grown, jobs have continued to decline. For the decade (from 2000 to 2010) there was the largest decline in employment in manufacturing industry in US history, economists from Ball State University concluded.

    What killed these jobs?

For the most part, it was not a trade, but an increase in productivity due to automation. In ten years, the report says, 87.8% of lost jobs were due to productivity growth, while trade was responsible for the loss of only 13.4% of jobs.

IBM plans to build the first commercially available universal quantum computer

IBM Q marks the first time that a universal quantum computer is being offered up.

A universal quantum computer is capable of tackling problems that are too large for a conventional system, so IBM Q would have many applications beyond what’s possible with current technology.

      http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2017/03/06/ibm-plans-to-build-first-commercially-available-universal-quantum-computer.html

I need to figure out what the heck that is.

Apparently, as opposed to current computers that could be in a definite state at any given point of time, the quantum computer could be in many different states and only probability of it being in any particular state could be measured.

Doesn’t matter. Streaming High Def 3-D porn is almost at hand with the IBM Q!

            That said….

Interesting how the advance of high tech and the degradation of society practically mirror each other. The cause and effect may not be provable but the correlation is rock solid.

Go back thousands of years to some ancient Indian ashram, where holy men and gurus possessed nothing. Yet, they had full knowledge of the gods, the heavens, and the world.

Even the High Medieval period in Europe enjoyed a dignity and harmony of life. Authority was legitimate, the Church shepherded souls through this life and prepared them for Eternity, and society lived in the predictable rhythm of the Liturgical Calendar.

Fast forward to today and there just aren’t enough words to describe the rot, anomie, and spiritual poverty.

    Holy Shit!

“And if you needed any evidence that we are in the midst of a Gong Show like no other — just think about this weekend’s craziness.

The Donald tweeted that Trump Tower had been bugged during the campaign by the Obama administration. Of course, spokesmen for the 44th president adamantly and indignantly denied it.

But apparently Washington operatives like former Obama adviser Ben Rhodes took a crash course from Bill Clinton on the art of explaining what the meaning of “is” is. Thus, Rhodes harrumphed that:

No president can order a wiretap. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you…

Then again, Subsection 1804 of Title 50 of the U.S. Code shows exactly where the “is” is regarding the approval process for a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant, which is the method by which Trump Tower was allegedly tapped:

Each application [by a federal officer] shall require the approval of the Attorney General based upon his finding that it satisfies the criteria [of Subsection 1804]…

That undoubtedly explains why Obama Attorney General (AG) Loretta Lynch has said nothing and another Obama spokesman, former speechwriter Jon Favreau, has actually warned that the denial does not extend beyond the White House walls:

I’d be careful about reporting that Obama said there was no wiretapping. Statement just said that neither he nor the White House ordered it.

Still, you would think that even if the cat got Lynch’s tongue, the current AG might have instant access to the truth of the matter. But Jeff Sessions couldn’t enlighten the world either, because he recused himself Thursday afternoon, owing to the fact that he had a meeting with the Russian ambassador in his Senate office last summer.

Still, you would think that even if the cat got Lynch’s tongue, the current AG might have instant access to the truth of the matter.
Needless to say, the job of an ambassador is to meet and greet any and all officials of note in the foreign capital in which he serves, and that might especially pertain to a senator who was on the Armed Services Committee.”

Oh c’mon. It is unbelievable how the gold standard mentality is so implanted in so many peoples’ minds. This idea that the government can run out of money is so misguided. The debt ceiling is just a dog and pony show and is meaningless. The US gov can print as much money as it needs to do anything that it wants. It CAN’T run out of money. The bond market is just a big savings account for individuals, institutions and foreign countries. It is an asset for the private sector. There are no bond vigilantes either. The bond market will be the safe haven on a global basis for a long time to come. The US has the most powerful military, creates its own currency, its currency is the world reserve currency. ‘Nuff said. This is not Weimar, Zimbabwe or Venezuela: there were totally different circumstances behind their collapse. There will be no Mad Max collapse of the society. Stop all this nonsense about doom and gloom and the sky is falling. It is sooooo tiresome. Time to come up to present time and look at how our system actually works. Watch JHK’s predictions prove to be untrue again.

The US gov can print as much money as it needs to do anything that it wants. It CAN’T run out of money.

Yes, you’re right, but the problem is not that – the problem is keeping dollar in high demand internationally.

For instance, in late 60s – early 70s that was not the case and high inflation happened in US. Back then they solved the problem by agreement between USSR and US and drastically raising the price of oil – both Soviets and Americans had their interest in that.

How things will be solved now is the big question. Personally, I believe by introduction of multiple contours of dollar circulation: one contour for internal consumption, one for foreign trade and one for infrastructure development within the country with strictly enforced “borders” between different contours by police methods.

That system was used by Stalin in 1930s to a great success of industrialization of the USSR in just 12 years. I think, originally it was invented by Chinese.

    • FincaInTheMountains March 7, 2017 at 6:10 am #

Is it possible to apply the fantastically effective mechanism of a two-contour financial system without the Central Planning, the Gulag and Comrade Stalin, who is watching over this?

Of course! In 1934 the double-contour financial system was realized by Hjalmar Schacht in Germany, which was a market and capitalist country. Germany, exhausted by the global economic crisis, required a huge amount of money for re-armament. Where to get them?

For this purpose, Schacht copied the second financial circuit in which the non-cash money was circulating from the Soviets.

In general, the task of reviving the economy with the help of domestic investment was successfully resolved – within a few months, the Germans, in terms of economic growth, came to second place after the Russians.

But in the Third Reich the growth was restorative, not qualitative, as in the USSR, since in Germany the industry already existed, it was necessary only to untwist the flywheel of production.

The dual-loop financial system allowed Germany to restore its military power in the shortest possible time, while not dropping the living standards of the population, and even visibly raising it.

The President and his family are in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act for its business dealings. An independent investigation is needed to uncover the Trump family’s criminal acts and funding of terrorist organizations. Trump and his eldest daughter developed a hotel in Azerbaijan that appears to be a corrupt operation run by a family known as “the Corleones of the Caspian” with links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.

If, in fact (you all know it’s true,) Goldman Sachs (sacks of gold man!) rules the world – then even with the mercurial Donald J. Trump in the Oval Office, there are enough G.S. alumni floating around the top of the administration to keep things moving along nicely for another 3.5 years.

And on the other hand – all it would take is a company of Spetznaz to mechanically shut down the U.S.A.
Or perhaps have The Pudgy One, over in the Best Korea, experiment with a intercontinental washing machine EMP device deploy somewhere over Shimane Prefecture, Japan or even Lompoc, Cal.

That would help to get the show on the road, so to speak. And we desperately need to finally get this shit-show up, running, and finished already.

Regarding Trump, you have to remember that 4 years ago no one on here was saying, “let’s get Trump!” If they are now, it’s only because he was a far better choice than Clinton. I can’t believe, except I can, that she couldn’t even come out the night of her defeat and thank her supporters. She just left them there to whimper. Everyone watch this. Not Conspiracy Theory but Conspiracy Fact – admitted by Mainstream Liberal Media. Under the aegis of investigating Trump’s Russian connections, they have a full court press going against his very Presidency and Administration. And they’ve been at it since last Spring. And guess what? The New York Times and the FBI have admitted they’ve found nothing, but they bravely intend to press on. It’s a trick and they deserve to be indicted for this. Now we know why Obama vastly increased the scope of the NSA and sharing among Intelligence Agencies.

Trump has to go at them from all angles – not only this, but the Clinton Foundation, Hillary personally, and of course, Pizzagate. They will all converge have no doubt. Pull these threads and the whole sweater system will come undone – exactly what we need. Trump is the Liberator. Hail Trump!

Watergate is nothing compared to this. Wash out those rusty liberal brains. This is the clearest cast of political good and evil in our lifetimes. If you can’t see it, you are hopeless. It’s not that Trump is even so good – but they are so very bad that he is by comparison.

Trump is wandering the WH and his Florida beach house (at our expense) without having a clue about what to do. Today’s missile launches show that North Korea is taunting Trump and Trump has nothing to say. He does not know what to do. Trump has not been capable of forming a government that might know what to do about North Korea which has realized Trump is a paper tiger. To try to distract the public Trump is busy ridiculously lying about Obama wiretapping his hotels, just like Trump lied for five years about Obama not being a US citizen, before finally admitting his five year campaign was one giant lie. Meanwhile, North Korea continues to perfect its nuclear arsenal.

A North Korean military unit tasked with striking US bases in Japan was involved in today’s launch of four ballistic missiles. The missiles, three of which landed within 200 miles of Japan’s coastline in its exclusive economic zone, were fired as part of a drill by North Korea’s Hwasong artillery units. The units were part of “the KPA Strategic Force tasked to strike the bases of the US imperialist aggressor forces in Japan in contingency.”

Want to know what President Trump should do?

As he has shown a deft hand in relations with our ally Japan; all he needs to do is alter the geo-strategic picture regarding Best Korea by unleashing Japanese industry, technology and their armed forces.

A robust Japanese military posture would keep the Beloved-Pudgy-Looney -One in check and, at the same time, provides powerful leverage and incentive for peace in the neighborhood with The Middle Kingdom particularly in mind.

Please give a link to Clark’s claim that they got no FISA order. == aNanyMouse

Sorry, it was James R. Clapper, Director of National Intelligence, NOT Clark. I watched it on TV.

“For the part of the national security apparatus that I oversaw as DNI, there was no such wiretap activity mounted against the President-elect at the time, or as a candidate, or against his campaign,” Clapper told Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Most likely this was a conspiracy of special services, which was led by people who now have already lost power, and their activities will be investigated by the Congress and they will go to jail.

The army and the Police hate the CIA and in the CIA itself is full of people who want to bring their bosses to Trump in handcuffs.

Blacks can never repay their debt to us, both in terms of what we’ve done for them and the crime they’ve perpetrated against us. I suppose we could enslave them again and make them work off their debt, but what’s the point? They’re obsolete farm equipment at this point. And in general they’ve not very good workers. At this point it would make sense to cut our losses and cut them loose with their own state in the Deep South.

We set them up – including cameras – and then sit back and watch the Melanin enriched Supermen teach each other apart. No aid since they don’t need it (being Supermen) and we’ve given them so much already. And Monroe Doctrine in place – no aid from elsewhere either.

We will recoup all this Territory (a broad swath from Georgia to New Orleans). A few Black will be left on remote Carolina islands and the swamps of the Mississippi Delta. As our planes and spaceships go past at night, they will tell their children that they once lived with the gods but were banished for their sins.

Superheroes are juvenile cartoons and hinder human progress from adolescence into maturity. Young boys should be in Shop Class and the girls in Home Ec. instead of wasting time with that superhero bullshit.

That said, White superheroes of the 20th century were a propaganda crutch; created to express the victory of Good over Evil. The very idea of Good is not possible to discuss now because of mass anomie and libertinism.

The image boost given to urban Black society over the past 30 years was Pure Jewish Media. Far from educating and inspiring Blacks, its main mission is to assault the tattered remnants of White America and invade our social space.

I can respect Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, and Louis Farrakhan because those men used sound moral arguments to highlight legitimate grievances. I might challenge some of the underlying assumptions but, that’s a far cry from the artificial imagery of the Black Experience; boosted through JEWISH amplifiers. Such imagery serves no purpose other than to barge into Whitey’s social space.

I can see Black and White men sharing common causes i.e. Labor Rights and Economic Rights. Without those two, NONE of the other rights matter.

But, to try and shake down Whitey for cash money and White women…. NO FUCKING WAY.

We should pay reparations. I suggest $50.000 per head of household, plus (required) repatriation to their country of original origin,(or to a country that would accept them and their money) and, of course, a renouncement of US citizenship. This should pencil out into the “black” within two years…yes?

False accusation, or making up shit to sully someone’s character is known as calumny. It is a terrible sin if the accusation is serious, as a man’s reputation is sacred. It is a crime if it can be proven that it affects a person’s ability to make a living. What they are doing to Trump is just such calumny, both a sin and a crime.

Janos, I’m calling you out, buddy. Whatever you are, you and your racist white nationalist prick friends are nothing but a bunch of cowards. Scared. Desperate. Ignorant despite whatever airs you put on. You feign you would do violence if only you knew who dared slander your pablum? Prove it.

You hide behind anonymity. Own that white cloth hood. Or are you not man enough? If you are so proud of your righteous aryan nordic identity, why not be true to your spirit? You guys are the true victim class. Own up. Face the hard truth.

New York rumors collected by a friend of mine on the pro-Trump meeting on the Union Square

The first thing that struck my friend was that these “deplorables” have developed intellectually over the past 15 years. They watch political shows, read magazines, are interested in history in general and US history in particular.

It is that the graduates of universities do not know anything at all outside their immediate specialty and are ready to vote for Hillary without denying her being a criminal. They do not care about anything, even a long chain of crimes, for which the electrical chair is long overdue, and even more so that she is supported by not more than 15% of the population, and everything else she puts in her column by blackmailing the members of election commissions.

The fact is that over the past 20-30 years the Political Correctness managed to create an “educational system” that brainwashes students to such an extent, that even 10 years after graduation they do not understand anything and are ready to vote for outright Nazis on the basis of some party lines.

However, in Russia, the situation is, unfortunately, similar.

Because it is surprising to me that in the US the truck driver knows more about Trump, Hillary, Bandera, Hitler, Stalingrad and Roosevelt than the Columbia University diploma holder.

    1. Trump washed his hands of Ukrainian affairs, saying 2 weeks ago that the harassment of his administration in connection with the Russian trail in his election campaign makes it impossible to conclude a deal between him and Putin. And so, if the army of Donbass enters Kiev, and the congressmen come to him with a demand to call Putin, he will send them packing with an offer to call Putin themselves.

    2. Putin’s hackers did hack Hillary and Podesta and Putin has video recordings of the participation of the above-mentioned personalities in…. I’m afraid to write what I was told.

But to write about the fact that Hillary and Podesta participated in the organization of terrorist attacks on US soil to justify the need to disarm Americans, I’m not afraid.

In addition, according to neighboring rumors, Putin has the whole archive of the operation to overthrow Gaddafi and incontrovertible evidence of Hillary Clinton’s participation personally in the transfer of weapons from Libya to Syria, as well as the creation of weapons stores in Mosul, the capture of which turned the “moderate” rebels against Assad into ISIS.

Moreover, this evidence was in possession of Ambassador Stevens, which actually was the reason for his murder.

    3. The ventilation system of the twin towers of the World Trade Center was packed with carcinogenic dust that could not be cleaned, and owners of these buildings were waiting for multi-billion claims from the victims. Therefore, they still had to be demolished and Hillary Clinton was simply hired to solve this problem using her Islamists friends, whom she used as patsies. And since she put all the blame on Osama-bin-Laden, she became at war with Al-Qaeda too, which actually caused her to create ISIS.

And today I see the article of the leading expert of the New York Post, confirming these rumors. This article called Why Dems will regret a probe into Russian election hacking, because as a result of this investigation, the congressional commission will receive 35,000 e-mails that Hillary Clinton has erased from her server and which contain the above-described evidence of the Hillary Clinton crimes.

Putin, with the help of his hackers, not only downloaded them from her server before she removed them, but also handed them over to the NSA – the US National Security Agency (the organization where Ed Snowden used to work).

Which most likely means that the hacking of Hillary was a joint operation of American and Russian technical intelligence services against the Party of War.

In Berkeley, the Deplorables showed up with sticks, helmets and shields. They knew would be attacked and they were. Things are progressing nicely.

      • tucsonspur March 7, 2017 at 6:13 pm #

And they could always recognize bullshit when they heard it, and they heard it for far too long and finally acted.

It was those Deplorables who recognized the reality and not the rhetoric, who saw the nation decaying before their eyes and decided to put a stop to it, Hillary and the intellectuals notwithstanding.

      • JimInFlorida March 8, 2017 at 10:08 am #

The Deplorables (great gang name!) need to learn the art of medieval warfare. That includes the art of hand weapons and man-to-man combat. EXTREMELY USEFUL in confrontations with our cucked police departments that serve the interests of Muslims, banksters, and other undesirables.

        • elysianfield March 8, 2017 at 1:41 pm #

          JIF,
Noooo. Police are allowed one increment of force…you with a fist…police with a club…you with a club? Po-lice shoot your ass. It was never about being fair…it is about surviving the contact and going home after shift’s end. The Government jealously guards the right to use violence, and wants to make the use of same by citizens…unsatisfying.

          • JimInFlorida March 8, 2017 at 9:12 pm #

I’m aware of the force continuum.

It is STILL in The Deplorables’ favor to raise the stakes and bring in more force. Police can only raise the ante so far. In war, some casualties are inevitable. If our Cause is Just, the war will continue in honor of our fallen brethren.

The only advantage the police have is that the mobs are very disorganized, unprepared, and lack training. With medieval standoff weapons, courageous charges with hand weapons, PPE, and our own pepper spray, the force of numbers will negate the police line and force them into a defensive retreat.

The police have long ago lost their legitimacy by siding with The Establishment. Sheriff Andy Taylor is long gone and even Sheriff Buford T Justice is a quaint tyrant by modern standards.

The REAL police are the para-military forces that protect The Tribe’s interests and enforce their claims on the miserable possessions of the Goyim.

The sooner We Teh Serfs understand who our enemies are, the sooner we can begin the coalescing of popular power and galvanize that power to fight the agents of our oppressors in the streets.

          • elysianfield March 9, 2017 at 10:08 am #

“The police have long ago lost their legitimacy by siding with The Establishment”

            JIF,
The police are no more siding with the establishment than are crews of Boomers. It is a job. They do what they are told. Some might have political views that coincide, some don’t. Police are just the instrument of policy, as are military personnel. To excoriate police and military personnel is vaguely…Marxist. I was a cop…you a naval serviceman…are we the enemy? Kill a cop, and there is a waiting list for his job…pays usually a middle-class wage. Your issues are with the political leadership that directs the police and military.

          • JimInFlorida March 9, 2017 at 7:22 pm #

            elysian,

Trust me, it troubles me to rant like I did against the Police. The vast majority of police work is socially beneficial.

What TRIGGERS ME is when cops are “just doing their job” in the service of utter evil i.e. evicting people from their home in the service of malevolent banks (Bank of America works for Satan himself).

Or…, fighting with angry mobs that have legitimate grievances against the banksters (WTO or G7 meetings).

*OR* going into the high and unaffected areas of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, terrorizing middle class White homes, doing shake-downs for any guns in the house, and actually SHOOTING family pets that get too close!

THAT LAST EXAMPLE is especially egregious and worthy of mass armed resistance!

    • aNanyMouse March 8, 2017 at 1:55 pm #

Another possible consequence of this “hacking” fishing expedition pertains to the bitterest irony in all this, as put by CHOMSKY (in his 2 Feb. interview by David Gibbs), “My guess is that most of the world is just collapsing in laughter” about the disproportion between the “horror” of Russia’s supposed “hack” (“so amateurish by US standards that you can hardly even laugh”) and the US’ horrific sabotages of other countries’ democratic processes, e.g. the 9/11 – on – steroids inflicted on Chile in 1973.

      (See http://www.counterpunch.org/2017/03/03/most-of-the-world-is-just-collapsing-in-laughter-on-claims-that-russia-intervened-in-the-us-election-an-interview-with-noam-chomsky/ ).

Instead of the world describing this Russia hacking hysteria as “pot calling kettle black”, the world may come to describe the coming probe as “PANTHERS calling beetles black”.

The Urantia Book is very clear about the Hierarchy of Races. White and East Asian on top, Black on bottom. Any attempt to mix them or upset the balance is simply part of the Lucifer Rebellion.

A hierarchy in order to do what?

what is the ultimate purpose of a white man?

        • JimInFlorida March 8, 2017 at 6:50 pm #

In the current paradigm, the purpose of a White Man is simply to survive!

In the past, our purpose was to elevate ourselves above the tyranny of Nature and create man-made environments where we could plant seed of our ideas, labor to bring forth, and reap the harvest with much greater efficiency than what Nature gave us.

Whites achieved their supremacy organically; by building upon their ancestor’s achievements, going back many millennia. The labor provided by African slavery was morally reprehensible but, had steam power come about 500 years earlier, we would have achieved the greatness we were destined for AND without the baggage of 3rd Worlders and their problems.

Whites are in a precarious position now because we have been robbed of our inheritance and brought down to the lowest common denominator. Whites don’t function well in captivity and our declining performance is being attributed as an inherent defect, rather than exposing The-Tribe-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named which orchestrated our downfall.

If you give me a choice between “reparations” and the replacement of racism with justice; I’ll take justice everytime. I don’t want your white man money? – thwack

    ===========

The new Black intellectual, Ta Nehisi Coates, is pushing hard for reparations. Ross Douthat, NYT op-ed columnist talks in his article of a one time $10K for every Black… a terrible idea IMHO. That money would be pissed away in a year or less and wind up back in the hands of the 1%.

How can Coates and Douthat not see this? It is so obvious.

    • janet March 8, 2017 at 1:15 am #

“a one time $10K for every Black… a terrible idea IMHO” –Q. Shit

I agree this is a terrible idea. It should be $10K annually for every Black for life. (Take the money out of the military budget.) $10K every year as a right of reparation.

Your bigoted statement that the money would be pissed away is just that: bigoted. $10K is just a symbolic gesture. $10K is nothing: a few days of hospitalization, a semester of study in a Ivy League university, the cost of a use car, etc. But, at least $10K would be a little bit of help, just a little bit, to compensate for the barbaric sin, the terror and the violence caucasians inflicted upon Blacks for centuries.

After 398 years the reparations should end, since slavery in America began when the first African slaves were brought to the North American colony of Jamestown, Virginia, in 1619.

      • thwack March 8, 2017 at 7:05 am #

        “Q-shit”

        LOL

But Janet, I think even YOU are missing my point?

Black people don’t need compensation for racism their ancestors experienced in the past.

I need compensation for racism practiced RIGHT NOW, today…

You think white people like Janos are unique?

Imagine if Janos is an elementary school teacher? He could destroy your child and you wouldn’t even know what happened?

This is why if you want to understand how racists operate, you should study the terrorist or pedophile models; because its their stealth and deception that makes them so destructive and dangerous.

        So,

how is this related to reparations for black people?

        Well, thats easy;

How much “reparations” should white people get for having their children interact with pedophiles?

is a “one time $10K for every white” good enough?

Well then what amount of money is enough?

        • Janos Skorenzy March 8, 2017 at 2:44 pm #

Yes Thwack, you are right. Blacks need a lot of money. Rodney King was given something like three million dollars and it was gone in two years. So let’s say lo,ooo a month, for starters and subject to review. Given the Rodney King paradigm, this number is not likely to be enough. So let’s call it Phase One. We got bring the Whites along slowly. But I hear you: it’s an emergency. All Blacks, both living and dead, are crying “Gives us mo monee.” Can we be deaf to their peas?

          • thwack March 8, 2017 at 3:25 pm #

            You didnt answer the question.

          • Janos Skorenzy March 8, 2017 at 3:36 pm #

Final phase? 100,000 a month, adjustable to inflation. You think those weavs and gold teeth are cheap, honkies?

I’m keeping it multiples of ten cuz Blacks like things kept simple. That’s more than a million a year. Blacks will also be given free financial consulting and classes on how to live within their budget. Soup Kitchens will be kept open for Blacks who get caught short before the end of the munth. Blacks who can’t live within their budget will be given EBT cards and rent control apartments. We might as well keep everything in fact, Head Start, School lunches, etc.

          • thwack March 8, 2017 at 9:37 pm #

you still didn’t answer the question.

            Are you having cognition problems?

            Thats bad for the movement.

          • Janos Skorenzy March 9, 2017 at 12:37 am #

Yes, I did. You axed for a number. That’s what we were talking about. Are you axing me what a White Man is for? Same as any Man: to love and serve God and further His Purposes in the World – including the well being of other men, starting with yourself, you family, friends, etc. Concentric Circles. Most don’t have enough to give anything to Africa, except a quarter in the collection basket on Sundays. Anything else, anything done by taxation or foreign aid, is Theft.

Thus Whites may not have a special mission per se, but being unique, they will carry out The Mission in their own inimitable way. Some think Whites are supposed to conquer the World and rule it for God and the good of Non-Whites. We tried that and look where it got us. We don’t have the Wisdom or Virtue to do it well, and even if we did, we would still be resented. Leave the other races to their own Destiny and the Grace of Providence.

        • thwack March 9, 2017 at 7:20 am #

“Yes, I did. You axed for a number.”

You did not answer the question.

You are trying to avoid it like all the rest of the white people here; thats why I gotta keep asking it.

          Can you handle a hypothetical?

Can you put on your big boy pants and try it?

          Thank you.

          Here we go:

How much money would you need in order to change into a black man right now, and live out the rest of your days as a black man?

You can have ANY amount of money.

          and,

everything else about you stays the same; IQ, personality…

Wait a minute, Im not through?

You can even add on any special talents to sweeten the deal; musical ability, athletic ability, science, mathematics…

          • JimInFlorida March 9, 2017 at 7:46 pm #

NOW is when you have to throw it to the “market” to determine how much cash monies it would take to convince a White Man to become a Black Man.

You are asking for a fixed price on something that has a HYUGE number of variables that differ in quality and potential outcome.

To become Michael Jordan in his prime would require the White Man to PAY up front for the privilege!

To be an ordinary Negro in some non-descript neighborhood where the only jobs are at the wig shop, Quickee Mart, BK, or Home Depot, then that would require a ton of money. It’s not possible to put a dollar amount either way. Throw in a White Woman with serious self-esteem issues and I might sign on the dotted line.

A successful Black preacher has it made! He has his own harem, enjoys all the perks, gets to wear a 3-piece suit, and rakes in the cash! I’d do THAT conversion for nothing!

What’s he mocking? Stupid versions of originalism? The gravity of Trump’s abuse of power? POTUS himself? Using the power of the White House to falsely accuse his predecessor of an impeachable felony does qualify as an impeachable offense whether via tweet or not.

Using his office to accuse the prior POTUS of an impeachable felony in reckless disregard of truth while implying security briefings gave him unique access to evidence confirming that accusation is a high crime that could properly form an Article of Impeachment.” –Laurence Tribe, Harvard Law Professor.

    Raising a new National Elite

Patriotic financier known as the ‘Orthodox oligarch’ funds school that seeks to prepare students for the ‘inevitable’ return of monarchy.

“We are raising a new elite here,” said Zurab Chavchavadze, the dapper 74-year-old headteacher of St Basil the Great School, sitting beneath a large portrait of Russia’s last tsar, Nicholas II. “The students will be morally sound, religious, intellectual and patriotic, and will have every chance of getting into power.”

“Look at what the Russian people did with Lenin, Stalin, Putin. As soon as someone is in power for a few years, they become sacred. The Russian people strive for a monarchy; the Russian soul is monarchic,” said Chavchavadze.

The school is the pet project of Konstantin Malofeyev, a mysterious Russian financier known as the “Orthodox oligarch”. Malofeyev, well-connected in the Kremlin, is believed to have funded rebel forces in East Ukraine, and has set up a nationalist, Orthodox Christian television channel, Tsargrad. The school, he said in an interview with the Guardian, is meant to function as “an Orthodox Eton”, which will prepare the new elite for a future Russian monarchy.

Malofeyev said career politicians are venal and focused on electoral success, while monarchs can rule without the dirty business of politics intervening. He does not count Putin among the list of grubby democratic politicians, as the Russian president was handpicked by Boris Yeltsin.

Others who have gathered around Malofeyev’s tsarist agenda include Leonid Reshetnikov, formerly a general in the KGB and Russia’s SVR foreign intelligence and until recently head of an influential foreign policy think tank. Now he runs the Double-headed Eagle Society from a Moscow office adorned with portraits of Putin and Nicholas II.

Reshetnikov said he first became a monarchist when he was a KGB agent stationed in the Balkans during the 1980s, as he noticed there were no true believers in Communism. He is equally unimpressed with democracy.

Vertical separation of the society into elites and “We, the People” is objective and natural process. Every society will make its own decision as how to manage this process based on its own cultural and historic traditions, how to pick the candidates among widest possible pool of population and bring them up in the tradition of patriotism and readiness to bear their share of social responsibility.

Some of us know that SPQR stands for Senatus PopulusQue Romanus, meaning the Senate and the People of Rome. SPQR was the signal name of the Roman state during the Republic. It was also used during the Imperial period, as a anachronistic holdover from the Republican period. Less known is that the “Populus” in SPQR did not include the average Joe. It signified the elite of Rome. The term “Senatus,” the “S” in SPQR, meant the Elders”. Thus SPQR is more accurately translated as The Elders and the Elites of Rome. My reason for pointing this out is that Republican Rome did not subscribe to the notion of democracy, which they would have seen as mob rule. My point is that even in Republican Rome the need for the primacy of the Elites (and their Elders) was recognized. Another difference between this kind of rule and a monarchy, was that the Romans had replaced the earlier Kings of Rome with two Consuls, who had a term limit, and were elected by the Elites. It is pretty clear that any successful society needs their Elites. The bigger question is what are the responsibilities of the Elites? In the US the Elites have no apparently responsibility – which is certainly one of the big drivers of societal dysfunction, IMO.

      That’s what TARIFFS are for.

BTW, Wilbur Ross is a doctrinaire IDIOT. A goddamn moron. High Tech is a self-destructive demon. It HAS to remove human beings from the source and supply chain. All the training in the world WILL NOT PUT more Americans to work!

The cancerous cult of Reaganomics will have to be brought to heel by the Force Majeur of political action. If that is not done soon, then the survival of civilization will require the straight jacket of Ayn Rand’s, “Anthem,” to prevent chaos and societal suicide.

The most fundamental concept of income is that it must be EARNED in some fashion. With most, it is by labor-time value.

If people are replaced en masse by robots, then the very concept of income is turned upside down. It will force the creation of a government-supplied MANDATORY INCOME, which will be extracted by the value created by the robots.

You can see the extreme danger of human beings being robbed of the ONE THING THEY STILL OWN and can trade for money. Labor-Time Value.

The U.S. can exist very nicely with an labor-industrial profile resembling 1960. The world can have all the robots they want but, when that robot-made item hits the docks, or crosses the border, it will be hit with A FULL TARIFF that completely takes away the comparative advantage. A power saw made by a robot in China will cost the same as a power saw made by Union workers in Ohio.

Of course, for such a mostly self-sufficient economy to work, it will require the restoration of sound money. The Tribe That Shall Not Be Named will have to be confronted and financially disarmed at some point. Especially their loyal gofers in the Israel-Can-Do-No-Wrong Xtian churches.

If you want to know how this march toward ultra-cybernetics could end, please treat yourself to watching the old movie “Zardoz”. You’ll get to see a young Sean Connery and a bare breasted and young Charlotte Rampling into the bargain! Mainly, though, you can glimpse one possible dystopian future.

“This is what happens when societies (and individuals) can’t face the true quandaries of a particular moment in their history. All of their attention gets channeled into fantasy: spooks, sexual freakery, conspiracies, persecution narratives, savior fairy tales. It’s been quite a cavalcade of unreality for the past six months, with great entertainment value for connoisseurs of the bizarre — until you’re reminded that the fate of the nation is at stake.” –JHK

“I need compensation for racism practiced RIGHT NOW, today…”

Thwack, are you comparing 398 years of slavery sanctioned by the state, from 1619 to 2017, with pedofilia practiced by individuals? It is an absurd comparison. The former deserves reparations for a period of 398 years. The latter does not.

      • JimInFlorida March 8, 2017 at 9:59 pm #

I’d say Whites and Blacks are running a fairly even trade balance on racism.

Black crime on Whites, and Whites handling real estate on the DL to protect the neighborhood, is keeping the running average somewhat even.

Of course, The Tribe always shows up to rig the roulette wheel in favor of Black.

BBC, this AM, reported that the famed arch, Malta’s Azure Window, famous in movies, post cards, and featured on such programs as “Game of Thrones”, has collapsed into the sea. While it’s eventual collapse, through erosion was inevitable, the collapse was blamed on”…stormy seas”, I expect Global Warming as a culprit, and, of course, racism.

Last night “in that secret space of dreams where dreaming I lay amazed” an old deceased mentor and I had had a conversation. I told him all the things I admired about him that I never took the time to express while he was alive. I told him my only regret was that far more people did not have the opportunity to experience his profundity. He just sat there smiling and nodding, as if my unexpressed sentiments were always obvious while it felt like I was crying in my dream as I told him this.

When I awoke my bed sheets and pillows were dry as a bone but my soul felt watered and fresh and somehow more “pliant” and less rigid; an incorporeal mist in this corporeal desert, a liberating glimpse from “there” to underscore the absurdity of “here”.

Note to self for when dream wears thin: Lighten up, it’s all small stuff at the end of the day.

Yes, dreams are dreams within a dream – as is cyberspace. But mark! To the extent “Value” is experienced, that is an adumbration of Reality, then the dream becomes in a deep sense more real than the so called objective realm of everyday life.

How objective is it? Does an insect experience the same world as us? The Scriptures say that a glass of water is poison to demons but nectar to the gods. The same Light of the Mystics is experienced as Hellfire by the reprobates.

      • tucsonspur March 8, 2017 at 7:53 pm #

First, let me say it was adumbration that did it. Fired my brain cells into a cascade of distant memories, forming dream like images. A spark, igniting the surreal.

Intimations and shadows, the umbra of mental eclipse trying to obscure my current reality by bringing to mind the Ghost Shadows of Chinatown, in the city where I grew up.

Kenny Li, the dai lo of Mott St. and all of Chinatown, taking on the– yes, here they come, soaring into mind, the Flying Dragons.

Flying Dragons and Ghost Shadows swirling into my desert reality from the concrete canyons of NYC. They bring no water, maybe they imagine me a god.

They were certainly real, back then, back there, as they were here, now, for a fleeting moment, implanted in the past and reforming in the shadows of my mind, again having existence.

Before “adumbration”, the Shadows and Dragons did not exist.

    JHK,

The debt ceiling issue is another distraction and media bugaboo. You do your reputation significant damage by hanging your hat on this. Congress is not about to give Trumpty Dumpty line-item budgetary veto power, contrary to what the usually wrong David Stockman asserts. But when you write about a legitimacy crisis, which is now the permanent state of U.S. governance, you hit the mark for me. Please, more of that!

Over the weekend, what first seemed to be one part brilliant counter-punch tactic and one part groggy old man brain fart, Trump gassed out with yet more self-defeating tweets. First, why the fuck does he waste energy lashing out at irrelevant Ah-nuld, and why the fuck doesn’t he level weighty accusations against Obama during the work week with his president costume still on? Because he’s an idiot, that’s why. His enemies were stunned not so much by the audacity of his tweet against Obama but by the potential veracity of the claim, the fact that the government is well known to be spying on everyone, and then they all realized that if he didn’t pony up with specific evidence of the felony, he had screwed himself once and for all. Trump slops out again, and this time he doesn’t win the belt. Lindsey Graham now formally seeks official records regarding any wiretapping against Trump, and if his request is denied subpoenas will follow: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-wiretap-idUSKBN16F2AQ

Go figure. Trump foolishly keeps sitting on his own balls, whereas I personally think his idiocy has mostly normalized in the public mind, yet it seems he’s eager to help his enemies keep him in the hot seat

Until today, I’ve personally believed that special investigation called for by Trump’s foes (McCain, Graham, the Dems) would not produce any damning insight into his campaign’s soft-power meetings with Russian diplomats pre-election. There just isn’t any there there for me, but unpredictability seems the only safe bet when it comes to foretelling the way in which gangrenous in-fighting within the U.S. government/kakistocracy will spread. We’re learning (as if we didn’t know already) that a major workaround to domestic spying illegalities is to farm-out these ops internationally, affording U.S. deep state figureheads plausible deniability and maximum leverage with regard to political subterfuge: (min. 1:50) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fgd4WDMG4mQ

If Trump indeed knows precisely how and when this occurs, or has occurred, he’s basically fucked himself by alluding to it the way he has. Watching this play out shall be fun, not.

    K-Dog,
You may want to obtain an older F-150 or C1500 circa 1960s or 1970s PRE COMPUTER and get rid of that sirius/xm. Vault 7 Wikileaks has revealed that targets are being suicided in their autos by hacking the vehicle’s computer (through convenient back doors via the entertainment system)….think accelerator maxed out and no brakes inexplicably. This explains how reporter Mike Hastings ate it after ratting out McChrystal……unexplained fiery car crash in a rented Mercedes Coupe.

    • JimInFlorida March 8, 2017 at 9:39 pm #

Many early to mid-1980’s cars can be retro-engineered to their pre-computer configuration. If the engine existed before computers, it can be done. Not that difficult if you just put some thought into it.

I did a successful retro engineering on two cars. A 1984 Olds 88 with the 307 and a 1990 Ford Crown Vic with the 302. I wasn’t after high performance. Just reliability and simplicity.

Granted, just getting a 1960’s-1970’s car is easier but, that vintage tin is becoming scarce, the prices are just insane, and parts can be difficult to come by. Adding some 1980’s cars to your list will make it easier to get a computer-free ride.

The U.S. can exist very nicely with an labor-industrial profile resembling 1960 == JimInFlorida

    Not in a hostile world.

A power saw made by a robot in China will cost the same as a power saw made by Union workers in Ohio. == JIF

Maybe, but it would be a power saw of a much lesser quality made by consuming more resources. Jim, you’re again measuring everything with money, which you yourself claim is not sound. Basically, you’re replacing real progress with accounting trick.

of course, for such a mostly self-sufficient economy to work, it will require the restoration of sound money. == JIF

Money is just most generalized information about human economic activity. The only way to make it more sound is to make it more accurate and honest.

Were non-cash money used by Stalin during Soviet Industrialization period and just “printed” by USSR Central bank into accounts of the industrial enterprises not sound? They resulted in creation of over 9,000 industrial enterprises or 2.6 factories built every day

    • FincaInTheMountains March 9, 2017 at 7:13 am #

      Correction:

the phrase “Money is just most generalized information” should read

“Money is just most generalized and protected information”

    • aNanyMouse March 9, 2017 at 12:32 pm #

Finca, I gather that (your reference to) Stalin’s “non-cash money” is similar to his double-contour financial system (to which you referred yesterday), and to the similar system deployed by Schacht.
If so, please refer us to a web page, where this Schacht approach is described in detail.

    • JimInFlorida March 9, 2017 at 6:47 pm #

Nice try Finc but, I can shoot down your first two assertions easily.

The world of 1960 was plenty hostile. The Cold War was going, Cuba was ready to boil over, the British Empire was falling apart, etc. The labor profile, demographics, and industrial power of the U.S. was fully intact and we were strong because of them. The 90% White America trumps Mutt Nation all day long.

A genuine union-made Black & Decker circular saw made in 1960 is VASTLY SUPERIOR in performance and quality, compared to the throw away Chinese knock-off B&D circular saws. Yes, to reproduce the 1960 Black & Decker saw would be easily twice the price of the Chinese knock-off. BUT, power tools back then were made for tradesmen. They were also repairable and LASTED.

The objective of such trade and tariffs is to establish the union-made goods as the benchmark. Whether China exports its best robot-made stuff or cheap junk, it WILL be adjusted at the dock to be priced the same as the U.S-made stuff.

The material and financial degradation was done to mask the symptoms of our privatized currency and TPTB who were skimming equity out of the U.S. economy.

Sound money could be restored but, it would require Force Majeur political action to not only reject the claims of the Top 1% but, levy penalties against them and fix liens on their ill-gotten gain. A whole lot of nationalization will be necessary.

Why Stalingrad is still missing from the World’s Maps?

A statement by Stephen Bannon, who is the chief architect of Trump’s policy, in which he compared the ongoing battle in the US with Stalingrad, and from this context it is clear that he associates himself and President Trump with the Red Army in this battle, and President Trump himself in his address to The Congress and the Senate made it quite clear that he considers this struggle to be Christian, and precisely in the Orthodox sense.

Suffice to recall that the convention of the Republican Party that nominated Donald Trump for the presidency of the United States ended with an Orthodox prayer service and this is the only explanation I know of Trump’s victory in the elections.

Strangely enough, but it’s in the United States that they implicitly under the guise of World War II, proclaimed the Great Patriotic War as the Christian War, against the anti-Christian force, which until recently came closest of all other similar forces to building Hell on Earth.

Even more importantly, Britain and the Queen personally in 1941 proclaimed the Second World War and, consequently, the Great Patriotic War, the Christian War. And only Russia, becoming Orthodox, for some reason denies the religious significance of its own Victory, despite the fact that under Stalin and thanks to Stalin it was the war that was proclaimed Sacred.

This was done to please the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad (ROCA), as its parishioners 20 years ago were mostly former Nazi Vlasovites and their descendants.

Parishioners of the ROCA among themselves say that their church is the antechamber of some organization that has successfully implemented the historical concept of Ronald Reagan, according to which the USSR was the Empire of Evil. President Reagan justified this concept at the congress of evangelical churches by persecution of Orthodox Christians in the USSR. But now this concept has been transferred to Orthodox Russia, including by the same organization, the antechamber of which the ROCA is.

During the 2016 election campaign, this organization supported and continues to support a candidate who promised to compel all Christian churches to comply with the recently adopted US laws according to which the refusal to marry same-sex couples is a discrimination in the provision of religious services.

Personally I believe that, in comparison with this temptation, the assassination of the King and his family corresponds to the following words in the Holy Scripture: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Mt. 10:28). Actually, after this procedure, simply to excommunicate the priest and re-consecrate the church is not enough, it must be demolished and built in another place.

Naturally, Trump very carefully raises the question of the religious significance of the ongoing struggle, which is increasingly reminiscent of the Fourth World War (the third one was Cold War and we still have to comprehend its results from this point of view.)
Meanwhile, ISIS and the neo-Banderers seem to have already surpassed the level of atrocity of the Nazi Germany and the Russian Orthodox Church is again paralyzed by the descendants of those who paralyzed it in 1917, so that the Local Orthodox Council, which began practically simultaneously with the beginning of the Russian Revolution, almost ignored the Tsar’s abdication and the disintegration of the Orthodox Empire.

And quite a number of delegates sported red bows and took an active part in the organization of the riots.

And the force that guided the Russian February Revolution of 1917 and the destruction of the Orthodox Russian Empire, also “inspired” Khrushchev to de-Stalinize, it was these intrigues and other disorganizations in the church life that allowed that force to recover quickly enough after a crushing defeat in the US election.

Meanwhile, there is no doubt that part of this de-Stalinization was the disappearance from the World’s map of the city where the backbone of the main anti-Christian force of the 20th century was broken, the transfer of the Crimea to Ukraine and the organization of 50 antichristian pogroms in the USSR.

    And the latest publications in the American media, show that the New York rumors are a very reliable source of information;

    http://foreignpolicy.com/2017/03/07/trumps-silence-on-russian-missiles-makes-america-less-safe/

Ozone, hoo boy surprises await indeed. While you can see the general outlines of the future, there’s a dense fog within those very wide bounds. As you say, surprises await.

Actually, we just had one. A big one. One whose likelihood was scoffed at from Day One from all those in the know, and one whose probability right to the very end was minimized by all the “scientific” practitioners of statistical science and sampling techniques.

Now please, say these words after me: “President Trump”.

No, seriously, say them out loud. Did you say them out loud? Did you hear yourself? You just stated a fact. How can such a thing happen?

OK, lay down for a few minutes until the cold sweat subsides. Feel better? Now consider this, maybe the alternative was worse. Can you imagine another four or eight year infestation of those scuttling Clinton cockroaches? Yep, sad to say, all the aforementioned arose out of the great swamp-bog of American politics.

Tell me, which is more to blame, the decaying vegetable matter that passes for brains in the self-proclaimed “intellectuals” of the “Left” that tout “open borders” as an unalloyed good, no matter the abundant profusion of evidence to the contrary?

Or do you blame the zombie apocalypse “Right” and its walking, brain-dead spawn, Principled Conservatives, who tout the same thing? You get your pick.

See, the question is this, how can events be channeled so as to minimize damage? I don’t give a shit what shit happens to the foisters and makers of the unfolding calamities. Some say they’ll be decorating lamp-posts, others say they’ll find themselves in much reduced circumstances, the least of the lessers once the rubble stops bouncing. All the same to me.

I’m concerned about the folk that I grew up with, people that Trump and others called the “forgotten”. Truly though, they weren’t “forgotten”, rather they were deemed dispensable. And not “left behind”, as the Left so condescendingly sez, so much as thrown over-board and run over. And if their lot isn’t bettered, it will all be for nothing.

There’s that school of thought that sez coming events can’t be channeled, that they will emerge as a raging torrent, a shit-storm of people and objects and happenings a lot like the tsunami that swept away the Japanese coastline not so long ago. Those of us agile enough to make the high-ground will watch agape.

And people that proclaim the Second Coming of Fascism suffer from a severe deficiency of imagination. Firstly it bespeaks a contempt for people that for decades watched their livelihoods and money and dignity systematically stripped away and who now dare to protest. Their dissent is registered among the high and mighty as “deplorable” as if their interests are beneath any legitimacy or consideration by those, who by their own estimation, are the ones who matter.

Is it just contempt for unworthy, low-down deplorables? No, ain’t just that. In my estimation there’s a deep well of ignorance among these high-brows that tell us they know, because what really the fuck do they know? What I know comes from people that were there, that sweated out bombardments, that tried to stay alive for the next five minutes and then the next. There’s no knowledge like that knowledge and I don’t give a fuck what degrees get dangled.

Whatever. Even the high-falutins would agree that Fascism arose out of the 19th and early 20th Centuries. Can’t over-complicate and obscure that. But the political movements in our future will be specific to OUR time and OUR circumstances no matter that there may be surface similarities. You know, like arm-bands and straight arm salutes. As Twain said the future rhymes, it doesn’t repeat.

    • Janos Skorenzy March 9, 2017 at 7:03 pm #

Well said. Fascism is just Nationalism – the Nationalism natural to an Industrial State under attack. Did American centralize and become intolerant during the Civil War, WW1 & 2? Of course.

Has Ozone ever said what he believes about the borders? He hates the idea of Whites having anything of their own so he may well hate the idea of closing the borders.

Every man wants to make the Roman salute. Every man who is a man that is. There’s more to life, of course. Just as there’s more to life than bread – as long as there is enough bread. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs is in play. We neglected the well being of the Nation and the higher (not sports) Masculine Value Sphere for a long time. Now comes the Pendulum Swing and the Compensation. You guys better get practicin’ in the mirror. It is the better the Pit of National Collapse, is it not?

I see in today’s NYT Obits that boxing legend, Lou Duva has died at age 94.

    An anecdote:

I am a bit of a boxing aficionado and so some years ago (15-20 perhaps) I took my eldest son to a match at the historic Blue Horizon on north Broad Street in Philly. Google it. It was once voted the greatest boxing venue in the world. It held 1500 people. If you were seated at the front railing of the second level you could have literally jumped into the ring. That’s how intimate this place was. If memory serves, the feature fight that evening involved one Steve Cauthen whom no one has seen before or since. I still possess the T-shirt that I got as a freebie that has pictured on it a pair of boxing gloves and the words “Steve Cauthen, Bringin’ the Heat.”

I went to the crowded lobby to buy a Beer and who do I see emerging from a hallway leading from the boxers dressing room but Lou Duva, followed by Cauthen who was throwing jabs at the air in front of him.

I walked straight up to Duva, reached out and said, “I must shake the hand of the great Lou Duva so I can tell my friends.”

Do you remember Sugar Ray Leonard against Aldama in the ’76 Olympics gold medal bout?

Aldama was a slimy, tricky bastard. And Leonard had to reach down deep to get the gold. Hats off to Leonard, he won it on pure guts.

I’m sure I must have seen it on TV but it is not etched in memory as is, for example, Hagler/Hearns.

I DID see tall skinny welterweight Mark Breland’s first fight, live and in person, at the 1984 LA Olympics. He damn near lost it but went on to win the Gold Medal.

I also remember Hagler-Hearns. But I don’t remember Breland. There’s some that really stick out like Carbajal losing the gold in the 88 Olympics. I thought he won it easily and I thought it was crooked judges that took it away from him.

      A joke for a joke:

One afternoon, a lawyer was riding in his limousine when he saw two men along the road-side eating grass.

Disturbed, he ordered his driver to stop and got out to investigate.

He asked one man, “Why are you eating grass?”

“We don’t have any money for food,” the poor man replied. “We have to eat grass.”

“Well, then, you can come with me to my house and I’ll feed you,” the lawyer said.

“But sir, I have a wife and two children with me. They are over there, under that tree.”

“Bring them along,” the lawyer replied.

Turning to the other poor man he stated, “You may come with us,also.”
The second man, in a pitiful voice, then said, “But sir, I also have a wife and six children with me!”

“Bring them all as well,” the lawyer answered.

They all entered the car, which was no easy task, even for a car as large as the limousine.

Once under way, one of the poor fellows turned to the lawyer and said,”Sir, you are too kind.
Thank you for taking all of us with you.”

The lawyer replied, “Glad to do it. You’ll really love my place. The grass is almost a foot high.”

Come on now…you really didn’t think there was such a thing as a heartwarming lawyer story…did you?

Reminds me of a joke I heard long ago! I’m sure Finca has heard this one!

Mikhail Gorbachev was just wrapping up a big meeting in Paris and got back on the train to return to Moscow.

He kept the blinds down in the car he traveled in.

His aides asked, “Sir, would you like the blinds raised so you can see the scenery?”

Gorbachev said, “No, I can tell where we are at any time.”

To prove it, he stuck his hand out the window and said, “We are in Germany.”

A little while later, Gorbachev stuck his hand out the window and said, “We are in Poland.”

Finally, a little while later, he stuck his hand out the window and said, “We are in Russia.”

His aides were amazed and said, “Sir, you were correct every single time! How did you know from just sticking your hand outside and not even looking out?”

Gorbachev said, “The first time I stuck my hand out, I got a handful of flowers.

The second time, my hand was covered in spit.

The third time, my wrist watch was stolen.”

What I can’t figure out is why all these rednecks in poverty States (most of the south), are Trump supporters, when all he stands for is furthering the prosperity of the powers that be. Are these people so uninformed as to actually believe his bullshit? With Trump and the Republicans in power, all of the benefits of society will accrue to the top 5%. Don’t get me wrong, I am no Democrat supporter any more, since they have sold us out to the corporations just as the Republicans have. Until there is a revolution, nothing will change. If you don’t see what is happening, then you are condemned to be a member of the slave class. What that means is that you yourself will forge the chains that are used to bind you. If you can accept what is being done in this country, there is little hope for you. The top 5% of the country will continue to rule, and there is little hope for the masses. I admit to becoming a defrocked Democrat, having finally realized that the former party of the working man has become yet another tool of the Oligarchy. Nothing will change until the people rise up. Otherwise, we are well on the way towards becoming a dictatorship, and it will happen with the support of ignorant people. To quote: “Democracy contains the seeds of its own destruction”. Let he who hath the eyes to see, see.

    • volodya March 9, 2017 at 2:56 pm #

Captain, I don’t think there’s enough Rednecks to have put Trump in the Presidency. There has to have been enough Blacks and Hispanics etc that voted with the Rednecks to get to the magic number.

In any case, that’s not really the point. Your question, in short, is how did he get elected? IMO it was because he was the only one that said to Ford execs – and I’m paraphrasing – if you move that car plant to Mexico I will hit every car you try to export to the US with a 35% tariff and nobody will buy your cars. He was signalling to the deplorables that he’s watching out for them. And the deplorables listened.

And, basically, the Democrats spent the campaign yelling about racism and gays and LGBTQ and washroom arrangements and how morally superior they were, while Trump was appealing to the economic interests of a broad swathe of people whose prospects have gotten worse and worse. And Hispanics and Blacks heard it too. What the Dems forgot is that Blacks and Hispanics are part of that working class.

But what Trump sez and what he does could very well end up being two different things, for example, he’s continued the infestation of Goldman alumni, which bodes ill. No matter what, those factories that got moved to China are staying there as the jobs those factories provide are what gives the Chinese Communist regime its political legitimacy. If those jobs disappear, all those unemployed workers are going to look to those Chinese Communist Party billionaires in their palaces. And the Chinese Communist billionaires know that their necks are on the line. Those factories will stay there at gun point.

In any case, no matter what Trump does, the system that the American oligarchs set up with the help of their bi-coastal bureaucratic clerisy is unworkable and unfixable. Something new will take its place. The question is what.

      • capt spaulding March 9, 2017 at 3:20 pm #

With all due respect, Volodya, The point I was trying to make is that once you filter out all the bullshit, the powers that be are only interested in continuing the same policies that have left the Oligarchs in control in the first place. They will continue to bamboozle the public with supposed differences, when in fact, they just want to continue with things as they are. The closest analogy I can think of is in Europe when the Aristocrats became worried about the peasant’s dissatisfaction with the way things were going. They gave them something to worry about, which was witchcraft. As long as they were able to keep the peasants busy burning each other, it was business as usual. I’ve never seen a reference to a member of the nobility in any country being burned at the stake. Only peasants. As near as I can see, that is exactly what is going on here, and as long as they can keep people at each other’s throats, they will be able to keep their hold on power. As far as what will take the place of the current system, that is what worries me. The alternatives to Democracy are mostly not that pleasant to consider. Yours in rational thinking, I remain the captain.

        • volodya March 9, 2017 at 3:33 pm #

I understand your point that the PTB are all about the status quo economically and politically because it has been, until now, a very profitable status quo. And I fully agree that they’ve been fomenting division and distraction in the great unwashed for that very end.

But my point is that this status quo is untenable because of the illogic and contradictions built into it. The idea has been to offshore industry to China because of buck an hour wages and to export goods to the US. Yet in offshoring all those thousands of factories and millions of jobs, they managed to gut both the purchasing power of the US market and the tax base of the US government.

Now, the Oligarchs and their lackeys in the media kept telling us for decades that growth and jobs would take the place of those lost. Well, that was a big fat fairy tale and the financial collapse in 2008 is testament to that. The only way they’ve managed to keep the wheels on is to incur trillions more in federal debt and to suppress interest rates.

As I said, this is unworkable. As JHK sez, this is a failed arrangement. It may take a while to come apart which will likely involve some of the proceedings getting kinetic. What takes the place of this failed arrangement? Your guess is as good as mine.

Thanks to Trump, illegal border crossings have decreased 40% last month alone. The message is out. Illegals not wanted here. True Americans should start doing what they should have done years ago.
Put signs in front of their homes saying, “illegals get out”, or “illegals not wanted”.

We may still be able to prevent this nation from becoming another “third world shithole”.

Under Trump, the rich are certainly going to get richer. The poor may not get poorer, but they’re not about to begin dining out above fast food any too often. Maybe Denny’s now and then.

Within a year or two, if not sooner, costs of medical care will again increase. Count on it. Competition in the market place for health care. Costs will go down. What bullshit!

As I said previously, one can’t have everything. Battles must be chosen. I choose the fight to protect our borders and national security, to restore law and order, and to preserve for as long as possible what Whites and the West have magnificently built over the last few centuries.

      • pequiste March 9, 2017 at 5:25 pm #

A total immigration moratorium for minimum10-20 years would be a very good start on stopping the U.S. ship of state from sinking. See how many people are emigrating out and perhaps a formula can be arrived at to stabilize the population at 250 million or so. WIth the number of USA residents headed to 400 million it would likely be game over as resource exhaustion (water, energy, farmland ) becomes the intractable problem not jobs.

However when the AI/robot revolution makes its Great Leap Forward (“The SIngularity” in popular parlance) and 70% of jobs can and are accomplished by robots or AI devices then things get very messy: see the Georgia Guidestones for coming attractions.

        • janet March 9, 2017 at 6:13 pm #

The Georgia Guidestones recommend that we exterminate 7,100,000,000 people to get the population down to 500,000,000. I’ll pass. Who gets to decide who dies and lives? I wonder how they arrived at that number?

I think the Georgia Guidestones are the product of some close minded people who think they know what is best for the rest of us. I don’t trust people like that because they just want what is best for them.

Besides that they also embrace Nazi principles: “Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.” Wasn’t that part of the Nazis’ program?

        • Janos Skorenzy March 9, 2017 at 6:53 pm #

Say twenty years but mean forever as far as Muslims and Blacks go. Just like the Georgia Guidestones say 500 million while the Elite probably mean more like 50 million.

Give the man a break – he’s been only 50 days in and seems to be following on his pre-election promises. Health care in US is ridiculous (ridiculously, out-of-hand expensive) and much so due to the fact that medical “industry” is not subject to anti-trust laws and prone to price fixing.

Read that guy – https://market-ticker.org/ – he writes a lot about it.

But Trump has his hands tied up trying to rein in US “intelligence community” to be able to go at the same time against all-powerful insurance lobby, AMA, pharmaceutical companies. It’ll take time.

No the ruin of America is there is no America. People confuse citizens with Americans. What does it mean? Some have decided that American means nothing, or everything, or for Jorge Ramos, it is everyone and anyone. You make it here, you’re one. Imagine that in Mexico. Imagine if Mexicans didn’t have a xenophobic and racist law that keeps non-Mexicans from owning land? Image if the European-stock patrician and ruling class Mexicans like intellectual lightweight Ramos wren’t so blatantly racist and patronizing. They use the lower classes as foot soldiers to spread the disease of misgovernance and lawlessness northward. America is ruined because it means nothing, it is worthless, a name and nothing more. It means a person that hangs his hat in a border and nada mas.

“You make it here, you’re one.” –Frankiti

Exactly. That is what makes this America and not Mexico. America was founded by immigrants from England seeking religious freedom. Throughout America’s history those who make it here are accepted. That is why I love America. That is why you are wrong to say “there is no America” … acceptance of immigrants, or anyone who makes it here, is what characterizes America, not Mexico. We are different. We welcome immigrants We are immigrants.

Finca, you know that I’m a Trump supporter, but my views regarding change in the health care industry aren’t as optimistic as yours. Your link pretty much supports my position, as it illustrates how terrible this first bill proposal is.

My image of a successful nation starts essentially with what we have now with these (not all inclusive) changes:

    Term limits

    All illegals out

    Extremely limited, merit based immigration

Huge tax increases on the rich, tax code simplification

Health care for all, single payer

Stringent border control and law enforcement

Somehow, someway, get back good paying jobs

Life imprisonment for big Banksta, Wall Street thieves

Yeah, I know, easy to say.

Health care is the big moral issue. People work all their lives, struggle and save, only to have their life long efforts subject to medical industry confiscation. No, you can’t take it with you, but the medical industry will take it for you. Why the fuck do they deserve it? Younger families are ruined financially because of catastrophic illness. It goes on and on.

We have over 500 billionaires in this country with a net worth of around 2.4 trillion. And then there are many people worth tens, scores, and hundreds of millions. Is there no connection between money and morality? Of course there is.

Franki is right on his point, and the furtive Mexican rat, and you are right on the moral issue. It is a BMI, not body mass index, but Big Moral Issue.

Finca, I gather that (your reference to) Stalin’s “non-cash money” is similar to his double-contour financial system (to which you referred yesterday), and to the similar system deployed by Schacht.
If so, please refer us to a web page, where this Schacht approach is described in detail.
    == aNanyMouse

Quite frankly, I can’t find good references in English speaking media.

The disconnection of the contours of cash circulation – first contour serving personal and family consumer needs, and the second contour – non-cash circulation serving the purpose of large infrastructural/industrial projects(cross-payments between industrial enterprises for materials, machinery, electric power and so on), prevents the legalization of unearned income as a source of existence for families and clans of internal parasites and protects from them the majority of the population – the working people.

Basically that builds a systemic barrier to stealing the funds that were allocated for socially-important projects – construction of a hospital or a highway – through various corruption schemes – cutting technical corners, using lesser quality materials and so on and pocketing the difference. That allows public money allocated through National Credit to be used to a maximum efficiency, of course less than 100%, but say 75 – 80% in comparison to current disastrous 25 – 30%.

Just recall the story of the US Army spending $43 million to build Afghanistan gas station that should normally cost just half-million dollars to build.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-afghanistan-idUSKCN0SR29O20151102

You just can’t put everybody in front of a firing squad; you have to find a systemic approach fighting the inevitable corruption.

    • FincaInTheMountains March 10, 2017 at 7:06 am #

In principle, if President Trump will start a massive US infrastructure re-building program, he’ll have to use some protective mechanism which will prevent infrastructure funds “printed” into economy from being mostly stolen and hit consumer market thus causing a rampant US consumer inflation.

All he’ll have do is to have local branches of Federal Reserve to create “special infrastructure” bank accounts, payments on which could be made or accepted from similar authorized accounts – you can’t use that money to pay for groceries, luxury cars of parties with cocaine and hookers, only for cement, steel, equipment and so on. Only small percentage of those funds would be converted to cash money, mostly paid in wages, strictly according to list of employees.

Also, one wouldn’t be able to take that money and make a run for Caribbean.

    Rubber hits the Road

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is urging Congress to raise the U.S. debt ceiling “at the first opportunity.”

In a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan, Mnuchin pointed out that the suspension of the statutory debt limit will expire on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. The following day, the outstanding debt of the United States will be at the statutory debt limit.

    http://www.breitbart.com/economics/2017/03/09/mnuchin-calls-ryan-raise-debt-limit-asap/

I guess in just few weeks we going to find out who was right regarding U.S. debt ceiling.

President Obama stopped printing the money in 2014, except to cover US urgent needs – no money for globalist parasites.

One of the main contradiction between two sides of American Cold Civil War is one side wants to continue printing money and finish off what remains of US real economy, the other – save the US economy and stop printing the money, except for most urgent domestic needs.

Theoretically, if Mr. Trump will remain in power, we should expect by Spring of 2017 call for a new Bretton Woods conference.

Russian Orthodox Church included in its prayers appeal St. Patrick

Appealing in prayers to St. Patrick eliminates one of the main dangers and one of the main temptations of the Russian Orthodox Church is the desire to confront the West as the West. The fact is that before the year 800 the Orthodox Church consisted of two parts – Western and Eastern, – but it was the one in Christ Orthodox Church.

Each part had its own peculiarities, but these features were jewels in the common treasury of national cultures of Orthodox Christian Nations. And the main baptizer of the West was St. Patrick, and the Pope was part of the Eastern Church. Moreover, since it was the Irish monks who baptized the closest relatives of Vladimir the Red Sun – the Normans of Western Europe – there is no doubt that they contributed to the baptism of Russia on a par with Orthodox Byzantium.

For the first time on the land of Ireland, St. Patrick stepped at the age of 16 as a slave kidnapped by Irish pirates. He managed to escape from Ireland, but on the orders of the angel he returned to the land of Ireland as a Christian bishop and after that Ireland just exploded with monks and missionaries, scholastics and theologians, historians and copyists of books.

These people, having received the baptism from the hands of St. Patrick, became the main Christianizers of Western Europe. Irish Christian communities sent missionaries to the most remote corners of Europe, unable to contain their awe with the beauty of Christ, which was revealed to them by Saint Patrick and his disciples.

They founded monasteries and Christian communities, created Orthodox schools that became the basis of European universities, collected libraries, leading Europe out of barbarism into which it plunged after the fall of the Western Roman Empire and baptized, baptized, baptized.

    ***************************

    blah blah blah…

    *sigh*

Why are you white people trying to make this exercise so difficult?

Its a very simple question; yet all you clowns are acting like its not?

Like I explained before; EVERYTHING about you stays the same except people NOW mistake you for some black Hollywood actor, athlete, musician…

Look at it this way; when a person has a sex change operation, they are still the same “person”; memories, identity…

    Thats all Im asking?

How much money would any white person reading this blog need to do the “race re assignment operation” and be a black person for the rest of their life?

I’ll even sweeten the deal further?

I’ll let you take 20 years off your current age?

    Now,

with all that said, I have a magic check book with unlimited funds and can cut you a check for ANY amount of money?

    So

    once again,

here is the question for white people:

How much money (I can even pay you in gold) would I need to pay you to be changed into a black person for the rest of your life?

    Im waiting for an answer?

    This is your final offer.

thwack, your putting up too many variables and then asking for a fixed price. Some things CANNOT be priced in mere money! You’re starting to smell like dannyboy with this insistence on money pricing of such things.

The better question is to ask: “What social elevation would you demand in exchange for becoming Black?”

A no-name nobody (like me) would demand to be AT LEAST a well-known Black preacher to accept the conversion.

Therefore, THE PRICE is to gain some kind of social status that White Men are not allowed to have. THAT IS MY PRICE.

*YOU’RE*… not “your” in the first sentence.

        ****************************

30 million dollars wouldn’t elevate you “socially?”

OK, try this one (for men only):

How much money would you need to take a 7 inch reduction in height?

For me it would be 5 million an inch.

American Orthodox Queen gaining in popularity

Melania Trump’s approval ratings are way up.

About 52% of Americans have a favorable opinion of Melania Trump, an increase from 36% pre-inauguration. In February 2016, the former model’s favorable rating was a paltry 24%, her unfavorable was 31% and 23% had never even heard of her. Now, just 3% say they don’t know who the first lady is, and her unfavorable rate has held steady at 32%.

Oh, and by the way – the jobs market is sizzling. Domestic employers added a jaw-dropping 235,000 new jobs last month, while the unemployment rate ticked down to 4.7 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.

January’s employment was revised upward to 238,000 from the earlier read of 227,000.

I advise you to hesitate to celebrate much, in light of doubts expressed by prescient students of this stuff.
See Mish Shedlock, at https://mishtalk.com/2017/03/10/solid-jobs-report-but-divergence-between-jobs-and-employment-is-still-strong/ , and Karl Denninger, at https://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=231895 .

Karl Denninger is a great specialist in the stock market, but if you’ve taken his advice for such stocks as Netflix, you’d lose your shirt.

Besides, that guy always grumbles, almost against anything.

Yeah, his investment views (esp. on gold) are brutal, but his broad views on the economic data, and the malfunctions within so many US systems (esp. health care and nutrition) are superb.

Most of his grumbling is well-worth reading.

I happen to believe that antonym to English word “Depression” is “Optimism”, not the “Bull Market”.
