When this chapter of US history is finally written, it will look like a deep dive into a vat of lentil soup. In Syria Friday night, we came, we saw, and we slung 103 cruise missiles into largely symbolic targets, including a supposed chemical weapons plant just outside Damascus, and some other places where we were not likely to kill Russian military personnel. The Russians apparently decided to just suck it up, knowing that the civil war in Syria is nearly over. Then what?
Will the US tolerate what has effectively become a Russian client state in the Levant, with some Iranian sprinkles on top? The Saudi Arabians clearly don’t relish that prospect, and one wonders how much the nominal Saudi leader, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, put the squeeze on US officials (including the Golden Golem of Greatness) to do something (!) when he paid a call here a few weeks ago. Israel may not like having Hezbolah’s patron, Iran, camped on their doorstep, but there’s reason to believe that Bibi and Putin understand each other well enough, and that Russia will do what’s necessary to moderate the Iran-Hezbolah-Shia axis of maniacs. Israel’s February strike against Syrian air defense installations was a reminder to all concerned that they will act on their own when they choose to. Finally, Russia certainly has no interest in protecting the caliphate maniacs, since the Bear has plenty of restive Islamic factions in its neighboring former soviet republics.
The various moves and statements having been made, the balance of power in Syria may be settling into a sort of freeze. Actually, anything that arrests the process of Syria turning into another failed Middle East state is better than the alternative. Before al Qaeda, Isis, and their many mutant armies showed up, before Russia came on the scene, before the US set this regional meltdown in motion next door in Iraq, Syria was not the world’s problem. But neither, really, was Vietnam in 1963.
All this raises the question: when will reasonable people in the USA — if there are any left — begin to see the Russia-meddling-in-our-election story as a botched attempt to cook up a giant distraction from America’s own swan dive into failed state-hood? The moves on that game-board have been so crude and bizarre that the very machinery of the republic is melting down as if on-purpose. President Trump begins to look like a pitiful, helpless, hostage to unseen forces. For the moment he can’t control a rogue Department of Justice, even when they trespass on a pillar of due process by seizing his personal attorney’s papers and computer records. He does what his generals tell him to do in the war room. He affects to combat all this chaos and incoherence with his illiterate barks and squawks on the ridiculous Twitter platform. And there seems to be no way forward from this morass except through more broken institutions and disorder.
So far, the financial system has not disintegrated, though fissures have been showing for weeks in the extreme volatility of markets. These markets are watched over and massaged by that other arm of the Deep State, the Federal Reserve and its ancillary forces in the “primary dealer” too-big-to-fail banks. It’s amazing to see the stresses that these markets are withstanding, and rather than attribute it to some mythic “strength of the economy,” I’d wager that it has more to do with the marshaling of algos and bots to do whatever it takes to preserve some veneer of normality.
When that line of defense here at home cracks, nobody will give a barreling fuck about Russia, or Syria, and the great barge of wishes that Donald Trump sailed in on may finally sink. Even if the DOJ Inspector General’s coming report on FBI political misdeeds prompts a severe housecleaning of the FBI, and drives a stake into the heart of the Mueller investigation, a Wall Street train wreck will kill any delusions about the USA turning back into the 1955 “Life of Riley” utopia that dreams are made of. Reputations in government and the media will be shredded and even the bystanders will be tainted for failing to show reality its due respect.

We’ve been waiting nigh unto 10 years now for the Wall Street denouement to occur, and we may well wait another 100 years. The oligarchs have a steel-grip hold on the market, in the form of their puppet — the Fed — and we would have to pry their cold, dead hands off that puppet in order for the market to truly crash.
And that ain’t happening anytime soon.
It is truly amazing how the long interest rates have been stabilized at such low rates. It has to have been one of the most impressive examples of financial manipulation in human history. But, it will end and much sooner than a hundred years; maybe as soon as this year. No force can keep a lid on a mountain of bad debt forever and, when it ends, it will be a wonder to behold.
Yes, I wonder about that too. 10 years or so it was extra-ordinary measures and we are still here in a wondful economy. How can it be both ways. Their policy drcimated me. Thanks Federal Reserve.
If I am not mistaken, the American public is being played hard by the threat of another Stock Market Crash and/or a repeat of the Great Depression. In the 1920’s I do believe that there were a lot more individual, private stockholders that pulled their cash out of the failing market as it sank. Today’s “Stock Market”, from what I have been able to discover, is far more populated with investments by huge hedge funds, institutions, pension funds, you name it, 90% claimed by some. If this is true then even if all of the individual investors pulled out totally in one day, you would see a 10% dip at best. Why would the big institutions pull out their cash? Surely there is not enough cash to cover it all anyway considering how overvalued it all is now. Nope, I think that it is impossible and that the occasional “dips” are manufactured solely as distraction.

The whole thing about vested interests keeping the status quo going ad infinitum is what the world of empires is all about.
They all managed to keep a revenue stream for generations,

Act 3. The big love scene: Trump and Putin do Romeo & Juliet, audience confused. Back to sleep. China offers no refunds.
One could argue it was a success. Placates the moral outrage of establishment left and their odd bedfellows, the neocons, without precipitating broader war. A win-win.

Or, if one prefers, a Commedia dell Arte Punch and Judy show with the same scripted dialogue, music, and actions. The U.S.S.A. is the venerable Punch with the bat, hitting whoever gets in the way and it looks good — all that contrived anger and angst over chemical weapons use and animal actors. Yet in the final analysis, the puppetmaster will ensure nothing really gets broken so that tomorrow’s matinee can be another success.
And you can be damn sure there is a spectrum of other theatrical performances available for the audiences to devour: soccer, basketball, Coachella, Fakebook disclosures, gay lawyers self-immolating, special counsel investigations, porn star kiss-and-tell, country music awards, HBO and Netflix special presentations….

Listening to the Clown Prez on TV last Friday, spouting his profound disgust at the actions of Assad, I recalled with horro that photograph of a young Vietnamese girl, naked, running down the road, literally on fire from US Napalm. Huh.
And all that Agent Orange defoliant that is still killing people comes to mind, along with the depleted uranium waste all over the Middle East since Desert Storm and the sequel shows of “shock & awe”.
When it comes down to it, the USA is no better than any other global warmonger. Bah, humbug!

When Obama’s famous red line was crossed in 2013 in a prior chemical weapons false flag, the Brits, under Cameron, voted whether to join the crusading Americans in striking Damascus. Parliament voted it down in a great day for democracy. It was a main reason why Obama backed down. This time Theresa May acted on her own, showing that she is as irrational as Trump. The UK has apparently gone back to being Washington’s poodle.

The UK has never stopped being America’s poodle. As I’ve said before, the leading Brexiters (as opposed to many of the actual voters) want us to keep on being a good poodle. They’re ‘Atlanticists’. And they’re happy to let corporate America eat up our NHS while they’re at it (not that it doesn’t have its faults and it’s cracking at the seams, but it’s a lot better than Elrond’s CT scan story).
May is desperate and it is Brexit that has made her so. A trade deal with the US is what they’re all pinning their desperate hopes on, now that the delusional promises they made to the Brexit voters have been shown up for what they were. So even if she doesn’t acknowledge it to herself, there’s a bias there that will help determine her decisions with regard to Trump and Trumpland (despite rapping his knuckles fairly ineffectively over minor issues like retweeting lies from white supremacist sites).
And the joke is that the trade deal, when it comes, will do to the UK what Trump does to all his business opponents.
I’m not a May fan, as you’ll have picked up. However, I gave her credit for more personal integrity than she may in fact have. Whether I’m right or wrong about that depends on how much she personally actually knows or has tried to find out.
It will be interesting to see what effect May’s and Macron’s joining with Trump on this patently illegal bombing will have on their popularity at home. The Euros, in general, seem to be much more skeptical of military engagement than are the braindead American yahoos. If history is any indication, Trump will get a TEMPORARY boost, but it’s not going to last more than a few days. It is interesting that his avowed enemies in the fake news media (CNN and MSNBC) support his action, while his base of nationalist antiwar conservatives condemn him.

There’s a ‘highlights’ version of her speech (and justification) about halfway down. I heard a lot of Tory braying (of support) on the news, but I think most MPs accept the chemical attack story, even if they disapprove of the missile strike.
I agree the ‘Europeans’ (which technically includes us but doesn’t!) are generally much more recalcitrant when it comes to the gung-ho military approach. It’s one of the many reasons the Brexit crowd (leaders, not voters) don’t like the EU!
So, I’m no further forward. I don’t know what May *really* knows, but then I don’t know what I *really* know either, sadly.
I just mentioned, ever so casually, to my husband that there are voices doubting if the gas attack was real and he looked at me as if I was weird. I think I’m going to have to wait for something more substantial!

Lawyers have to abide by the law same as the rest of us chumps. There had to be some serious evidence of criminality for the FBI to be able to get a warrant.

I agree 100%. All this noise about the raid is just that. Cohen is in deep shit and know’s it. There likely can be no legal ramifications against Trump from this raid, but a lot of under handed mafia type actions could be exposed. The GGG will be shown again to be less that the greatness he proposes to be.

But I agree Trump is up against a cabal of wealth and evil which makes his own look microscopic. They own enough of the system to keep checking his every move. Maybe, the only way to free humanity from this long, long oppression is to kill them all without mercy. And to hell with the law – their law.
The Mueller apologists say the warrant to raid the lawyers office must have been strong to get approved. But that assumes the process is by the book, when everything else in this investigation up to now has involved abuse of process.

The FBI is not just a little bit “imperfect”. It’s double dipped in pig shit and devoted to building an Orwellian dystopia of oppression.
I say “close it down”. Lock the doors one night and send in Marines to search for evidence of treason against the American people. Anyone of the little apparatchiks with the audacity to ask about his pension gets locked in a cage in GITMO.
The only part of your statement that I would take issue with is that there is no need to search for evidence, they have inundated us all with evidence and are guilty as hell. I say we send them all to Puerto Rico to rebuild the place using only spoons in return for “services already rendered”.

There is outrage in the media over an alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria, but silence over the war crimes committed by the US client state Saudi Arabia against the people of Yemen.
By now we should have grown accustomed to hypocrisy. It’s been going on for decades.
I was thinking the same thing. The sheer hypocrisy is unbelievable.
The relationship of both your country and mine to the House of Saud is one of the most egregious examples of hypocrisy on the current political and economic landscape. And we don’t just sell them stuff (weapons), we have to grease their palms with millions to get them to buy our stuff. You couldn’t make it up.
The connection to SA and the US stems back to 1943 when the US military leaders went to FDR and told him we did not have enough petroleum to conduct their war plans. FDR made a deal with Faisal, oil for protection. We are still backing that pact. Desert Storm was a direct followon to that pact. Our foreign policy in the region follows that pact.
Britain’s situation stems from the aftermath of WW1. The common denominator, oil. The first developer in the ME was Britain then the US. And we both are still there.

I remember fine. I don’t keep a car on the road for a multitude of very good reasons. Work, when I had to go out to do it, as opposed to now when I do it from home, was a 50-minute walk away. The bus, when I take it, is a hybrid – doesn’t solve the entire problem, but every little helps.

But if you have evidence that the laws of physics are in any way deterred by unscientific ideas dressed up as ‘anti-political correctness’, do have it peer reviewed and published and I promise to read it.
You can follow it up with a scientific study of the link between ‘Victorian puritanism’ and ‘political correctness’. You might want to include a paragraph or two on how ‘Victorian puritanism’ includes disputing your drivel about homosexuality. But you’ll have lost any sensible readers by that point.

Absolutely Jim, you have captured the reality of the situation most succinctly. Mr. Trump is either another war mongering murderer politician, or a helpless puppet who allows and condones it. Just as Barak Obama boasted coldly about killing a “bad guy” at a wedding along with everyone else that was there and Hillary Clinton squealed with glee after facilitating the rape and murder of poor witless Muammar, Mr. Trump is further evidence that the story has not changed, there are only new puppets on stage. And dangerous ones at that.
How is it that the American public cheers for it all? Does it really only take a thin and “trumped” up lie to garner their support for more death dealing? Perhaps the diet of Call of Duty video games has created a supply of anxious drone operators that chaff at the bit to show their stuff for real has finally taken hold. Do you know that the kids that do this actually sit at the control panels in Southwest bunkers wearing aviation flight suits, and pilot’s wings?
Perhaps I am being too harsh on them all, maybe nobody is being killed out there beyond our borders in reality. Perhaps it is all a lie, a Great Deception, a Wag the Dog for real. Maybe it is all a fireworks display that facilitates bigger and more expensive defense department spending for all of the player nations involved. Well regardless of whether it is or is not, an American public supporting murder for profit cannot, under any circumstances, be a good thing. Good has become bad and bad has become good. Right and wrong no longer seem to exist, and while the list of problems seems to grow longer every day, the list of solutions has long since gone missing.

The American public is kept in the dark by our illustrious intelligence community. Why do you think everything is redacted. How can the Deep State keep everything going their way with an informed public? First control the media by substituting actors for journalists, then dumb down the public with high levels of immigrants that do not know much and make public education ineffective and horribly racist. The ineffectiveness of the Congressional oversight function over the FBI is proof of the DS ability to control the government. Trump is being relatively unsuccessful at combatting the scope of the DS, much to the chagrin of his supporters. I am definitely rooting for his side though.
Comey just said that Dumping Trump will get the US public “off the hook”. Good Lord, that says it all. He blames the public for the Trump revolution and he in his sanctimonious manner is allowing us to fix up the mistake we made. What an unadulterated SOB. I am sure glad that Father James has given us his blessing.
Did you notice the uplifting music at the end? Jim Comey is a GOOD MAN who works with Blacks. He’s part of the solution to the White Problem. Blacks are the future and St Jim is willing to help immolate White America.

Just last week at a heated Planning Board meeting a hundred or so angry residents shouted out at the Board and the two Committeemen of their frustration at the deceiving and lying hat they, the crowd, had been dealt in this issue. They cried out that they felt like it was the people against the government, the Us verses Them going down. I sat within the crowd myself and asked around and after the meeting adjourned why they keep voting these same AH’s back into office, year after year. The multi faceted reason is thus. The R’s vote the “R” top line and there are no “D”s, but if there were they would vote the “D” top line. We call it the Magic Button. The incumbents or the new insiders are put on the top line ballot to remove a troublesome incumbent, (like me) because most voters simply hit the one line button electing all of the top line candidates. The other and more important problem is that nobody cares until it is too late. The are all entertained, distracted and worked into such states of mental disability that they are lucky if they can even get to work every day.
So when you vote next time, watch the people going in and coming out of the booth ahead of you. When it only takes them a minute or less to come back out, they have hit the Magic Button and did not really vote, because they don’t really care.
Very few should be voting as very few are qualified. The qualifications should be quite steep in terms of IQ, Knowledge of History, Knowledge of current events – which implies leisure, a record of service, which means military for most, and fiscally solvency. The last can’t take the place of the old requirement of owning land.
Can’t agree with you there, Janos. This is wishful thinking. I know lots of people who I consider too stupid to vote who have IQ, education, property, sufficient leisure. I have to admit that the longer I live the older I think I should have been before being able to vote. But maybe I am too hard on myself. I missed an awful lot of things that I should have been aware of, but at least I stopped believing the the Dems or the Reps made any difference about 30 years ago and stopped voting for them.

As far as government sponsored healthcare working out in America, there are some structural problems that would have to be repaired first. My longest old time buddy is an RN that works for a “healthcare” corporation. He makes big bucks administrating the Medicaid patients that he is given to oversee. Through legal technicalities we are actually allowing millions of foreign nationals to come to the US, sign the proper paperwork that will allow them to be medically treated for their ailments once they hit the ground. Their maladies vary all over the spectrum and when they are done they are even given prescriptions for OTC analgesics such as Tylenol, because by doing so, the government will pay for them as well. These people then go back to their home countries, where my friend maintains contact with them and makes sure they go for their follow up treatment back home with wellness visits and prescriptions all paid for buy US?
I am not making this up, I swear to you and my friend sometimes feels bad about it because it is clearly not right, but he cannot change the system so at lest he can profit from it. And the real money is raked in by the top execs who can easily afford to pay their political stooges to see to it that this never changes. Change THAT problem and then we can talk about handout programs.

People seem to forget that the government always mucks up anything they get involved in. But in some cases, the free market just does not work and the government , as bad as it is, is the only alternative. I was an RN for 17 years and I too believe that private free market will not work. Reason why? It is a monopoly now, the market is so full that there is no competition. And how much are we willing to pay to maintain our health? Anything! Monopolies like public service need to be regulated by governmental agencies as there is no one else to do it. Free marketeers will fight single payer health care but they will lose down the road. Many other countries have gone to single payer after trying alternatives that just did not work.
Health care in the southern half of the state of Georgia is dominated by two big medical conglomerates. They own all the hospitals and other medical facilities. There are essentially no Doctors in private practice, they all work for said monopolies. I needed an MRI and had one scheduled at a hospital which was going to cost me over $2000. I found a small clinic in the same community that would do the same procedure for about $600. I called the hospital to cancel my appointment for the test and the clerk asked why the cancellation. When I told her the reason was the difference in price, she was incredulous. That same hospital owned the clinic with the better deal. They have since made some changes and you can no longer get a more affordable price at the other facility.

My brother, a retired State Trooper, once assured me that if a husband even threatens his wife, the wife can call 911 and the State Troopers will come and get you, take any and all weapons that they find in your home and cart your sorry ass off to the can on an accusation alone and you are even likely to sustain a bit of a beating.
A couple of years ago, my neighbor and I were out in the fields watching the meteor shower happening at the time. All of a sudden two Troop rigs came flying up the road, lights a flashing. When the first car set off his siren, the second must have told him to STFU because he cut it off mid blast. The cars flew up to the top end of the field and whipped into the driveway of the neighbor across the road. We were able to move in close enough to clearly hear the conversation as the two Troopers took the husband outside (he is a retired local cop) and kindly advised him that beating up his wife was not totally acceptable and that he had better stop or some day they may actually do something about it. This incident was repeated once again a few moths later with the same result.

So Federal Judges are infallible, like the Pope? Are they never above politics? In fact, you have to be a political hack to become a Federal Judge, as the mediocracies sitting on the Supreme Court amply demonstrate. They are picked for those plum jobs by politicians, not by any kind of impartial merit selection.
The judicial system is the most corrupt part of the Deep State as they enable or cancel the other parts. Since the Presidency is anti-DS, and Congress is insane, the judges have become the main tool of the power base of the Deep State.
For the most part, Federal Judges (and most state judges) try very hard to be fair and to follow the law. But the issue of the search warrant is not a matter of fairness or fallibility. The law of search and seizure requires law enforcement to meet a pretty low standard – except where informants are involved. Those precedents have been around a long time and are well-established and understood by most jurists.
The bottom line is that in a very broad sense all law enforcement has to show is that the items they describe or list in the search warrant that they want to seize are proof, or may lead to proof, of the alleged criminal activity. In this case, it may be violation of campaign laws. It is a completely different question as to whether they will be used as evidence in a trial. If law enforcement lied in the affidavits supporting the search warrant then the evidence gathered as a result is the “fruit of the poisonous tree” and will be excluded. If it is subject to the attorney client privilege under the FRE and there is no exception it will be excluded. That cannot be determined unless the evidence is reviewed and subjected to the critical eye of lawyers and judges on both sides. That is the way it has always worked.

volodya, I recently watched two very interesting movies, Wag the Dog from Hollywood and Battalion, a Russian movie with subtitles.
Wag the Dog is a tale of how a president of the US who is running for re-election and has a young girl accuse him of molesting her two weeks before the election. Hollywood is brought in to fake a diversion war and succeeds. The movie, while possibly fiction, illustrates how America, specifically Hollywood has the technologies, contacts, power and abilities to create a totally believable reality and utilize it all to confound the American Sheeple.
Battalion is a non-fictional tale about a women’s infantry battalion mustered by the Russians in the First World War. The locations, costumes and settings are perfectly recreated and on the surface the movie is interesting and has eye appeal. However, just as in just about every foreign film I at least have ever scene, the acting and effects are really bad. No way you might wake up and think you were actually seeing the scenes in front of you for real.
After seeing this second flick, it occurred to me, seeing that acting is really just pretending to be someone else, or basically living a lie for profit, America blows the doors off the rest of the world, period. If American actors are that much better that foreign actors, why wouldn’t those other denizens of the TV world, the politicians be far better actors as well? It is not so much a case of which one do you believe as which ones make the better liars? Catch my drift?

If they don’t understand inflation what else don’t they understand? What have they been doing besides collecting paychecks? Why are they there?

Considering that the Government has been trying to achieve a steady 2-3% rate of inflation (and without success) these past ten years, perhaps the mechanism is not as…intuitive as we might imagine.

I’m just saying that people chucking acid on other people is not new (and no, Victorian acid attacks were not something I knew anything about either, but I’m open to new knowledge. It wasn’t all Jack the Ripper in Jolly old Victorian England, apparently).

I’m not sure what you mean. I was agreeing with you that being open minded doesn’t inevitably mean moving to the ‘progressive left’. I merely added that it doesn’t necessarily even mean changing your mind at all (although it probably would on some things). Being open to ideas is just being open to ideas. You can think about them and conclude your original point of view is still the one you hold.

WalterB, someone said that politics is show-biz for ugly people. Politics is acting and acting is pretending.
Republicans like Paul Ryan pretended to be patriotic Americans. They were good actors, I would say better than their Democrat opposites. They were all about fiscal probity and liberty and prosperity and God and piety and guns. And for a long time they had a lot of people fooled. Ryan especially was world-class.
Ryan could with an unblinking gaze talk about entitlement “reform”. He was rock steady, every word sounded like it came from the depths of his soul. But not all Republicans were like Ryan, for example, Eric Cantor and John Boner couldn’t keep a straight face.
But you’re right, play-acting does work, you can convince people for a while especially if there’s a willing suspension of disbelief.
But the decades pass and reality asserts itself. The Republican Party was nothing but shills for the Davos Class. And the policies they espoused led to the demolition of wide areas of the US and its economy which ruined the lives of tens of millions of Americans. And in so doing it elicited a survival response from those people the Republicans hurt.
And this survival response was not just one thing. You can point to the formation of militia groups all over the landscape as one manifestation, the election of Trump, who promised he’d have the backs of the American working class, as another. And even the insurgency of Bernie’s candidacy.
But these survival responses in turn elicited reactions from the Deep State. Does anyone really think that wide-spread government surveillance has got anything to do with tracking Muslim terrorists? It does not and the occasional terror attack by a Muslim works marvelously well as justification for the surveillance.
The Deep State is keeping an eye on you and me. They even have trolls on sites like this to obstruct and divert and move unwelcome comments up the discussion thread where they’re out of sight.
Notwithstanding all this, good liars can create fake realities and temporarily divert people from the exigencies of the day. Not that the problems they try to obscure improve with the passage of time, in fact, it’s the opposite. But that never stopped the liar.
So who makes the better liar? When you look at the two competing political factions of the ruling class, who do you think on balance are better, Democrats or Republicans?
Or the real division, the elitists of the Deep State or the rest of us? I know where the power is and why the populists appear powerless.

Me, I have been fortunate enough to have developed a sixth sense for being lied to that was installed in me way back in the Honor Code days. In my business life it was as very valuable asset when I sat across the negotiating table from the CEO of Jordache, DuPont, and many other far more astute businessmen that me. I developed an ability to read upside down almost as quickly as I can right side up. Unfortunately for too many Americans, they not only cannot see through ANY lie and many of them even prefer a bright and shining lie over the reality of truth.

Robert Fisk (can’t find link) was actually in Douma. He asks the locals. Gas? Shake their heads. A doctor, no friend of the occupying (now gone) Islamists, says the video footage was real but it wasn’t gas. It was following intense conventional air raids with people sheltering in tunnels (there is a system of very deep tunnels in Douma hewn out of the rock) and basements suffering from oxygen starvation and respiratory difficulty following the consequent dust storm. One reports that a White Helmet shouted ‘gas’ and people started throwing water over each other. It is fair to say (I think) that Fisk is a harsh critic of the West’s actions and policies in the region.
Remember, the media reported the gas attack as fact, notably The Guardian and probably the American press too. The media are worse than useless. Farage told them so in a hilarious speech some time ago and his audience sat in stony silence, but they never learn anything, being gullible, dishonest and ideological (and the wrong ideology at that)! Perhaps I can phrase it like this: the vices of the media are deceit, stupidity and bias, and the greatest of these is deceit.

I listen to a twice weekly podcast called No Agenda. The co-hosts, John C Dvorak and Adam Curry, ‘deconstruct’ current news stories, digging into them to find out what the controlled mainstream media, the advertisers they’re beholden to, the guardians of political correctness, etc., would rather we not know–all wrapped up in a format with lots of humor (or humour for our friends across the pond.) The show accepts no advertising and is supported only by listener donations, which they have been able to do successfully for more than a decade, through well over 1,000 episodes. They have a worldwide listening audience, which also serves as the host’s “worldwide intelligence network”, often more than willing to provide a tip on a current happening that might undermine the masters those listeners serve as wage slaves, both corporately and in the government (and even the military.) For example, one of those listeners provided the recording of the telephone conversation which now infamously was heard to contain Victoria Nuland’s “fuck the EU” declaration. Although I’m sure there will be those here who will scoff and claim that the podcast and/or the tips they receive are themselves subject to co-opting by the deep state, having been a listener since the early days of their broadcast effort, even as they struggled to define what it was they even hoped to do with a show with “no agenda,” I can report that I have never detected the slightest hint of such outside influence. From every indication, their hearts are pure and their struggle to remain viable financially is ongoing.
Anyway, a couple years ago while he was still in office, Obama visited the area of San Francisco where one of the co-host’s (Dvorak) son works. His son reported that in advance of the president’s visit, the batteries of all the cellphones and other electronic devices in the area were suddenly and rapidly depleted. Now Dvorak himself, who is well known in the tech community, having written tech books and columns for computer magazines since PCs were invented, as well as his ‘millennial’ son, who works in the industry, are not naive or uninformed on technology matters, and so could report with some veracity that this was actually happening. The implication was that phones and devices were being deliberately disabled to prevent person-to-person communications, either directly or via social media, that potentially could pose a threat to the president, as well as perhaps for use as remote triggers for explosive devices. All of it had a very Orwellian feel and one has to wonder how extensively such invasive technology could be used in a time of national crisis, either genuine or fabricated.

As a follow up, the current to-do about Russian meddling and collusion is a distraction from who really buys and sells the political class. It ain’t the Russians. You might also look at Chinese controlled money seeing as they’ve been spending tens of billions on buying up US companies.

They also own a large percentage of all those treasury notes that have been sold in the last ten years or so to finance our 12 trillion dollar additional debt. It actually helps us, if we go belly up so do they.
The Chinese bought a couple trillion of US government bonds. But they also got the backbone of American industry on their soil, under Chinese control. American oligarchs think that money is power. When they get to China they find out that American corporate assets are under the boot of the Chinese regime. Money is not power.
In short, the Chinese may end up writing off the two trillion. But I think they got the better end of the deal with all those US factories and US technology and managerial know-how.
The flip-side of all those US factories on Chinese soil is all the ruined American communities that used to have those factories as their economic mainstay.

I’m listening to No Agenda #1026 right now. In the “C Block” of the show, which is about half way through the program (@ 1hr,33min.), they’re doing a story in which Ed Schultz is detailing how he was with Bernie Sanders on the day he was to make his announcement to run for president. Earlier in the day, Schultz had pre-taped a 15-minute interview with Sanders at his home, in his backyard. The plan was for that piece to be coupled with a live, on air interview with MSNBC at 7PM, in which Sanders would announce his candidacy. Sanders was already being given short shrift by the cable networks, in that Schultz was the only anchor present for Sanders big moment. (The other majors had cameras to passively record, but had no one present to interview, ask questions and provide commentary.)
According to Schultz, he was called by MSNBC 5 minutes before he was scheduled to go on the air with Bernie, with 3,000 ardent supporters present to hear his announcement and cheer him on, AND TOLD IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS HE WAS NOT TO COVER THE ANNOUNCEMENT! Schultz vehemently protested, describing the exclusive interview he had already recorded and the excitement of the large crowd that had showed up for the announcement. Schultz went on to describe in considerable detail just how determined MSNBC, as well as the other networks, were to undermine Bernie’s presidential bid. He stated they were “completely in the tank for Hillary Clinton” and bent on doing what was necessary to “deep six Bernie,” and he went on to describe the outright “collusion” (yes, he used that word) between the networks and the Clinton campaign to promote her candidacy. I broke my hardcore addiction to ALL cable and network news years ago when I terminated my satellite TV subscription for just such reasons. I now get all the fair and balanced news I need from No Agenda. i do like Tucker Carlson and RT from the little I’m able to see of both online at places like YouTube, which is now itself beginning to demonstrate issues with fairness and balance, as the grip of our handlers tighten.

It is necessary to distinguish the manipulation of history from the concept of history, as the future, turned into the past. The history really has to be reviewed sometimes, so to speak, based on newly discovered circumstances.

Sorry but you are confusing issues again. The Commonwealth leaders may get to choose the Head of the Commonwealth but nobody gets to change who succeeds to the throne of the UK. So only the subjects who haven’t done their homework are thinking it may pass directly to William.
Even if the Queen wanted to change her successor, she doesn’t have the power to do so. It’s against the law, specifically the 1701 Act of Settlement, which requires that a monarch’s heir must be a direct successor. Her direct successor is Charles. Since Parliament instituted that act (and the Queen has no power over political laws) only Parliament could change it. For William to succeed the Queen, Charles would have to die before her.

From where I’m standing, for those English-speaking inhabitants of the world, the Commonwealth is merely the result of now-defunct empire. Arthurian legends are just Arthurian legends. They may get tourist pounds in places like TIntagel but I don’t know anyone who links them with the Commonwealth.
Of course I realise some Americans are different and may confuse fantasy and reality. I recall when the film ‘The Madness of King George’ came out, rumour had it that it would have been called ‘The Madness of George III’, following the title of Alan Bennett’s play, from which it was adapted, except it was felt that some Americans would have been looking for the two prequels.

The most critical life and death decisions, like Brexit, are being made by Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, with or without Parliament approval – in the latter case through the Referendum when the England’s working class will almost certainly side with Her Majesty’s decision and against the Black British bourgeoisie represented by the City of London.
As for King Arthur, I think you severely underestimate the significance of his legend in the emotional makeup of the English speaking people.

The result of the referendum was less than 52%, against slightly more than 48% (and that was with the help of Cambridge Analytica).
Are you suggesting that if the result had been 52:48 in the other direction that the Queen and her Privy Council would have overridden the much-vaunted Will of the British People?
If you think the referendum decision came about with the collusion of the Queen, we’ll have to hope she’s generous towards those subjects, mostly in Brexit-voting areas, who are going to lose most from the decision. Every possible Brexit outcome now studied is estimated to be going to cost the British people a fortune – much more than the £350m/week the poor Brexiters were promised would be saved by leaving the EU.
