Can’t Anyone Fix This?

T he legacy mainstream media has a collective brain like dog’s — it exists in an eternal present, so that whatever’s happening right now is all there is. Thus, Hillary’s performance in the first Democratic debate, being as bad but not worse than her competitors’, means she has a lock on the nomination for president. The better part of a year lies between now and the convention, and time would be on the side of whatever force or figure rises to oppose the woman whose “turn” in power rides a myth of inevitability.

What perhaps ought to be more alarming is the way that the two major parties are lining up to be a men’s party and a woman’s party, a perfect acting-out of psychological archetypes in a society churning out millions of lost souls year-by-year. The American people apparently want a Daddy to fix all the broken systems and they want a Mommy to reassure them that everything will be all right. Hillary, of course, wants to be both, but her problem is that a lot of voters won’t accept her as either.

Her record doesn’t suggest she’s much good at fixing anything. That’s why the Benghazi affair is such a good stick to beat on her with. That was a moment when America needed a Daddy with a toilet plunger or a screw gun and all they got were cables from the home office saying everything was going to be all right. Mommy couldn’t save the Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans slaughtered there. The big pretense, of course, is the idea that congress holds hearings “so something like this will never happen again.”

It’s an interesting neurosis we’ve developed since the heyday of the assassinations in the late 1960s, this continuing promise to abolish the unforeseeable. Of course new atrocities happen all the time despite these ritual committee inquiries — these days, the mass murder of strangers is more in fashion than targeted political slayings — and there’s always another incident, and it ought to be obvious by now that we’re not so good at making sure that bad things don’t happen.

But that’s the Republican-controlled Benghazi Committee’s mission: to demonstrate that Mommy can’t fix stuff. It will be easily left to Hillary herself to prove that she’s not much good in the Mommy role either — reassuring the multitudes that everything’s going to be all right. Instead, Hillary falls back on an obsessive-compulsive pander tic, kind of an incessant hash-tag jabber of promises to the familiar cast of supplicants. Give it twelve months and see how sick of it the voters will get.

To see how much the Democrats have become the woman’s party, just consider the men candidates up on the debate stage: all pitiful archetypes. Bernie Sanders plays the meshugganah grandpa role reserved, on the screen, for Larry David or Alan Arkin. He’s always worked up about something that nobody else can really get worked up about, always raising his voice and stabbing his finger in the air in imitation of Yahweh. There’s Jim Webb, a bobblehead rattling off long legalistic disquisitions that never get to whether he can fix something or not. There’s Martin O’Malley, known primarily for his “six-pack” and “guns,” but with the persona of a frightened seven-year-old who doesn’t want to rile the teacher. And Lincoln Chaffee, a dizzy neighbor like Kramer in Seinfeld, butting in with cockamamie schemes that demonstrate he can’t fix anything.

Is it not amazing that the Democratic Party could not grudge up one figure really worth taking seriously? To me, this is truly symptomatic of how bereft of significance the party is? I’m not so sure the party will survive this election cycle. But the disorder across the gradient is equally impressive. The large Republican field of professional politician candidates is held in such bad odor as far as being able to fix anything, that the sinister clown Trump is able to put over his idiotic act of being a Daddy who can fix everything and anything, just by blustering. I suspect he’ll wear out his welcome — but if he doesn’t the Grand Old Party is showing serious signs of a serious crack-up.

Whoever get elected inn 2016 is going to face a crisis every bit as terrible as the crisis of 1860, only this time when the country blows it could come from a dozen different directions and be a lot harder to fix than the secession of Dixieland.

Well, at least SOMEBODY’s worked up about something!

The Fed has been engaged in so much naked short-selling of gold and silver to prop up the Dollar of lte that gold and silver trading has been suspended at more and more exchanges.

Somebody (not quite sure who) is short-selling petroleum futures while others (the Saudis?) have ramped up production to flood the market to lower prices.

Some suspect that short-selling of petroleum futures is being done to hurt the Russian economy. Clearly the Russian economy isn’t doing well but not so much as to deter Putin in his bid to reverse the Neocon promulgated chaos in the Middle East.

Others suspect that the Saudis are behind this in a bid to derail the shale oil and with it the myth of US energy independence. Whoever’s behind this, it’s clearly working!

true. but I’m still pullin for Bernie. Our own Don Quixote.

sometimes you gotta throw all the cards in the air, lance the boil.

          • miasmo October 21, 2015 at 12:14 am #

But the calamity will not be his fault. I agree with Nicole Foss that whoever wins in 2016 will be the next Herbert Hoover. They will be blamed for the biggest collapse in American history just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Sanders is the only one I can see voting for. Even though he is parroting the insane establishment line on foreign policy and military issues, he is the only candidate calling out the emperor’s nudity on unsustainable economic inequality. I completely disagree with JHK on his view that Sanders is “always worked up about something that nobody else can really get worked up about.” Anyone with two brain cells to rub together should be concerned with the corruption of politics by big money and Wall Street’s endless scams and undo influence over Congress and the White House. From reading JHK’s other writing, I am befuddled by his dismissal of Bernie’s appeal as “something that nobody else can really get worked up about.” Sanders has received more individual contributions than any candidate in history, so clearly Mr. Kunstler’s assessment is ludicrous on its face.

I find his dismissal of the rest of the field also off the mark, although I also dismiss them for different reasons.

But his analysis of Hillary’s attempt to position herself as both mommy and daddy and why that might fail…, well, that’s the type of insight that keeps me addicted to this website. Also, his description of Trump and his ludicrous “daddy” appeal is classic Kunstler gold.

So to sum up my review (as if anyone cares): Not his best work, yet still some good stuff there.

Also, although I don’t think Rand Paul ever had a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the GOP nomination, I do believe I might vote for Rand Paul if he were running against Hillary. I won’t vote for Hillary regardless. I’ll write in Jill Stein.

          Wolf, not quite correct.

He’s saying less free shit to the military-industrial-complex, oil companies, big banks, and billionaires.

More free shit to University students, the poor and disabled, retirees, and the middle class who actually pays the countries taxes.

          • Majella October 19, 2015 at 5:11 pm #

Well said, No1 Kiwi. Bernie is the only candidate in either field who has a handle on what’s really going on and has a strategy to make real change. In fact, he’s really only promulgating the policies of the ’50s & ’60s, the decades when the USA was truly forged ahead. they were socialist policies in all but name. Now, the greatest component of ‘welfare’ is ;’corporate’, as you point out.

Bernie may not have a snowball’s chance in the end, but you’d hope that Hilary will at least be forced to take on the most resonant of his views.

(oh, and good luck in the World Cup – great game last Saturday!)

        • zaphod42 October 19, 2015 at 3:09 pm #

He doesn’t claim it’s free. Except that he does not tell the truth about how much it would cost, and that everyone has to pay!

The fact is that, in a democracy like ours, we can do and have almost anything we want, so long as we can pay for it. The problem is a combination of people who want what they want, and do not want to pay. Republicans want wars, salvation for banks, farm subsidies for big ag, free shit for rich dudes and dudesses and the like. Poor people want free shit for themselves, and they don’t pay for anything ’cause they ain’t workin’ nowadays. Though they would be okay with paying taxes if they had jobs, mostly.

What we need is a balanced budget amendment that prohibits national debt (and pays of existing debt), and makes every spending bill a taxing bill. Figure what it costs to live (minimum for rent, food, clothing, transportation to work, medical, etc.), and set that as base with no tax; next brackets computed based on what total reported income (include all capital gains, etc., no fudging) and divide into 3 brackets. First bracket same amount as poverty is level one tax; second bracket at 2 x sum of zero plus first bracket; third bracket for all income above that. Apply figures of national income vs. expense, and the rates are mathematical.

Oh, and at the same time 1) undo Citizens United; 2) give the President line item veto power; or 2) forbid non-related riders on legislative measures; and 3) national, rational usury laws!

But that would be rational. So, it is a dream.

          And so to sleep.

JHK said: Can’t Anyone Fix This?

I’m afraid not, Jim. It’s The Shape Of Things.

      • Ghung October 19, 2015 at 10:47 am #

Since most things that ail industrial-age-in-overshoot societies CAN’T BE FIXED, and American’s will never elect a President who points this out, it all seems pretty pointless. Whoever gets up there and says they’ll do their best to not make things worse will have a chance of getting my vote. The rest are just play-acting.

        • Pogo October 19, 2015 at 11:31 am #

Right on, Ghung. We are now in the Era of Intractability, beyond the solutions of yesteryear.

          “The rest are just play-acting.”

That is the best explanation of Trump I have seen yet!

        • goat1001 October 20, 2015 at 3:22 pm #

We are in the midst of a great sea change. There is always change. The industrialized world is entering a period of entropy and passing out of a very short period of unprecedented fossil fuel based growth and technological marvel. This period like all periods will be a part of history and it will be remembered long as a truly unique and memorable period of greatness when people drove far, fast and flew high with instant communications at their fingertips. There will be many periods to be had with their ups and downs and natural and political variances. The world is certainly not ending but changing. Changing into a much larger, less populated world with everything localized. And possibly, even civilized.

          • SpeedyBB October 20, 2015 at 4:28 pm #

Eloquent, magnificent. (Not much fun-in-the-sun however).

    • Layne October 21, 2015 at 4:04 pm #

Trump says the professional politicians are corrupt, stupid and incompetent. Everyone knows this, so this makes him a sinister clown?

Trump wants to defend America against those that have been waging aggressive trade wars against the US since 2001. This makes him a sinister clown?

Trump says that the Bush invasion of Iraq was a disaster that destabilized the Middle East. This makes him a sinister clown?

Trump unveiled a tax plan that is orders of magnitude more beneficial to the middle class than what we now have, while fairly taxing hedge funds and other special interests that now get off free, and stops the double taxation of offshore corporate profits that will bring trillions of investment capital back. This makes him a sinister clown?

Trump want to stop the kind of illegal immigration that plagues the US with enormous waves of crime, drugs and welfare dependency, while expediting entry to law-abiding people who can contribute positively. This makes him a sinister clown?

Perhaps Kunstler is pissed off because Trump does not advocate return to a primitive, medieval society that lacks electricity, antibiotics or modern conveniences, like what he champions in his made by hand fantasies. (actually I enjoy his books and writing, but get real–never gonna happen)

  2. Fan of Entropy October 19, 2015 at 9:46 am #

    Great post again, Jim.

From the outside (Canada), it seems like pieces of the GOP are already shaking loose again, held in place for the last five or six years by the stalwart mainstream Republicans with something to gain from keeping things together. I imagine the breakup (or breakdown) of the Democratic Party being much more amorphous, and sudden, if that makes sense. If the Democratic support scatters like dandelion seeds, there doesn’t seem to be the angry determination to keep things cobbled together as has been done in the GOP.

That said, and as you have mentioned repeatedly, the children have been at the helm of the GOP for long enough now that they’ve managed to guide the ship on to the rocks. It turns out that they could care less that it cracks up, because it turns out that they were anti-boat all along.

Off to vote, being as it’s election day here in Canada. We have our own monsters to slay….

    • pequiste October 20, 2015 at 12:22 am #

Looks like you folks in Canada also have both the government and the state as family businesses:

The Queen (yes that one, Queen Elizabeth II of Britain) is the head of state of Canada. Just to see I’m not lying check the portrait on the money – even a Looney will do (one has just got to love that moniker for the Canadian dollar.)

And as a result of your election today another Trudeau, son of Pierre Eliott Trudeau, takes the mantle of Prime Minister and head of the government.

Yep, a fucking family business this politics; and Lamar was released from hospital.

  3. newworld October 19, 2015 at 9:49 am #

Very well said, I would add in another character called “Radical Child” the one who throws temper tantrums and expects magic to fix all problems. Yaay Obama for releasing them upon the body politic.

Will that Chafee character finally put to rest that old trope of “Evil WASP oppressing the oppressed out of sheer genius and evilness” that is used to scare the mentally and emotionally unstable D party base? It should and I speak as an uber WASP pre-Rev war snob.

  4. seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 9:57 am #

Somehow it keeps chugging along. Bottom line is America just has too much dead wood. Realtors, accountants, lawyers, salesmen, brokers don’t create value. They leach off of those that do. Until that mindset is changed America is doomed. America had its heyday 1950’s and now we’re coasting into mediocrity. We coast until it stops. Then a dictator comes along and kills everybody and we start anew. No one stays on top forever. We’re not hungry anymore. Plus we’re sloppy and pretty stupid too. We’re drugged out of our minds. When I listen to the ads on TV today I know I’m in Bizarro World. Boner medicine. Lawsuit invites. Get rich quick schemes. We’re becoming Bizarro World, not 3rd world.

    • Pogo October 19, 2015 at 11:44 am #

seawolf77, you gotta’ stop watching them ads on TV. And one large chunk of deadwood you left out are the legions of “coders” ginning up new killer video games and apps, not to mention mindlessly redesigning perfectly good web sites.

Rather than “We coast until it stops”, I think we’ll soon hit a gargantuan pothole. Mediocrity will indeed end, not with a whimper but with a bang.

    • Beryl of Oyl October 19, 2015 at 11:55 am #

That is a good point, and one that it is very hard to make people realize. I would add to your list probably the majority of the “helping” agencies, what do they call them now NGOs or not-for-profits? If we started any real reform or attempted to actually do something about ‘inequality’, the dead wood would be competing with ordinary Americans who still know how to do something useful, for the tiny supply of real jobs left over.
Look at a place like Schenectady, they have way more “helpers” than helpees, and no one asks for any results.
Health “care”, don’t even get me started. Hundreds of dollars every month, per American, and it’s all geared around making sure nobody comes into contact with an actual doctor if it can be helped. I’ve noticed that those minute clinic type places, at least in our area, are located where no low-income person is likely to present herself.
Why are expensive colleges tax-exempt anyway? I know, some of them pay a PILOT, but they don’t have to pay anything and most don’t. Another area where nobody has to show any results.

    • SpeedyBB October 20, 2015 at 4:33 pm #

I can assure you that from 11 time zones away (Indonesia) it looks more and more peculiar. Unpredictable, resentful, alarming. American media keep clucking happily along on a parallel universe, compounding the confounding.

  5. JourneyOfJoenes October 19, 2015 at 10:00 am #

While I rather like the notion of a gender-based political system, at least as a simplified model, personally I think that the new fault lines are falling a different way.

For years, it’s been pretty obvious that there’s a build-up in pressure between those who feel strongly in favor of traditional Western culture (and there’s a strong racial component here) and those who don’t. I’m not sure what drives the second group, but they certainly have a shared religion.

The truth is, given a functional and homogeneous group of people, public policy almost doesn’t matter. If you swept up a bunch of Swiss and stuck them in Arizona or Nigeria, the trash would get picked up, jobs would come into being, crime would be low. Whether they had a King or Congress, gun control or Federal Reserve, single payer health care, etc. wouldn’t really matter on a practical level.

Given the current huge wealth gradient, portability of people, and ruling and chattering classes made up of the second group, the upcoming drama will come from movement of people, not a nefarious plot against gold or fights over Obamacare.

Your post made me think of a program I saw on PBS, about a neighborhood of Southeast Asians in New Orleand after Katrina, and how they monitored conditions post-storm themselves, and thus were saved from the rising water.
Some local board or other tried to establish a dump for toxic flood debris in their midst afterward.

    • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 2:35 pm #

Exactly – blood will tell. As Dr Duke put it: move the Icelanders to Haiti and they would turn it into a paradise in a generation. Move the Haitians to Iceland and they would all be dead in a generation. You almost had it, but you let the Blacks out because you were following what the kindergarten adage: if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. Such a mind set will get us killed at this point.

      • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 3:54 pm #

Haiti was a paradise before Columbus. If memory serves he turned the indigenous population into slaves and made it into hell on earth. So much for David Duke math.

        • JourneyOfJoenes October 19, 2015 at 4:45 pm #

Given the lack of historical record, defining a pre-Columbian Haiti might be a bit speculative. If you feel strongly that it was looked like a giant tiki bar with unicorns, then I say go with the feeling.

Mostly likely, aside from a New World predilection for cannibalism, your best bet might to view old school Haiti as a Caribbean New Guinea. Paradise with a Lord of the Flies twist.

          • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 8:47 pm #

Predilection for cannibalism. Did that come from your sketchy historical record? Like Barbara Bush said in the Astrodome after Hurricane Katrina, “These living conditions are at least better than what they had.” Slavers never change.

          • JourneyOfJoenes October 20, 2015 at 10:22 am #

Cannibalism in the New World? There’s actually quite a lot of it to be found in gravesites, plus there are plenty of instances in the very earliest records from Spanish explorers.

That’s aside from the truly heinous cultures in Mesoamerica. If your people have behaviors that can shock even a 16th century Spaniard, you’ve really got something there.

To be fair, my guess is that a taste for long pig won’t be just a matter of a civilization’s level, but also of the availability of domestic meat production. There simply wasn’t much of it in the Western hemisphere.

          • seawolf77 October 20, 2015 at 2:51 pm #

Truly heinous cultures???They were genocided and enslaved by Europeans. Cannibalism is a common way to demonize an opponent. It was directed at early Christians as well. I take it with a shaker of salt.

  6. pequiste October 19, 2015 at 10:03 am #

The “uniquely American” selection of candidate selection process, “primary season” and “run-up to the election ( all two years of it)” is a direct function of politics – as it is – being a “family business.”

Look at Donald Trump suggesting outright that 9-11 happened on the watch of “W” Bush and therefore is his responsibility because he was the Commander-In-Chief. Then John Ellis Bush responds with the deflecting claim that he is proud of his brother, the 43rd president, because he kept us “safe.”

Can we understand that since Vietnam the USA spent tens of TRILLIONS of dollars on defense spending including air defense, intel and the like, and four passenger jets get hijacked at the same time by a motley crew of Saudi jihadis leading to the largest casualty attack on America…..ever.

At no time does anyone mention the bald fact that John Ellis Bush’s father, H.G.W. Bush, 41st president of the U.S.of A., got America so deeply involved in Iraq that we have been there militarily for 25 God-damned years.

And nothing is going to change the dynamic simply because whether it be Hillary or John Ellis both would do the same because it’s her or his turn and the “Family” wants something done.

Can we please move on to more important issues like the reuniting of Lamar (coke snorting – whore master – jungleball playa) and Khloe K., since it appears he is going to survive his little romp in Nevada.

    • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 10:07 am #

I think Trump is accurate in his attack. It happened on W’s watch. Period. By definition he did not keep us safe.

      • Beryl of Oyl October 19, 2015 at 12:03 pm #

I wanted to punch Jeb for that “kept us safe” remark. That’s his brother’s horrible legacy, anything is permissible in the interest of “safety”, all rights and freedom can be suspended, and the people WANT it.
Notice nobody is talking about the TSA, NSA, any of that stuff any more.

Beryl, every time I go to the airport, my long suffering wife has to put up with my expletives about the ridiculous TSA.

I swear, every time there is some added procedure. More X-Ray machines. More TSA agents. More TSA managers. More TSA mini-offices filled with paper pushers. Longer and longer lines.

And its all bullshit! A huge boondoggle to make the American sheeple feel safe. If they were to shitcan 90% of this crap tomorrow, there would not be a hijacking/terrorist incident. 9/11 was a statistical anomaly. Will never happen again.

Does anybody know how much we spend on this boondoggle?

          • Petro October 19, 2015 at 4:57 pm #

Totally agree, Kiwi. Huge waste of time and money, and we all look like fools. It’s just to make the public think “something is being done” to protect us. (My wife has to listen to the same gripes from me at the airport). Secure the cockpit, maybe arm the flight crew with something, maybe fly air marshals randomly—the rest is BS.

        • pequiste October 20, 2015 at 8:10 am #

Yes, I felt the same listening to that snippet of the interview: nauseated. John Ellis Bush would perhaps be better served by a bitch slap.

The infrastructure of The State Panopticon Apparatus is most worrisome, and I’m afraid even the old computer I’m using to write this with is an extension of it and can (and will) be used against me; and you; and Janos; and the other members of the CFN; my neighbors;…… oh yeah and JHK too.

Just like our jeanyuss strategies in Afghanistan and Rump-Iraq:

        Thanks “W”! Thanks Barry!

    • Pogo October 19, 2015 at 10:38 am #

Good observations, perquiste, but I think G.H.W. Bush (aka Bush I) deepened our complex relations with Saudi Arabia far more than with Iraq. Read “House of Bush, House of Saud”.

The relationship with KSA was so close that Prince Bandar bin Sultan, ambassador to US for several decades, was affectionately called Bandar Bush. Could this have colored G.W. Bush’s reaction to security briefings that warned loudly that Al Queda was determined to attack? And why are the security briefings prior to August 6, 2001 still classified? Yes, Mr. Trump is correct. No, JEB, your brother made a huge stinking pile of deep do-do that we are still stuck in.

Maybe if “W” had been doing the job he was paid to do (rather than on vacation the entire month of August) and had put the NSA, CIA and FBI on high alert, the 9/11 event may have been avoided.

      • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 11:11 am #

I’ve got a book “Sleeping with the Devil: How Washington sold our soul for Saudi Crude.” It is the only book I own, and I own a lot, that is redacted.

        • Pogo October 19, 2015 at 12:03 pm #

Yes, seawolf, “Sleeping With the Devil” is a compelling book and Robert Baer (ex-CIA) tells it like it is (even though lots of stuff he wasn’t allowed to tell is redacted).

I would also recommend Gerald Posner’s “Secrets of the Kingdom”. He details how going back to 1932 the House of Saud made a pack with the Wahhabi Islamic sect which ultimately led to the Saudis funding the spread of radical Islam around the world.

High on my “worry list” is what KSA will do when the two Shite nations on east and west (Syria and Iran) decide to attack. It is well known that KSA has a “deadman switch” that will blow all the oil wells, refineries, terminals, etc. to…well…kingdom come.

Pogo, glad to see someone else remembers that August. Also recall Donald Rumsfeld was running around the country all that summer giving speeches advocating building “star wars” defense system….which tells me just how clueless that gang was.

        • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 11:42 am #

Exactly. Build a trillion dollar system to protect us from Soviet missiles and get hit by Boeing jets. These guys are the Keystone cops.

          • AKlein October 19, 2015 at 12:17 pm #

Permit me to enhance your verbiage just a tad; “…hit by our own Boeing jets…”.

          • bobinboiseid October 19, 2015 at 8:18 pm #

Hit by our own Boeing jets remote controlled by agents of our own government who then used demolition charges to knock the buildings to the ground in their own footprint, which only a controlled demolition can do.

  7. K-Dog October 19, 2015 at 10:03 am #

A collective brain like dog’s — it exists in an eternal present.

Endless whining about the inadequacy of the democratic party. This eternal present I’ve no desire to be a part of. The two political parties of record have nothing to offer man, beast nor dog. It is time to look elsewhere for answers. The democratic party has none. All the kings horses and all the kings men can’t put the egg of democracy back into the democratic party. The party has been fully co-opted by the corporate system and this is now one party where it will be of no ones benefit to be the last to leave.

This dog dreams of a future better than the present but my dream is not eternal. Loud noises wake me up and snap be back to reality.

    • K-Dog October 19, 2015 at 10:12 am #

      Oops, should be:

snap me back to reality and it should be Democtatic party though they no longer deserve a capital letter. Especially since they have been in charge of a bizarre assassination machine that uses baseball cards to make decisions and kills more innocents than targets.

This story would have been a better subject for this Monday but discussion of drones is not done here. Something to do with national security I think.

  8. Rodster October 19, 2015 at 10:19 am #

The two party system has been transformed into Diet Coke vs Diet Pepsi and offering up losers I wouldn’t hire to run a corner 7-11 store.

The political process is even worse as it’s become American Idol.

If you want to make a statement, then DON’T VOTE. Voting only encourages the Bastards. But most people will vote anyway, thinking their vote counts…….yeah sure !

    • K-Dog October 19, 2015 at 10:25 am #

Good analogy but both parties have been failing the taste test for years and Hillary might actually be OK as a 7-11 clerk so long as there are no gas pumps in front of the store. The pumps could blow up on her watch.

      • Beryl of Oyl October 19, 2015 at 12:08 pm #

She would go hide somewhere while a clerk from another store entirely went around explaining that the pumps blew up because of a video somebody made on a laptop, or something, and no one would ever ask about why that was said again, even after it was proved to of course be a ridiculous lie.

    • davidreese2 October 19, 2015 at 11:29 am #

There is a better way to make a statement than not voting. It is to vote for a 3rd Party. If a 3rd party gets a significant vote, it will scare the bejesus out of the Big Two. If we have any chance at all in the future, it will have to come from a 3rd party. Or multiple 3rd parties.

      • Rodster October 19, 2015 at 12:02 pm #

Voting for a 3rd party won’t work because the political system has failed. The two party system along with the MSM will make sure a 3rd party will never be more than an insignificant player.

The two party political system has a lot in common with Vince McMahon’s WWE/WWF. The winner has already been declared before the voting even starts. It’s all a sideshow in presenting the illusion that you the populace will make a difference. We are LONG past that time.

We are living in The Truman Show.

        • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 2:40 pm #

I went ONCE to a Wrestling “event” in order to see with my own eyes. The denizens of this realm were wearing t shirts saying “Believe or Leave”. Is this not the deal offered to us by the mainstream parties?

      • russ October 19, 2015 at 12:05 pm #

Agreed. The argument against voting for third party candidates is that they can’t “win”, therefore your vote is wasted. But what exactly do we win when a D or R wedded to the current system of endless corporate corruption and financial chicanery gets elected?

Nothing as far as I can see.

Hence, let’s start voting for candidates outside the useless D & R system.

      • kansas ham on wry October 19, 2015 at 12:16 pm #

Agreed. I was seduced by Hope and Change in 2008. I wasn’t quite so gullible in 2012. Don’t vote and the Lords of the Universe dismiss you as part of the apathetic rabble. If enough of us reject the status quo, we remove the legitimacy they assume they have.

Hillary isn’t going to get my nod just because she’s the lesser of two evils. She’s thumping the progressive drum now because Bernie has captured the momentum, but there’s been no better shill for the military-industrial complex and the TBTF banks than Clinton Inc. And all the coyness about the execrable Trans Pacific Partnership flies in the face of her stalwart support before people started actually learning what it involved. It’s a classic bait-and-switch and the only thing more outrageous than her doing it is the numbers that will fall for it yet again. It’s like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown…………..

People call voting for a 3rd party a wasted vote? I call voting for the same old tired schtick a failure of imagination.

        • abbybwood October 19, 2015 at 1:17 pm #

Because both major parties have become total corporate whores I refuse to vote for anyone in them.

But rather than just stay home I think the better move would be to get an absentee ballot (or a paper ballot from the precinct) and to vote for all the other issues that are important then leave the president vote blank and write on the paper ballot regarding the presidential vote: NO CONFIDENCE.

This way, if enough Americans did this, the “under vote” for president could be reflected statistically as if “None of the Above” had been on the ballot.

It would be a protest vote stating that we are refusing to “Go along to get along” with their war crimes, illegal surveillance, environmental pollution via fracking, coddling the too big to fail banking industry, prosecuting whistle blowers and on and on and on.

If I had $100k sitting around I’d place some ads in the NYT etc. and build a website to launch a “NO CONFIDENCE” campaign for 2016.

“Something” needs to be done to shake things up!

        • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 2:42 pm #

Why did Sanders pander to her so blatantly about the emails? It seems to me that he’s putting the Party before his own victory – campaigning for vice president as SNL put it. He doesn’t really seem to be quite the pure hearted guy that he pretends to be.

        • ozone October 19, 2015 at 10:39 pm #

          kansas-an,
As I’ve hollered here before, the most significant statistic from a presidential election would be the number of eligible voters who *did not vote*! Sure would like to see that tiny factoid on one of the ‘bigs’. I smell No Confidence in the air, and it smells of SE Asian garbage fires. Take care of your neighbors and maybe they’ll take care of you; ain’t much else these days besides hatred and acquisitive BS. (….and please, no praying; it diverts brain power from urgent matters at hand.)

As i’ve been saying, the system is rigged. The MSM and the two party system would never allow a 3rd party candidate to rise to any prominence. Just make the sheeple believe their vote matters.

Yep, if voting worked they’d make it illegal. Voting gives the criminals legitimacy.

  9. malthuss October 19, 2015 at 10:20 am #

Is it not amazing that the Democratic Party could not grudge up one figure really worth taking seriously?

Not from my point of view.
The Democrats are the party of legal infanticide [see both Obamas and Clintons record on this] and the party of illegals.

    • zaphod42 October 19, 2015 at 10:33 am #

Abortion is a distraction. Republicans don’t give a good healthy crap whether any abortion bill passes, so long as it is flawed sufficiently that the courts are required to strike it down. If they really meant what they said, they would give us a bill that protects the mother’s life, recognizes when life begins as something that is scientifically definable (absolutely against Republican ideology) like when brain activity begins, and get on with life. But since they need the abortion issue, they pass laws that do not cover either important legal point and then blame the courts. It is their fault. And abortion is not something that is going to destroy the nation. Nor is gun control, or gay marriage.

And, the democrats are as bad. Both parties need distractions or someone – more like everyone – would kick their sorry asses out of office and put in an adult.

      • Beryl of Oyl October 19, 2015 at 12:11 pm #

I think abortion is just what the Republicans use around election time to give people an illusion that there is a difference between the two parties.

        • lingling October 19, 2015 at 12:54 pm #

“I think abortion is just what the Republicans use around election time to give people an illusion that there is a difference between the two parties.”

Abortion has been settled by the courts. Period. It is dredged up by Demotwats, every single election to put fear in the hearts of their baby-killing base that their right to slaughter may be impinged by the hateful Republicans. What a joke.

          • zaphod42 October 19, 2015 at 3:35 pm #

Brought up by both sides, pandering to their base and distracting from important issues. Neither party really cares a hoot about abortion, per se. The framing shows that… I mean, pro life? Who isn’t pro LIFE? and pro choice… same question. It is a false dichotomy, and obviously contrived as a side show the keep our eyes off the ball!!

        • routersurfer October 20, 2015 at 2:59 pm #

You are correct. Beryl of Oyl nailed it. Just word games test marketed to get the gross roots out to vote.

      • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 2:44 pm #

Oh really? Try and ban guns and see what happens.

        • zaphod42 October 19, 2015 at 3:39 pm #

That is not the point. I made my living selling guns for years, while I went to school. I own guns. I support, absolutely, the 2nd amendment, and no one I know wants to “ban” guns.

However, there is an element of responsibility in gun ownership. Before I could shoot a gun, my Dad made me attend an NRA training class. It was held downtown in a building, hosted by the local gun club. Once certified, Dad was happy to take me to the range and teach me to shoot. Was my
Dad banning guns? I think not. And yet, he “restricted” my right to bear arms.

If the NRA went back to their training and support role for enthusiasts like me, I would rejoin them. Right now they are a lobby group for the industry, not for owners.

          • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 7:31 pm #

The Left does. They’ve said it many times. That’s what dictators do. What they’ve accomplished in New York City is their goal for all of America. It’s mind boggling you don’t get this.

        • routersurfer October 20, 2015 at 3:07 pm #

No gun bans. Just home and biz invasions by homeland insecurity. They will drop in to check for weapons of mass illusion and walk out with your guns. At about 3-4 in the am. Those youngsters in black move very fast and do not question orders. Maybe they will start with all people on drugs for mood disorders or long term pain. Public ban??? Never. Until they have most of the arms under lock and key. The last grasp before the end of Fed Powers.

Ronald Reagan effectively and finally divided the nation by making abortion a top priority in his presidential campaign. his campaign manager, lee Atwater, only cared about getting Reagan elected, as is the case in all u.s. elections. I don’t believe either of them, or anyone else in the republican hierarchy, cared at all about abortion one way or the other. we have suffered with this intractable division, and the related increase in population, for 35 years. thanks for your post.

At this particular point in time, the only person Jeb! could defeat in a general election is Hillary f-ing Clinton. And, at the same time, the only person that Hillary could possibly defeat in a general election is Jeb! f-ing Bush.

Which is why the Koch suckers are working so hard to get both of them nominated. It does not matter one whit which clan winds up in the White House – they are what you call fungible.

Couldn’t disagree w you more on Bernie Sanders, Jim.

People can and are getting worked up about what he’s saying,
maybe because he’s hitting on the most critical issues facing us
(climate change, concentration of wealth, $$ in politics, loss of the middle class).

What all the pundits, strategists, and political experts seem to be overlooking is the declining influence of TV and increasing influence of the internet and social media. Especially among 18-30 yr olds, who can determine the election if they turn out in force. Bernie is resonating w them and doesn’t need to match Hillary’ money since social media is all but free (at least far cheaper than TV advertising).

    • zaphod42 October 19, 2015 at 10:45 am #

I’ve been wondering whether those in charge of the D party are trying to get a brokered convention. It looks like the Rs are for certain. The Repugilcans nominate first, and with a brokered convention they can pick Jeb! if Hillary is already guaranteed the D nomination.

If the D’s have a brokered convention, and the R’s do NOT nominate Jeb! (most likely if Hillary doesn’t have a lock), then the D’s can still switch to someone else. Hillary cannot win, and I think the money people know it.

My prediction, as if it mattered, is that this will come to pass… There will be no clear winner in either party, Jeb! won’t be nominated, Hillary won’t be nominated. No prediction as to alternative!

Heads we don’t win, tails we lose. Then four years of chaos. If there is a national political party remaining at the end of that time, it will be surprising.

    • Newton Finn October 19, 2015 at 11:47 am #

I’ll second that sentiment. He’s talking about how well over 90% of the American population has been economically and socially devastated by the policies of the last forty years. He’s saying that he will spearhead a political movement to change those policies and improve the lives of average Americans. He’s resonating at an almost unbelievable pace, and who knows what the future holds in these uncertain, tumultuous times?

Why would any of us write him off so soon, so flippantly?

      • abbybwood October 19, 2015 at 1:50 pm #

I’m writing Sanders off because he has already assured the DNC that when Hillary wins the nomination he will hand over his “base” to her for the general. Anyone who publicly supports Hillary Clinton for anything but a trip to the Hague does not deserve one single vote.

Hillary Clinton is a Neocon war hawk who John McCain and Lindsey Graham just LOVE!!!

She bought the WMD bullshit from the Bush administration and voted to “Shock and Awe” the people of Iraq. Madeleine “Mad Dog” Albright, the former secretary of state who stated that 500,000 Iraqi’s dying due to U.S. sanctions was “worth it” is one of Hillary’s key advisers.

Hillary used all her power to secure the coup in Honduras in 2009. She and Victoria Nuland orchestrated the coup in the Ukraine as has been discussed here on these threads in the past. “Yats is the guy”.

Then Hillary got her over-throw of Qaddafi in Libya. “We came, we saw, he died. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!!” Now Libya is a failed state with ISIS and Al Queda romping through the streets creating havoc.

And the “color revolution” against Assad was another Hillary show. She is now calling for a “no fly zone” in Syria which would entail the United States and its “partners” taking out the Syrian air force (and presumably Russian military jets as well?).

Of course that would be an international war crime but Hillary and her good friends John McCain and Lindsey Graham don’t care snot about war crimes.

Hillary refers to Putin as “Hitler” and talks about a no fly zone in Syria. It seems she is hell-bent on starting WW III.

If the national security of the United States is supposed to be one of the top priorities of a Commander in Chief then I fail to see how electing someone who is itching to confront Putin militarily is in the best interests of the American people and the “homeland”.

Not to mention that Hillary Clinton has no right to take the oath of office to swear to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic” when she is prattling on about “gun buy backs” and various gun restrictions, she is already waffling on the TPP. She came out against it about a week ago and within a few days she said, “She’ll have to look at it closely to make a final decision.” Ha! What a shock!

She lied through her teeth about Edward Snowden declaring that he should have gone through his chains of command and he would have had whistle blower protections. She knows better. He was an independent contractor and therefore had NO whistle blower protections. She would like to see him come back here and appear before a kangaroo CIA court in McLean that would lock him up forever and torture him just like they did Chelsea Manning. (Blaring lights on 24/7, waking her up every five minutes to see if she is “okay”. This is torture. Period.)

Hillary Clinton disgusts me and every single bonehead I hear saying she should be president because we need a WOMAN! in the White House disgusts me because they are too freakin’ lazy to do some relatively simple research into seeing what she has actually DONE and supported (Monsanto!!!/Big pharma!!) over her career.

Covering up for all of Bill Clinton’s sexual assaults against about as long a list of women as Cosby has shows her contempt for women’s rights.

I hope when she testifies this Thursday in Congress that they will bring her down big time. Not sure what they have on her, but it will be a pleasure to watch her squirm.

        C-SPAN Thursday. Must. See. Teevee.

        • chipshot October 19, 2015 at 2:16 pm #

You’re going to write off the closest thing we have to an anti-Hillary just because he said he’d support her if nominated??

I don’t like that he said that, and I don’t agree w a national minimum wage of $15, but overall he is by far the best choice available (ideally Jill Stein is, but Bernie can actually win).

It’s as though people look for reasons to not vote for good candidates and then vote for someone else, even if that alternative
          has far more negatives.

Someone-anyone-please make a rational, coherent argument as how Bernie Sanders is NOT the best candidate out there…

          • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 2:52 pm #

It means he’s not a radical anymore. He accepts the Democrat appropriation of Socialism – pretending that the Socialists have taken it over without losing their idealism. It means nothing would change if he got in – need I remind you that he’s a mainstream Zionist? You know what that means in terms of foreign policy, how about domestic? Think he’ll do anything against his brothers in Banking and Media?

Did you not see how he pandered to her on the emails? Does he even want to win? Seems to me like the fix is in and he’s part of it. Only Joe Biden can save you – and you’ve really fallen low to have a savior like that.

Bernie cannot deliver his base. Too many of them dislike Hillary, and would never vote for her. For myself, I can say that I would vote for none of the above if her name appears on the ballot and there is no third party listed.

    • Beryl of Oyl October 19, 2015 at 12:20 pm #

I’m hearing some younger Americans expressing an interest in Bernie too, because he’s all they’ve got.
Remember, it was a Democratic governor who furiously demanded the Occupiers in Albany be arrested.
Even less politically oriented voters understand that the people asking for their votes are living way, way better than they do, and looking for the cause. The question is, do such voters understand the system well enough to actually go register to vote in the primaries?

      • capt spaulding October 19, 2015 at 7:59 pm #

You guys sound like things can be changed by voting Sanders in. Unless you can provide him with a congress that’s willing to back him up, nothing is gonna happen. The Oligarchs own and control congress. They snuck in & took power while our attention was directed somewhere else. There’s no way in hell that they are gonna give that up without a literal revolution by the masses, & I just don’t see that happening any time soon. They have the power and they’re damn well gonna keep it now that they’ve got it.

        • cbeard October 20, 2015 at 12:53 pm #

The best thing that could happen is for everyone to vote anti incumbent. The president will be hamstrung unless congress is in his corner. I’m sick of the oft repeated mantra “you’re throwing your vote away by voting 3rd party”. Bullshit, you’re vote is wasted on the status quo, if its actually counted at all.

Meanwhile the Benghazi hearings roll on mostly because Hillary stone walls and then complains that it’s all old news. I suspect Benghazi and “Server Gate” are related. My guess is that she was too clever by half, and in trying to evade public records laws her server got hacked and the hackers saw communications with Ambassador Stephens. They figured out where he was and killed him in a phony demonstration. It will be interesting to see if all the slow drip of emails will simply bore everybody or whether it will ultimately wreck her chance. If it’s the latter, Biden could be our next president.

  14. hmuller October 19, 2015 at 10:36 am #

I served 20 years in military intelligence. If any ordinary person had arbitrarily rerouted top secret information to their home computer as Hillary did, they’d be facing prison time. Yet she laughs it off, even joking about wiping the server clean and destroying the evidence. How ironic that a younger Hillary helped hound Nixon out of office for hubris in abusing power and violating the law.

You see that’s where I go off the reservation. What are the damages? That’s what a lawyer wants to know. Then a judge makes it right. What were the damages when Clinton lied about Monica? Nada. What were the damages when W lied about WMD? Mucho. And who was impeached?

      • vengeur October 19, 2015 at 10:51 am #

Where were the damages when Clinton and his banker buddies repealed Glass-Steagall?

        • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 10:57 am #

Plenty and that’s what I am talking about. If there are damages fine. But did Clinton email server hurt anybody or anything?

          • vengeur October 19, 2015 at 11:02 am #

Other than revealing herself once again to be a duplicitous, conniving, monumentally incompetent liar, no damage was done.

Stay on point or admit the point. My contention is we should spend time on consequential matters. When you cannot admit the Clinton email server scandal is trivial, you attack her personally. I’m calling you out.

          • hmuller October 19, 2015 at 11:18 am #

We the public don’t know yet how many foreign intelligence services hacked into and read Hillary’s e-mail. The FBI is still investigating, but we may never know the full extent of this security breach. Mossad didn’t send a thank-you card for the info.
Obviously, you seawolf77, have never been inside the cult of intelligence. Mishandling highly classified material is a serious matter, even if no one can definitely prove it fell into the wrong hands. The negligent person gets jail time just for the mishandling.

E-mails are a distraction, like Bill’s affairs were. More to the point, the lady dissembles.

Her idea of leadership is, find a parade and try to get in front of it. What is her direction? She really doesn’t know… whatever makes money for the Clintons, or gets her elected. She says she learns with experience, but it looks more like she reads the polls.

I think we could expect just what we got with Bill – slimey concuspiscient conniving with corporate interests, rewarded after leaving office by the quid part of quid pro quo in the guise of “speaking fees.”

I have absolutely no use for Hillary Clinton… she should retire from her ‘race’ for office, and go slink off to a cave somewhere to molt.

Audit finds that Hillary Clinton’s State Department was among the worst in government for cybersecurity:

        http://hotair.com/archives/2015/10/19/report-state-dept-cybersecurity-under-clinton-among-the-worst-in-government/

Just the fact that she appears so out of touch with all things Internet related “I carried two devices for convenience” etc. and that she went through such machinations to use a “private server” that she and her husband could control and also the fact that she had lawyers and others without top secret security clearances pouring through her emails to decide which were “private/personal” and which were “work related” shows very poor judgment on her part and that alone should disqualify her from seeking the highest office in the land.

There is a reason a majority of polled Americans feel that Hillary Clinton is “untrustworthy”.

Woman or not, is she truly the best America can put forward to represent the interests of our country?!

        • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 2:17 pm #

From what I remember women leaders in the more vibrant parts of the world don’t exactly cover themselves in glory, nor do they seem to last long. So I wonder how long the coalition of fringes known as the D party can still throw up a helicopter mommy figure for spoiled white girls type leader?

I will admit I was totally wrong, I thought up till two years ago that spoiled white women’s feminism was a dead letter, boy was I wrong it now seems to be the animating ideology for the establishment, make the world safe for their precious daughters.

Maybe the D party will get lucky and the electorate is like Argentina’s, accepting of an incompetent autocrat prone to mood swings.

As Rush says, White female neutered worker insects are enraged over what happened to Hillary last time. They don’t care how evil she is – they are putting her in this time. She is them writ large.

About your error: Feminism triumphed so completely that it became the Culture. Young women claim not to be Feminists because they’ve been raised as Feminists and don’t even see it as something separate that can be singled out just as a fish doesn’t see the water.

To represent The Two Parties as yin and yang, however complementary, is to overstate their essential differences. They serve the same masters to further a shared agenda; the difference is just one of marketing.

The two parties are now like KFC traditional recipe vs KFC extra crispy. They appear somewhat different on the surface, but they both taste like chicken. Sort of.

“But the disorder across the gradient is equally impressive.”

    Indeed.

None of the candidates speak my language. My friends on the farm speak highly of Bernie, but when I gave him a listen, I heard him talking about fixing the transportation infrastructure. Like, the world is being choked by fumes, terminally ill from them, and he wants to fix the roads? So we can drive more, and in greater comfort? If he spoke my language he would have said something about outlawing fossil fuels, or severely limiting them somehow, maybe making non-emergency use of a car illegal. The rest of what he said during the listen I gave him was inane, and it made no memorable impact on me. If he had wanted to interest me in voting for him, he would have said something like this:

“The USA is a rogue nation, the #1 state sponsor of terrorism, and I propose to take immediate action to indict the entire Bush (W) and Obama administrations for crimes against humanity, war crimes, torture, violations of international law in overthrowing sovereign nations for the past several decades, fraud, …..” You get the idea.

None of these people speak my language. They’re all liars, criminals, scum. To me, this election is about installing the next terrorist in chief. I don’t have time to listen to any of those dirt bags.

The USA needs to collapse, to burn, be blown up, whatever it takes to dismantle it and make it go away. It’s the earth’s most immediate need. Thankfully, all the other nations on the planet are realizing that they need to do this, because the American people are f……g useless. Why do they (we?) allow this government to stand? Why aren’t there 100,000 people surrounding the White House 24/7?

Oh, because we can still drive to Walmart, which is still open 24/7.

History has shown that absolute power ALWAYS provides for excesses…which end of the shit-stick would you like to be on?

I’m already sick of her route recitals of lies. At least “the meshugganah grandpa” is enthusiastic about the off the wall points he’s trying to make. Hillary is more like a third rate actor reading the script for a commercial that she doesn’t want to be in.

    • Beryl of Oyl October 19, 2015 at 12:30 pm #

Bernie isn’t up to date enough. He’s stuck in the Seventies. He thinks we have two many kinds of deodorant. Mr. Kunstler had a whole column on the lack of diversity in retail these days.

I thought Larry David was Sanders. He is, essentially. Sanders became a joke the minute he let Hillary of the hook about the emails. A moment of Truth just as when McCain refused to give solace to the women who was afraid of Obama. Instead he said, “He’s a great American”. A complete lie that shows McCain isn’t a great American.

How about giving them all “truth serum” then asking each the same 100 questions?

        That would be fun!

Question #1: Tell us everything you know about 9/11 up to and including all top secret/classified information.

        Etc.

This is what the country needs. A “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” regarding 9/11 (what did Bush/Cheney know and when did they know it). The truth about Iraq (it just came out yesterday that Bush made a deal with Blair about Iraq in 2002), Honduras, Ukraine, Afghanistan (the story about the Taliban meeting with Bush before 9/11 regarding a pipeline), Syria, Yemen and on and on.

The truth about the NSA and the surveillance state. MK-Ultra, Operation Mockingbird dealing with the CIA and the media.

Peter Dale Scott’s writings about the “Deep State” and the Constitution being suspended after 9/11 which has thrown us into a perpetual “State of Emergency”. All this was conjured up by Rumsfeld, Cheney and North back during Iran-Contra.

Heck, while we’re at it, let’s get ALL the files released on the JFK, RFK, MLK, Jr. assassinations.

This is why I believe we are in the sorry state of affairs right now in the United States. We are all living under a cloud of LIES and STATE SECRETS PRIVILEGE.

Just look at the TPP trade deal. All done in secret and my understanding is that nothing will be revealed publicly for four years after it has been approved!!!

I’m supporting Martin O’Malley, and I think he did a good job introducing himself to the American people in the first debate, but he has to be more forceful in the next one if he wants to be President. He has a solid record as governor of Maryland to point to and he showed his toughness as mayor of Baltimore. I know he gets slammed for his stewardship of that city, but he did the best possible job running a big city in a country with a national government that doesn’t value big cities. Having a former big-city mayor as President would be a plus, because until we get a President who understands the cities and their value, no mayor of Baltimore is ever going to succeed in trying to turn the place into Paris-On-the-Patapsco! It’s too bad that Marylanders didn’t appreciate Governor O’Malley’s progressive agenda and replaced him with a suburban developer named Larry Hogan – who’s inexplicably popular in Maryland right now. Oh yeah, he canceled a proposed light-rail line.

      O who?

  23. Smoky Joe October 19, 2015 at 11:16 am #

Jim Webb has no national presence, but here in Ol’ Virginny we like him a lot.

He is a retired military man who saw combat and is restrained in his ways. Too restrained, perhaps, to be Presidential. At a political event not long ago she stood quietly talking to those who came up to him while our other Senator, Mark Warner, worked the room.

So Webb is no bobblehead. His natural restraint fell away when we told off W when the Dunce asked about Webb’s son, then serving in Iraq.

And speaking of Iraq, the GOP does a fine job of trumpeting the “Benghazi Four” while conveniently ignoring the “Iraq 4,500,” dead because of their party’s strutting “Daddy” President and his creepy lying Uncles Dick and Donald.

    • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 11:20 am #

Is there anyone more avuncular than Uncle Donald? Webb reminded me of the Apollo 11 astronauts in their press conference after the moon landing. You never saw 3 guys more NOT wanting to be there, this after accomplishing the greatest feat in human history.

    • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 3:09 pm #

Webb voted for the NDAA. How good a man can he be? Good people can’t get elected past the local level. They cease to be good in the process even if they were to begin with.

      • seawolf77 October 19, 2015 at 9:01 pm #

In my business good people are people who stay at work until 8 or 9 at night. That’s how they get to be good people. Who knows what’s good.

That’s what Pilate said. But many know: The Good is that which is in accordance or leads to the True and the Beautiful – the other two aspect of the Platonic Trinity.

The third woman finally made it through Ranger School. She said thinking of her kids helped her make it. They were with her at the “ceremony” along with the first two. Women in Ranger School while small children are at home: Is this in accordance with the Good, the True, and the Beautiful? Clearly not. Her duty is at home. Her ego has driven her to compete with men. That’s her motivation, not service. Her service and commitments are clear – the ones she already signed on for when she got pregnant. She is AWOL, a deserter in the deepest sense of the word.

Hope this helps. I could also have explained the Good in its own terms, but this was simplest and the Three are One at the highest level anyway. The Good is the moral aspect, the True the truth aspect, and the Beautiful, the aesthetic aspect – of Divinity or a life thereunto.

A very liberal online site had an article wondering why Zephyr Teachout didn’t do better in some of the parts of NYC and environs that had the most voters who would benefit from a true liberal as governor. I think I know why.
I think the fight against ‘voter suppression’ isn’t to benefit the people it’s claimed to be benefitting. Not at all.

To your question NO it cannot be fixed. It’s a like a family. You just live with it; there is no fixing it. The folly is in the trying.

  27. 99 cent nation October 19, 2015 at 11:49 am #

Of course no one can fix this. Its a mess and always has been. Set up that way. Impossible. Here we go again another bull shit round of spin the bottle of who to vote for for those that still think voting is actually going to set things straight. The only for sure thing is that the corporations and wall street are eventually take us over the cliff as if we weren’t already in free fall. So it is starting to look like to take the minds of the so called citizen consumers have frozen in time and walk around buying things that all can do with out but keep the illusion going for awhile more. I suppose an another war or two will prop things up for a little longer. Don/t know if any of you have read about the newest whistle blower on drones and that a least over 90 percent that those that are taken out are innocent of anything. What a toilet this country has become.

    • Beryl of Oyl October 19, 2015 at 12:47 pm #

It doesn’t matter if the citizen consumer quits buying the stuff. A new citizen, or a non-citizen, will be along any minute now to take their place.
Is that a Ponzi scheme? Or a pyramid one?

  28. BackRowHeckler October 19, 2015 at 11:50 am #

One thing I’m noticing is how families degenerate thru succeeding generations, not only with people i personally know, but with prominent and accomplished families as well, entropy writ both large and small. For example, locally, a prominent attorney and politician whose grandson recently died on the streets of Hartford of a drug overdose, a doctor’s son beat to death in the Bronx a few years back in a drug deal gone bad, the sons of a prominent businessman all hanging around town drunk and raising hell, going nowhere, the daughter of a high ranking army officer in and out of rehab and her own son in a mental institution … I could go on and on, not only is the country falling apart but individual families are falling apart, too. How is it that Mark Twain’s only granddaughter committed suicide in Hollywood with a homemade cocktail of pills and booze, Lincoln’s great grandkids were basically unemployed lifetime losers, and President Arthur’s grandson ended up selling newspapers on the streets of San Francisco? I see young people on the streets, all tatted up, with nose rings, looking wired and wierd, and think, these are descendants of men who fought at Antietam and Normandy, how did it come to this?

As far as Hillary Clinton goes, there’s a certain lack of shame about her, and about her husband. Bill Clinton was here last week picking up a humanitarian award from the Tom Dodd Center at UCONN. He gave a short speech and made $100,000 for his efforts. Tom Dodd was kicked out of the Senate and indicted in the 1960’s. His son Chris Dodd, who presented the award, was a ‘friend of Angelo’, and should be in prison right now, too, but instead is a Big Hollywood Lobbyist. This is our political elite right now, high end grifters and criminals, giving each other awards, and jerking each other off.

What’s to be said about futility? Unfixable means unfixable. Now that we are leaderless lost in a blind alley–who wants to shout and stampede the clueless? You can catch me climbing the walls…

With all the other rackets and pathology out there I have narrowed my concern to two: 1) Bad money and 2) busybody warfare. Why work or save if the value can be “disappeared” or plucked like an apple? How do you stop sociopaths from killing innocent people in your name and then expecting a pat on the back and a medal?

I live in a southern defense industry town. The money flows like wine at a bacchanal and its bad form to call your neighbors–killers. Why can we not cut the defense budget and add some chill to the inevitable -winter’s coming? Hillary and Jeb are BAU. Is there any talk or argument that would indicate a putative leader was going to do anything constructive about our condition?

    • baird October 19, 2015 at 6:39 pm #

Interesting that there is very little, read virtually none, discussion of the money spent on “defense” either in MSM or even here and other fringe places. How is it possible that we spend well over 50% or our budget on this stuff, and that’s not counting the off books $. Can this possibly make us more secure, strange indeed.

    Can’t Anyone Fix This?

    JHK,
Short of a benign dictator, I would think not. PatrickD opines that the system is FUBAR, and I believe he is correct. Maybe we should be looking, not for a fix, but a “mitigation”…give us another 10 years or so before the wolf comes knocking.

Bernie Sanders is, indeed, an Alan Arkin-esque character. For me, his saving grace is that he, as an avowed Socialist, is “untouchable” in this political system, and has most probably not been bought and paid for by special interests. Can he save the country? Hell no, but he would provide great theatre whilst we await our comeuppance.

  31. swmnguy October 19, 2015 at 12:09 pm #

Yes, it seems we in America want a Daddy to fix Things and a Mommy to tell us Things will be OK.

The trouble is, it’s the Thing itself which can’t be fixed. We’ve allowed Finance to overwhelm everything else in our society, and our system of Finance has a fatal flaw in it.

Our system is based on debt at interest. That’s what our money is, in fact; coupons for debt at interest. That means there has to be more money tomorrow to pay off the debts incurred today. That should happen by real economic growth, but we don’t live in an infinite world. Once limits are hit, the system has to collapse. We began nudging up against those limits some 35 years ago (opinions differ on exactly when).

But the Elites didn’t want to let the system collapse and reconfigure itself, erasing huge amounts of debt in the process. The Elites wanted to keep the advantages they had, not to have to start over. So we just started cheating, and claiming that debt which could never be repaid could be, and that economic growth that wasn’t happening actually was, and so on.

Most of us really do know this. We just won’t admit it out loud because we’re afraid we, or everyone around us, will freak out severely. And that’s not an unreasonable fear. So we pretend things are just fine, when we know they aren’t, and we fixate on tiny distinctions and details to distract ourselves from the unsolved problem which just keeps getting worse as we neglect it.

Now we’re at the bizarre point where the candidates for President from a major party have to pretend they don’t believe in the science that forms the basis of the society they live in and the inventions they use every day.

The other major party has to pretend that the obviously broken system can be fixed by making it more “fair,” or at least by pandering to a different group. The notion of “Identity Politics” is held up as meaning something, as if somehow only a middle-aged white male midwesterner who grew up poor and now runs his own business can look after my personal interests, and only a black woman could understand what my neighbor needs, etc. It’s all totemistic magical thinking, because it’s the entire system that needs replacing, from the ground up.

Nobody wants to be the first to admit this, and take the blame for the panic that will ensue. Of course, the dread of the panic is always far worse than the actual panic, as a lot of people will say, “Thank God somebody finally said it; now let’s get to work,” and will behave very well indeed. Always happens.

Many short-term petty political advantages come from situations where nobody is willing to tell the truth. Benghazi is a good example. Both parties know the consulate in Benghazi was the CIA station house, the torture chamber, the headquarters of the Sunni mercenaries who are the long-term collaborators with the Zbignew Brzezinski-worshiping cabal that runs US foreign policy and has for the past 50 years. The locals blew their cool and attacked this fortress of evil in their midst, and both the Republicans and Democrats know it perfectly well. They also know the US consulate in Benghazi was the staging point for the next move, to Syria.

Hillary Clinton can’t and won’t tell the truth, so the Republicans are free to beat her over the head with it until she does, which will happen never. It’s free punches time, and she deserves it.

Same rules apply to our overall situation. Until somebody starts telling the truth we all either know or strongly suspect, that our system is fundamentally unsound and can’t be fixed and must therefore be replaced, we’ll have nothing but focus on insignificant minutiae blown up to titanic proportions. Gay marriage? Fine, whatever. Nobody really cares, other than tax accountants. We all already knew whom the gay couples were, and if you have any damn sense at all, you want them as your neighbors. Cops killing people for the hell of it, because they are trained to do so? Yes, we should stop that, and see it as the symptom of a collapsing system that it is, rather than as a “social justice” issue. When mercenaries are set forth to forage off the citizenry, it’s a 3rd Amendment issue for everyone, not just black people.

Bernie Sanders comes closest to being able to say our system doesn’t work, because he doesn’t have to pretend to be a loyalist to finance capitalism. All the rest do, which is particularly absurd because the last thing any American “finance capitalist” wants is actual free-market competition. They all want crony corporatism, with their own interests favored over all others, of course.

Nobody is going to acknowledge the truth until it becomes so painfully obvious to everyone that it has to be mentioned. And then, all at once, everybody is going to say they knew it and had been saying so all along, but nobody would listen.

I’d love to fast-forward to that point, but that’s not how these things go. As an individual, all I can do is tell people what I observe, and act accordingly to safeguard myself and my family, while going about my business. Sort of like making sure the silverware gets wiped down so it doesn’t get spotted, in the dishroom of the Titanic. But maybe I can take my work over near the escape hatch…

No, people do care. Once gay marriage is legalized, the whole culture is changed and it is then taught in grade school as normal. And normal people don’t want that. So you see, it goes far deeper than just two people who want to be left alone. They know that, you don’t. They’ve been playing chess and you’ve been playing checkers.

      @ Swmnguy:

Nicely done. I find it interesting that we are seeing eyeball-to-eyeball about so many things, but maybe that’s not too surprising: reading farther along I see that we were both left with no other choice but to grow up – ie., to be our own ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy’ for all intents and purposes – and to deal with life on its own terms, not as it ‘should’ (wishfully) be…

Feel free to keep stuff like this coming.

      Cheers!

    • Sean Coleman October 20, 2015 at 10:18 am #

Two years ago Chris Patten, a senior British politician wrote, ‘”I think it’s astonishing that politicians are so reluctant to say we’re not anymore facing a series of challenges which are manageable within our own space…

“It’s proved extremely difficult for political leaders to tell people what they may not want to hear and get elected. And the general consequence has been that political leaders only tell people a bit about what they don’t want to hear, which doesn’t exactly prevent the growth of populism and parties on the extreme but can just about secure their election.”

Former British government aide Dominic Cummings not so long ago spoke of “politicians running around who don’t really know what they’re doing all day or what the purpose of their being in power is.” He also said, “Everyone thinks there’s some moment, like in a James Bond movie, where you open the door and that’s where the really good people are, but there is no door.”

    • Sean Coleman October 20, 2015 at 11:07 am #

” …we’ll have nothing but focus on insignificant minutiae blown up to titanic proportions. Gay marriage? Fine, whatever. Nobody really cares.”

I agree with Janos that people really do care, both those always looking to discover new personal freedoms to impose on the unenlightened masses and those who don’t want that kind of enlightenment forced down their throats.

Gay marriage is admittedly insignificant in terms of the miniscule numbers of people who want to avail of it in comparison with the main story, which is the irrelevance which traditional marriage has been reduced to, but the ‘minutiae’ taken as a whole are most certainly not. JHK’s opening line is something I have long been saying, in the sense that you can’t ’embrace’ the liberal agenda unless you wipe your memory. If behaviour is tolerated now, even actively promoted as virtuous, which would have shocked 50, 30, 20, 10, even 5 years ago (and that’s not even going back to before the beginning of the progressive revolution) how does that work then?

What Barack Obama is fighting for

A few days ago, President Obama gave a very remarkable interview to CBS correspondent Steve Croft in his program “60 Minutes.”

Obama looked tired but nevertheless content, as a person that has successfully completed something important, maybe the most important thing in his life. Meanwhile, he still has a year at the helm of the domestic and foreign policy of the USA, and the things that are the most central to his presidency, are very far from complete.

In particular, the fate of the Trans-Atlantic and Trans-Pacific Partnerships are in serious trouble. And the fate of the latter, already seemed to be solved in the best way for Obama suddenly again under threat after the betrayal of Hillary Clinton. Former Secretary of State immediately before the televised debates attacked the treaty, one of the authors of which she is. And it happened after Obama did not at her request create a no-fly zone over Syria. Neither did he start to arm the so-called moderate opposition to the Assad regime.

I must say, the time for this interview was chosen very poorly. Steven Croft is considered a heavyweight of American journalism, and to give him an interview – an impossible dream of many American politicians, including members of Congress and the US Senate. He was the first journalist to whom Obama gave an interview shortly after he became president, and it may very well be that this is his last in office, a certain retrospective of his work.

Meanwhile, Obama’s ratings are currently at a very low point and he had to answer questions from Steve Croft, associated with a very low estimate of his achievements by an overwhelming majority of Americans. However, Barack Obama responded to these questions openly, claiming that his greatest achievement is the successful struggle with the consequences of the economic crisis of 2008 which he led his entire first term in the White House.

But while he was struggling with the economic crisis, his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has managed to support the Islamist revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Syria, known as the “Arab Spring”, and his second term, Obama began by saying that he would try to correct the effects of her activities. In particular, it was with his blessing that the counter coup occurred in Egypt, after which President Obama has asked Congress to declare war on Islamic state in an official statement by the US Congress. That is required by the US Constitution; unlike undeclared, “humanitarian wars” that Hillary Clinton so loves to arrange.

Unfortunately, those who believe that US must first overthrow Assad, and only then engage in a fight with “Islamic state” failed that proposal of US President, since it would allow Obama to enact Trading with the Enemy Act of 1939 and to throw in jail anyone who airdrops weapons to ISIS and buys their oil. And they continued to arm the so-called moderate Syrian opposition, who after receiving weapons, instantly turns into ISIS, the struggle with which turns into American shame.

And now, when Russia began to operate independently and the Russian President de facto becomes the leader of anti-ISIS coalition, Barack Obama suddenly gives interview to Steven Croft, despite the fact that the majority of Americans sees the geopolitical changes as a strategic defeat of the United States, under the responsibility of the President himself.

And Steven Croft asks him the question: “Do we not lose the US leadership position in the Greater Middle East due to the weakness of Barack Obama as the president? ..” Barack Obama begins to answer this question in his usual diplomatic manner, but Stephen Croft begins to break in and pretty aggressively and lists accusations toward Obama. The latter turns on his speaking skills and forces the interviewer to recognize that these accusations come from Israel, Saudi Arabia and the hawks of the Republican Party. In response, Obama openly said that those who accuse him of weakness really want him to start deliveries of American weapons to opponents of Assad and Russia, and even to start a new war in Syria against the legitimate government of this country.

In response to the accusation of surrender leadership positions, President Obama says that President Putin, of course, would prefer that the army of President Assad has solved the problem of ISIS, “Al-Qaeda”, “Al-Nusra” and other immoderate opposition alone, without the intervention of Russian Air Force. In addition, Obama redefines the concept of “leadership”, claiming, for example, that the real leadership is to fight against climate change, but not to execute the duties of the Supreme Commander. And in a sense he is right, because the drought in California and hurricanes and floods in New Orleans, New Jersey and New York, of course, represent a much greater threat to the United States than the Assad government in Syria.

Unfortunately, in the United States this view is still considered as foolishness, but President Obama says the “foolish” things with difficulty refraining from a triumphant smile. Moreover, it seems that he says something very important, for which he went for the interview. So what is this thing, the completion of which has forced President Obama to take this step, forcing him to answer the most unpleasant questions in the most inconvenient time for himself?

The answer to this question was, oddly enough, given by the television channel Fox 5, who drew attention to Obama’s words in the interview, according to which it is due to the good work of US intelligence Obama had long been aware that Russia is prepared to use military force to protect the Syrian state, personified by the president Assad. And what excited Fox5 was not the praise to the US intelligence community, which no one believed anyway, but the fact that this recognition shows that Barack Obama drank Champaign with Putin for the health of the United Nations, knowing that the so-called moderate opposition to Assad would soon be bombed by Russian Air Force.

Indeed, if Obama knew that Russia is going to throw its military weight on the scale of the Syrian conflict, during a private meeting with President Putin, he undoubtedly discussed possible responses to this action by the war party in the United States, headed by Hillary Clinton.

And she did not disappoint expectations, predictably demanded the introduction of “no-fly zone” in Syria, which was already introduced in Kosovo and Libya both times leading to war.

And then it becomes clear an additional meaning of launching Russian cruise missiles “Caliber” from the Caspian Sea, which has happened on the same day after an attempt to declare a no-fly zone in Syria, very clearly demonstrated that the US aircraft carrier group in the Persian Gulf led by the aircraft carrier “Theodore Roosevelt” is in the kill zone of small missile ships “Buyan-M”.

Accordingly, it becomes understandable immediate response to the launch of Calibers by President Obama, who “fear for strategic resource” carrier battle group led by the aircraft carrier “Theodore Roosevelt” and Squadron of F-22 “Raptor” at the air base in Abu Dhabi, ordered them immediately to leave the area of a possible pre-emptive strike by the Russian missiles, the possibility of which have been so clearly demonstrated on the birthday of the President of Russia.

Now the no-fly zone over Syria has nothing to be implemented with, and all the influence of Hillary Clinton is not enough to move the carrier battle group to the other regions of the world, especially against the active opposition of US President.

The decision of President Obama was told with indignation to its television audience by Fox5. And the fact that they do not understand that it is all about preventing a nuclear war, should be attributed to the persistence of militaristic propaganda in the US. Fox5 cannot simply explain to the Americans that Russia is again a superpower, with military might at least comparable to the military might of the United States, and not only in nuclear but also in conventional weapons.

For President Obama, of course, it is a great victory worthy of his political career, since he seems to have long been aware of the changed strategic balance, but the president, who did not want to admit this fact and bring the matter to complete disaster, would not be the First Black President of the United States.

That’s a very interesting analysis, and it makes sense to me. It explains why an obviously very intelligent man has taken what is presented as a very stupid course of actions. I don’t agree with President Obama on many matters, but I can tell he’s a lot more intelligent than his actions would make him appear. This makes sense to me. Thanks for the explanation!

Obviously, President Obama hasn’t been able to get Zbigniew Brzezinski and his proteges out of control of US foreign policy. Maybe some sort of exorcism would help in that regard; burning of sage, ritualistic chanting, etc. Wooden stakes through some hearts probably wouldn’t hurt things, either.

Of course Obama cannot prevent droughts, floods and hurricanes, not with current technology.

But he could build a better anti-(droughts, floods and hurricanes) infrastructure and get a lot of people employed in a good, meaningful work in the process.

The Mommy , Daddy metaphor is interesting and explains a lot. I have been reading a lot stuff on line about ” The Herd Instinct”. It answers a lot of questions about why we vote the way we do or not vote.

Why do we only have two choices when it comes to voting for elected office? Is it to Maximize the Herd Instinct Effect? Countries with a Parliamentary System have many parties and more elections.

I just read a history book covering 1850 to 1865 and I suspect JHK is right these conditions in the country are surprising similar.

What was it that Lincoln said at Gettysburg, something about government of the people, by the people, for the people, not perishing from this earth?

Well, too bad about all that.

If that NY Times article has it right and just 158 families coughed up half the political donations for this election, what we have is government of the money, by the money, for the money.

This is oligarchy. I don’t know what else you’d call it. In any case, it’s no surprise. Anyone with functioning eyeballs could see it.

But now we have it by the numbers. Out of a country of 300 million+ people, a handful, hardly the size of an Italian wedding, run the show.

According to the article most of the loot went to Republican coffers. So, if those numbers are right, it means that Democrats do their whoring on the cheap. Don’t you think that billionaires like a bargain too? Rich people ALWAYS look at the price tag.

Don’t believe me about the Democrats? You have a DEMOCRAT President touting the TPP. A DEMOCRAT President greasing the way for more offshoring. What a joke.

And how much money did Obama fire-hose at Wall Street during the financial melt-down? An even bigger joke.

And if Hillary gets into the Big House, she will have a change of mind and support the Oligarch agenda via the TPP. Count on it.

Tell me, did you contribute to Hillary’s election campaign? Do you plan to? Do you think you’re more enlightened than those Republican knuckle-draggers?

Do you seriously think that Democrats are – cough – “progressive”? Seriously?

Never mind Hillary’s mind-boggling Benghazi and email fubars, I suspect that Hillary will be the next President. And, while Democrats are doing their superiority dance, I will laugh and laugh. So will the Oligarchs.

Figuring the 135 families have maybe 750 members, and there are 300 million total people in the usa, the rulers constitute, not 1%; not 1/100 of one per-cent, but a mind-boggling .00025% of total citizens. That’s Citizens United if ever we have seen it!!!!

Yes, the patent protection will be the highlight of those new pacts, mostly protecting the intellectual property of US corporations. But you should inquire how much money they invest in new drug’s R&D.

And yes, it will be a bad deal for generics and poor, uninsured patients.

But is is all about returning competitive edge to US corporations and America is awfully behind. If not for god damned Clintons, you should’ve started reformatting your economy in the early 90s, right after defeat of the USSR in the Cold War, instead of wildly running the printing press under pretext of Informational Superhighway/dot-com business.

Every so often, JHK puts up a piece that hits me where I live, deep down. Usually it’s the same perspective, just framed with a metaphor that resonates with me. This is one such.

As my life unfolds, and my next birthday will be my 50th, I find that things in my life I had always considered as detriments and obstacles turn out later to have been huge advantages.

Growing up poor while being surrounded with wealth I couldn’t share or use was one. I was really angry about that for a long time. With time, however, I’ve seen how the people I envied have turned out. They’ve had material comfort their whole lives, and most of them are miserable. They’ve had to deal with knowing they didn’t earn their comfort, and they’ve had a lot of time to think about whether or not they are good and useful people. Many of them are neither. I’ve never had the time to spend pondering my existence for very long; I just have had to do it. As a result, I have a lot less than many people I know, but I sure do enjoy what I do have. I haven’t had to become cynical to justify my privileges. I can actually mean what I say, and believe it too. I don’t have unreasonable guilt, nor defensive reactions to protect myself. I still can’t jet off to the Alps for a weekend of skiing, but I don’t care. I know people who do that sort of thing all the time, but are so miserable they can only function in a medicated haze, full of bitterness, and spreading their misery to everyone who is unfortunate enough to have to deal with them.

JHK’s metaphor that hit me was the yearning for a Daddy to fix things and a Mommy to tell them everything will be OK. My actual parents are still alive. My life has been made vastly more complicated and difficult by the fact that my Daddy is the alcoholic son of a very angry and probably alcoholic father. My mother had a crisis at age 16 that left her emotionally crippled. They were (and still are) perfect for each other in the way that only two completely dysfunctional people can be.

For the longest time I’d thought that was a huge burden to me, and made it much more difficult for me to mature into a functional, autonomous adult. As I’ve raised my two children, now teenagers getting ready to become adults themselves, I’ve constantly questioned myself as a parent and tried hard to not do to them what was done to me.

Whether it’s as a result of my self-doubt, or my incredibly insightful parenting, my kids are two of the best people I know. They’re honest, open, forthright, smart, empathetic, and magnetic people. Others are drawn to them. Everybody likes them, and wants to be near them and help them. I try to explain to them that they’ll attract users as well, and they’ll need to learn to tell whom they should be wary of.

Key to my development has been the fact that I don’t want my Daddy to fix things, nor my Mommy to tell me everything is OK. My Daddy can’t fix anything, nor would anyone want him to try. My Mommy’s assurances were transparently ineffectual to me even as a very young child.

I learned very early on that things went well for me when I was able to take things into my own hands; not without difficulties of course, but I have always either found a way to make things work, or I’ve seen well enough to bail out of a hopeless situation before it was too late. When I’ve had real catastrophes, it’s been when I haven’t taken the initiative on my own behalf, relying on others to keep my best interests foremost. Guess what. Others don’t do that. I’m the only person I really trust to look out for my own best interests.

Some people find that outlook depressing, but they’re fooling themselves. Actually, my parents find my outlook depressing and berate me for it. I don’t respond. I don’t have time to engage in that sort of thing; I have to support myself, my family, and I have to pay my parents’ bills too. Really, I suppose I don’t have to, but I feel I should, so I do. If I were more like them, waiting for somebody else to take care of them, I wouldn’t be able to do anything for them.

That’s the problem. Too many of us are expecting somebody else to take care of them. Their parents must have promised to always be there for them, and they believed it. I’ve always told my kids I really couldn’t help them that much, but that they would be able to do just fine on their own, with the little help I could give them. They seem to have believed that, and act accordingly. I overhear them hearing their friend’s problems, and they’re always telling their friends to stop depending on others and just do it themselves; even a wrong move has to be better than just sitting there passively.

America wants what it can never have and shouldn’t even want. Christ, I’m 49 years old. Why would I want to be parented? Especially if you knew my parents.

Just another thing I thought was a problem that turned out to be a huge advantage. Like having made a mistake in my 20s that kept me from using any credit until I was in my 30s and had gotten used to paying cash for everything.

“The Onion” used to sell a T-shirt that said, “I Wish Someone Would Do Something About How Fat I Am.” America needs that shirt.

Excellent post. The story goes that John Lennon’s aunt told him the key to life was happiness. So he goes to school and his teacher’s make him write an essay on what he wants to be when he grows up. He writes ” I want to be happy.” The teachers tell him he did not understand the assignment. He writes “You don’t understand life.” I guess Yoko Ono did it for him. How could anyone named “Oh No” do it for anyone? How could Paul McCartney marry a one legged whore when he was the richest musician in the world?

Some people are into stumps. I’m sorry about that. As the girl said in Blue Velvet, “Why did God make people like Frank?” Indeed, until you leave Lumberton, Lumberton is the world and Lumberton is in you. But Lumberton is not the world, and bad people can come into Lumberton, but you wont realize it because you are Lumberton because you’ve never left Lumberton.

Blake said it better in his Songs of Innocence and Experience.

I could get into a one legged whore, but only if she was a good person. Think of how much social credit you would accrue helping her up the stairs, etc. Just make sure she’s willing to go one legged on a regular basis. But a one legged Black dwarf would be better still.

“Too many of us are expecting someone else to take care of them.”

Excellent comment. I can’t help but relate that to my ongoing effort to get people here to call for a ban on same sex couples and transgender people creating offspring, which they are demanding a right to do, when other people make it possible for them. They don’t have a right to have other people make children for them, the right is only to do it yourself, with your own body, with your spouse,

  37. John Howard October 19, 2015 at 1:45 pm #

A necessary first step to fixing things is ending same sex marriage and preserving natural reproduction rights and ruling out transgender reproduction as the new sex, with the same sex.

I’m telling you, that would have a positive impact, it would give men some sense of value, and allow us to start dealing with the real problems. The fact that men can’t be pregnant and women can’t impregnate women is not a problem, but so much of our resources and capital are being wasted trying to overcome it, it is almost criminal.

    • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 3:53 pm #

Yes, when Gay Marches get crushed in Russia, the bruised and tearful Gays cry “Why?” They are told: because such things destroy the public morale. Exactly so. People need a single culture in a single nation – much like minds in bodies – one per customer. And then men can fight the diseased, the criminal, and the abnormal. Police and Citizens unite to crush the marching Gays.

But when the Abnormal is raised above the Normal, what happens to Men? What happens to Men when Women adore Homosexuals and put them before Heterosexuals? And any man who dares to object is ruined socially, fired from his job, and/or imprisoned? Why what do you (not you John) think happens? They cultivate their own garden in their own private life. Society goes to the devil since society turned on them with a vengeance. People are so brainwashed they don’t even think it matter – as if this isn’t a moral issue. Marriage is a social contract, not a furtive tryst. Gays can do what they want – but marry? Come, come gentlemen – be not such Fools.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.

He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist.

He did however back the wrong horse against Octavian during the post-assassination reorganization, as a result: “He was captured and killed near Caieta on December 7. His head and hands were displayed on the rostra, the speakers’ platform at the Forum, in Rome.”-ibid.

Abby, you are completely wrong about everything on your list of problems confronting the US.

Only John Howard has demonstrated exquisite insight into what ails this country and has clearly expressed it over and over and over, namely people in the gay/transgender community trying to knock up, or be knocked up, by use of organs, eggs, sperm, etc. that they were not born with.

What the hell is WRONG with you people? Why can’t you SEE this? ;o)

    • John Howard October 19, 2015 at 4:26 pm #

To clarify, the law I am saying we need would not affect anything people do now to get knocked up. It would only prohibit creating a person by any means other than joining a sperm of a man and an egg of a woman, ruling out transgender reproduction and same sex reproduction. And, it would protect the right of marriage to procreate offspring together, with their own gametes, and would void all same sex marriages.

      • basil October 20, 2015 at 12:13 pm #

I am with you on same-sex procreation. I would add, however, in vitro and surrogate procreation for heterosexual couples unable to conceive naturally. I have in vitro created triplet niece/nephews, at least two of which will be disabled wards of the state for their entire tortured lives. this is common with in vitro.

        • John Howard October 20, 2015 at 1:11 pm #

That’s too bad. Yeah, some states have limited the number of embryos transferred to one or two. I agree it should be regulated more closely, but ivf that joins husband and wife’s gametes might be a right we can’t prohibit completely. But if it can be, then yeah, that should happen too. There is no right to a baby.

much over-reproduction could be ended if it wasn’t such a hassle to get a vasectomy. my wife had to give written consent so I could get one. there was still skepticism because neither of us had had any children. it should be by request of the man only, no stipulations.

Congressional hearings to make sure something like Benghazi never happens again? THAT’S a joke.

In any case, that would imply that it’s possible to put in place systems of command and control to stave off such calamities. OK, there are things that can be done by reasonably able and talented people, you know, enacting some basic managerial organization.

But it requires the assumption of responsibility instead of bureaucratic buck passing. Because somebody has to take the bull by the horns and ACT.

And no system is any damn good if people ignore information or refuse to deal with it.

It’s not like nobody knew about security concerns around the embassy office. EVERYBODY, including the janitors, must have known about it and NOBODY, who could have acted, DID act.

This was a personal and organizational failure. In the immortal words of Harry Houdini, the buck stops on Hillary’s desk. She was the executive in charge and she wears this thing. Not Susan Rice, not anyone else. Yeah, alright, maybe Obama, seeing as he’s the fool that hired Hillary in the first place.

There’s this bureaucratic fog about such mundane matters as security being below Hillary’s level. It was someone else’s responsibility and somebody else’s fault IOW.

Hilarious and total bullshit, especially when we’re talking about a hell-hole like Libya.

    • Janos Skorenzy October 19, 2015 at 4:00 pm #

Yes, it’s huge – far bigger than the Watergate scandal that the Dems love so much. As was Fast and Furious and the IRS scandal. These were against the People, not just the other Party.

Houdini? Not True Man? Truman was a hard core racist back home but color blind in Washington. He said the Black White House cooks were a bunch of coons. This was the pattern for a long time. Now people actually believe the lie of equality. So called progress is really progress into the pit.

Oh, for crying out loud, you still don’t get it, do you?

The most plausible logical hypothesis about Ambassador Stevens death is that he was working on a transfer of Libyan weapons to a new, highly promising group of Islamist extremists, who later became known as Islamic State, under direct supervision of then Secretary Clinton and against the direct orders of the President of United States. Reportedly, some of emails shows that he wanted to blow a whistle before his assassination. That would explain the absence of CIA rescue group.

You keep saying: prove harm came from Hillary’s lax and illegal email handling procedures. Since the emails and info surrounding the investigation have not been made public, we the public don’t have the evidence to prove anything.

Does that prove everything is OK, no harm done? I think you’re smarter than that. Next, you’ll say she’s presumed innocent until proven guilty. You seem unable to grasp the concept that violating security procedures and handling top secret reports in a way anyone can hack in and read them – is itself a crime, even in the unlikely case that no one actually did hack in.

I have been perusing an old Catholic Manual of prayers that is falling apart in my hands… and dates to 1889 and 1916. It is TRULY this old. I see “Sins crying to Heaven for Vengeance” and It lists them as…..Willful murder—-The Sin of Sodom—- Oppression of the Poor—–Defrauding laborers of their wages . There seems to be ….. a lot of this running around out there right now. I ‘m NOT judging anyone but this part in this book strikes me as darn … SCARY … in it’s significance for the times!. Well, religious scrupulosity aside,…as a woman voter I can say there is no way I can vote Democratic! I guess this seems perverse . I have voted Democratic in the past but sometimes a blustering man that doesn’t need to grow a pair is JUST what the doctor ordered for a damsel nation in distress. I actually got the same impression about the Dems at the debates as Mr.Kunstler! I really, really, like Bernie but I am watching socialist nations in Europe melt down and kill themselves being the “loving pelican” for people they let in that want their good things… but still seem to despise their hosts!!! It is sad nations seem to have to choose between common decency and a kind of bully strength to make citizens respect it.

If Trump somehow gets elected (highly doubtful, but George W. Bush stole two elections, so all bets are off) there will be a reversal of border crashings, as Americans attempt to flee to our neighbors north and south.

There is plenty of criticism to go around as to the slate of Presidential candidates from both parties, but really, does it matter, given the current political system? Congress is in perpetual deadlock, and politicians are beholden to their corporate masters. All manmade systems on this planet, from political, social to environmental, are pretty much broken, and I don’t see anyone riding in on their white horse to save us from ourselves. Basically, we’re screwed.

“Who got the chair after Iran Contra? Didn’t Ollie North become a senator? That is what you’re accusing her of right?” — seawolf77

I am just wondering, was the assassination of Ambassador Stevens act of sporadic violence by the group of Islamists who were getting huge benefits through him, or was it a removal of potentially hostile witness with planned and thoroughly executed operation?

Those bearded guys are extremely violent, but not extremely stupid.

Also, who was able to totally suppress the contraction by CIA response team, customary in situations like this?
As usual, everything was swept under the rug under pretext of “incompetence”.

    ==============================================

He hit the alarm and started shouting, “Attack! Attack!” over the loudspeaker. Phone calls were made to the embassy in Tripoli, the Diplomatic Security Command Center in Washington, the February 17th Martyrs Brigade and a U.S. quick reaction force located at the annex compound a little more than a mile away. Ambassador Stevens telephoned Deputy Chief of Mission Gregory Hicks in Tripoli to tell him the consulate was under attack. Mr. Hicks did not recognize the phone number so he didn’t answer it, twice. On the third attempt Mr. Hicks answered the call from Ambassador Stevens.

According to Operators with the Annex Security Team, they had become aware of the consulate attack after 9:30 pm local time, and were ready to respond within five minutes, however, they were delayed from responding by “the top CIA officer in Benghazi”. The Regional Security Office sounded the alarm and placed calls to the Benghazi CIA annex and the embassy in Tripoli, saying, “We’re under attack, we need help, please send help now …” Then the call cut off.

Hey, “Yankee Doodle”, are we back to name-calling?

But you’re right, I am not too privy to official polling numbers, but I bet you my bottom dollar that if we run a quick survey right here on that blog whom to blame for royal fuckup of US policy in Syria and with Russia, the overwhelming majority would blame Obama.

And I suspect, that would include you, Mr.Buck Stud.

    • Cold N. Holefield October 20, 2015 at 7:05 am #

Stay on it Buck. I indicated several threads earlier that Finca’s obvious propaganda is aimed at Trump’s base — disenfranchised Democrats and Republicans fed up with the political process. A REAL RUSSIAN wouldn’t embolden and enlighten these folks, he would want them further neutered by the political process to the point they give up all hope and all resistance. It will make Russia’s takeover that much easier. Notice how the disenfranchised cotton to his Russian-friendly message. These are the same people who several decades earlier would have agreed with a first strike on the Rooskies if it was necessary. Some “Americans” they have proven to be. Patriotism at its finest. Conservatives, or mostly conservatives, willing to hand the keys to the Kingdom over to the dictator Putin. I’ve studied military people posting online for quite some time now, and I swear to you, they are traitors of the worst sort. And they’re “our” military — intended to defend the country from invasion. They have failed that charge miserably and they will continue to fail until Putin or one of his henchmen sits in the White House. Their Man.

You’re just mad that Russia has developed into a National Socialist State, with a balanced mixture of Capitalism – big and small, and Socialism. If it was still ruled by the voracious Oligarchs, you would have no problem.

And let’s face it: it is a bit weird for a ruler to send men to their death who has never been a soldier himself. I’m not saying it should never happen or that it automatically makes for a good president, but it is the natural order.

  52. Cold N. Holefield October 20, 2015 at 7:12 am #

And he’s so right. One result of the economic disassembly of the US was job-loss – jobs that anchored most adults, especially *adult men* in the here-and-now.

All very true. Putin can’t takeover soon enough. When he does, there will be plenty of jobs for aggressive, violent young men to hunt down and beat and torture gays and recalcitrant females into submission. Russia is the paradigm. At least that’s the message I’m getting from the comment section. For those who don’t know this already, Russian food fucking sucks, so maybe you ought to think twice about who you invite to dinner, or better yet, who tells you what you can cook for dinner.

I am with you on same-sex procreation. – basil

    ==============

Oh for God’s sake, what am I missing here? Will you and or John Howard please show me one instance in the history of humankind where a man has impregnated another man or a woman has impregnated another woman.

Has there been some same-sex reproduction Manhattan Project with thousands of medical scientists working secretly on the details of how to impregnate the male of the species that has escaped my notice?

    SAME-SEX REPRODUCTION IS A NON-ISSUE.

I personally am skeeved by same sex marriage but not because I fear they might conceive a child together. John Howard wants to pass a law preemptively to prevent what is currently impossible and forever is likely to remain impossible…..same sex procreation.

Both of you, please get off this fucking subject, you’re being ridiculous. You too, Janos.

Google pregnant man and you’ll see. Of course he’s not really a man but he’s pretending to be. Now imagine what having a parent like that would do to a child. Staring to get it the issue now?

Or how about Gays adopting children? Good idea? How about Lesbian couples having children – think they’ll be messed up?

Not every issue will fit in your columns of figures. You have to think before you open up your pie hole.

      • Q. Shtik October 20, 2015 at 4:34 pm #

perhaps a matter of semantics. homosexuals do acquire children, including by the use of in vitro methods. with the earth’s human population already beyond its ability to sustain, only natural reproductive methods should be used, and then only with much forethought. including heterosexuals.

File this under ‘Free Speech Chronicles.’

Down at Wesleyan U in Middletown, CT, an undergrad (described as a veteran, probably at Wesleyan under the same program i was in) had the audacity, the balls, to write an editorial in the student newspaper, The Argus, established 150 years ago, suggesting in the mildest way possible that the ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement might be a little ill conceived and possibly leading to the murder of police officers as seen in Texas and NYC. Well, the sh-t hit the fan, as you can imagine. There was an uproar, with the venerable campus publication charged with racism, fostering hatred, and possibly in the employ of the KKK. Something, of course, had to be done, and fast. So the student senate took a vote, and without dissent decided to de fund and shut down the Argus (after 150 years in business).

Man, what’s the political climate like on college campuses now? Question, these delicate, precious little pearls in colleges and universities, what are they going to do when they get out into the real world and find out that nobody gives a f-k about their tender PC sensibilities? What a shock it’ll be.

Clinton: I was mistaken about Syria, our Saudi allies duped us

Hillary Clinton has in fact admitted to the chairman of Council on Foreign Relations Richard Haass that she armed ISIS through so-called “moderate” opposition at the instigation of Saudi Arabia, despite the opinion of US President Barack Obama. In her defense, she said, “I could not have predicted the extent to which ISIS could be effective in seizing cities in Iraq and also the degree which Saudis can be dangerous to our national interests”

Referring to the conflict in and around Syria, she said, “Now the wicked problem has gotten even wickeder.”

U.S. pilots told not to react to aggressive Russian jets in Syria

Washington (CNN)U.S. military pilots have been warned by their top commanders to be careful not to react to any Russian military planes flying in Syria as Russian aircraft increasingly fly near American planes, according to a U.S. official familiar with such incidents.

The pilots have been told to simply proceed with standard aviation safety procedures, a directive that comes as the U.S. hopes to complete by Tuesday a technical agreement with the Russians on how both nations’ air forces will fly safely and maintain contact with they come near each other.

Russian pilots over Syria on two recent occasions have flown very close to U.S. warplanes, according to the U.S. official.

The problem is the system. The lousy politicians are merely a product of it. A two party system more often than not must present stark contrast to appeal to the majority; uneducated party-line voters. There’s no room for nuance or new ways of thinking. Political parties are a lot like listening to NPR. They always go for the positive spin on incendiary polarizing topics. They had a Syrian refugee family in America story of course relaying how great it is… for everyone. NPR would never even consider relaying a story about the downsides or countervailing opinion. They are trapped in a system where they are now forced to be closed-minded in their own special way. There is no objectivity. Stories must always be approached from a certain angle. Same with parties. There is no wiggle room, depending where you are jebus is all right, trannies are all right, and money, money, money donations are always right.

this is a negative, cynical analysis typical of Kunstler, everything is doomsday. For once we have a smart candidate with good ideas on how to make the country more equitable and a better place to be for everybody in Bernie Sanders , that is certainly a step in the right direction. To compare the democratic candidates to the republican ones is ridiculous, it isn’t even close as to sanity and brain power. If either party will implode it will be the republicans. Im not a Hillary fan and she couldn’t get a health care deal started as first lady, but she is brighter than any of the republicans running with better ideas and at least that is a start.

    • Frankiti October 20, 2015 at 8:41 pm #

How can the analysis not be? Bernie Sanders is a congenital wimp who does a whole lot of shouting at bogeymen, the “they” out there, and no pushing of the real enemy. He makes everything better by making everything free. After Hillary mopped the floor with him he was out there offering an olive branch. He would get steamrolled on the foreign stage and by our own money thirsty war machine.

Hillary is all about Hillary at any and all costs. She has a sham marriage and a sham platform. She’s hollow. She’s a slave to polling metrics. She’s the physical embodiment or run-away ambition and the obvious product of a father who really wanted a first born son.

The essence of the current conflict: Obama and his entourage systematically torpedoes attempts to aggravate relations with Russia to the level of armed conflict, while the Republicans, the radical Democrats, the leadership of the Pentagon and the CIA are eager for a fight.

It is significant to list those who from 2012 promoted the idea of arming the Syrian insurgents: Hillary Clinton, Leon Panetta, David Petraeus and John Brennan. It is worth noting that Obama was surrounded by insane hawks in high positions: Clinton was the head of the State Department, Leon Panetta was first head of the CIA, then the head of the Pentagon, David Petraeus was head of the CIA, and John Brennan is the current head of the CIA. During his presidency, Obama has done enormous work on uprooting insane from high offices, only this was done with mixed success. Removing insane Hillary Clinton as head of the State Department was a huge success, and it was possible to replace her with sane Kerry.

If the scandal involving the storage of classified State Department documents on a personal server of the Clinton family will be brought to the end, and will be finally proved her participation in an illegal supply of weapons to the Syrian rebels, the “insane” would have to find a new candidate for the presidential race.

Insane hawk Joe Biden is already warming up “on the edge”, on the Republican side there is a waiting list of candidates who want to wave the military baton “to the glory of America”. Fortunately, across the road to the presidency of Republican hawks is still standing barrier named Donald Trump, whose program is a nightmare for the insane part of the American elite.

We live in an interesting and frightening times when the future of the planet depends on both the actions of the Russian and American Presidents, and the success of ordinary Syrian infantrymen at Aleppo, and on how successful can a group of US politicians protect American “red button” of those for whom global war of all against all is the only possible response to the birth of a world in which America is no longer the “number one”.

Back during the era that included the Cuban missile crisis, my dad was stationed at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center at Ft. Hollibird in Baltimore, MD. Sometimes he would visit Ft. Meade and take me along. He made me laugh by calling it Fort Meathead. He was an old school trooper, having joined back in the mid-thirties. Leonid Savin: Migration crisis: the force of Nature or Strategic Weapon?

What we see now – is the practical implementation of the theoretical development of a strategic nature. Such strategies are developed for a long time. One is a study of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University, which also bears the name used by the author for the title of the article – “Strategic Engineered Migration as a Weapon of War”. The study was first published in March 2008 in the Journal of Civil Wars. The author of this work, Kelly Greenhill, using a combination of statistical analysis and case studies, gave answers to the questions: whether refugees could be used as a special kind of weapon, whether it is possible to use these weapons not only in war but also in peacetime, and how successful can be its application. In general, to all these questions Greenhill responded positively.

By the way, the staff of the Belfer Center, as well as other departments at Harvard University, for many years engaged in designing strategies for conflict management in the context of a broader foreign policy issues. Director of the Belfer Center Graham Allison is a former assistant secretary of defense in the Clinton administration. In addition, the Centre also funds research Special Operations Working Group, which deals with Russia.

The National Interest: Not So Scary: This Is Why Russia’s Military Is a Paper Tiger

While Moscow’s military adventure in Syria shows that its forces have improved markedly since their near collapse in the mid-1990s, Russian military forces still have many weaknesses.

While select portions of the Russian military—most notably the Strategic Missile Forces, airborne forces and naval infantry—have been extensively modernized, other forces still rely on ill trained conscripts and dilapidated hardware held over from the Soviet-era. In other words, Russia’s military modernization has been uneven at best.

A Very Heavy Agenda Part 1 : A Catalyzing Event

The above line refers to the title of an interesting newly released documentary on the history of the neocon movement and explaining how the neocons have now taken over the formulation of US foreign policy in both Democratic and Republican administrations.

The neocons’ overarching ambition was to ensure after the collapse of the USSR that the new uni-polar world remained uni-polar with the USA as the unchallenged king of the castle in perpetuity. Inherent in this concept was the idea the no other country or alliance could be allowed to ever reach the point where it could economically or militarily challenge the USA’s overall supremacy.

The documentary is to be released in 3 parts and part 1 is now available for download or on DVD. Here’s the blurb about part 1:

Post-9/11, the War on Terror had outlived its usefulness.
The minds behind the think tanks that drive America’s interventionist foreign policy decided that the U.S. needed a new enemy, so they chose an old one — Russia.

    Part 1: A Catalyzing Event 1hr 25mins

Cheney, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld were ubiquitous in the news media as they took every available opportunity to market to America an aggressive preemptive war policy. But from where did their ideas originate? The answer is a tightly knit and eminently well placed group of neoconservative thought leaders, chief among them Bill Kristol and Robert Kagan. Part 1 begins in the panicked weeks after 9/11, as Kagan et al. seized upon the hysteria surrounding the anthrax letter attacks to further shape America’s perception of reality, planting the seeds for endless future military engagements. George W. Bush may have been understandably perceived as an idiot, but watching these wonks and academics drive the ideological engine for his administration belies a much more sophisticated strategy at play.

(NB: the anthrax attacks mentioned above we now know were beyond reasonable doubt a false flag attack because the envelopes carrying the anthrax contained letters with wording designed to look like they came from Muslim extremists while the anthrax in the envelopes was later discovered to originate in a highly secure, high-tech, US lab which did work for the US military and defense agencies. /my comment PP)

If you go to this vimeo link you can view a short preview of the documentary: https://vimeo.com/140415359

Note that in the first minute or so there is an episode of loud swearing, so if viewing adjust your volume according to your surroundings.

Today we are witnessing a very interesting process, the outcome of which, in a very real sense, will determine the future of our planet. It so happened that our American opponents have a pretty impressive arsenal of nuclear weapons and “financial weapons” and the current serious problems of the United States are a very tempting reason to use these weapons in the framework of geopolitical competition.

Once again it must be emphasized that in this story there is no “good” or “bad.” But there are “sane bad” and “insane bad.” With sane we can and even must agree on how we can co-exist on the same globe.

With insane agreement is practically impossible.

The dividing line between the sane and the insane part of the American elite passes through the answer to the single question: what to do if the United States can no longer hold planetary hegemony?

The sane part of American Elite offer to bargain with the other geopolitical players and to negotiate the most favorable conditions to regroup and prepare for the next attempt to seize control of the world.

The insane part of US Elite act on the principle “so nobody will have you” and it is scary to imagine what they can do to the planet, if they come to a final conclusion that it is impossible to retain hegemony.

To illustrate the thesis of the presence in the US elite of absolutely insane characters just look at John McCain. He is not the only one, he is just “old grandfather, who does not care anymore”, and i.e. for Senator McCain is no point pretending to be normal.

The intensity of the confrontation between elite groups in the United States can be measured indirectly. When everything is more or less calm, the inter-clan dog fights are “under the carpet”, and competing elite factions always put US interests above personal accounts or gaining political points.

But at key moments when on the result of the confrontation of elites depends the road on which the country will go in the future, national interests are sacrificed on the altar of victory in the elite wars.

The brightest and freshest example – is the position of Hillary Clinton (the public leader of the “insane”) on the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
The signing of the trade pact is an objective victory for Washington in the Asian front.

This victory is especially valuable against the backdrop of the recent defections of Pacific vassals of Washington, which joined the Chinese Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. It would seem, in the name of national interests of the United States, even those who hate Obama administration should applaud it.

It turned out the opposite. Hillary Clinton sharply criticized Trans-Pacific Partnership and this despite the fact that in the past she 25 (!) times publicly expressed her support, and even called it the “gold standard of trade agreements”.

When the desire to harm the domestic political opponent prevails over the desire to promote national interests, this means that elite started the civil war.

Many of the actions of various US agencies become clear only when viewed in the context of all-out war between the various elite groups.

For example, the leaks to official American press of complete failure of the training and financing of the so-called “moderate Syrian opposition”? Is Obama’s administration consists of masochists? Does the White House get pleasure when the whole world is laughing at the Pentagon, and Putin publicly dunks Americans in this epic failure?

Then why do it? Within the logic of civil war in the political elite of the United States everything becomes crystal clear.

Brzezinski, Clinton, McCain and other “insane” publicly demand that the Obama administration introduce a no-fly zone over Syria to protect “US assets”, ie militants, in which billions of dollars have been invested. The calculation is clear: Obama or group must either show to the undecided voters that it is unable to protect the interests of the United States, or Obama should take the risk of a military confrontation with Russia in Syria.

The PR department of sane part of the American elite came up with a brilliant countermove. They made a single “leak” to the media that only 5 members of “moderate militants” in Syria were trained; they put the “dogs of war” in an awkward position. Now they must either stop demanding the introduction of the American no-fly zone, or should openly admit that they require the White House to protect Islamic State.

The situation is tense to the point that the details of intra-elite backstabbing actively get into the media. Anyone who wants to feel the passions should read the inside of the White House political kitchen published with delightful frankness by Politico:

The lights are going out all over Europe. They will not be lit again in our lifetime. And most people are fine with it if they even know about it. People wonder how terrible things happened in the past. This is how. The 21st Century is shaping up to be even more bloody than the 20th. Anyone want to be against our first nuclear World War?

The New Yorker had an interesting article by Malcolm Gladwell on school shootings where he likened them to what happens in a riot.

Gladwell’s idea is that school shootings are like a slow moving riot, where looters serve as the example for bystanders. Similarly each shooting serves as the example for the next shooters, Gladwell citing what shooters themselves had to say.

To me, it’s like these shootings pop up like bubbles in a pot of water on the stove. As the water heats you get one bubble, then another, then, at some point, the whole pot erupts into a rolling boil.

Like Kunstler says, anything goes and nothing matters. Anything goes because that’s what great intellectuals tell us. In a word, per the Kardashian Movement: whatever. No shame, no embarrassment. The tall foreheads say there’s no real truth, there’s no real right and wrong. The great ones sneer at religious codes of conduct, they say in learned discourses that it all depends, that it’s all relative to where you stand. Inevitably, the line of thinking filters down, and so, at the outer edges, what goes is mass murder.

At the other end of the spectrum you have the delusions of “safe space” ninnies and the “micro aggression” police, always on the look-out and ever-ready to suffer offence at nothing. How do these frail people, shatter-able at a glance, with their conjured and imaginary harm, deal with the reality of the bubbling cauldron and it’s random mayhem of mass shootings. I suspect that the safe-space-micro-aggression mind-set won’t be around for long.

In The Martian, which I saw last week with my wife, Matt Damon (white) plays the hero. Jeff Daniels (white) plays the Director of NASA. A black actor (name?) of Nigerian descent plays the Director of the Mars mission in which Matt Damon’s character becomes stranded as his cohorts are forced to take off without him.

A young black geek (NASA employee) is the one who comes up with a plan to save Damon while all the other (mostly white) scientists were stumped.

Of the (5-6 “man”) crew on the Mars mission there are 2 women, one of whom is the Commander. Of the men, one is Hispanic.

When I took note of this politically correct casting I immediately thought of Janos.

USA suggested that Russian pilots in Syria speak English

US are counting that the Russian pilots involved in the operation in Syria, will speak English. On this insisted White House spokesman Josh Ernest.

If the Russian pilots would communicate in English, their actions would conform to “international safety regulations,” said Ernest. In addition, in his opinion, such a practice would help to avoid “accidents” in the skies over Syria.

Only a buffoon would argue otherwise– “Citizens United” anyone–and please don’t tell me you have renamed yourself Banjo Boy Skorenzy in honor of analytical stupidity.

More and more, people realize the ‘different brand, same tooth paste’ meme is nothing but right wing propaganda/hyperbole to discourage and demoralize voters who would otherwise vote in their own, ‘Main Street’ economic best interest: Vote Democrat, in other words. Because the only way the GOP wins is with an apathetic, low turnout electorate who have swallowed ‘no difference between the parties’ GOP jism juice. But with the INEVITABLE demographic shift that will leave the U.S. increasingly reflective of California even diabolical propaganda will not save the Party of the Mastodon.

One enormous contribution Bernie Sanders has made to American political debate is fundamental contra-distinction between D and R. And to get even more fundamental/primal, you espouse the ‘unjust’ argument of Thrasymachus in Plato’s Republic. But the ‘unjust’ argument was wrong then and it’s wrong now and you WILL lose.

Dmitriy Sedov: The principle of Cadet Biegler

“The idiocy of Cadet Biegler was so obvious – we read in Jaroslav Hasek in his immortal” The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schweik “- that there was no doubt that he would brilliantly graduate from the Military Academy and make an excellent addition to the Austrian army.”

When Hasek wrote these the source of manpower under the Habsburgs was a military academy in Vienna. Biegler principle states that they always wanted candidates that are ready in any situation think less and kill more.

After a hundred years, the best in the United States Academy at West Point takes the cake in training such personnel. In recent years, the ability of American strategists to lose battles in the most hopeless for the enemy situations is absolutely phenomenal.

US military statistics is modestly silent of the fact that for 13 years of occupation of Afghanistan, US forces have not carried out any successful operation against the “Taliban.” Unless, of course, you count bombed mosques, hospitals and wedding processions.

But actions by the American-hammered together anti-ISIS coalition in Iraq – is simply a textbook example of how not to fight.

US and its allies made over 6000 (!) Sorties while allowing terrorists in Iraq seize new territory. This sample of unique military strategy undoubtedly will be studied by military historians, but that fact does not help Iraq much.

The Iraqi Prime Minister is thinking that the US Bieglers put an end to his hopes to win over “Islamic state”, which grabbed a good third of the territory of Iraq’s oil fields. The Americans do not want this victory, and will not let Russia to have it.

After learning about the requirements of John Allen to the Prime Minister not to seek Russian help, commander of the volunteer forces of the Iraqi army Hassan al-Sari said that the Iraqi military welcome Russia’s support in the fight against the terrorist group.

That commander can be understood. Unlike Biegler from West Point, he is fighting with the IS on the ground, sees the success of the actions of the Russian aircraft in neighboring Syria and wants the same at home. He did not study at West Point and does not know that the outcome of wars is determined not on the battlefields but in another places, where everyone gets their share of the war profits. At the same time, the dumber a military leader, the more he gets. This is also the principle of Cadet Biegler.

And are you one who doesn’t think it matters – after all I’ve written? It would explain MUCH. As to whether it’s true: there is some evidence, but nothing conclusive yet. That’s why I haven’t posted it and wont now.

I trust you wont deny that she hates Germany and the Germany people. So what do you think is behind this hatred? She just got very angry at Bibi for saying Hitler was just following the Mufti’s orders. She said NO, Germans are fully responsible for the deaths of six million Jews. There ya go. The whole thing is political idiocy and always has been – as is the idea of Hitler bowing to a Muslim. Bibs is obviously trying to court favor with Whites now that he is on the losing side in Syria.

    Alexander Brodsky: The Biden Demarche

Today, Hillary Clinton goes to a congressional committee investigating the assassination of US Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi and will testify under oath. Everyone is waiting that Gowdi will show his trump card and will put the old woman in jail, or not show and then Bastinda becomes unstoppable.

Personally, I do not expect any of either, unless pathological liar does not lie about something under oath, but in place of Gowdi I would hold back the cards, because the time is not the best now.

Hillary has achieved this position that her nomination by the Democratic Party seems almost inevitable, and no ace in the hole at the Gowdi disposal can change that. And from this point of view it is much more important news is the refusal of Biden to compete with Bastinda and the words that he said, announcing it.

The fact that the farewell Biden’s speech has been solid stone throwing in the direction of Hillary Clinton and showed that Bastinda cannot control the establishment of Democratic Party. To begin with, in his speech on this occasion, he said that the Democratic candidate has to build on the achievements of President Obama, and secondly, that he cannot be considered enemy of the Republicans.

And if the first stone in her garden has recalled a year ago, when Hillary Clinton during the campaign convinced a lot of Democrats of the need to distance themselves from Obama (resulting in the Democrats losing their majority in Congress), the second stone recalled how she during a televised debate called Republicans the enemies, and believe me the last paid attention to it (in the United States still remember all too well what being an enemy of the First Lady, Hillary Clinton, means)

But the most important thing is the timing that he chose for this demarche – a day before the visit of Hillary to congressional committee to investigate the incident in Benghazi. The fact is that leading commentators have concluded that he is waiting for it to assess his chances to successfully compete with Bastinda after the head of the Commission pull his trump card, and now he has shown that his decision is of fundamental importance and establishment of the Democrats will have to look for a candidate who will lose to Trump, Bush or Carson after Hillary will be arrested and removed from the elections.

Biden really was strongly influenced by agonizing death of his son, and he repented of what he had done in Ukraine. In particular, he does not understand how after that he would negotiate with Putin, if he will still be elected president, (and this is very likely if Hillary disappear from the political proscenium), especially if you remember he gave a personal guarantee to President Medvedev, urging him not use the veto to block the UN Security Council no-fly zone in Libya.

Moreover, he claims that Hillary Clinton deceived Biden in that respect, convinced him to give personal guarantees to Medvedev as all accustomed that states deceive each other all times, but a personal guarantee still considered being the last reserve of mutual trust. And now he recalled this to establishment when they urged him to be a candidate if Gowdi will remove Hillary from the elections.

Jimmy Carter Offers Help for Russia’s Bombing Campaign in Syria

Former President Jimmy Carter said recently that he provided maps of Islamic State positions in Syria to the Russian embassy in Washington, a move apparently at odds with the Obama administration’s official policy of not cooperating with Russia in the Syrian war.

And she is the daughter of a very high East German Communist official – that itself is pretty damning. – Janos

    ==================

    Not necessarily.

My grandfather, father, and brother all have the same name with the middle name being Marx. What does this say about me?

    • Janos Skorenzy October 22, 2015 at 3:47 pm #

Pretty damning in the sense that Communism is evil and an evil that Jews were a big part of. Take you pick.

Are you part Jewish? Or is Marx a German name that can be either German or German Jewish? I know that you are not a Marxist. What do you mean by middle name? Did your brother take Marx as his Confirmation name? That’s supposed to a first name. Or did your mother turn Protestant, divorce, and then marry a Marx? Help me understand!

I speculate that my great grand parents (who were German) when naming their son (my grand father) gave him the middle name Marx in honor of Karl Marx who was admired, rightly or wrongly, by many people, especially the common man. Marx’s death and my grand fathers birth were both in 1883. From then on the name just got handed down to my father, then brother. It had nothing to do with political or economic beliefs…at least I don’t recall any such conversation in my formative years. Ditto for Confirmation name.

If I have any Jewish blood in me someone had to have been diddling around on the side. These things happen. I think YOU should get a DNA test. God knows what they may find in there…maybe you’re related to Jay Z and Bernie Sanders. ;o)

    Hello Mr. Jim,

We can constitutionally “fix this” through a Constitutional Assembly, which hasn’t been seen in so many years that it’s a revolutionary act to talk about it because of the corrosive impact the two party system has had on the American polity.

Nobody on the top end gives a shit about Constitutional Assemblies. They want Power. I mean Power in the capital P. Power to invade other countries and influence the lives of others. It’s a terribly sick mindset.

The struggle that the American People, and I mean it in the capital P, is what John Locke described in his Three Treatises– the Government will regress back to the People, and the People have the power to recreate their Government.

Q.: Marx believed capitalist was a necessary stage in the evolution toward socialism. If there is no wealth creation, what is socialism to redistribute?

We have wealth and Bernie is ready to help with the redistribution. Obama is helping, too… he vetoed the $612 Billion NDAA. That NDAA amount of $612 Billion represents our wealth.

Bernie will help redistribute it away from defense projects and weapon systems even the DOD does not want… away from the pockets of defense contractors and their cost overruns and outright fraud and theft: the $436 hammer, the $600 toilet seat and $7,622 coffee brewer… instead redistributing it toward education, health, and jobs. Everything Bernie proposes is not “free stuff” … it is all paid for. We have to stop wasting our money on the corrupt military industrial complex.

Yeah, they’ll be flying into Paris soon, these luminaries, for the Big Global Warming Conference (Mark Twain, “Everybody complains about the weather, nobody does anything about it”. Well, these people are doing something about it!) on 777s, from points east, west, north and south, fully appointed 777s with all the amenities including an executive chef and who knows what else. (Scores of these aircraft lined up at Orly, topped off with jet fuel, ready for a quick junket to the gaming tables in Monaco or a ski adventure in Switzerland; why not? saving the world is hard work, these folks deserve a break, too. What, they can’t have any fun?) Just seeing these elitists flying in is interesting, a show in itself, the sleek, 50 ft. long Mercedes Limos, the uniformed drivers with white gloves, the star waving to the crowd as he enters the limo before being whisked away to the $10,000 per night hotel suite in the heart of Paris, like a Hollywood opening night; a nice dinner and washed down with bubbly awaits, maybe some female company, who knows? (this is, after all, Paris) before getting down to the serious business of cooling off planet earth. Question, in these elegant Parisian hotels, do the windows open? If so, can these gentlemen hear the call to prayer from hundreds of Mosques ringing Paris, those dismal suburbs where not even the French police dare enter, home of hundreds of thousands of unassimilated Muslims, and millions more on the way right now while they’re dining on venison and duck, none of whom give a sh-t in the least about their precious theories, accords, agreements and treaties?

The General Staff of the Russian Federation explained that the terrorists of Islamic State leaving eastward – to Turkey and Jordan.

Warlords of “Dzhabhat Al-Nusra” are hastily trying to move additional forces to the front line in Syria due to the desertion of ISIS militants.

According to the head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Andrey Kartapolov, terrorists abandon their positions and flee to Jordan and Turkey. He noted that the ISIS also trying to transfer troops from Iraq, despite heavy losses.
In turn, the individual field militant chiefs are trying to negotiate with government troops on private truce.

“Individual commanders are beginning to enter the unit of Syrian troops with proposals for private truces and negotiations”, – said Andrei Kartapolov.

One of the main reasons of Assad visit to Moscow was a proposal by Putin to start involving some part of Syrian armed opposition in the political process, under the conditions that they are ready to stop military hostilities.

BRH, are you saying that these exorbitantly rich people that you’re referring to couldn’t actually give a fuck about global warming? Really, are you saying that?

Are you maybe implying that the military and political institutions, that these same people manipulate for their own advantage, screwed up whole countries and created a torrent of refugees, mainly able-bodied young men?

Now, maybe I’m really over-interpreting, but maybe you’re saying that a certain percentage of these young refugee fellas are really aggrieved at what’s befallen their loved ones back home.

You know, what with this ISIS stuff that would never have come to pass without certain countries schmucking around in places where they had no business being.

Maybe some of these guys really do have bitter memories and they’re really not too discriminating in telling apart one western country from the other. Maybe all these infidels all look alike. Maybe, to these young chaps, this is all to the good, given that they’re looking to take it out on somebody.

Never mind the precious accords and theories and treaties, what about laws and customs and ways of life?

Now some of these young refugee guys are full to the brim with certitude. And what are they confronting? Aging and flaccid Europe.

Islam may be messed up and backwards and corrupt but it is young and angry and on the move. And Europe is old and right next door.

And where do these wealthy, jet-setting people that you’re talking about, think they’re going to hide? Maybe they’ll hide in North America. That will buy them SOME time. In China? Russia? Maybe, but for a very, very, very big, big, big price. See, they’ve foolishly set themselves in opposition to the regimes that run those places. And getting protection from guys like Putin and Xi Jin Ping, will be a very expensive proposition.

BRH, those rich guys you’re talking about always put in the fix to benefit themselves. They royally screwed up the Middle East, thinking that people there would do what they’re told, that things could be rigged, that the fix could be put in. But it couldn’t. There are things that cannot be fixed.

Europe should say bye-bye to wine and pork liver pate. These are haram. Or soon will be.

Sure there’ll be time for drinks and dinner with Al Gore at Cafe’ Duex, why not? That’s where everything will be decided. After that, who knows? Of course the Med coast is out this year, for obvious reasons. Maybe Hollywood, maybe back to the South Pacific. Or the Caribbean. Jet fuel is cheap right now, cheaper than it has been for years.

JHK said: Can’t Anyone Fix This? – Cold N. Holefield

    =============

I note that you and others are able to italicize your font. I use internet explorer which does not have that feature/ability here at CFN. What browser are you using that allows you to italicize? And what about bolding? Can you bold?

I feel I am commenting with one arm tied behind my back without these features needed for emphasis.

    • Cold N. Holefield October 23, 2015 at 5:09 pm #

It has nothing to do with your browser. It’s HTML code. For italics put what you want italicized between this code: For bold between this code: . Type the code, don’t copy and paste it. If you’re typing it, put the before your material you want italicized and then the after it. Same for bold.

  113. wpa_ccc October 23, 2015 at 5:10 pm #

Q: “I feel I am commenting with one arm tied behind my back without these features needed for emphasis.

    ========

Q, to make a word bold just put in front of the word and after the word, without any of the spaces I put after and before the brackets. Just type it all together without any spaces. The b is saying start bold. The /b is saying stop bold.

Give it a test to see if it works here for you. Your comments are a valuable part of CFN. Your emphasis & italics would be even more so.

    • wpa_ccc October 23, 2015 at 5:13 pm #

OK, using spaces did not work. The idea is to put a pointy bracket ( < ) before and after the b, then a pointy bracket before and after /b

On my keyboard the pointy bracket is on the period and comma keys, above the period and comma.

If my using the bracket above messes things up, I will not attempt to correct it.

        • Sean Coleman October 23, 2015 at 5:52 pm #

          Got something there.

I used , and to finish , and for the word test I used the words strong and /strong instead of em and /em, but it didn’t work. The brackets B didn’t work. Perhaps lower case is better.

          • Sean Coleman October 23, 2015 at 6:01 pm #

That left out some of what I wrote.

For italics, for me, it seems you use the pointy bracket as shown by wpa, then em, then the other pointy bracket pointing to the right, then the same again to close, but with a / (slash) before the em (that’s an ‘e’ and an ‘m’, everything together, unless that didn’t come out).

I had the second pointy bracket in my first test pointing the wrong way. Be careful which way you point them.

            https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/html-code-for-bold

So I got italics although I wanted bold.

            I hate computers.

    “Follow the money” –Cold

Bush’s donors are running the other way. Bush is shutting down his campaign in many parts of the USA. He is cutting back 45 percent of the Bush campaign budget.

I would say the money is scared, and is running away from Jeb. He has neither the money, nor the votes.

Voters hungry for change will not choose a man whose father and brother both served as president. Bush has little chance of being elected.

On the other hand, the Republican eleven-hour inquisition yesterday has given Hillary more support from moderate Republicans, more support from independents, more support from young voters, more money from donors, and even more support from those who are feeling the Bern… The Republican Select Committee is helping Hillary big time and her increased poll numbers reflect voter disgust with the Republican misuse of taxpayer money to play and fail at gotcha’ politics.

Umm, Trump is falling behind. Carson has surged ahead of Trump in Iowa. Can Ben Carson fix this? Here are some Carson quotes:

    1. “You know Obamacare is really I think the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery. And it is in a way, it is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.” – 2013 at the Values Voter Summit

    2. “Well, my thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality. It doesn’t matter what they are. They don’t get to change the definition.” – 2013 on Fox News’ Hannity

    3. “There comes a time when people with values simply have to stand up. Think about Nazi Germany. Most of those people did not believe in what Hitler was doing. But did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you saw what happened.” – Carson comparing Democrats and those who voted for President Obama to Nazis.

    4. “Because 9/11 is an isolated incident. Things that are isolated issues as opposed to things that fundamentally change the United Sates of America and shift power from the people to the government. That is a huge shift. You have to take a long-term look at something that fundamentally changes the power structure of America.” – Carson claiming that “Obamacare” is worse than 9/11

    5. “A lot of people who go into prison straight, and when they come out they’re gay.” – CNN interview on March 4, 2015

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellamy_salute

The author of the pledge of allegiance was a Christian National Socialist. And the original salute used was the Roman or “Nazi” salute.

National Socialism is as American as apple pie. The yokels and the half misundereducated (Buck, Zone, Hump, etc) allowed the Jews and economic Oligarchs to turn America upside down.

    • Buck Stud October 23, 2015 at 11:32 pm #

According to the link you provided Bellamy was a “Christian Socialist”. No mention is made of “Christian National Socialist:

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_socialism

You maybe be right–am I really discussing The Bellamy Salute on a Friday night–but you have an extraordinary way of ‘projecting meaning’ on and over the words that are actually typed.

      • Buck Stud October 24, 2015 at 12:17 am #

Furthermore from the link Janos provided:

” At the words, “to my Flag,” the right hand is extended gracefully, palm upward, toward the Flag, and remains in this gesture till the end of the affirmation; whereupon all hands immediately drop to the side.”

But when you look at the images of the people doing the Bellamy salute, their palms are turned downward? Obviously, or at least according to the above instructions, they are doing the Bellamy salute incorrectly.

But why would a up or down palm position really matter? Because one, palm facing upward, is a passive, accepting gesture. “Yin”, in other words. The other, palm facing downward is a masculine, declarative gesture.”Yang”. Indeed, a Nazi gesture.

To my eyes, your Bellamy link only creates more questions than answers and it doesn’t seem–so far at least–to be in tune with your ideology, especially the Christian Socialism aspect.

        • Janos Skorenzy October 24, 2015 at 2:14 am #

You are right – it doesn’t seem to be the Roman Salute. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t a National Socialist – even if I was wrong about the Roman Salute, I never said he was a German National Socialist or as you say a “Nazi”.

He was on the right track in other ways, despite the wimpy salute.

On immigration and universal suffrage, Bellamy wrote: “[a] democracy like ours cannot afford to throw itself open to the world where every man is a lawmaker, every dull-witted or fanatical immigrant admitted to our citizenship is a bane to the commonwealth.”[6] And further: “Where all classes of society merge insensibly into one another every alien immigrant of inferior race may bring corruption to the stock. There are races more or less akin to our own whom we may admit freely and get nothing but advantage by the infusion of their wholesome blood. But there are other races, which we cannot assimilate without lowering our racial standard, which we should be as sacred to us as the sanctity of our homes.”[9]

          References[edit]

      • Janos Skorenzy October 24, 2015 at 1:31 am #

Of course he was a National Socialist. You can’t be a Christian Marxist. But thanks for picking up on that. You’re learning, even if against your will.

I grant you that since Christianity is universal, many have confused it with Marxist Internationalism. And now Christian Universalism is mixed up with all kinds Capitalist Universalism, which is also alien to genuine Christianity. It’s all most unfortunate and confusing to the average person.

        • UntoDust October 24, 2015 at 2:58 am #

It is interesting that you acknowledge that Christianity is universal, Janos. In reading some of your posts it seems that you may also believe that some races are somehow superior to others or that God does not intend for all His people to be together as one body. I would like to gently remind you that Almighty God is the God of all people. He has formed us all of one man, made in His image.

“From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us.” Acts 17:26-27

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:4-5

I think I can understand something of the anger that you seem to be feeling. Far too many in this nation are being ruthlessly bled dry by those at the top. It is right to be angry about this. But do not in your anger make the mistake of losing sight of God’s will. Do not give in to racial hatred. If that has entered your heart, then replace it with God’s Word. In that way you can never go wrong.

Ah but do not forget the Tower of Babel where He separated all Men – a permanent rebuke to those who would “build a Tower unto Heaven”. Surely our own Nimrods are trying to usher in the Kingdom Age on their own power without God.

And Jesus said “Go” – not bring them in. I love how Ministers and Priests quote “Be kind to the STRANGER” – as if we’re talking about one or two. Isn’t the swarm of locusts more like it?

Speaking of the Old Testament – it’s all about Race. If we stick to the teaching of Jesus alone – we’re toast. Simple as that. We need teachings about fertility, property, war, and of course Race. Forgetest thou Phineas who pinned a inappropriate couple to the ground with his spear? Or Ezra who broke up marriages between Jew and Alien? As the new Chosen People we must do no less!

I’m raving, but I’m right in the main however wrong in the ugly details. Europe is dying. Our Race is dying and Christians sleep on – when they aren’t helping it all along or celebrating our demise. The Black is our new God, an apt symbol of the Nature. He never left so he is our superior you see.

As the Sufis say, Christ taught the way to Heaven, but Mohammad taught the way in both worlds. In other word, LOTS of teaching about War, Sex, Property, etc. And yes, it’s sometimes ugly and alien. We can do better and the Old Testament is somewhat better. If we added the perspective of the New Testament it could be far better.

Failing that, then let us return unto the Religions of our Fathers. A young Swede shish kebabed a few Muslims with his sword in Sweden. The Police shot him down – no attempt to take him alive apparently. Who can say? Perhaps Valhalla has received a new warrior. Pagan savagery? Sure, but for my money real Christians would have begun a Revolution both here and in Europe generations ago. It should have never come to this. The Old Christians were often greater warriors than the Pagans.

          • Janos Skorenzy October 24, 2015 at 5:28 am #

The races are obviously unequal. If the Scriptures say they are, they are wrong. But they don’t, only the wishy washy Churches say so. Who cares what they say? You want us to love the darkling? Sure as Albert Schweitzer said, as his big brother, in his own land. Schweitzer, the darling of his day, was excommunicated from the Church of Liberalism for telling the truth about Blacks. How would he know, I mean he only served them as a doctor for decades in Africa, giving up his life as a Renaissance Man in Europe to – both a Concert Pianist and a Kantian Scholar. That’s almost like saying James Watson knows anything about the genetic code.

He warned other missionaries: do not treat the Black as an equal. You will lose their respect and they will destroy your work.

          • UntoDust October 24, 2015 at 2:44 pm #

Janos, when you write that “If we stick to the teaching of Jesus alone – we’re toast.” I have to question if you have fully accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior. Please pray on this with an open heart that God can show you that this idea is not true, and that Jesus is the ONLY door to salvation. Ask Him and He will show you. Please remember that Jesus Christ, through the sacred mystery of the Trinity, is and always was in perfect unity with God the Father.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” John 1:1-2

“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

I can appreciate your anger at Muslims who are now crossing into Europe and demanding that Christians save them from the savagery of Islam. It is indeed much to stomach. I think many of us feel that we should certainly save our Syrian brothers and sisters in Christ, and perhaps even the Yazidi who seem to be a decent people. Our doors should be opened to them. But it is hard to imagine opening our gates to those who believe we all must submit to their false religion or die and with whom death and destruction always seems to follow. I too ask myself what are we to do. Ultimately, I believe that we must offer them what Christian charity we can. That does not mean we must allow them free roam of our lands to kill, rape, maim, and otherwise sow discord and chaos. They can be kept in well regulated and guarded refugee camps. They will be required to behave in an orderly and civil manner, and they will be further required to work to maintain their own camps and living quarters and prepare their own food. Those who will not work will not eat. When they can be safely returned to their homelands they will be. If they can be transferred into the custody of a Muslim state (where are the Gulf nations to save their Muslim brothers?), then they should be.

You are right in that the Old Testament was much about race. The Jews were indeed God’s chosen people, and the vehicle through which He redeemed all mankind. But the covenant of Abraham has been forever replaced by the new and everlasting covenant of Jesus Christ. There is no longer any chosen people. God has made it unmistakable that His new covenant extends to all the people’s of the earth. It is too long to quote in its entirety here, but read about St. Peter’s dream on the roof in Joppa and the revelation God gave to him (Acts 10).

“While talking with him, Peter went inside and found a large gathering of people. He said to them: ‘You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.” Acts 10:27-28

“Then Peter began to speak: ‘I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism, but accepts from every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right.” Acts 10:34-35

This is not wishy washy, Janos, and it is not the teaching of any man. This is God’s infallible Word. Please spend some time praying and reflecting on this. St. Peter once believe as you do that not all races are equal and that God still favored one race over another. God set him straight. So, you are in good company with one of the greatest of saints, but listen to God as Peter did.

You are a bright man, Janos. God has blessed you with a keen mind, but do not be deceived by the devil into forsaking God’s Word. Use your talents for the glory of God’s Kingdom. Let go of this racism, and stand fearlessly in God’s Truth.

HENRY A. KISSINGER: The U.S. must decide for itself the role it will play in the 21st century; the Middle East will be our most immediate—and perhaps most severe—test. At question is not the strength of American arms but rather American resolve in understanding and mastering a new world.

The conflicting trends, compounded by America’s retreat from the region, have enabled Russia to engage in military operations deep in the Middle East, a deployment unprecedented in Russian history. Russia’s principal concern is that the Assad regime’s collapse could reproduce the chaos of Libya, bring ISIS into power in Damascus, and turn all of Syria into a haven for terrorist operations, reaching into Muslim regions inside Russia’s southern border in the Caucasus and elsewhere.

    Putin Valdai Speech

Putin once again outlined the main value of the ideology that Russia offers to the world. There is zero Messianism in it. It is not necessary to promote it, because it is natural. This ideology does not need political instructors and PR. There are no promises of a bright future and recipes of it achievement, as well as it contains no requirements except one: the freedom for each country to choose its own path of civilizational development, without external dictatorship and violence.

Against the background of the tiresome ideas about American exclusive right to impose all its political, economic and cultural standards and values, the Russian commitment to freedom looks fresh and even revolutionary. A bright future seems different to all, but the freedom from external intervention – is a very clear and absolutely universal value that can unite and already integrates many different countries, regimes and nations.

In this context, Putin’s statement about the unwillingness of Russia “to democratize the United States” – although there are reasons for it – looks not as trolling, but as a manifestation of the principles. Putin shows that the words of non-interference – is not an empty phrase, not a diplomatic ploy and not an element of double standards.

In terms of the art of diplomacy, Putin is the lucky one. Rarely a world leader is able to use truth as a weapon. The Anglo-Saxon world is so much entangled in their own lies, that an effective public discredit requires nothing but the truth.

The Russian leader is in a position in which he can afford the luxury to speak this truth. It is simply impossible to spoil relations with insane part of the American establishment even more, so you can tell the public about how the US supports terrorists, maltreats European vassals and lie about the European missile defense. “The king has no clothes!” the Russian president said, hinting transparently that gone mad “Uncle Sam” has lost its crown.

“In terms of the art of diplomacy, Putin is the lucky one. Rarely a world leader is able to use truth as a weapon. ”

Whenever I read someday cite “The Truth” I know I’m reading a nincompoop or a blind man. Or perhaps “facets” and “color” don’t exist Russia, land of the flat black and white–I doubt that.

In fact, I only need to recall the news paper articles a former Russian mentor of mine used to share with me. These articles were from underground writers who had witnessed first hand the brutality of the ‘peaceful ones’ back in benevolent Father Russia. For example, how an entire apartment building in Moscow was fire-razed because the occupants would not accept the ridiculously low-ball offer from developers backed by “Father Benevolent”. Tragically, and brutally, the fire was set with occupants in the building. Needless to say, the peaceful, ‘non-interfering’ ones had their way at the end of the day.

My source–mentor– was no propaganda troll like you Ivan. He lived in Moscow as a five year old during WW2. He told me of all the trees , wood etc, that were used as a heat source and how bereft of landscaping the city was during the war. And rats as meals.. He mentioned that Stalin’s daughter attended the Art Institute in Moscow and arrived by limousine. He also lamented that some of his best works were left behind in the Ministry of Culture and now undoubtedly owned by scurrilous types.

If Ivan the Finc Troll, would have come around his kitchen/conversation table spouting his propaganda bullshit like he does here on CFN, he would have had his ass kicked. And make no mistake, what you spout is bullshit if even a speckle of “truth’ reveals itself when viewed from the odd angle every now and then.

What’s more interesting and curious to me is not the ludicrous ramblings of some goofy troll, but why the JHK and PCR types have swallowed, hook, line and sinker, the Saint Putin myth without first viewing the bullshit from a more revealing angle?

“For example, how an entire apartment building in Moscow was fire-razed because the occupants would not accept the ridiculously low-ball offer from developers backed by “Father Benevolent”.” == Buck

Buck, are you sure you got your facts straight? During the Soviet era there were no apartment buildings in private property – all of them were state-owned. Single-family houses however were in private property.

I am afraid your mentor was slightly exaggerating.

Anyway, I am not saying that Russia was or is a “worker’s paradise”, far from it and I could probably name some very bad, but real examples of Russian life.

But all I am saying that it is Russian problem, and Americans have no business telling Russia how to run its affairs, as well as Russia has no business doing same to America.

It’s called the principle of “not interference in each other affairs”, or “peaceful coexistence”.

Anyway, I hope I did not convince to vote for Hillary.

We here in Ft. Meade have access to the medical records of almost everyone, and can verify that the medical and mental problems of pols like both Clintons and McCain are directly related to the many venereal diseases they have contracted, which radically compromise the immune system and even attack bodily organs, mainly the liver but also the brain. Syphilis, the great imposter, initially results in a burst of energy and creativity (Beethoven, Nietzsche, Cortes, Lincoln, Tolstoy, Gauguin, Napolean, etc etc) but eventually degrades and finally destroys the host. Volodya, it does not work that way. She is being more spontaneous because she is more relaxed and is laughing more. Nothing planned about it. If she “planned” it, then she would look wooden and the plan would backfire. Hillary is gaining support on many fronts because she is simply being authentic. She does better in policy meetings and public hearings than she does kissing babies at the state fair. Policy is the job of the president, not kissing babies. Hillary is prepared to be the Commander in Chief. As a side benefit we get Bill as the First Husband.

      • Janos Skorenzy October 24, 2015 at 4:46 pm #

I’ve left the Church because Bergoglio is a Madman and/or a Devil. He’s not Christian much less Catholic. But yesterday I sat in an empty Church and felt the love of God most profoundly. The Silence was pregnant with meaning and the Presence very near. Indeed, where the Body is, there the Eagles shall be. Christ has consented to stay in the Tabernacle despite the outrages. Therefore the Satanists seek the path of sacrilege – to get the people to commune unworthily. Remember your St Paul, O Protestant, if you don’t understand my words.

Read a great article by a Prison Chaplin. He came to realize over the years that much of his flock was just using the services as another “high”. In other words, many of the “devout” kept drugging, assaulting and raping. In Africa, the Church is plagued by child “witches”. Such witches have to be tormented and beaten in order to make the evil spirits leave. George Bernard Shaw said it best, “The conversion of Savages to Christianity is the conversion of Christianity to savagery.” Now that such Christians are here, we will we see more of it. They found one Black kid in London moaning for help – he had been beaten so badly he had no eyes anymore. And last week some White savages beat two young men, one to death for being impure. This degree of savagery is thankfully rare among us – but not so among the Black Africans. Black American Christians seem pretty easy going – lots of sex and financial chicanery only along with demonizing the White Man. Pretty innocuous stuff!

By all means let Missionaries go out – specially dedicated and consecrated men. But when the population of 3rd worlders booms because of their medical care, let them NOT agitate about how we should take them in. Those societies must find their own balance – or face the penalty Nature imposes when population exceeds carrying capacity. It’s a dangerous job – many Missionaries ended up in the Cannibal pot – no seriously. Anthropology was taken over by the Jews generations ago and they’ve hidden how widespread it was.

Two hellacious house fires in Hartford last night at the same time, straining the resources of the city FD — both fires under investigation, most likely arson, a favorite revenge tactic now that guns are harder to get. It was the familiar scene, families spilling out onto the streets (women and kids, no men), wrapped in blankets, standing on wet pavement in the middle of the night, the flashing lights of the emergency vehicles illuminating their anxious faces, in this Third World Sanctuary City.

It remains a mystery to me; how is it that a city that produced Frederick Law Olmsted, where the jet engine was invented, the birthplace of the insurance industry and the American System of Manufacturing, in just two generations, descended from a small prosperous New England city into a dismal welfare colony where every kid in the city qualifies for free breakfast, lunch and dinner, the main economic activity is illegal trade in foodstamps, heroin, and prostitution, and English is a second, or even a third language? I wonder if the Yankees would have worked so hard to create institutions like The American School for the Deaf, Hartford Hospital, Wadsworth Atheneum, Trinity College (now cut off and surrounded by a ghetto. They make the best of it, good superlibs that they are) the beautiful parks … if they had known what the fate of the city would be? But how could anybody have predicted this?

The problem with these house fires in cities like Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven and Waterbury is that it seems like its almost always the result of the crime of arson. Can you imagine, setting a house full of people afire, at night when everybody is sleeping … its a different mentality, a 3rd world mentality where life is cheap, and basic decency is nonexistent.

Now its here, and we’re part of the 3rd world, just a few miles east, down the road a bit.

Something else. Its not like when a farmhouse burns or is destroyed and a single family is displaced. No, these people are packed in like sardines, dozens in a single unit, with no resources whatsoever, hundreds in a building. The state govt. has to put them up, usually in shabby motels north and south of the city, where they stay for months, even years.

Its just chaos down there, unspeakable human tragedies reported every single day, it wears you down after awhile. And like JHK says, the local media reports each event like its something new or uniquewith no sense of history, instead of just a way of life, business as usual, the way things are now, and will be into the future, only worse.

According to the Austrian newspaper “Wiener Zeitung”, despite the ongoing crisis in the relations between East and West, the parties can find a common language in space.

According to the head of European Space Agency (ESA), the German Jan Wörner, “it is in times of transitory crisis the space industry serves as consolidating force.”

In 2020, the Russian space agency Roskosmos and the ESA are planning a joint mission to the Moon under the project “Luna-27”, aimed at preparing a manned flight to the satellite of the Earth and, in particular, aimed at the search for water on the Moon. Syrian President B. al-Assad at the invitation of Russia’s on October 20 made a short visit to Moscow. Western politicians regarded the visit as the inclusion of B. Assad in talks on the future political structure of the country.

Washington’s recent refusal to accept Russian delegation headed by Dmitry Medvedev, which was to discuss the situation in Syria, probably served as a catalyst for the events. Negotiations on the settlement of Syria moved from Washington to Moscow and visit of B. Assad has shown that there are real prospects for peace without the participation of Americans, especially if at the same time increase the bombing of Islamic State positions.

You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone” == Alphonse Gabriel Capone

Russia will deploy in Syria another 30 Su-30 fighter-jets. Another 30 fighters will surely enhance the negotiability of B. Assad regime opponents. With the return of more and more territory under the control of the legitimate government of Syria, preparations for negotiations will go much merrier.

The main reason for the increase of the Russian military presence is a Putin’s belief that the Americans keep supplying arms to ISIS.
Actually, he’s right. US officials claim that they supply arms to “the moderate rebels” who are fighting against the B. al-Assad, while in fact they are just dropping munitions from the air and ISIS picks up 80% of the airborne gifts. The state supplies of weapons to terrorist organizations operating in the territory of a sovereign country are a flagrant violation of international law.

US claim that they supply arms to the so-called “Free Syrian Army”, and in fact even their own media (NBC for example) report that there is no such thing. General Idris leads nobody, but only offers his advisory services to various armed groups. Armed groups operating in Syria are not connected, some of them are of religious orientation, some – of criminal, some – just family clans protecting their own interests.

The Government of Iraq has authorized Aerospace Russian forces to strike at the convoys of “Islamic state” terrorists which follows from Syria into Iraqi territory. This was reported on Friday by the Turkish news agency Anadolu.

This permit was issued in the course of security coordination between Iraq, Russia, Iran and Syria. According to the head of Iraq’s parliamentary committee for defense and security Hakema al-Zamlyu, the measure will contribute to the weakening of the “Islamic state” terrorists as it cuts supply routes from the neighboring country.

“hillary will go splat if she even gets the nomination.

shows you just how horrible millions of US americans have become to identify with a first class transparent fraud like her and her husband

    republicans not any better”–Fodase

Actually Fodase, the republicans are far worse. For example, now in Wisconsin, Scott Walker and his GOP state legislature are going after workers comps laws. Imagine, say, your own son or daughter gets up every day to go earn an honest day’s pay for an honest day’s work, but unfortunately, injures themselves performing a duty related to the job. Then imagine while unable to work and being scrutinized by medical doctors looking for any reason to deny a claim, your son or daughter is fired from their former job because that’s how the GOP is rewording the law. This example epitomizes the entire diabolical intent/ideology of the modern day GOP. And what is frustratingly perplexing is why otherwise intelligent observers equivocate between the two parties. Obviously, some hate blacks,Mexicans, muslims, gays. etc more than they love themselves because one can be damn sure the GOP does not have the best interests any person on Main Street–white, black, brown-whatever–in mind. In fact, quite the opposite.

Put another way, your racism is killing you and the GOP is handing you the knife with which you stab yourself to death.

So don’t give me that GOP aren’t any worse bullshit. Or even more stupidly, that they are ‘the same’.

Yes, people not imbued with the satanic and destructive spirit of the GOP will vote for Hillary even though “Saint’ does not precede her name. In the meantime, she will at least thwart some of Lucifer’s intentions before demographic inevitability throws the last shovel of shit over a dead and buried GOP.

      Demographic inevitability?

Is that what 3rd world immigration is all about?

white Libs don’t mind giving it all away, as long as they can seize and hold on to power. Who they’re lording it over doesn’t seem to matter.

      • Buck Stud October 25, 2015 at 2:59 pm #

Yes, demographic inevitability–am I wrong? What many on the right seem to have conveniently forgotten is the GOP ushered in cheap illegal workers and to this day protest against/resist, worker identification laws proposed by Democrats! Indeed, under George Bush illegal immigration exploded.

To be fair, the Democrats in response have sought to cultivate entire ethnic voting blocs. So much so, in fact, the bigger economic justice picture tends to get swallowed up the myriad special interest issues: ‘Black Lives Matter’, gay transgender issues etc.

If only the GOP could have adapted a economic justice platform they would not only have survived, but utterly dominated. But that’s simply not who the collective GOP is, although Teddy Roosevelt would have been labeled a liberal by the modern day GOP.

All of this subtly points back to Janos’ call for an American ‘National Socialism’. And interestingly, Trump seems to be adapting/promoting hints of populism/economic justice in many of his speeches. Ironically, maybe he can be the one to rescue main street republicans from the ideological clutches of the vampire one percent. Surely that would be an extraordinarily healthy development for the U.S.

Come on in, you’re all welcome to come to Minnesota.
Black gangsters from Chicago? Come on up.

Western hating Somali Muslims? Come on up.

We have plenty of jobs, and social services for you in St Cloud.

Go up to the court house in St Cloud on any weekday, and you will see a steady stream of Somali women in burkahs headed up to social services to get welfare. That’s all day, every day, that’s not an exaggeration.

When I got my license plates renewed this spring, I watched a black woman with designer clothes go to her new white Cadillac escalade with a packet of papers they give you to apply for assistance.

Sounds like raciss stories? See for yourself, go up and watch. If we leave Minnesota, as Mr. Dayton suggests, whose taxes are going to pay for this?

Now, drive a few blocks west to Waite Park, and observe any busy corner there. Guaranteed you will see a white jobless person holding sign begging for help. The reality of homeless is it’s pretty much a synonym for jobless.

St. Cloud hasn’t been a place one goes for employment in decades. Our children leave St. Cloud to work after graduation. And yet, we’ve had a steady stream of Chicago blacks, and Somalis coming to St. Cloud to look for work.

The actual war underway is the destruction of the EU as a competitor by the USA, Russia, and UK. This is being accomplished by the invasion of the worst degenerate inbred moronic cultists on the face of the earth at the rate of 10,000 a day. These religious freaks have been marrying their first cousins for thousands of years, and are severely inbred and biologically inferior…..even more inbred than the denizens of appalachia. Will the EU offer full welfare benefits to all the wives and their large litters, or just the first? Will clitorectomies be paid for by the welfare systems? Will the euro welfare systems pay for the care of all the defectives with mental and physical deformities? Still unnoticed is another invasion of europe from the south by africans following the destruction of Libya. This is a two pronged demographic invasion which we here in Ft. Meade have engineered magnificently. Enjoy the results, europussies.

Every wife gets a welfare check, no limit.

Recent article in the ‘Daily Mail’ in London claims the average Muslim man in GB has fathered 20 kids with 4 different wives. 80% are on relief.

And there was that story out of Minnesota last year, Somilian left Minneapolis to join ISIS, left behind 3 wives and 19 kids — all on stateand city welfare.

What can I say; whitey has a big heart, and deep pockets, and he’s eager share the wealth, and give it all the way?

“Buck, are you sure you got your facts straight? During the Soviet era there were no apartment buildings in private property – all of them were state-owned. Single-family houses however were in private property.”

Yes Finc, my facts are straight. The year was 2005 and my Russian artists friend’s wife was travelling back and forth between the USA and Russia because she was caring for her dying sister in Moscow. So she would bring back underground newspaper articles chronicling some of the aforementioned atrocities.

But what a waste of time–typing to a troll. No more.

“So she would bring back underground newspaper articles chronicling some of the aforementioned atrocities.”

Why risk so much by bringing “underground newspaper” through the Russian customs when there are plenty of quite open Russian Web resources vehemently opposed to Putin and available for download at a click of a mouse?

You are mixing the Internet Age with the age of the Iron Curtain. And your example describes an illegal criminal activity which Russia is, unfortunately, is not completely free of, as well as United States.

      • Buck Stud October 25, 2015 at 12:17 pm #

So a free press is ‘breaking the law’ in Putin’s ‘egalitarian’ Russia?

Give a troll enough rope and he hangs himself with the rope of contradiction.

And by the way, “Ivan” , some people still write on a ‘hard copy’ or actually ‘dip pen in ink’. Or actually read print on paper in cafes, where internet activity is ‘not monitored’ even though Putin would never suppress freedom of expression/thought/free press.

But of course, you’re really not Russian are you, troll?

“Anthropology was taken over by the Jews generations ago and they’ve hidden how widespread it was.”–Janos

Good grief, all roads lead back to the Jews with you; in that regard, they really are “the chosen people”.

But wouldn’t a more rational thought process go something like this (based upon your previous IQ declarations.)

Obviously there are a a lot of Jews in high academic places because of their genetically inherited IQ’ (according to your previous assertions). Therefore, Jews have not conspired to “take over” but have simply arrived at their natural destination of academics, or specifically in this instance, anthropology and driven by the vehicle of higher intelligence.

As an aside, have you ever considered that you have “Jewish blood” unbeknownst to you ?

Anyway, this terrific painting pretty much tells the tale. Look at those faces: the concentration, the intelligence, the character–Wow! Don’t despise the Jews Janos; celebrate and revere them. In that way you can absorb and transcend:

Sure they’re smart – the highest average IQ of all groups. But they’re not smarter than smart Whites. And they’re certainly not 13 TIMES smarter than Whites – which is their over-representation at Harvard according to Dr Duke. Other estimates vary. Just google for yourself “Jews over represented at Harvard” and you’ll have to weeks reading. Dr MacDonald gives a different figure I think, but everyone agrees something doesn’t smell right – obviously a lot of ethnic nepotism is going on.

      http://abundanthope.net/pages/True_US_History_108/The-Shocking-Massive-Jewish-Racist-Discrimination-at-Harvard.shtml

You’d think you were a Jew the way you defend them against Whites. But instead you are just a typical completely brainwashed Liberal who is against his own people. You do their fighting for them – exactly what they love the most. Congratulations? And then you post a Christian image to top it off – utterly bizarre. They hate all of that “stuff”. And the artist – whoever he was – is most unlikely to have been Jewish.

fodase, educate yourself. Islam is a religion of peace.

“Because the Koran was revealed in the context of an all-out war, several passages deal with the conduct of armed struggle. Warfare was a desperate business on the Arabian Peninsula. A chieftain was not expected to spare survivors after a battle, and some of the Koranic injunctions seem to share this spirit. Muslims are ordered by God to “slay [enemies] wherever you find them!” (4: 89). Extremists such as Osama bin Laden like to quote such verses but do so selectively. They do not include the exhortations to peace, which in almost every case follow these more ferocious passages: “Thus, if they let you be, and do not make war on you, and offer you peace, God does not allow you to harm them” (4: 90).

In the Koran, therefore, the only permissible war is one of self-defense. Muslims may not begin hostilities (2: 190). Warfare is always evil, but sometimes you have to fight in order to avoid the kind of persecution that Mecca inflicted on the Muslims (2: 191; 2: 217) or to preserve decent values (4: 75; 22: 40). The Koran quotes the Torah, the Jewish scriptures, which permits people to retaliate eye for eye, tooth for tooth, but like the Gospels, the Koran suggests that it is meritorious to forgo revenge in a spirit of charity (5: 45). Hostilities must be brought to an end as quickly as possible and must cease the minute the enemy sues for peace (2: 192-3).

Islam is not addicted to war, and jihad is not one of its “pillars,” or essential practices. The primary meaning of the word jihad is not “holy war” but “struggle.” It refers to the difficult effort that is needed to put God’s will into practice at every level–personal and social as well as political. A very important and much quoted tradition has Muhammad telling his companions as they go home after a battle, “We are returning from the lesser jihad [the battle] to the greater jihad,” the far more urgent and momentous task of extirpating wrongdoing from one’s own society and one’s own heart.

Islam did not impose itself by the sword. In a statement in which the Arabic is extremely emphatic, the Koran insists, “There must be no coercion in matters of faith!” (2: 256). Constantly Muslims are enjoined to respect Jews and Christians, the “People of the Book,” who worship the same God (29: 46). In words quoted by Muhammad in one of his last public sermons, God tells all human beings, “O people! We have formed you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another” (49: 13)–not to conquer, convert, subjugate, revile or slaughter but to reach out toward others with intelligence and understanding.

So why the suicide bombing, the hijacking and the massacre of innocent civilians? Far from being endorsed by the Koran, this killing violates some of its most sacred precepts. But during the 20th century, the militant form of piety often known as fundamentalism erupted in every major religion as a rebellion against modernity. Every fundamentalist movement I have studied in Judaism, Christianity and Islam is convinced that liberal, secular society is determined to wipe out religion. Fighting, as they imagine, a battle for survival, fundamentalists often feel justified in ignoring the more compassionate principles of their faith. But in amplifying the more aggressive passages that exist in all our scriptures, they distort the tradition.” –Karen Armstrong

In Germany, on Saturday, October 24, a new immigration law that significantly toughens rules for admission and deportation of refugees went into effect.

Henceforth, applicants for asylum have much longer to remain in the camps for primary placement of refugees. Instead of cash benefits they be granted almost exclusively services, which in some cases will also be significantly limited.

NYT: Russian Ships Near Data Cables Are Too Close for U.S. Comfort

WASHINGTON — Russian submarines and spy ships are aggressively operating near the vital undersea cables that carry almost all global Internet communications, raising concerns among some American military and intelligence officials that the Russians might be planning to attack those lines in times of tension or conflict.

The role of the cables is more important than ever before. They carry global business worth more than $10 trillion a day, including from financial institutions that settle transactions on them every second. Any significant disruption would cut the flow of capital. The cables also carry more than 95 percent of daily communications.
