It’s beginning to look a little like The Day the Earth Stood Still out there, with Devin Nunes in the Klaatu role, roiling the Earthlings into a frothy hysteria as they attempt to defend their puny empire of errand boys, grocery clerks, and elected buffoons. At dawn’s early light, we await The Memo.

The New York Times was running veritable Chinese fire drills on its front page this morning denouncing The Memo in advance, shrieking about the end of the Republic, with the laughable caveat that… “None of this is to say the F.B.I. and the rest of the federal law enforcement apparatus should be immune from criticism or reform.” The Times editorial did not go into any detail about what exactly might invite that reform — like perhaps one top-rank agent telling another one that the “loathsome” president had to be gotten rid of at all costs.

The casual observer — say, one who is immune to the charms of Donald J. Trump — can’t fail to notice that there is a bit more smoke emanating from the upper echelons of the FBI than has yet been seen in the sludgy narrative called “Russian Meddling in the 2016 Election.” Going into two years of that yarn, not one concrete detail has emerged. Meddled how? For all the “we now know” talking points uttered by Grand Inquisitor Rachel Maddow, it seems to me that we now know next to nothing about “collusion” between Russians and Trump, while we know a great deal about the indelicate behavior of FBI officers in important positions with grave responsibilities — government agents with the power to wreck lives — who cooked up an enormous hysteria in the body politic.

The situation certainly puts the nation in a quandary. An uncouth and ridiculous President called forth to battle a vicious, dishonest, bureaucracy and in particular its gigantic, out-of-control “security” apparatus, which appears to have been hijacked by politically interested parties — namely, the minions of Hillary Clinton. You have been reminded here before that history is the supreme prankster. In Fourth Turning terms, the poor old disintegrating USA pined for a “gray champion” and all it got was this booby prize: a Manhattan real estate schmikler with a mean streak. Well, that’s how things roll in a long emergency. And this might only be the beginning of it.

In any case, it appears that the FBI, in the hallowed words of Ricky Ricardo, has got some ‘splainin’ to do. Recall, it was not so long ago that the FBI was run by a cross-dressing maniac addicted to blackmail, so let’s not act as if the agency was something that the Lord Yahweh brought into being on the fifth day of creation, after the lobsters and the cockateels. Granted, J. Edgar Hoover was a hard act to follow, but we are now, evidently, living in an age of even lower men (and women, to be fair).

CNN reminded viewers relentlessly last night that The Memo was sure to be a disappointment, a “nothingburger,” for a nation that expects a righteous half-pound beef patty with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and special sauce on a sesame bun. Personally, I expect something more like a three-day-old dead carp in a plain brown wrapper. Maybe “the Resistance” will try to make gefilte fish out of it, which is a burger of sorts: chopped meat, anyway.

Meanwhile, we await the report of DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, who has been rooting around in the same burger den as the House and Senate committees, questioning the same cast of characters. The DOJ report is liable to be more damaging than The Memo. The whole nasty gumball of suspicion and innuendo seems destined to climax in a constitutional crisis. Ludicrous as it seems — like some rogue army out of the stupid Star Wars epic — the “Resistance” bethinks itself the nation’s savior. In the best American tradition, they’ll burn the joint down in order to save it.

The “Russian Meddling in the 2016 Election.” narrative is as shabby, tattered, and worn out as Anderson Cooper’s sphincter. Yet it just keeps going and growing.

It finally happened on January 23, 2018. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service declared the eastern puma officially extinct, removing it from the Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife.

And a big thanks to all you Republicons for your unwavering efforts to repeal and relegate to the trash bin of history the job-killing Endangered Species Act. Fortunately, Republicons have vowed to eliminate the act prior to the end of President Dump’s first term.

I have no doubt there’s a special place in the afterworld reserved for you. I can’t think of more deserving people.

God bless you and God bless the USA.

Here are some facts from http://www.animals24-7.org/2018/01/23/eastern-puma-declared-extinct-but-did-it-ever-really-exist/

        1) The last confirmed sighting of an eastern puma was in 1938.
        2) The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service first concluded that the species was extinct back in 2011,
        3) The “species” never really existed as different from the surviving western pumas. The term identified its geographical range, not distinct DNA.

You sound like a very ignorant person who grasps for any excuse to vent hatred for Trump and Republicans. Since it was concluded the eastern puma was extinct in 2011, blame Obama!

“It took WW II to finally convince the British that they were no longer a super power.”

Sadly, some of the Tory party have yet to be persuaded.

      • Elrond Hubbard February 2, 2018 at 3:51 pm #

It feels unfair to compare the Tories with the truly unhinged Republican party, but both seem to be captive to a base that insists on fantasies.

I have no love for the Eurocrats but the whole thing is beyond depressing.

And every time the EU reiterates the obvious and logical positions it put forward before the referendum even happened, you hear Brexit voters saying ‘well, even if I hadn’t been convinced before, I certainly would be now, given the way they’re treating us’. You couldn’t make it up.

Being a simple soul, I just agree with Nick Clegg (Lord knows, nobody says ‘I agree with Nick’ any more these days) that there’s a reason why the majority of our trade is with the EU – it’s because they’re on our feckin’ doorstep (I paraphrase, obviously).

And as near as possible to our doorstep is where I’d like most of our trade to be done, for all sorts of reasons that are obvious to me but that would seem ludicrous to David Davis, Jacob Rees-Mogg or Daniel Hannan, who foresee a glorious global future once the shackles of the EU have been shaken off. Right…

          • GreenAlba February 3, 2018 at 10:37 am #

            As we were saying, Elrond:

            https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/03/imperial-fantasies-brexit-theresa-may

          • Elrond Hubbard February 3, 2018 at 1:55 pm #

Thank you for that, GreenAlba. I agree with the author: the Suez crisis is a far more apt model for the Brexit moment than either war or Empire.

Future historians will record that when the crisis of our times hit, Britain and the West in general were still dining out on stories of the last war.

          • Janos Skorenzy February 3, 2018 at 2:02 pm #

Just like you believe in strong borders too, right? So name one thing you disagree with the EU about?

Was it President Mitterrand who said the history of Europe is just as much about Islam as it is about Christianity? You love that funky stuff! And yes I know, he may not have been EU per se, but he was down with the Ethos, that Brussels beat!

If you listen to the British it was their Tommies that won WW1, the French poilu characterized as un-dependable and unsteady. Never mind Verdun, never mind that it was French troops that held two thirds of the western front.

The Brits have got an exalted view of themselves and their military. I don’t know why. In WW2 the Germans kicked their asses all over Europe and North Africa, the Dunkirk retreat lauded as a triumph, the ignominious and laughable Italian-style debacles that preceded it carefully downplayed.

And let’s not forget the Japanese who walked all over the British in Hong Kong and whose massively outnumbered army of 25,000 reputedly rode in on bicycles and took Singapore from British defenders and took 100,000 prisoners.

And the British discount the English Channel in their war mythologies. In my estimation, if not for that sea-way, Britain would have gone the way of France in WW2.

And it’s not as if there weren’t a lot of the British elite that wanted a peace deal with Germany.

Yeah, yeah ok, ok, they’re heroic, they’re heroic. Incompetent, but heroic. If not for that Channel and the US and the Russians, the UK would have ended up a German tributary state.

      • GreenAlba February 2, 2018 at 12:57 pm #

“The Brits have got an exalted view of themselves and their military. I don’t know why.”

Probably due to watching ‘Reach for the Sky’, ‘The Dambusters’ or ‘The Battle of the River Plate’ every other Sunday afternoon for two decades after the war. And human nature.

        ” Incompetent, but heroic.”

Thankfully also into self-deprecatory humour, which is possibly a saving grace.

Many of us are aware of how many Soviet military personnel died, but also of how late the US deigned to join in and only because the Japs wouldn’t let them stay out. To listen to some Americans you’d think they’d offered their help the minute Germany invaded Poland, just to be nice.

“And the British discount the English Channel in their war mythologies. In my estimation, if not for that sea-way, Britain would have gone the way of France in WW2.”

I think you are absolutely correct in your second statement there, but not at all in the first. I think the Channel is a big symbolic part of the mythology.

        • GreenAlba February 2, 2018 at 1:13 pm #

I would also say that the arrogance and incompetence of WWI British generals is literally legendary in the UK, however much of it is true or false.

          • outsider February 2, 2018 at 2:29 pm #

This whole thread is off topic, but I just read this morning that FDR summoned the Soviet foreign minister to DC at the start of US involvement, because the Russians were desperate for a second front against the Germans. Eisenhower said that the US would be ready to attack the Euro mainland by the end of 1942. But Churchill was against it, hence no invasion until June 1944.

Why? I can only surmise that Churchill wanted to bleed both the Russians and the Germans dry (he hate both countries ) before the Brits and the Yanks came in from the West to mop up and claim victory. The high school history books say that we (the US) won WWII, but it was really the Soviets, who lost 27 million yet refused to quit, who won the war.

          • Janos Skorenzy February 2, 2018 at 3:37 pm #

Imagine if we had attacked the Soviets from Alaska, invading across the Bering Straits. We could have met the Germans in Moscow, destroying Communism with one stroke. Instead we met the Russians in a ruined Berlin to divvy up the spoils and preside over the Death of the West.

          • sprawlcapital February 3, 2018 at 11:14 am #

That’s truly an amazing alternative history, Janos. It works for me, with two major exceptions. The Germans would have had to reject anti-Semitism, and reject the entire concept that what they considered lesser races should be exterminated or enslaved.

Also, the ideology of endless economic growth as the organizing principle of capitalism would have to be rejected. A steady-state economy would be the result. Private property would remain, just not endless growth.

        • shotho February 2, 2018 at 5:32 pm #

Exactly why should the USA rush to offer its help to Britain the minute Germany invaded Poland? It was the British who had foolishly made a treaty with Poland to defend it against foreign attack. What did America have to do with the warmongering in Europe? The United States should have stayed out of those foreign wars and let the feckless Europeans sort it out for themselves.

          • GreenAlba February 2, 2018 at 6:26 pm #

I didn’t suggest they should, shotho.

But the Japanese brought the US into it anyway.

        • Janos Skorenzy February 3, 2018 at 2:04 pm #

The British have only that humor and no healthy pride left at all. They are only proud of how much they grovel – a complete inversion of the Human Spirit.

      • EvelynV February 4, 2018 at 8:22 am #

You have it wrong. If it hadn’t been for the Brits, Russia would have succumbed to Hitler who then would have been able to devote their full attention to Britain. The US meanwhile would have watched the whole affair with their thumbs us their asses until it was too late to do anything but hope Germany would be willing to “get along” with them.

  4. Ishabaka February 2, 2018 at 9:55 am #

From J. Edgar Hoover’s blackmail files to COINTELPRO to the assassination of Vicki Weaver, the FBI has shown itself to be a snake-pit of corruption. Time to do away with it, and replace it with a more accountable federal investigative agency.

    • pequiste February 2, 2018 at 6:13 pm #

Accountability? WHat accountability? Like the trillions of dollars that the Puzzle Palace (Dept of Defense) has “lost” and cannot account for?

      Like the C.I.A.’s “Black Budget?”

Like a F.I.S.A. court saying it is okey dokey to wiretap the president-elect?

Be careful what you hope for. A replacement for the FBI with A.I. and A.G.I. and autonomous robots just around the corner, and evil minded bastards crawling interstitially around D.C., we could wind up with a combination of the KGB, Gestapo and STASI on steroids and meth.

      Ish,
Don’t forget about Waco, a planned ATF/FBI dynamic entry raid from the start. David Koresh often went into town and could have been picked up at any time. But that didn’t fit with the Agenda. Once a few ATF agents were killed it was not going to end well for the Branch Davidians.

Currently, a six-part mini-series about Waco is playing on Paramount. The first two installments gave Koresh a fair shake, with bullying law enforcement being shown as the bad guys. The only thing I wonder is how Koresh was able to convince all the men to remain celibate, while he boinked their wives and girlfriends, who had one child after another.

I was so irritated at “The Resistance” in The Last Jedi. I know that term was introduced in the first movie in 2015 before Trump and “The Resistance,” but I couldn’t help but notice that half the characters in the movie looked like some SJWs from planet Earth. Not sure how but Disney has managed to turn Star Wars into some kind of nauseating politically correct political statement.

Trump aside for a moment, peak oil is being ignored at the moment by just about everyone. We are increasing our demand for Black Gold as more developing countries and bigger pick up trucks are keeping oil prices going higher and higher. Fracking adds more and more to the supply, as the Ponzi scheme expands. And then we just keep burning more and more, not plastics, not fertilizer, burning, like it turns into CO2 and soot. Particulate counts keep climbing, thank you diesels, cancer rates with them. At least we will be warmer as we do the lemming thing. Prices are starting to climb, hopefully in time to stop this idiotic march off the cliff. OPEC using S and D to drop prices a couple of years ago in an attempt to bring fracking down. It did not work and now we are off again to the races. Now OPEC cutting output again? Nuts! And Mr. Ponzi will eventually catch up to the second generation of production. Finite resources will scream enough in about 50 years according to EIA, and instead of trying to curb oil usage to stretch it out, we keep selling more pick ups.

Trump is trapped, thirty years of overspending has created a debt of over 20 trillion dollars and created a growth necessary economy. The Resource limited Long Emergency is lurking out there waiting to put the Cabo’s on everyones’ plans. Latest estimate of annualized growth is 5.6%. Rev up those pick ups, the end is getting closer and faster!

Gasoline price jumped up 16 cents overnight a few days ago for the cheapest grade, which, due to the tax break for our Iowa corn farmers, is the 10% ethanol blend.

I can believe anything bad about the Democrats after my experiences at the Iowa caucuses starting in 2000, when, as I recall, I supported Richardson, and was sure we were robbed in favor of Gore in our precinct, But there was no way to tell for sure due to the vote totals not being announced.

Same thing happened in 2016, as we supported Sanders, and it looked like the Sanders group had more voters, but Clinton was announced as the winner in our precinct. Again, the vote totals were not announced.

Around October 2016, I started watching Fox (switched from CNN) and now I can’t stand CNN.

The Dems are dishonest and incompetent. Other than that, the Democratic Party is a shining light in a time of darkness.

DRAFT LEGISLATION OBTAINED by The Intercept suggests the Department of Housing and Urban Development is eyeing a proposal to overhaul the federal government’s administration of subsidized housing, through measures such as rent hikes and conditioning aid on employment.

This change would significantly impact those who rely on public housing and housing choice vouchers, often referred to as Section 8 in reference to Section 8 of the Housing Act. The news comes just weeks after the Trump administration announced that states could start imposing work requirements as a condition of Medicaid eligibility.

    • outsider February 2, 2018 at 11:24 am #

As a retired welfare caseworker, my experience says that they’ll need to hire an army of caseworkers if they want to strictly enforce work requirements on everyone receiving some form of public assistance. Of course, that’s not gonna happen. IMO, it’s nothing but smoke and mirrors for public consumption.

      • sharonsj February 2, 2018 at 5:01 pm #

I know two people living in subsidized housing. One is 74 and a self-employed lawyer who has never earned much of a living. She’s in subsidized housing because she couldn’t pay her mortgage and the house was foreclosed on. Her Social Security is $750 a month.

The other is age 52 and lives on SS Disability of $700 a month. He was in kidney failure for six years and got a transplant two years ago. He spends numerous times a month making trips to doctors for blood work and pharmacies for a bunch of different drugs.

How are you going to force these people to get a job and who would hire them? One thing we know for sure about politicians: they have no clue how real people are surviving (or not surviving).

During a recent conversation with a New York investment banker, I quoted the statistic from Jared Taylor’s book that 15% of New Yorkers in the early 1990’s were on Aid for Families with Dependent Children (“Welfare”), and the percentage must be much higher today. The investment banker immediately referred to the TV show “The Walking Dead”. I’ve never seen the TV show, but I’ve heard of it.

Don’t you think this could be a step in the direction of a World Made by Hand?

Yet another Middle School drama breaking out in Washington, yawn. At this point I don’t care what is disclosed. The whole place has become irrelevant to adults and anyone with a triple digit IQ.

At this point can we expect anything even close to the truth to come out of DC? Can we trust any mainstream media outlet to present it? Lies, spin, propaganda and marketing have infused every aspect of our lives these days, thus coating any truths in a crunchy coating of dried bullshit that is nearly impossible to penetrate anyway.

After so many years of just figuring the latest government stats, reasons for war, and ex0lanation of events are pure bullshit concocted to advance an agenda, all of the sudden we are supposed to take “The Memo” at face value? It’s all part of the spectacle to keep us engrossed while the owners pick our pockets.

We shall see. If this whole battle between factions of the deep state story is real, then I’m guessing they have enough dirt on everyone that might be able to touch them.

The loathsome Rethug have thought they could ensnare the loathsome Clintons (water carriers for the Bush crime family) many times in the past with all the same enthusiasm we see today.

Let’s see how this plays out. This time it’s different has taken on a wolf-like quality for some time now.

Good point. You can bet they’ll pick every pocket they can get their grimy little hands on.

Why nobody? I practically shout about it from all steam irons!

      FincaInTheMountains February 2, 2018 at 4:34 am

      Martial Law?

Trump is preparing to declare a state of emergency.

Alex Jones (the main pro-Trump resource) said that there is evidence that the attack on the train, in which Congress speaker Paul Ryan was traveling, was an attempt to pressure him to remove Nunes from the position of chairman of the congressional committee overseeing the intelligence community.

      https://thinkprogress.org/ryan-trump-fbi-nunes-5-seconds-f2e981fceb4f/

Democrats are in hysteria, gradually developing into a panic, shouting about the coup from all available steam irons. The most interesting thing is that the question of the coup d’etat did not occur to any of the Hilary’s supporters when she stole the nomination from Bernie Sanders and when on Trump’s birthday his closest friend Skalise was shot 3 hours before the anti-Trump and anti-Russian law was passed, which could still lead to a nuclear war.

Why isn’t Bernie Sanders talking about it? Isn’t he the one who got screwed?
I don’t think he was ever serious about becoming President but somebody had to make it look like a contest instead of a coronation parade for Hillary.

      • thwack February 2, 2018 at 10:51 am #

        Exactly.

Bernie was chosen to “go down” in the 7th round against Hillary the same way McCain was chosen to lose against Obama.

They were both chosen because they could both be trusted not to end up on “the wrong side of history”

        • outsider February 2, 2018 at 11:42 am #

But Hillary’s, and the DNC’s, plan went awry, since ol’ Bernie lasted until the end of the 15th round, and only lost on a very controversial split decision. It reminds me of the original Rocky, when Balboa is chosen to be Apollo Creed’s punching bag because he was white and washed-up, yet he nearly won.

          • hmuller February 2, 2018 at 11:56 am #

If Rocky was “the Italian Stallion” does that make Bernie “the Honkey Donkey”?

Cuz they don’t want to empower the Republicans. This just illustrates the weakness of the Two Party System – it plays into the weakness of human nature. Good/Bad. Yes/No. Black/White. Pain/Pleasure. Like/Dislike.

The Two Party System imitates the automatic aspect of our lower psychology. It doesn’t encourage thinking and seeing shades of gray, but rather taking a side and sticking to it – and ignoring all cognitive dissonance.

Incompetence so bad that they not only denied the very existence of Organized Crime forcing the Department of the Treasury to solve the Capone problem, and so evil that their complicity in the murders or JFK, RFK, and MLK is still the talk of the nation. And how about the screw up these Federal hacks perpetrated in the Bruno Hauptman case that was so bad that the NJSP was compelled to step in and straighten it all out. When have they ever achieved ANYTHING? Oh that’s right, facts are irrelevant these days. As I recall, the term , ” French Resistance ” was worked to death to gloss over the fact that a great many Frenchmen, including many of its most decorated soldiers from WW I , did not think it was worthwhile to kill off a few million Frenchmen for the sake of the British , the Americans , and the Reds.

The memo is authored by the staff of Republican Devin Nunes. It contains allegations; nothing more or less. Releasing the memo, especially after we know it has been altered, means absolutely nothing. The documents relied on by his staff – the source documents – are the only thing that is important in any legal sense. The rest of this is grandstanding and political showmanship. Even those source documents may lack credibility. But of course, the American people are not smart enough to decide for themselves. They have to be told.

That is government in the era of mega corporations, media conglomerates and Twitter and Instagram.

    • FincaInTheMountains February 2, 2018 at 10:50 am #

So, was it worth arranging a train wreck just to postpone the release?

      • outsider February 2, 2018 at 11:49 am #

I know that Mr. K says he is immune to conspiracies, but, my god, that train wreck is highly suspicious.

    • Janos Skorenzy February 2, 2018 at 1:29 pm #

The memo is fact, Dumb. Hillary paid for the bogus dossier by a washed up British spook who hated Trump. The FBI knew the dossier was worthless, yet it was the basis of the Fisa warrant.

The Judge (who didn’t know) can now recall the warrant as it was based on fraud, which he or she was not party to.

      • Dumbedup February 3, 2018 at 9:27 pm #

It may turn out to be fact, but right now it is not. If the reliable, objective and direct evidence (source documents) along with testimony of those in position to know of their own knowledge confirm the allegations then it becomes fact. What worries me is that the memo is designed to appeal as fact to the Republican base. Most of whom are not known for their critical thinking skills.

Let’s see the evidence instead of more bombast.

      • Dumbedup February 3, 2018 at 9:34 pm #

Why did the Republicans recently extend FISA and the FISA Court if it was used as a political weapon against them? One would think they would have brought all of this up at the time and demanded safeguards and reform.

Answer: So they can use it as a political weapon.

Read Chesterton’s “The Ethics of Elfland.” Fantasy has to be coherent and internally consistent. Thus it has a political aspect, be it Tolkien, Alice in Wonderland, or Harry Potter. Minorities and Women have conquered the Resistance in Star Wars. White Men must now support the Empire.

Only anchorites can escape politics – and only if they remain alone or supported by a stable monastery, which depends of a stable political situation.

Didn’t we read just last week that JHK “like[s] to say that [he’s] allergic to conspiracy theories because …”?

It seems to me this weeks post has brought out the conspiracy theorists among our fellow readers.

    • Ol' Scratch February 2, 2018 at 7:47 pm #

“Conspiracy theories” (TM), have long gotten a bad rap – by design. Conspiracies are nothing more than private plans and execution of same, a well-known and time-honored business and military strategy since time immemorial. Dubbing such plans a “conspiracy” connotes a certain nefarious illegitimacy to them – once again, by design – usually by official government authorities to crack down on those they don’t like. Meanwhile, all state-sanctioned secretive plans and strategies – all secretive “for our own good” of course – are deemed completely legitimate and above reproach – INDEED, PATRIOTIC EVEN! Funny/ironic how that works.

Adding the implied derogative scientific term “theory” to the label completes the linguistic coups de gras, by explicitly implying that the idea is merely a random supposition, and thus has no grounding in fact whatsoever. [Needless to say, the same linguistic trick is employed universally against Climate Change “theorists” as well.]

In short, the term “Conspiracy Theory(ist)” is used extensively, if not almost universally, as a mere label to dismiss that which the labeler does not want to hear.

But even most interestingly, that opens up the question as to what questions exactly the labeler(s) are most resistant to being asked, and even more importantly, exactly what answers are they most afraid they might find if they do?

      • aibohphobia February 3, 2018 at 1:57 am #

The main conspiracy (per Jasun Horsley) is a conspiracy of those conspiring to promote the idea that there are all these conspiracies…

    Mr. Kunstler,
Some voters, perhaps many, voted for Trump as an act of sanctioned anarchy. God help me but I was one of those who did so…and I am not disappointed. What he is doing is not pretty, but seemingly effective. He is stirring the shit…the shit is being stirred, and you know what happens when effluvia is agitated…it smells worse…were it to smell like a rose, no one would take notice.

Do you expect that the Deep State can be manipulated and exposed by Parliamentarian maneuver? Roberts Rules of Order? What we are seeing is akin to “Guerilla Street Theatre”…you lived in San Francisco…the Cockettes, remember?

Systemic governmental failure is often followed by totalitarian overthrow. However, with the power of the violence required to do this placed firmly in the hands of the Shadow Government and the MIC, I would think that the only violence that will overcome the stagnation will emanate from their corner of the game board.

As Plato said, Democracy contains the seeds of its own destruction. A Strong Man must step in to stop the Secret Strong Men who control the Mob for their own interests. The Strong Man will also control the Mob – but for their own good. Don’t like it? Neither did Plato. Get rid of Democracy then as he advocated. Don’t care for his solution model so much, Aristotle’s ideas were better.

Quite right, Janos. And Trump stepped in at the nick of time. He should have done so 20 years earlier, when he first thought about it, and perhaps there would have been no W or Barry.

A lot has transpired since the Coup of “63 and America the Nation has slid far down into the precipice of New World Order since that dark day. There have been a number of bumps and finger-holds that we have encountered on the way down, but we have now landed upon a small ledge that is the Trump presidency. Whether this is a brief respite before a climb back upward or a break before the long Final Decent will be determined at a later date. Whatever it is that the future has in store for us, I think it would be wise to savor the lack of vertical descent and take stock of what can be done to salvage anything that remains to be saved of this place. It ain’t a glass and it ain’t half full or half empty. It’s a twelve-pack of my favorite ale and I am going to do my damnest to sit here and enjoy it while they are still cold!

I’m certainly not the first who has said this, but, if Mr. Trump can avoid getting this country into any more NEW wars, (and he did not in his first year), he could go down as one of the great presidents. Out-of-control immigration (both legal and illegal), society and soul-destroying political correctness, the dark satanic forces of the deep state, Robert Mueller’s sham investigation, and the FAKE news media are all being brought to heel. Is there another American alive who could have accomplished so much in such little time, most especially with few true supporters at his side? Of course, if he starts a war with Iran or the DPRK, all of the good he has accomplished thus far would be for naught.

  35. Janos Skorenzy February 2, 2018 at 12:47 pm #

Reporting in. The Memo is utterly damning. The FBI knew that it was a political effort by the Clinton Campaign and went ahead anyway. Thus the investigation of Trump has to be stopped, and redirected to the Hillary and the FBI. If Mueller refuses to do so, he needs to be fired and investigated as well.

American Liberalism is utterly discredited, basically a pack of Traitors at this point. Once Trump assumed office, this all became something more serious: an attempt at a soft coup. The ringleaders should be dealt with AS Traitors.

Arresting and putting the political opposition on trial is what 3rd world autocrats do. It would not be long before it became illegal to be something other than Republican. Just like the USSR was.

Besides, Hillary knows where the bodies are buried, if she’s going down, the whole Washington establishment (both parties) is going down with her. The Republicans aren’t going to take that risk. They want to stay on the gravy train.

Big crooks like her deserve prison. Calling her political opposition merely legitimizes her crimes. Trump needs to lock her up.

And let’s not talk about Bill’s role in shepherding NAFTA and other globalist schemes, all of which spelled wrack and ruin for American workers but riches for the rich. Bill is Wall Street’s boy and he was richly rewarded.

Congress, and then President Trump, authorized the publication of Nunes’ memorandum, according to which the Democratic Party and the Clinton Foundation paid for the services of a British spy who fabricated the case of an employee of the Trump election campaign allegedly in contact with the Russian government.

This spy handed over the trumped-up case to the FBI, which served as the basis for issuing a warrant for wiretapping Trump’s election campaign, and subsequently the Mueller’s investigation.

It’s pretty clear that Mueller, the FBI (maybe even Wray at this point), and Rosenstein are being set up to get fired. Not because they can prove that Trump himself actively “colluded” with the Russians in some grand conspiracy sense that shows his prowess and competence, but rather they can show the truth: that the Russians played the idiots that Trump surrounded himself with (Parker, Manafort, Kushner, and Trump Jr.) like violins and duped them into unwittingly serving their purposes.

Everything about Trump and his “organization” is disfunctional, disorganized, and incompetent. His electoral victory was a friggin’ accident of history. His inability to govern is manifest.

He needs to sow seeds of doubt into the actually-professional and actually-competent government organizations such that people can’t compare them side-by-side in terms of competency and professionalism. He needs to try to blow smoke and pretend everyone is a partisan and everyone is motivated by politics and personal loyalty, so the conversation about competence (from the “Fire and Fury” narrative) stops and is drowned out by the banality of politics and personalities.

The recorded goings on in that hotel room is property of Russian Federation Intelligence, and they are only capable of threatening Trump & the White House with public exposure of the recording. What they are currently using it for is to manipulate the office of the president, and Trump himself. Trumps handlers know release of the tape would

I look forward to your posts…and generally enjoy them…the parts that I can understand. ”

Let’s take a second to review things Mr. fence-sitting – Gestapo man —

Almost from the very day I showed up here I have said that the FBI were scumbags , AND ALWAYS WERE SCUMBAGS.

I have said that at least ten times , if not more.

During the same time-frame, as I recall , our host was still trotting out the line that this was a RECENT ABERRATION.

( I guess he would probably still call it an aberration ? But if it is only aberration , then we could as well dismiss this world-made-by-hand business. even Ivan the Terrible and Nero had nothing that could remotely compare to Langley , if for no other reason than an Agrarian society simply couldn’t afford the dead weight. Nooo , this is not aberration , it is design. )

So today they line up to praise his intelligence and skill with words, for saying in slightly different words what I have said ten times for 6 months.

With but three exceptions , whom I will not name as it might somehow put them ( or me ) on the spot , I’m as interested in entertaining and being liked by this crowd as a plumber is interested in a toilet bowl.

    you’re a fucking lousy ( unpaid ) job. that’s all.

      Kesa,
Prickly AND pithy…you are on your game today.

Fence-sitting Gestapo man? I think I can understand how you came up with that perception…considering your earlier posts.

“Almost from the very day I showed up here I have said that the FBI were scumbags , AND ALWAYS WERE SCUMBAGS. ”

Round about 1970, I had an opportunity to join the FBI…resisted the temptation.

“I went to some pains to point out that I’m a peasant , the daughter of peasants, the granddaughter of peasants , the great-granddaughter of peasants , etc , etc.”

You take things too literally, Kesa. And I don’t think someone who tells other people that they are not believable or that what they say about their background needs to be taken with a pinch of salt should feel entitled to be believed about what they say either.

As it happens I see no reason not to take what you say at face value, despite your repeated and bizarre aggressiveness. That’s because I tend to assume people are as honest as I am myself until I have reason to believe otherwise. You may do what you like in terms of what you believe.

I made a fairly trivial comment a couple of sessions ago about the British national anthem, with no animosity whatsoever, and you sent me a wall of aggressive text about republicans and jacobins, and since then an ever-growing snowball of insults. Can we just give it a rest? It’s rude in relation to other people reading the blog. I’m certainly not responding to any more of it.

Don’t expect this matter to go fast and furious.

It is not only that the investigation of Trump’s links with Russia began with a fabricated case, but that it could become the reason for appointing a special prosecutor to investigate Trump’s illegal wiretapping, that is, creating an independent security agency that will find evidence of a Hillary’s coup d’etat.

a Manhattan real estate schmikler with a mean streak – JHK

    ============

I was expecting to learn a juicy new derogatory Yiddish term like schlamazel, shmendrick or schmutz but lo and behold there is nothing in the Yiddish dictionary for schmikler. All Google could tell me was that there have been a number of somewhat notable people with the surname of Schmickler or Schmikler.

Help me out here Jim, surely schmikler means something in Yiddish, perhaps muckety-muck or big shot.

    • ozone February 2, 2018 at 5:18 pm #

      Q.,
Aha! You’ve found that Yiddish may be just as mutable/malleable of a language as the dreaded pseudo-English! 😉 (Slap together all the massive input from furrin languages to make the polyglot that is the wonderfully expressive “English” thing if you would, please. Shed the light; I’m exceedingly interested! It may take the rest of your life, but I think it will be well worth the effort. Seriously.)

As I figger’d further ‘up’, knowing JHK’s feewings (tmWalterB) about the triple G, I’d say “swindler” or “con-man” would be the [pretty close] interpretation.

If it means that much to you, a simple e-mail to the author should suffice to clear the subject from your “things to figger” list.

Hmm, mayhap, but I always kinda saw him as an “empty suit”… but a well-tailored and finely-fabric-ed suit at that. 🙂 He wears it well, but don’t get a peek at that full-length mirror when he’s admiring his profile, please.

Watching the news today and the MSM sounds like some 3rd rate country’s government controlled media outlet. It’s really incredible. CNN in particular is transparently and eagerly attempting to say anything to discredit the Nunes memo; “partisan”, “controversial”, “disputed”, “intel agencies dispute it”, etc etc.

When did the MSM become the guardians of government bureaucracy & the establishment?

I was watching the Rubin report a couple days ago, and Rubin had on Jordan Peterson and Ben Schapiro together. Rubin made the remark, and I think he is correct about this, is that the type of platform and the type of guests that he had on is becoming wildly popular, and is really replacing the MSM. People actually do wanna watch a 3 hour program with very intelligent people that do not tow the government line and are perceived as ‘thoughtcriminals’ by the MSM and elites.

I thought of you, Mr. Kunstler there together with a Peterson and Schapiro. It would have been a great conversation.

THE MEMO, treated with welding gloves as having the equivalent magical power of the Ark of The Covenant, has turned out to be an outline of what most of us already had suspected. “The Beltway” is shocked and appalled; we are unsurprised and validated. The Deep State and all its tentacles and organs is deeeeeply politicized and directs its wishes and plots at us poor fools who continue to buy the story line… as long as the goodies keep a’flowing.

Just one example of why THE MEMO probably is distilling [some of] the truth of the FISA courts ‘finding’ memorandum?

Man Uses $1M Win to Finally Visit Doctor, Gets Terminal Cancer Diagnosis, Dies Weeks Later

    http://www.newsweek.com/new-york-lottery-winner-dies-weeks-after-scooping-jackpot-796957

“A New York lottery winner who used some of his million-dollar prize to pay for a visit to the doctor, was told he had stage 4 cancer, and died several weeks later.

“Donald Savastano, who won $1 million playing the New York Lottery’s ‘Merry Millionaire’ game, said on collecting his prize that he had bought the ticket on a whim and was hoping the money would change his life for the better.

“‘Being a self-employed carpenter, I didn’t really have a plan for retirement,’ Savastano told WBNG at the time. ‘The money will help with that. I don’t have any other extravagant plans. I’ll buy a new truck, pay off some debt and invest for the future.’

“As well as thinking about using his newly found fortune to book a vacation and buy himself a new truck, the self-employed carpenter also took the opportunity to pay for a visit to the doctor—something he had previously not been able to afford.

“But during his appointment the doctor told Savastano, who had reportedly been feeling unwell for some time, that he had stage 4 cancer in his lung and brain. The 51-year-old died just three weeks after winning the jackpot and getting his diagnosis.”

    Well, ain’t that America…

          • GreenAlba February 3, 2018 at 10:07 am #

I agree about the idea of defeating death at all costs (but if you can catch an early-stage cancer that’s treatable, it seems only fair to treat it).

Over here there are arguments about providing cancer treatments costing tens (or hundreds) of thousands of pounds that only extend life by maybe three months. That seems wrong to me – I hope I’d still think that if it were me facing the situation.

Interestingly, when doctors here get late-stage cancers, they themselves have a strong tendency to opt for good palliative care and enjoying what’s left of their lives without the misery of chemotherapy etc. They don’t suffer the delusions that lay people suffer and they understand futility. It’s not within their rights to impose that on patients, though – people have to see it for themselves.

And, paradoxically, there’s even evidence that people who choose acceptance and palliative care sometimes even live longer than those who get all possible treatments, because the treatment can be more stressful to the body than the disease.

A friend of mine in Belgium lost her husband to a brain tumour (glioblastoma) a couple of years ago. He got about a year, but half of it was spent in misery because they ‘threw everything at him’.He would probably have been better with a peaceful 9 months and just palliative care.

This book, ‘Hippocratic Oaths: Medicine and its Discontents’ (Raymond Tallis) is one of the best books on what people look for from medicine and why so much of it makes no rational sense. The author is a wise and caring geriatrician.

            https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hippocratic-Oaths-Medicine-its-Discontents/dp/1843541270/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1517669115&sr=8-1&keywords=hippocratic+oath

Doctors often get called out to visit a 95-year-old lady in a nursing home because she ‘isn’t herself’. She isn’t herself because she’s 95, is going to die soon, and would just like to be left alone, generally (if she’s even compos mentis) but someone somewhere (very often her family) thinks ‘something needs to be done’ and wants to whisk her off to hospital for tests, which is the last place she wants to go.

          GA,
In the US, any sick person walking into a public hospital MUST be treated insurance or no. Then there’s the Hill-Burton Act, which covers those who do not qualify for any other type of insurance, although the hospital will make them apply for Medicaid/Obamacare. So, I’d say he didn’t explore alternatives and put lack of money over his health. As someone who worked in this field (on the Medicaid part) there is really no good excuse for not looking after your health – unless you might harbor a death wish.

          • GreenAlba February 3, 2018 at 9:33 am #

Thanks for the clarification, outsider. I did think people could use hospitals in emergencies, but thought the problem was the kind of routine care that might pick up an early-stage cancer.

I watched a programme one night a while ago that showed people queuing up overnight in a car park outside a sort of pop-up clinic where people suffering from cancer and other illnesses were waiting for treatment and medication from peripatetic doctors that they couldn’t get otherwise. Maybe that doesn’t happen any more.

Even longer ago, I had an aunt in Flushing, NY, who had a heart condition. She was widowed with three children and had a low-paying job as (I think) a dinner lady in a school. My mother mentioned that there was a time when she couldn’t afford the medication for her condition. As I say, hopefully things have changed.

It’s a fraught subject in all countries – no easy solutions.

          • Elrond Hubbard February 3, 2018 at 2:12 pm #

outsider: “So, I’d say he didn’t explore alternatives and put lack of money over his health.”

I don’t think you mean it quite like I’m about to put it, outsider, but that is a sick set of priorities for a society to have. On the one hand, you have a society whose every incentive leads to pursuing private gain and disregarding needs that absolutely everyone has; on the other you have the ultimate incentive, which is mortality. Smash the irresistible force into the immovable object, and the outcome is the kind of economic brutality that turned this man’s life and death into a macabre joke.

The real solution is to change the way health care works in the USA, and catch up with every other society that can easily afford it (and some that can’t afford it so easily, but do it anyway because it’s the right thing): make health care universally available as a right, with zero cost at the point of use. The fact that cases like this are so normal is one of the reasons why the U.S. is currently tearing itself apart at the seams — that’s how desperate everyday life has become. No one else can do it for you, so I wish you all luck.

Yeah, he didn’t get to buy stuff… He had absorbed the unspoken lesson that blares from every billboard and every TV screen: it’s all about consumption. Everything’s a commodity, up to and including the essentials of life.

The guy didn’t conclude on his own that health care is just more ‘stuff’ he could either buy or not, like a fidget spinner; the lesson was pounded into him from the day he was born.

I meant to respond to outsider above about the U.S. law that punishes hospitals for turning away patients, whether they can afford to pay or not. Here’s the article:

Patient Dumping: A “New” Cost Savings Strategy for Hospitals

        https://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2018/02/patient-dumping-new-cost-savings-strategy-hospitals.html

The law says they can’t; there are criminal penalties for doing it; but they do this amazingly cruel thing anyway, because the demands of for-profit medicine leave them with no option. Just… just read it.

“Additionally, the active ingredient of cannabis, while possibly deleterious in teenagers, appears to be positive for older people. This ingredient, THC ( tetrahydrocannabinol ), appears to restore memory in elderly mice (using mazes as a test), according to a study conducted by the University of Bonn in Germany. It appears that THC increases the number of connections between neuronal cells in the hippocampus, which is where short-term memories are stored. Future trials using cannabinoids will use purified THC rather than spliffs or reefers, so that elderly potheads will not be a regular sight in any town near you.”

Good work, but not the Great Work of transforming lead into gold at all levels, including the physical. It’s said that Fucanelli was the only man to “make the stone” in the 20th Century.

One or rather “this one” is reminded of Blake’s Fuseli:

The only man I ever knew,
Who did not make me almost spew,
Was Fuseli, both Turk and Jew.
      So my dear Christian friends,
      How do you do?

For Elrond, with much appropriate sentiment.

    F**KU BARACKA OBAMO

Let’s not let history fall into the fading furrows of memory, or let some of yesterday’s politics lose their treasonous scent.

In January 2017, one of the last acts of Obama’s presidency was to commute the sentence of 74 year old Oscar Lopez Rivera, one of the FALN leaders responsible for many bombings, including the Fraunces Tavern in 1975, killing four and wounding 63. See here:

    https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/01/oscar-lopez-commutation-barack-obama-214685

Let’s also go back pre-Obama and remember Eric Holder’s role in securing Marc Rich’s pardon and also, more importantly, in getting Bill Clinton to pardon a group of FALN terrorists in 2000. Why? To promote the candidacy of one Hillary Clinton for the Senate seat in New York, which has the largest number of Puerto Ricans in the country.

It’s the Obama, Clinton, Holder pro terror triumvirate. Shortly after assuming the presidency, Obama drops the death penalty against one terrorist and then frees another behind the USS Cole bombing. See here:

    https://www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/262696/obama-frees-uss-cole-bombing-terrorist-daniel-greenfield

Obama closes all overseas CIA interrogation centers and announces the closing of Guantanamo prison for terrorists.

Obama raises no objection when Pakistan gives control of the Swat valley to the Taliban, and makes no objection when Yemen releases over one hundred al-Qaeda terrorists from its prisons

Obama makes no protest when Sheik Sharif Ahmed of the Union of Islamic Courts becomes the new president of Somalia, the UIC considered a terrorist group by the Bush administration.

Yes, the “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon” Obama. The Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Alinsky disciple Obama.

    And what’s with the Bergdahls?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9UxHGOw7uw

The list does go on and on. Trump smelled the alien presence and knew there was danger. Obama really is from another world.

Hail the Giant Gort of Gotham! Let his fury be unleashed!

I might have been wrong all along – there was a Russian meddling!

I guess the Putin’s boys sold Clintons the Steele Dossier, knowing full well that it was easily debunkable.

And Clintonoids, being desperate they are, swallowed it hook, line, and sinker! (Or should it be lock, stock, and barrel?)

The real name of Hitler’s Germany was the Third Reich, but this name completely sounds like this:

The Third Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation

    And in Latin

Tertius Sacrum Romanum Imperium Nationis Teutonicae.

And the most informative name is Latin, because the Teutons are a Germanic tribe that spawned the first wave of the barbarian invasion into the Roman Empire, but in its entirety passed into the astral after they were defeated by the troops of Gaius Marius in the Battle of Aquae Sextiae.

Thus it is Gaius Marius who holds the copyright for the “final solution of the German question”, which is very important, since the Teutons and Franks, in contrast to the Danes, Suebi and Norvegs, worshiped Thor and Loki, and not just Odin.

And this created additional friction between them and Vikings after the Vikings received Christianity from the hands of Irish monks who were extremely negative about the legends that Christ allegedly married Mary Magdalene and allegedly had children with her, rulers of Visigoths, Franks, Britons and God knows who else.

In addition, Christ for the Danes, baptized by the Irish monk Popo from the Frisian Monastery of Annegrai, founded by St. Columban, replaced Odin, and this circumstance overlapped the proclamation of Charlemagne Emperor with the betrayal of Pope Leo III towards Byzantium and also with the betrayal of Pepin the Short (and his descendants, including Charlemagne), who conspired with Pope Zachary against the Christian kings of Francs Merovingians.

Well, the fact that in the 20th century the aforementioned legends again came to the forefront of world history and became the leading geopolitical force, it obviously and does not require proof.

And for this is enough to realize the importance of such a historical fact that Hitler’s coming to power is directly connected with the activities of the Thule Society and the Cistercian monk Jorg Lanz von Liebenfels on the filling of Nazism with ideological content with the help of the Mysteries of the German General Staff “Wienai”.

Well, if you remember that one of the first Cistercians, you can say the founder of the Order was the true author of racial anti-Semitism and “Generalplan Ost” (also “natio deleatur”) “HOLY!” Bernard of Clairvaux, the term “Holy” in the true name of Hitler’s Germany, along with the inscription on the buckles of Hitler’s soldiers, acquires its true meaning.

It is only fairly recently – the last decade or so – that I have freed myself from all this religion-based bullshit. It is such a relief when you finally realize ‘you’re born, you live, and then you die’ and that’s it! All the rest is a crock (or as someone on these pages once said “a bunch of crock.”)

“and then you die” is the hard part

        ==========

Consider this brilliant poem, Aubade, by Philip Larkin

I work all day, and get half-drunk at night.
Waking at four to soundless dark, I stare.
In time the curtain-edges will grow light.
Till then I see what’s really always there:
Unresting death, a whole day nearer now,
Making all thought impossible but how
And where and when I shall myself die.
        Arid interrogation: yet the dread
        Of dying, and being dead,
Flashes afresh to hold and horrify.

The mind blanks at the glare. Not in remorse
—The good not done, the love not given, time
        Torn off unused—nor wretchedly because
An only life can take so long to climb
        Clear of its wrong beginnings, and may never;
But at the total emptiness for ever,
The sure extinction that we travel to
And shall be lost in always. Not to be here,
        Not to be anywhere,
And soon; nothing more terrible, nothing more true.

This is a special way of being afraid
No trick dispels. Religion used to try,
        That vast moth-eaten musical brocade
Created to pretend we never die,
And specious stuff that says No rational being
Can fear a thing it will not feel, not seeing
That this is what we fear—no sight, no sound,
No touch or taste or smell, nothing to think with,
Nothing to love or link with,
The anaesthetic from which none come round.

And so it stays just on the edge of vision,
A small unfocused blur, a standing chill
That slows each impulse down to indecision.
Most things may never happen: this one will,
And realisation of it rages out
In furnace-fear when we are caught without
People or drink. Courage is no good:
It means not scaring others. Being brave
Lets no one off the grave.
Death is no different whined at than withstood.

Slowly light strengthens, and the room takes shape.
It stands plain as a wardrobe, what we know,
Have always known, know that we can’t escape,
Yet can’t accept. One side will have to go.
Meanwhile telephones crouch, getting ready to ring
In locked-up offices, and all the uncaring
Intricate rented world begins to rouse.
The sky is white as clay, with no sun.
        Work has to be done.
Postmen like doctors go from house to house.

In locked-up offices, and all the uncaring
Intricate rented world begins to rouse.

            …is brilliant.

I speed-read my way through the memo last night and said to myself “why was this crap classified to begin with?” The only possible reason was to cover the butts of the people involved. Politicians resort to dirty tricks to win elections? What a shocker! I never would have suspected.

The only thing that might come of this is that a few Americans finally wake up to the danger of police/intelligence agencies involving themselves in politics and manipulating elections, which is far, far more dangerous than any alleged “Russian Collusion”.

The CIA/FBI/15other block was asleep at the switch when Trump defeated Hillary and are now trying to compensate for it by actively discrediting Trump (not that they need to do much – he is quite capable of doing that himself!). The State Department is known outside the USA as the political arm of the CIA, and Hillary was their candidate.

The Founders of our country were nearly universally opposed to a standing military, considering it the greatest possible threat to democracy and freedom. Standing intelligence agencies are even more dangerous. In the end, either they go or freedom goes.

“But, even after reading only the Republicans’ memo, we can say two things. First, the F.B.I. and the Justice Department didn’t base their application to monitor Page entirely on Steele’s work.

And, second, and more important, the Trump-Russia investigation didn’t begin with the Steele dossier. These two facts are there in that lonely paragraph on the fourth page of the Nunes memo.

This is how it begins: “The Page fisa application also mentions information regarding fellow Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, but there is no evidence of any cooperation or conspiracy between Page and Papadopoulos. The Papadopoulos information triggered the opening of an FBI counterintelligence investigation in late July 2016 by FBI agent Peter Strzok.” In other words, the Trump-Russia probe began with an investigation of Papadopoulos, a young foreign-policy aide to the Trump campaign, who last year pleaded guilty to lying to the F.B.I.

A Times story in December provided basically the same account, but this isn’t a newspaper report: it is an official memo written by congressional staff members quoting a secret F.B.I. court filing. Far from confirming the conspiracy theory promoted by Trump, Hannity, and Fitton, the Nunes memo contradicts a central element of it.” —The New Yorker

Janet, the matter at hand is NOT whether or not the eavesdropping warrant against Trump campaign was based on the Steele dossier or not, but in the fact that High Officers of the Court from the FBI and the DOJ knowingly lied to the Federal Judge(s) of the FISA court regarding the evidence they have during FISA application process.

“Speaking in the Oval Office Friday, Trump implied the memo revealed political bias at the FBI. He said he believed the purported bias was a “disgrace” and said certain people should be “ashamed of themselves.”

The shop talk at Asoka’s Superbowl bar-b-que could get pretty lively this year.

WOW – political bias. Who whooda thunk it ???

The surveillance and spin industries, chocked full of beltway condo paying employees such as Asoka take the position that ‘WE ARE AT WAR’. The giving up of a few liberties that nobody ever talks about now happened over a decade and a half ago. Now the apparatchik employees who’s gravy train it is to peek and poke are entrenched in a bastion of bureaucracy in an arrangement they wish to continue.

This with an attitude of WE ARE AT WAR combined with electronic toys and paychecks à la “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” and the result is certain. POLITICAL BIAS results.

“I am fearful when I see people substituting fear for reason.” <– Klattu (1951)

Klattu said that long before surveillance and spin became the industry it is now. The Klattu of 1951 were he to visit us now would pass us by. We would not be unlike a small two street Midwest town with one unused grain silo and no services. An off-ramp on an interstate trip not taken is what we would be to Klattu now.

    Outsider,

you’re right of course, there’s no requirement that whatever replaces the Democrats will be better. As you say, it could well be worse. You’re right that one apparent alternative to the Democratic Party, one that’s still in a formative stage, looks and smells evil.

I said it myself in an earlier post, that if there’s authoritarian and fascistic tendencies in the USA, they aren’t in the heartland, ie Trump country, but rather in places where Deep State media organs like the NY Times would rather we not look, and where they’re deliberately mis-directing our attention away from: those leafy, green campuses for the exorbitantly privileged.

But if the Democrats are a dying institution ie just a thin – cough – “progressive” cover for oligarch interests in the nation’s capitol, in my estimation the Republicans are dead, dead, dead.

What have the Republicans got? What do they incessantly quack about? Tax cuts? Done deal. Now what? The Democrats have got identity politics and race hustlers. What about the Republicans?

Why on earth should anyone that isn’t in the upper economic echelons vote for a Republican? What do Republicans promise to bring except maybe more poverty and more despair? Trump’s winning the Republican nomination exposed the maggot-ridden decay inside the GOP. Time to bury the carcass.

The question is what takes the place of the Republican Party? I think the answer could be right where you’d expect it to be, in local and state legislatures where the party, at least in name, is still alive. I think that whatever replaces the GOP will start there.

And if it bears only passing resemblance to its institutional Republican predecessor, it’s because it won’t really be a NATIONAL party but rather a collection of state parties, that is, a local-ist force or fragmentation-ist, for lack of better words. At least, that’s how I see it taking shape. And one that isn’t about projecting America’s alleged power to protect its supposed global “interests” but rather one that, as Bannon and Trump have said, is about America First, or to put it another way, AMERICANS First. And so, besides being one whose concerns are focused and divided among America’s constituent states, it will be a party of contraction from the outside world, back to where a whole lotta stuff needs to be done, within state and national boundaries.

Does this cede the national stage to Democrats? It could happen and if the Democrats continue with their authoritarian tendencies, it could get ugly and it could spawn rebellion. But I don’t think it necessarily so, whatever replaces the Republican Party on the national level could still be the political and philosophical vanguard for the effective dismantling of the nation state that long since stopped serving the great majority of the people it was meant to serve. Because the most basic question of all is this: is the state there to serve your interests or is it the other way around?

Could it all go completely to shit? You bet.

    • tucsonspur February 3, 2018 at 4:04 pm #

The nation overall is in a state of despair. I am not in the upper economic echelons, and I voted for Trump to save the nation. That is, to protect its borders, change its immigration policies, be tougher on crime and terrorism, and to stop the thought warping warfare of political correctness.

And Trump getting the nomination quite vividly exposed the rats, the rot, and the rifts in the Democratic Party. Donna Brazile and the cheating. The undermining of Sanders. And on top of it all, the attempt to stop Trump both before AND after the election by Deep State lies and sabotage.

And the disgusting meeting of Bill Clinton with the brown blob of a butterball.

Would there be less poverty if Hillary was elected? I doubt it. Maybe, because of more welfare? All of the rackets, finance, medical, educational, etc., ran well under Obama.

The rifts and faults in the Republican Party are also apparent. But it’s the Democrats, through Hillary and Obama, that have reached new lows. The faces of Schumer and Pelosi during the SOTU seemed to show awareness of their own ineffective ideas. Trump was the mirror in which they saw themselves, and the image was revolting.

We need leadership and law enforcement, but I don’t know for sure if Trump can seize and handle the reins, if the horses stampede.

The Democrats are already dead, but they just don’t know it. Blacks, Browns, campus leftists and Diversity make them seem alive and capable of being resuscitated.

That is a false dichotomy. The government of the United States is a government of, by, and for the people. The people are the government.

        “me, not I” –Q

The plural verb “are” is implied and unstated: “They are just folks like you and I [are]”. In the subordinate clause, writers often repeat the verb appearing in the main clause. They introduce the subordinate clause with like:

“I need a new car like I need a hole in the head.” (Or would you, Q, say “like me need a hole in the head”?

In any case, “me” is only used in the objective case, as in the object of a preposition. In the sentence you have questioned “I” is needed because “I” is used as a subject, not an object.

To go by Trump’s public positions, it remains a question whether he understands the Constitution.

From early in his campaign, critics have been consistently astonished by his seeming indifference to the Constitution, as he has launched attacks on the press, on mosques, and on other institutions explicitly protected by the Bill of Rights.

Or consider Trump’s private meeting with Republican members of Congress, when the candidate expressed his admiration for Article 12 of the Constitution, apparently unaware that there are only seven Articles. “He was just listing out numbers,” said Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-Texas), a Trump supporter.

This isn’t just a technicality: The presidential oath of office demands that the president “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

How can he protect something that he doesn’t seem to grasp, and whose underlying philosophy he seems outright hostile to?

Did anyone in the readership catch Bill Maher’s program last night? The final guest was none other than “The Mooch”, Anthony Scaramucci, former White House Director of Communications…All 11 days worth of tenure.

He did a great job of silencing the two uber liberals on the program…it was enjoyable to hear him fight his way out of that den of wolves….

Save for his comment on Steve Bannon’s ability to self-fellate himself, he would have been one of the great ones. On the show he did correct himself and admitted that Bannon probably could not perform the feat (but who among us hasn’t tried?).

I would opine that if Bannon could, indeed, perform the act, he probably would never leave from the bridge under which he sleeps.

Nunes’ Memorandum and the Deep State

Nunes’ interview, showed that his memorandum, as expected, is the tip of the Weisberg, sorry – iceberg, and the underwater part of the Weisberg, sorry – iceberg, is so huge that I’ve been scouring the Internet for 3 hours trying to find confirmation of Nunes’ hints, and as a result I find irrefutable confirmation of my long-standing suspicions of which I had a mystical precognition many years ago.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/nunes-addresses-release-memo-fallout-233616866.html

In particular, in addition to the memorandum, he accused Hillary Clinton of cooperating with Russian intelligence, and I first realized that these accusations are not the kind “you too” accusations that she makes quite officially against Donald Trump, but the very conscientious statements of a very informed man whose duty is to control all American intelligence and counterintelligence.

It is another matter that, with the closest examination of the Nunes’ words, this Russian intelligence service, with which Hillary Clinton collaborated, was the organizer of anti-Putin protests in 2011-2012, known as the revolution of the pussy fur coats, the ritual sacrifice-assassination of Boris Nemtsov and the liquidation of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

And he hinted that Hillary Clinton was the initiator of the creation of a Deep State, but not to fight Trump, but to fight President Bush Jr. using the 911 method and to fight President Obama, whom she overthrew several times.

Moreover, the juxtaposition of these hints against Trump’s publication of the Kennedy assassination files suggests that this Russian intelligence, with which Hillary Clinton is collaborating, is directly related to the deaths of Abakumov, Stalin and Beria, and was therefore associated with Khrushchev’s coup d’etat and transferring of Crimea to Ukraine.

    • FincaInTheMountains February 3, 2018 at 3:16 pm #

was therefore associated with Khrushchev’s coup d’etat and transferring of Crimea to Ukraine

Therefore it has a direct relation on the beginning of the anti-Semitic campaign in the USSR, as a result of which Stalin and Beria were killed.

Jeesh! Just a reminder that the key law enforcement figures in what Trump and his henchmen characterize as the “deep state” are neither lefties nor Democrats: they are Republicans. And Trump picked a number of them himself.

One more time, the two-party US political system is D-E-A-D, and it’s been dead probably since 1992 election, when Hillary hired Ross Perot as a spoiler for Republican candidate George Bush.

Before that all sorts of gentlemen agreements were ruling the political life of the US, for instance the tradition to never criticize the newly-elected President for the first 100 days of his learning curve.

Don’t forget the BLS! Now that Trump is trumpeting a 4.1% unemployment rate, we must trust the BLS… or could Trump be lying… could the economy be in trouble?

Stocks ended their worst week in two years last Friday, with the Dow dropping 665 points or 2.5 percent, its largest decline since June 2016.
Trump is crashing the economy with his reckless and inept “governing.” Under Trump’s “leadership” growth is turning negative. Get used to more scary Fridays, more whole scary weekends, and more scary Mondays. JHK’s DOW at 4,000 may become reality.

The events of the last days made us remember again not only the disintegration of the bipartisan political system of the USA into the “Clinton” clan and the “Bush” clan, but also that whole countries and military-political alliances have joined these clans over the past 25 years, turning these clans into something a-la axis Rome – Berlin – Tokyo on the eve of World War II.

This suggests that the intra-American confrontation goes far beyond the country, involving in it, in fact, all other world clans on one side or the other. And since this struggle has almost acquired a worldwide character, then the stakes in it are increasing every day, because the winner will get the whole world, and the losing party will be finally written off as a scrap of world history. That is why the aggravation of the US domestic political struggle acquires truly unprecedented forms.

It should also be specially noted that the “Bush” and “Clinton” clans are not euphemisms of the Republican and Democratic parties, but are inter-party entities, with their benefits and punishments, as well as clan discipline and clan philosophy that stretch over the party lines. This division significantly changes and sharpens domestic political life in the US, because former traditional schemes and methods for analyzing the political processes taking place in the United States, stop working and be adequate to the new political reality.

The NAFTA agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico, prepared by George Bush senior, but signed by Bill Clinton in 1993, after several amendments to the treaty, which allowed President Clinton to abolish financial regulation.

This, in fact, triggered the madness of the printing press of the 90’s, which became a reverse side of the medal of the so-called Bill Clinton super bowl – the growth of the US stock market by about 60% per year, while the “real economy” grew by only 5% a year max.

It is noteworthy that the inexperienced early in his presidential career, Bill Clinton, in his speech on the signing of the NAFTA, said that he was persuaded to sign the agreement by the US military, explaining that it was critical for ensuring US national security. This to some extent explains the secrecy surrounding the NAFTA signing process, but the main reason was the so-called accelerated procedure for passing this treaty through the Congress, in which Congressmen can either reject or approve the whole agreement, but can not amend it.

Bush really wanted to sign this treaty before the elections, but did not have time, as it turned out, forever.

NAFTA in fact, caused the collapse of the political philosophies of both the Democratic and Republican parties in 1992.

Suffice it to say that Bill Clinton came to power with the help of the spoiler of the 1992 presidential election by the name of Ross Perot, whose program practically did not differ from the election program of George Bush Sr., except for the unrestrained criticism of the NAFTA treaty that President Bush had so persistently lobbied for. As a result, Ross Perot took away almost 20% of the votes, that is, the votes of those who were ready to vote for the Republican president, but were dissatisfied with the secrecy surrounding the NAFTA approval.

Thus, it was Ross Perot who led Bill Clinton to the White House, and with him the entire current establishment of the Democratic Party.

This was a violation of all conceivable and inconceivable gentlemen’s agreements on the principles of the work of the US bipartisan system, without which the written laws in any society are turned into empty sound, and society itself becomes a “collective” of separatists, under the yoke of dictators from the opposite party.

It is not surprising that the Bushes returned a favor to Clintonoids during the 2000 elections, when George W. Bush’s victory was decided by the Florida court, whose governor was another son of George Bush, Jeb.

You understand that after such an exchange of courtesies in 1992 and 2000, the bipartisan political culture of the United States could not fail to crack.

In retrospect, it is clear that then America began to give up its high-tech industry and jobs not to Mexico and Canada, but to China, most of its products were sold at Cherkizon Market in Russia, depriving from work not so much of the American hi-tech industry as Russia’s light industry. In the 90’s, more than 80% of the plants in Russia were lying in ruins, and in this situation, Bill Clinton felt very comfortable, catching geopolitically tasty fish in the turbid waters of Yugoslavia and Chechnya.

This idyll lasted a long time until the Asian economic crisis destroyed it, and the Russian default and the fall of the ruble made Chinese goods uncompetitive in the Russian market. This upset Bill Clinton so much that he ordered bombing of Serbia, and by “mistake”, the Chinese embassy in Belgrade fall victim to high-precision American weapons.

Which hints at the fact that something went wrong in China, and the world project of Clintonoids, glorified by Fukuyama, gave the first failure.

A more detailed analysis of what was happening shows that then, the subject of disputes were not the contracts themselves, but financial regulators of these contracts, that is, control over the printing press that Bill Clinton abolished in 1992 under the pretext of protecting the domestic producer from the awful and terrible NAFTA.

If the story repeats(as it would if Madam became President), then any struggle with the economic crisis will turn into Sisyphean labor, since no reform will yield results if the printing press continues to print money into the pocket of thieves and swindlers.

No matter how much dollars you tie up with new goods and services, or even burn with inflation, an irascible printing press, which lacks the brakes of financial regulation, will print more.

Oh, sure, John, mass species extinction, depleted fish stocks, pollution, soil erosion, desertification, declining freshwater supplies, deforestation, over-population, ocean acidification, coral bleaching, oceanic dead zones, the rise of jellyfish, and now we learned that insect populations are in steep decline etc., are all just a hoax perpetrated by scientists for money.

The cognitive dissonance on the right has obviously manifested itself as the most retarded instance of mass denial in human history, with a big bump from a decades-long multi-billion-dollar PR & think tank denial campaign that worked wonders creating an entire army of amateur denier warriors spreading the lies via the internet. Now they all can see and feel the consequences, but to admit it’s time to prepare the country for more and worse would be to admit they were wrong and that is akin to death for true believers. The result is the country and its populous remains unprepared and unprotected. This is how denial destroys lives and eventually the country.

Denial is a coping mechanism, although even the denialists know that the Earth’s life support system is crashing. Denialism is a coping mechanism, albeit destructive. The signs are everywhere, In North America, Honeybees and native pollinators are in a steep decline. Bats are dying in the millions due to White Nose Syndrome (as with the bees, a combination of negative factors is causing the immune system of bats to crash), and has spread from the Northeast to the South and Midwest. Amphibian species around the world are going extinct in unprecedented numbers due to Chytrid. With the loss of each species, another intricate link in the chain of life is lost. The system is imploding.

“The destruction of the natural world is not the result of global capitalism, industrialization, ‘Western civilization’ or any flaw in human institutions. It is a consequence of the evolutionary success of an exceptionally rapacious primate. Throughout all of history and prehistory, human advance has coincided with ecological devastation.”

The Republican $1.5 trillion tax cut is bearing fruit for the deplorables in flyover country. On Saturday, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) tweeted an item about a public school employee seeing an extra $1.50 in her weekly paycheck thanks to the Republican tax bill.

$1.50 extra in her paycheck! She is one of the lucky ones. The Labor Force Participation Rate in January 2018 was 62.7 percent.

Remember all Trump’s promises to save coal. More lies from Trump. The majority of coal-producing states actually lost jobs last year: Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, Wyoming, Indiana, New Mexico and Texas were down for the year.

    • janet February 4, 2018 at 12:49 am #

Gas prices could hit $4 a gallon by Memorial Day. So that $1.50 increase in the school teacher’s paycheck is cancelled by Trump’s increased inflation. US stocks have already slid to their biggest loss (666) under the Trump presidency on Federal Reserve inflation fears.

    • janet February 4, 2018 at 1:02 am #

The dollar has shed almost 13% versus other leading currencies since Trump became president. Trump’s moves to slash taxes and boost spending are coming at the wrong time and will pile on more government debt, making investors less eager to own dollar assets, like U.S. Treasury bonds. Trump’s policies are sending an implicit but very clear signal to markets: A weaker dollar is the goal and markets have understood the signal. Trump is bad for the USA economy, bad for the deplorables who voted for Trump, but great for Trump’s billionaire friends, and for Trump himself. It is theft, plain and simple… A $1.50 extra in a paycheck cannot compensate for the magnitude of the Trump’s theft from the common working people.

That’s right, Janet. Those of us paying attention know the Republican game plan for which they require a dumbed down public and feckless media. Tax cuts for the wealthy and a few shekels for the rest of us poor slobs to create the illusion that the tax plan was created for our well-being.
The Republicans know full well that the tax cuts will blow a huge hole through the deficit. Then it will be time to implement the second part of the plan. Claim the deficits are unaffordable. Since raising taxes on the wealthy is anathema as well as cuts to a bloated military, what’s left except Social Security and Medicare. This will be Ryan’s moment to gut Medicare and Social Security. This coupled with the Republicon’s successful elimination of defined benefit plans in the 1980s will spell disaster for tens of millions of Americans.

      Tucon,
I have a prediction…if the spread during the game exceeds 14 points, the team ahead in points will immediately go into the “prevent defense”, with a three man rush, and allow the other team to “miraculously” score, and get the game close enough to keep “meat in the seat” for the numerous commercials that will be aired.

Any journeyman quarterback can move a team up the field against the “prevent”…usually in seconds…hence the last minute “miracles”….

          Q,
I wish to hell I wasn’t. I have been a big fan of the NFL since the late 50’s. In the mid-90’s I recognized this pattern. Understand that any coach in the NFL will tell you that the “prevent” only prevents you from winning…and yet it is a constant in blow-out situations.

Why, when you have a defense that has totally shut the other team’s offense down, and you are 17+ points ahead, would you change your obviously effective defense to one that allows the opposing team to march up the field as if they were playing against your scrubs? It defies logic…but it does keep the games close…and allows the fans to believe in miracles.

The NFL is first and foremost a business, an entertainment business…I wish it were otherwise.

Do you remember Bum Phillips? Coached the Chicago Bears back in the 80’s…he ran a brutal defense and ran almost undefeated one year. A weaker dollar is the goal and markets have understood the signal. Trump is bad for the USA economy == janet

But there is one more clarification: all these considerations apply to US citizens who are interested in the US debt diminishing.

But it is natural for those US citizens who are its creditors to experience a conflict of interest, as they are concerned not only in receiving their money back (with interest) that they lent to the US, but also in the relative influence of this money on the US policy.

And the influence of money, their strength is not expressed in numbers and requires a completely different analysis.

But in the politics, the force of debt has a full clarity and it seems obvious to me that Trump expresses the interests of US citizens who, through their citizenship are debtors, and Clintonoids are expressing the interests of US creditors.

In order to understand this, it is sufficient to take, in the first approximation, that the force or influence of debt is described by the amount of US debt expressed in what is a natural quantitative indicator, such as a barrel of Brent oil, and look at the corresponding chart.

How Kennedy Assassination is Connected with the Murder of Stalin and Nunes’ Memorandum

Very sketchy, purely to show that Trump does not do anything just for show and, declassifying the documents about Kennedy’s murder, he actually made a far-reaching move and hung a gun, which in the last act will certainly shoot.

Among the documents on the death of Kennedy, declassified by Trump, an honorable place is occupied by the intercepted report of the Russian Embassy in Mexico about how Oswald appeared there in September of 1963.

And in this report it was said that Oswald after two years of life in the USSR spoke so poor Russian that the embassy employee could hardly understand him.

And Warren’s commission, which was investigating the Kennedy assassination, is literally overwhelmed by the testimony of Oswald and Marina’s neighbors, their acquaintances, professors at the university, some actors about how well Oswald spoke Russian.

Conclusion: Oswald in the USSR lived in a specially arranged conditions and could not learn the language, but this interfered with the Warren Commission findings and it organized these testimonies.

Consequently, Oswald was sent to the USSR by the US special services in preparation for his role as the “official killer who came from the USSR of the President of the United States” in September of 1959, that is, a month and a half before Kennedy announced his candidacy.

This may mean that Oswald began to prepare for the role of a patsy for the killer of any US president, but after the 1956 elections it became clear that in 1960 John Kennedy would very likely become president of the United States.

The list of the enemies of the Kennedy clan in the United States is well known, but for Oswald’s stay in the USSR, one of them had to have an accomplice in the KGB, who provided Oswald with the “special” conditions of stay in Minsk.

Oddly enough, there are a lot of memories about Oswald’s stay, and those that are written on the instructions of competent comrades are not so difficult to determine.

It remains to trace their biography back in time and forward. The journey back gives an intersection with the Doctor’s Plot and Stalin’s death, and the journey forward (taking into account Soviet and Russian nepotism) proves very fruitful in terms of finding the intersection of the names with the Black Project in the USSR and their participation in the five-year stretch of magnificent funerals, in particular, in the deaths of Masherov, Tsvigun and Suslov.

And from here it is not far to those who helped Hillary generate a Steele dossier on Donald Trump in Russia, which, according to Nunes’ memorandum, served as the basis for the FISA court to permit the wiretapping of Trump’s counselor Page, which in turn became the basis for the appointment of Mueller special prosecutor as the head of the investigation of Trump’s election campaign relations with Russia.

The death of Stalin in 1953 stopped his plans during the First Korean War of landing the 14th Assault Army in Alaska under the command of General Oleshev with a mission to move down to Seattle and capture the Boeing factories.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/14th_Army_(Soviet_Union)

That was done to disrupt what Stalin considered as the Truman plans for a surprise nuclear attack against the USSR:

On October 8, 1950 at 16:17 local time, two US Air Force fighters Lockheed F-80C “Shooting Star” violated the state border of the USSR and, having advanced almost 100 km inside the Soviet territory, attacked the Soviet military airfield near the Dry River 165 km from Vladivostok. During the bombardment by the US Air Force planes were damaged in the parking lot , one burned down completely.

St Ignatius (the God Bearer) of Antioch while on his way to the Arena, “I am the wheat of Christ, and I must be crushed by the teeth of wild beasts so that I may be converted into immaculate bread.”

“I thank in whom I don’t believe, that I have lived to this hour when I can express all the evil in my heart.” A torturer of Christians in Communist Romania heard by Richard Wurmbrand, Founder of Voice of the Martyrs.

You have to choose. No man can serve God and serve Mammon, or the Church and Communism, or Christ and Stalin. The latter believe only in matter and hate those who believe in Spirit. So far, you are choosing wrongly, trying to drag down Christianity to the level of these butchers.

    REPUBLICAN DILEMMA

As a responsible citizen, I have to make a choice about the THE MEMO. Do I believe Robert Mueller III, a Marine who served 2 tours of duty in South Vietnam, awarded 2 medals (one a Purple Heart), a graduate of Princeton University, served as FBI Director for 12 years under 3 different presidents, is a registered Republican, was Deputy Attorney General (serving in 2001), was instrumental in establishing America’s first terrorist data base and has scrupulously maintained a bi-partisan investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 elections. Or do I believe Donald J. Trump, a realty TV star with 3 military deferments (and didn’t serve because of ‘bone spurs’), a business man with 6 bankruptcies, who has had 3,500 lawsuits (169 of them federal), a serial misogynist with 14 assault suits pending, and a daddy who was having an affair with a porn star while his wife was at home with their new baby.

Boy, tough choice. It’s like the Republicans did the old prank of pooping in a paper bag, putting it on a porch and setting it on fire. Except this time, it was their own porch.

      DEMOCRAT DILEMMA

“If we look back at where we were 3 months ago–my how the pendulum has swung!

We had a MSM and the leftists acting as if they had the legal POTUS practically in manacles. The Russia narrative was non-stop and some toadies that had even the slightest connection to the POTUS and Russia ( no matter how slight, legal or decades old) were being indicted and subpoenaed for the tiniest of issues.

Q posts started coming out telling us not to despair. Telling us that really, really big, HUGELY big things were going on in the background. All of the sudden active players of the corruption were disappearing. The big faces like Abedin, Jarrett, BHO, Podestas etc who were commenting daily like sharks who smelled blood have seemed to vanish from public view. Brazile and others have come out and tried to distance themselves and even some spooks like McCabe have hastily resigned.

The big tell is that the dems now look like mourners instead of their usual, pompous and smug, chin-lifted and smirking elites that they beliee themselves to be. The narrative has shifted from attack, attack and bogus lying to spin control, obfuscation and efforts to distance or defend themselves.

I HOPE we get military tribunals but I can hear the Nazi accusations already. So what! We are all called Nazis anyhow so maybe the left’s constant name-calling of Americans will work against them. We have become so accustomed to the monikers that they have lost their power.

A military tribunal will be the only way we could get a non-partisan judicial decision on punishment for those involved. The fact that the DOJ, FBI etc are involved almost MANDATES that a military tribunal be used to avoid any conflicts of interest ( the DOJ can’t prosecute their own fairly.)“

      Irreconcilable differences?

      • Janos Skorenzy February 4, 2018 at 3:05 pm #

Yes, if the Memo is invalid because it’s “Republican” that’s just another way of saying we can’t live in the same nation. Just as if Blacks can’t be taught by Whites (as some Blacks now believe) then complete segregation is the only answer. Or if Whites can make simple civil requests of Blacks without rage, threats and physical attack, then we don’t belong in the same State.

Too much diversity on all levels of ethnicity, values, beliefs predicates separation.

    The Nunes Memo

Here’s why the FBI did not want to be released. It confirmed that the FBI and Department of Justice abused their surveillance authority to target Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. It describes a criminal conspiracy on the part of the FBI, namely FRAUD UPON THE COURT.

The FBI has stonewalled Congress’ demands for information for nearly a year. They are correct insofar as the release calls into question the integrity of the FBI and DOJ, but to those that Watch Alex Jones that was obvious for months and years.

The White House made no redaction to the memo. The release puts Trump at odds with the FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Both have urged Trump not to release it for fear that it would really make them look very bad, that is, they would be exposed for the criminal co-conspirators that they are.

The memo lays it out that the very top law enforcement officials knowingly used manufactured information to convince a court to give them warrants to spy. Warrants to in effect frame and blackmail political opponents.

So, either the FBI told the court the source of their information, or they did not. The best FBI can do is come forward and prove that they did indeed yessiree inform the court that the source of their paid info came from the Hillary campaign and so the criminal here is also the FISC judge(s) that allowed this criminal charade to occur.

The memo also makes clear that the Mueller probe is based on manufactured fraud.

What should happen next is very simple. Those that argued before the court and those that have lent their signature to this FRAUD should stand for criminal charges. Then they will sing and we will get to the full picture of how deep this conspiracy is.

Hopefully the tentacles of the CIA and State Department will also be exposed in this. The whole aleph-bet soup of fed agencies and CIA media outlets is one disgusting commie criminal gov mafia.

After witnessing recent events and becoming more aware of the extent and depth of corruption, the public may be more receptive to, or at least acquiescent to a “purge”.

Staying within the law as you mention may be the better way to go. But will it work? Who would prosecute?

      • messianicdruid February 4, 2018 at 4:39 pm #

“The tactics laid out in the Nunes Memo are nothing short of the crap that the KGB and other similar government “hit squads” in various corrupt nations employ on a daily basis. They have no place in American politics or American jurisprudence. Any American, and especially any American who happens to sit in an office that writes or enforces laws, including but not limited to our Constitution, who fails to immediately demand that the every person involved in the acts called out in the Nunes Memo be stripped of their office and immediately indicted is violating, on a daily basis, their oath of office and has forfeit through their direct action any claim to authority of said office and additionally has declared The Constitution void.

In short we no longer live in a Representative Republic governed by a Constitution and body of law. We now live in a thug-led dictatorship where even those who have said thuggery directed against them, once they assume power, intentionally leave said thugs in place and with power for the explicit purpose of using same against their enemies.”

    More:

“But what Schiff, as well as some Republicans, are concerned with is how the public will process and respond to the existence of a massive, coordinated effort to exercise unelected political power.

They are concerned the extent of the coordination between the state and elements of financial and corporate sectors exposes the hidden reality of how real power is exercised in Washington and the financial center in New York, the power behind the reach of the atrophied mechanisms of democratic accountability and control.” — Ajamu Baraka

    https://www.counterpunch.org/2018/02/02/liberal-totalitarianism-and-the-trump-diversion/

That’s what it’s all about: Exposure of long ongoing conspiracies.

Note that while this bluster and bellowing has been playing out, FISA court surveillance has been re-authorized. Remember that; nothing has yet been done to ‘correct’ any of this yuge rotten pile of [supposedly] anti-American collusion by agencies outside the strictures of the Constitution.

Question: Are these kinds of nefarious plots and machinations now *features* of “The American Way”, rather than distasteful anomalies? It sure seems that it’s got defenders of the status quo in an uproar and full-on coverup and distancing mode.

    • FincaInTheMountains February 4, 2018 at 2:36 pm #

No attacks of the Light Cavalry Brigade should be expected – it will be a slow constitutional process, probably starting from creating a new security agency – independent council to investigate the abnormalities in the DOJ and FBI.

The rabbit hole goes much deeper than just the unlawful surveillance of the Trump campaign, to the events of the last 6 months of the Obama Presidency, to September 11 2001, and possibly all the way back to November 22, 1963.

      • tucsonspur February 4, 2018 at 3:17 pm #

After this, Trump could only direct a blow to the heads of the “hawks” in the CIA and the Pentagon, demanding that they find an adequate response to this threat.

Judging by the fact that the leadership of the CIA and Defense Intelligence Agency did not refuse to meet with their counterparts from the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation and the GRU, “the leak is accounted for,” and the terrorist threat is recognized as a priority.

President Trump’s declassification of the documents on the assassination of President Kennedy was a preparation for the finale of the drama witnessed today by the Americans as a result of the publication of the Nunes’ memorandum, when the unknown persons brought down the studio equipment 15 minutes before the Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace – main political show of the only pro-Trump television channel FOX5.

This combination of insanity and Deep State in America was foreseen by the great artists almost forty years ago, becoming the theme of perhaps the two best American movies, one of which thundered all over the world, and the other was trampled in the mud by critics who sold themselves to the Deep Throat.

And perhaps only now, after the publication of the Nunes’ memorandum and the documents on the murder of Kennedy, this film will be appreciated, including in combination with its half-brother, that became famous more than forty years ago.
