When historians of the future finish their meal of rat à la moutarde at the campfire, and pass around the battered plastic jug of wild raisin wine, they will kick back and hear the griot sing of John Brennan, the fabled chief of an ancient order called the CIA, and how he started the monkey business aimed at bringing down the wicked Golden Golem of Greatness, chief of chiefs in the land once known as America. Alas, the hero’s journey of Brennan, ends in a jail cell at the storied Allenwood Federal Penitentiary, where he slowly pined away between games of ping-pong and knock-hockey, dreaming of a cable network retirement package that never was….

One gets the feeling more and more that Mr. Brennan is at the center of this ever-mushrooming matrix of scandals around the 2016 election. “Bigger Than Watergate?” the headline in today’s New York Times asks? The mendacity of this once-proud newspaper is really something to behold. Take the following paragraph, for instance:

“Depending on what is eventually proven, the core scandal could rival Watergate, in which a “third-rate burglary” of Democratic National Committee headquarters ultimately revealed a wide-ranging campaign of political sabotage and spying to influence the 1972 presidential election and undercut perceived rivals. In the current case, a hostile foreign power sought to sway the 2016 election and there is evidence that at least some people in Mr. Trump’s circle were willing to collaborate with it to do so.”

You have to really wonder how the Times editors overlooked the other relevant details in the current case pertaining to goings-on initiated by Mr. Brennan and involving obviously criminal misbehavior among the US Intelligence services, and especially the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in their effort to un-do the election that put the Trump creature in the White House instead of the enchantress known as Hillary. I did like the trope “a hostile foreign power.” Apparently they were too embarrassed to just say “Russia,” since by now it has become the most threadbare hobgoblin in all of US political history.

Rumors are flying that the long-awaited (so long it is nearly forgotten) Department of Justice Inspector General’s report contains a rather severe interpretation of what actually has been going on for the last couple of years in this farrago of charge and countercharge that the legacy news media has been doing its best to garble and deflect — namely, that the highest officers of the government conspired to tamper with the 2016 election. The latest twist is news — actually reported by the Times Thursday — that the FBI placed a “mole” inside the Trump campaign. If the mole discovered anything, then it is the only morsel of information that hasn’t been leaked in two years, which leads the casual observer to infer that the mole found really nothing.

On the other hand, a great deal is already known about the misdeeds surrounding Hillary and her supporters, including Mr. Obama and his inner circle, and some of those incriminating particulars have been officially certified — for example, the firing of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on recommendations of the Agency’s own ethics committee, with overtones of criminal culpability. There is also little ambiguity left about the origin of the infamous Steele Dossier. It’s an established fact that it was bought-and-paid-for by the Democratic National Committee, which is to say the Hillary campaign, and that many of the dramatis personae involved lied about it under oath. Many other suspicious loose ends remain to be tied. Those not driven insane by Trumpophobia are probably unsatisfied with the story of what Attorney General Loretta Lynch was doing, exactly, with former President Bill Clinton during that Phoenix airport tête-à-tête a few days before FBI Director Jim Comey exonerated Mr. Clinton’s wife in the email server “matter.”

One can see where this tangled tale is tending: to the sacred chamber known as the grand jury. Probably several grand juries. That will lead to years of entertaining courtroom antics at the same time that the USA’s financial condition fatefully unravels. That event might finally produce the effect that all the exertions of the so-called Deep State have failed to achieve so far: the discrediting of Donald Trump. Alas, the literal discrediting of the USA and its hallowed institutions — including the US dollar — may be a much more momentous thing than the fall of Trump.

Personally, I won’t be completely satisfied until the editors of The New York Times have to answer to charges of sedition in a court of law.

School shooting reported ongoing right now in Santa Fe, Texas. The ATF (ministry of alcohol, tobacco, and firearms for those non-US readers) is reacting. If we are going to run the largest security state in the history of the world, it may as well be put to good use.

    • thenuttyneutron May 18, 2018 at 12:08 pm #

I have no doubt that the media will be howling about this all day and through the weekend. What amazes me is how the US media is pushing the anti-gun meme so hard. When you think about who owns the media and pulls the strings it starts to make sense.

If this were about saving lives or safety, they would be pushing to ban cars and cell phones. This is not about safety. This is about power! You would have to have several “Sandy Hooks” a month to rack up the body counts of cars and I don’t seem to recall hearing anything about “common sense car control”, or “why does anyone need a SUV?”.

The elites have to be thinking about the massive numbers of firearms in the hands of civilians. I keep hearing this bullshit about “common sense” gun control. The only gun control I recognize is having the correct body position, natural point of aim, cadence breathing and trigger control to allow a person to put lead on target with less than a 4 MOA deviation.

The elites know that they can’t take everything from the rest of us as long as we are armed. They are now pushing hard to regulate guns away so that they can take what is left. The system has been rigged against the average Joe for many years and slowly over time we have been robbed by the banking cartel.

Fuck them! I won’t give any of my firearms up and I will encourage others to fight hard to keep this civil right. I recently rejoined the NRA after telling them to eat shit and die 10 years ago after they pulled the bullshit in trying to stop Heller from taking his case forward to the SCOTUS.

I think the leftist’s next move will be to go after the ammunition. A gun with no ammo is just a nice steel club.

Unlike Kunstler, I did vote for Trump and I don’t like the guy. He is rude, crude and has the emotional intelligence of a 5 year old throwing a tantrum over a parent having the audacity of telling him “no”. The whole father daughter thing between him and Ivanka creeps me out. I did however have no other options because HRC is dangerous and should never be trusted with anything important.

The 2016 election gives me a bit of hope that unlike our banking system, our political system has not been completely corrupted. I hope they get lots of convictions for people using their official positions to sabotage the election. I also want to see HRC and Loretta Lynch receive a fair trial. I don’t mean fair to them. I mean fair to us. There are too many people that would never convict based solely on political reasons.

      • draupnir May 18, 2018 at 12:41 pm #

I suspect that since the last election turned out so badly for them it was the last true election we will ever have. I can’t see them making the same mistake again.

        • teddyboy46 May 19, 2018 at 11:10 am #

I totally agree. Trump winning reminded me of the story of the tortoise and the hare. The Dems were so busy patting themselves on the back Trump slipped thru. Your right It was the last true election we will ever have.

      • PeteAtomic May 18, 2018 at 12:53 pm #

You don’t need to ban guns. You can however institute policy like using fingerprint control tech on firearms. So, an adult would need to unlock a firearm for under 18 year olds. Kids are doing these shootings, not adults.

I think you’d start to see a shift towards mass attacks with knives and cars then. I don’t know what the reaction would turn into about that, but it wouldn’t be focused on guns.

So, if the US is experiencing one school attack a week, when does that cross from an “act of random violence” into a bigger phenomenon? It’s interesting that the media does not present these attacks as anything but random, as if they are now just a “act of God” category. The deaths could have been caused by a flood or fire. This is much, much more complicated then just guns. Boys aged 15-17 are attacking schools– the place where they are supposed to be getting prepared to be functioning members of a society. So, if they are attacking this center of preparation– maybe what they are really saying with these attacks is that they are not only rejecting American society, but that’s worth an armed struggle against that society.

I don’t know. Just a thought. Maybe it’s all bullshit, and the real reason is that some little shithead is pissed cuz he wasn’t able to play his Xbox 4 the night before.

        • Exscotticus May 24, 2018 at 1:46 am #

When militaries and police start using expensive unproven battery operated trigger systems, then it will be a realistic option. You can’t force civilian gun owners to be R&D testers for a product no one else will use.

      • Jigplate May 18, 2018 at 1:26 pm #

“I won’t give any of my firearms up and I will encourage others to fight hard to keep this civil right.”

I don’t think you are the only one. Ironically, The left is to blame for this – the “resistance” die has been cast. In NY, the “SAFE” act came with a registration requirement for semi-auto firearms. After a FOI request and a two year lawsuit, the state was forced to release compliance data. It seems that only an estimated 4% complied. It seems like an awful lot of people in one of the North East’s most liberal states have stuck up a big fat middle finger to Coumo. And this was supposed to establish his leftist bona fides for a presidential run . Sorta reminds me of the old 60’s meme “what if they had a war and nobody came”. Now it’s “What if they made a law and everybody ignored it”.

      • Elrond Hubbard May 18, 2018 at 4:50 pm #

thenuttyneutron: “I have no doubt that the media will be howling about this all day and through the weekend.”

As of now, the current count is 8 to 10 dead, mostly students. In my world, when a bunch of kids get murdered, that’s newsworthy. I understand it happens a lot in the USA, but still.

What I’m trying, and failing, to understand is how this becomes an occasion for blaming the media, when it should prompt an all-hands-on-deck effort to root out this sickness from American society once and for all.

        • Walter B May 19, 2018 at 9:29 pm #

Sorry but it is a deep rooted and multi-faceted societal problem long in the making, but without a workable solution. Our American society as well as it’s “leadership” has long since lost the ability to solve problems, pretty much even the simple ones. If you cannot understand this or should you choose to not believe it, just come down here and live in it for many decades. It is not as it seems to the casual or the long distance observer.

        • Exscotticus May 24, 2018 at 2:01 am #

What you’re trying and failing to understand is that the coverage these shootings get and the subsequent politization of tragedy is way out of proportion to what these events are in reality: extremely rare. They encourage other suicidal pyschos.

For you, destroying a 200+ year tradition of robust civilian gun ownership to go from 5 deaths per 100k to 1 per 100k is common sense.

For me, all you did was take a really small number and reduce it to a slightly smaller number, while taking away any realistic means for my wife and daughter to protect themselves from rape or worse.

Every nation with the kind of gun control you opine for still has shootings and massacres. 10x less perhaps. But still a very small number in either case.

Meanwhile, infants suffocate from pillows and such at a rate of 20 per 100k. I’m guessing you want to ban those as well…

      • KentW May 18, 2018 at 11:21 pm #

Thank you. Very well articulated. I would just suggest that “the left” you refer to is actually not really “left”. It seems like you refer to the Clintonesque mainstream Democrats there, which are not “left” politically at all, but rather a grotesque form of neoliberal. Many on the actual left would have much in common with your sentiments.

        • ozone May 19, 2018 at 10:13 am #

          KentW,
There you go. It’s a pity that this needs to be pointed out on this blog, but it’s a *constant* trope that Clintonists represent “the left”.
On the political leanings spectrum, I’d place them in the camp of center right, with shades of neo-con aspirations. (One must declare these aspirations in order to collect corporate bribes and the more one declares, the more one begins to cleave to one’s own bullshit.)

    • sprawlcapital May 19, 2018 at 3:31 pm #

      Right on.

We spend around half a trillion dollars every year on our Department of “Defense”. We should be able to defend our schools with restricted access points, metal detectors, and well-trained guards.

That means every school, from the smallest elementary school, to the 3000-student high schools.

[It goes without saying that we should be able to defend our borders as well.]

      • Walter B May 19, 2018 at 9:33 pm #

Would that be the Department of The Best Defense is a Good Offense? The same one that launches dozens of small attacks and “little” wars all over the globe according to the PNAC Plan of September 2000? It would be nice and I would love to see it myself, but there is far more profit in bombing Syria, isn’t there? In the end, it is all about the profit, screw the kiddies, we have plenty of them, no? Their mentality, NOT mine, I assure you.

  2. Walter B May 18, 2018 at 10:05 am #

Thank you for perusing the rags once called “newspapers” Jim because I cannot go anywhere near any of those insults to human intelligence. You keep me abreast of the latest pathetic lies that they are ramming up the bung holes of the Common American Idiots. I cannot believe that anyone goes to them for entertainment at all. It would appear that in a place where guilt is established by mere accusation, Truth itself has been whittled away into a seldom used back scratcher or some other quaint entity of old.

The possibility that there is even a single dolt out there that will listen to those in our “government” that rail on about forcing a “regime change” in Syria while bemoaning “interference” by “hostile bad guys” is terrifying. An organization like our own, dear CIA which is famous for it’s revolutions, assassination, and overthrows of foreign governments is somehow acceptable, while speaking with Russians is an act of treason? Damn we are toast.

The only sanity that can still be had anymore is located in a few small cyber chambers such as your blog here. Thank you for doing it, it may not stop the oncoming train wreck, but at least we will not be surprised when the unstoppable force contacts the immovable object. Be well James.

    • JohnAZ May 18, 2018 at 10:28 am #

Our press has deteriorated to a mouthpiece of the New World Order. Why? Because the NWO contingent owns them, and runs them, period.

      • noel bodie May 18, 2018 at 11:09 am #

I see lots of assertions but not much to back them. Whataboutism on a friday morning. Try this on for size.

        https://investigaterussia.org/timelines/everything-we-know-about-russia-and-president-trump

        • LagingRunatic May 18, 2018 at 12:11 pm #

Noel, this timeline is truly fnord damning. According to it, Trump has been planning to fnord steal the 2016 election since 1979.

That is only half of the story, alas. Evidence now shows that Russia was helping to pave Trump’s way to the White House before there WAS a White House. How else can a reasonable fnord person explain Catherine the Great’s attempts to mediate between the fledgling US and Great Britain?

          • noel bodie May 18, 2018 at 1:33 pm #

            “Fnord”?

    • PeteAtomic May 18, 2018 at 1:03 pm #

“The only sanity that can still be had anymore is located in a few small cyber chambers such as your blog here.”

I think it would really benefit people to get involved in creating sanity in their own families, neighborhoods and communities. That’s where it all starts. Advocating for New Urbanism in your local town is also a good start.

      • Walter B May 18, 2018 at 3:05 pm #

I am not having a lot of luck with that one. Most of the people in my small Township are of the “my way or the highway” mindset or do not give a damn about anything outside of their own little worlds. I’ll keep trying though, not many other choices out there.

        • ozone May 19, 2018 at 10:26 am #

          Walter,
I guess the only meaningful action to be taken would be to construct an escape hatch for your children and grandchildren from the grip of authoritarian bureaucracy and the quasi-military law enforcement shenanigans. …And make sure they *know it’s there*. That the lock-down is coming in direct reflection of economic decline will be the toughest thing to convince screen-starers of; that seems to be one of the whiz-bang technotopia’s most pernicious effects. “They’ll think of something… I mean, just LOOK at all this cool shit we have to play with now!”

But, other than that, I wish you all the best in your current efforts; keep up the good work. You never know; something might start to stick as things get wobblier (and get wobblier they will).

          • Walter B May 20, 2018 at 4:56 am #

I do not think that there can actually be an escape hatch on a submarine, especially one with a screen door for a main entrance. Not accepting where we are going or what they are doing is the first thing to do and keeping Faith in some higher purpose is critical IMHO. I have raised and am raising my children to see through the bullshit and to steer with a moral compass not found in the mainstream. I fight the system and even do it from within once again, though I understand that resistance is futile. Resisting, however does pay dividends for it keeps us from becoming part of the problem and I do believe that we get extra credit for doing so as well. Besides, it’s fun pissing off the opposition.

    • Janos Skorenzy May 18, 2018 at 1:25 pm #

The so called media should have been broken up by Anti-Trust legislation decades ago. You can’t have an objective media, doing what it’s supposed to be doing, and offering a variety of editorial positions, if it’s virtually all owned by a few billionaires of the same ethnicity.

      • PeteAtomic May 18, 2018 at 1:32 pm #

“he so called media should have been broken up by Anti-Trust legislation decades ago.”

I totally agree with you there Janos.

        • Janos Skorenzy May 18, 2018 at 1:53 pm #

Why the there? Don’t diminish our connection. Do you think Brother Job and his group were racists for fleeing racial strife in the South and Mid Atlantic area? There is no Willoughby without White predominance.

  3. Pucker May 18, 2018 at 10:14 am #

If one lances the Dishonesty Boil in the US, there could be a geyser of pus? What would happen if you gave an honesty drug to Americans that forced them to be honest with themselves and others and to face Reality? Put it in the water supply like fluoride.

    • DrTomSchmidt May 18, 2018 at 11:54 am #

Would it require the government to be honest about fluoride?

Rackets everywhere is what we do.

      • draupnir May 18, 2018 at 12:49 pm #

I remember the public resistance to that. It didn’t take much research to discover that fluoride has a deleterious effect on free testosterone. Men today have lower testosterone levels than their fathers. Their fathers had lower levels of testosterone than their grandfathers. It appears to me that the government has been on a long range campaign to chemically castrate the male population. At least we have good teeth.

  4. JohnAZ May 18, 2018 at 10:18 am #

The discrediting of the institutions of the USA and the discrediting and removal of Trump is one and the same. The Populist movement, currently championed by the Trump crowd is the only bastion against the globalist forces trying to tear down the US Constitution. If the Dems win this Fall, you can start he countdown to the end of the USA as we know it, and the advent of the New World Order. Next target, Russia!

    • Walter B May 18, 2018 at 10:29 am #

Between the Boob Tube, the marketing wizards and programming by the public “education” system, so many of the population have become so addicted to a good time and happy endings that bad things down the road are instantly denied by the Sheeple. They simply cannot handle the Truth and prefer sugar coated lies and smiley faced deception. They refuse to wake up for if they did they would be driven insane. Perhaps it is best to let them remain asleep and in Dreamland.

As i peruse these [justified] laments I am polishing off a nice fresh-ground cappuccino in a small lesbian-run emporium in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

If you didn’t know any better you’d never think this little nation was torn apart by civil war and was also the recipient of a titanic invasion by Landslide Lyndon Johnson and his eager dupes.

Mercies, Audis, (Korean-built) Chevrolets strafe the strasse. Christian Dior and Burger king render improbable the specter of tyrannical Marxist dictatorship: these folks are dyed-in-the-wool CONSUMERS. It’s like I’m watching a replay of the late 1950s and it’s all courtesy of all the jobs being offshored to East Asia.

War & collapse is the farthest thing from their minds.

yep, great point and article there

it comes out to 43 percent out of a national total of 119 million households.

          • KentW May 18, 2018 at 11:30 pm #

Indeed. It started maybe in the 1970s when middle class incomes (including mine) went flat and never recovered. The collapse was already well under way in 2006-ish when global oil production peaked, and really reached full stride as Obama found it impractical to deliver any real Hope and Change, and instead ramped up the police state, increased warrantless surveillance, took our illegal wars to new heights, absolved and normalized the abuses of the torturers and bankers who now feed on our culture like maggots, helped the Clintons rig the primaries to shut out the possibility of a democratic election, and paved the way for the current shit show.

            Bingo (vertical, horizontal and diagonal).
“Rule of Law” being made a laughable concept was a much more dangerous move than TPTB had anticipated. It breeds contempt and the worst of alienation.

As an example, here’s our Constitution-free zone:

I could also say that great minds think alike but alas mine is only a wee bit over average. I sometimes make up what I lack by incorporating a great deal of heart.

Beware of terms like “sheeple.” You’re better than that, Walter. from not far from you in NJ we get:
        https://scholar.princeton.edu/sites/default/files/mgilens/files/gilens_and_page_2014_-testing_theories_of_american_politics.doc.pdf

“Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence. The results provide substantial support for theories of Economic-Elite Domination and for theories of Biased Pluralism, but not for theories of Majoritarian Electoral Democracy or Majoritarian Pluralism.”

It seems the “sheeple” have the most rational reaction, no?

        • Ol' Scratch May 18, 2018 at 12:53 pm #

Leave it to the academics to figure out something everyone with any sense knew in their guts already. Sheeple is a not necessarily derogative descriptive term, in that it amply describes the mindset of the US gen pop, whatever their particular mindsets (or lack thereof) in capitulating to their fate.

The “blame,” were it be truly assessed, would be more accurately assigned to those living at the turn of the 20th century or thereabouts, back when the leviathan we see now could still be resisted. But let us not talk harshly of those long dead and mostly forgotten now, for what good would it do us now anyway?

Credit where credit is due: this was the long game of our elite masters all along, realizing that theirs was a long term intergenerational con, and that the misdeeds of the fathers would only bear fruit for their sons and their sons, by which time the sheeple would have no one to accurately point the finger at regardless.

Good thing you used the sarcasm there PeteAtomic. While voting may still have some potential for making change, the reality is totally hopeless. Looking past the fact that the “choices” given are only bad and no decent humans are allowed to enter the mix anyway. Between the “Magic Line” (the line vote button for electing incumbents or whomever they want to stick there) poor voter turnout, and voter ignorance, well we are seriously screwed. I cannot count how many people I run into the day after an election, especially the Primaries, that when asked if they voted yesterday respond, “Was it yesterday”, or “Oh, no, I forgot”, or “I had to take a crap couldn’t get out”. I would love to berate them all for their serious lack of giving a shit, but I have to admit that they are all seriously over stressed, chronically overscheduled, and easily distracted. We might be a lot better off if we could manage to get decent caring leadership that could bypass the “election” process and get into office against the will of those who rule. It is a pipedream of course, nothing can be done to fix the rotted carcass. Bring in the buzzards.

        • Walter B May 18, 2018 at 3:15 pm #

Like Scratch says Doc Schmidt, I do not sling the term Sheeple as a derogatory insult, rather I utilize it underscore those with tendency to accept mistreatment by those who are “sworn” to serve them. Those who question nothing, who STUF and pay whatever price is imposed upon them. Those who say that they will be ok, but they feel sorry for their children and their grandchildren. Yes, I am constantly frustrated by those who just take it and by the lack of those that stand up and shout out that they are mad as hell and are not going to take it anymore. If this too much to ask?

        • KentW May 18, 2018 at 11:35 pm #

Yes, it’s too easy to blame the victims. Capitalism hates humanity and would have everyone believe that everything is the fault of those stupid useless human beings.

I, for one, don’t believe that people are stupid (nor do I believe that about sheep). Our problems are systemic, and are enforced/reinforced by a system of corporate capitalism that owns our government and doesn’t allow the voice of the people to be heard.

Seems to me JHK is (conveniently?) leaving out the fact that the “Deep State” did not leak anything on their Trump investigation—even the fact that there was one—before the election, as they did with Hillary. So whose side were they on, really? If they were trying to take out the orangutan, they were pretty inept!

    • JohnAZ May 18, 2018 at 10:47 am #

I think you are referring to Comey’s reopening of the Hillary case ten days before the election. That IS a great mystery! Maybe the tracking systems in the FBI were starting to discover the groundswell that led to Trump’s victory and this was just a case of CYA.

Maybe the reason no leaks occurred was that right up to the election, Hillary and her evil gang were considered such a shoe-in that the alternative was inconceivable. So why bother? Something happened ten days before the election that so thoroughly stirred the pot that everything that has happened since was initiated. I smell the New World Order.

  7. oilie May 18, 2018 at 10:39 am #

It is hard to believe that the Mueller probe has come up empty, but it is also hard to believe that it could have something significant that would not already have leaked. This leaves the most likely next move of Mueller to consist of forcing a constitutional crisis by attempting to indict Mr. GGG. That might well be the match that lights the fireworks signalling the collapse of this kabuki theatre faux economy.

But it might also be possible that an incorruptible IG and the Utah prosecutor might lance this boil and save constitutional government, at least long enough for the long emergency to have a more dignified beginning.

    • capt spaulding May 18, 2018 at 11:03 am #

Five people, including three Trump associates, have pleaded guilty to indictments by Mueller. Sounds like more are coming. It’ll be interesting to see what turns up. As rotten as Washington has become, there should be many more.

      • JohnAZ May 18, 2018 at 11:22 am #

The irony is that the Deep State initiated the Mueller investigation to stop the populism of Trump. Now, if Mueller allows the investigation to run out, the Deep State may have sowed the seeds of their own destruction. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer group of jerks.

Seems to me that there are a lot of distractions and counter distractions all intended to insure that we (the people) do not focus on what is really wrong and what the consequences of income and wealth inequality, fueled by a banking cartel pumping a worthless fiat currency into an already inflated economy, might ultimately be. The corporate owned 24/7 news coverage distorts, if not outright misrepresents, facts to keep us divided and bickering over petty nonsense so no working consensus and solution can emerge. This is how modern government in the social media age rules. It works (more or less) with foreign policy, even though at great cost, so why would it not work domestically. We are being indoctrinated to the idea that our rights and privileges (and social and economic well-being) come from the all-powerful government not the other way around.

    • Ol' Scratch May 18, 2018 at 11:07 am #

Showtime is running a pretty decent docuseries on the Trump machine, fittingly titled The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth. Although it focuses on Trump since he’s so unabashedly larger than life, it could just as easily be the story of the entire DC establishment in general. One can only imagine that this is what the Romans must have witnessed way back in the day, although the greatly amplified modern media megaphone certainly ramps up the decibels to ear-splitting levels in our case.

    • Walter B May 18, 2018 at 9:29 pm #

Right on brother Dumbedup, the Mega Wealthy may talk up a great deal on how much good they do for the underlings, but Trickle Down Economics are slavery for low wages. Sure Johnny Big Bucks who has 12 mega estates all around the country or the world may hire a sizeable number of lawn jockeys, servants and staff to keep his villas running, and they may even make a decent salary, though I doubt it. It is the 3,000 or 300,000 poorly paid workers in his business ventures that take the real hit (ala Amazon) and the tax cuts or NO taxes at all are a travesty of justice. Unfortunately for us, the pay to play system allows Johnny to buy himself enough political hacks to never have to worry about not making more cash then he can possibly spend in his lifetime. His spawn will take over once he is planted and if they do not destroy each other fighting over the pile he leaves behind the cycle will continue. Same as it ever was…..

      • GreenAlba May 19, 2018 at 7:28 am #

Re Amazon, Walter, there’s a distribution centre in Fife, across the Firth (estuary) of Forth from me, beside a motorway. It’s apparently the size of 14 football pitches. And, being beside a motorway, it’s obviously not near where anyone lives. And over here people who can’t afford cars mostly don’t have cars. The poor and poor-ish ones anyway – there are plenty of people in car-payment slavery over here, same as over your way – it just doesn’t go quite as far down the social scale here.

Over the Christmas period, when extra people were recruited, there were tents spotted in the woods around the Amazon base because it was too expensive for people to travel from their homes in the nearest town, fit in with shift times and live on minimum wage, so they slept in the woods – in December – to try to make it work. In 2017.

I’ve seen programmes on TV (which you’ve presumably also seen over your way) of the actual conditions inside these working hellholes. People charging around picking stuff from shelves, with a timer telling them at every moment how many seconds or minutes behind they are, with toilet visits timed and limited. And don’t even mention trying to fit in visits to your doctor if the stress of this is making you ill.

Imagine maybe a week of shifts of that, with not enough time in between to do anything realistic, interspersed with ‘sleeping’ in a tent – in December – because it’s not worth doing the shift if you get the bus home.

        • akmofo May 19, 2018 at 7:57 am #

It’s amazing that a huge corporation like Amazon won’t provide transport for its workers. These kind of businesses should not be allowed to exist. Instead of providing them with endless subsidies these corporations should be taxed out of existence. In fact, to end such monsters from existing I would tax all corporations with a gross worth of over 1000 persons average yearly income at a rate of 100% and higher. That will quickly end the satanic distortions in both the economy and in politics we now experience. Any government that does follow such principles will enjoy ZERO trade relations. “Economies of scale” are a predation on society. They completely destroy democratic equity and thus destroy all psychological/political equity in society. Fascism makes civic life and participation in civic life not worth living and it needs to end.

          • GreenAlba May 19, 2018 at 8:35 am #

I don’t know if they do ever provide any transport, akmofo (probably not), although I know that there is no worker as lowly and right-free as the casual one who’s signed up for the Christmas rush.

I think the problem is also the shift patterns, that are worked out to suit the company, not the individual, so if you’ve got a break of a couple of hours and two bus journeys to fit in it’s probably just not worth it to try to get home. Mostly these are people desperate enough to take any shifts at all that help pay for their own family’s Christmas. Or just the winter heating bills.

          • akmofo May 19, 2018 at 9:04 am #

..Any government that does ^not follow such principles will enjoy ZERO trade relations..

            ==

Businesses exist to serve society and not the other way around. Same with government. What we have today is an upside down world and it’s not so by accident. Any society that allows this nonsense to continue is not even worthy of contempt, it is already dead.

Thankfully our culture is changing and the new generation after they’re done burying CNN NYTimes and the other gov mafia propaganda outlets, will direct its attention on their sponsors, the big corporations, and the whole fascist organization of our society.

        • Walter B May 19, 2018 at 4:34 pm #

Yup, GA this corporate parasite is the worse one yet. I Have dealt with them occasionally in the past, but stopped once I saw the way they treat their people and how they do business. There was a spot somewhere that detailed how the employees have to clock out and then spend a half hour in line and get searched for theft. There are countless stories of abuse from these people all in the name of massive profits. Apparently some municipalities are taking them to task….

Trickle down equals debt slavery, dependence on the government but a large working (under educated and underpaid) class who will take any job under any conditions to survive. Thank you Ronald Reagan. (Bush was right – voodoo economics)

Traditionally, (way back – circa 1900) the Democratic Party stood for the principal that if you legislate to make average people prosperous that prosperity will find it’s way to everyone including the wealthy. Henry Ford believed that to be successful, a company must pay its employees enough to buy the products they build and sell. Modern corporatists believe that to be successful companies only need to borrow money (from the FRB at 1%) to buy back their own stock and gift their stock to politicians who will keep the scam going. Who cares if it results in inflation and an unsustainable life for the rest of us.

        My favorite quote:

“There are those who believe that if you will only legislate to make the well-to-do prosperous their prosperity will leak through on those below. The Democratic idea, however, has been that if you legislate to make the masses prosperous their prosperity will find its way up through every class which rests upon them.”

William Jennings Bryan (Cross of Gold speech, 1896)

  10. Ol' Scratch May 18, 2018 at 10:47 am #

The Times is little more than a deep state mouthpiece these days, so their headlines amount to so much hyperbole in support of its cause. But who knows, like poor Nixon before him, Trump might get railroaded out of office yet, although it seems to me they’ve got him right where they want him already: in power, but largely hamstrung and ineffectual, other than his enforced willingness to do the MICC’s bidding regarding foreign policy. The show will go on either way, so no one should be under the illusion that the status quo will be upset in the least, Trump or no Trump.

Our nation, our constitution is what is in the crosshairs. The globablists care not one whit about who is apparently at the helm. The method is chaos and divide and conquer all free people. To believe that the object is, for what we consider, our nation to be leader of the new order is dangerous for those who have faith in our constitution. Orwell’s view of the future must always be at the front of our minds and our face benenath the boot.

As long as voters continue to think in terms of D vs R, power will remain in the hands of those globalists. We HAVE to start viewing policies, politicians and elections in terms of the 90% vs the .1%. Only then is there a chance of getting power back in the hands of the people.

When the Russia meme has stops selling papers you can be sure a replacement will be vetted.  The likely

Order of events may vary. Note to Yellow Peril Gang: Behave or we’ll do a Goldfinger on you.

PRO TIP for Norteamericanos: Do not keep nagging the patriotic guardians at Fort Knox any longer for an inventory of Uncle’s stash. They are busy with their “duties” and cannot be bothered. Permanently.

(Most spectacularly the Germans apparently got their own bullion back. Amazing. Though the bars had been suspiciously melted down and cast again so the Herrenbank had to melt them once more to check for purity.) Two things seem fairly obvious at this point.

#1: The Russia collusion rumor is a ploy by the Democratic Party/Hillary Clinton to take attention off her losing, and maybe even more so to distract from the rigging of the primary.

#2: All wars of late are the result of countries wanting to get off the petrodollar.

Absolutely. I have been saying for quite a while that it IS bigger than Watergate. And the Times lost all credibility during the Iraq War with Judith Miller.

You can take “full faith and credit” in its narrowest sense, that is, the meaning ascribed by the Constitution, or you can look at the notion more broadly. Do you give “full faith and credit” to American government in general?

It’s abundantly obvious except to the deliberately blind that American elites aren’t giving one bit of consideration to how their attempts to un-seat Trump affects the American cultural and political landscape. The same goes for the treatment afforded Hillary over her handling of State Department communications and her bleach-bitting of thousands of emails, just to take two examples in the constellation of Clinton-esque mis-deeds. Did the Big Thinkers never consider how their acts erode the full faith and credit given to the public acts and judicial proceedings of American government? Does the US government, in the face of unabashed corruption and law-breaking in their attempts to fix the 2016 election, remotely deserve any kind of faith and credit?

It’s not just institutional behavior with respect to the latest election that overturns any kind of faith and credit, it’s the absurdly disproportionate weight given by the American executive and legislatures and judiciary to the interests of a handful of people over the interests of the vast majority.

When the American government deliberately works against you, are you going to be so daft as to take up arms in its defense? The Big Thinkers in charge of things, that think that they’re so damn smart, never seem to think things through, not ever, not even in their most essential, most basic aspects. These people that consider themselves so enlightened, so lettered, so cultured, never look back on history to look for commonalities in human and societal behavior. Yeah, sure, it’s different this time. It always is. But, as my late father used to say, it’s always the ending that’s the same.

I have visions of the next president of the Democratic persuasion being hounded by the Republicans in a similar fashion and I get a malicious little frisson at the very thought. I know this is unlikely, as many of Republicans appear to stand with the Democrats where GGG is concerned, which tells you which side their bread is buttered on, but the very thought of the great machinery of government in vapor lock is at least entertaining.

    • PeteAtomic May 18, 2018 at 1:26 pm #

      yeah, possibly.

Or maybe both majorities of the 2 major parties (many M’s there lol), will essentially agree on the same executive, post-Trump.

I’m guessing a real swamp monster: some institutionalized inside politician who speaks like he(or she) is reading off a script, very polished and from the ‘right’ family, boring personality but carries a perma-grin, complete neo-con globalist.

So, pretty much a return to the pre-Trump regime of many decades.

“Rumors are flying …” Yes rumors do fly, just like the troubled paranoid mind. Deep State, Globalists, New World Order, all troubling images for the lazy and or inept.

What does the real evidence show us?

Our Senate just confirmed the nomination of Gina Haspel to head the CIA. A perpetrator one of the most disgraceful and damaging chapters of our executive branch of government which our collective esteem may never recover.
But the tortured were Muslims, the tribe we’re supposed to hate. Right? Feelings, so many feelings…

Our Dear Leader has a “fixer” that set up a shell company ( a technique commonly used in criminal money laundering) which received large sums of money, of which half a million was from a Russian Oligarch. No wanderings about the quid pro quo there? And the Donald “forgot” to enter the payouts from and payments to this slush-fund in his financial statements. Very forgetful family there.

I agree the NYT is a disgraceful rag but more for their role in selling us the war in Iraq than any ramblings about The Orange-ball in Chief.

It’s up to we ourselves out in the provinces to start deciding our own fates.

We have a domestic security apparatus Stalin or Saddam could have never dreamed of.

So, when do the 22 agencies under the Department of Homeland Security and ATF/DEA under the Dept. of Justice, start to directly oversee the school system to stop mass attacks?

I don’t see that as such a wild step.

Are you doubting the popular wisdom? Just a couple of days ago an Officer tackled a shooter before he could do anything I believe. And there have been a few others lately where the perp was shot before causing too much damage. Obviously, when the system works in a way the Elite don’t want it too, they give it little coverage. This how “reality” is created: emphasis, deemphasis, and complete ignoring. And from “reality” you get manufactured consent – the engine that drives “democracy” or rule by the mob.

Or are you saying there should have been a good guy with a gun? In which case, I concur.

Do be careful not to piddle on the floor again any time soon; he might snatch you up by the collar and chain you in the kennel for a bit.

Trump got elected because he was on television. Every Sunday night in the 2000’s, on NBC TV, he played the part of a tough NYC wise businessman, who presided over a fake contest and fired people. Like a standup comedian, who dares to verbalize what most middle-class, polite audiencies would not utter, Trump verbalized what traditional politicians (Republican and Democrat) would not dare utter. He told an angry, American public trying to hang on what they wanted to hear. The fact that he ran against one of the most reviled, idealess, nominees ever with an on-going scandal of her own. did not hurt. In addition, angry Bernie supporters stayed home because of the DNC’s corruption in purposely tubing his campaign.
Ever since the JFK – Nixon debates, where the sweaty-faced Nixon paled in comparison to JFK’s charisma, television has been the biggest factor in electing most presidents with Reagan, Clinton, W, Obama and now Trump.
As the character FBI Agent Dick Goodwin (Rob Morrow) said in the movie Quiz Show: “I thought we were gonna get television, but the truth is….television is going to get us.”

There’s a lot of Deep State election meddlers that by rights SHOULD end up wreathed in criminal charges. But in my view they won’t be by way of the new, innovative exculpatory excuse cooked up by Comey in his “investigation” of Hillary’s email adventures: no criminal intent.

This flexible and highly useful legal device can be used no matter the depth of incriminating evidence to the contrary. I mean, how is it possible that someone face serious charges if there was no criminal intent? How is it possible that people with a long history in government, with long experience in law enforcement, that are university educated, that are trained attorneys, that have got platoons of staff and advisors at their beck and call, could possibly be expected to be conversant with the ins and outs of the law, with what is permissible and what isn’t. How can you possibly expect them to exercise good judgment and caution in the exercise of their duties? I mean, consider the rush of daily events, the pressures and exigencies of office, the many shades and shadows of grey. Sometimes there’s no choice but to cut corners, sometimes you forget where you put the paperwork, sometimes you have to back date the forms.

And besides, there is such a thing as prosecutorial discretion. I mean, justice shouldn’t be blind to the extent that it’s blind to the greater national interest. Should it? I mean, if you hound people, if you make life hell for them, if you expect too much, you won’t end up with the best and brightest in the public service. Will you?

They were out all out there in Texas this morning. Out there with the same old vaporous platitudes. The governor. The lieutenant governor. Ted Cruz. Sheriffs.

Greg Abbott, the Governor, said that his heart was heavy. Mine was too, after that pepperoni pizza last night. He said that this was unacceptable. Oh really. I thought that it was becoming as acceptable as morning coffee.

Cruz, and others, said that all our prayers will lift the parents and the rest of us heavenward, and that united we will all get through this. So let’s stockpile those prayers and pray, pray I say, that we never need them again.

Abbott said that he will meet with all the “stake holders”, yes, stake holders, to help solve the problem. As if it were vampires sucking out the blood of our children. Stake holders.

Well, I still don’t feel too well. That pill of platitudes doesn’t seem to be working anymore. If it ever really did.

Last Sunday, when the Media has not received yet new instructions from Hillary after the announcement of Trump Messiah and, as a result of the attack of the Jewish media on the old man Mueller, the transition of a strategic initiative in the World Wide Civil War to Trump, all three political programs focused on Trump’s upcoming talks with Kim Jong-Un, and the subject of fierce debate was security guarantees to the North Korean leader, which Mike Pompeo considers necessary for the success of the negotiations, and the supporters of the Black Project proclaim as unacceptable betrayal of the “holy” cause of the world democracy/shitocracy:

Does it mean that Kim Jong-un with the help of nuclear missiles has achieved from the US the refusal to spread democracy by overthrowing “dictatorial regimes”?

Why then was it necessary to abandon the Yalta agreements and start the Cold War 1.0, which almost three times nearly led to the destruction of the United States – in 1953, 1961 and 1979.

And now how to talk with Putin after this?

The last question by the way received a continuation the day before yesterday in the article “Who lost Russia?” – this is not an academic question for Bloomberg, which is one of the Jewish publications that has sharply changed its orientation toward neutral and even objective after the announcement of Trump the Messiah and the transfer of the American Embassy to Jerusalem.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2018-05-15/-who-lost-russia-is-more-than-just-an-academic-question?cmpId=yhoo.headline&yptr=yahoo

And this dispute takes place between Professor of Princeton and NYU Stephen Cohen and Michael McFaul, a former US ambassador to Moscow who always complains that Putin’s “Bloody regime” has slandered him by announcing that President Obama sent him to Moscow to arrange a color revolution and topple the “Bloody regime”.

And Stephen Cohen sets out a point of view very similar to one I maintain (except for the theory of Colored Projects, of course), including stating that in the existing situation, Russia and the United States should be allies, and Michael McFaul says that it is not necessary to give Putin and Russia any guarantees ala Yalta agreements, and it is necessary to push, push, and push as long as Russia will not disintegrate under the pressure of Clinton’s “overload”, and it is necessary to forget about Obama’s “reset” as it does not correspond to the objective course of history.

Well, they repeated one to one the arguments of the followers of President Trump’s National Security adviser Bolton against the newly appointed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who before that, together with General Dunford more or less successfully purged the CIA from the Clintonoids.

By the way, yesterday Trump disowned Bolton, saying that he was ready to give guarantees to Kim Jong-un.

    http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-trump-korea-20180517-story.html

And Michael McFaul, complaining of slander, is telling the truth, since it was not Obama, but Hillary Clinton, who sent him to Moscow with the task of arranging a “color revolution”, that actually forced Putin and Obama establish an alternative information exchange channel called “Little Girl Albina”

    http://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/potemkin-party/#comment-244241

A familiar style of semantics, is not it? Well, the dispute between McFaul and Cohen ended with the victory of McFaul, who said that the arguments of Cohen, according to which Moscow and Washington should be allies, can not be digested by any patriotic politician in Moscow, and we should thank not only German Federal Intelligence Service (BND) for this, but also the Solovyov’s show on Channel 1 of Russian TV.

Just a reminder that, unlike World War Four, the Cold War 2.0 has not yet begun, despite the fact that the World War Three and the Cold War 1.0 began simultaneously.

And if the Cold War 2.0 starts, then most likely it will very quickly heat up to thermonuclear temperatures and lead to the complete destruction of the United States and the greater part of mankind, including Russia, where, if someone survives, only due to the size of the territory and advantageous geographical position.

And if the Cold War 2.0 will miraculously stay cold, then for Russia defeating the US will mean the collapse of financial system based on the American dollar, in which case the beneficiary of the collapse of the dollar and its heir will be either Euro or the British pound, and the Ruble and the Yuan will suffer greatly in connection with the loss of Russia’s and China’s dollar reserves.

Tabibi about Herman about Manufactured Consent:

“Herman’s work was difficult for many to understand because the nature of the American media, then and now, seemed at best to be at an arm’s length from, say, the CIA or the State Department. Here is how the book put it:

“It is much more difficult to see a propaganda system at work where the media are private and formal censorship is absent.”

The basic thesis of Manufacturing Consent was that propaganda in America is generated through a few key idiosyncrasies of our (mostly private) system.

One is that getting the whole population to buy in to a narrative requires the sustained attention of the greater part of the commercial media, for at least a news cycle or two.

We don’t censor the truth in America, mostly. What we do instead is ignore it. If a lone reporter wants to keep banging a drum about something taboo, like contracting corruption in the military, or atrocities abroad, he or she will a) tend not advance in the business, and b) not be picked up by other media.

Therefore the only stories that tended to reach mass audiences were ones in which the basic gist was agreed upon by the editors and news directors of all or most of the major media companies.

In virtually all cases this little mini-oligarchy of media overlords kept the news closely in sync with the official pronouncements of the U.S. government.

The appearance of dissent was permitted in op-ed pages, where Democrats and Republicans “debated” things. But what readers encountered in these places was a highly ritualized, artificially narrow form of argument kept strictly within a range of acceptable opinions.”

      Chomsky & Herman:

The mass media serve as a system for communicating messages and symbols to the general populace. It is their function to amuse, entertain, and inform, and to inculcate individuals with the values, beliefs, and codes of behavior that will integrate them into the institutional structures of the larger society. In a world of concentrated wealth and major conflicts of class interest, to fulfill this role requires systematic propaganda.

In countries where the levers of power are in the hands of a state bureaucracy, the monopolistic control over the media, often supplemented by official censorship, makes it clear that the media serve the ends of a dominant elite. It is much more difficult to see a propaganda system at work where the media are private and formal censorship is absent. This is especially true where the media actively compete, periodically attack and expose corporate and governmental malfeasance, and aggressively portray themselves as spokesmen for free speech and the general community interest. What is not evident (and remains undiscussed in the media) is the limited nature of such critiques, as well as the huge inequality in command of resources, and its effect both on access to a private media system and on its behavior and performance.

The elite domination of the media and marginalization of dissidents that results from the operation of these filters occurs so naturally that media news people, frequently operating with complete integrity and goodwill, are able to convince themselves that they choose and interpret the news “objectively” and on the basis of professional news values.

The banality of corruption. Comey, Brennan, the talking heads, the editorial boards:

they believe they are good people doing bad things to bad people. Bad people like Trump.
      The dehumanized.
      The lesser-than.
      The evil.

That makes them good, very good

      • FincaInTheMountains May 18, 2018 at 6:40 pm #

I must say that network management methods of society consist in the fact that in the USA there are media articles for “public”, “elite = new cattle” and “super elite = journalists”.

The fact is that the old cattle (deplorables) stopped believing the media and now reads conspiracy, in general, advising them to nail the old elite, or rather its part, and the old elite (before the Trump revolution) became a new cattle, that is the object of manipulating by the media, and manipulators (journalists) have become a new elite.

And the funny thing about the situation is that the worse the results for this new elite (part of the new cattle = the old elite goes to Trump’s side or finally flies off their coils) the more elite and powerful they (journalists) become.

      • Sean Coleman May 19, 2018 at 5:34 pm #

I think it is more or less the same over here too. Peter Hitchens does not believe in wild conspiracy theories but readily accepts that conspiracies exist. He calls them ‘lunch’ where senior newspaper political correspondents treat senior politicians in return for insider stories and gossip. If all the other papers are leading with a particular story yours will have to follow.

However, consent does not need to be manufactured in my opinion (although every little helps). Media, politicians and whatever elites there are already agree in the main, no matter how scant the evidence. If you could have locked one of them into a sound-proofed, lead-lined basement at a time when nobody had yet even heard of Donald Trump, without access to outside news, and if he were released yesterday, my hunch is he would still come out hating him. It is in the air.

If American “news” organizations actually hired reporters to investigate and to report honestly the news, then given the plethora of fraud and dishonesty and all of the Clusterfuck problems in the context of hyper complexity, resource depletion, declining profits, and population overshoot, then wouldn’t there be a tidal wave deluge of horrible news?

“hired reporters to investigate and to report honestly the news…”

One of my favourite all-time on-line articles is this one by Richard Webster (this is Part 1. Part 2 is linked on the top left-hand side):

        http://www.richardwebster.net/jersey1.htm

Guardian journalist Nick Davies had written a best-seller, Flat Earth News, about malpractice in reporting the news. Davies writes in that book,

“If the primary purpose of journalism is to tell the truth, then it follows that the primary function of journalists must be to check and reject whatever is not true.”

        However, Davies also says,

“I’ve been a journalist for more than thirty years. In the year that I left university, 1974, Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward from the Washington Post forced US President Richard Nixon to resign. What an idea! That two reporters – armed with nothing more than their pens and their notebooks – could bring down the most powerful man in the world, because he was corrupt.

“I became wholly addicted to the idea of becoming a reporter – I would travel the globe, I would take a front-row seat on history unfolding and, most of all, I would change the world. I took a job as a messenger boy at the Guardian, bought a second-hand Remington typewriter. . .”

        To which Webster says this:

“In this account of what drove him to become a journalist what figures most prominently is not the desire to report accurately; it is the ideal of crusading against corruption, of pitting oneself against some of the most powerful people in the world and winning, and of signalling one’s own power by transforming the world rather than simply describing it. What is striking about the account of journalism he goes on to give in the body of his book is that none of these motives, which beat in the heart of so many journalists, are explored in any detail – or in some cases at all. Instead, as has already been noted, Davies stresses that the purpose of journalism is simple; it is to tell the truth.”

Webster’s article (he died a few years ago) also contains this sentence (or rather part of sentence) which is one of the most memorable (half) sentences I have ever read:

“Having long ago come to the conclusion that we live within a collective fantasy, or a set of collective delusions, and that the news media are one of the principal means by which we maintain this fantasy-version of reality…”

They’re going to make another History movie. This time about Ulysses S. Grant. I cringe at the thought of History eviscerated and raped yet again by Hollywood. I wonder if they’ll include the fact that before the US Civil War that Grant owned a black Slave named William Jones? They might also expunge the fact that Grant was passed out drunk and without a battle plan going into the Battle of Shiloh and General Buell saved his ass. There was also that thing about the forced annexation of the South and Sherman’s war crimes.

Studios make movies to sell tickets, not necessarily to educate the audience. Truth in movies is just about as scarce as truth in Washington DC.

  37. Janos Skorenzy May 18, 2018 at 5:53 pm #

You are misinformed. Black Bill Jones was actually the brains behind the Union Victory. Grant was little more than his talking dummy. Kind of like the relationship between Dick Cheney and George Bush. Remember, all White science and technology was stolen from Africa. That why they don’t have none no more. The Whites too it.

From the movie trailer, it looks like Spike Lee in his new movie depicts the black police officer as the brains behind the Jewish bloke who infiltrates the KKK with the Jewish policeman as the black policeman’s flunky.

I’ve never seen a Jewish bloke be anyone’s flunky.

    == Marcus

I do not know much about her, but I think that’s more than you do, Marcus. For example, do you know that she was an undercover CIA agent for 7 years in the USSR and Russia and all sorts of rumors go about her, including good ones?

And she tortured Islamists in the circumstances that I probably would not resist either.

But again, these are all rumors. It all depends on who appointed her – Trump or the Deep State.

It is a real war, not the pretend wrestling match. And this is not rumors, it’s a fact.

As of now, the current count is 8 to 10 dead, mostly students. In my world, when a bunch of kids get murdered, that’s newsworthy. == Elrond Hubbard

Yes, Elrond, the key word is newsworthy – the Clinton Media got a necessary change of subject and respite for the weekend from the newly found Trump’s offensive, time to brainstorm, develop new strategy, regroup.

They are too, truly sorry for the kids, tragic but necessary sacrifice for the cause.

Above the fold in this morning’s NYT is an article about how the mid-terms are about Trump’s impeachment. That’s as likely to happen as Hillary getting indicted, but they’re going to do everything in their power to make it look as a definite possibility. The clock is ticking for what was once the paper of record.
Brennan, Clapper, et al, are not, as W once put it, “The Deciders” or they would not be thrown under the bus. They are merely protecting their turf, TV talking heads. The major decision on who gets to occupy the White House is made by more reasoned intelligences.
Horowitz has come out with his report and accuses the FBI, the DOJ of breaking the law in the Clinton investigation, or lack thereof. It is even possible that the matter could be reinvestigated with immunity grants rescinded. A fall guy is in order and McCabe is not consequential enough to fill those shoes.
Who becomes America’s sacrificial offering to the gods this time? Nixon was a good victim. He knew to leave the scene when his time was up and was in the end partially rehabilitated. Bill Clinton lacked Nixon’s dignity and he is to this day seen as a fraud, sleazy, a violator. Trump is supported by a higher power than is obvious to the DC cabal, the MSM, and he is indomitable. He will not easily be thrown into the volcano.
What’s more, no one cares to look at the reason why the man was elected, the Problem In America!

Meghan Markle went on a couple of dates with Harry before she quietly began to tell her friends that she thought “she had found her guy.”! I mean if he was in anyway a dick she would have dropped him like a stone. She has high standards you see.

They are presenting her as if she is a debutante in her early 20’s and not a divorcee in her mid 30’s. But what’s in it for Harry? She must be a tigress in the old sackaroo.

Janos, your obsession with this wedding is strange. I presume it’s all over the place this morning but I haven’t even switched the TV on, although I’ve seen a couple of photos on the BBC website and they both look fine and happy.

This morning when I walked the dog, what I mostly saw was groups of young men carrying pizza boxes and large amounts of beer because they’re about to settle in for the English Cup Final (Man. Utd v. Chelsea, since you ask) and/or the Scottish Cup Final. That’s a more normal male interest over here.

I haven’t seen MM presented as a debutante anywhere, let alone as a deb in her 20s. Everyone knows her age and nobody with two brain cells cares. Your obsessions are your obsessions.

Harry’s presumed dad turned down a real married life with a beautiful young woman many years younger than him for a real relationship with a woman a year older than him whom no-one thinks is anything other than ordinary looking.

But the thing is that the two of them seem to have a real and lasting deep connection and love one another. The fact that they both cheated on their spouses is another matter entirely, but it remains that not everyone is obsessed with age or even beauty. Get over it.

Janos, they’re right, it’s not important. The British monarchy devolved into a travesty of dinner theater long before MM came onto the scene. We should focus on other matters more important, like this critique of a speech given by Jordan Peterson:

Excerpts from an article by John Press in American Renaissance May 18, 2018

            Jordan Peterson and White Pride

“Jordan Peterson… shot to fame because he took a stand against newfangled ‘gender’ pronouns… [he] made a name for himself simply by making common-sense observations of the kind that have become taboo. He does a great deal of good, hacking away at egalitarian foolishness, and his audience is very much the sort of people who have the potential to become race realists.

“However, Dr. Peterson has explicitly denounced white consciousness. At a recent talk at Lafayette College, a member of the audience asked what he thought about taking pride in European ethnic identity. He replied, in part, ‘The West has got some things right, we got the sovereignty of the individual right,’ and he noted that this has resulted in worldwide wealth. But, he continued, ‘Am I proud of that? It’s like, I didn’t do that. What the hell? Pride! What’s that? That’s not the right response.’

“‘Pride! What’s that?’ It is odd that Dr. Peterson should ask. In the first chapter of 12 Rules For Life, he explains that pride helps lobsters and birds guard their territory and determines which survive disease and reproduce. He also notes that self-respect helps people resist oppression. Therefore, according to his own logic, European pride is vital to the West’s survival.

“In his lecture, Dr. Peterson said that Western civilization is a ‘new miracle on the world stage,’ and that European cities are ‘unbelievable masterpieces.’ He then talked about global tourists visiting these cities, implying that the cities belong to everyone, just as Western civilization does.

“Dr. Peterson cautioned, however, that we have no right to take pride in European cities just because you ‘happen to have the same skin color as some of the people,’ who built them. Of course, race is not just a matter of skin color. Dr. Peterson even briefly acknowledged group differences in IQ—but said he is ‘hesitant’ about discussing implications… Needless to say, they have enormous consequences, and low-IQ groups could not possibly have built our civilization…

“Dr. Peterson continued: ‘It’s not even so clear to what extent [Western civilization is] European. I mean, it came out of the Middle East, you know?’ Even if this absurd statement were true and something essential to our civilization came out of the Middle East, Europeans built our civilization, not Middle-Easterners…

“Dr. Peterson concluded on [the] smug note [that he had] ‘dispensed with the radical right wingers in four minutes,’ adding that any racial argument is ‘so muddleheaded that you hardly know where to start.’ Instead, it is his confusion about the nature of race, Middle Eastern and European culture, and his insistence that pride must be strictly individual that are muddled.

“The European genome, with its effects on IQ and temperament, was necessary for the creation of our culture. As Sam Francis explained in a 1994 speech, ‘The civilization that we as whites created in Europe and America could not have developed apart from the genetic endowments of the creating people, nor is there any reason to believe that the civilization can be successfully transmitted to a different people.’ So, in a real sense, there is a ‘we’ that created it, and there is a difference between simply being proud to be white and being proud of the civilization whites created.

“Rather than take pride in Western civilization, Dr. Peterson says we have to ‘get our act together’ and take ‘responsibility’ for it. In his book, he says pride and caring for oneself are first steps toward improving oneself. To discount pride in our race and heritage undermines any attempt to redeem the West.

Well obviously the Stuarts need to be reinstated. These people are hopeless. But as a marker of a new low for Britain, today was significant.

      • Janos Skorenzy May 19, 2018 at 1:42 pm #

You seem unable or unwilling to see the deeper implications of this. This is the end of the Shaolin Order, the mark by which future historians will mark the fall of Britain. Marriage, especially at that level, has little to do with two people “loving” each other. It’s all about progeny and securing a future for the realm by keeping faith with the past and/or tying different great houses and factions to the ruling order. But you prefer the sentimental pov – a typical woman.

And she has been presented as a debutante, at least over here. What does her ex-husband, a Jew btw, think about this? Perhaps you’re just miffed that you didn’t get a ticket to the festivities.

Are you back from your cross-country motorcycle adventures? – SJ

            ============

            Hi Jen.

No, thus far I’ve made just one significant road trip: 575 miles over 5 days with my son-in-law. He has a 1981 Honda CSX 500 that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. I, as mentioned awhile back, have a used Suzuki Burgman 650 with next to no miles on it.

We set out on May 1st from my home in Central NJ and took up residence at day’s end in a cheap motel, a perfectly adequate Red Roof Inn in the vicinity of Cape May, after 140 miles. We passed through the famous NJ “Pine Lands.”

We were committed to not ride our bikes after dark and not under the influence of alcohol so we “ubered” to a nice Cape May restaurant where we scarfed down an obscene quantity of crabs and shrimp.

On day 2 we rode a short distance to the terminal facilities of the Cape May – Lewes (Delaware) Ferry. The crossing takes 85 minutes. Upon debarking on the Delaware side we rode 35 miles to our motel in Ocean City, MD (a really nice summer resort destination.) Our purpose was to observe and participate in a bike rally called “Bikes to the Beach.” After two days in OC, MD we left for Havre de Grace, MD (140 miles) where my son lives with his family including my only grandchildren, boys age 6 and 5. The next morning we left early headed back to Central NJ.

I have some big trips planned beginning shortly after Memorial Day where I will be riding alone. They involve New Haven, CT, Wells, ME, Westmeath, Canada and Duluth, MN. Weather is a major consideration so my trip to Westmeath and Duluth will probably happen between mid-July and mid-August.

I hope to have some interesting tales to tell.

Oh, Janos. You really are showing your desperation. I’m disappointed. Someone on here was lauding your intellect earlier and here you are resorting to complete dipstickery and what one might call, for the lack of an alternative, the ‘ad feminem’. That’s my coinage for when someone doesn’t have an actual argument, so they scrape the bottom of the barrel with ‘but you prefer the sentimental pov – a typical woman’.

Now, you may remember that I had to point out to you on the last thread that you didn’t like the fact that I argue rationally. So when I gave you an entirely rational argument, you responded with some nonsense like ‘maybe you have no feelings’. You just can’t make up your mind, can you? Well, that’s not really the case, is it? You’re just, like I said, desperate.

I feel for your lack of insight and your lack of consistency, Janos. I don’t blame it on you being a man, though, because I’m neither that desperate nor that lacking in insight. Nor am I sexist.

Let’s look at your pointless points in more detail…

“What does her ex-husband, a Jew btw, think about this?”

You are right to add ‘btw’ here, because more ‘by the way’ a bit of information really could not be. If you have a reason for thinking this bit of cultural information is relevant to anything at all, though, do feel free to share it with us and we’ll see if we can upgrade it from ‘by the way’ to right up there on the main interstate.

“And she has been presented as a debutante, at least over here.”

And now you want to claim dispensation for the idiocy of your own ‘news’ sources. Sorry, Janos, your problem. She hasn’t been presented as any such thing over here. Maybe we’re more mature – or more intelligent – I’ll leave that one with you.

“Perhaps you’re just miffed that you didn’t get a ticket to the festivities.”

Yeah, right. The argument of a ten-year-old. I’m the one who just got on with my life today, while you excited royalty fans got stuck into your fairy tale. I can’t comment on the preacher, because I haven’t a clue what you’re all talking about, given that you’re far more interested in this soap opera than I am and I didn’t see him.

“Marriage, especially at that level, has little to do with two people “loving” each other. It’s all about progeny and securing a future for the realm by keeping faith with the past and/or tying different great houses and factions to the ruling order.”

Janos, here’s the current order of succession:

          Charles
          William
          George
          Charlotte
Louis (had to look him up – forgot his name)

So, unless the above five people all get the dreaded lurgi, there’s zero chance of Harry being in any way involved in the competition for the throne or any subsequent line of succession. I don’t get why you don’t get this.

And, as I’ve pointed out before, there’s a fair chance that Harry isn’t even a Windsor, by actual bloodline, so there’s an equally fair chance that the whole question is pixieb*ll*cks in the first place.

Overall, Janos, one of your poorer efforts.

          • Janos Skorenzy May 19, 2018 at 11:59 pm #

More intelligent? You’re the ones with hundreds of thousands of girls who have been pimped out by the Muslims – and then you DENY it!

Better press? Britain is famous for its yellow journalists. Argue it with Harry who saw them hound his mother unto her doom.

You are rational – about little things for the most part. About big things you have a lot of idealistic emotion which leads you to heights of irrationality. In any case, there is more in Heaven and Earth than is in your philosophy, Horatia. To be merely rational is to miss much, those things beneath rationality and those things above it. Thus to be merely rational, to depend only on reason, is to be irrational.

I trust you with grammar. And I would trust you to shop for me with a view to a budget (I would not trust my sister). But trust you with the Destiny of my Race, Culture, and Nation – or your Nation? Never.

          • GreenAlba May 20, 2018 at 8:22 am #

            Janos

“You’re the ones with hundreds of thousands of girls who have been pimped out by the Muslims – and then you DENY it!

Hundreds of thousands? Yes, I think I would definitely deny that. People with truth on their side have no need of ridiculous hyperbole. But even the numbers of vulnerable girls affected have been too many, as with all the other instances of abuse of young people by their ordinary white fellow citizens.

The gutter press here is dreadful – I don’t read it. You clearly read yours, from the nonsense about ‘debutantes’.

I’m not ‘merely rational’, Janos. I pointed out in a very recent post that there is a place for both reason and emotion in a balanced person. I have no need to give gratuitous offence by suggesting such a lack of balance is your problem either. Although you do have a problem, recognised in psychology as the idée fixe. which is hard to deal with.

And the Stuarts, by the way, are generally regarded as a bit of a disaster by historians. Well, more than a bit.

“And I would trust you to shop for me…”

I think you’ll be doing your own shopping for a while, Janos, unless you tone down your idée fixe a (significant) bit. Though if you find true love you may continue to do it – my husband does most of our food shopping because he enjoys cooking – you may find your love wishes to express itself in the same romantic way in due course 🙂 . Never assume.

“But trust you with the Destiny of my Race, Culture, and Nation – or your Nation? Never.”

I don’t trust people who witter on about destiny. Even less if they call it Destiny. We’ve been there before, in relatively recent memory, and it didn’t end well.

And now, Janos, since the marriage in question is, thankfully, over and done with, I hope you will consider the matter closed and not bring it up again as a distraction from issues in which people rightly have far more interest.

How in the world do people take this fluff seriously? A family that has no constitutional rights in a parliamentary democracy. They pretty much gave up their rights to keep their heads. A monarch who has her speeches written for her.

And Janos is worried about who their slightly substandard, inbred genes get mixed up with.

The present tense used in ‘discrediting of the USA’ ought to be the past tense ‘discredited’. It seems to me the world is enjoying the melodrama; the anti-climatic camp that is the stuff of the Grand Buffoon. Your institutions are not hallowed but rather a hollow house of cards. The money mafia administering the private banking cartel called the Federal Reserve in point of fact actually serves the Bank of International Settlements in Switzerland. So much for the land of the free.

The States United are covered in a meadow muffin resembling Jabba the Hut. Putrid waters runoff to your domiciles infecting your very soul. Nothing grows in the wasteland, no trees – nothing, only pernicious weeds. This obstruction in the landscape is an eyesore nobody wants; verified by ordinary people when open-sourced. An obelisk is placed for you, courtesy of the mall, the phallicism to complete the rape of America.

Surprisingly, North Korea became the main brake and cooler of the Cold War 2.0, as it became a model for answering questions posed by the current situation in Russian-American relations.

For example, very many hurray-patriots in Russia, de facto Hillary’s useful idiots, argue that Russia will never come to agreement with the US, as it is the only country that could destroy the US.

So, according to the conspiracy theories, very reminiscent of truthful discharge of the relevant special services, North Korea, correctly judging that, in the eventuality, it will not have time to take advantage of the fruits of its labor, has begun open tests of its nuclear missile technology only after it acquired 60 missiles, capable of delivering one or more warheads to any city with over a million population in the United States. And if this is true, then in the case of the war with North Korea, the US losses can exceed the losses of North Korea, where there simply is not that much population.

And the dollar, too, will obviously not survive such losses. So on this issue, Russia is clearly not the only one who can cause unacceptable damage to the US, and if the US wants the answer to their burning question, then first let them practice answering it where they do not get a response under the full program.

Again, if they do not believe that Putin has a finger to press the button, which Hillary Clinton presented to Lavrov in 2009, it’s not very clear how they are going to clarify their doubts? Experimentally? So North Korea is much less dangerous site for such experiments. And even a purely theoretical test of this, which Trump seems to prefer to experimental verification, is a model for preempting Cold War 2.0 with Russia.

And Trump for obvious reasons calls this war an arms race, leaving open the question of how to determine the leader of this race.

Wow. It’s official. JHK has now gone full Glenn Beck on us, complete with charts and white board diagrams proving how a conspiracy between the Queen, Colin Kapernick, and the Rothschild clan are manipulating our minds to brainwash us into thinking that Russia is actually hostile and cyber-manipulative, and that the Trump family is a thuggish crime consortium.

Which of course they are, and they are … even the atavistic Republican Party admits the Russian cybersppoks poked around in the voter registration rolls of some 20 states prior to our last election, and no doubt will strive to out-do that accomplishment in 2018 and 2020. The Trump Family Crime Syndicate don’t care, because thst can only work to their advantage. Meanwhile their thugs are out and about threatening Stormy, raiding the offices of Trump’s former personal “physician”, and trash-talking any media outlet that dares to actually do their honest job call a lie a lie. We’re in the “post-truth” era now, dontcha know. “Fake news” is any news that doesn’t promote your political agenda.

Oh, James. You used to be part of the dialogue on finding solutions. Now you’ve just become a Faux News tool, in that world where fear is the currency of conversation, Deep State conspiracies are confused with institutional traditions, and victimization is the kernel that defines the human identity.

Oh STFU with you asinine comparisons.
      Glen Beck? You’re insane.
It’s not a conspiracy when it’s out in the open.
It’s not a conspiracy because the government “leak” funneled media chooses to, or is directed, to ignore it.

In the 60s citizenry questioned their government and the media followed suit

What followed is the state losing wars and presidencies and control.

      That wouldn’t happen again

Now the media reads a script provided to them from the handlers of the deep state bureaucracy and questions those that choke on it.

As the host has rightly surmised: the independent media has become a corporate media that supports the most nefarious entities of the state instead of questioning them.

100th Avatar as a follow to your post concerning propaganda please consider the following. During WWII some of the graduates of Officer Candidate School went into the Adjutant Generals Corps. These members of the force were tasked with the organization and deployment of the war machine. Those who were stationed in London became conversant in the propaganda of the Allied and Axis powers. At the end of WWII the Adjutant Generals Corps also managed the return of the troops to civilian life.

The many of the members of the AGC who returned to civilian life took the knowlege gained during their service into business, advertising and politics. I would suggest that a look at the Florida Junior Chamber of Commerce in the early 50’s would find examples of this. These citizens were certainly among the best in our nation. The shaping of public opinion was at the core of their success, ie the Public Opionion Polls. We see the use of these techniques everywhere in our society today and one which is of universal experience to everyone who has a telephone is telemarketing.

Everyone who has some education in political science knows that the proper formulation of the question is essential in driving a poll to the preferred outcome. I will be sixty seven in June of this year so I have a lifetime’s experience of the shaping of public opinion viv a vis advertising. The most destructive, in my opinion, phrase that has been delivered into the national discourse since the Savings and Loan debacle is “you deserve”. The concept that what you have earned is the basis of your wealth has been removed from the consciousness of the citizens of the United States. “No shirt, no shoes, no problem” – no knowledge, no sense of community, no sense of duty, no sense of responsibility, no respect for anything or anyone, no problem you must have what you deserve.

The honorable who returned from WWII and put techniques of shaping public opinion, propaganda, into the mainstream because they themselves were honorable did not sufficiently consider how these ideas could be abused by those without honor.

We now find ourselves in the age of mass media with a populace conditioned to ignore that their opionion is being shaped. As generally noted 70% of our economy is consumer driven. Remember when the diminutive golem of greatness opined that the best response to a matter of great national importance was to go shopping?

Week after week here among the comments are efforts made to shape the idea that the destruction of our nation by our own hands is what we deserve. Hate your neighbor for you deserve what he has in his possesion. The pie is shrinking get your slice NOW!

I am reminded at least once a week by someone I know that “people don’t care” as they return their attention to some media device. I am told at least twice a year that my problem is my lack of desire to be the ultimate consumer.

The state of the nation is an indication of the amount of effort that the citizens are willing to make to secure their freedom. The amount of effort seems equal to interest rates in the EU.

      Great insight.

Something beyond a weekend in DC protesting Trump and having cosmos and oysters with the gals.
      Instability. Starvation. Destruction.
      Famine. Disease.
Keeping a populace sated with cheap food, cheap mortgages, cheap entertainment, cheap gizmos and stuff, and cheap political drama that hints towards brighter horizons seems to keep them and their pitchforks indoors.

That, or they know there is nothing they can really do.
Place it all in the hands of more people for the process to begin again?

Once again, America eats its young == Elrond Hubbard

Did the spirit of Herod invade a woman’s body?

Yesterday DOJ Inspector General completes long-awaited review of Hillary Clinton probe – investigation of the illegal use by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of a private (personal) server for secret state correspondence.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/05/17/doj-inspector-general-completes-long-awaited-review-hillary-clinton-probe.html

And on the same day at the Santa Fe school, a psychopath shot 10 teenagers, and now on Sunday all political programs will discuss the shooting in Santa Fe and the cancellation of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, and not the report of the Inspector General.

And such coincidences during the election campaign of 2016 took place 11 times according to my calculations.

We are in a collapse. Morally, intellectually, economically, certainly politically and every institution we have held dear is affected. Fake news is real and you all know it. Our politicians are corrupt but then they always have been. We are now amoral. If you do not know what morality is, I can give you a list which you will hate me for but I know right from wrong, trash from treasure. I bet you do as well. The gilded age is back. Ostentatious behaviors by celebrities and because they are recognized and rich, they get the platform to speak on issues they have precious little knowledge about. Our cultural focus is on the pubic area of the body. That’s it.

The only surprise to me is that more people are not slaughtered by some wacko who cannot take it anymore or won’t. They are striking back in the manner which Hollywood permits. That is, guns, lots of shooting and gore. We are buried in our own crap and we are told it is perfume.

And Markle wore White – as if a virgin. But she’s a divorcee and thus no virgin at all. And the altered the ceremony so she could walk by herself most of the way, without being given away. Woman should never walk by herself, but rather be always under the protection and guidance of a Man: her father who gives her to her husband, her husband who gives her to his sons if he is dying, or to his brother. Or she goes back to her father’s home or the protection of her brothers if such protection is not available in her new family.

This is where the custom comes from to begin with. The whole thing is a Rothschild psy op. I know they Royal Family has no political power per se, but they still have tremendous symbolic significance. This is what the Change Agents intend to fuck with using Markle – to further tear down White Britain.

    • RB May 19, 2018 at 3:29 pm #

Oh for goodness sakes. Britain, England, UK whatever, brought in people of color many, many years ago. At one time England controlled much of the planet with all sorts of cultures and now the “children” have come to the mother land in the form of Pakistanis, Indians, Africans and they keep coming and they keep having children. If you are concerned about race, then blame the whites for inflicting their presence on other peoples and lands. When the brown skinned man discovered that a rifle bullet killed a white man just as easily as a man of color, then the world changed. Get over it. It has been my observation that people who screw the vast majority of other people are mainly white.

      • Janos Skorenzy May 19, 2018 at 8:27 pm #

Yeah, that’s why they shouldn’t have been allowed to come. Obviously they would savage the British people for the sins of the British Elite. Yet you want them to come and savage the British people (and the American, German, French, Norwegian (no colonial history by they’re White and that’s all that matters, no?, etc).

Face the inevitable conclusion: You are on the side of the Elite and their minority bully boys – and against the White natives of the West. Yet you “think” you are against colonialism….

        • RB May 20, 2018 at 2:19 am #

I did not say I was for or against anything. I stated the facts in regard to consequences of the actions of whites. You can blame the elites. It does not matter. It is the results that mean something. 9/11 is a result. Get used to it. People of color hate whites and with some justification historically. Your railings are meaningless because the trends are irreversible. The collapse will continue. The Long Emergency will go forward. People still believe that somewhere there are bright people who will keep the ship afloat. Lol. Whites are like that though. They think the system will continue because they cannot imagine it not working. I find whites to be the most naive bunch around.

          • Janos Skorenzy May 20, 2018 at 2:13 pm #

You don’t have to say: It’s clear by your tone that you are not on the side of Whites and take some kind of pleasure at our dispossession and demise.

And btw, the same people who despise White Colonialism are invariably in favor of the Muslim invasion of Europe. We have no rights in your eyes, not even the right to exist. Full spectrum attack.

This is a version of the old Marxist psychology, a savage glee and feeling of satisfaction at being on the right side of the Dialectic or The Will of Nature, The God Who Does Not Exist But Acts As If He Does.

I’m a little late here, but James, don’t expect the NYT Sunday Mag editor to be contacting your agent for an article about out energy situation, the future of transportation, or anything at all. That includes Atlantic, Harpers, the Nation, all of ’em. You’re kicked out of the lefty/intelligencia Manhattan/DC club, officially. And there’s no getting back in even if you come crawling on your knees.

Well, in Hartford, New Urbanism, such as it is, isn’t going too smooth. Its been a rough week. A few days ago young Ty Shawn age 17 took ten 9mm rounds to the head, which I mentioned already. Then the next day in the same neighborhood a DEA agent ventilated a young drug dealer/gang member when he tried to run down the agent with his car. The next day after that a female police officer had her throat slashed while investigating a landlord/tenant dispute; the slasher, a Haitian immigrant, was a spokeswoman for nonviolence and gun control. The police officer remains in critical condition, the suspect held without bond. To top off the week that same night there was a gunfight in the North End, the loser catching 2 rounds in the back. He died.

Its hard to believe how fast and how hard Hartford has fallen. It must be like this in cities all over the United States.

That’s the way things stand now; Summer is near, the streets in the hood are heating up. I come down into this city 4 nights a week and will be braced for a long season of mayhem and bloodshed.

You must say what you must say, Q, as we all know from experience, but none of that rant unfortunately changes the nature of pixieb*ll*cks.

“Go ahead and tell me that Prince Phillip and the Queen hadn’t even noticed that their grandson’s bride is half black.”

I expect they noticed, Q. Although I expect that, like most people, they didn’t REALLY know what particular variety of slightly tanned she actually was until it was explained to them, either in advance or retrospectively.

I think it’s becoming widely understood now within the more intelligent English circles that when Amelia Bassano created Shylock (a “Jew” with a non-Jewish name) for her Elizabethan audiences, Amelia Bassano was holding a mirror to that society showing them that their racist prejudices are a crude projection of themselves. The same Jewish humour dominates her plays The Tempest and Titus Andronicus.

Glad to see there’s a reform in such thinking and that the Dark Lady of the Sonnets has successfully repropgammed that pernicious defect in people’s mind. At least in some.

        • GreenAlba May 20, 2018 at 12:51 pm #

Thanks for broadening my education, akmofo, in terms of the lady in question. Now there’s someone to give Janos nightmares in three dimensions.

You’re right about the antisemitism of creations such as Shylock and (later) Fagin, of course, in English literature, but this particular lady seems to be way, way out on the fringes of the Shakespeare authorship conspiracies (and quite a latecomer too) from the very quick bit of research I just did. Interesting though, in herself, so thanks for that.

          • akmofo May 20, 2018 at 4:17 pm #

According to John Hudson the “Shake-spear” plays were collaborative (other identified collaborators include Marlow, Perkins, Fletcher and Peele). Amelia Bassano’s family were dark skinned Marrano Jews living in London. Bassano is a small town north of Venice where her family of court musicians had a house before arriving at the English royal court.

”Shake-spear” had to have known Hebrew and the TaNaKh. To invent the huge quantity of words invented one had to understand the Hebrew root system. So too the collaborative project of accessible plays and poetry is a really a duplication of culture creation and programming found in the TaNaKh.

Those characters are archetypes, like Prince Hal or Sir John Falstaff. Some real people approach them and a few even embody them. Just as sometimes you see a Jew who looks exactly like Nazi propaganda posters, alas for such an individual.

          • akmofo May 20, 2018 at 5:16 pm #

Them Nazi propaganda posters are self-referencing icons of Goebbels himself. They are a mirror image as projection. This is exactly the point Amelia was making with Shylock.

          • Janos Skorenzy May 20, 2018 at 8:06 pm #

No, they look like ugly Jews, not ugly Germans. Likewise, the Talmud was written by evil Jews not evil Gentiles.

          • akmofo May 20, 2018 at 10:14 pm #

Nope, they are a copy of gimp Goebbels, the nazi German propaganda minister. The Nazi propaganda posters are fictional grotesque caricature of supposed Jews, but in reality they are a carbon copy of Goebbels. Like I said, it’s all psychological projection. EVERYTHING the Nazis accused innocent Jews, the Nazis were guilty perpetrators of. EVERYTHING from moral degeneracy lasciviousness untruthfulness cunning betrayal disloyalty dishonour to unquenchable greed mass theft mass murder societal destruction war genocide and the most wicked satanic ugliness one could imagine. While Goebbels drew fictional propaganda posters, I can draw on real history and real facts.

This latest school massacre outside Houston, don’t expect much to be made of it. I think the story will fade out pretty quick, the reason being the shooter used an ordinary pump shotgun and .38 caliber revolver to carry out his crime and not an AR15 rifle. This latest event kind of interferes with the narrative that the AR15 has a sort of mystical power over people that makes them engage in mass murder. The truth is any firearm will do if your goal is to wipe people out. For example the Ruger 10/22 is a deadly little weapon that is both inexpensive and widely available. Of course, there’s still the NRA to blame. But it occurs to me that the people who are doing the killing are classmates of the people being killed, not the NRA. So if there are more anti gun protests, school walkouts etc. I say to the high school pissants, protest against yourself, not the NRA. You are killing each other.

“We have a social problem not a gun problem.”

This observation would seem to be at least partly correct.

I would add that our culture’s history of multimedia presentations of violence – including gun violence – and the ongoing desensitization of our youth to these ever-more refined presentations of the “successful” use of violence is a major factor in school shootings.

This environment, and the intersection of the poor impulse control of a teenager and a readily available arsenal of “real-life” tools for a solution – the plot is only to easy to imagine.

Yes when little Johnny goes from being the Center of the Universe to “just another asshole”, his raging hormone laced mind reverts to the glory of his Call of Duty “achievements and into the screen he goes, acting out his frustrations in real life. One would think that if the little bastard was raised to think of his society as something to become a part of and maybe even serve that he might be less likely to use it as a shooting gallery. When I was a kid, we were raised to consider firearms as a tool to put meat on the table and not as an implement of death. Shit in equals shit out.

ya well, maybe all these little raging assholes need to get their asses kicked by enrollment in a national service program– an updated version of the CCC camps. Get them all out there laboring in the forests. The fresh air and hard work might jar a few of them awake. I am lucky enough to live and have grown up in northern Minnesota here and worked outside in a similar way.

I don’t think this type of program would really work today. Too many lawsuits. The kids are terribly out of shape as well.

Your suggestion of mandatory public service is brilliant and has proven it’s effectiveness in Israel without a doubt. Unfortunately it will never be implemented here for many reasons and your assertion that it would not work here and now is unfortunately true as well. Then perhaps things may change, but until then it will only degrade.

Senator Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, warned Republicans Friday that unmasking an FBI mole who fed information to the Russia probe would be “potentially illegally.”

“It would be at best irresponsible, and at worst potentially illegal, for members of Congress to use their positions to learn the identity of an FBI source for the purpose of undermining the ongoing investigation into Russian interference in our election,” said Warner.

Those who’re trying on the Apocalypse are not going to fight in the army of the Mahdi (the righteous leader of Muslims) or on the side of Christ, undoubtedly feel the warmest feelings not only for Gog of the land of Magog, but also for the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, they most sincerely hate Putin for his naval and air bases in the city of Tartus and Khmeimim, allegedly threatening Israel.

Do you imagine Hillary Clinton, who at the time of the election campaign, officially promised, after her election, to force all churches in the United States to marry homosexual couples, fighting in the Mahdi army against the Dajjal (Antichrist)?

Meanwhile, it was under the influence of her exercises in semantics that tens of thousands of Muslims from all over the world went to Syria to fight in the army of the Islamic State against the infidels who had “betrayed” Khalif and Issa.

good breakdown of crime in the US by the Dept of Justice, via Huffpost

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/violent-crime-black-on-black-white-on-white-crime_us_59e8a84fe4b0d0e4fe6d953b

one take away is how much reported crime has decreased. The conclusion I draw from that is that by having the world’s largest correctionally supervised population, crime is down because violent criminals are where they ought to be– in jails and prisons.

I also found it interesting that black on white crime happens higher then white on black crime. If you listen to the MSM, you would have thought that the white on black crime was out of control.

I despair at the common man’s inability to connect statistics with his emotion and will. It’s well documented that Blacks murder at seven to ten times the White rate. Times. TIMES. That’s simply not acceptable to any White person who is mentally and emotionally fully functional. To live amongst them is to put oneself in deadly danger both in terms of simply criminality what to speak of the overt racial attacks. Thus we see the desperate attempt to flee governmentally supported incursions of Blacks into our space – enacted by Whites both conservative and liberal alike.

And Black crime differs from White crime in another way: in its often overt and gratuitous savagery. This probably speaks to the racist angle of attacks on Whites, though I imagine other Blacks receive similar treatment at times for other reasons.

Warning: Do not read if you wish to retain your illusions or if you have a weak stomach.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/stephanie-kelton-economy-washington_us_5afee5eae4b0463cdba15121

Stephanie Kelton, democratic economist. Government can print as much money as it wants as long as inflation is held in check by productivity, primarily created by universal, government guaranteed employment.

Would it work? Or would it simply destroy the economy?

    • Tate May 20, 2018 at 1:18 pm #

In the short run, it would work. In the long run, it’s not a good idea.

Universal basic employment (& universal basic income) are founded on chartalism, a school of thought originating in the early 20th century. UBE & UBI both tend to undercut gains in productivity. They both have widespread deleterious moral effects. Because they undercut gains in productivity, they are ultimately destroyers of wealth, but that’s cancelled by gains in productivity from automation, which shifts even more people into the category of useless eaters.

There has to be a balance with the need for social stability. More & more people are going to find themselves on the breadlines and the populace will become even more politically restive. Because the vast majority of people don’t contribute to gains in productivity in any case, why not give them money for nothing. We provide for public schools that ‘warehouse’ the youth beyond the time when they could be working, why not do the same for adults? Give them ‘pretend’ work & pay them a basic wage. This is ultimately a population issue. First, we need control of our borders.

There will be greater & greater pressure to put UBE & UBI into practice from pols like Sanders, Warren & others. UBI at least is coming. It’s not clear that it would immediately lead to hyperinflation. There’s a demographic now in place that militates against hyperinflation, namely, everyone is loaded with too much debt, foremost governments. This tends to inhibit spending. Look for a debt jubilee sometime toward the middle or end of the next decade. It will be loudly denounced & denied until the day it happens.

      • Janos Skorenzy May 20, 2018 at 2:45 pm #

There is no other option in the long run, be it good for us or bad for us. You see, the question was never even Asked until now. Profit alone was the arbiter of replacing Americans with immigrants and then people with machines. Now we are at the end of the old ways and something radical must be done. People don’t like it? They should have not liked the steps leading up to it. To will the means is to will an end – but we left all the “willing” up to little men devoid of wisdom or to men full of vision, but a vision that doesn’t include humanity per se, certainly not our branch of it.

The Japanese have willed correctly – intent on using robotics instead of flooding themselves with immigrants. Maybe that’s not optimum, but it is viable for the survival of their People and Nation. How is it possible? Because they don’t let the Capitalists rule them. They are National Socialists underneath the Western and Capitalist veneer.

It is just this kind of false fear mongering that sustains the violence. Walter, score is 20 and you imply multiple score are killed every weekend in Chicago.

Even counting weekdays and weekends, a score killed every week would be over 1,000. The fact is, Chicago saw nearly a 16% decline in murders in 2017 from the previous year, according to statistics released in the early hours of New Year’s Day. The city recorded 650 murders in 2017.

The latest battle in eastern Libya has killed at least six fighters, another 14 were wounded in Derna. The “Derna Protection Force” is resisting attacks by the self-proclaimed Libyan National Army led by renegade General Khalifa Haftar. What is might making right… 300 years of violence for what? Jesus weeps a lot less frequently per head of population over here, though, elysianfield, than over your way, and attends fewer police funerals too.

Some reasoning – and a picture of armed British police half way down to warm the cockles of your heart.

      https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/why-london-won-t-arm-all-police-despite-severe-terror-n737551

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-19641398

“We are passionate that the British style of policing is routinely unarmed policing. Sadly we know from the experience in America and other countries that having armed officers certainly does not mean, sadly, that police officers do not end up getting shot.”

“But one thing is clear. When asked, police officers say overwhelmingly that they wish to remain unarmed.

“A 2006 survey of 47,328 Police Federation members found 82% did not want officers to be routinely armed on duty, despite almost half saying their lives had been “in serious jeopardy” during the previous three years.”

“There’s a general recognition that if the police are walking around with guns it changes things,” says Richard Garside, director of the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies.

“Arming the force would, say opponents, undermine the principle of policing by consent – the notion that the force owes its primary duty to the public, rather than to the state, as in other countries.”

      • elysianfield May 20, 2018 at 8:40 pm #

““But one thing is clear. When asked, police officers say overwhelmingly that they wish to remain unarmed.”

        Alba,
I am not moralizing…your system seems to work…for now. Consider asking the “rozzers” that were chased by the bloke with the knife about up-arming…might get a different response.

I worked the(arguably) meanest streets in the civilized world for 4 years in the latter part of the turbulent ’60’s…never shot anyone…however, in the situation on the video…a crazed citizen brandishing a knife would either submit or be neutralized by other means…the safety of the public demands it.

A scenario of a guy In uniform being chased by a guy with a knife is completely foreign in the US….

And the question mark after ‘Quite.’ was entirely accidental. CLOWNS, like the poor, will always be with us.

I didn’t notice that they were unarmed, even though it clearly stated they were unarmed. Oh well, If you want your police unarmed, that’s your business.

Here in the U.S., there seems to be a recent unspoken sentiment among the men (& women) in blue — in response to the ‘depolicing’ movement — that they will leave the savages alone if at all possible. Do you think many if not most are not thinking of retirement when they allow that? That’s what I had in mind with my comment.

I just won’t visit your islands any more with my tourist $$$. We would feel unsafe there. Even though the kebabi rape gangs & the acid attackers wouldn’t directly threaten me & mine, still thuggery breeds more thuggery. I’ll just continue to go to another island group 3,000 miles west of here, where it’s paradise except when the volcano is active.

“Oh well, If you want your police unarmed, that’s your business.”

I don’t know if you read the rationale in the links I gave you.

As I said before, I’m a pragmatist. If the UK becomes as dangerous as the US, in terms of violent crime, I’m sure the balance will change. But we’re a long way from that at the moment.

I hope I’m not meant to feel disappointed, Tate. I’m well aware that travel doesn’t always broaden the mind.

Where I quite often spend my tourist pounds nobody even locks the door – it’s the little house behind the boy’s head…

But no-one invited you. Walter would like it because that’s Skye in the far background on the left.

Of all the Americans that I’ve met in the UK, none shared your views – most of the ones with your views have never been to anywhere you’d need a passport for (outside of a military base).

A friend of mine, originally from Mauritius, is only a few weeks back from a little cabin right beside that volcano, though – good timing.

Uh-oh, Starbucks is being taken to the woodshed again. Another week, another incident at Howard’s Happy Hangout of heavily sugared non-alcoholic beverages.

What happened was, out in Cali a beaner named Peter came in and ordered a drink and they put the name “Beaner”on his cup. Seems logical enough. Anyway, he complained & all Hell broke loose. People were saying, “Omigosh, how could this happen?! in the year 2018?! What have we become as a people?! We’ll have to rethink coming here…” Performing for the cameras ya know.

    What is heresy?

Most Christians think that heresy is an erroneous teaching. In fact, the concept of heresy goes far beyond these boundaries.

Nestorius, for example, in 431, was invited to the cathedral in Ephesus, and it was explained to him that his “theory” was spurious, and he spread his hands and said: “I do not understand!”

    And he refused to renounce.

And they told him: “Okay, go then, but do not teach anyone this theory!” And he went to the monastery, and taught no one, and died in peace with the Church, and did not become a heretic. The doctrine, which his “followers” declared Nestorianism, was declared heresy, and Nestorius was not.

And who knows, if the Order of Freemasons would have formed if Justinian, having won the condemnation of Origenism, refrained from condemning Origen 300 years after his death?

But with Arius it is a different story.

Despite the condemnation of his teaching by the Council of Nicaea and the adoption of the Nicene Creed, Arius, well aware of the weakness of the Political Christianity for thousands of years to come, decided to force the Church to adopt his teachings through intrigue leveraging the power of the state.

And the Emperor Constantine the Great, the Equal-to-the-Apostles, was baptized on the edge of the grave by an Arian bishop, and the barbarians who captured vast territories in Western Europe (for example, West-Goths, Vandals, Burgundians, who thirsted through Christianity to join the great Roman civilization were baptized by missionaries sent by the Arians, who with the help of intrigues gained great influence at the court of Constantine the Great and his heir Constantius II.

And even if we do not go into the circumstances of Arius’s death in 336, as Socrates Scholasticus described them, the death that occurred a year before the death of Constantine the Great and a few hours before the Liturgy, at which he was to receive the communion by order of the Emperor, all the story of the rise and fall of Arianism at the court of Constantine the Great and his heir Constantius II is striking with frank mysticism.

And if Arius’s death can still be attributed to poison, then the liberation of the Church from Arianism as a result of the coming to power of Julian the Apostate can not be denied, and this story is so reminiscent of the liberation of the Russian Church from those who subsequently developed their “theological” ideas in Ahnenerbe, which can not be explained other as an intervention from above.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahnenerbe

And given that the most consistent and intellectually honest apologist for Arius was Isaac Newton, and his writings on this subject formed the basis of the apocalyptic geopolitics of the neocons in Syria (not to be confused with the interpretation of the Apocalypse not only by the Evangelical/Episcopalians supporting Trump, but also and especially important with the Apocalyptic geopolitics of the Clintonoids), then the realization of the political history of this arch-heretic becomes not only relevant, but vital for all Christians in the world.

off-topic loads for the unsuspecting ignoranti

The questions of various interpretation of the Apocalypse by different Western Gnostic sects is probably the most relevant topic we could discuss now – it has a direct bearing on current events, including the reasons for creation of totally Apocalyptic Islamic State and periodic sacrifices of school children in the US.

“One can see where this tangled tale is tending: to the sacred chamber known as the grand jury. Probably several grand juries. That will lead to years of entertaining courtroom antics at the same time that the USA’s financial condition fatefully unravels. That event might finally produce the effect that all the exertions of the so-called Deep State have failed to achieve so far: the discrediting of Donald Trump. Alas, the literal discrediting of the USA and its hallowed institutions — including the US dollar — may be a much more momentous thing than the fall of Trump.” — JHK

And it continues… Turkey has just repatriated all of its gold reserves from the US. (Yes, all. Probably trying to get out ahead of all these sanctions that are getting slapped on the world entire if they don’t bow to the wisdom and wishes of the well-meaning and benevolent American ferr’n policy ‘stablishment of gun-totin’ cowboys.) Strangely, 19 billion in bullion landed in the nicely manicured hands of the BIS in Basel. Erdogan’s “relocation” stash?

      More, circa May 18th,
“Germany’s Deutsche Welle reports from last night: “EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker announced that the bloc plans to kickstart a 1996 law that would prohibit European companies from complying with US sanctions on Iran.”

Juncker said: “As the European Commission we have the duty to protect European companies. We now need to act and this is why we are launching the process to activate the ‘blocking statute’ from 1996.”

From this, we can surmise that money talks and bullshit walks. Principles be damned; now we’re talking about something *serious*!

Fourth Reich thinks it is ready for a little “mutiny on the ship”.

The unification of Germany in the 1990s was the biggest geopolitical mistake Anglo Saxons allowed to happen.

As Margaret Thatcher used to say, “I love Germany so much I want to be at least two of them”.

Personally, I think the right number of Germanies would be between 8 and 12.

Hey Oz maybe at some point Iran will get around to dropping a few nuclear tipped missiles into Paris, London, Rome and Brussels. Who knows? And why not, what’s gonna stop ’em? The Dutch army ha ha ha? The Swiss Guards in the Vatican? Of course Junker, other EU Commissars and the 30,000 flunkies and little commissars who work for him will most likely get early warning and haul ass up to the Alps and hide out until the (nuclear) storm blows over. Commissar Junker might even favor this outcome because all recalcitrant Europeans get wiped out he can go about repopulating Europe with africans and Middle Easterners, people more malleable and easier to boss around. There’s still these pesky nationalistic Hungarians, Czechs and Pole causing trouble but he can deal with them at a later date once he consolidates power and raises a new model barmy army.

As usual, Ozone, you’re misreading the situation. No such decision by Russia has been made yet – and Russia continues to buy US debt.

In case US cease to exist as a factor of international politics, Russia will face alone the enemies far more dangerous.

“Let’s cut to the chase…”right”…who’s right…who’s moral compass, who’s religious right…who’s cultural right…who’s political correctness…. “Right” is seeming variable.” –Elysianfield

This is exactly the mindset of terrorists and fanatics. Believing themselves to be in the “right” they utiilize “might” to murder other human beings. Terrorists and murderers engage in killing because they believe, as you do, that “might is right.”

    Well, what do you know?

Down Venezuela way President Maduro is doing such a good job — the country is in such great shape — that he was re elected with 75% of the vote. Michael Moore, Danny Glover, Sean Penn, they were right all along; these Venezuelans just love socialism and living under a socialist/Marxist system.

No food, no toiletries, no electricity, no running water, murder rampant, gangs running the streets, just a bunch of dirty lies told by a bunch capitalist running dogs in North America, that’s all.

The lesson from Venezuela is that you should always vote. The opposition called for an electoral boycott which rarely succeeds in rendering elections illegitimate in the eyes of the world. Instead, the boycotting party usually emerged weaker and the incumbent empowered. Hence, Maduro was easily re-elected. If you want change, you must vote.

Trump’s election was illegitimate due to foreign collusion. Russians weren’t the only foreign power trying to hook up with Donald Trump Jr. and give a boost to the Trump campaign ahead of the 2016 election. There was yet another secret Trump Tower meeting during the campaign where the president’s son and aides met with shadowy foreigners offering to help Make America Great Again.

On August 3, 2016, instead of Russians offering dirt on Hillary Clinton, an emissary for the crown princes of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates said the de facto rulers were eager to help Trump win the White House, and the offer reportedly got an approving response from Trump Jr. An Israeli expert in “social media manipulation” was there too, and explained how his company could give the Trump campaign an advantage.

Both offers, if accepted, would have violated U.S. election laws, and special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigators have already been looking into this and other subsequent meetings. Trump’s lying tweets are increasingly desperate attempts to distract from his criminal behavior.

Nope. You should never participate in a rigged system. You should publicly expose it for such and withdraw all credibility to its existence.

      • janet May 21, 2018 at 9:00 am #

Withdrawing is exactly what the opposition in Venezuela did. Refusing to participate is what guaranteed Maduro staying in power.

I understood your point above, you don’t need to repeat it. Not everything is measured in instant gratification. Proper institutions and proper culture to command these institutions is a long term project as it guides long term sustainability. When you change the culture of corruption, corrupt institutions will cease to exist. To change the culture of corruption you stop lending it any credibility by allowing yourself any interaction with it. When people take personal responsibility for their environment things will change. It’s really that simple.

America is totally fucked because of the ubiquitous, pervasive dishonesty. Americans shouldn’t be allowed to operate the cash register, much less have decision making authority to torture, and kill. At least, the Jews don’t whack other Jews. Americans will whack anybody, including the President for money, power, and aggrandizement.
