Howard Schultz seemed like a nice enough fellow on CBS’s 60 Minutes show last week. The coffee maestro from the Brooklyn public housing projects is no Golden Golem of Greatness but, alas, he does happen to be a white man, meaning he’s a walking microaggression. And he informed the viewing audience that he is of the Hebrew persuasion, which must have induced a fugue of hysteria among those who believe that the Jews have put the global economy on layaway for some future apocalyptic Hanukkah celebration.

In a way, he’s calling the Political Identitarians’ bluff. The Democrats who, for the moment, remain a major political party, are absolutely determined to put a woman in the White House because men have made the world a failed planet that can only be fixed with a regime of caring-and-sharing. The Democrats would like to drive a wooden stake through Mr. Schultz’s offensive gonads.  How dare he! Does he not know that his independent ticket in the 2020 election will crib votes from whomever the “It’s Her Turn” candidate proves to be — and result in the re-election of that Diet Coke guzzling shit-magnet in the oval office? (!)

Senator Kamala Harris of California is the big locomotive on the track for now. I suspect her cowcatcher will shove Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, and honorary feminist Cory Booker into the weeds before the first debates are over. Ms. Harris is a formidable personality. You could see it in her hectoring interrogations during senate committee hearings the past few years. She likes to chew up these equivocating pissants sitting below at the witness table and spit them out. She comes from a family of scientists and economists and has had a distinguished career of her own, dealing with a lot of dicey legal questions in the political hall of mirrors called California. I don’t have any doubt that she’s intelligent and qualified.

But I do have doubts that anyone will want to take the oath of office on January 20, 2021. The problem-of-problems (and there are many) is that America has shot its wad borrowing money to keep things going — things like the consumer economy, suburbia, generous pensions, agribusiness, health care, higher education… stuff like that. The reason we’ve shot our wad: the collateral for our loans is gone. Oh? What was that collateral? It was the promise of future economic growth, rather specifically of the industrial type that produced real stuff and real wealth. We put that on a slow boat to China some years ago and replaced it with financialization, which is a colossal Three-Card-Monte game that produces a lot of “money” without producing wealth. Even worse, financialization destroyed the indexes that accounted for the measurement of real wealth, or capital, and replaced it with accounting fraud, so it’s very hard to see the damage.

What it boils down to is that the USA is no longer a credit-worthy borrower. If the USA was looking for a car, it would have to settle for a 14-year-old Jeep Cherokee on somebody’s lawn with a sign taped to the windshield that says “Runs Gud!” Of course, America will still manage a kind of hocus-pocus to give itself loans — which is what happens when the Federal Reserve buys bonds from the US Treasury — but with the collateral of future real growth gone, the catch is that the money itself will increasingly be gone as the dollar loses value. That’s nature’s way of seeking equilibrium.

The final two years of the Golden Golem’s reign will be the workout of these dynamics. Poor Mr. Trump will be left groaning and bellowing in that tar pit of fiscal ruin like a doomed mastodon while the saber-toothed cats prowl the sagebrush flats around him. Let’s face it: he served his purpose. He stirred the pot. He gave the right people some wedgies. He revealed all the fissures in our disintegrating national life. More consequentially, perhaps, he changed the composition of the federal courts. So that when Kamala Harris does take her turn, and discovers the horrifying financial state of the union, the courts will obstruct her most ambitious schemes to strip the remaining assets from the land to keep America’s beater government running at all costs. That is, to turn the USA into a paradise of free everything.

But Howard Schultz kind of mucks things up. Think of him as a sort of Bizarro Golden Golem of Greatness. He will appeal to a lot of voters who are looking for a reassuring Daddy. He fulfills the fantasy of what an outsider businessman-type might bring to the scene without all the reeking baggage on Mr. Trump’s careening choo-choo. It’s also possible that he doesn’t scare easy, and that the show of claws and fangs he’s been treated to so far on the “Progressive” side of things are an interesting sign of weakness in his adversaries.

Nobody here likes him. Starbucks does nothing for ‘the community’. They don’t ‘give back’. They take. Like he did our basketball team. Sold a local treasure for personal profit he did.

Makes Schultz qualified for POTUS, it sure does! As qualified as Trump. Sociopaths in charge.

The question of no collateral … all the assets and wealth in the US adds up to about $150 trillion total.

It might be time for a fire sale pretty soon.

Sounds like a liquidation sale. A yard sale. A garage sale

The problem is there is no one that has any money to buy anything. Most assets are land in the west, which is public anyway.

Besides, the tides in DC is to protect the Deep State. Losing assets is diametrically opposed to that. The Dems have zero concept of fiscal responsibility anyway.

      • chipshot February 1, 2019 at 5:18 pm #

“The Dems have zero concept of fiscal responsibility anyway.”

Unbelievable. Spoken only as a diehard Foxist can.
Republicans created most of the government’s debt w their tax cuts and bloated military budgets (Reagan, Bush, Bush and Trump).

        You really are brainwashed, JohnAZ.

  3. Drsmuggs February 1, 2019 at 10:05 am #

As long as Schultz sounds like the adult in the room he has a shot. He is the only one talking about the debt on either side of the aisle.

    • K-Dog February 1, 2019 at 10:11 am #

Looks can be deceiving but that’s nothing America knows. Perhaps when he appropriates a national highway and turns it into a personal mall like he did to Utah Avenue in front of SB main headquarters America will know they made the right choice. The butthurt choice because that is what America does.

      • JohnAZ February 1, 2019 at 10:27 am #

Maybe he can develop the Mall at the Wall that Seawolf espoused in the last blog.

          Mall in the Wall
          So Tall……Can’t fall……

No, too much like ‘rap’ and anybody doing that in front of SB headquarters is going to be moved along these days pretty quick. 1st Avenue is being gentrified. High end home furnishing places, legal weed, and urban outfit places have transformed the area. I work a third of a mile from SB headquarters. Those with an aroma of character or just plain too much aroma find 4th avenue more welcoming now.

Schultz has no shot. He got eviscerated this week on Twitter (laugh if you want, but Twitter is a good indicator of how the under 40 crowd feels).

As far as the debt, if it is that important, any discussion about reducing it has to start w military spending.

  4. Hands4u February 1, 2019 at 10:14 am #

Jim, and other CF commentators, any thoughts about who would be a better and/or more capable candidate from our current field? Any thoughts about someone that may have not thrown their handkerchief into the ring of slime yet?

    • K-Dog February 1, 2019 at 10:26 am #

Ask something easy why don’t you! In a nation of more than 300 million people finding a capable enough man (or woman) could be a frigging nightmare, impossible.

Psssssssssttt. I joke of course, Finding qualified people is not a problem. There are millions of Americans who are capable of putting national needs above personal desire. Well read mature people, kind people with a vision of a Nation far better than the one in which we live. Shining cities on hills, for real, that stuff. People who yearn to make America great beyond your wildest dreams.

Getting them nominated and voted for is the problem.

        K-Dog,

      • patrickd February 1, 2019 at 11:44 am #

Finding qualified people is certainly a problem. We need people who can figure out how to transition from a robber baron economy to a true democracy, who can write laws that prevent the current reign of terror campaigns and country destruction that is the US foreign policy. The removal of special interests, ie money interests, has to be written as law. The US government has to be rebooted, so to speak, with all laws deleted, since they serve the robbers and killers. Who in our country is smart enough to do that, and smart enough to avoid assassination by the Deep State operatives?

The Deep State is no doubt watching closely anyone who can make a real difference, ready to make him/her disappear before any real damage can be inflicted on terror headquarters (the federal government).

Unfortunately, there’s no saving the US. Most people don’t seem to realize that the US is the world’s terrorist, or if they do, they certainly don’t want to acknowledge it. There’s not a single politician who speaks the truth, that the US is a rogue nation, unlawful, guilty of crimes against humanity and the destruction of scores of countries around the globe.
Probably millions of people around the globe – maybe billions – join me in prayer each morning, asking God to bring to an end this great evil called the USA, who each day murders more families in the interest of its thefts.

America needs to wake up and speak to this evil, carry signs “Stop the murders!” in the streets. Or “Democracy, not Looting!” How can Americans go on with their day in a business-as-usual mode when our military is a terror arm of global banker families, daily murdering civilians in other countries, bombing their schools, hospitals, and utility centers?

“America” is self-destructing, but she is also threatening several nuclear powers, who believe that the threat is real, and who are prepared to neutralize the US on its own land. If the US manages to get a hot war going with one of these nuclear powers, she will be destroyed, since she only knows how to kill defenseless families.

We don’t need qualified citizens for this looting operation known as the US government. We need citizens who are qualified to write up a new form of government – a democracy – with laws that exclude the current class of parasites who now run the place.

Since I don’t see that happening, what is left is collapse or occupation of the US mainland.

        • JohnAZ February 1, 2019 at 11:59 am #

          You are wrong!

America is not the root ofballnevel in the world.

The Deep State is! The Federal Government doing whatever it needs to to promote and sustain itself is!

This government is its own people’s worst nightmare.

And last I heard, the American public is supposed to be running DC, not vice versa.

Trump is an attempt at doing it. And all he gets is grief. Turn over the government? Ha! The midterms proved the ludicrousness of that idea.

How to fix the problem? Easy!

Go through the immigration rolls and deport all the illegals that are voting Democrat illegally.

          Voila! A different country.

        • Cavepainter February 1, 2019 at 12:22 pm #

C’mon, blanket damming of America (and Western culture, for that matter), that horse needs to be put back in the barn. Such sweeping condemnation “rides” on presumption that had other cultures gained such dominance in all spheres of technical and organizational advancement then the globe would be much better off. To the contrary, no other culture has attained the level of secular examination of empirical evidence as has Western culture — hence our great contribution to humanity’s prospect for survival. Take your emotionalism and stuff it!

          • Janos Skorenzy February 1, 2019 at 1:09 pm #

That’s why non-White immigration is so evil. They will dilute this precious legacy and kill the golden goose for dinner. Most Whites don’t value their legacy in this day and age even though it is theirs. How do we expect other people to do so when it isn’t? Their pride leads them to value their own culture over a dying one. A wise man would expect nothing less and therefore never let them in.

          • patrickd February 1, 2019 at 1:14 pm #

Cavepainter, the west is the greatest threat to survival of the human species. Wake up!

    • Epicur February 1, 2019 at 10:57 am #

      “…who would be a better and/or more capable…”

We are in a “when the pupil is ready, the teacher appears” kind of situation. In our case the pupil is not ready yet.

As our host noted there will still be plenty of opposition to any “cure” for our ills that is proposed. FDR’s New Deal was not possible until the Depression started, and still had to be imposed over monumental opposition until the Japanese did him the favor of bombing Pearl Harbor.

The above observations should not be taken as an endorsement of the New Deal, let alone for what is coming when the pupil is finally ready. Napoleon’s whiff of grape would have been to no avail until the people were sick of the situation and ready for the man on the white horse.

Our situation is not yet the same, but we are headed that way.

      • JohnAZ February 1, 2019 at 11:12 am #

Tulsi Gabbard, perhaps. But no one individual is going to be able to right the ship.

And the chances of a true outsider who will not allow themselves to be corrupted by the system winning are 0.

      • JohnAZ February 1, 2019 at 11:13 am #

Yep, GGG is proof. The Deep State grinds them up and spits them out.

      • Janos Skorenzy February 1, 2019 at 12:36 pm #

Kamala Harris comes across as imperious and entitled: asking one gotcha question after another and not waiting to hear the answers. Classic Black Queen personality – a complete disaster in other words. Obviously an anti-White racist.

Tulisi Gabbard is a Goddess by comparison. But alas, it is late in the day and the Hour approaches. Even she had to give up her healthy Anti-Gay position in order to attain “credibility” – betraying her deepest beliefs in the process.

        • Ol' Scratch February 1, 2019 at 3:31 pm #

And thus she revealed her true character, or lack thereof.

      • Nightowl February 3, 2019 at 4:45 am #

Bernie is a fraud who sold out to everything he claimed to be against when he endorsed Clinton.

The Dems have already begun smearing Gabbard as a “Russian asset.” It would be funny if it weren’t so sad.

      • kimmasad01 February 3, 2019 at 6:19 pm #

Bernie and his wife Jane were embroiled in a fradulent scheme to borrow money against pledged donations (that never materialized) and enrollments (that never materialized) at Burlington College in order to purchase land from the Roman Catholic Diocese for $10 million dollars. Now the college is shut down.

Nice work, Bernie and Jane- you ran that college into the ground, you lied on the loan application. Is that how they would run the county?

  5. Walter B February 1, 2019 at 10:14 am #

Howard Schultz, eh? Well at least when he is assaulted he can play the Anti-Semite card. That is better than most of the white men can do which is nothing. Do we see a pattern here? Corrupt sellout politicians who are owned by wealthy businessmen being challenged by independent wealthy business men who “probably” cannot be bought out, at least not so easily. I say it’s worth a try because the old system has failed miserably. I have detractors that do not like it when I pick on the old, geriatrics like Nancy Pelosi or John McCain (yes I know he is gone), but surely the democrats are suffering from advancing Alzheimer’s if they plan on running two seriously corrupt left and right coast career politicians like Kamila and Cory. If they had any real intelligence they would put up Oprah or Michelle Obama, would that not be a winner, winner chicken dinner? The fact that they are not, leads me to fear that HRC is not out of the picture yet, as improbable as that might sound. Time will tell.

          • SpeedyBB February 1, 2019 at 5:59 pm #

Walter B, your “scum” comment reminds me of a quote by Nikita Khrushchev. When someone asked him how a profoundly incompetent apparatchik had managed to be nominated for an important position, K.’s answer was “Shit floats to the surface”.

            (Present company excepted, one assumes.)

          • Walter B February 1, 2019 at 7:23 pm #

Though my German Grandmother waned us all that we could “Never trust the Russians”, I do believe that I would have liked Nikita Khrushchev, even as a foe, rather than a friend. Friends are so damned hard to find. Don’t you think?

          • SpeedyBB February 2, 2019 at 5:31 am #

Walter, I grew up as an Air Force brat, inculcated with fear of the Russkies and hatred of Communism. When the [weighted] scales fell from my eyes and I saw the Good Works of the Dulles brothers and other domestic arch-war-criminals I gave the Russians a second look. One short visit to Moscow. Tough love but YES I think you could bond a close friendship under the right circumstances.

Poor Nikita, forced to do humiliating folk dances at drunken dacha dinners by “Uncle Joe”, had a sense of reality about him which likely saved everyone’s skin – by pulling back from the Cuba confrontation. Russians remember what it was like to have their country bombed; Americans never had the privilege. Curtis LeMay wanted to go for it and kept urging a wavering JFK to make a first strike on Moscow. Kennedy reportedly asked, philosophically, “Can I afford to lose twenty million voters?”

My Air Force colonel brother remarked at the time “The only danger to our bombers heading for the USSR would have been running into each other.”

Once the Cuban crisis was over, and some modus vivendi was in place, Ambassador Dobrynin was said to have told the President “We will never let this happen to us again”. Thus the escalation of the arms race, to the joy of certain elements on both sides.

So old cagey survivor Khrushchev may have saved human life on the planet. Think about that.

    • JohnAZ February 1, 2019 at 11:18 am #

Can nobody get their arms around the idea that these narcissistic rich beyond belief people might actually care about what they believe is the destruction of this country? That they are willing to put their own life plans on hold and put up with the DC BS to try to right the ship.

While you applaud Schultz for his effort, sociopaths are characterized by impulsivity. True fact. It is not about being willing to put their own life plans on hold. It is a ‘what me worry‘ situation where the narcissist walks on water thinking everybody else is too dumb to notice the rocks under the waves on which he steps. Narcissism with a touch of manic depression. Throw in eye of newt and you have all the ingredients for a time bomb; or a POTHUS.

If you think about how human beings think John, they project their own lives onto the rest of the world, don’t they? If they are ok, everybody is ok. If they are struggling, everybody is struggling, at least that is the way a lot perceive things. So it is very easy for me to picture these uber-wealthy types hanging partying away in each other’s estates and castles saying, “I don’t understand what these peasants are complaining about, things look great to me! How many gazillions did YOU make last year? How about we double that next year?”

      Hi Walter

I was a little disappointed you didn’t reply to my last post in the previous blog, or perhaps you didn’t see it?

You ranted about how Pelosi is passing on her political influence to her children?

      Hmmm… facts are important, right?

Here’s what I could find in a brief, shallow search of Pelosi’s ‘spawn’

Christine, 52, is a strategist for the DNC – okay, so she’s political.

      Alexandra, 48, is a journalist…

Paul,Jr, 50, in ‘various businesses’ and posted a snap of himself with Ivanka at the 2018 NY Mar-a-Lago bash on Instagram

Nancy Corrine – 55, sales director for the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose

Jacqueline, 51, married & living in Houston (can’t identify her occupation), married to an Irish citizen ( with an American mother)

So, can you explain to me how she is ‘installing’ her children into positions of power, dynasty style (unlike Trump who does it all in plain sight)?

Now, Kamala Harris is being branded as ‘seriously corrupt’. Can you enlighten me on that too?

  6. Neon Vincent February 1, 2019 at 10:21 am #

I was expecting you would write about Howard Schultz. On Monday morning, the pundits at CBS News, CNN, and CNBC debated his running for president as an independent and generally thought it would be bad for Democrats, which is driving the oldest continuously active political party into a froth, much like the one on a Starbucks latte. Trump isn’t the only billionaire uniting the Democrats, who Will Rogers famously mocked when he said “I am not a member of any organized party — I am a Democrat.” They’re organized now!

“Poor Mr. Trump will be left groaning and bellowing in that tar pit of fiscal ruin like a doomed mastodon while the saber-toothed cats prowl the sagebrush flats around him.” I enjoy your paleontological references even more than when you reference “The Fourth Turning” and other works of Strauss and Howe. However, as the world’s expert on the fossil snails and clams of Rancho La Brea who also looked at the plant fossils from the deposit, the area around the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax was not mostly sagebrush flats, even though sagebrush fossils have been identified from the deposit. It looked more like Big Sur does today, complete with redwood groves surrounded by chaparral upstream. If you want sagebrush flats around tar pits, try McKittrick, which is west of Bakerfield. I used to work there, too, and it very much fits that description.

The $2.70 for a 16 oz regular drip could soon be charged on SNAP cards and snap cards can soon start looking as snazzy as SB gift cards with their delightful artwork. Janos can get a ‘gold’ card but plain white ones could be offered as choices too. For sure we get a quarter with George Washington on one side and the SB mermaid on the other. Interesting times.

      • Epicur February 1, 2019 at 11:05 am #

I doubt Starbucks wants any SNAP cards in the house.

They have to manage that situation with care to avoid it being obvious as happened not long ago in Philly, but they have enough sense to know they have to walk that tightrope as all the bien pensant do.

        • K-Dog February 1, 2019 at 11:24 am #

They can give them a discount at the drive in window. I think you mean they don’t want any SNAP cards with a positive cash balance. A hot whipped Fruckyouchino Moca priced to drain the card at a ‘partner outlet’ can fill the need.

Standards at SB partner outlets are not as big on the oak steel and high end glass lampshades. No fireplaces in Starbucks partner outlets or thick padded leather chairs. In target the chair is plastic and they stack up at the end of the night.

A SB for everybody. Perhaps a flag that has red white and green? The blue is so old school and instead of the old national anthem we can just play cool jazz. Starbucks outlets in the movie Idiocracy had special services. I’ll let someone else go there but Schultz can be on a painting behind the counter crossing the Potomac in a boat in any future remake of that movie.

Hate the coffee. It reminds me of my grandmother’s. She was old school and brewed it in a percolator. It sat on the back of the stove on low all day. It was hot and strong and burnt the cowboy way.

Old coffee, cigarettes, the smell of ketchup covered meatloaf wafting across the room, a half-eaten piece of Entenmann coffee cake on a paper plate, an old woman sitting in the corner watching “I Love Lucy” on an RCA black and white. Ah now that’s America.

          • SpeedyBB February 2, 2019 at 7:11 am #

            You dudes are a scream.

Reminds me of the delightful Jackie Mason riff on Starbucks:

‘Starbucks is the best example of a phony status symbol that means nothing, but people will still pay 10x as much for because there are French words all over the place. You want coffee in a coffee shop, that’s 60 cents. But at Starbucks, Cafe Latte: $3.50. Cafe Cremier: $4.50. Cafe Suisse: $9.50. For each French word, another four dollars.

‘Why does a little cream in coffee make it worth $3.50? Go into any coffee shop; they’ll give you all the cream you want until you’re blue in the face.

‘Forty million people are walking around in coffee shops with jars of cream: “Here’s all the cream you want!” And it’s still 60 cents. You know why? Because it’s called “coffee.” If it’s Cafe Latte – $4.50. You want cinnamon in your coffee? Ask for cinnamon in a coffee shop; they’ll give you all the cinnamon you want. Do they ask you for more money because it’s cinnamon? It’s the same price for cinnamon in your coffee as for coffee without cinnamon – 60 cents, that’s it. But not in Starbucks. Over there, it’s Cinnamonnier -$9.50. You want a refill in a regular coffee shop, they’ll give you all the refills you want until you drop dead. You can come in when you’re 27 and keep drinking coffee until you’re 98. And they’ll start begging you: “Here, you want more coffee, you want more, you want more?” Do you know that you can’t get a refill at Starbucks? A refill is a dollar fifty. Two refills, $4.50. Three refills, $19.50. So, for four cups of coffee-$350.

‘And it’s burnt coffee. It’s burnt coffee at Starbucks, let’s be honest about it. If you get burnt coffee in a coffee shop, you call a cop. You say, “It’s the bottom of the pot. I don’t drink from the bottom of the pot. But when it’s burnt at Starbucks, they say, “Oh, it’s a blend. It’s a blend?” It’s a special bean from Argentina.” The bean is in your head. And there’re no chairs in those Starbucks. Instead, they have these high stools. You ever see these stools? You haven’t been on a chair that high since you were two. Seventy-three year old Jews are climbing and climbing to get to the top of the chair. And when they get to the top, they can’t even drink the coffee because there’s 12 people around one little table, and everybody’s saying, “Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me, excuse me…..” Then they can’t get off the chair. Old Jews are begging Gentiles, “Mister, could you get me off this?” Do you remember what a cafeteria was? In poor neighborhoods all over this country, they went to a cafeteria because there were no waiters and no service. And so poor people could save money on a tip. Cafeterias didn’t have regular tables or chairs either. They gave coffee to you in a cardboard cup. So because of that you paid less for the coffee. You got
            less, so you paid less.

‘It’s all the same as Starbucks – no chairs, no service, a cardboard cup for your coffee – except in Starbucks, the less you get, the more it costs. By the time they give you nothing, it’s worth four times as much. Am I exaggerating? Did you ever try to buy a cookie in Starbucks? Buy a cookie in a regular coffee shop. You can tear down a building with that cookie. And the whole cookie is 60 cents. At Starbucks, you’re going to have to hire a detective to find that cookie and it’s $9.50. And you can’t put butter on it because they want extra. Do you know that if you buy a bagel, you pay extra for cream cheese in Starbucks? Cream cheese, another 60 cents. A knife to put it on, 32 cents. If it reaches the bagel, 48 cents. That bagel costs you $312. And they don’t give you the butter or the cream cheese. They don’t give it to you. They tell you where it is. “Oh, you want butter? It’s over there. Cream cheese? Over here. Sugar? Sugar is here.” Now you become your own waiter. You walk around with a tray. “I’ll take the cookie. Where’s the butter? The butter’s here. Where’s the cream cheese? The cream cheese is there.” You walked around for an hour and a half selecting items, and then the guy at the cash register has a glass in front of him that says “Tips.” You’re waiting on tables for an hour, and you owe him money.

‘Then there’s a sign that says please clean it up when you’re finished. They don’t give you a waiter or a busboy. Now you’ve become the janitor. Now you have to start cleaning up the place. Old Jews are walking around cleaning up Starbucks. “Oh, he’s got dirt too? Wait, I’ll clean this up.” They clean up the place for an hour and a half. If I said to you, “I have a great idea for a business. I’ll open a whole new type of a coffee shop. A whole new type. Instead of 60 cents for coffee I’ll charge $2.50, $3.50, $4.50, and $5.50. Not only that, I’ll have no tables, no chairs, no water, no busboy, and you’ll clean it up for 20 minutes after you’re finished.” Would you say to me, “That’s the greatest idea for a business I ever heard! We can open a chain of these all over the world!” No, you would put me right into a sanitarium.

‘Starbucks can only get away with it because they have French titles for everything, Nazi bastard son-of-a-bitches. And I say this with the highest respect, because I don’t like to talk about people.’

“Starbucks can only get away with it because they have French titles for everything,”

The sales job done on folks like DEF is amazing. The New Left has no feeling at all for financial integrity. They are totally Communistic, with the core of their program aimed at taking away the wealth of the country from people who earned it and giving it to the gimme folks. They are going to destroy the America I grew up in. And bragging on the fact. Every one of the interviewees talking about where the capital is going to come from to finance their pies in the sky has the same answer. Tax the rich. What happens when the programs are passed and the rich jump ship. I will bet the Caymans and Switzerland are grinning right now in anticipation.

Yes it does malthuss and history proves this. Which begs the question, why tax the American public at all? Why not just borrow and print away forever? What’s that, it won’t work? And you are to blame for that: one extreme invokes the other. Capitalism leads directly to Communism. Until you (generic) hold to the High Middle, you are a malfactor, a whirlpool in the river of life.

The mid-state Capitalism you grew up with is gone. Progress? Depends on your pov, but it is the case. And that changes everything except the minds of those who cling to the past by pretending it still is.

Howard Schultz is diametrically opposed to the nutty direction of the Progressive Left, thus he rejects them and is going off on his own.

I hope it is not too late, for I am afraid that so many nuts have been imported into the country, and so many created by our Communistic higher education system that they now control the voting booth in the country.

We are close to what the Founding Fathers feared and created the Senate and Electoral College to prevent. That is domination of the country by a minority of states. It is happening, except is is not states only, it is domination by urban centers on the coasts.

Instead of the coasts threatening to leave, I think the flyover states should throw them out. The coastal areas are turning this country into Little Mexico, or maybe Little China. The object of immigration has changed from assimilation into the American culture into “kill the white man” and destroy the American way.

It may already too late, as the organizing bodies promoting the destruction of America are nearly in a majority position. The number one enemy dwells here already. Howard Shultz just repudiated them. If having politically viable females means they all turn into Progressive idiots, then we do not ever need a Ms. President.

    • Walter B February 1, 2019 at 11:04 am #

What the Founding Fathers did not foresee John, was the advent and implementation of technologies that would enable the “leadership”, once totally corrupted, to control, program and manipulate the impressionable public as effectively as they do today. When you look back at history, there is truly nothing new under the Sun, EXCEPT the technologies that exist today. These technologies are game changers, and while the hapless public may ooh and awe at the sight of the flashing lights and CGI images, there is great evil in them for they can be abused for control, total control. As long as technologies as they exist today are around there can be no freedom, and they will be around until the end, because no one can give them up, can they?

Once they get further along with blocking access to non-corporate-MSM info. on the Internet, we are going to enter a very dark period.

As jaded as I am, one thing that has truly shocked me over the past 2 years is the level of blatant propaganda and theater in the US MSM.

It’s spread to Europe (where I have been for 10 years) to some degree as well, but watching CNN or MSNBC, reading WaPo (with its new Orwellian tagline to boot), etc. evokes feelings of disbelief that I cannot put into words.

        Truly frightening stuff.

          @ Nightowl
Yes it is truly beyond frightening. Orwell’s predicted boot in the face is here. Albeit 35 years off its predicted arrival date.

          • Epicur February 1, 2019 at 2:21 pm #

I think we are at a bifurcation point. The boot in the face is a definite possibility, but there is the question of whether or not they can keep the people under control while they get the boot in place. The other possibility is war and mega-death until we get enough space for people to be “free”.

Even after population reduction different paths are possible.

          • Epicur February 1, 2019 at 2:28 pm #

BTW, I think “boot in the face” may be a bit coarse a metaphor for what may come. If it comes it will be more like an iron fist in a velvet glove – nice and comfortable for those who do not struggle.

          Nightowl, a couple of observations.

The MSM is bought and paid for. True journalism may have enjoyed a brief existence in the 1970s, but today Infotainment is the name of the game.

European media suffers many of the same defects. In some cases, they are owned by the same corporations that own American media firms. Same dysfunction, different continent. Not to mention that medieval laws concerning slander etc. provide the wealthy and powerful in Europe a huge hammer with which to wield against any upstart media firm that exposes too much information.

          [i]blatant propaganda[/i] … fully agree.

          Cheers

      • JohnAZ February 1, 2019 at 11:31 am #

Agreed, but the primary technology change that started the run for the cities was the invention of the internal combustion engine, ie tractor, which destroyed the farming labor pool.

Which, incidentally, caused a large part of the Great Depression. And by the way, the highest unemployment was in 1936, which meant that the New Deal was not “dealing” with the lack of job creation.

It took WW2 to finally put all those dislocated farmers to work.

I suspect we could cut national energy usage if we implemented the idea mentioned of counties voting on their technological needs and purposes. Free taxes up for smaller and more efficient purposes.

For example, it is a avenue for addressing 5G in localities not desiring it. With new technologies, there are always flaws and add.cost. and some people, myself included, are fine with 3G.

It might take three generations (or less+more) to make technological tiered communities optimal geographically. Nonetheless, I think it could allow for more personal and economical freedom. Surely downsides – the possible escalation of regional and national tribalism through group cohesion. The MSM and culture are already turning our brains into scramble eggs with their collectivism.

“What the Founding Fathers did not foresee John, was the advent and implementation of technologies that would enable the “leadership”, once totally corrupted, to control, program and manipulate the impressionable public as effectively as they do today.”

They certainly did not anticipate the technology, but the corruption was understood. One of the most terrible truths in this world is that people get the kind of government they deserve.

“[The Constitution] is likely to be well administered for a Course of Years, and can only end in Despotism as other Forms have done before it, when the People shall become corrupt as to need Despotic Government, being incapable of any other. . . .”
Ben Franklin’s speech read to the Congress urging the adoption of the Constitution.

Note that Franklin speaks of the corruption of the people who NEED Despotic Government.

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion… Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” – John Adams

With regard to the Adams quote, if one reads Hawthorne’s “Young Goodman Brown” one might argue that the Constitution was designed for a people who did not exist. But again, the focus is on the people, government grows out of them.

The Constitution worked (somewhat) as long as we were closer to Jefferson’s nation of yeomen. Today’s urban young people cannot even see that nation in the rear view mirror. We (collectively, historically) chose this when we chose to “grow” and become great.

the sight of the flashing lights and CGI images

        Walter and JohnAZ,

Ah yes, electronic technology, or is it rank distraction?

All this talk about progressives … it seems ironic that other than the chasing after bits and electronics, for what, almost 45 years now, I submit that we are not progressing, but only holding our ground.

At least, that is the case when one considers the state of mechanical innovation. Remember what airliners and automobiles looked like 45 years ago, and how fast they were able to travel? Consider how much has changed since then. Damn near the same.

Oh sure, there are electronic bells and whistles a-plenty in both aircraft and automobiles today. Yeah, I appreciate electronic ignition as much as anyone (at least until an EMP burst hits), but, if anything, I travel more slowly in a car these days because there seem to be so many more vehicles using the same old road infrastructure (goes for Europe as well, btw).

Know why the past’s vision of the future … flying cars and all that … never arrived? Because in the past, we were capable of envisioning mechanical innovation. The generations grown up today would rather stare at a smart phone than trigger a mechanical revolution like going from a horse drawn buggy to a Saturn rocket in a person’s lifespan.

Since those first Texas Instruments calculators with their red LED, squared-off digits and the wonder of Pong … we’ve been terribly distracted. No wonder the dysfunctional political class has done so well since then.

Given the state of mechanical non-progress, I wonder if we are in a precursor state of going to JHK’s “World made by Hand”. Why not? We aren’t improving our mechanical systems anymore, at least, not in terms of their basic performance. Perhaps it is time to return to horses and buggies, assuming enough people still have the skill to construct a durable buggy and know how to raise and handle horses.

        Cheers

I watched Ted Cruz give a (surprisingly eloquent) speech regarding the govt shutdown on YouTube this morning. He mentioned several times the senator from Colorado, Bennet, so I watched his speech, too. According to Bennet, in 2013 Democrats voted for 300+ miles of wall along the border. Also, a couple hundred billion for border security. Now he refers to it as a medieval wall (3 times early on).
After several minutes of, frankly, hard to bear bs, Bennet opens up and makes some good points and even says that the Senate is corrupt, etc. You can tell he’s riding the fence with constituency of 1/3 D,R,I. My point is that if we had a media serving its purpose for providing info for an informed citizenry (important), we could resolve many of these issues more easily. Bennet also mentions that the Chinese are gonna eat our lunch if we don’t get it together quickly.

News this AM is that the Feds are indicting companies for cheating the system to bring in Chinese women to have babies in the US for citizenship. Then the families will be allowed in, and wow the Chinese have families. Our own immigration laws are sowing the seeds of our destruction.

Expanding on a prior post, we should sell them California to pay off the National debt, and throw in Oregon and Washington for good measure. Might as well, they have been selling our technology to the Chinese for a couple of generations.

Don’t know how he comes down on Harris, but personally, she’s got all the charm and personality of a younger, more transparently avaricious HRC, so I’ll be surprised if she gets any traction beyond the early primaries. Obama largely crashed the market for young, photogenic, allegedly smart mulattoes for a generation or two, so her appeal to the minority communities she would allegedly represent is questionable at best as well. Not to mention her gratuitous public showboating about being tough on crime, smart, and all the rest.

    Hello Jim,

Well another clean-up the coffee from the keyboard morning here at the confluence of the Anacostia & Potomac – swirling with 2 inches of “global-warming” this fine day.

K-Dog are you an inmate in my old home gulag of the Abortionist Feminist Soviet of Seattle? Yep, as you can probably guess my perspective was NOT appreciated by the locals – who incidentally came from everywhere but THERE in the past three decades. And of course I wondered if my perspective was as warped as I was accused – until the Millennial generation spoke up:

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpbyOgUSjTSPpvVUAT2OyHw

    I’ve been laughing ever since.

Howie, is a promoter who fell in love with the Starbucks shop on the street where his Seattle relatives worked and offered the owner a buy-out, circa 1980. The owner was the son-in-law of the Northwest’s political king maker and Mr. Coffee – Howard Bargreen and said NO. Our Howie returned with a high 6-figure check the next year and said ‘franchise’ and the owner said OK.

Whether or not this qualifies Howie to be president is indecipherable to me – but as we all learned during the Jerry Ford reign – In America ANYBODY can be president!

MATH IS – is another proverb life has sometimes cruelly taught me. So, why not elect a Demonic-Marxist-Feminist female and let her snort the ashes of the collapse of +50 years of their Feminist Soviet.

    Carry-on, until you are carrion.

I think they just go by Feminist Soviet now. They want to eliminate any need for abortions so have dropped that agenda as unnecessary. In a land of no heterosexual sex who is to say they are wrong? If nobody can play the game nobody can break the rules can they. The long gray days don’t inspire passion so instead people get into fashion. But you have been here and you know.

    Kamala Harris ?
“So that when Kamala Harris does take her turn, and discovers the horrifying financial state of the union, the courts will obstruct her most ambitious schemes to strip the remaining assets from the land to keep America’s beater government running at all costs. That is, to turn the USA into a paradise of free everything.” JHK 01FEB19
    Takes her turn ?
    Really ?
That’s an obvious underestimation of the “facts on the ground”, and the previous three presidential elections. As much as I dislike the inclusion of racial demography into a conversation, the plain truth is that “people of European descent” are the ones who installed BHO as POTUS for both of his terms. Granted, the traditionally non-voting AA bloc came out in force for him, but the overall mass opinion ,everywhere but the big cities and metro areas, is siding more on the “uncle Ruckus” side of the fence; “no more n-word presidents.”
The Dems are finished, and an intact, obese, Trans-gendered mezzo-soprano is in the wings practicing its finale version of “Nessun Dorma”.
Watch for an expanded, and improved version of the Monroe Doctrine, coming soon to a hemisphere near you !

So, in your version Calaf is the tranny?

What if Turandot is the tranny instead, and Calaf has no idea?

Nevermind, your point is that it was white folks that got BHO elected.

And it was arguably those same constituencies that switched their votes to Trump once they figured that BHO was an empty suit at best, or his presidency a total con-job. Remember those infamous words, too big to jail, uttered by Eric Holder, which came to characterize BHO’s administration and which arguably added fuel to Trump’s election chances.

Are the Dems finished? We can only hope.

The Republicans are on their death-bed, their carcass still twitching, but it’s pretty much a done deal for which which we should be devoutly thankful.

I think it was Dick Durbin that said he’s working 24-7 for migrants. If Democrats talk enough like that, they’ll hand the election to Trump. Given the exigencies facing the USA, posturing about trannies, gays and migrants is the path to electoral oblivion.

The Democrats want to yammer on about social justice. But what IS social justice? I guess acceptance and recognition are fine and nice but are shout-outs or making cooing noises about identity and diversity enough? Oh and racial set-asides? I don’t know about you, but quotas look insulting, suggesting as they do that certain of us can’t do it on their own.

Maybe mundane topics sit under the radar of the bi-coastal non-precariat, or those who for their own reasons identify with them whether or not their own interests actually align, but my bet is that the path to victory is to talk about breakfast, lunch and dinner. The important societal fissures are economic, not ones of race or ethnicity or sexuality. It ought to be self-evident that for all their shouting about social justice, it’s just shouting, all noise, and the proof is the disastrous condition of so many people where SJW Democrats govern.

As to migrants, if the people coming illegally from south of the border were teachers and lawyers instead of semi-literate laborers, that wall would be two miles high by now with machine gun towers. If terror attacks killed American politicians and billionaires instead of ordinary people, the round-ups would be done by now, the deportations well underway. Tanks.

  20. Homeland Security Investigations have dropped the hammer on anchor multi-million dollar anchor baby factories in several states, The New York Times reports.

Apparently the leak has become a flood though, and after thousands of Chinese have successfully anchored 1000s of babies to elite and wealthy Chinese families, Similar operations are now at work creating Future Americans for similarly wealthy Russian and Middle Eastern customers.

The extent of the cancerous situation vis a vis immigration, for me, indicates that we cannot possibly fix this in a piecemeal fashion, and the the only solution is to impose a total immigration moratorium via the declaration of a National Security Emergency.

Have you read the Bible, my son? Any of it? Why not? You can’t understand Western Culture without it.

Taxes are meant for the general social good of the taxed. Thus a heavy grain tax was imposed to feed the people during the seven bad years to come as per Joseph’s dream. But instead of feeding the People, he profited off them by becoming a grain merchant, making them buy back their own gain that had been stored to feed them. In other words, he turned a Social Program or Socialism, into Capitalism for him and I assume, others among the Elite.

Howard Schultz is nothing but a craven opportunist.
    Like Bloomberg before him.

He’ll wear a D, an R, or an I if it gives him what he wants.

    His wealth with few strings.

A radical progressive by any definition, he draws the line at having to defend his lucre. Built off the sweat of impoverished growers and minimum wage baristas. His contribution to politics reduced to space on coffee cups and gun frees cafes.

It’s easy to have progressive ideas without having to pay.

    Eat your words m**********r

It’s great, isn’t it? All the masks are beginning to come off now. American “leadership,” if you can even call it that, is now openly and unabashedly craven and opportunistic in search of fame and fortune at the behest of the globalist elite they serve.

      • Epicur February 1, 2019 at 1:40 pm #

“…in search of fame and fortune…”

Fame is realistic, if Schultz thinks he will better his financial fortune this way he is a very stupid man.

LOL! GW “idealistic?” I’ve never heard anyone accuse him of that before.

          • Epicur February 1, 2019 at 4:52 pm #

Idealistic in a religious right kind of way. I seriously believe he invaded Iraq to try to head off Armageddon (the Ezekiel/Daniel version). When he said that if we did not act the world would drift towards catastrophe I think he was talking about that Gog, Magog, Kings of the north, etc..

            It’s a different mindset.

          • Ol' Scratch February 2, 2019 at 10:06 am #

Yeah, in his own simplistic way, I guess that’s right. I’ve just always found it hard to see beyond his basic moronicity. GW was mostly just a front man for the Dark Master Cheney, who as we all know now, currently runs this universe.

Maduro and the Threat of a new Cold War as Factors in the War of the Roses and in the Crisis of Diarchy in US

First of all, I want to say that, compared with NATO’s large-scale maneuvers near Russia’s borders, which, on the orders of General Breedlove, were to begin on June 22, 2015, all these Bolton notebooks with completely secret information on display are operetta or if you prefer, a musical.

    https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/john-bolton-notebook-troops-venezuela_us_5c4f8fcce4b0d9f9be6850e2

In theory, Bolton was supposed to perform a tap dance with this notebook and sing a choir song ala West Side Story about five thousand American soldiers sent to Colombia, after which one of these soldiers had to sing a duet with his gay husband about the terrible parting at the gate of the airbase before being sent off to Colombia.

I don’t understand how serious people can draw serious conclusions on the basis of such performances, but the fact remains that the conversation about the beginning of the Third World War in Venezuela occupied the front pages of major newspapers, including Russian.

Moreover, in this case, this nonsense is an amateur art performance, and not the execution of Hillary Clinton’s orders, who does not tolerate any talk about the Third World War because she wants to make it a surprise.

But the talk about a Russian plane at Caracas airport and Venezuelan gold as a base for foreign currency exchange is serious.

Venezuelan gold in its value is incomparable with Venezuelan oil, but it somehow resembles the Ukrainian Crimea, without which US doesn’t need Ukraine at all.

I will write more about this in more detail, but the fact is that the export of gold means not only the return of money invested by Igor Sechin in the Venezuelan oil production, but also the transition from threats of hot war to cold war.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Igor_Sechin

In general, I suppose that the Venezuelan adventure is an attempt to discredit, as a potential heir to Putin, the victorious leader of Rosneft, who turned out to be such a brilliant translator from Portuguese to Cuban in Angola, after which that apartheid in South Africa had somehow dissolved in the unknown direction.

But the most important thing is the transition from threats of a hot war, one of which is EURO-ABM System and a way out of the INF Treaty, to threats of a cold war.

During the first cold war, this difference was not so obvious, since the leadership of the Soviet Union did not understand that the Cold War could lead to the death of a nuclear superpower and believed that the threat of hot war was part of the Cold War.

Meanwhile, Russia’s military doctrine, which initially required a threat to the very existence of the state as a condition for a preventive nuclear strike, seemed to hint that the Russian leadership understands the difference.

And if you recall the hysteria that the Madam Secretary of State made about the new Russian military doctrine, shows that she understood that she was deliberately forced to guess whether the Russian leadership would not consider the color revolution in Moscow, which was in full swing then, as a threat to the very existence of the state.

And in order to complete this post, I want to draw your attention to the progress in the field of international relations and the strengthening of world peace, which are becoming obvious if you understand that in Caracas, plans A, B, and C are now being implemented which were developed for Moscow of 2011, as they said in the USSR in impotent rage, realizing that the chances of implementing this scenario in Moscow are rapidly approaching zero.

And you must admit that Juan Guaidó in Moscow is much more dangerous for the world peace than Guaidó in Caracas.

California isnt like it was in 1970 when Joni Mitchell sang, ‘California’

The study of 2017 based on a review of various mandatory financial disclosures (the debt cali couldn’t hide with various accounting tricks) showed them to be a staggering 1.4t in debt. given what they can hide (or defer) it is actually estimated to be considerably more.

and none of this takes into account the huge pile of money it will take to repair or replace cali’s crumbling infrastructure, etc, etc, etc. hell, the water system was designed for the 1960s.

i guess one can be happy in their belief that cali has a huge surplus, but when you are over 1.4 t in the hole, a few billion left over at the end of the year is really just chump change; beer money if you will.

hell, even the tech companies are bailing and moving to places like az and tx because ca is literally killing them. sorry. cali is in very serious trouble

Elizabeth Warren said it best “I’m tired of billionaires freeloading.” Amen to that baby. Trump brags about paying no taxes as “smart.” Freeloader extraordinaire. When income inequality reaches the levels it has, the government has to step in and redistribute. Yes I know you righties seem to think the mere mention of that word makes your eardrums melt into little pools of goo. Take heart. It won’t. All that will happen is that Gates, Bezos and company will have a smaller number next to their name in Forbes. That’s it. That’s the extent of the damage. Hold back your crocodile tears and cry not for Argentina. Taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor is a good thing when income inequality has surpassed the days of kings ans queens.

    • Ol' Scratch February 1, 2019 at 3:25 pm #

Ahh, but most Americans still believe that they too could be one of the hyper-rich, if only a break or two would come there way. Mix a little envy, a little greed, and a large amount of propaganda provided daily by our friendly MSM, and you’ve got a powerful motivator to maintain the status quo. Trump seems to have conclusively proven that thesis, as his core support base is almost entirely the lower classes who look up to him. Were Warren or Sanders to somehow win in 2020, which they won’t, they’d immediately be swept along by that same tide once in office.

      • Walter B February 1, 2019 at 4:23 pm #

But we are rich, Scratch. In fact I personally am the wealthiest man in the world and I’ll bet you didn’t even know that. How can that be you ask? It’s easy for no man can be blessed with more than I have my friend. I possess everything of true value that there is, I eat regularly, sleep in a warm, dry comfortable place, and I am surrounded by enough people that love me that it simply cannot be made to be better. I only wish that I could somehow convey the Truth of wealth and value to at least a few others. So many spend so much time and effort chasing things that in reality have little to no value.

“And others are sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, but the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things”.

Many of my immediately clan hailed from Missouri, so I guess I came by that famous “Show Me” attitude honestly, at least. Alas, every generation has to learn these things for themselves, and so it goes.

The Dick Cheney we all know and love so well:

“MCLEAN, VA—Nearly 13 years after shooting the prominent Texas attorney and political donor in the face, former Vice President Dick Cheney told reporters Tuesday he had finally hunted down Harry Whittington and killed him in cold blood. “Not a day’s gone by that I haven’t regretted my failure to take out that sonuvabitch on a hunting trip back in ’06, but old Dick can sleep easy now that he’s been down to Austin with a shotgun and finished the goddamn job,” said Cheney, who reportedly spent more than a decade painstakingly tracking every move of the 91-year-old before shooting off the deadbolt of his home, kicking in his bedroom door, and killing a sleeping Whittington point-blank in the night. “I prayed for the lead shot lodged in his heart to do him in right then and there. I also thought about sneaking into that motherfucker’s hospital room and blasting the other side of his face, but I knew the media would be all over it, so I just laid low and bided my time. Almost nailed him at an RNC event in 2011, but the bastard got away again. He couldn’t run forever, though, and last night, I put that slippery little shit down for good.” At press time, sources confirmed Cheney was having the man’s disembodied head mounted and hung over the mantelpiece in his Virginia home.”

I’m not familiar with the names of half of these people. Complete unknowns nationally.

I see this list so far and I can not take any of these people seriously. It’s essentially the political world’s version of an “open rehearsal call” for anybody off the street. There are no real serious actual leaders in the US at the moment with the exception (and I write this very grudgingly) of Donald Trump– because he is actually making tough decisions. So with that said, I don’t see any of these people being able to defeat him. They are all light weights.
But when you have a system where politicians have become nothing more then paid spokesmen for whatever multinational corporation they represent– who needs to be an actual leader?

Start with just one premise: That anyone running for president has to be either insane or a raving sociopath. If the candidates were a pack of playing cards, cutting the deck would always produce a joker. The democratic and republican parties are both alike – one is for socialism of the wealthy, and one is for socialism of the masses. Both are owned by the MICC and/or the deep state. So I’m not voting next year in the election, again. Does anyone with a lot of functioning brain cells really believe we’ll be better off with one candidate over another? Yeah, old P.T. sure had it right about suckers.

Me, I’ll start paying attention when there’s real discourse about things that count, like overpopulation, scary lack of water resources, energy strategy, soil erosion, climate change, unneccessary wars, fiscal responsibilty, etc., etc. There’s a better chance of apples falling upwards from trees than meaningful political discussions.

I’m just gonna sit out on my deck munching popcorn, laughing my ass off, and shaking my head at people’s stupidity.

    • elysianfield February 1, 2019 at 7:42 pm #

      Bill,
What is the value of “meaningful political discussion” in the face of “meaningful political dysfunction”?

      • beantownbill. February 1, 2019 at 8:43 pm #

We have “meaningless” political discussion, not meaningful political dysfunction. Or maybe I should say meaningless political dysfunction.

    • BackRowHeckler February 1, 2019 at 7:48 pm #

Bill, don’t expect any of the issues you mentioned above to be broached in 2020, or ever.

It will be all about identity politics, girl power, and free stuff.

I hear what you’re saying, Marlin, but we’ll have meaningful discussions (although not necessarily effective) when the Ogallala Aquifer dries up, the US population hits 600 million, oil is $25 a gallon if you find any, the outside temperatures are commonly 120 degrees or -40 degrees, the Midwest dust bowl causes a drastic lack of Cheetos and the US defaults on its debts. Oh, discussion will happen, but it will probably be too late.

If I wasn’t in my 70’s I’d emigrate – anywhere but some Stupidville. So I’ll stay here and last as long as I can and then go down fighting (not a bad way to die). Of course, we could always move forward towards a great future, but I wouldn’t bet all my marbles on it.

That stuff you mention, Bill, its a long way off. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Apparently, these IT assholes are always trying to brainwash and manipulate consumers into accepting their new exploitative products for profit. One common tact that they employ is “Fashion”. Occasionally, their efforts to manipulate fashion trends blow up in their faces. One example is the 2014 debacle of “Google Glasses” which was Google’s new strategy of expanding mass data collection from computers and mobile phones offline to, well, basically everything by getting idiots to wear the data collection technology. The goal is to create “Wearables” so that people become human walking data vacuums. Unfortunately for Google, people donning the new “Google Glasses” were quickly dubbed “Glassholes” and were refused entry into stores, etc. I guess that there’s hope, but the IT Glassholes will be relentlessly persistent, and they will never stop.

The goal is to put sensors everywhere and in everything including in animals and people to digitalize Reality. Eventually, the computer will be our environment all around us and even inside of us, our pets, and our family members, friends, co-workers, the cops, the IRS, etc.

    They’ve gone Insane.

“There are many buzzwords that gloss over these operations and their economic origins: “ambient computing,” “ubiquitous computing,” and the “internet of things” are but a few examples. For now I will refer to this whole complex more generally as the “apparatus.” Although the labels differ, they share a consistent vision: the everywhere, always-on instrumentation, datafication, connection, communication, and computation of all things, animate and inanimate, and all processes—natural, human, physiological, chemical, machine, administrative, vehicular, financial. Real-world activity is continuously rendered from phones, cars, streets, homes, shops, bodies, trees, buildings, airports, and cities back to the digital realm, where it finds new life as data ready for transformation into predictions, all of it filling the ever-expanding pages of the shadow text. 4

Gee, watching the fact that Mexico is sending more Federalis to Tijuana to stem the increasing violence there.

I wonder why Mexico cannot build a wall at their southern border which is much shorter than our border. And guess what? We would probably help pay for it to protect our border.

My belief is that this is the measure of how much contol the cartels have over the entire Western Hemisphere. Mexico and Venezuela are dominated by the cartels.

Think of the potential ramifications of what is happening here. Who are the cartels hooked into, who supports Maduro, Russia China and Cuba. Who is the ultimate anti-American force at play here. I have four potentials, Russia, China, Cuba, anti-Israel forces in the Middle East, and the New World Order.

It is interesting to note that these opposition forces know exactly how to destroy the USA.

Number one flood us with drugs, number two flood us with cheap labor, number three trivialize the value of human life, and number four support in all ways possible the political party in the US in the US that supports all these machinations, the Democrats and the other components of the Deep State.

Here is an idea, participants in the Deep State are members or subordinates of the cartels and their leaders. Sorta scary idea, huh?

Maybe that is why nobody does anything to counter their inroads into the US.

Idea for Trump. Get with the two other components of USMCA and declare war on the cartels. Pay to build a wall across Mexico’s southern border. Have the courage to counter all the liberal drug addicts out there. Make the tri-nation entity a no drug zone.

Uh-huh! Until it happens though, the US is going down.

    • beantownbill. February 1, 2019 at 11:20 pm #

It’s very simple in theory to end the cartels’ power – just legalize all drugs. But that’s just theory, because in reality no politicians would ever go that route. Still, it could be done easily if enough people had the balls.

      • JohnAZ February 2, 2019 at 12:34 am #

        Thinking about your statement.

I think legalization, a libertarian idea, would change the US from a gimme nation to a gimme more drugs nation. Food and drug stamps, what a concept.

Seriously, much more seriously, you are right, the Deep State will never outlaw drugs and put the cartels out of business. Why?

Deep State=Cartels. El Chapo is a scapegoat.

        • volodya February 2, 2019 at 9:29 am #

          John AZ: Deep State=Cartels.

As somebody who was born yesterday I can’t help but believe that there are no payoffs, nope, none and that there’s absolutely no collusion between the narco-trafficantes and – cough – US law enforcement that would facilitate the flow across the border. I mean, heaven forfend, even given the colossal cash flows, it beggars belief that civil authorities could be tempted because geez, that’s dirty money and the stuff they traffic is the societal equivalent of zyklon B for the underclass and there’s no way such fine upstanding people could be tempted to wet their beaks.

Sometimes you wonder how it is: are cartels the paramilitary arm of the Deep State? Or is the Deep State the bureaucratic arm of the cartels? Sometimes you don’t know who wags who.

          • Ol' Scratch February 2, 2019 at 12:21 pm #

Deep states need manufactured “enemies” to maintain their power, thus the need for cartels and ephemeral “terrorist organizations” who, despite ever increasing budgets and techno wizardry, can never quite be defeated. It’s all just a sophisticated RICO operation.

      • Walter B February 2, 2019 at 9:06 am #

In theory perhaps btb, but in reality no way because when the government gets involved in anything they always screw it up. Legalization will ALWAYS come with taxation, government regulation, and an expensive bureaucracy to oversee it and this dramatically increases the cost to the consumer. Consumers will always turn to the Black Market as a result and that marketplace can actually get bigger because of the additional users created by legalization.

Estrogen is not really a prerequisite for the oval office. If it were then Michelle [sic] would stand head and shoulders above the rest, and what huge shoulders they are. Enough to play linebacker in college according to some. Michael should run and become the first tranny president. I take it this falls in line with the democratic platform.

Although Kamala says all the right words it is quite obvious she is insincere. She is an accomplished actress and ought to have moved down the road to Hollywood. The platitudes and beatitudes uttered recall that other person of color who did not deliver with false hope.

The beauty of Michelle is that you get a twofer by voting for her. An ideal diversity candidate who supports the status quo, with the added bonus of a proven former president to stand by her until it’s time for the training wheels to come off. I can definitely understand why both the elites and the diversity schmucks would get behind her.

that said, the optics are best if she holds back and let all the pretenders punch themselves out in the fall 2019 preliminaries, before sweeping in as the “Aha!” candidate for the compulsories in the spring of 2020.

2020 is shaping up to be more of a beauty pageant than an actual presidential election. Hell, she could even take “Kama” on board as her Vice to gain maximum diversity/sex appeal, and still have the allure of BHO riding herd as “first man” too. Whatever else Kama offers up, she does fill out a power suit pretty well. Her scolding persona, which she’s becoming so well known for these days, is infinitely more attractive than HRC’s tired old schoolmarm schtick, which is basically the only arrow in the old gas bag’s quiver these days.

We seem to have a choice for public office.

One, someone who has enough money to finance their own campaigns. They are criticized for being too independent and the inability of the politicians of the Deep State to control them.

Two, someone that has to raise the money to run for office. They are beholden to so many people that their activity in office is like being in a straight jacket. No waves. Do not do anything. Line up with Caucasus and do not think for yourself. End result, do not think.

The Deep State leaders in DC love number two folks and hate number ones.

Number one, Donald Trump, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, JFK

Number two. Just about everyone else.

Every once in a while, a guy shows up that is so above the fray, neither type fits,

    Examples: Eisenhower, Reagan.,

Bolivar will not Endure the Two of Us

In the USSR, the key phrase of the story – “Bolivar will not endure the two of us” – became a saying, thanks to the comedy film by Leonid Gaidai “Business People” (1962), based on the stories of O. Henry.

Initially, the phrase meant that when choosing between profit and friendship, preference is given to profit.

Sovereign Bolivar is the main currency of Venezuela:

I have no fuck’n idea what’s going on in Venezuela. Why is it that the Americans seem to be taking so long to overthrow the Fucker and install another stooge? I read a book about the Nicaraguan Revolution in the 1980’s. Apparently, the original Samosa family dictator was originally put in power by the US because he was a used car salesman who spoke good colloquial English.

Who was the first South Vietnamese Catholic dictator, Diem, who was a Catholic who hated and oppressed Buddhists in a Buddhist country? I read that prior to being installed as the dictator of South Vietnam he was working as a janitor in Maryknoll Seminary in New Jersey.

Maduro is not Chavez and he has no popularity close to Chavez’s. If he had had Chavez’s popularity then in the vicinity of Caracas, a couple of Cuban divisions and a Tu-22M3M air regiment with anti-ship Kinzhal missile on board would have already been deployed.

Yes, and a couple of Su-35 and Su-27 squadrons with the Russian Khibiny jammers would not hurt. By the way, it is possible that they are already there, but if Maduro had Chavez’s popularity they would have been greeted with flowers and shown their arrival on TV. True, the opposition would then sit quietly like a mouse behind a broom.

You don’t need laws, rules, regulations, contracts, lawyers, etc., or even government when you’ve got AI with access to everyone’s data to monitor what they’re doing and to enforce behavior in real time. For example, if a bloke is driving badly, then the AI just automatically shuts down the car. If he’s behaving badly, then the AI just zaps him in the balls.

The car example is a good point. I seriously doubt we’ll get to widespread adoption of driverless cars any time soon, but surveilled driving is already possible, and will likely become ubiquitous as more and more cars take to the road and insurance companies’ liabilities mount. It is sold currently as a way to reduce rates, but it will gradually become the standard for getting insurance at all and then linked to law enforcement databases and control devices to enable absolute vehicle control. Needless to say, when that becomes the case, mysterious remote controlled “accidents” such as uncontrolled acceleration and brake system malfunctions could ne enabled too.

      • JohnAZ February 2, 2019 at 11:19 am #

        A probelem, maybe?

I have Ring and it does not work like it is advertised. It alarms the phone or the IPAD okay, but by the time it takes to bring up the video, the person is gone. The motion detector is too sensitive, recording anything including cars going by. Used to get hundreds of reports a day, a real pain in the neck. Sounds like a good idea on paper, but in practice not so much.

The problem with driverless is it is being oversold. The car guys want to sell a new technology for marketability. This is one time that the AI guys suck air. The instant multi input decision making required for quick response action needs the human brain and experience. Another problem is when you give AI the decision making responsibility, you are unprepared for the decision the computer makes. Think about how you anticipate the action going on around you while you are driving. The computer is real time to a fault.

The ad on TV showing the family coming to an abrupt stop when the driver is not paying attention to the truck in front of them is a good example. The commercial has them looking scared but otherwise intact. Reality is either the airbags fire off causing injury, or their musculature is torn by the deceleration forces. The AI car could cause its own brand of injuries.

Monitoring info to the driver is great. Radar or camera info fed continuously to the driver to give a zone of safety around the car is a wonderful gift of hi tech.

But giving a damn computer driver decision making capability is bad news.

How about boredom? Driving keeps you occupied making the trips seem faster. Being a perpetual passenger does not sound too exciting to me.

How about GPS? It has to be 100% accurate and real time updated to avoid accidents.

        It isn’t!

Looking at the news this AM, and I see this controversy over the democrat governor of Virginia, this fella named Northam.

Earlier this week, this guy made a defense of infanticide live on air. I think that made him a political liability for the democrats. However, instead of attacking his position of infanticide, some yearbook photo that has him in it from 1984 appears magically today in 2019– and now the SJW machine is in full gear in their tired culture war mode to get rid of the guy.

These controversies tell you a lot about where US culture is at. A sitting governor can defend infanticide, but a photo from 34 years ago gets him into ‘real’ trouble.

    This country is fucked.

      Just an observation

Noted this AM that the governor’s alma Mater is Virginia Military Academy.

VMI was and may still be a bastion of the Old South. Maybe not surprising that the Black and White photo was taken 34 years ago.

Again, I despise the arrogance of this SOB but,

Is it correct to kick him out for actions that were deemed okay 34 years ago without due process. Read up on ex post Facto, folks.

Virginia, if he disgusts you, impeach him. You voted him in!

The Law is whatever the Judges say it is. Thus we under Kritarchy. The Wiki:

Kritarchy, also called kritocracy or dikastocracy, is a system of rule by judges (Hebrew: ???????, shoftim) in the tribal confederacy of ancient Israel during the period of time described in the Book of Judges, following Joshua’s conquest of Canaan and prior to the united monarchy under Saul.[1]

Because it is a compound of the Greek words ??????, krites (“judge”) and ????, árkh? (“to rule”), its use has expanded to cover rule by judges in the modern sense as well, as in the case of Somalia, ruled by judges with the polycentric legal tradition of xeer,[2] and arguably the Islamic Courts Union[citation needed] and in the fictional regime of Mega-city One, the focus of setting for the Judge Dredd franchise.

JS: How does this square up with our traditions? It don’t. And that many of the Judges are Jews is just more fuel for the fire. But I admit Liberals of all persuasions are in on the Game.

Michael Hudson: Trump’s Brilliant Strategy to Dismember U.S. Dollar Hegemony

    https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2019/02/trumps-brilliant-strategy-to-dismember-u-s-dollar-hegemony.html

“The end of America’s unchallenged global economic dominance has arrived sooner than expected, thanks to the very same Neocons who gave the world the Iraq, Syria and the dirty wars in Latin America. Just as the Vietnam War drove the United States off gold by 1971, its sponsorship and funding of violent regime change wars against Venezuela and Syria – and threatening other countries with sanctions if they do not join this crusade – is now driving European and other nations to create their alternative financial institutions.

“This break has been building for quite some time, and was bound to occur. But who would have thought that Donald Trump would become the catalytic agent? No left-wing party, no socialist, anarchist or foreign nationalist leader anywhere in the world could have achieved what he is doing to break up the American Empire. The Deep State is reacting with shock at how this right-wing real estate grifter has been able to drive other countries to defend themselves by dismantling the U.S.-centered world order. To rub it in, he is using Bush and Reagan-era Neocon arsonists, John Bolton and now Elliott Abrams, to fan the flames in Venezuela. It is almost like a black political comedy. The world of international diplomacy is being turned inside-out. A world where there is no longer even a pretense that we might adhere to international norms, let alone laws or treaties.

“The Neocons who Trump has appointed are accomplishing what seemed unthinkable not long ago: Driving China and Russia together – the great nightmare of Henry Kissinger and Zbigniew Brzezinski. They also are driving Germany and other European countries into the Eurasian orbit, the ‘Heartland’ nightmare of Halford Mackinder a century ago.”

Huh. Turns out, even when you’re a master dealmaker: when you alienate long-time allies (as Trump has done with, oh, say, Angela Merkel), they decide it’s in their interest to start cooperating with your adversaries. Well, whaddya know.

    • elysianfield February 2, 2019 at 11:19 am #

      Elrond,
You had better be relieved that Trump is looking south, rather than north ….

      • Elrond Hubbard February 3, 2019 at 10:31 am #

Believe me, elysianfield, I agree wholeheartedly.

Since DJT has been in office, there is simply no upside for Canada to have dealings with USA — when we even have a choice in the matter, that is. That was true when Trump used us as a scapegoat-slash-punching bag to sell his trade policy to his base. And it was true when Canada honoured your government’s request to detain Meng Wanzhou, a high-ranking Huawei executive, while she was passing through Vancouver for extradition to the U.S..

Has anyone here even heard about that latter case? We sure have — China has been dumping shit on our heads by the tonne ever since, not to mention detaining Canadian citizens including the arbitrary re-sentencing of one Canadian convicted of drug crimes to death. (Is he guilty? Since China has a 99% conviction rate, it kinda doesn’t matter, really.)

    • JohnAZ February 2, 2019 at 12:02 pm #

In respond to your Conservative and Trump statements,

      Good!

Why do you feel entitled to have the world, including Canada, be on the USA tit for everything? Why do you feel that the US should just bend over when the rest of the world reneges on its obligation? The entire world seems to think the USA is the biggest sucker in human history. The world is so full of the gimme attitude it is sickening.

Anything Trump does to promote America First is a good thing. The rest of the world better sign up to the AF program or get left behind. Right now they are counting on Trump being defeated in 2020 for a nut so leftist to start kowtowing again. Hopefully, that will not happen

      • Elrond Hubbard February 3, 2019 at 11:00 am #

I see quite a spectrum of responses to this posting, but yours, JohnAZ, is distinguished by its combination of egotism and cluelessness. I don’t suppose you actually clicked through and read the article, did you?

Here’s the upshot: Having Europe, Japan, Canada, and other NATO allies relying on the USA to meet their defense needs is good for the USA. Keeping them dependent on you gives you leverage, which helps you get your way in the world. Otherwise… and follow this part closely, now… places like Europe and Japan are potential rivals. Crazy, right? But it’s true!

For a short time after WWII, the USA was actually in a strong enough position that it could have acted in exactly the bullying way you describe. But even then, they knew it couldn’t last forever. That’s why the USA was the driving force in setting up international institutions including the United Nations, the World Bank, the IMF, and NATO. All those institutions were designed to prevent the USA’s existing advantages from slipping away. The USA has always had complete freedom to either use them when it finds them useful, or ignore them when they’re not. You seem to have no idea that this is how things work.

In particular, having the dollar as the reserve currency means it’s the one currency everyone needs to settle their contracts. Therefore, there is always demand for dollars, which is a powerful counter to inflation. The U.S. dollar holds its value no matter how far out on the fiscal limb the country goes, so you get to eat your cake and have it too. Never mind that it’s ultimately unsustainable; in the long run, everything is unsustainable. The question is: who, except a fool, would willingly give up their key advantage? Who, except a dimwit, would so alienate their own allies that they stop cooperating with the mechanisms that underpin everything else?

Trump isn’t the only problem; he’s just the biggest boob in sight. America really has lost the plot, and as I see it, that’s because people who talk and think like you do are running the show.

      https://foreignpolicy.com/2009/10/07/debunking-the-dumping-the-dollar-conspiracy/

…and has been progressing further every year. BRICS started in 2003..

      https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/brics.asp

…the aim of which has always been the replacement of the USD, and Russia and China were getting together even then. If your point is that DJT will bring about the completion of this agenda, I would counter that it was long in the tooth and President Trump did nothing to stop it for sure, but accelerate it? I would think it more likely that it is accelerating simply because it has gained momentum, a quickening at the end. Endless Wars for Profit have certainly not made US Anybody’s friend, that is for sure.

      • Elrond Hubbard February 3, 2019 at 11:05 am #

I certainly agree with your last point, Walter B. I’m pretty sure other countries have long wanted to undo the USA’s dollar advantage. But we now seem to be at the point in history where they’re getting traction.

The real point is, the people making decisions in the USA seem to have forgotten how things got to be this way in the first place. They’re no longer astute enough to recognize they shouldn’t make certain moves, because that ends up sawing off the branch they’re sitting on.

    • BackRowHeckler February 2, 2019 at 12:58 pm #

Hey Elrond start worrying about your own national defense instead of relying on us. You have plenty of Muslims, Chinese and Africans in Canada now to organize your own ragtag army. I don’t know how loyal they’ll be. Sure they like getting a welfare check and free medical care but when you come down to it what do they care about you Canucks. Canada is a plum to be picked; China has already taken Toronto and Vancouver; they’ll have you hosers eating dogmeat and brown rice before your PM can change into his Mao jacket.

Your observation about the Muslim rep. above made me think:

Why is it that out of all the new Reps. we have in the House due to the turnover in the Midterms, the only ones that get coverage by the press are the extremists and the nuts. You elect a Palestinian Muslim the the House and surprise, Israel is a bad guy.. okay, noted! Next story.

Oh no! Over and over and over. AOC is the paramount example.

The media is attracted to nuts because they, the media, are nuts.

Our MSM is the most powerful propaganda machine ever invented by mankind, and almost totally aimed Left.

    Speaking of which:

Russia is being criticized for having the audacity of trolling social media during 2016 to influence events in the US.

Any one remember Radio Free Europe? Same thing, different media. Our culpability is obvious.

The Deep State and their mouthpiece the media are going to be the death of this country. Their entire agenda is to convince us, the public, that things are just hunky Dorey, and just follow the DC idiots into nirvana.

A civil war is necessary to rid ourselves of these nemeses. How it is fought will be interesting?

    • BackRowHeckler February 2, 2019 at 1:35 pm #

    Pucker and Ol Scratch

If you’ve done nothing wrong you’ve got nothing to worry about, that’s what the surveillors say. The problem of course is that the definition of “wrong” changes over time, and given that on-line utterances can be stored over the long-term, what you say now that looks just fine and dandy may not look so in ten years, particularly to a regime determined to quash its enemies. Or do round ups of people guilty of speech crimes. Or thought crimes.

Can’t happen? Oh, yes it can, the world has seen totalitarian regimes that covered large sections of the globe. Can’t happen here? Oh yes it can, just look at what’s festering on campuses. We have elections? Sure we do but remember that good ole Adolf was also elected, by what was at the time a liberal democracy. A regime that approves of you and what you say today can be replaced by one that takes a dim view.

Bad ideas travel fast. The Chinese are putting in place what they call a Social Credit System that analyses on-line posts and public behavior by all of its citizens and then, by means of algorithms, awards a score out of 800 as to the citizens “trustworthiness”. This score will be used of course and can affect the individual’s life chances.

On the one hand it can be used to penalize unruly behavior, for example, of someone who takes someone’s assigned seat on a train or plane or who acts obnoxiously in a hospital.

Alternatively, it can be used against people who speak out of turn, who annoy people in high places, who get too strident, for example, about defending the interests of rural folk against connected property developers.

“Blacklists” anyone? The little Miss Bossy-Boots undergrad who castigates people for what she deems unacceptably “unwoke”, may one day find herself in a policy-making position when she’s older, and may find this Chinese Social Credit System just a wonder of hands-off automation for regulation of personal behavior.

Young uns currently scoff at the idea of privacy, but when the surveillance state becomes really buttinsky and starts to put limits on them for what they’ve said on-line, they may once again find the benefits of NOT having been spied on and judged. People don’t learn from history. Well, they get to re-learn the lessons, the hard way.

Having JHK blog to vent spleens is a God send. Being able to blow off anger is a wonderful right of this country, and may be a wonderful stabilization item.

When the government comes in and removes the right of free speech and privacy from the public, blogs like this will be illegal. Communistic Government cannot tolerate critical heat.

That is one item I hope all of us thinks is worth fighting for!

Gee, volodya, I’ve spent my life being a Boy Scout. I should have nothing to worry about, but even Boy Scouts are disliked these days!

Arbitrary criminalization of one’s past activities sounds like quite the deal for The State. I’m regretting less and less that I’m in the final quarter or so of the roads I’ll walk.

Big event at the Capitol yesterday: girls being sworn into the Boy Scouts. It was a front page story. They even trotted out this weeks ‘oppressed minority’, teenage girls who identify as boys, get boys haircuts and dress as boys etc. I don’t know how this will affect the Girl Scouts. It wasn’t mentioned in the article.

The Girl Scouts begged them no to do this. They hate the Competition. They’ve been full on gung ho for Leftism and Lesbianism for a long time. But it’s hard to beat the transgression (the essence of all this) involved in bringing down the Boy Scouts. Add to that the tranny factor and boom, they may be in trouble.

Of course boys are leaving the “Boy Scouts” in droves, but nobody cares about that. The optics are All!

          • BackRowHeckler February 2, 2019 at 1:29 pm #

In other words even innocent activities and organizations like girl scouts and boy scouts have been politicized, undermined, subverted, and spoiled by organized queers and cultural marxists, who seem to ruin everything they touch.

And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward. –Solzhenitsyn

That’s a great Solzenitsyn quote. When ‘Man of the 20th century’ was being discussed he was my 2nd choice, after Churchill.

‘Axes, hammers and pokers’ seem kind of quaint, deplorables out in dirt country in 21st century USA will be able to do better than that.

Also, Revillo, no NKVD like organizations exist here to conduct raids and arrest and execute people in large numbers. Of course that can change and we can already see in Antifa the seeds of a nascent Democratic Party police organization. Agree about antifa and the decency of rural Americans who are spat upon 24-7 by coastal elites. Churchill is up there, but I’m not convinced his legacy is a positive one. Hitler admired Britain and desperately tried to prevent war despite Churchill’s bellicosity. I think that may be the most misunderstood fact of WW2. Hitler allowed the Brits to escape at Dunkirk as a sporting gesture, and even sent Rudolph Hess on a secret mission to Britain to negotiate peace. He was captured and thrown in prison for life. Meanwhile, Churchill and FDR were kissing Stalin’s ass. Now Bolshevism is on our doorstep.

          • Janos Skorenzy February 2, 2019 at 2:43 pm #

I told BRH to read Pat Buchanan’s book, “The Unnecessary War” that delineates this and much of the rest of it, but I’m not sure he ever did. He is a hard case, thinks that Hitler was taking order from the Mufti.

BRH! Pat concluded, Yes Churchill was a great Man, but at the expense of Britain’s greatness. To his credit, he tried to stop the massive colored immigration that was immediately begun after the so called victory. But he was thrown aside like a tool no longer needed. The Superior Man is not an instrument as Confucius said. He let himself be used by those who cannot be named and thus he was discarded when no longer needed or useful.

I have a couple of questions in my mind when I read tripe like this. First I wonder where you get your information from, but that’s probably fairly easy to work out.

Then I think, here I am on a site full of people with bags of historical knowledge and no-one is bothering to correct this tripe. Now why is that? It can’t be that I’m the only person on here who’s known since childhood (literally, since my parents lived through the war and, you know, talked about it) that Hess went to meet the Duke of Hamilton entirely off his own bat and that when Hitler found out he was incandescent.

So, revilo, why would you make this nonsense up? Or do you just believe any old drivel spewed on Nazi-sympathising websites?

I have family-in-law lost and never found after Dunkirk. Which is another reason why people like you get my goat.

I read the first volume of The Gulag Archipelago when I was 18. I don’t recall anything about Rudolph Hess or Dunkirk, but maybe that came later.

Came across a great review of your ‘Villainy’ book:

“This fairy tale book pretty much regurgitates everything that people from far-right extremist internet forums like stormfront… genuinely believe in.

The book is factually wrong on so many levels that anyone who has received anything higher than a middle school education will start laughing hysterically at the kind of claptrap this book desperately tries to pass off as “facts”.

Did I say my knowledge of WWII came from my parents? No, silly boy. But I’m not surprised at the level of your deductive skills. However, when your parents have just lived through it, and talk about it, it becomes part of your inherited family history and you take an interest. And READ. And watch. And pay attention to the testimonies and who’s giving them. Nuremberg trials onwards. Same when your husband’s uncle was lost at Dunkirk, your father-in-law escaped from a Nazi prison camp in Poland and you stay regularly near the village in the Vercors where the Nazis murdered civilian men, women and children simply because some folks in the area had a makeshift hospital in a cave nearby. Oh, they gunned down the patients and those taking care of them as well. Natch. You might say it creates a lifelong interest and a visceral hope that we don’t go there again.

            Alba,

More “settled science”? Over the years I have read probably a dozen accounts of the incident. Reasons are still being parsed as why the Wehrmacht, with it’s Panzer divisions, did not destroy the surrounded troops. I was not there…nor were you…and I am not laughing at any account or possibility. The only reason of which I have not heard is that Hitler was “sporting”….

I do believe that Hitler, after subduing the continent, wanted an end, perhaps temporarily, with the conflict with Britain…with whom he had an affinity.

Am I to be considered a Nazi now? Oh my….

“Am I to be considered a Nazi now? Oh my….”

EF, I think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself there, in terms of reasoning. Straw man stuff.

Our views do not often converge, but I have never considered you a neo-Nazi or described you as one, whereas our Mr Skorenzy is a proud one. Even suggesting, as you did, that the Nazis might not be all bad if they loved their own children (or were kind to dogs?) doesn’t make you a neo-Nazi, although most people would not go there.

You have to do more than have a mistaken belief that Hitler sent Hess to Scotland to talk peace with the not-at-all-peace-inclined Duke of Hamilton. You have to soak yourself deliberately in the kind of sources that desperately want you to believe that Hitler and his henchmen were much misunderstood good guys. And that still wouldn’t quite take you there. I leave the rest to you, since you are a very intelligent person.

And what made the Nazis evil on an industrial scale was not anything they did or did not do British servicemen and women anyway.

I have now read the Smithsonian article for a second time. I have also read the Spiegel Online article to which it linked.

I can only repeat that I do not see *evidence* to justify revilo’s unequivocal assertion that Hitler sent Hess to Germany. The balance of evidence is entirely on the other side.

I’m surprised that you would want to refer anyone to our previous exchange, which shows nothing more clearly than your taste for gaslighting and your use of straw men to try to win an argument.

And I have no evidence to suggest you are a neo-Nazi, which is why I have not accused you of being one. I certainly don’t think elysianfield is, as you know. But as I said, you are very partial to straw men.

Janos, however, is one, and very proudly so.

Looking back, I did joke about you and the other two ‘stormtroopers’ in uniform, because the three-pronged attack was amusing. But I’ll take that one back, with apologies, as far as you are concerned. Q-Shtik thinks revilo is Janos – I’m not at all convinced. But of the three of you I still wouldn’t consider anything you’ve said makes you remotely a neo-Nazi, even while I find your claims that neo-Nazism isn’t clearly growing to be strange.

“The balance of evidence is entirely on the other side.”

And that’s not a very good sentence, so I’ll delete the ‘entirely’. The balance of evidence still remains on the other side (that Hitler didn’t send him), leaving aside any musings about conspiracy between Hess himself and ‘the English’, although the British did know he was coming, having intercepted Haushofer’s letter.

Its the Lutherans who brought the masses of Somalis into Minnesota.

      Has anybody held them accountable?

They don’t even read their own Founder very much anymore – and thus miss such “divine” teaching as above. They even miss the good stuff such as his “The Jews and Their Lies” – the won’t even publish it, such moral prigs are they.

      • PeteAtomic February 3, 2019 at 12:01 pm #

well the Somalis constitute 1% of the population here, most residing in one neighborhood in Minneapolis.
Less Somalis since Trump has assumed the Presidency, with thousands of them leaving for Elrondia in the last couple of years, and apparently as where the majority of Somalis in Minnesota want to end up.

I’m in full support of the state buying snow shoes for every one of them for their journey to Elrondia.

The Somalis in Lewiston Maine have learned to wear pants and shoes, and are most decidedly staying.

Maduro, Bushes, Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and the Threat of a new Cold War through the prism of the theory of Colored World Projects

This post is a continuation of http://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/enter-stage-center/#comment-394652

The circumstances are such that I would have to move away from the table of contents, since today’s events not only confirmed my hypotheses expressed in the above post, but also shed new light on the circumstances of the Big Bargain.

I already wrote that the events in Venezuela are directly related to the American Civil War and the World War of the Roses.

Unfortunately, the official media are so full of it that their victims no longer understand what I write when they read my posts – which is especially true to the inhabitants of certain planet of Oz.

Therefore, I remind you that the color world projects were formed during the War of Roses in England and the red color corresponds to the red rose of Lancaster, the white to the white rose of York, and the black to the clothes of the agents of Valois.

More in the title post, but here I want to note that the social reforms of Chavez and Maduro are a Red World Project in a chemically pure form, Putin’s Russia supports it as a White World Project, and the United States acts as supporters of the Black World Project or black in white polka dots in this conflict to the fact that from the philosophical point of view Trump himself is Red as the ancestors of the Red World Project Arnold of Brescia and his teacher Pierre Abelard.

Indeed, the essence of the reforms of Chavez and Maduro is that before them indigenous population of one of the richest countries in the world – Venezuela – lived in poverty, while all senior positions in the money-generating oil industry were occupied by foreigners and the comprador bourgeoisie, who successfully transferred the aforementioned big money to other countries, mainly to Europe and the USA, where the main oil exports went as well.

Understanding the instability of this situation, oil refineries were built on the Trinidad and Tobago, which is an independent state, and all this was established under President George H. W. Bush.

But when the power in the United States in 1992 was seized by Hillary Clinton, the situation worsened, Colonel Chavez staged a rebellion, which landed him in jail, and in 1998, in the presidential chair. He nationalized oil companies and sent oil revenues to education and social assistance to the broad masses of the population, and this policy was continued by his successor Nicolas Maduro.

As you can see, this story reflects the history of post-Soviet Russia as if in a mirror, to the extent that the nationalization in Venezuela very much resembles the Yukos case, and this similarity is not accidental, since the coming to power of Colonel Chavez is not directly, but connected with the coming to power of Putin.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yukos

Meanwhile, the United States launched economic sanctions on Venezuela and brought the comprador bourgeoisie to the streets, just as they brought it to the streets of Moscow in 2011.

While oil was $140 a barrel, it did not work well, and just like Kurginyan in Moscow, Chavez and Maduro brought the broad masses of people to the streets and the comprador bourgeoisie, who for some reason imagined themselves intelligentsia, ran away with a squeal, hiding its tail between the legs. (Both in Moscow and Caracas).

    To be continued…

Now they think that AI is gonna be “Super Dooper” because it will “Guarentee” human behavior so that consumer behavior, sales, and revenue can be “Guaranteed”. Insurance companies can monitor the behavior of drivers in real time and their behavior can be corrected in real time. If you accidentally piss on the seat, then the sensors in the toilet seat will link up with your Google headset to tell your to wipe it up. If some bloke farts in the car next to you at the stop light, then you’ll know what he had for breakfast. It’s absolute, complete absurd nonsense.

Reverend Jim Jones one minute rants about religion as the “Opiate of the Masses” and that Socialism is the new god, and then the next minute does Faith Healing. The mostly black congregation (intermixed with white college girls) shouts “Amen” and “Praise the Lord”. Nobody calls Reverend Jones out on his blatant nonsense.

    Politicians spewing Nonsense….

The second girl who gives a testimony ( the skinny homely white college girl) about one of Reverend Jones’s miracles talks about riding in Jim Jones’ bus to Philadelphia. According to a book that I read about Reverend Jones and The People’s Temple, Reverend Jones had his tour bus specially decked out with his own private compartment replete with grain alcohol and a bed. I think that it was Debbie Blakey who described how Reverend Jones called her into his compartment and boned her doggy style with his big knob with alcohol on his breath while he muttered to her that he was doing it for her and to help her. Go Greyhound!

It looks like the 2nd girl (the white girl) in the People’s Temple Sermon video is indeed Debbie Layton Blakely, the girl who in her book recounts how Reverend Jones used to bone her in his tour bus with alcohol on his breath. Small World….

      https://www.greensburgdailynews.com/news/local_news/jonestown-survivor-tells-cautionary-tale-of-history/article_59e3a2a6-a34b-5c25-bb4c-30de21e43e7e.html

Devon Stack says that there seems to be a large segment of the US population that supports sexualizing little boys into girls and the right to abort babies at birth and other changes. Coupled with the Surveillance Capitalism lunacy, I wonder if a large swath of the US population is going People’s Temple Bat-Shit crazy?

      • Pucker February 2, 2019 at 11:24 pm #

In Reverend Jones’ eyes, Debbie would have appeared like a young virgin belly dancing before Reverend Jones, the Sultan as he ate figs and olives in his tent beneath the shade palms at a desert oasis.

Maduro, Bushes, Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and the Threat of a new Cold War through the prism of the theory of Colored World Projects

Naturally, the “world community”, led by the United States, did not like it, and they launched economic sanctions on Venezuela, and then brought the comprador bourgeoisie to the streets, just as they brought them to the streets of Moscow in 2011.

While oil was at $140 per barrel, it did not work well, and just like Kurginyan in Moscow, Chavez and Maduro brought the broad masses of people to the streets, and the comprador bourgeoisie, who somehow imagined themselves intelligentsia, ran away with a squeal, hiding its tail between their legs. (Both in Moscow and Caracas).

But when oil prices fell, social assistance at market prices ceased to be enough, the national currency of the bolivar collapsed, and most of the population switched to cards, and the effect of the sanctions was declared the result of Maduro’s incompetence (just as Putin was accused of lacking Parmesan and special Italian ham in Russia)

The situation was aggravated by the fact that Venezuelan oil as well as oil from Russian Samotlor is very heavy and in order to transfer it to refineries of Trinidad-Tobago, it must be diluted with lighter Saudi oil that pollutes it with sulfur, and this sulfur European plants that were built to refine very clean Libyan oil could not process, and factories in the United States, by virtue of sanctions, stopped accepting oil from Venezuela.

Meanwhile, Venezuelan oil as well as Libyan oil is ideal for petrol chemistry and the production of rocket and jet fuel for aviation. So all this disgrace, including the explosions at the Royal Dutch Shell refineries nationalized by Chávez, is Boeing’s trump card in a cheat game with Airbus, but this party collapsed when in 2010 a significant part of the “PDVSA” Venezuelan oil company was bought by Russian Rosneft and Venezuelan oil through the port of Odessa by rail and the Odessa-Brody pipeline began to flow to the Mozyr Oil Refinery in Belarus.

Aviation fuel for Airbus began to fill up the Venezuelan treasury, which Chavez and Maduro, following Putin, began to use to buy gold, with these actions putting the global financial system into jeopardy.

It is not surprising that Chavez and Gaddafi soon died, and Yanukovich, who sponsored this project in Ukraine, moved from Kiev to Rostov.

But Man proposes, but God disposes, and Hillary Clinton, who prepared the new world order so well, which can be easily seen behind these events from the Arab spring to mass oncology cases with Latin American presidents, did not become the president of the United States, and the Crimea, where the Chinese Clintonoids were going to build a deep-water port, went to its native harbor, Assad did not give up, and Chavez in Venezuela prepared a successor for himself by the name of Maduro.

And I have repeatedly drawn the attention of my readers to the fact that the key to understanding these events that occurred in various parts of the world, stretching from Caracas to Tripoli, is hidden in the history of the 2012 US presidential election.

And I will definitely write about it, but in the next post.

Reverend Jones used to perform Faith Healings during his sermons. After the laying on of hands by Reverend Jones, the sick and afflicted believer would go to the rest room and emerge with a small raw chicken part claiming that it came out. Then the congregation would start shouting and speaking in tongues as Reverend Jones extolled the glories of Chairman Mao and Socialism. Now they are talking about colonies on Mars, driving solar cars to WalMart, all funded by a 90% tax on the Rich….

They’re hero-worshippy types, but they have really poor taste in heroes.

Early on, when I first took an interest in peak oil and such, and well before this site became a neo-Nazi magnet, I noted, in my own country, that while nobody with any influence seemed to take any interest in the issue, one bunch did. Guess who? The now defunct British National Party and their dickhead leader Nigel Griffiths. Why? Because peak oil promised social chaos and when law and order break down and social chaos happens, the psychopaths see an opportunity. So, yes, the BNP took it very, very seriously.

The greatest disappearing act since David Copperfield May be coming to the US in 2021.

Elect one of the crazy Lefties into the Presidency and both houses of Congress go Democrat.

The capital pool of the US has grown considerably since Trump took over the reins. The Elite, especially the mainstream Dems are going to run for the hills of the Cayman Islands and Switzerland, and pulling capital out of the US like they were during the end of the Obama years.

Look at the V.A. medical coverage. The long waiting times are because of the limited amount of doctors and nurses to deal with patients. A good preview of what Medicare for all is going to look like.
Long wait times for everything except emergent care.

And then free college for everyone? Imagine the US with 1/2 of the colleges and universities going bankrupt due to insufficient funds.

Not only will the capital base start to disappear, but the common sense of the country will decline lots too.

A good question is, where are the elite going to go?

  66. The market for human fetal tissues is microscopic. Literally.

But, thinking about it, I see no reason not to price it.

As it is, its only good for research purposes. Currently research laboratories purchase extremely small amounts of it. There are no industrial uses for it and no cures dependent on it. There is no shortage of supply.

On the other hand it provides various kinds of information that for obvious reasons cannot be obtained anywhere else.

You see, fetal tissue isn’t any different from medical cadavers. The only difference is the sentimental view of it as special. It is not. It is just a piece of meat.

Where it is illegal, you’ll find a GINI coefficient much lower than first world standards. Places where primary scientific research isn’t funded. Eg., the Illegality of fetal tissue harvesting is a political marker of degeneracy in a country’s political economy. That is its value to the Economics.

Its value to the market is nil; there are no cures or treatments suing fetal tissue. Payments for fetal tissues, in total, are more or less symbolic, probably under $1 million annually.

Illegal markets for quack cures may exist. I wouldn’t put anything past Chinese or Asian quack medicine modalities. In those cases though customers are probably buying pig as much as human material. If your customers are idiots, and the effects are placebo, why go through the trouble?

HRC will be the Queenmaker, but never the Queen. Most of these creeps will wash out long before the bullets really start flying, but Mitt might just come off looking presidential after the dust finally settles. Just depends on who gets on board his train. I still think a Michelle/Kama or Kama/Michelle ticket would make the Dems wet themselves, but I think they’d generate epic opposition among the hoi polloi that would once again spell defeat. Romney would likely latch onto the idiot Rubio or perhaps George P. Bush to attract the Hispanic vote, and in the latter case, to match the Dems’ Kama for youthful sex appeal.

I think the old school idea that gravitas and competency are a determining factors in presidential elections is starting to fade in the face of the now pervasive youth oriented media blitz. More and more its simply a popularity contest based on pithy sound bytes and conspicuous lifestyle factors. In that light, yes, Romney’s old and white – big negatives – but he’s also thin and relatively photogenic for his age, he’s unapologetically rich and likes to brag on that fact, he’s articulate, he’s “moral” based on his ties to the Morman church, and he’s definitely family oriented with his huge brood. He’d have to keep his mouth shut on dissing the gays, the trannies, and that entire mess, but a good political handler might be able to keep him relentlessly on message and avoid that quagmire.

Meanwhile, the Dems will continue to fracture based on the fact that they’re less a coalition, and more a grab bag of narrowly defined special interests. They’ll continue to run against Trump with their patronizing condescending rhetoric, rather than for anything in particular, and their marginal supporters will once again desert them when it comes to crunch time in favor of whoever and whatever else is out there. As long as Romney doesn’t do or say something ridiculously embarrassing or get caught up in some manufactured outrage due to the #metoo freaks, he should come out of it the last man standing.

Chris Christie has written a book called “Let Me Finish”. Watched him on tv and he talked about his months of work on the Trump transition team with about 140 people. Had the cabinet and staff positions all worked out and vetted.

Then the Bannon bombshell. Chris was out, and out went all his work. A stunned Christie said something like WTF, and Bannon said talk to the “kid”. Meaning Jared. Jared had already intruded on a Christie-Trump meeting, telling Trump Christie couldn’t be trusted, that he was a slime ball for prosecuting his father, etc. No matter that his father pled guilty.

Another family as greedy and crooked as the Trumps. As far as I can tell, Jared may be the person most responsible for the disastrous Trump transition. What kind of power does this guy have?

How many times do the media have to retract what they have reported about Trump or the GOP before people are going to realize what a con job they are witnessing.

Or has the population become demographically so loaded with legal and illegal, yes they vote, immigrants and products of the college Communist factory, that the idea of an individual responsibility country is gone. I am very afraid of that.

And why does the Left have to be so violent in speech, deed and thought? They seem to have no scruples at all. Why do they feel they have the right to act like they do?

Well, as far as Smollet goes, what likely happened … he was ‘in de club’ when he spotted a coupla ‘Brothas’ who he thought swyng the heavy lumber, but they didn’t swing his way and when he propositioned them they ended up kicking the sh-t out of him. The noose and the bleach were added later, probably from the prop department at Fox.

Digital exchange loses $137 million as founder takes passwords to the grave
QuadrigaCX survivors try to hack encrypted laptop in hopes of accessing cold wallet.

    https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2019/02/digital-exchange-loses-137-million-as-founder-takes-passwords-to-the-grave/

“A cryptocurrency exchange in Canada has lost control of at least $137 million of its customers’ assets following the sudden death of its founder, who was the only person known to have access the the offline wallet that stored the digital coins. British Columbia-based QuadrigaCX is unable to access most or all of another $53 million because it’s tied up in disputes with third parties.

“The dramatic misstep was reported in a sworn affidavit that was obtained by CoinDesk. The affidavit was filed Thursday by Jennifer Robertson, widow of QuadrigaCX’s sole director and officer Gerry Cotten. Robertson testified that Cotten died of Crohn’s disease in India in December at the age of 30.

“Following standard security practices by many holders of cryptocurrency, QuadrigaCX stored the vast majority of its cryptocurrency holdings in a “cold wallet,” meaning a digital wallet that wasn’t connected to the Internet. The measure is designed to prevent hacks that regularly drain hot wallets of millions of dollars…

“Thursday’s court filing, however, demonstrates that cold wallets are by no means a surefire way to secure digital coins. Robertson testified that Cotten stored the cold wallet on an encrypted laptop that only he could decrypt. Based on company records, she said the cold wallet stored $180 million in Canadian dollars ($137 million in US dollars), all of which is currently inaccessible to QuadrigaCX and more than 100,000 customers.”

    Easy come, easy go.

Good post. It is always wise to keep in mind the old adage that possession is 9/10ths of the law, a bit of wisdom that applies to all aspects of our human existence. Every system, every institution of man is just as flawed as we all are and almost as easy to muck up or get around. Technology may give, but in the end it takes far more and in so many ways, no matter what those that are selling it may tell us.

Here’s a teachable moment for you and Greenie.

Zionism versus Bolshevism: A Struggle for the Soul of the Jewish People

        Winston Churchill

ChurchillSome people like Jews and some do not; but no thoughtful man can doubt the fact that they are beyond all question the most formidable and the most remarkable race which has ever appeared in the world.
And it may well be that this same astounding race may at the present time be in the actual process of producing another system of morals and philosophy, as malevolent as Christianity was benevolent, which, if not arrested would shatter irretrievably all that Christianity has rendered possible. It would almost seem as if the gospel of Christ and the gospel of Antichrist were destined to originate among the same people; and that this mystic and mysterious race had been chosen for the supreme manifestations, both of the divine and the diabolical.

The National Russian Jews, in spite of the disabilities under which they have suffered, have managed to play an honourable and successful part in the national life even of Russia. As bankers and industrialists they have strenuously promoted the development of Russia’s economic resources, and they were foremost in the creation of those remarkable organisations, the Russian Co-operative Societies. In politics their support has been given, for the most part, to liberal and progressive movements, and they have been among the staunchest upholders of friendship with France and Great Britain.

        International Jews
In violent opposition to all this sphere of Jewish effort rise the schemes of the International Jews. The adherents of this sinister confederacy are mostly men reared up among the unhappy populations of countries where Jews are persecuted on account of their race. Most, if not all, of them have forsaken the faith of their forefathers, and divorced from their minds all spiritual hopes of the next world. This movement among the Jews is not new. From the days of Spartacus-Weishaupt to those of Karl Marx, and down to Trotsky (Russia), Bela Kun (Hungary), Rosa Luxembourg (Germany), and Emma Goldman (United States), this world-wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilisation and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It played, as a modern writer, Mrs. Webster, has so ably shown, a definitely recognisable part in the tragedy of the French Revolution. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the Nineteenth Century; and now at last this band of extraordinary personalities from the underworld of the great cities of Europe and America have gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and have become practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire.

        Terrorist Jews
There is no need to exaggerate the part played in the creation of Bolshevism and the actual bringing about of the Russian Revolution by these international and for the most part atheistical Jews. It is certainly a very great one; it probably outweighs all others. With the notable exception of Lenin, the majority of the leading figures are Jews. Moreover, the principal inspiration and driving power comes from the Jewish leaders. Thus Tchitcherin, a pure Russian, is eclipsed by his nominal subordinate Litvinoff, and the influence of Russians like Bukharin or Lunacharski cannot be compared with the power of Trotsky, or of Zinovieff, the Dictator of the Red Citadel (Petrograd), or of Krassin or Radek — all Jews. In the Soviet institutions the predominance of Jews is even more astonishing. And the prominent, if not indeed the principal, part in the system of terrorism applied by the Extraordinary Commissions for Combating Counter-Revolution has been taken by Jews, and in some notable cases by Jewesses.
The same evil prominence was obtained by Jews in the brief period of terror during which Bela Kun ruled in Hungary. The same phenomenon has been presented in Germany (especially in Bavaria), so far as this madness has been allowed to prey upon the temporary prostration of the German people. Although in all these countries there are many non-Jews every whit as bad as the worst of the Jewish revolutionaries, the part played by the latter in proportion to their numbers in the population is astonishing.

        “Protector of the Jews”
Needless to say, the most intense passions of revenge have been excited in the breasts of the Russian people. Wherever General Denikin’s authority could reach, protection was always accorded to the Jewish population, and strenuous efforts were made by his officers to prevent reprisals and to punish those guilty of them. So much was this the case that the Petlurist propaganda against General Denikin denounced him as the Protector of the Jews. The Misses Healy, nieces of Mr. Tim Healy, relating their personal experiences in Kieff, have declared that to their knowledge on more than one occasion officers who committed offences against Jews were reduced to the ranks and sent out of the city to the front. But the hordes of brigands by whom the whole vast expanse of the Russian Empire is becoming infested do not hesitate to gratify their lust for blood and for revenge at the expense of the innocent Jewish population whenever an opportunity occurs. The brigand Makhno, the hordes of Petlura and of Gregorieff, who signalised their every success by the most brutal massacres, everywhere found among the half-stupefied, half-infuriated population an eager response to anti-Semitism in its worst and foulest forms. The fact that in many cases Jewish interests and Jewish places of worship are excepted by the Bolsheviks from their universal hostility has tended more and more to associate the Jewish race in Russia with the villainies which are now being perpetrated.

        A Home for the Jews
Zionism offers the third sphere to the political conceptions of the Jewish race. In violent contrast to international communism.
Zionism has already become a factor in the political convulsions of Russia, as a powerful competing influence in Bolshevik circles with the international communistic system. Nothing could be more significant than the fury with which Trotsky has attacked the Zionists generally, and Dr. Weissmann in particular. The cruel penetration of his mind leaves him in no doubt that his schemes of a world-wide communistic State under Jewish domination are directly thwarted and hindered by this new ideal, which directs the energies and the hopes of Jews in every land towards a simpler, a truer, and a far more attainable goal. The struggle which is now beginning between the Zionist and Bolshevik Jews is little less than a struggle for the soul of the Jewish people.

Illustrated Sunday Herald, February 8, 1920, page 5.

Of course he stopped telling the Truth not long after this, else he never would have risen. And his great debts were paid off too, somehow or other. That wouldn’t have happened either if he had kept on telling the Truth. And what did he get for his capitulation and support for the Zionist Cause? Now he’s villified as an Anti-Semite anyway. But he did get the glory he so desired, at least for a time.

Michael Moore came out today with a statement tha AOC is the leader of the Left. The Constitution needs to be amended so that she can run for President in 2020. He reported that a Fox News poll said that a majority of Americans agree with AOC that the wealthy should pay 70% income tax.

The psychological society should enter Progressiveism as a mental illness. It definitely is sociopathological.

It makes sense John, in a demented sort of way. Changing the rules to suit your needs (hey Mike Bloomberg) is in fact, having no rules at all. Having no rules brings total chaos and therefore fits in well with no borders and abortion on demand at any age or even retroactively, why not? Someone should tell Michael Moore that in a society ruled by chaos, hunting Mr. Moore down like the rabid animal that he is and beating him into jelly is also an acceptable sport. Go ahead Fat Boy, make our day. Am I the only one who totally comprehends what CHAOS actually entails? I hope not.

Distraction, distortion, division. (…And of course when these don’t prove effective enough, the ol’ standby: harrassment.)

That is more important than the dangerous nuisance of the tactics themselves.

Who is it that might be benefiting from these tactics? – Ozone

That is the 64,000 buckaroo question, the one that matters. Cui bono?

What I wonder about, actually with increasing wonderment as time ticks inexorably by, is how do the beneficiaries of this distraction, distortion, division think they’ll escape the reckoning?

By any common sense assessment the globalized system that’s been set up has no hope in hell, the un-dead carcass barely alive in the central bank intensive care unit with feeding tubes of Fed-created funny money. This, of course, cannot go on, but any suggestion of removing the tubes makes the half-dead corpse seize up.

Aside from an economic system without the benefit of reason and logic and workability, the big kahuna of issues out there is who controls the Eurasian land-mass. Who gets to be the shot-caller?

China? India? Russia? What about chronic mal-contents like North Korea? They’re not likely to be too happy taking orders or even friendly suggestions from historic enemies like China. How will it be between them without the common enemy from over yonder.

It’s pretty much inevitable, the USA is exiting Korea because it has to, because the economic exigencies it faces make it necessary. It will close up and leave the multitude of foreign military bases as Republican and Democrat descend into imbecility and the economy into bankruptcy.

      • tucsonspur February 3, 2019 at 5:37 pm #

It’s a race for energy supplies. If the US has the good fortune, maybe along with Canada, to be energy independent a couple of decades from now, which of course is a big if, it would be quite difficult for other nations to grab that energy.

Oth, the contiguous Eurasian nations are somewhat mutually accessible. E.g., if Russia is still energy rich, I can see a desperate China making an incursion. At some point, trade agreements will be worthless. This may mean that the shot caller is the one who fires the first shot. It will be one catastrophe or the other, death by starvation or death by war.

The global economic system has been, for the most part, formed by both reason and logic, with a workability for a shortsighted time frame only. Dire consequences were too far off in the future.
Now they are more apparent, and I believe that the elites are at least getting nervous. They will fight for survival in their own way, and we can only fight in ours.

What follows stop gap Ice Nine is anybody’s guess. Cold death?

You want us to be peasants, but what happened to the peasants or “kulaks” in the Ukraine? Politics matters. In particular, aborting the Communist revolution. Or do you want guys in uniforms showing up to take away what you have grown? Smarten up.

And of course the Non-Whites support Communism so they can suck us dry. Is that my fault? It’s simply the case. Even Mr Kunstler admitted Whites were being demonized a few weeks ago. Is it our fault for recognizing it decades ago? You still won’t even admit it.

    • ozone February 3, 2019 at 6:07 pm #

Since vladdie in actuality works for the Deep State, he fumes at the thought he may not escape the consequences of his mendacity. (Thus the incessant and pointed umbrage.) *He* might want to “smarten up”, but I seriously doubt he will, since he assumes he’s an indispensible cog in the M.I.C. Disinformation scum will be the first to be sacrificed in the rearguard holding action; nobody likes a con-man, not even their handlers and script writers. (Pray tell, who would know them more intimately?)

But, besides all that, I offer a hearty, “Good Job!” as I would any other 3-year-old whose meaningless scribbles are proudly displayed as realistic representations of true life.

Now, back to the distraction, distortion and division! Hurrah for Amerika and the lessons unlearned!

“A billionaire taxed at 90% is left with only $100 million.” — tucsonspur

That’s if his earnings are $1B (& that’s not even true since the 90% is the hypothetical marginal rate).

      • tucsonspur February 4, 2019 at 1:55 am #

Yep. And not to pick nits, but the 90% that people are talking about is a marginal rate. That means that, depending on the cutoffs, he would net a lot more than $4 million because the 90% would apply only on his earnings above x amount.

Maduro, Bushes, Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and the Threat of a new Cold War through the prism of the theory of Colored World Projects

As I wrote in a previous post, many crisis phenomena occurring in different parts of the globe, including the crisis in Venezuela, have the same nature and the key to understanding these causal links is in the 2016 and 2012 presidential elections.

I will start with the TV show “Big Game” on Russian TV Channel 1, in which Dimitri Simes, much more informed than I am, shaking from negative emotions, said that the Venezuelan crisis is due to the fact that Trump, absorbed by the crisis around the wall on the border with Mexico and the government shutdown, left Venezuela to chance, and this topic was picked up by Florida senator Marco Rubio.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dimitri_Simes

Dimitri Simes is a very clever and very good person and according to one of the theories he was let go from USSR to the United States by Brezhnev’s personal order to help President Nixon understand the Soviet context of strategic arms limitation agreements, to which Nixon agreed not because he loved the USSR, but because after Vietnam and the appearance of the UR-100, he was aware of the real prospects for the continuation of the confrontation with the USSR.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UR-100

But no matter how good he is, but still he is the director of the Nixon Center and a member of the US establishment, and as such he simply cannot say everything he knows about this matter, and if in this connection he pointed his finger at Marco Rubio, but not at the Vice-President Pence, who speaks about Maduro every day, then believe me, this is the end of the thread for which you have to pull.

Of course, he knew that no civilian would ever understand this hint addressed to those who know everything anyway, and he clearly does not know about my existence, and thank God he does not know.

And I know not only that, but also that during the 2016 primaries, presidential candidates from Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor Kasich were the main champions of Hillary Clinton in the Republican primaries. Indeed, these states send a large number of delegates to the convention who are obliged to vote for the winner, and without electoral votes from at least one of these states no candidate can receive a nomination from the Republican Convention.

And I remember very well how candidate Rubio and Florida Senator Marco Rubio concurrently, realizing that they had failed their mission with Governor Kasich, in desperation offered Trump the candidate to measure their penises. Literally!

Naturally, President Trump will not cooperate voluntarily with such a former candidate, even if he really wanted to play the Venezuelan card in geopolitical poker with Putin. But the most important thing is that Vice President Pence is associated with the Bush clan, and Trump chose him as his Vice precisely for this reason. At the same time, George Bush Jr. and Jeb Bush have a rather complicated relationship with Pence, which is hard not to notice when looking at his official biography, especially after Pence said openly that Dick Cheney was an exemplary vice president for him, who in 2016 openly called for Republicans to vote for Hillary Clinton.

And if you recall the role that Jeb Bush played in Marco Rubio failure, the anti-Venezuelan alliance of Pence and Rubio in 2019 will make it possible to look around and see the crack in the Bush clan and the Order of Illuminati that already existed in 2015, when the election campaign of Donald Trump began.

But it is also necessary to recall the role played by Pence in the fate of General Flynn, after which Pence better not come close to the warring army, and that, according to Simes, he agreed to participate in the Venezuelan adventure on the sidelines behind Clintonoid Rubio.

Consequently, all these Bolton’s notebooks and in general this whole Venezuelan adventure is Hillary Clinton’s bluff.

And Trump agreed to participate in this outrage because in the conditions of the constitutional crisis, when the Democrats seized the majority in the Congress and frankly sabotaging not only the construction of the wall on the southern border, but also any initiatives of President Trump, and are preparing to impeach him, the votes of Pence and Rubio in the US Senate could be crucial, and until Barr becomes the Attorney General, will agree with any of their demands.

Moreover, one can not but admire the skill with which he turned his vulnerabilities into weapons against the Democrats, managing to split their faction in the House of Representatives, using the fact that most of the newly elected delegates are against the war in Venezuela, and this small, but still victory has already played its role in England, where the Theresa May’s Brexit plan once again kicked the bucket, and in Ukraine it probably played the main role, forcing the American Orthodox Church to deny recognition to the notorious Autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church.

But about this in the next post.

No, I am arguing the Bay of Pigs.

Only this time the role of pigs for slaughter will be played by US invading force into Venezuela, if US would be crazy enough to make good on its military threats.

17% of the world’s heavy oil reserves, ready infrastructure for tankers and political weakness make Venezuela a tasty morsel for oil industry, that’s all.

Russia saw this a long time ago and bought 40% of PDVSA Venezuelan Oil Company. And our dear Western partners went the traditional way of taking by force what is not theirs, hiding behind the propaganda of “capitalism” and “democratic values”.

Other than the Jussie Smollet hate crime hoax, more weekend news from Chicago.

7 Shot, 2 dead in front of bar.

Off Duty Policewoman Shot in Car.

Lot of other stuff going on too, none of it good.

Yeah, the police are too cowed to call him a liar. What a ridiculous turn we’ve come to. Two guys walking together are the only thing they admit to having on camera. I wouldn’t be surprised if they have footage of Blacks beating him up just as you surmised. Apparently the area is very heavily surveilled.

I’m now listening to Dr. King’s June 6, 1961 “American Dream” speech. Another Utopian Dream Shot-All-to-Hell….

Heard that the NE Patriots are going to the White House if they win, and the Rams are refusing.

Go Patriots. To hell with the smug Rams,

    The LA, CALIFORNIA. Rams.

Where did the hatred start in this country. Trump? Who does he hate? Nobody!

The Left is the source of the bigotry and hatred in the country.

How many Conservatives bad mouth the Left with the vitriol you hear from people like Michael Moore. Even Trump’s tweets do not compare with the viciousness of the Lefts attacks. Just watch Morning Joe or Chris Mathews.

The biggest lies in history are the Left continuously talking about Trump the bigot when the biggest bigots dwell in the elite Left.

    The MSM is number one.

Meanwhile, while the Jussie Smollett Hate Crime in Chi gets sorted out, in Atlanta, hip hop ‘artist’ Bow Wow, formerly known as L’il Bow Wow, got arrested for smacking around his girl friend. It appears she got in some good licks too as Mr. ‘Bow Wow’s’ forehead, as it appears in his mug shot, shows some scratches and bruises.

Bad experience with Ubuntu. It was pressuring me to upgrade to the latest version so I tried. It was supposed to be an automatic upgrade but my video card requires proprietary drivers which were working just fine in the old version for two years. After upgrade the result was a screen with all controls off screen margins when the new version woke up stupid. I have 4 K screens. I tried to get drivers loaded using the command line. I was able to open a terminal. Before I could finish getting it done the system became so unstable it a minute into boot. Conventional procedure would not have let this happen I knew I was in trouble when during the upgrade it said ‘disabling third party drivers’.

Since I had to start fresh, I went with ‘MINT’ which is based on Debian Linux like Ubuntu is. I’m partial to Debian distros cuz I know the filesystem quirks but I’d go with other another distro like CentOS in a heartbeat if I had to. You should go with a widely used version so there is plenty of support.

An intellectual Jubilee. Much was lost.

Because the Linux Distros are so closely related I had issues with the video card under Mint too. Fortunately it was stable enough so using an old VGA monitor I was able to get NVIDEA drivers loaded and boot into a new stable system with my dual 4K monitors. I’m using them now.

No updates on my blog this weekend.

unstable it crasheda minute into boot.

Back when, I met Debbie at the Mint in Vegas and we went to the discos. She was African but didn’t speak Ubuntu. We spent our money and ourselves and then just crashed.

Later, I gave her my video card and got an NVIDEA driver to take me home.
