For all his blunders and stumbles in his first half-year as President (cough cough), Donald Trump seems to have more lives than Schrödinger’s Cat. Or maybe it just seems that way. Or maybe he isn’t really there at all (like the news these days). Maybe Trump only represents one comic probability in an infinite number of universes of probability, both comic and tragic. I begin to understand why the folks in Hollywood are having a whack attack over the chief executive: you can’t storyboard this bitch; it’s like leaving The Three Stooges on their own in a sound stage to re-make Gone With the Wind.

But then, you begin to wonder: is Russia really there, or is it, too, just another figment of possibility? Don’t try to figure that out by reading the oracular observations of The Washington Post. These days Russia seems to be at once everywhere and nowhere, like the Devil north of Boston in 1693. For example, this fellow Jeff Sessions. Have you noticed that his name rhymes with Russians? Hmmmm. And wasn’t he caught chatting with the Russian Ambassador at the very same convocation of Republicans that picked notorious colluder Donald Trump to stand for President? That’s enough of your damn evidence right there!

Yes, things are passing strange in the world’s greatest democracy these days. To me, seeing the thing through an historical lens, it’s looking more and more like the Salem Witch Frenzy meets the French Revolution with a spin of quantum confusion on top. Right now we’re in the first phase, sheer political lunacy. Beliefs have become ungrounded from the facts of life. The guy whom fate or a prankish deity put in the White House doesn’t even fit the template of the world’s most infamous heads-of-state. I’m sorry to dredge up old Adolf, but really, Hitler himself seemed to have a much firmer idea about what he was doing than Trump does.

The ObamaCare reform fiasco looks like a tipping point toward a strain of toxic political paralysis that might literally kill the government as we’ve known it. Over the many months of debate, congress never even got around to raising the salient issue: that the 18-or-so-percent of the economy “health care” represents consists largely of outright racketeering. Well, they sure blew that one. The major parties are disintegrating before our eyes, despite the seeming sense of decorum that senators present on TV. The public may seem to be mentally on vacation, snoozing on the beach in the midsummer doldrums, but something vicious is in the wind offshore.

I’d actually go further now than the “soft coup d’état” scenario that has Trump run over by the 25th amendment. It will happen, of course, but it will not satisfy anybody. Mike Pence will prove to be as ineffectual and unpopular as Trump, and he will be drowning in financial and fiscal problems, and he will get no help from the legislature in resolving any of it, and before too long there may be a general in the White House — or attempting to run things from someplace else, if he can. The whole nauseating spectacle will be attended by violent popular revolt of region against region and tribe against tribe in a great civil explosion of long-suppressed angst.

Too many nasty forces are vectoring in on the scene to overthrow the dream state America has been languishing in. Most of them involve money (or “money”) and the questions of how can we possibly keep paying for the way we live in this country, and who exactly has been fobbing off with the former wealth of every rusted and busted community in the land? It’s going to start in the stock and bond markets and it will be soon. And then the US Treasury will destroy the dollar trying (again) to save the banks. And the bank accounts will be frozen. And the loans will stop being paid. And the SNAP cards are going to stop working, and pretty soon the just-in-time deliveries to the supermarkets, and the resupply to the gas stations, and there won’t be much that Mike Pence can do about it. He’ll be shoved aside and the military will have to try to restore order in the land. When they do, it will not be the same land we sang about back in the fifth grade. Up in a cloud somewhere over Ohio, maybe, Schrödinger’s Cat will be gazing down on us, grinning.

And the cat came back the very next day. And the cat came back and he wouldn’t stay away. Meow so pretty. Meow said the kitty, And the cat came back and wouldn’t stay away.

Rather more of a fart than a meow.

  3. messianicdruid July 21, 2017 at 9:30 am #

An inconsiderate man had a cat, that he often forgot about. In his wanderings he found a stray dog and brought it home. The cat was dejected and complained to the dog, “now I will starve for sure because you will eat the little meant for me”. The dog said, “do not worry, I can bark and will remind him of that we are both hungry”.

    • Yuri Sowryteski July 21, 2017 at 11:59 am #

That feller also had a goose that laid golden turds. The dog started barking, “kill the goose, we’re starving”, so he did, and there were no more golden turds. Then there was no more petroleum, then there was no more electricity, and no more food or water, no drugs, no internet, just hurri-tsu-nadoes, and draught here and there. The man became a slave laborer for the military junta, and he had no more illusions about who was in charge, and even though he was Caucasian, it didn’t matter. Since his basic character was like sheep, he was much happier than when he was free. But then they needed stronger slaves, so they killed him and fed him to the other slaves. Cooked of course.

The cat was adopted by a General, but died of cancer, as did the general and most of the military. After they ran out of heavy metal for bullets, they had their battles every year, at least one, with clubs and spears and arrows. All the children were born with mutations and low sperm count, so there were fewer and fewer, till there weren’t any more.

Thanks deep state establishment psychopaths! and the sleep-concensus deluded wage class voters! Thanks for trampling out the vintage of the grapes of wrath.

The dog went back to being a coyote and survived where ever the ground water hadn’t been contaminated by fracking or cities. He had had enough of his “best friend”, man, and didn’t miss him; it was his own clan he was loyal to now. Occasionally he ran across a piece of plastic, or a tire, and say, “What was I thinking, being loyal to man?” Buzzard never let him forget about man domesticating him either. “He had you thinking you were a dog!” You were such a chump, waiting for him to give you little crumbs for rewards – had you trained to salivate at the sound of a command ….. or a Tee Vee show. You weren’t even a dog, you had your nose up any old butt like a ruminate, haha! And all around you species were going extinct! You were immune to clues of the most obvious kind! I guess that’s what happens when you loose track of you true nature, Huunnnaaa?”

        Yuri,
Your parable is also the upshot of The Worldwide War on Empathy that’s being waged amongst the humanoids with a shocking and exponentially increasing degree of gleeful savagery even as we speak [type]. Seems like we’ll reap just what we’ve sown. Just desserts?

  4. shotho July 21, 2017 at 9:33 am #

I wish Mr. K had not written this piece; too disjointed with too many issues thrown together in confusion. And far too many predictions of future happenings.
What is this business of Amendment 25? Nothing like that seems likely to happen. The political consequences for that are too dire; not even Schumer would want to try something like that. Mr. K’s expectatiion of regional breakdown would then be likely and it isn’t that serious yet.
But, the financial vultures are circling and I agree that it shouldn’t be long now.

Russia is NOT the Soviet Union; matter of fact, they are more white and Christian than we are, so WTF is the problem?

Your tongue-firmly-in-cheek response aside. You hit in a very salient point: what is the problem with Russia.

This seldom gets discussed despite the rather simple reason.

In fact, the simple true reason is avoided, and obfuscated with talk of Putin being a despot, a corrupt authoritarian, an obstacle to democracy.

The simple reason is that Russia under Putin represents the last obstacle to US-Anglo/Western global hegemony. In matters of politics, globalism, and finance, Russia appears as the impediment to dominion.

They won’t drink the Kool-Aid, or play for the team. It’s an age old war playing out in the moment.

        • 100th Avatar July 21, 2017 at 11:04 am #

That article was so detailed and so long that it’s so amazing how far it is from reality.

          • K-Dog July 22, 2017 at 11:41 am #

This part of it is garbage.

“And Putin is a globalist, not a nationalist.”

Putin is Russia, that is what he thinks about all day long. He does not think about grabbing pussy but disciplines himself with sport. He is planning Russia’s prosperity fifty years ahead and not collecting golden rooms.

      • K-Dog July 21, 2017 at 11:59 am #

The problem being that Russia is a sovereign nation with its own culture and sense of right an wrong. That is how Putin described it talking to Oliver Stone.

However I think we may overcomplicate things by using these generalities because the neo-liberal haters demonizing Russia must have something specific in mind. A specific way in which they can make a huge pile of money in a destabilized Russia. I write this because their hate is extreme and their determination to ignite a new cold war intense.

Such salivation and drooling usually means a dog is looking at a specific piece of meat. Not thinking about an abstract steak in the nebulous future but looking at a juicy one right now.

If we can figure out what they actually want the demonization of Russia could come to a quick end and if that were to happen we could start going after Trump for legitimate reasons. As long as the reasons for going after Trump have to do with Russia he thrives because there is no substance to back any of these allegations up.

Russia is a distraction to keep your eye off the ball and it is working superbly.

        No, but Im just sayin….

There are some people I can’t even TALK to because we lack a common culture to serve as a bridge for dialogue.

Im usually pretty good at finding the common social currency that allows me to have a relationship with another person instead of an “arrangement.”

But every once in a while I still hafta drop the hammer on some fool who refuses to do the same.

I had to face down some stupid cunts German Shepard the other day and explain to her that in this country, we train our fucking dogs NOT to threaten people in public spaces.

Some Slavic bitch/foriegn devil and her man…

I said “this is the 2nd time your puck ass young Shepard bounded off the front porch and ran up on me like he was gonna attack me; THERE WILL NOT BE A 3RD TIME!

I felt bad for the dog because he’s young and nobody is training him. If he pulls that shit on the street, somebody is gonna dump on his ass.

        pop pop, pop pop

        • Janos Skorenzy July 21, 2017 at 1:32 pm #

Are you one of those people who try to talk to everyone and thereby make yourself a public nuisance? Are you just Beginning to grasp that you (generic) have no connection or business with most people – even among your own Black Culture? What to speak of African Blacks? Or Whites, Chinese, Hispanics, etc?

    • JimInFlorida July 21, 2017 at 12:17 pm #

DAMN! Of all people, thwack beats me to the key point.

I have YET to hear WHY any exchange or collusion with Putin’s Russia is a bad thing! What has actually happened from those exchanges? Was any harm done?….NO! Our election (selection) processes have been corrupt for DECADES and only the camouflage came off with Bush, Rove, and the Diebold machines. It would be a positive benefit if Putin’s crew interfered!

thwack is right. Russia is more White and Christian than we are. Furthermore, the Russians are struggling to recover what was lost and we are at war with those very same treasures.

    • shotho July 21, 2017 at 4:50 pm #

Exactly, Russia might be a slim hope that the world is not in lock step with universal utopianism. I never thought that I would be thinking of Russia as some sort of social and political savior, but there it is. When you consider its history, the seeds of a great and enduring culture are right there; Tchaikovsky, Pushkin, Shostakovich, Tolstoy, Gogol, Mayakovsky, Dostoevsky, etc.

  6. Cavepainter July 21, 2017 at 9:44 am #

Its over for America, the country either we knew or imagined we knew. Anyway, things have changed, beginning when is debatable as is the point at which there was no recovery possible. Nationhood really is a consensus state of mind, “divided we fall”. Thanks a lot to the cultural relativism crowd. As one old enough to have experienced the solidarity of WWII I can assert in full confidence that today there is no such sense of nationhood that could carry us through such an ordeal — and such ordeal is upon us.

The military, forget it. The bases, as soon as social order unravels, will be secured in short order; those inside knowing that their prospect for survival is contingent upon holding off the desperate masses who’ll try to access the great supply caches there routinely stocked for military campaigns.

    • daveed July 21, 2017 at 10:12 am #

“Its over for America, the country either we knew or imagined we knew.”

I’ve been hearing this for years, some folks believing that the hallmark of the beginning of the end was the JFK assassination. The obituary for the USA always seems to be a little premature. But, the bit of news I heard yesterday gives me pause. That two bills have been introduced in Congress, one in each house, that would make it a federal crime to boycott Israel (over the Palestinian situation). Unbelievable. If this legislation gets traction, maybe it is over, after all.

    • messianicdruid July 21, 2017 at 10:47 am #

You are still conflating nationhood with country. Countries are [ too often ] amalgamations of nations and the NWO is conceived as an amalgamation of countries. Won’t work without destroying all concepts based on individual thought. Removing thoughts [ words ] that support personal identity and personal action are tools. Define or be defined.

Fight, flight or freeze. Most are stuck in freeze, contemplating fight or flight, while the preditor draws near.

      • Cavepainter July 21, 2017 at 11:03 am #

Uh, what? Please, don’t take up this space with your unfounded babble; exercise a little scholarship on the origin of language along with how humans conceptualize reality by formulating sensory input into concepts expressed in language (words and syntax order), meaning of which is malleable under influence of discourse — the purpose of this site. Nationhood, in the modern sense, is a shared body of beliefs and values coded into legal frame work of governance.

        • Janos Skorenzy July 21, 2017 at 1:39 pm #

He’s right schmarty pants. Check the etymology of the word nations. Then check the etymology of the word country: completely different. Tell us what you fine. Obviously no one can govern a nation once it has become a polgot diverse little empire.

Mr Noor wasn’t a jihadi, just a man unfit for the job, an affirmative action hire. Yet the Mayor celebrate his hiring, so excited to be associated with DIVERSITY – the ruling ethos of our country. The problem is that it is simply shit – as our all who gush about it. Homogeneity is strength (and your laws are meaningless without it) and all who work to undermine Homogeneity are enemies.

            ******************************

            That might be true, and it may be the reason Noor was partnered with another rookie;

None of the Vets wanted to work with him because they new he was a fuck up, and didn’t want to be responsible for him.

Finally, as the department pet monkey/mascot the other officers were afraid to tell the truth about him racism/diversity…

          • Cavepainter July 21, 2017 at 5:28 pm #

Well Janos, there’s the kind of diversity one finds in warming tray counters at a smorgasbord restaurant or ethnic food carts, then there are critical social divides. In the former case no problem as long as the cultural currency (inference obvious) is cohesively aligned — now sacrificed to the ‘diversity’ meme.

          • elysianfield July 21, 2017 at 6:23 pm #

            Thwack,
Newbies are never partnered with unseasoned officers, or those still on probation if any other options are available.

Vets? They are assigned a partner and can petition for change to their Sgt, Lt, and Captain, but usually with little effect. They do what they are told.

“Nationhood, in the modern sense, is a shared body of beliefs and values coded into legal frame work of governance.”

Go tell the Osage, the Cherokees, the Muscogee, and all the other Nations within the United States that you are one of them and want to have an influence on their governance and see what happens.

The meanings of words are changed [ or their use simply eliminated ] to change people’s thoughts. It works.

At least you qualified your POV by admitting it is “modern”.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 22, 2017 at 1:44 pm #

            Etymology of “nation:

            c. 1300, from Old French nacion “birth, rank; descendants, relatives; country, homeland” (12c.) and directly from Latin nationem (nominative natio) “birth, origin; breed, stock, kind, species; race of people, tribe,” literally “that which has been born,” from natus, past participle of nasci “be born” (Old Latin gnasci), from PIE root *gene- “give birth, beget,” with derivatives referring to procreation and familial and tribal groups.

Political sense has gradually predominated, but earliest English examples inclined toward the racial meaning “large group of people with common ancestry.” Older sense preserved in application to North American Indian peoples (1640s). Nation-building first attested 1907 (implied in nation-builder).

          • Janos Skorenzy July 22, 2017 at 1:59 pm #

            Etymology of “country”:

mid-13c., “district, native land,” from Old French contree, from Vulgar Latin *(terra) contrata “(land) lying opposite,” or “(land) spread before one,” from Latin contra “opposite, against” (see contra-). Sense narrowed 1520s to rural areas, as opposed to cities. Replaced Old English land. As an adjective from late 14c. First record of country-and-western music style is from 1942. Country club first recorded 1886. Country mile “a long way” is from 1915, American English.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 22, 2017 at 2:04 pm #

Cave, are you beginning to grok the magnitude of your mistake? Country just means region or zone, later narrowed to mean rural area. To make synonymous with nation is a gigantic error, but one convenient to the Tryrannical State.

As Confucius said, reform begins with the “rectification of names” or using words properly. We must return to older, and more proper and exact useage. A nation isn’t primarily a place, but a people. If the Icelanders went to live in Haiti, Haiti would be the new Iceland. If the Haitians went to live in Iceland, that would be the new Haiti. The Icelanders would turn Haiti into a paradise in a generation. The Haitians would all be dead within five years.

  8. RobH July 21, 2017 at 9:57 am #

If the costs of health insurance are too great, because healthcare is a racket, then the thing that needs fixing is not people getting medical treatment!

Why not keep Obamacare, but legislate the healthcare providers. You need quality and price. Two sets of regulators.

Government can do that. It is called governing

You simply decide that human beings deserve health care more than a suited consultant in teeth whitening needs a third Mercedes, and legislate the greed out of him. He won’t leave, he can’t earn more elsewhere! If the US has the most expensive healthcare in the world, very few doctors are going to leave if they get capped

You just need someone to take on the entire corporate system, now, where is someone with some backbone

    • swmnguy July 21, 2017 at 10:11 am #

That is indeed the problem, and that’s why there will be no purposeful solution.

Health care in America is fine. Healthcare Finance in America has been in a death-spiral since at least 1970. The Nixon Administration tried to address the problem in 1973 with HMO plans.

Most of the drama and pearl-clutching right now concerns the 5%-8% of us who buy our insurance on the Individual market. I can’t use the ObamaCare exchanges because my wife’s employer does offer family coverage; but if we took it she wouldn’t get a paycheck, the costs are so high.

The private insurance companies want out of the Individual market, because we can’t pay premiums high enough to give them the unlimited returns they seek. They much prefer to gouge their hostages in the Employer group market. Health insurance is the second-highest cost to most employers, after only payroll. It’s an enormous global competitive disadvantage to US business.

Every proposed solution keeps corporate profiteers at the middle of the healthcare finance system. Therefore none of them will work as advertised.

Since Corporate Finance has subsumed every aspect of American life except, possibly, K-12 education, any solutions will have to come from outside official policy channels. I’ve been saying for a long time that the next financial crisis will force a President, probably Republican, to open up Medicare to everyone and relegate private insurance to optional supplemental coverage.

But it will take a crisis, and somebody who can’t be red-baited, to reach that point.

“Every proposed solution keeps corporate profiteers at the middle of the healthcare finance system. Therefore none of them will work as advertised.

Since Corporate Finance has subsumed every aspect of American life except, possibly, K-12 education, any solutions will have to come from outside official policy channels.”

        swmnguy,
Right you are. As evidence of such, all one has to do is look at the nice fat checks the congresscritters gladly accept from the “healthcare/health-denier” lobbies. As to the present repeal-and-replace boondoggle, it’s all a struggle about how much the “corporate profiteers” will be allowed to skim. If the healthcare lobbies don’t get the vigorish they believe they’re due, no bill will be forthcoming for *any* president to pass into law. Folks in the know in the health insurance bid’nez are saying that, come this next “price-fixing” season, premiums are going to go up on an average of 15-20%! Do they understand they are on the point of pricing themselves right out of bid’nez? (Like you say, perhaps it will be the break point that allows them to drop individual policy coverage, “for reasons of solvency, you understand”.)

        • Beryl of Oyl July 21, 2017 at 12:50 pm #

I agree, and I’m glad he said it. Insurance is not medicine. Insurance does not provide “access to health care”, in fact in many instances it is an impediment.
You can’t lower the price of a product or service by adding a middleman, and accommodating all the rent-seekers.
The hospital nearest me grows larger almost by the day, and provides less and worse medical care since the passage of “reform”.
BTW, the 22 million figure we’re seeing bandied about, the people who are supposedly going to be “thrown off” their insurance (as if people haven’t been losing their insurance before now), are actually the number expected to dump their lousy and unaffordable insurance once they aren’t forced to buy it.

    • casamurphy July 21, 2017 at 8:22 pm #

      PREMISE:
Medical service providers are just that, service providers; and in that regard are no different in the market than automobile mechanics whose average income depends on the average income in the workers (their clients) in their society. Every country, though, has figured out some way to pay medical service providers more than car mechanics. That way the poor get some access to the care that only the rich can afford. Calls in the USA for market-based reforms to the health care affordability problem conveniently overlook this basic fact which is not surprising considering the long oligarchic traditions of the USA.

Instead of floundering in our traditional economic cynicism we could undertake simple and effective governmental reforms in order to keep health care spending down to a reasonably low percentage of GDP like every other developed country in the world. No constitutional roadblocks would have to be overcome. Government established systems don’t need to unconstitutionally block medical service providers from contracting with patients in whatever way they wish. Well-structured public systems will just make it unnecessary and uneconomical for them to do so. As the reforms listed below are read, please reserve judgement as to their political viability until you get to the end.

      REFORMS:
      1. Lower Medicare age to 55. This would most efficiently remove the most difficult to insure group from the reform process faced (as suggested at item #3 below) by the individual states.
      2. Simplify the Medicare benefit structure so that there is one simple annual deductible for all parts of Medicare (A,B,and D) based upon an income and asset test; and also re-set the Medicare Part B premium so that it is also income and asset test based.
2.1 This would make the need for Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and Medicare Prescription Drug plans obsolete; saving the government and consumers hundreds of billions year in and year out.
2.2 Some percentage of current insurance workers could be leased by current insurance companies to the government during a transition phase, while those losing their jobs could get direct transition assistance.
      3. For everyone through age 54 each state individually or in concert with other states could adopt some form of the proven models provided by other developed countries. Large states, who have larger populations and economies than many model countries, have the tax base and economies of scale which should make it easier to establish such model systems compared to smaller states. Therefore, if smaller states run into difficulty they should be allowed to join together with other small states, whether regionally proximate or not, to adopt models that work best for them as a group.

      FACTORS:
I believe these reforms could be politically viable because they feed into hot button issues of both the right and left. Right wingers in red states would like the individual state control aspect and burn themselves out on pushing for a return to a cash-based system for the poor and concierge plans for the highly paid employees and wealthy individuals which will ultimately prove economically and politically unsustainable compared to the socialistic systems established in the blue states. Left wingers in blue states will jump at the chance to bring forth successful plans and thus help the blue brand and motivate blue voters nationwide. Big health insurance companies would continue to have an advantage over smaller firms as they find a way to profitably downsize to basic employee leasing enterprises that provide administration services to Medicare and the state model plans. They, like all the companies in the healthcare market, would be faced with the need to either adapt or die. I believe the big companies seeing the writing on the wall would actually support the reform process since they would be in the best position to become profitable survivors of the process. Big Pharma…well big pharma would also take a hit, but so be it…they would most likely have to deal with bulk discounted sales to Medicare and the state plans who in turn would have the discounted drugs fulfilled through the existing pharmacy outlets.

Great post! Never understood why non-FIRE sector corporate America doesn’t lead the way on healthcare reform, as it is indeed one of their largest costs. The standard argument is that health insurance benefits give them massive leverage in the labor markets, but these days they have that regardless. Health insurance costs are the 800 pound gorilla riding the back of every economic transaction we have these days, and any sane country (never mind “progressive” and/or “enlightened”) would have long since dealt with this issue responsibly. It’s almost like they want a civil insurrection, and as Jim alludes to above, they just might get it fairly soon.

    A. U.S. Electrical grid.

    B. Global financial derivatives market.

    C. National computer network capability.

    D. Prevention of global CBRN war.

    E. None of the above.

The scenario I fear at this point is that the War on Cash, recently escalated by Citi and Visa, will make it easy for the government to take control of our money electronically in the form of a “buy-in” for the banks following the next crash, which will be the tipping point for a whole bunch of armed-to-the-teeth Americans to take to the streets. There they will meet a whole bunch of militarized cops who have already been scared shitless of all the guns out there and winked at when they shoot citizens who startle them. And that will be a hell of a mess, with no prospect for resolution in the form of either reestablished economic stability or responsible governance.

      C’mon man….

In Oakland, in the late 60’s, with the Black Panthers hunting OPD officers, there was no visible fear. When the call of a shooting in progress came over the radio…units were wrecked by officers trying to get to the scene before the shooting was over…more than once. We didn’t even have body armor then…didn’t exist. There was no feeling of fear…rather…anticipation.

I am not so certain that the public is on vacation. When frequently engaged in what Larry David would call “medium-talk”, I’m left with the impression that people have been rendered apathetic. Disempowered. They don’t control the narrative, the issues, being championed by the media, the politicians, the business leaders. They’re chattel, they’re mimimalized, and they know this.

Or the last option the DNC continues to squeel like a stuck pig and blame anyone and anything for the horrible choice in Hillary and her loss to a just slightly less unsavory character in Trump. As is said even bad coverage is a win and Trump LOVES being the center of attention!

Trump will continue in office weathering the storm just like he is now.
The fechless DNC will continue to sling mud using the compliant media but no real proof of collusion will ever be found on Trump himself and ignore the obvious collusion between Hillary, Obama and Russia
    .

While all this is going on the DNC base will get more shrill more ridiculous and more disillusioned and all go on SSRI’s (if they are already not drugged up into a stupor! I work with two ladies that have told me they are hanging on by a thread as a result of Trump winning. When I asked them why they were so upset one said about abortions being harder to get (she aint had a man in years) and the other said something about Trump being anti-gay. I actually laughed at both of them and told them Trump is a new York city liberal with some conservative leanings who was pro-gay marriage before it was fashionable and suggested they listen to a real news source.

On the other hand Trump supporters will get more and more tired of Antifa types getting violent and the obvious lies foisted by the mainstream media and will start fighting back harder.
Hell just go look at msn.com “news” and try and comment on one of their hit stories on anything!!!
Their “news” stories were getting so badly torn apart they actually took down the comments sections.
Fake news aside their stories have always been bad and littered with obvious half truths and spin so they finally gave up and took away the comments sections. Huzzah!

This Reality picture is all well and good but two things seem to argue against it: the incredible power of wishful thinking by most when there are no other options and the magical power of insiders to create money when failure commences: the Tinkerbell Innocence and the Aladdin Solution.

    • K-Dog July 21, 2017 at 10:54 am #

They don’t create money as much as erase rich man debt and transfer that debt to the working man. The few who still have a job and can work that is.

Tinkerbell Innocence and the Aladdin Solution and that fifth grade song.

Total wealth does not change but it takes more money to describe it and the percentage who have it gets ever smaller.

      It is the American way.

  15. K-Dog July 21, 2017 at 10:47 am #

‘When they do, it will not be the same land we sang about back in the fifth grade.’

It never was that land to begin with. ‘My land is your land’ is bullshit. From the redwood forests to the gulf stream waters is a lie. The forests belong to Weyerhaeuser Lumber and the oil platforms in the Gulf belong to BP.

The law of the land has been to rape and steal what you can regardless of what you do to other people since the first misfit stepped off a boat onto this new land because he could not get along with his king and probably anybody else.

Pre trannyville lesbians made you sing that shit and you began then to dream falsely now. Don’t dream falsely now. It does you no good.

A pyrocastic progression of primates rolls over that fifth grade fairy tale and everything they touch turns to shit soon to be flung at you.

    Same as it ever was.

      K-Dog–
No, not everything is a lie. We were a better people a few decades ago, and a better culture. — JHK

      • K-Dog July 21, 2017 at 11:12 am #

        Better people really?

I remember Grandparents who lived in small Minnesota towns who were obsessed with making sure everybody had enough to eat and were doing all right. New people in town were welcomed with invitations to dinner and home made pies. In those days if someone needed help all they had to do was knock on a door. These days pies don’t get made at home.

Do better people not concern themselves with others and spend all their time looking at brilliant colored pixels behind gorilla glass in a state of perpetual distraction and self obsession. I think not.

As an individual we get better. I know I have and you probably have too. But a new crop of clueless is born every year and they don’t have the citizenship examples we had in fifth grade. They have the example of Columbine to emulate instead. So yes I have been snarky; the pre-tranny lesbian lies were actually better than the perverted truths we have now.

Back in the day, flesh and blood relatives would take care of children when parents went to work. Now the substitute parent is made in China and has a very flat screen. That is not a better culture. You don’t write about a better culture every week. You write about needing a better culture because the one we have is about to pop like a balloon.

        • K-Dog July 21, 2017 at 11:18 am #

Go to a String Cheese Incident show and tell me the young people in this country don’t have a clue, those kids are great, keeping something good alive. Well, one good thing about these days is that it is no longer (at least outside the South) socially acceptable to harass, actively discriminate against, or physically assault homosexuals. But yeah, so many other things have changed for the negative that I fully understand how that may seem to be very meager compensation to anybody who isn’t a homosexual (and quite a few who are probably feel the same way).

Give it a bit more time and even that standard will erode.

If I were going to get married to another dude, I wouldn’t want all that bad karma in my wedding cake from forcing someone to make it for me who didn’t want to. And if nobody wanted to make it for me, there’s always the cake-mix aisle at the grocery store and 9×11 baking pans. And I know exactly how I would decorate the cake! 😀

Glad to hear it. You see it as a normal person does. In many societies, marriages are the biggest social ritual and the families strive to make it a blessing for all – feeding many homeless for example. Rejoicing at the ruination of people with your own wedding is an utter abomination.

One of those fifth grade songs was:

“This Land Is Your Land” and was written by American folk singer Woody Guthrie in 1940.

Woody lived for a while in Beach Haven which was owned by Trumps father. While there he wrote another song which is not exactly fifth grade fare.

    Old Man Trump

I suppose that Old Man Trump knows just how much racial hate
He stirred up in that bloodpot of human hearts
When he drawed that color line
Here at his Beach Haven family project

    Beach Haven ain’t my home!
No, I just can’t pay this rent!
    My money’s down the drain,
And my soul is badly bent!
    Beach Haven is Trump’s Tower
Where no black folks come to roam,
    No, no, Old Man Trump!
Old Beach Haven ain’t my home!

I’m calling out my welcome to you and your man both
Welcoming you here to Beach Haven
To love in any way you please and to have some kind of a decent place
To have your kids raised up in.

    Beach Haven ain’t my home!
No, I just can’t pay this rent!
    My money’s down the drain,
And my soul is badly bent!
    Beach Haven is Trump’s Tower
Where no black folks come to roam,
    No, no, Old Man Trump!
Old Beach Haven ain’t my home!

To be fair it should be noted that Woody had a significant case of jungle fever which may have focused his perspective; but that does not make his words any less true.

  19. Dumbedup July 21, 2017 at 11:34 am #

Mr. Kunstler, you claim to be looking at this through an historical lens but you given no credence to the notion prevalent among many reputable people that what we are living through now is no more chaotic nor any more likely to result in a total collapse than say … 1799, 1832, 1845-1865, 1878 … well, you get the idea.

As to Trump and Russia – where there is smoke there is fire:

    * Trump has contemplated firing Mueller and now his legal team is seeking to undermine his investigation.

    * Trump claims he went over to speak to Putin because the Japanese Premier’s wife did not speak English (yet she is actually fluent in English).

Six months into his term of office he has tweeted 900 times, taken long vacations to play golf (some 40 days) but has signed no major legislation related to tax reform, healthcare or the “wall”. Trump continues to lie profusely and no one is holding him accountable and if they attempt to do so it is called “fake news.” How convenient.

    • K-Dog July 21, 2017 at 12:12 pm #

I sort of agree that the overall human condition does not change as much as we would like to think it does sometimes but to say that what we are living through now is no more chaotic than previous times is wrong.

Previous times experience bad things like pestilence starvation war and disease but hope for better times was real and legitimate because the earth had room to grow and resources were not depleted.

Now we are overpopulated and relative to other times completely dis-empowered. Technology has destroyed the possibility of revolution and change because it has solidly entrenched the existing order.

“Turn on, tune in, drop out” was once a possibility but now dropping out only means you are a bum. There is no place to drop into once you drop out and only the matrix remains.

Talk about comedic elements. According to several published articles, the Trump legal team is now exploring the President’s power to grant pardons to aids, family members and even himself.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Trump, or his family and aids, having communications with Russian government representatives or private citizens before or after the election so long as there was no other crime like extortion, bribery or disclosure of secrets. Even the latter is debatable once Trump took office.

There are a multitude of things wrong with lying, interfering with a lawful investigation and the obstruction of justice.

My conclusion is that as long as Trump goes along with the Republican House and Senate they will look the other way and even make excuses for these transgressions until someone finds a smoking gun or Trump rides naked on a bicycle down Pennsylvania Avenue.

  20. Liz July 21, 2017 at 11:45 am #

I honestly think you’re missing the central comic element here. The President doesn’t control the government, the financial sector and the Fed do that. For that regime to continue requires secrecy. or at least discretion. Their current puppet has cut the strings. He’s still trying to do their business, of course, but he’s doing it in such a ham-handed, and blazingly obvious way that the public has woken from a deep slumber. It’s as if someone hired le Petomaine to fart Hamlet. What was proper theater is now vaudeville.

I don’t know that the secrecy is needed anymore because nobody cares. Everybody is too distracted and people have not woken up.

A lot of people such as myself who used to consider themselves Democrats have since been “voting with their feet” as far as participation in the mainstream political process is concerned. The Republicans owe their current political dominance to popular disdain for Obamacare as much as they do to the adept machinations of the Koch brothers. Now that they have utterly, miserably failed to repeal Obamacare, I can imagine many people who have been voting Republican since at least 2010 doing the same thing as I am. It’s tempting to start a betting pool on just how low voter turnout will be in November 2018!

    • Yuri Sowryteski July 21, 2017 at 12:44 pm #

Perchance you were thinking 2020? “Midterms” are allways low; 2018 may be slightly higher for such; put me down for 37%.

For 2020, put me down for 27% even though 68% will be the establishment story, to give their pet selection “a real mandate” to do “whatever it takes to restore order” during martial law which is when we all turn in our guns.

      • venuspluto67 July 21, 2017 at 1:01 pm #

I did mean the midterms, and I know those are always low (40% is considered on the high side), but I’m thinking now they will be super low.

Don’t worry how they will pay for whatever they want to buy, they won the Monopoly game, they will win the Monopoly game, call it Capitalism to get their puppets to play along, the best kind being “pure” un-alloyed Capitalism – for the ideologically inclined – the true believers for whom “free thinking” means driving on the correct side of the road. Very practical thing to DO that. Drive safely, by all means. Free thinking is not only something else, it’s a different *category*. In fact, freedom is – get this – *Dangerous*. Both political parties aren’t in the process of disintegrating. They disintegrated a long time ago. It’s just that now it’s at the end of the process, so it can’t be denied anymore. It’s like trying to deny someone had a terminal illness when you see the corpse.

Speaking of illness, we now know why a certain Senator was behaving as he was, spending our tax dollars to send someone overseas to pick up a ridiculous pee pee ‘dossier’, to use it against his own party’s candidate. Fortunately for him, he doesn’t have to worry about his own health care, what they arranged for themselves in Congress is far superior to what they foisted off on the rest of us.

As far as apathy by the electorate goes, I’m not apathetic, I’m not unaware, that’s why I supported Donald Trump for president. He saw what was going on long before people who think they are smarter than he is did.
Oh, so the Russian stuff is fake, but we are going to go after him for “legitimate reasons” once we know what those are?
If we don’t know what the legitimate reasons are, and we know (most of us) that the Russia crap is nonsense, then why would we assume there are legitimate reasons out there? Is that logical? Wouldn’t the fact that his opponents had to create a fake pee pee dossier to push the collusion narrative tend to prove that there are no “legitimate” reasons, or they’d be using them right now?

I see we’re looking into why a UN ambassador needed to know the identities of Americans not the subject of investigations, who were picked up by spying.
Not something that would seem to coincide with her official duties.
Funny how the forces acting against the man now in the White House all seem to have something to hide, themselves. Unfit for public office, to a woman.

PC dorks can’t review movies either: Where are the Blacks and Women in the new Dunkirk movie?

John Nolte of the Daily Wire applies the necessary beat down:

Did Truitt do any homework about the background of this movie? He does appear to know that Nolan’s latest is based on a true story, which I guess is a start, but he probably learned that from the trailer. The real question, though, is just how clueless about history, about the biggest world event of the 20th century are you when you find it “jarring” that Wesley Snipes doesn’t show up to save the day or that Sandra Bullock is not driving a tank that will explode if it goes under 50 miles per hour?

Complaining about the lack of women and minority actors in a movie about Dunkirk is like complaining about the lack of Sinatra music in Straight Outta Compton or wondering why cancer failed to get equal time in Philadelphia or hectoring Hollywood over the omission of realistic sex scenes in the Toy Story trilogy.

And we cannot only blame Truitt, who is probably a victim of public schools. How did his trigger warning, one so feeble-minded it ranks as a non sequitur, make it past the USA Today editors? Are they all half-wits or does someone personally dislike Truitt so much they have stopped protecting him from himself?

Sorry if the following is inconvenient to your McCarthyistic desire to bully filmmakers into thinking and believing a certain way, but the settled science tells us the following: Trapped at Dunkirk were young, white males. Saving those young, white males were other white males. Trying to kill those young, white males were other white males.

Journalism is dead, and it was a suicide.

Janos again (yay!): In other movie news, Blacks are outraged at the new alternate history HBO series about the Confederacy winning the Civil War. Why are Whites making this shit and not Blacks, they cry? It’s all well and good that Blacks will be portrayed as beautiful and noble and Whites as subhuman scum, but what about the monee? As Father Divine said, Black is beautiful but green is better. Back me up here, Thwack.

It’s all well and good that Blacks will be portrayed as beautiful and noble and Whites as subhuman scum,

      **********************

Black people are very poorly educated about the U.S Civil War; and we are in large part responsible for our own ignorance of the event because unlike the Jews who won’t let you EVER forget about the Hollowco$t…

black people don’t want to really know about the true nature and circumstances of their introduction to this country; it triggers them and makes them mad, angry and upset…

and to make matters worse, white people hide a lot of the fine detail about slavery and the Civil War and share the information among a small group of academic elites.

      Think about it?

By 6th grade every black child knows EXACTLY how many Jews died in the Hollowco$t

      and

      AND,

Actually, the movie Dunkirk is deficient in the sense that it doesn’t show that there were Indians (from India) in the British army at Dunkirk, who were a critical, some say pivotal, component of British military forces world wide in WWII, and there were North Africans in the French army at Dunkirk, who later went on to form a significant core of the French forces that ultimately landed in the South of France and moved up the Rhone liberating French territory from the Nazis.

But don’t let that confuse your “only white is right” narrative.

Donald Trump asks lawyers about powers to pardon himself and his children in Russia probe, report reveals
President’s team may be seeking to control and block Mueller’s Russia investigation

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/donald-trump-pardon-robert-s-mueller-special-counsel-russia-a7852181.html

“Some of President Trump’s lawyers are exploring ways to limit or undercut special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s Russia investigation, building a case against what they allege are his conflicts of interest and discussing the president’s authority to grant pardons, according to people familiar with the effort.

“Trump has asked his advisers about his power to pardon aides, family members and even himself in connection with the probe, according to one of those people. A second person said Trump’s lawyers have been discussing the president’s pardoning powers among themselves.

“Trump’s legal team declined to comment on the issue. But one adviser said the president has simply expressed a curiosity in understanding the reach of his pardoning authority, as well as the limits of Mueller’s investigation.

“‘This is not in the context of, “I can’t wait to pardon myself,” ‘ a close adviser said.

It’s nice to hear that Donald Trump can wait to pardon himself, but he’s really messing with that whole “presumption of innocence” thing.

  30. FincaInTheMountains July 21, 2017 at 5:27 pm #

    The War of Ideas

I wrote that, six months after Trump’s inauguration, Hillary Clinton entered into an ideological struggle with President Trump and the ideology that he personified, and before that she claimed that Trump was just a psycho and generally a gorilla-pig who when meeting women instead of saying “hello” is grabbing them by the pussy.

It all seemed to be the result of Trump’s victory on the legalist front, where she tried to throw Trump out of the White House with all sorts of legalistic procedures such as sabotage, accusations of his election campaign in cooperation with Russia, statements-suspicions of the heads of all sorts of intelligence, investigations of his connections with Russia, held by the Congress, the Senate and the Special Prosecutor.

Indeed, it was recently revealed that the special prosecutor is conducting his investigation on the basis of leaks and a campaign of disinformation, which was organized by the former director of the FBI Comey precisely for this purpose.

And now, when this prosecutor did not find any facts incriminating Trump within the scope of the assigned investigation topic, he wanted to expand it and look at Trump’s finances, the latter warned him about a possible dismissal, and, no matter how much the Clintonoids scream, if he does dismiss Mueller, neither the Congress, nor the Senate will not consider the impeachment on the basis of obstruction of justice.

Of course, there is a colossal force on the side of the Clintonoids, and they would insist on impeachment, despite the fact that Republicans have a majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, but somewhere beyond the horizon, the Second Civil War is already rumbling, and fear, that in case of abuse of this power and this force, the American working class will crack down on the establishment ala October 1917 in Russia, and put a cross on both.

But for a revolution and a real civil war, not only a revolutionary situation is needed, but a revolutionary party on an ideological basis, and this party, using the 2008 crisis, was created by one man – Steve Bannon – right in front of the establishment.

And retrospectively it is clear that he was preparing to seize power by force if Hillary Clinton became President, but the protest of the American people against her and what she was bringing to America and the world, turned out to be so fierce (thanks to thousands of such freaks like me, who sat on the Internet 24/7 explaining what Hillary Clinton is), that Steve Bannon became the main strategist = the main ideologist of the White House, and the revolution that he prepared according to the recipes of V. Lenin turned into a revolution from above, conducted by Donald Trump, whose intuitive ideology is really similar to what Steve Bannon says in his films:

I doubt that Trump will ever be removed from office via the 25th Amendment for his current performance. Until you mix a major health issue in there, the odds of him being removed from office are next to zero. If GWB could not get impeached over Iraq and his intellectual incomeptence, Trump will be in office until no sooner than January 2021.

Even Trump was caught anally fucking Putin’s favorite goat in the rose garden while children watched, I doubt he would be removed from office.

You anti-Trump people have to understand that many people voted for him because he is not HRC. That alone was qualification enough to vote for Trump. He was just a convenient political Molotov cocktail that could be thrown at the powers in Washington DC because they absolutely could not vote for Hillary.

Trump is only cementing his reelection in 2020 by his current behavior because you have to admit, the deep state in DC hate him and it warms the cockles of middle America’s heart to see this. This is a political never ending shit show. Middle America will vote for him again just for the amusement of watching the SJW cry on live national TV, seeing the frustration on the legislature, and his many entertaining tweets where he says things many of us think and feel but don’t say them out loud out of fear of losing a job or good friends. His lack of a filter is a breath of fresh air in a highly politicized PC atmosphere.

His presidency is better than watching trash TV in the afternoon where the same old story of finding out who the biologic father is of a bastard sitting on a single mother’s lap etc as she cries. President trump is always giving us new entertaining material rather than recycling the same old boring shit as they do on afternoon TV.

Until you mix a major health issue in there, the odds of him being removed from office are next to zero. thenuttyneutron

Before the 2018 midterm people will be so pissed at Trump … by mixing in health care collapse, by mixing in other things like failure to build infrastructure, no border wall, no Mexico paying for border wall, no locking up HRC, no new jobs for the unemployed, no old jobs for coal miners, no stopping of North Korea’s submarine ICBM launch development, no mass deportation of illegal immigrants, no stopping of exporting jobs, etc. etc.

Even those who voted for him in 2016 will vote against him once they start feeling the pain and realize the extent to which they have been deceived … by a billionaire who does not and never did care about them. He just used appealing politically incorrect speech to get votes. Now that they see they were lied to, and their situation is not improving, they won’t be fooled again.

I’d say most people voted against Hillary than for Trump. The Donald was SAYING the things we like to hear but, I could smell the 2008 Obama psy-op in play, albeit with difference rhetoric.

Just as Ronald Ray-Gun was NOT supposed to happen, Trump managed to get by the gatekeepers. AND just as TPTB told RR to take on their minion (GHW Bush) or they’d throw the election back to Jimmy Carter, the same PTB told Trump to take on their minion, Mike Pence. Since Hillary was entirely unelectable, it will be a mystery as to how TPTB blackmailed Trump and why they chose Pence to be his VP.

I’ve said repeatedly that We Teh Serfs are permitted to vote ONLY for the propaganda we like.

I voted for Darrell Castle of the Constitution Party in 2016. My hands are clean.

Letter from New York: Premonition of the Civil War

In New York, crowds of preachers appear periodically in the subway, of which no one usually pays any attention to – everyone knows that all kinds of Protestant schools are sending their graduates to practice preaching.

But today the car has quieted down, listening to the preacher who told the story of Senator McCain’s life in the sense that brain cancer is a payoff for the support of the Clintons (he said so) and that God will blow up the Yellowstone volcano if America does not stop sending McCains to bomb Vietnam, Korea, Syria, Libya, etc.

I have my mailbox inundated with letters of the same content, but that’s because I’m on every pro-Trump site. But like this in the subway…!!!

Impressed by this preacher, I went to the Union Square after work, this place blooms with stories like that, especially Yellowstone. It went so far that the theme of McCain, punished by higher forces with cancer for his political position, spilled over into the press

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/john-mccain-cancer-godly-justice-183429279.html

Never such was, and suddenly again?!

MORE GREAT NEWS: Tokyo Rose McCain has a particularly aggressive form of cancer…..less than a 4% chance of being alive carrying out jooie policy 5 years from now. His best recordings from Hanoi are still available on line. Sedition runs in the family…..his equally vile admiral father covered up the attack on the USS Liberty by the vile treacherous Izzies. Rose is the only american flier to almost sink a US carrier, the USS Forrestal. Pranking the plane behind with an afterburner pop started the Forrestal fire that killed 134 sailors….again covered up by his vile admiral father. Let’s hope the cancer is contagious and Dame Lindsey Graham along with the rest of the US Knesset get it next……..

James Forrestal: The Russians are coming

With that phrase United States Secretary of Defense James Forrestal jumped from the window to his death in 1949. He had developed paranoia on the basis of a guilty conscience, associated with his participation in the pro-Nazi coup of Vice President Truman, and it may very well be that when he shouted “Russians are coming!”, he saw Roosevelt’s supporters, who had come to arrest him for complicity in the murder of the President, who really had a very good attitude toward Russia and especially to the head of historical Russia at the time Joseph Stalin.

In addition, it could’ve seen the Israeli militia Irgun fighters who really wanted to kill him, because his attitude toward the Jews was about the same as that of Hitler, and to Israel same as Gamal Abdel Nasser. And he wanted to destroy Israel using Arabs ala “Oslo Accords”, the authorship for which was later claimed by the First Lady Hillary Clinton.

It emerged during the hearing that the 7,000 new documents were turned over. The trove is expected to contain some emails sent by Weiner’s estranged wife, Clinton aide Huma Abedin.”

It’s what RobH, Ozone, swmnguy and Beryl said. The interests of medical racketeers overlap with those of Wall Street racketeers and their Ponzi schemes. Given that Congress is in the pockets of both/either, the likelihood of government dialing down that 18% take is slim to nonexistent.

  42. volodya July 22, 2017 at 10:18 am #

In that great hall of mirrors we call the Cosmos, there’s a multitude of ways that reality can take shape. Take your own self fer instance. How did YOU take shape? It was via a complex, messy, iinexact process of strands of DNA (your mammy’s and pappy’s) intertwining and then wrapping themselves around sugar molecules called histones much like a garden hose wraps around a reel.

How this DNA is actually expressed in you, the organism, whether you’re Mr Ozone or Mr Elrond or Mr Skorzeny depends on how the protein producing factory inside each cell accesses the various parts of the DNA molecule. And that depends on how the DNA wraps itself around those aforesaid histones. But this is a simplified account as the molecular world doesn’t give up its secrets easily.

The universe at large is similarly complex. The societal DNA of the USA produced an organism called President Trump but those various strands (think of citizens and local associations in place of molecules like adenine, cytosine, guanine and thymine) could have come together a multitude of ways.

No matter the profusion of possibilities, something like Trump was going to take shape. DNA gives wide latitude but in the end the creature still has two arms, two legs etc. Same thing with societal DNA. Something like Trump, saying similar things as Trump, addressing the same constituencies as Trump, was a likelihood if not a necessity.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 22, 2017 at 1:35 pm #

It depends what you have to begin with or who your parents were. And what you need or the epigenetic angle. From the complete genetic trove which you contain, you draw a hand from the pack. If you need something different from your parents, you can put some cards down and pick a few up.

Societal DNA: memes not genes. The mystic chords of shared memory. Now at last we begin to fight against the Alien Tribes and the traitors who brought them here. And all Leftists are traitors by definition.

Just watched the movie “Prometheus”. Mankind was created by a Race of Supermen called “The Engineers” in their own image. Yet for some reason, they came to hate us and were planning to wipe the Earth clean of human life by bringing Aliens (like the movie, not like Elrond or Thwack though the analogy is illuminating).

      • volodya July 22, 2017 at 2:18 pm #

Yeah, plus the epigenetic angle. The thing is that no matter all the posturing, how you go from DNA to a functioning being is still mostly unknown. And, I’ll bet there’s bio-molecular mechanisms at work on the process as well as on the evolutionary process that nobody’s guessed at. That is, the growth process, as well as that of evolution, ie intergenerational change, is still an unformed science. Not nowhere near “settled” (unlike what they claim about climate science- biggest joke going) no matter what the high and mighty evolutionsists insist. But shhhhh, we don’t want to be accused of anti-science creationism.

        • sophia July 22, 2017 at 3:00 pm #

          Great paragraph, that.

        • Elrond Hubbard July 23, 2017 at 11:57 am #

volodya: “how you go from DNA to a functioning being is still mostly unknown”.

That’s true and untrue. It’s hard to express just how complex the development of even the simplest living things actually is. On the other hand, we know that some things happen (evolution by natural selection is one of the most well-founded theories in all of science) and other things just don’t (fruit flies don’t give birth to manatees), so we it’s not as if we’re completely blind.

Someone here turned me on to Robert Sapolsky, and right now I’m working my way through his new book Behave: The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst. Chapter 8 has a lot of detail on this very subject. Enjoy!

      • volodya July 22, 2017 at 2:20 pm #

But yeah, using the DNA analogy with respect to what societies spit up is at best a sloppy one.

Somalis are in Lewiston, Maine, an old New England mill town that was %100 white and working class. Most of the population there were of course not wealthy or well educated therefore they had no political power. The white people were and are law abiding, non-violent, socially conservative, patriotic and Catholic/Protestant. They are despised by the ruling class of this country and are the epitome of what needs to be destroyed i.e. “deplorables” according to our betters.

The geniuses in the ruling class used the useful idiots of Catholic/Lutheran and other “charities” to bring these animals to Lewiston where they promptly went on welfare, roamed around all day in colorful bed sheets, popped out niglets and complained about discrimination. Their patrons hundreds of miles away kept the courts busy with profitable lawsuits while heaping abuse on the “racist” white people of Lewiston.

The Somalis are %100 dependent upon the government’s welfare system for their daily bread. They are not even remotely self sufficient, thrifty, industrious, modest or otherwise virtuous. They are also not very good in winter where the temperature can be 10 deg. F. for days in a row and there can be a foot of snow or more on the ground. They tend to hibernate during the winter at least more than the warmer months.

Compare and contrast with typical real Americans in Maine.
Most people hunt and fish, camping/hiking is huge (the Appalachian Mountain Trail terminates in Maine), there is a big sailing/outdoors aspect to life as well as being prepared for bad contingencies. In Maine as in the rest of rural New England everyone owns firearms.

When the wheels come off BRA which they surely will the arrogant, demanding, viscous, filthy Moslem Somalis will be on their own, the government will surely fail them. They will then need the constant assistance of the white people of Maine just to survive, the same people they openly despise now. The heavily armed white people in Maine, normally reserved but actually very helpful and generous will defend themselves against the absent government’s pets if necessary and the Somalis know this.

The Somalis are in for a rude awakening when BRA fails, they have made enemies of the very people they will need whom they have also badly underestimated. Their sponsors will be nowhere to be found, the Somalis will be on their own without any useful skills or preps, just anger and attitude. Those aren’t very useful when there is a foot of snow on the ground. the electricity has failed and the temperature is 10 deg. F. outside and falling fast inside.

They should have stayed in the shithole of Somalia.

          • JimInFlorida July 22, 2017 at 9:20 pm #

I have to agree with thwack about Whites being soft, fat, and lazy.

We had numerous chances to kick off another civil war when the odds were in our favor. But, we loved our STUFF too much.

In 1954, Eisenhower sent the 101st Airborne to RAM integration down the throat of Central High School in Little Rock. The POTUS had NO RIGHT to invade an allegedly “sovereign” State to do that. Brown vs Board of Education notwithstanding. There were enough WW2 and Korean vets still in fighting shape and could have mounted a credible insurrection. BUT, the Blue Pill patriot hallucination was strong back then and we probably saw Washington as a legitimate authority. Even if we didn’t like certain aspects of it.

In 1963, JFK ordered the Federalized Alabama National Guard to RAM integration down the throat of the University of Alabama. Again, the Blue Pill of “legitimacy” prevented the Alabama Guard from committing mass mutiny and siding with Governor Wallace. They could have also marshaled all able-bodied White men to shoot it out and contain U.S. military installations. But, we were hypnotized by CAMELOT.

On a more egalitarian note, Globalism deindustrialized us and sent thousands of factories to the docks in California to be shipped to the Corporate Promised Land of China. American workers could have firebombed those plants slated for the sweatshops and prevented anything leaving intact. Truckers could have refused to move the tooling. Longshoremen could have refused to load the ships with the stolen assembly machines. Americans could have sabotaged and harassed scabs caught moving America’s industrial power to the docks.

But, We Teh Serfs were constantly brainwashed with Ghandi-esque propaganda that featured non-violence. That served TPTB very well and they laughed as we did numerous “peaceful protests” against the naked robbery of our inheritance.

Fuck The Troops and the Police are NOT your friends. They will be the first to mow Whitey down if we actually burn down mosques and fight to reclaim our miserable estate.

Jim from the Sunshine State wrote “I have YET to hear WHY any exchange or collusion with Putin’s Russia is a bad thing!” Others, including JHK, have stated similar observations: colluding with foreigners to win an election isn’t so bad, the Dems did it too, the US interferes all over the world, etc.

Ok, fine. But with strong indications (some coming from Trump’s inner circle) of indebtedness to Russian business interests, money laundering, his Secretary of State’s ties stemming from the oil industry, the obvious conflicts of interest related to his own businesses here in the US, the frantic lies and attempts to cover-up—are writers here comfortable saying it’s crazy to investigate the source of this stink? What good would an administration so compromised and so corrupt—if any of this is true—be in addressing what JHK is constantly telling us needs to be done if we’re to have a soft-landing in an unavoidable power-down and decline in living standards? Or have we given up on that? It’s all FUBAR, so let’s just drop it?

Why was the same “get-over-it-you’re-crazy-to-go-after-them attitude not applied here to the Wall Street meltdown, and all the bankers who got to skate without any investigation and punishment? Holder said there wasn’t enough evidence, we need to move on, etc. JHK’s oft-repeated lament that this failing, largely on the part of the Obama justice department, showed that “Anything goes, and nothing matters.” Letting Trump and his family syndicate off the hook with their highly suspicious connections abroad supports the same notion.

(And, PLEASE, don’t cast me as some sort of DNC hack/Hillary supporter. I am not now, nor ever was, either.)

    • volodya July 22, 2017 at 2:35 pm #

So, Trump’s possible dealings with Russkis potentially taints him. Conflicts of interests and all that. “Stink” as you put it. To be fair, it might.

But consider this, Bill and Hillary’s took 150 million bucks for – cough – speaking fees. That doesn’t taint them? And Bill’s taking 600g for those laughable “speeches” while the Uranium One deal was awaiting approval by the State Dept while Hill was Secretary is A-ok? And how many millions did the parties to that deal cough up for the Clinton Foundation?

Seems to me that if you want to purge the political system and deodorize it there some real huge piles of crap laid by the Clintons right on the doorstep. Maybe start with those.

      • Petro July 22, 2017 at 3:27 pm #

You’re right—all big piles of crap that I criticized to anybody who’d listen. But those people are not in power right now. No one was prosecuted then, so don’t do anything now? That’s the problem, we keep letting these administrations get away with corruption, war crimes, illegally selling arms, etc., with no accountability, no punishment, and it just gives license to whoever sits in the oval office next.

So far I haven’t spotted any, which is bad news for the Dems as they are counting on the Tranny vote to put them over the top in the 2018 elections. Its not cheap, converting ordinary restrooms into special mixed use Tranny restrooms. What with the State deep in debt and Capitol City contemplating bankruptcy, its quite a strain on the budget. No matter, it seems there’s always plenty of swag for sh*t like this, regardless of deficits, looming bankruptcy and deep budget cuts.

Sad story in Hartford, elderly black man who spent his life working on oil rigs around the country, retired, sitting in a shady spot on a hot day at a picnic table in the park, shot in the head by 2 ‘Youts’, head blown off, just for the hell of it … 16 & 18 years old, stolen car and stolen gun. The victim apparently was one of these guys who went around the neighborhood (North end) helping people out with his electrician and plumbing skills. Jim, New Urbanism, Old Urbanism, how can there be any urbanism at all with this kind of thing happening? It makes one want to get as far away from these squalid, bloody urban crapholes as possible, and build a moat around them. the killers? well one was an aspiring ‘rapper’, the other, like Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo, was ready to enroll in college, what else? (Princeton, Brown? they didn’t say)

      BRH,
The ol’ Steven Bullock “example” for rabid psychopathic predators such as these could be a useful reminder of some basic social courtesies. How ’bout several sets of “well-designed and aesthetically-pleasing” multi-scaffolds down on the Riverfront Recapture area? When the wind gets a bit ripe with the aging carcasses, toss ’em in the Connecticut for some additional fish food. (Git yer waders *on* fisherfolk!) With the project open to public donations, it probably won’t cost the shitty fathers one copper-clad zinc penny.

Funny you should mention that, Oz. For some reason I’ve begun reading about pirates, terror of the seas from about 1650 to roughly 1726. There’s quite a lot of New England history in there because so many of them came from Boston, Newport, New London and so on. Anyway, authorities finally ended it, and ended it rather abruptly, by hanging all the pirates. In fact there were some pretty spectacular mass hangings in Boston and Newport.

Maybe that’s what it will come to here if hard times really hit. Jim suggests as much in his world made by hand books.

          Grisly evidence:

“Iraqi security forces kill Isis prisoners because they believe that if the militants are sent to prison camps they will bribe the authorities in Baghdad to release them. “That is why Iraqi soldiers prefer to shoot them or throw them off high buildings,” says one Iraqi source. A former senior Iraqi official said he could name the exact sum that it would take for an Isis member to buy papers enabling him to move freely around Iraq.

The belief by Iraqi soldiers and militiamen that their own government is too corrupt to keep captured Isis fighters in detention [by way of bribery] is one reason why the bodies of Isis suspects, shot in the head or body and with their hands tied behind their backs, are found floating in the Tigris river downstream from Mosul. Revenge and hatred provoked by Isis atrocities are motives for extrajudicial killings by death squads, but so is distrust of an Iraqi judicial system, which is notoriously corrupt and dysfunctional.” — Patrick Cockburn

Are Iraqi’s any more brutal or morally numb than “the next guy” would be in a lawless and brutal, broken land? I don’t think so. Any society pushed to these murderous limits will find itself thinking (and doing) the [formerly] unthinkable.

…And The Worldwide War on Empathy continues and swells, unabated. That’s not accidental in any way.

Saddam knew what the hell he was doing and how to run Iraq correctly. Ditto for Muammar Gaddafi.

Washington and Wall Street saw all of that untapped wealth and just had to steal it. We Teh Serfs are all too easily duped with the standard propaganda of “democracy” and why we should bless these functioning countries with our shit.

Fortunately, these Iraqi security forces still understand how things must be done (however distasteful) and they dispatched our ISIS goons in the most proper fashion.

Vladimir Putin: Ivan the Terrible was Slandered by the Vatican

“As for the various distortions of our history …” said V.Putin. – You know, it was almost always, throughout our history. Why? Because, as Alexander III once said, our vastness scares everybody. And that’s why we have only two real allies – the Army and the Navy, but this way of fighting against Russia[by the distortion of Russian history], it has always been used. ”

“Take the famous legend that Ivan the Terrible killed his son. It’s still unknown whether he killed his son or not. Many researchers believe that he did not kill anyone at all, and was slandered by a papal nuncio, who came to him for talks to turn the Orthodox Rus to Catholic Russia”

“if we actually burn down mosques” –jiminflorida

Our nation was founded on freedom of religion. Why would you want to burn down a place of worship? That is un-American.

Islam is a religion of peace … unless attacked, in which case Muslims will defend their faith. There are millions of peaceful American Muslims living here peacefully and worshipping in mosques. Leave them alone or better yet, join with them as fellow Americans who are a valuable part of our multicultural nation.

    • JimInFlorida July 22, 2017 at 11:26 pm #

The founding of the U.S. was predicated on CHRISTIANITY as the faith of the land. The Founding Fathers had NO IDEA that alien cults would be imported AGAINST THE WILL of We Teh Serfs.

Islam is anti-American and to import such people is anti-American.

Muslims are peaceful only if their subjugated victims convert or pay the dhimmi. They are only “peaceful” in the West as an act of taqiyya.

If Christians defended their faith in the same robust manner, we would be denounced as racist, bigots, homophobes, xenophobes, etc.

Muslims in the West must never be left alone as they have no intention of leaving their gullible hosts alone.

The theme of “multicultural America” was a perverse invention of the counter-culture and THOSE who were the sowers of that pathology.

      • Elrond Hubbard July 23, 2017 at 10:45 am #

Your claim that the U.S. was founded on Christianity is contradicted by the text of the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…” This establishes clearly that the U.S. government is not in the business of making people be Christian, forbidding them to be Muslims, or anything else. Many of those who left Europe for the colonies did so to escape government interference in their religious lives. (Including my own ancestors, who likely had Jacobite sympathies.)

Your claim is also contradicted by the facts of history:

“Muslims arrived in North America as early as the 17th century, eventually composing 15 to 30 percent of the enslaved West African population of British America. (Muslims from the Middle East did not begin to immigrate here as free citizens until the late 19th century.) Even key American Founding Fathers demonstrated a marked interest in the faith and its practitioners, most notably Thomas Jefferson.

“As a 22-year-old law student in Williamsburg, Virginia, Jefferson bought a Qur’an—11 years before drafting the Declaration of Independence. …

“Although Jefferson did not leave any notes on his immediate reaction to the Qur’an, he did criticize Islam as ‘stifling free enquiry’ in his early political debates in Virginia, a charge he also leveled against Catholicism. He thought both religions fused religion and the state at a time he wished to separate them in his commonwealth. [emphasis added]

“Despite his criticism of Islam, Jefferson supported the rights of its adherents. Evidence exists that Jefferson had been thinking privately about Muslim inclusion in his new country since 1776. A few months after penning the Declaration of Independence, he returned to Virginia to draft legislation about religion for his native state, writing in his private notes a paraphrase of the English philosopher John Locke’s 1689 ‘Letter on Toleration’:

“‘[he] says neither Pagan nor Mahometan [Muslim] nor Jew ought to be excluded from the civil rights of the commonwealth because of his religion.’

“The precedents Jefferson copied from Locke echo strongly in his Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom, which proclaims:

“‘(O)ur civil rights have no dependence on our religious opinions.'”

        • JimInFlorida July 23, 2017 at 3:22 pm #

AGAIN, Mr Elrond, the Founding Fathers had NO IDEA that distant generations would so deliberately undermine their national home and pollute those organic traditions integral to (what used to be) the national conscience. Jefferson was blind to the demons that would crawl through the open door of his tolerance.

John Adams saw the fatal flaw of the U.S. Constitution and English scholar, Lord Macaulay, elaborated on those flaws and the inevitable outcome. The outcome was perfectly fulfilled by the counter-culture and that pathology continues to pummel the body-politic.

Also, consider the source of this perverse opinion piece (“facts of history”), by a questionable commentator (SpellBERG) and that it was written for a known New Leftist rag. Jewish media loves to cherry-pick history and fabricate a new narrative that complements their malevolent cult of multiculturalism.

Back to Jefferson and Muslims. Jefferson erred on the side of plurality only because Islam was a VERY MINOR oddity in the Colonial body-politic and thus, was as tolerable as an oddly colored handkerchief in the pocket of an otherwise respectable English gentleman. Freedom of religion, in Jefferson’s mind, was along the lines of accommodating the various Protestant factions and maybe the Catholics. Anything outside of that was so irrelevant at the time as to not warrant special mention.

Had Jefferson seen 200 years into the future, he would have penned things very differently. He had NO INTENTION of the Constitution or the Bill of Rights being misused as license for evil, to overthrow homogeneous society, or enable domestic enemies to rob their posterity and give to unwanted aliens.

          • Elrond Hubbard July 23, 2017 at 5:12 pm #

JimInFlorida, first you say Jefferson was blind to the consequences of his tolerance, indicating that you agree his tolerance extended to Muslims. Then you assert that in Jefferson’s mind, freedom of religion was a matter of Protestants only (and maybe Catholics). Which is it? They can’t both be true. Pick one.

In any case, Jefferson had no need to see 200 years into the future; 1861 would have been far enough to witness the consequences of the United States’ initial composition as part free, part slave empire. As of the 1860 census, an eighth (13%) of Americans were someone else’s property, but the distribution was lopsided: 57% of South Carolinans, 55% of Mississippians, 47% of the population of Louisiana, versus zero in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania…

Happily the slave power was defeated, though it cost an enormous price in blood. But the North got there first, with nary a drop shed; it was the planters who preferred mass slaughter to the curtailment of their great sin. Tell me, is the fact that half the United States peacefully chose freedom over slavery something the Jews accomplished, from all the way over in the Pale of Settlement? Or was it the conscience of the American people, active in the North if not in the South?

And what about John Locke? It was his ‘Letter on Toleration’ that Jefferson quoted with approval. Was John Locke a Jew? Is it totally beyond your conception that that was Locke’s authentic, untainted opinion, as a matter of principle, and remains one of the fundamental principles of the west to this day?

          • JimInFlorida July 23, 2017 at 9:13 pm #

Elrond, if you are facing many problems at one time, would you not prioritize (or triage) the problems so that they may be managed better?

In the case of Jefferson, I asserted that he viewed Freedom Of Religion along the lines of the most important factions of the day. The culture of Colonial America was most certainly Protestant and that includes many factions. Fortunately, they share many common beliefs and could all trace their theology to Martin Luther. THAT kind of diversity can work and THAT was what Jefferson had in mind.

AGAIN… Islam was such a MINOR presence that it was little more than a crumb on the dinner plate. He could triage that minor presence into an irrelevant concern and ignore the danger when he penned the First Amendment.

Yes, you are right about it all coming apart in 1861. It was foreseen by John Adams and his peers on both sides of the Atlantic. Had we been the multicultural dumpster that we are now, we would never have recovered after the Civil War.

I am more concerned about the fact that America FINALLY achieved its promise in the 20th century and then threw it all away for the sake of multiculturalism. A political pathology that grew out of the counter-culture. Show me your defense of multiculturalism and I’ll show you White Flight, urban decay, and mass anomie. Those last three trump any academic musings of what Jefferson may, or may not, have intended!

I will always assert that, had the Founding Fathers seen the ultimate outcome, they would have penned the Constitution and the Bill of Rights very differently. The evidence is on my side.

The Dulles’ Plan and the Geopolitical Catastrophe

I watched four or five films by Steve Bannon and realized that I was right to start exploring color world projects, since without this methodology it is impossible to understand that the Dulles plan was formed in the 11th century in the Alamut Castle and the Trump revolution is a Red World Project, that is, the English yeomen who first stood under the banners of Robin Hood and Richard the Lionheart against the heirs of Brian de Bois-Guilbert and Hassan-i Sabbah, and then defeated the creator of the parliamentary system and non-traditional society only to restore them for the marriage of Anne Boleyn, who, by the will of fate, in turn restored the oldest on the planet Church of England.

And since that time in the decisive battles, they somehow always turned out to be the allies of Byzantium, and then of historical Russia!

    The Dulles’ Plan

    Brian de Bois-Guilbert:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivanhoe

    Hassan-i Sabbah

Everything changes, slogans, ideas, geography, but the Worldview, or rather, the World Project remains, and although its path has been extricated from the classical history of monarchs, classes, social progress and geopolitical catastrophes, but in art one can clearly see how it goes though with dotted, but continuous line from Palestine of the 11th century to today’s New York and London.

And in our time it is best seen in the abyss that separates the historical optimism of such films as “The Dead Zone” and “O Lucky One” from the gloomy pessimism of the “Matrix”, which really came about both in life and in art with the coming to power of Hillary Clinton, and throughout the world, not just in the US and in the West.

In America, a pluralistic nation, they are friends who share interfaith gatherings, who share houses of worship in times of need, who share a common citizenship. I have experienced it myself. Taqiyya? You made me laugh!

I see the problem. Worshipping the true God in a false way is no more acceptable than worshipping a false god. This is idolatry as well. Worshipping is not the main thing. Obedience is the main thing.

Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep my commandments.” That is the measure of true worship, not lip-service.

Eight dead in trailer outside San Antonio Walmart ‘were very hot to touch’
    – Police ‘looking at a human trafficking crime’ as 28 taken to hospital
    – CCTV footage shows vehicles picking up other people from trailer

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jul/23/people-found-dead-trailer-san-antonio-walmart-human-trafficking

“Eight people were found dead in a tractor-trailer loaded outside a Walmart store in the stifling summer heat of Texas, in what police are calling a horrific human trafficking case. The driver was arrested.

“Twenty other people in extremely critical or serious condition and eight more with lesser injuries including heat stroke and dehydration were found inside the truck, which did not have a working air conditioning system despite blistering temperatures that topped 100F (37C), authorities said.

“‘They were very hot to the touch,’ said San Antonio fire chief Charles Hood, briefing journalists at the scene in video that authorities posted on social media. ‘So these people were in this trailer without any signs of any type of water. It was a mass casualty situation for us.

“‘We are very fortunate that there weren’t 38 people who were locked inside of this vehicle dead.’

“‘We’re looking at a human trafficking crime this evening,’ McManus said, adding that many of those inside the truck appeared to be adults in their 20s and 30s but there were also apparently two school-age children. He called the case ‘a horrific tragedy’.”

Anyone feel bad for these people? I do.

I feel for those nameless immigrants who live with poverty, violence, and fear. Since reading Frantz Fanon in the sixties I have worked for social justice to better their lot.

I am proud to be a social justice warrior and a feminist. It is wonderful to have lived to see so many positive changes for women, differently gendered, and people of color in my lifetime.

For example, gay marriage is now legal in all 50 states, and that was unimaginable just ten years ago, when even Obama was against gay marriage. I am tremendously hopeful about our successes… about the scope and the direction of recent social changes.

Im not sure what you are trying to say NSA; but James J Omeara wrote a book called “The Homo and the Negro” in which I thought he offered a fascinating and novel explanation for what HE describes as the crisis of contemporary white male masculinity.

When I raised the issue on racist websites and blogs, I was either ignored or banned.

In a nutshell, Omears premise is:

White males are being told: “if you are too smart, and particular… YOU’RE A FAGGOT.

But if you are too simple and vulgar,

        YOU’RE A NIGGER.

I don’t know what Omeara’s “prescription” is because I didn’t read his book; but I think his description of the problem is accurate.

Connor McGregor is an example of the latter.

From that point of view, there are only 3 monotheistic religions in the world: the Islam, the Orthodox Christianity, and Judaism.

Finca, you are opening a can of worms that exposes christian deception. Although christians say there is only one god, they actually speak of many gods: God the Father, God the Son, The Holy Ghost, etc.

Whatever Uncle Ruckus says gets played back 3x before continuing. “There’s powerful niggatry at work here.”

Yes, that too, also there is a question of inoculate conception which differs between Orthodox and Catholics to the exact opposite, but perhaps the other time.

      • sophia July 23, 2017 at 8:38 pm #

I actually agree with you here. I think Christians are confused.

But the only true monotheists that I know of are the Hindus, who understand advaita.

God is all there is. The One without a second.

    • sophia July 23, 2017 at 8:35 pm #

Fink, are you saying that the Catholics and Protestants consider Satan a separate God?

  57. volodya July 23, 2017 at 2:28 pm #

Elrond, my understanding is that natural selection is the mechanism that culls the unable and the unfit from a population of organisms.

But there has to be other mechanisms at work in the evolutionary process that actually create different versions of organisms, some capable of competing and surviving and reproducing, and some not able. This is where natural selection comes in, to separate the men from the boys so to speak.

I wouldn’t bet that random mutation is the only mechanism that creates. I would bet on more bio-molecular processes, as yet unknown, that do the job.

For example, the evolution of whales is one that is splendidly well attested in the fossil record. But the process of evolution from a shore dwelling quadruped to fully aquatic in such a short span of a few hundred thousand years can’t have happened as the result of only random mutation. There has to be as yet unknown processes at work at the molecular level.

There’s other examples also but whales are the best one and really well seen in the fossil record. Stay tuned, there’s research as we speak as the ability to peer into the molecular realm has gotten a lot better.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 23, 2017 at 3:45 pm #

Yes the awkward in between stages are the mother fucker. What good are legs that are half way to being fins? They serve neither function well and the individual is not viable. Unless they were so big no predator could hurt them, but that’s rare indeed.

      • volodya July 23, 2017 at 3:57 pm #

Otters and seals could be transitional between quadruped to fully aquatic but your point is correct. For example, how did hominins do it, ie go from tree dwelling knuckle-walkers like chimps, to fully erect striders?

How do you do the transition with all the more or less simultaneous required changes in knees, feet, neurology, the spinal chord, skulls, internal organs etc etc. Massively complex and fraught with possibility of calamitous failure. Hard to picture viable organisms betwixt and between.

        • Elrond Hubbard July 23, 2017 at 5:43 pm #

People often raise transitional forms as an objection to natural selection being the mechanism for evolution. The basic mistake is teleology, i.e. the idea that evolution is purposeful or has some kind of goal in mind. Evolution doesn’t “cull the unable and the unfit from a population of organisms”, because ‘ability’ and ‘fitness’ are post-hoc value judgements, while evolution is a blind, value-free process that always takes place strictly in the present tense.

To use the example of the whale, it’s true that modern whales are much better at swimming, holding their breath underwater, and just basically being all-around better aquatic animals than their distant ancestor. But that doesn’t make the ancestor a defective whale; in fact, it was a perfectly adequate version of itself. This is demonstrated by the fact that they left descendants in our time, however modified. Given enough time, the most minuscule advantages in the most niche environments can survive and even dominate over the long term. There are no grand judgements: “You’re fit! You’re unfit!” Only the differential reproduction of genes and traits in unique circumstances matters.

There’s also more to evolution than random mutations, although they play a significant role. Most populations have a greater or lesser degree of existing variation, which is constantly mixed and matched among sexually reproducing species.

          • messianicdruid July 23, 2017 at 6:22 pm #

Adaptation to environment is still adaptation. You could still call the ancestor of the whale, a whale, but your idea of what a whale is would not permit it. Your idea cannot adapt.

    • thwack July 23, 2017 at 5:00 pm #

“I wouldn’t bet that random mutation is the only mechanism that creates. I would bet on more bio-molecular processes, as yet unknown, that do the job.”

      **************************

I wouldn’t bet on random mutation at all?

Since when has a million niggers tapping away at a million keyboards, for a million years; produced the written works of Shakespeare?

      You have an INFORMATION problem.

But NOT a noise problem; random actions will produce plenty of that; thats why I don’t let girlfriends work on my car; they just wanna try shit…?

      Look,

the process of Michael Jordan “evolving” into Michael Phelps would result in a long period of time where he could neither swim nor dunk; what happens then?

Who says I want to reinvent human nature? Will you never free yourself of your preconceptions? For example, that Lefty the Cartoon Demon who lives in your head is something real, and that I’m somehow made in his image? I’ve said this before: I’m no one special. I’m just some rando on the Internet with an opinion. As for human nature, it is what it is. It’s what we have to work with, for better or worse. I focus on the better.

Regarding the First amendment that sez in part:Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…

Separation of church and state: from talking to people, it seems that a lot of them think that this blurb was meant to keep religious people and their churches from meddling in government. Methinks it is more the other way, that it was to keep the government from meddling in church affairs and to stop official persecution of religious non-conformists.

We’ll see how the first interpretation works when there’s a critical mass of Muslim American voters that want separation of sexes in public schools, public swimming pools etc. Will the wall between church and state apply then? The separation of church and state argument stopped school prayer. We’ll see how that stands up when Muslim voters want religious observance for Muslim students in schools. My guess is that the Wall of Separation buckles.

janet advises: “Finca, you are opening a can of worms that exposes christian deception. Although christians say there is only one god, they actually speak of many gods: God the Father, God the Son, The Holy Ghost, etc.”

I should hav seen where you were going with your praise of “monotheism”. Your role is to “speak evil” of the Way. Seems like you can’t avoid it.

    • sophia July 23, 2017 at 8:46 pm #

Perhaps the churches are all a bit different in their presentations, but I am pretty sure that the expression most often used is “three persons.”

      • JimInFlorida July 23, 2017 at 9:41 pm #

Three characteristics from one thing is easy.

        Take an incandescent light bulb.

The Father is the power feeding the bulb.
The Son is the light bulb itself.
The Holy Ghost is the light and heat emanating from the bulb.

One bulb. Three powers at work.

        • sophia July 23, 2017 at 10:35 pm #

I like the sun analogy better. The sun itself is the Father, the light is the Son and the heat is the Holy Spirit.

But it’s one sun. However, I don’t think that is how it is with the trinity.

The anti-Russian bill irrecoverably splits the Republican Party

Representatives of the Congress reached an agreement with representatives of the Senate on the text of the bill on new sanctions imposed on Russia for interference in the election of the US president. And President Trump implicitly, through newly appointed representatives on public relations, made it clear that he will sign this law, despite the fact that the characteristic feature of this bill are items that significantly limit Trump’s ability to weaken these sanctions imposed on Russia, including the return of Russia’s diplomatic property.

Meanwhile, these items make this law not anti-Russian, but anti-Trump, as the motive for its enactment was the desire of the Clintonoids to limit Trump’s opportunities to solve those problems in US foreign policy that he inherited from the Obama administration or rather the Hillary Clinton administration. And in this regard, the most important question is why the Republicans in Congress and in the Senate ignored the President’s wishes to weaken the aforementioned measures that limit his authority in foreign policy. The answer to this question is very difficult, but for the supporters of Trump, who continue to back him, periodically checking their weapons rooms, it is important that the Senate voted on this bill on the day when Congressman Scalise was almost assassinated.

And Congressman Scalise was the so-called Whip of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives and it was his job to ensure the correct vote of the Republican congressmen, in accordance with the President’s wishes, and this agreement is undoubtedly the result of the efforts of Paul Ryan, the Speaker of the House, who during the election campaign called on Republicans to vote for Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton.

Therefore, for Trump supporters, this bill is an action against Trump by the Clintonoids in the Republican Party, and the success of this action is determined by the use of armed violence against them, and not against Russia. I would even say the terror of the Clintonoids against the US Congress and the leaders of the Republicans, who supported the anti-Trump measures in this bill, signed under this act of terror.

And so the main result of this bill will be the growth of sympathy for Russia in the US, as well as the growing hostility and even hatred of the core of the Republican Party toward the speaker of the Congress, Paul Ryan. Americans who support Trump certainly realize that Hillary Clinton’s supporters are the deadly enemy of the Trump’s America (as Angela Merkel called it), and Russia objectively is the enemy of this enemy.

” If they think that one god takes many forms, then maybe christians should more truthfully call themselves polytheistic or pantheistic.”

” one god takes many forms ” is not the definition of polytheism , nor is it the definition of pantheism.

    • KesaAnna July 23, 2017 at 8:07 pm #

well ……..pantheism is God is literally everything.

god is a chair, god is a table, God is the air you breath , God is Jack the ripper.
so, in that sense, yes, if chairs and tables and Jack the Ripper are , ” many forms ” then it would fit pantheism.

But then it wouldn’t fit Christianity at all.

    A PERSON WHO DISLIKES THE UNITED STATES EXPLAINS WHY STIGMATIZING THE CONFEDERACY IS STUPID ;

    Let’s look at Mount Rushmore.

The first guy up there, George Washington, was a slave owner . Granted, he did free his slaves — after he died.
    — which meant many of those slaves were themselves past 50 or 60 years old when they got their reward for sucking his kneecaps their whole lives. Sound like a good deal ?
Need I go into how the British Empire hardly oppressed him, that on the contrary , the British Empire made the nobody he was into a somebody.

The second guy up there , Thomas Jefferson, was also a slave owner. A few years back DNA testing of descendants proved that his slave mistresses were, indeed , his mistresses.
    ” Mistresses ” ?
How does consent work exactly in the master ~ slave dynamic?

He was a rapist, or he was the equivalent of a child molester. Take your pick.

Theodore Roosevelt ; unabashed, unapologetic imperialist. Do try to trot out a good reason for the Spanish American War.

Finally Abraham Lincoln . A war criminal , unless “war crimes ” mean nothing more than victors justice applied to the vanquished.
    — Or never mind the vanquished and their sympathizers.
What about all those people on his own fucking side that he fucked over who were not enemy sympathizers but only his political critics?

Never mind that stigmatizing the Confederacy is bloody fucking stupid.

I despise your country, and what absolutely floors me is that you think people who would do this love your country and are your friends ?
